It's a chilling cold case that dates back to May 16
New York state investigators said that was the last time then-20-year-old Dawn Marino was seen alive
outside Corner Tavern in Pine Island.
New York State Police Senior Investigator Kurt Labuda said the search for Marino's killer or killers continues.
“Her remains were found almost six years later on Oct
"They were found inside a cistern in the town of Warwick ..
She was last seen leaving the bar on May 16
and she was at the Rinky Dink bar [Corner Tavern] and she was seen leaving the bar."
While it took more than six years to find Marino's remains
investigators showed Spectrum News 1 where the cistern was located
a member of the State Police Major Crimes Unit
said a local resident discovered Marino's body while hunting
said the cistern and the surrounding area have been evaluated by forensic experts
"Dawn’s remains were recovered with an item that has been previously released
but we can’t say that material," Leone said
"I can’t speak to the details of how she was recovered or what she was located with or on top of
but what I can say is that material that we have released was found with her.”
"Dawn was really sweet and only 20 years old
And she was such an old soul," the statement said
"I remember that she really loved her little dog
She was still looking for her place in life and trying to figure out her future
which I could relate to because I was only 10 years older
Dawn and I had such a connection; it was like she was part of me and I could relate to her in so many ways
I really care for her and the pain doesn’t go away
It feels like yesterday and I miss Dawn so much.”

“It’s time you know the truth,” he said

“I know the fans have really been kind of craving a little bit more long-form storytelling
This season ends with some of those longer story arcs that you have been hoping for

I’m sitting here minding my own business, trying to make a cut-up for Miami Dolphins’ second-round pick Jonah Savaiineaa, and I get a text message about something former Dallas Cowboys STAR wide receiver Dez Bryant tweeted out
He just threatened to fight former Dolphins’ general manager Jeff Ireland on PPV on the undercard of a Jake Paul fight!” But what I would come to read was even more insane and unexpected
Ewers was one of the quarterbacks pre-draft that felt like he’d fit the system — and in the 7th-round?!
But not even the most optimistic fan would call him Marino 2.0
even if he does have a lightning-quick release modeled after the Dolphins legend
my dad would always tell me growing up that I need to have a quick release like Dan Marino,” Ewers said
He continued: “So I grew up hearing my dad talk about him all the time
Ewers, 22, was the highest-rated high school player in the country before the 2021 season. He would end up at Ohio State before transferring to Texas
where he played three seasons in Steve Sarkisian’s offense
completing 65% of his passes for 9,128 yards
Ewers looked comfortable in Sark’s offense
an offense that Miami’s QB1 is familiar with and something that Ewers believes will give him an advantage in Mike McDaniel’s system
I know ‘Sark’ (Steve Sarkisian) went down there to talk to Mike (McDaniel) in the offseason
I think when they were in OTAs or something like that
“I’m just beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity the Dolphins have given me
I’m excited to meet all the new teammates I’m going to have
coupled with his lightning-quick release and a mental make-up that allowed him to overcome Arch Manning breathing down his neck and a transfer out of Ohio State
gives me enough reason to believe he can make the battle for QB2 interesting
If Ewers can even be a suitable backup for Tagovailoa
but there’s the slight chance he could be even more
Could he become the player so many analysts and scouts thought he was capable of before
and I believe with everything falling into place
He may never have the accolades of Marino or push Tagovailoa for the starting job
but Ewers has the chance to be an essential piece in Miami
What are your thoughts on the Miami Dolphins selecting Quinn Ewers in the 7th round of the 2025 NFL Draft
Do you think his skill set fits Mike McDaniel’s offense
How excited are you for the Zach Wilson vs
Tiffany Delesandro had been to Bistro di Marino in Washington Township many times with it being minutes from her home
With the restaurant just minutes from her home
she made a reservation there for Valentine’s Day on Feb
14—also her birthday—but was surprised when she received a call the day before to say that her reservation at that location had been canceled
The cancellation was due to the sudden shutdown of the restaurant
The Williamstown resident said she drove by the restaurant on Friday morning and saw a padlock device on the front door
A two-day old sign on the door read: “We will be closed today
due to the ongoing winter weather conditions
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
also has its flagship location in Collingswood and previously had a location in Marlton
The Washington Township location opened at 415 Egg Harbor Road in January of 2020 in a space briefly occupied by Pesce Ristorante
it was home to Mozzarella Grill for a long time
“It’s funny because I normally don’t go there for Valentine’s Day
I go to another restaurant," Delesandro said
"I had been getting text messages through the week ‘confirm your reservation’
Yesterday I get a call from the Collingswood location
'I’m calling from the Bistro di Marino in Collingswood ..
'We have to cancel all of the reservations
we’re closing effective immediately due to the economy and financial constraints.'"
Why did Bistro di Marino in Washington Twp. close?Marino shared a statement with the blog 42freeway about the closure of the Washington Township location after five years in business there
have been up against very challenging economic conditions with increased operational costs across the board and a decline in customers
due to increases in the cost of living," Marino wrote
I have never had a more challenging year in business than 2024 and while I have tried to maintain a thriving restaurant
unfortunately it has come to the point that my Washington Township location is no longer sustainable.”
He added that he was thankfully for all the customers over the years
"My staff and I have truly appreciated your loyalty and support," Marino said
I will be concentrating on making my Collingswood location the best it has ever been in it’s 20 years of business
For those of you who have booked events with us at our Washington (Township) location
please know that we are not going to leave you hanging.”
“It’s Valentine’s Day and it’s my birthday," she said
"That’s a pretty crappy thing to do to people in under 24 hours notice
'Let me see if I can move the reservation to Collingswood.' He very nervously said
Delesandro said she went on the website OpenTable and it stated that she still had a reservation for Washington Township
She also didn’t want to go to Collingswood since it's further away and is also a smaller location
She said she wasn't confident that the Collingswood restaurant
would be able to accommodate customers from the Washington Township location at the last minute on a holiday
There were messages on social media about the sudden closure on the South Jersey Food Scene Facebook page
One person posted about a baby shower she had planned to have at the restaurant and asked members of the page if they knew of another BYOB available
“A few colleagues that I work with were actually going
and they never received phone calls about it being shut down,” Delesandro said
acknowledged that he was still in the process of contacting everyone about the closure
"For those of you concerned about gift card purchases
please know that you may still redeem them at our Collingswood location," he wrote
"I would like to also encourage people to remember to support their small
local restaurants and businesses and understand the challenges that so many are currently up against
"No restaurant or business ever wants to close its doors.”

Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer Dan Marino threw his support behind quarterback Tua Tagovailoa but added that the team must find a way to keep Tagovailoa healthy
Marino confirmed Friday what the Dolphins told the world when they gave Tagovailoa a four-year
$212.1 million extension last summer: He is their franchise quarterback
Marino said in an interview on "The Pat McAfee Show," availability issues could derail Tagovailoa's progress
"I thought we had a very good football team until we started getting injuries
especially at the end of the year," said Marino
who serves as a special adviser to Dolphins owner Stephen Ross
but we need to find a way to just keep him healthy
especially at the end of the year when you have to win games to get in the playoffs ..
That's I think where the focus is going to be."
Tagovailoa missed a career-high six games last season: four with a concussion and the final two games of the season with an undisclosed hip injury
While Tagovailoa and coach Mike McDaniel had declined to specify on the second injury
Dolphins general manager Chris Grier called it a "very unique injury" and expressed "no concern at all" for any long-term effects
While Grier and the Dolphins remain "very confident" in Tagovailoa
the general manager admitted that the quarterback must do a better job remaining on the field
He needs to know how to protect himself," Grier said last month
but he needs to control what he can control
Not being available for taking chances and risk is unacceptable to us
Tagovailoa led the NFL with a career-high 72.9% completion rate in 2024
He threw for 2,867 yards and 19 touchdowns against seven interceptions
In his final comments of the season on Jan
Tagovailoa said his availability will be addressed this offseason and that his growing number of missed games has become a point of frustration
Tagovailoa missed four games in 2021 with broken ribs and a broken finger and four games in 2022 with multiple concussions
He played all 18 games (including playoffs) for the Dolphins in 2023
and it has been my thing since last year," he said
other injuries that have stacked up with the concussions to where I'm missing games
and I think that's something to take into consideration for myself
for the team and just moving forward to stay available for more than one season
