Masterpieces from the Caporrella Foundation an exhibition that combines a tribute to one of the masters of Nouveau Réalisme with a rediscovery of the fundamental role of art foundry Curated by Massimo Bignardi and promoted by Antonio Rocca artistic director of Rocca Albornoz and the Academy of Fine Arts in Viterbo the exhibition offers an immersive journey through seventy sculptures from the Vittorio Caporrella Art Foundation (FFONDARC) The institution represents an exclusive case in the panorama of international collecting interweaving foundry work with 20th-century art history. At the center of the exhibition is the figure of Daniel Spoerri whose name remains inextricably linked to his famous Tableaux pièges The intent of the exhibition is also to bring to light the symbiotic relationship between the artists and the Caporrella foundry a place where art takes shape through craftsmanship foundryman Pietro Caporrella has given substance to the insights of great masters Umberto Mastroianni and Enrico Baj have chosen to entrust their works to his experience contributing to the creation of an extraordinary artistic legacy The exhibition itinerary is divided into two venues: at Rocca Albornoz Spoerri’s creative universe can be breathed while Palazzo Eroli hosts a fascinating dialogue between ancient and contemporary among the rooms of the Museum of the City and Territory of Narni the exhibition stages an unprecedented encounter between Arman’s Violin and Domenico Ghirlandaio’sCoronation of the Virgin A comparison of eras and languages continues with works by Bonalumi Umberto Mastroianni and an exceptional surprise: the unique bronze signed by Enrico Baj In addition to Spoerri’s celebration the exhibition raises a reflection on the fusion of art and craft an often blurred but essential boundary in the creative process Each bronze sculpture is the result of a four-handed dialogue between artist and maker an interweaving of trust and expertise that has Erica Ferraroni Laura Santamaria and Meri Tancredi - in a dialogue that explores Time and Cosmos reinterpreting the oracular figure The project focuses on the concept whereby the artist's role in the society is as similar as the one of a contemporary oracle capable of transforming the perception of the world into a language that escapes linearity and certainty placing us before a deep reflection on the relationship between time The artist becomes an interpreter of time that passes fragments and sensations into signs that require decipherment but precisely in this enigmatic nature lies their energy It is the observer's task to grasp the clues aware that all understanding is temporary and never definitive The work does not merely tell a story already defined a fertile ground to reflect on the present and intuit possibilities for the future aware that tomorrow will never be realized according to our expectations transforms the circle into a powerful symbol of energy and transformation Her images evoke constellations that seem to speak of aura capturing an intimate connection between the human figure and universal geometries uses nerofumo (carbon black) as a material trace to represent the orbits and astral cycles joining the primordial matter of the universe to the processes that shape our lives Meri Tancredi explores the flow of time through the video 'Tempo stabile di massima permanenza' in which a beam of sunlight becomes the silent protagonist of a reflection on duration and permanence plexiglass panels in which the overlapping of inscriptions over time makes the text almost illegible she recalls the complexity of ancient oracle prophecies The perception that these artists have of the world and the way they invite us to read it are a manifestation of Time flowing without assumptions but opens spaces of question and imagination instead making us aware of our deeply human desire to find certainties in reality trying to shape a future that we cannot know The title of the exhibition 'Time Within the Signs' suggests this tension between the need to interpret the present and the desire to glimpse in time signs that can guide us the artist does not reveal absolute truths but invites us to decipher the signs that surround us reminding that time is not a straight line but a constellation of fragments time lives within the signs left by the artist but starting points for a personal and collective journey through the mystery of 'being' 1976) lives and works between Como and Milan Graduated from Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and later specialized from the Loughborough University School of Art and Design Her site-specific projects and sculptures often present the viewer a parallelism between the micro and macro cosmos thus reflecting on systems and processes of interconnectivity Her multidisciplinary practice has been exhibited in museums and international institutions such as the Whitechapel Gallery in London (2015) and the MAC Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Founder and curator of 'Drawings from Lightning' a multidisciplinary project focused on contemporary drawing In her peregrinations she explores the relationship between language The artist research focuses on the relationship between language Questioning her own unconscious universe to relate it with a collective Time and coagulating her own reflections into semantic traces other times labile and twisted anthropological and anthropic metaphors Resta aggiornato su eventi ed esposizioni d'Arte e Design organizzati in Italia Accetto l'informativa sulla privacy e di ricevere le newsletter Address: Via del Parco 1 - He hinted there could be some news soon. NarniaWeb keep an eye on this story as it develops. Here’s everything we know about Netflix’s Narnia. Thanks to Bartek and Arianna for helping with translation and interpretation Narni itself could be used in filming a few scenes… we don’t actually know what the level of interest is from Netflix — or that the conversation has gone very far I think they want to promote their town for tourism reasons they’ve already been successful for Narniawebbers The only problem with that idea is that this is Netflix and unless it’s prestige Oscar-bait they’re not going to have an theatrical screenings (or DVD releases) such as the Egyptian Theatre in LA (though that’s closed for renovations until next year) Only those willing and able to have Netflix or manage to find it online will be able to see it It’s not a bad idea to film some scenes in a town that apparently inspired Lewis to create Narnia I would like any new film or TV series to be mostly filmed in the U.K That landscape and location would be the most like the real Narnia to me The picture almost looks like it could be from Beruna or Anvard I’d be very surprised if anything came of this Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia’ has the hackles up I hope they are going to do ALL the books and follow them faithfully instead of doing their own interpretation of the usual four With the technology they have today they should be able to do them all Love the idea that they are going to do all the books,no short cuts please ,keep true to the original books ,hope they do a fab job like Lord of the rings and take the time so they last forever, maybe Aslan is on the move it is a lovely town and would be a nice location for any fantasy shoot It looks like it could have been in the PC film It would be kind of cool if they started over with The Lion and the Wardrobe but this time set in the modern day At the time he wrote the chronicles of Narnia the Lion and the Wardrobe it pretty much was set in 1940 which was less than ten years before he started writing it I knew that random bit of trivia about Narni (apparently it actually was called Narnia in Roman times) but I had never thought of them using that I think I’ve seen this picture before; the other day I thought my brother had texted it to me; then he said I texted it to him (must have been a Siri glitch That or a hilarious good sign for the town lol Netflix’s ‘Narnia’ Begins Casting Search For Two Lead Child Actors It’s Official: Narnia Returning to the Big Screen Thanksgiving 2026! To find out their contact details, just view thespecific section of the Umbria tourist promotion board website All take advantage of spring water and use malts from native grains If we place the Umbrian breweries on the map we see that they are distributed throughout the region It is therefore possible to connect them together by creating routes that allow you not only to "go for beer" naturalistic and food and wine beauties of the Green Heart of Italy In this article we propose a ring between villages and breweries in the central-southern area of Umbria The city is often considered only for its steelworks, to which a museum is dedicated inside the CAOS - Opificio Siri Arts Center the historic center is interesting and maintains ancient vestiges and Renaissance buildings despite the serious destruction caused by the Allied bombings during the Second World War You cannot help but visit the tomb of Saint Valentine located in a beautiful baroque basilica a little outside the center is considered the patron saint of lovers for having united in marriage a Roman centurion and a young Christian woman Seven kilometers from the center the Velino river flows into the Nera giving rise to the Marmore Falls (which we talked about here) Created by the Romans three centuries before Christ by diverting the course of the Velino to reclaim the Rieti plain they are the highest artificial waterfalls in Europe: 165 meters in three jumps The name comes from the calcium carbonate salts present on the rocks that make them similar to white marble The waterfall area is included in a park crossed by various paths with two paid entrances the lower belvedere and the upper belvedere Near the lower belvedere there is an equipped area for campers with 22 pitches Il Bro Brewery of Terni produces “live” beers with high fermentation without preservatives and refermented for about twenty days in the bottle with their yeasts From Terni to Spoleto it is about thirty kilometers on the ancient Via Flaminia the profile of the fourteenth-century Rocca Albornoziana immediately stands out located at 400 meters above sea level on the Sant'Elia hill it is easily accessible thanks to the system of escalators that connect the historic center to the lower part of the city Internationally famous for the Festival of the Two Worlds Spoleto has also been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011 with the Basilica of San Salvatore a rare example of Lombard architecture built between the end of the XNUMXth and the beginning of the XNUMXth century The building was damaged by the earthquake and is still being restored so it cannot be accessed: you have to make do with peeking inside through a large window only thirteen kilometers separate Spoleto from the Tempietto del Clitunno in Campello When a passion becomes a business. In Spoleto the Caber Beer It was born almost for fun as a home brewery Today it produces about twenty types of top-fermented beers in Belgian and English style with barley grown on its own farm The brewery is completely powered by solar energy; it is open to visits and tastings and there is also a company shop Spoleto is the entry point to visit the green and wild Valnerina. Travelling along the SS 685 in Cerreto di Spoleto you turn right to reach Cascia, with the sanctuary of Santa Rita, and Norcia, with the famous basilica of San Benedetto. Unfortunately, the 2016 earthquake caused serious damage to the artistic and cultural heritage of the two cities enclosed in the Sibillini Mountains National Park and a visit has a strong symbolic and concrete value You can contribute to the restart by purchasing the renowned typical products of the area including the inevitable cured meats: it is not for nothing that the term norcineria derives from Norcia It is easier to go back towards Cerreto and pass through Sellano where the very high Tibetan bridge that connects Sellano to the hamlet of Montesanto awaits us since you walk in a harness on a narrow walkway half a kilometer long located at a height of 175 meters A short itinerary leads to the discovery of the ancient canals and waterfalls The abundance of water has made the town famous for its paper mills: the paper used for the first printed edition of the Divine Comedy came from this Umbrian town Ut laetificet cor, to cheer the heart. This is the motto of the Nursia Beer produced in the Monastery of San Benedetto in Monte in Norcia the city of the founder of the Benedictines with an amber color and a strong flavor: the brewery's income serves to support the activities of the abbey over the centuries wars and earthquakes have had a significant impact on the appearance of Foligno Destruction and reconstruction have followed one another but what has never changed is the typical Roman layout with Corso Cavour and Via Mazzini Foligno is beautiful and easy to explore on foot: the main buildings are concentrated around Piazza della Repubblica an equestrian competition between the city's districts dating back to 1448 accompanied by a procession in period costume with many small restaurants and grocery stores a sweet made of elongated and rolled dough filled with apples walnuts and cocoa; and if you want to make an enemy in Foligno tell them that rocciata looks like a strudel has been one of the most famous places in the city for over a century It offers delicious take-away sandwiches and is also a bistro Speaking of typical products: about twenty kilometers from the center the hamlet of Colfiorito is famous for its red potatoes and lentils a special Belgian ale beer produced with water from Rasiglia one of the towns – together with Pale and Foligno – where there is a sales and tasting point Travelling along the highway from Foligno towards Assisi a few kilometres before we come across Spello In Roman times it was a very important center as evidenced by the numerous remains the list of things to see is long and the place certainly deserves a stop Saint Francis and Saint Clare were born in the town that lives in their name even if The historic center is a concentration of wonders Starting with the Basilica of Saint Francis the cycle of twenty-eight frescoes by Giotto with the Stories of the Life of Saint Francis leaves you speechless On the slopes of Mount Subasio stands the Eremo delle Carceri but a secluded and solitary place where Francis and his companions used to retreat to pray Immersed in a forest of centuries-old holm oaks taking advantage of the unequipped space located nearby Founded in 2012, 7 kilometers from Assisi, the company Hermitage beer produces over 40.000 liters of beer per month divided into eight varieties The brewery carries out particular research on yeasts and experiments on spices and fermentations that have earned Enrico co-founder with a degree in Agricultural and Environmental Biotechnology Assisi is the turning point. We pass Perugia and take the E45 south towards Torgiano, a town famous for its oil and wine. The typical local products are dedicated to Lungarotti Foundation Museums MOO and MUVIT and the project Scultori a Brufa a theme park with thirty works created by internationally renowned contemporary sculptors Continuing on the SP 403 a detour takes us to Cannara If among the things to see there is the Infiorata di Pentecoste among those to taste there is the Cipolla di Cannara included in the list of traditional agri-food products games of skill are started including the Ruzzolone a tradition that consists of rolling cheeses through the streets of the center Back on the SP403 we find, one after the other, the villages of Bevagna and Montefalco (which we talked about here) who even built a river port there: it was the base of a connecting road that led directly to Rome using the waters of the Clitunno and Topino rivers that flow into the Tiber the church of San Michele and that of San Silvestro are two jewels of Romanesque architecture Say Montefalco and you immediately think of Sagrantino But the name is also linked to great artists such as the fifteenth-century painter Benozzo Gozzoli whose canvases are found in the Pieve di San Fortunato and in the museum complex of San Francesco together with works by Perugino Located in Torgiano, the Perugia Brewery owes its name to an old brewery opened in the capital in 1875 and closed in 1926 including the title of “Brewery of the Year” 2016 a new facility has been opened with a taproom a place with a view of the production open every day where you can taste and buy the beers Guided tours are available on Fridays and Saturdays by reservation From Montefalco to Todi you travel about thirty kilometers on the Regional Road 316 the Provincial Roads 414 and 418 and the State Road 79 bis we see from below the historic center still enclosed by the bastions The Middle Ages was the historical period of greatest splendor of the city and this is evidenced by the Piazza del Popolo and the Duomo dell'Annunziata In the city of the friar and poet Jacopone, the Todi underground More than three kilometers of tunnels and galleries hundreds of wells from various eras and dozens of pre-Roman A highly engineered hydraulic system used until 1925 for the supply and drainage of water that accumulated underground the Irish artist Brian O'Doherty and his wife Barbara Novak have transformed their home by painting it entirely with bright colors and geometric shapes a path immersed in greenery with twenty sculptures that tell the story of the American artist's career from 1960 to the XNUMXs take the State Road 448 and then the 205 in Baschi The route passes through woods and olive groves along the Corbara Lake an artificial basin of about ten square kilometers in a splendid valley within the protected area of the Tiber River Park When you are in Todi don't forget to stop by Cantina Roccafiore The symbol of the city is the cathedral with its Gothic façade: linked to this splendid monument is the automaton that strikes the hours on the Torre di Maurizio on the corner with Piazza del Duomo; it was the first built in Italy in 1348 A strategic landing place for visiting the city and its surroundings is the Battistelli rest area located a few steps from the funicular to the historic center About ten kilometers from Orvieto, the Centrolitri Brewery di Baschi produces artisanal unfiltered and unpasteurized beers refermented in the bottle It offers beers inspired by Umbrian culture and flavors using local water and enhancing the territory It was one of the eight Umbrian breweries to stand out in the 2022 edition of the Cerevisia Award supported by the Ministry of Agricultural Policies It offers guided tours and direct sales at the headquarters take the A1 to Attigliano and then the Provincial Road 31 About two kilometers from the village is the Rio Grande Basin urban river park with its trekking paths that wind through the woods Amelia is located in an area with a high agricultural vocation with numerous typical products: dried figs the small fava cottòra hand-picked as in the past and Vin Santo But there is also much to see in the center starting with the Roman cisterns accessible from Piazza Matteotti an underground complex that tells the story of the city from the Romans to the mid-18th century passing through the dark times of the Inquisition It is a young company: the master brewer Alessandro Di Stefano attended the CERB courses at the University of Perugia and in 2017, helped by his brother Marco, he opened his own plant. Every corner is spectacular, from the main square, Piazza del Popolo, to the stunning Duomo and Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, just off it, with panoramic vistas across the valley. Whenever I walk up the precipitous roads to the square, I am reminded why the friar and poet Jacopone da Todi was so inspired by the area.” An ideal pit stop?“When I spend the day in Todi, I take a break at a good wine bar, such as Vineria San Fortunato, just below the temple of San Fortunato, and order a glass of Umbrian red. If I’m with friends or family, I’ll go to La Cantina del Mercataccio for antipasti—cured ham, fresh tomatoes, Pecorino, and truffles.” And a great walking route?“There’s a lovely trail between Todi and Orvieto. Follow the gentle course of the River Tiber winding through the woods—there’s almost no trace of civilization. As you walk along the banks of the Lago di Corbara, the landscape starts to change: The hills become softer, the horizon opens up, and then you see Orvieto clinging to the cliffside, which seems to rise up to the sun.” 1 / 6ChevronChevronJames P. MollisonThe library at the town’s School of Arts and Crafts.Your top tip for art?“The cathedral square in Orvieto, with the grand façade of the Duomo. It contains 500 years’ worth of sculptures and mosaics. The jewel at its center is the San Brizio Chapel—the frescoes are testament to the graceful paint strokes of Benozzo Gozzoli and Luca Signorelli.” Best restaurant for a traditional dinner?“There are so many. For a taste of refined local cooking, head to Ristorante I Sette Consoli, which does fantastic meat dishes, including pork cheek with Jerusalem artichoke sauce and partridge with prunes and chestnuts. Or opt for a family-style setup. The food at Osteria da Mamma Angela is simple and delicious; it’s particularly good for cured meats and cheeses.” Your favourite regional food?“Fortunately we’re still surrounded by all sorts of artisans. Every Tuesday, a shepherd in Solomeo brings us fresh ricotta, which takes me back to the time when we used to farm the countryside.” What makes Umbria special?“It is still relatively untouched by tourism—there are some extraordinary villages and an artistic heritage rivaling that of more prominent parts of Italy. You can come across a painting by Giotto or Beato Angelico in a little country church but hardly anyone knows about it. That is the beauty of this place.” up-to-the-minute voice in all things travel Condé Nast Traveler is the global citizen’s bible and muse We understand that time is the greatest luxury which is why Condé Nast Traveler mines its network of experts and influencers so that you never waste a meal or a hotel stay wherever you are in the world Ashley Hall’s Narni Summerall posted a 15-1 record at No 1 singles and led the Panthers to the SCISA Class AAA state semifinals Mark Sanford has given away $250,000 of his campaign cash and he said he expects to donate even more even after the graduations from the all-girls school of the last three Lowcountry players of the year Narni Summerall follows in the footsteps of 2008/2009 winner Jamie Harrell and 2010 recipient Patricia Kirkland quite smoothly Jamie and Patricia have been good role models It's great to follow in their legacy," Summerall said of being selected as The Post and Courier's All-Lowcountry girls tennis player of the year She is joined on the first team by fellow repeaters Porter-Gaud senior Mi'Kola Cooper Porter-Gaud junior Annie Hay and Colleton Prep senior Sarah McDonald The team is rounded out by Wando junior Catherine Martin and Wando freshman Melanie Allen who led Bishop England to the High School League's Class AA state title and Brian Burke of SCISA Class AAA state champion Porter-Gaud share the Lowcountry coach of the year award Summerall will have the opportunity next season to keep the Ashley Hall string going The Panthers failed in their quest for a fourth straight SCISA Class AAA state championship as Porter-Gaud defeated Ashley Hall in the state semifinals Porter-Gaud had lost to the Panthers in the past two state finals the top-ranked 18-and-under player in the state After playing behind both Harrell and Kirkland as a freshman Summerall made the move up the ladder to No losing only a three-set match to Porter-Gaud's Cooper in the regular season Summerall won all three of her other singles matches against Cooper this season "They were really close matches (against Cooper) It came down to a tiebreaker here or there in two or three of the matches," said Summerall who has suffered only one loss in each of her first three seasons for the Panthers She believes much of her success this year is a result of her 2-3 hours of daily training at Creekside Tennis and Swim with former College of Charleston players Or Dekel and Omer Abramovich "I am working on a lot of tactical things like shot selection and things like that," she said "I am stepping in more and taking balls as soon as possible." celebrated worldwide EWTN correspondent Colm Flynn journeys to Terni exploring how this small city honors its patron saint and the essence of love he represents in his apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia calls on couples to look beyond the commercialization of Valentine's Day urging them to grasp the true essence of romantic love and the life of St drawing couples from across Italy and Europe to celebrate their love under the patronage of St is celebrated for his unwavering commitment to Christian marriage even in the face of Emperor Claudius II's ban His dedication led to his imprisonment and eventual martyrdom but his legacy as a defender of love endures Art historian Giuseppe Cassio explains how Valentine's martyrdom transformed a pagan holiday into a celebration of Christian love intertwining with the season's natural awakening The highlight for many visiting couples is the special blessing at the Basilica of St a tradition rooted in the saint's own acts of blessing Christian unions emphasizes the historical significance of these blessings rooted in Valentine's support for a Christian woman and a pagan soldier's love Couples like Olga and Federico seek the blessing for serenity and confidence in their commitment while Massimiliano dreams of peace and love The common thread among these couples is a deep understanding of love's enduring power a sentiment echoed by Monsignor Francesco Antonio Soddu He stresses that Valentine's Day embodies the selfless love and sacrifice at the heart of Christian doctrine it offers a poignant reminder of love's true meaning: a divine gift transcending mere emotion Valentine's story is not just history but a living testament to love's transformative power This article was updated on the 14th of February of 2024. SIGN UP FOR cells and are believed to promote tumor growth by acting as decoys for effector lymphocytes report another scenario in which a shed form of the MULT1 mouse NKG2D ligand boosts NK cell functions several reports do not correlate the presence of soluble ligands with decreased NKG2D expression nor functional activities it was unlikely that shed MULT1 exert an inhibitory effect on immunity the authors further showed that mouse tumor cells engineered to release a secreted form of MULT1 (secMULT1) similar to the shed MULT1 were rejected when injected into syngenic mice Tumor rejection is dependent on NK cells as cells grow in NK but not in CD8+ T cell-depleted host and requires NKG2D the controlled release of secMULT1 from tumors harboring inducible secMULT1 promotes tumor rejection To rule out the possibility that tumor cell rejection was due to intrinsic modifications of tumor cells the author monitored the rejection of a mixture of 9:1 secMULT1−: secMULT1+ tumor cells and showed an improved antitumoral effect on both secMULT1+ and direct intratumoral injection of recombinant MULT1 promotes tumor rejection These results suggested that soluble MULT1 mobilizes or activates anti-tumor effector cells further reported increased frequencies of cytotoxic and IFN-γ-secreting NK cells associated with secMULT1+ tumors as compared to control tumor cells these data suggest that a shed NKG2D ligand can promote tumor rejection by boosting NK cell effector functions Tumor-associated cells express NKG2DL which can desensitize NK cells Tumor shedding of MULT1 delivers soluble MULT1 that outcompetes for NKG2D binding and prevents NK cell desensitization Boosted NK cell functions lead to improved tumor cell rejection by other activating receptors The blockade of NKG2D desensitization by antibodies directed against NKG2D should thus also boost NK cell activation via other pathways such as antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity the precise identification of the ligand-receptor pair involved in the control of tumors by NK cells will be a limiting factor to these innovative therapeutic approaches antibodies against activating receptors should be designed to boost NK cell reactivity but should not block the recognition of the tumors by NK cells as the tuning of NK cell reactivity by soluble NKG2D ligands depends on their affinity for NKG2D the pre-clinical development of this new class of drug candidates might reveal novel pharmacokinetics and the pharmacodynamics guidelines Download references Download citation Anyone you share relation to the purchase of an historic Italian castle in what might become the last of a series of scandal to hit the Holy See have included the name of Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia among a list of individuals suspected of having fraudulently manoeuvred the sale of the 19th-century San Girolamo castle located on the lush Umbrian hills near the town of Narni was sold by the Narni City Council to a real estate company named IMI Immobiliare four years ago for about €1m (£700,000 currently the president of the Holy See's council for family matters Prosecutors allege that the castle was sold way below its real value – which they estimate at more than €5.5m – and purchased with church money as part of a criminal conspiracy orchestrated by the archbishop, Il Corriere della Sera reported The director of IMI Immobiliare (the buyer) was in fact Paolo Zappelli who was also the bursar of the diocese of Terni Detectives claim the company completed the purchase with funds from the diocese which was at the time facing a separate deficit crisis and later gained it the dubious title of Europe's second most indebted diocese It is also alleged that the deal was struck in breach of rules concerning the sale of public property former Narni mayor Stefano Bigaroni and several other church and council employees are also reportedly under investigation The probe could lead to a series of charges including embezzlement Paglia left Terni after 12 years as bishop in 2012 when he was appointed to his current office by Pope Benedict XVI One year later the Vatican brought in a special administrator to take care of the diocese finances after it emerged it had piled up some €20m in debts The same year, when asked about the Castle purchase by L'Espresso magazine After reports of the fresh probe emerged, he told Ansa news agency: "I obviously remain at detectives' disposal and have full confidence in earthly justice." The San Girolamo castle is said to lay abandoned The Italian media are reporting that Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia the President of the Pontifical Council for the Family has been listed among those placed “under investigation” by an Italian prosecutor in connection with the sale of a castle at Narni that took place four years ago in the diocese of Terni The press alleges that he is being investigated for association with others to swindle the municipality of Narni abusive exercise of credit and undue appropriation They say that the notification that he is under investigation has been sent to him as well as to the vicar-general of the diocese and to the president of the diocesan institute for the support of the clergy They report that the notification was issued after the deputy-prosecutor of Terni  had completed a two-year preliminary investigation It's important to note that under Italian law that fact that one is being placed "under investigation" does not mean that one is being charged with a crime much less that one is guilty of the said crime It simply means that there is a need for further investigation and the prosecutor has the legal responsibility to notify the person of this This further investigation could lead to one's acquittal told the Italian news agency ANSA that he had learned about all this from the press earlier in the day and he had not received any such notification from the state prosecutor I remain at the disposition of the investigating authorities and trust totally in the earthly justice,” he stated that he was taking legal action in both the civil and penal courts to protect his good name Password reset instructions will be sent to your registered email address As a frequent reader of our website, you know how important America’s voice is in the conversation about the church and the world. Umbria, one of the smallest Italian regions, offers a rich artistic and cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, food and wine and crafts. But how many of you know the mystery that surrounds this region? Among mummies, giant skeletons and underground visits, you will discover the hidden charm of this region by discovering it from a different point of view. Are you ready to immerse yourself in a surreal atmosphere? Visualizza questo post su Instagram Un post condiviso da [ Alessandro Biti | Umbria | Perugia IT ] (@8axel8) One of the most evocative places in Umbria is certainly the Scarzuola, located in the municipality of Montegabbione, in the province of Terni. La Scarzuola was born in 1978 from the creativity of the architect Tommaso Buzzi, who acquired the convent where St. Francis of Assisi lived to transform it into an ideal city inspired by neo-mannerism and surrealism, in which all the rules are overturned. Visiting the Scarzuola, you will find yourself among labyrinths, giant statues, spirals and eyes engraved in stone full of symbolism, thanks to which you will immerse yourself into a dreamlike atmosphere. The current owner, the eccentric nephew of the creator, will take you on an evocative journey made of otherworldly reflections and the discovery of yourself. The Scarzuola is an allegory of human existence, but it will be your task to find its meaning and return home with a different awareness from that with which you crossed the boundaries of the ideal city. The work, which represents an anthropomorphic supine skeleton in the nave of the church, measures 24 meters! The nose is replaced by a bird's beak, which is a recurring element in the artist's works. But the focal point of the work lies in the long golden shaft that starts from the middle finger of the skeleton and rises upwards. This detail was inserted by the artist to symbolize the connection between man and the cosmic world. The majesty of the skeleton and the idea of how man is constantly connected with the universe will leave you breathless! The dungeons were discovered in 1979 by a group of speleologists, who opened a passage under an ancient Dominican convent. Visiting Narni underground, you will find yourself in a mystical atmosphere, in which to immerse yourself in cisterns dating back to ancient Roman domus, crypts, frescoes and coded messages! In the Room of Torments, where the Inquisition Tribunal was located, you will admire the enigmatic graffiti full of Masonic and esoteric symbols carved in stone by prisoners. Among them, Giuseppe Andrea Lombardini was the prisoner who engraved most of the cryptic messages so that the inquisitors could not decipher them. Prepare... legend has it that his ghost still hovers in the dungeons! The work, consisting of sculptures-columns arranged in a spiral, occupies a diameter of 44 meters on the naturalistic area and was created by Italian and internationally renowned artists. The spiral culminates in a table at the center of which is placed a solar symbol. To make it, sculptors used "pietra serena", a sandstone extracted from local quarries. Although the site was the site of the battle between Hannibal and the Roman army in 217 BC, there is no correlation between this historical episode and the work of art; on the contrary, it will be up to you to give a personal meaning to the meditative path that you will carry out between the various sculptures. The primordial forms represented by the columns favor the encounter between heaven and earth; let yourself be carried away by an evocative dimension out of time! among these we find the bodies of Napoleonic soldiers and a woman and her fetus you cannot miss a visit to the Museum of the Mummies of Ferentillo to discover Umbria from an unusual point of view you just have to pack your bags and set off to discover these 5 experiences that will leave you to reflect on the intricate relationship between human beings and the universe!  Set your goals high and don't stop until you get there Subscribe to our weekly Newsletter dedicated to the Italian culture Check your email to confirm your subscription and receive special offers Top Attractions Colosseum Santa Maria Maggiore Vatican Museum Uffizi Gallery Pompeii Ruins Milan Cathedral Pantheon Vesuvius Florence Cathedral Sant'Angelo Castle Doge Palace Verona Arena Experiences Positano,Sorrento&Pompeii Tour Chianti Tour& San Gimignano Lake Como from Milan Romantic Sunset Boat Tour in Naples Capri Private Motorboat Tour Private Electric Cart Tour in Rome Abruzzo Basilicata Calabria Campania Emilia Romagna Friuli Venezia Giulia Lazio Liguria Lombardy Marche Molise Piedmont Apulia Sardinia Sicily Tuscany Trentino-Alto Adige Umbria Aosta Valley Veneto Italy like a local Hidden gems How to go to Attractions and Tours Unesco sites Latest news Best Tours and Experiences Art and culture Food and Flavours Best Places to Visit in Italy Places and Tours Exhibitions, events and shows History and Traditions About us Advertise with us Contact us Work with us Metrics details a 68-year-old woman affected with multiple myeloma IgG-k previously treated with thalidomide/dexamethasone was admitted to our department to receive high-dose melphalan therapy (200 mg/m2 on day −2) supported by autologous PBSC infusion (previously collected) with G-CSF until neutrophil recovery diarrhea and diffuse abdominal pain without fever Abdominal examination revealed rebound tenderness Plain abdominal radiography showed dilated bowel loops and multiple air–fluid levels Because of the persistence of symptoms after 48 h and the appearance of low-grade fever (temperature 37.5 °C) an urgent abdominal computed tomography (CT) was performed Wall thickening of the appendix and fat stranding were found and so the patient underwent urgent appendectomy after platelet support initially with piperacillin–tazobactam and metronidazole and then with meropenem was introduced because of low WBC count (3.4 × 109/l) cultural and molecular examinations on biologic fluids were negative revealed an acutely inflamed gangrenous appendix that required the conversion to an open procedure (minilaparotomy) and recovery of the neutrophil count was achieved on day +9 Neither acute nor late abdominal complications occurred Right lower quadrant pain in young patients with leukemia: a surgical perspective Acute appendicitis in children with leukemia and other malignancies: still a diagnostic dilemma Laparoscopic appendectomy in a patient with acute myelogenous leukemia with neutropenia J Laparoendosc Adv Surg Tech A 2007; The models were in the town to apologise to locals after some calls intended for Babestation had been reaching homes in Westport due to a mix-up with the numbers. But most locals in Westport were unconcerned with the phone calls and looked on with amusement as the Babestation models were interviewed by local and national media. Some enterprising local men even managed to force their way past media hoardes and get a selfie with the three models. The models - Alexa Brooke, Priya Young and Vicky Narni - were clearly feeling the elements on a cold and wet day in Westport and took plenty of persuasion before foregoing their umbrellas for pictures. The models and an entourage from Babestation arrived in Ireland West Airport Knock this morning but transport difficulties saw their arrival in Westport delayed by over an hour. Some locals waited it out for over an hour for the models to arrive but must just went about their daily business. There was plenty of hooting of car horns by passing drivers but no cross word for the Babestation entourage from locals. “We’re sorry for any offence we caused anyone. We’re here to make friends with everybody,” Alexa Brooke told reporters.
