Report – Why Inter Milan President Marotta Avoids Punishment In Ultras Investigation | OneFootballSempreInter.Com
Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta has avoided punishment in the investigation into Inter Milan ultras group the Curva Nord
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews
detail how Marotta had always went through the proper channels to inform the Italian FA of any contacts he had with ultras leaders
For the past several months, Inter ultras group the Curva Nord have been under investigation
This investigation concerns alleged criminal activities as well as mafia ties
there has also been an investigation into AC Milan ultras group the Curva Sud
As part of the investigation, prosecutors have interrogated many prominent figures at both Inter and AC Milan
there have been some notable sanctions as part of the investigation
These suspensions are in response to contacts that Inzaghi and Calhanoglu have had with Curva Nord leaders
The duo will serve their bans in this evening’s Serie A match against Hellas Verona
UDINE, ITALY – SEPTEMBER 18: Giuseppe Marotta, CEO for sport at FC Internazionale looks on prior to the Serie A match between Udinese Calcio and FC Internazionale at Dacia Arena on September 18

it is not just Inzaghi and Calhanoglu who have faced sanctions
Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti has also received a €14,500 fine
Meanwhile, Nerazzurri Security Manager Claudio Sala has received a €14,500 fine as well as a thirty-match ban
One highly notable figure at Inter Milan to have avoided punishment
Marotta did testify as part of the investigation into Inter’s ultras. And the Nerazzurri President did openly admit to having met with ultras leaders in 2022
However, Marotta also confirmed that he went through the proper channels. The Inter President had notified the Italian FA as well as DIGOS investigators that he would hold the meeting
prosecutors have not fined Marotta for his conduct
Meanwhile, there is a €70,000 fine for Inter Milan as a whole as part of the investigation
Furthermore, the Gazzetta report, investigators have not found that Inter Milan provided any financial assistance to the club’s ultras to purchase tickets for the 2023 Champions League final
The Nerazzurri did “facilitate access” to the Curva Nord to buy tickets to that match
prosecutors have found that there was no “direct or indirect” financial assistance
Curva Nord members who purchased tickets to that final did so for the same price as any other fan

The 2025 NBA playoff bracket for the Eastern Conference is set and it will feature the Boston Celtics locking horns with the New York Knicks in the second round
Although it’s a matchup between the second and third seeds, many feel that the Celtics are the overwhelming favorites in the series
the Celtics are the defending champions of the NBA
If the regular-season series was any indication
the C’s shouldn’t have any trouble dealing with the Knicks
the Celtics were 4-0 against the Knicks in the 2024-25 NBA season
Keeping that same energy in mind, franchise legend Paul Pierce recently shared his feelings on the battle of the Eastern Conference juggernauts in the second round
“We not worried about this little Knick energy
They don’t play well against any of the top teams
The Knicks are coming off the heels of a phenomenal series win over the Detroit Pistons
but Pierce doesn’t think their energy will translate against the Celtics
Pierce predicts the C’s to wrap things up in just five games and secure a spot in the conference finals
co-host Ric Bucher also picked the Celtics to dominate the Knicks in the upcoming series
Bucher also compared the matchup to the Western Conference contest between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves
the rest of the match-ups tilt in favor of the Celtics
Boston and New York is the same as Minnesota against the Lakers
it’s just a matter of how long Boston wants the series to go,” he claimed
It will be interesting to see if it lights a fire under the Knicks or if Pierce and Bucher’s brutal prediction remains true

MILAN, ITALY – APRIL 16: Simone Inzaghi, Head Coach of FC Internazionale, gives instructions during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Quarter Final Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and FC Bayern München at San Siro on April 16
The mood in the Nerazzurri camp has gone from the stars to the gutter in the last couple of weeks
having lost three consecutive matches without finding the net
It has seen them crash out of the Coppa Italia semi-final to Milan and fall three points behind new Serie A leaders Napoli
“We mustn’t evaluate Inzaghi based on weeks
These have been extraordinary years for the club and the credit goes to him
“Everything is burned through so quickly in the football world now
but we have a solid group and his presence is a big part of that,” insisted Marotta

I would take about evolution,” assured the President
“This process of evolution started years ago
also taking into account the great economic difficulty we were dealing with
“We are going into the final stage of a season where revenue has increased
“We want to invest in figures who can be important for the present and the future
but not necessarily just on free agents who have a high salary
We have solid foundations to build on,” concluded Marotta

This has been a very difficult seven days for Inter, who lost to Bologna and were caught at the top of the Serie A table, then crashed out of the Coppa Italia with Wednesday’s 3-0 semi-final defeat to Milan.
“The state of mind is of a squad that is aware it is playing an important role in this season,” assured Marotta on DAZN.

Squad rotation is limited ahead of the Champions League semi-final with Barcelona on Wednesday

Marotta: ‘Inter not underdogs with Barcelona
Inzaghi deserves credit’ | OneFootballFootball Italia
Inter President Beppe Marotta admits the Champions League trophy is a ‘dream’ and they ‘do not go in as underdogs’ against Barcelona
while he credits Simone Inzaghi with much of their success
The Nerazzurri have reached their second Champions League semi-final in three years and are still in the running for the Treble
sitting on top of the Serie A table and ready to play Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final next week
“It is a particularly happy moment for the squad
seeing as we are still protagonists in three competitions
I think this is to be considered a positive campaign and continues the process we started a few years ago
that process really began with the arrival of Inzaghi
making us protagonists in Europe the way we’d never been before
MILAN, ITALY – APRIL 16: Lautaro Martinez of FC Internazionale scores his team’s first goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Quarter Final Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and FC Bayern München at San Siro on April 16
Antonio Conte had won the Scudetto and taken Inter to the Europa League Final
but Inzaghi has found a level of consistency in Italy and the highest level of European football that made him a sought-after figure for other top clubs
With that in mind, Marotta assures Inter fans that they will not be losing their coach
“I consider Inzaghi to still be a young coach
but who has accumulated so much experience and quality already
but is just as good at preparing the squad and dealing with a group that has grown along with him
developing a different mentality to before
“I saw them learn important lessons from defeat and see them as opportunities for further growth.”
Will signing Inzaghi to a new contract be a pure formality
but clearly it is not in my mentality to have a coach run down his deal
We will sit down at the end of the season to extend the contract
Lautaro Martinez also committed his future to Inter and now proudly wears the captain’s armband
as well as leading the team to the Champions League semi-finals with his goals
“The contract above all sealed this sense of belonging between the player and club
I feel that Lautaro has not just grown on a football level
I have seen him mature as a man and today he truly is our leader.”
MILAN, ITALY – APRIL 16: Nicolo Barella of FC Internazionale celebrates with teammate Federico Dimarco following their victory at the end of the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Quarter Final Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and FC Bayern München at San Siro on April 16
Marotta has experienced great success off his own, first as director general of Juventus, then in various roles for Inter
but there is one trophy he is yet to add to his own cabinet
“We are Inter
the history of this club means it is an obligation to say we participate in every competition aiming to win,” continued the President
“Winning the Champions League is the only thing I have never done
“I am in any case certain this is a team that can achieve great things, and we do not go in as underdogs against Barcelona
It is our duty to believe in ourselves and our capabilities.”
