College football players across the country are not waiting to submit their names into the transfer portal when it officially opens on Wednesday. They’re getting ahead of free agency by sharing news a day early. Kentucky IOL Marc Nave is the latest to throw his name into the ring
On3’s Pete Nakos reports that Nave will enter the transfer portal when it opens on Wednesday. He is the fifth Kentucky Wildcat to announce his departure following spring practice and the third offensive lineman.
A Toledo, Ohio native, Marc Nave initially committed to play college football at Ohio State. When he reopened his recruitment, Vince Marrow entered the picture. Nave took an official visit to Lexington and committed about a month before signing day.
Nave was listed at 6-foot-4, 330 pounds, during his one season in Lexington. He redshirted and appeared in only one game. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

The transfer portal is open for business and so far we know of four players in the spring portal after 21 players entered the portal in the winter

Kentucky has now lost five players in the spring portal window so far
Kentucky Wildcats offensive lineman Marc Nave is officially entering the NCAA Transfer Portal after one season in Lexington, according to Pete Nakos of On3. The redshirt freshman made the decision following spring practices
becoming the latest Wildcat to seek a fresh start elsewhere as the program reshapes its roster for the upcoming season
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Nave initially committed to Ohio State early in his recruitment
Kentucky emerged as a strong contender thanks in large part to associate head coach Vince Marrow
Nave eventually flipped and signed with the Wildcats in December 2022
Nave spent the 2023 season redshirting and saw limited action
Despite being considered a high-upside prospect on the interior offensive line
he didn’t crack the two-deep rotation as a redshirt freshman and was looking at a similar role heading into 2024
His departure opens up a scholarship for Kentucky and highlights a broader trend of roster turnover across the program
While Nave’s on-field contributions were limited during his short tenure
he was viewed as a developmental piece who could have contributed in future seasons
Kentucky will now look to its younger linemen and incoming transfers to help bolster depth across the offensive front
the Wildcats’ coaching staff has a better picture of where roster needs remain—and where new additions may be needed
Kentucky has lost four other players to the spring transfer portal: defensive lineman Kendrick Gilbert
offensive linemen Anfernee Crease and Daniel Mincey
and cornerback Jiquavious “Quavo” Marshall

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to an emergency call around 3 p.m. Wednesday when a witness found the victim unconscious and bleeding inside their home.
According to witness statements, the attack followed a fight between Ryan Nave, 45, and the victim, who knew each other.
NCSO investigators arriving at a home on Robinhood Drive found the victim suffering from nine stab wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
Following the attack, deputies said Nave fled, prompting authorities to send air support and K9 units in an extensive search operation.
Officers eventually located and arrested Nave approximately one mile from the crime scene on Hirth Road at approximately 10 p.m. after a citizen spotted him and called it in.
“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our community,” Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper stated. “I want to thank our detectives for their tireless efforts in apprehending the suspect and holding him accountable for his actions, as well as our citizens for being on the lookout for suspicious persons and assisting law enforcement.”
Nave faces second-degree attempted murder charges.

Marc Nave hopes his faith can have an impact on kids
Before Kentucky football opened its preseason camp
freshman offensive lineman Marc Nave of Toledo was baptized at Southland Christian Church in Lexington
“I had been thinking about it for a very long time and from just being in a Christian faith for a very long time on growing up
this is always something that I thought about but I didn’t really take action on,” said Nave
“So as I got older and started to grow stronger in my faith
I felt like I just wanted to take that next step
they did an amazing job setting me up with good people to help me get connected
the multi area director for Central Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Athletes
I can’t thank him enough for what he did for me,” Nave said
Nave shared news about his baptism on social media and felt it was important to do so
“Jesus wants us to share the Gospel as much as we can and bring as many people close to God as we can
I am blessed as a Kentucky football player to have a platform to be able to do that,” he said
“I hope it is a message that gets to a lot of kids
Eternal life with Jesus Christ in heaven is the main goal
Everything in this world is going to end at some point so you need that bond with Jesus for the afterlife
Ohio State and others as a three-star recruit
He did not give up a sack or quarterback pressure his senior season when Central Catholic went 16-0 to win its second straight state title
He was also on the basketball and track teams and excelled in the classroom to become a National Honor Society member
Kentucky recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow noted when Nave signed with Kentucky that he was a “name to remember” because of his potential
“I got put in a position with a lot of really good people
Coach (Eric) Wolford coming back to coach the offensive line here to go with a lot of other good coaches here,” Nave said
“They will be able to put me in the best position to maximize my ability so I feel like right now I’m in the best spot that I can be in
I got great coaches and teammates around me so the main thing right now is just putting the work in.”
If this turns out to be a redshirt season while he learns from veteran offensive linemen
He says if he’s redshirted that will not impact his work mentality
You can learn and pick up things from each and every one on this team
Those guys in the (offensive line) room with me are really good
so I’m thankful to be in a room like that,” he said
Baptism is very significant declaration to the universe
to the good angels and to the devil &!fallen angels that he has chosen to “cross the River” (via baptism as a symbol) to leave any and all ungodly things behind as he pursues the goal ("I pursue toward the goal for the prize to which God in Christ Jesus has called me upward." – Philippians 3:14) Recovery Version
This is much greater in eternity than the games played
Although I get overly excited wanted my Cats to win
this act by a young man is a sober reminder of what Carrie’s eternal weight in our lives
May the Lord Jesus keep Marc Nave in his watch over the nations
Larry for boldly and graciously sharing such a marvelous testimony on VV
All of BBN had better be praying for a better Kentucky performance against Georgia
A win will take nothing less than a miracle
I am just hoping it will be respectable…God’s will be done
It’s a delicate balance sometimes between our exuberance for UK sports without burdening our seeking first the Kingdom of God
A forfeit (everyone calls in sick since they will probably feel ill knowing what they will face when UGA sets foot on the field) may be the best idea
there are games where UK FB would be better off to forfeit
Use that weekend to better prepare for the next opponent instead of getting beat mentally AND physically

By John Kirkpatrick
Owensboro-Daviess County Central Dispatch has introduced an artificial intelligence system to enhance emergency call responses. Director Paul Nave said the local dispatch center is one of the first in the southeastern U.S. to adopt AI technology, which is expected to streamline processes and improve response times.
“This technology is designed to help us multitask more efficiently. In 911, we’re constantly juggling multiple streams of information, from the phone to the radio, and this system transcribes radio communications almost instantaneously,” Nave said. “We can now see what was said on the screen in real-time, eliminating the need to replay recordings.”
The AI software, called Delphini, is designed for real-time public safety communications. Nave said it can recognize key emergency terms such as “second alarm” or “Mayday,” flag the words on the screen, and highlight them in bold red for dispatchers to quickly address. He said this feature enhances the safety of officers and firefighters by reducing the chance of missing critical calls for assistance.
“The system doesn’t replace jobs; it enhances them. This is ultimately a matter of officer and firefighter safety,” Nave explained. “If we can save 15 to 20 seconds by responding instantly, that could be the difference between life and death.”
Nave frequently attends national 911 conferences, where he encountered Delphini and recognized its potential to benefit Owensboro-Daviess County.
“This technology is still developing, and there are challenges along the way. But we’re committed to improving it with each step, as it learns and adapts over time,” he said.
The department will spend the next several months refining the AI through continual use and feedback, allowing the system to “learn” local speech patterns and specific terms unique to the area’s emergency calls, Nave said. He added that the system receives a batch of corrections every two weeks, becoming progressively more accurate with each update.
“Our enemy is time in the world of 911. If we can shave seconds off each task, we’re succeeding,” Nave said. “This technology is a powerful new tool to help us serve our community.”
