Italian club Piacenza sacked two head coaches on Tuesday
with Simone Bentivoglio hired and fired on the same day
Italian football’s fourth tier but spent the majority of the 1990s in Serie A
On Tuesday morning they sacked head coach Carmine Parlato along with the club’s director of sport Alessio Sestu
was appointed and oversaw one training session before his contract was terminated later in the day
was replaced by Stefano Rossini — who had been sacked by Piacenza in October to be replaced by Parlato
the Serie D club appointed Carlo Maria Zerminiani as their new director of sport
Bentivoglio was convicted in a match-fixing scandal in 2011
in which he served a 13-month suspension from football
Piacenza were also implicated in the scandal; the club were handed a four-point deduction in the 2011–12 season which alongside a further five-point deduction over their financial difficulties
saw them relegated and subsequently declared bankrupt
Piacenza were most recently in Serie A in the 2002-03 campaign and spent the next eight seasons in Serie B
In 2012 they were re-founded as Piacenza Calcio 1919
who have spent the following years in lower-league Italian football
Piacenza are currently 11th in Serie D with 14 points from 12 league matches
and defeated Villa Valle 2-1 in the Coppa Italia Serie D on Wednesday

she tried in every way to get rid of this reject."
The boy was arrested after several people told police they witnessed him pushing Aurora off the balcony
Other witnessses came forward to say they saw the boy assault Aurora on the street in recent weeks

One of the great undiscovered brands of Italy is cashmere specialist Piacenza 1733
a slumbering giant which is waking up with considerable flair
Piacenza 1733 is one of the lost venerable luxury brands in the world
Its founding family still owns the company
and Vasiliy Piacenza a gentlemanly member of its 14th generation guided editors and buyers around its stand in Pitti
like famed marques such as Zegna or Loro Piana
Piacenza 1733 concentrates on truly exceptional quality
the family concern has continued to expand
acquiring Lanificio Piemontese and Lanificio Cerruti
was one of the best half-dozen menswear designers of the past half century
The Piacenza clan produce such top-notch quality fabrics they supply the likes of Chanel and Hermès
Now they are focusing more on their own label Piacenza 1733
“We like to call it smart luxury and not quiet luxury,” smiled Vasiliy
who shows off some marvelously cool ikat-inspired mohair cashmere sweaters
their furry finish created by hand with real thistles
The plant that forms the emblem to the brand logo
vicuna and alpaca combined in super light Aran Islands sweaters with three-dimensional dots with pointelle motifs and geometric rhomboids
While their tailoring impressed with a series of graphic Argyle or Fair Isle patterns used in soft gentlemanly boho coats
from making the threads to creating our own ready-to-wear,” underlines Vasiliy
further raising the profile of Piacenza 1733
the most venerable of marques that now seems very with it
Off-bike attitude is all the rage at Pitti
which unveiled its first fashion capsule collection
chosen by the world’s greatest cyclist Tadej Pogacar
Colnago’s off-bike collection avoids technical performance fabrics
From classy and light cashmere polo shirts and neat cotton aertexes
to sweatshirts and a great padded safari jacket with high collar
All made in black or midnight blue; all finished with subtle gold stripe; all completed with an all-black shamrock logo
No wonder Colnago titles itself as a legacy Italian brand “with the soul of champions.” A savvy offering from Colnago
which recently celebrated its 70th anniversary by launching this leisurewear capsule collection
Presented on a stand featuring the Steelnovo - a stunning steel bicycle
their clothes have the most remarkable hand
TRC is a 50/50 joint venture between two family-owned north Italian companies
the 80-year-old Candiani famed for its advanced denim
an over 100-year-old advanced apparel maker
TRC’s collections certainly combined the best of both houses most notably its Mineral Denim line
Made in the darkest of palettes – deep blues
black and shimmering anthracite - and cut generously
this was the best take at Pitti on workwear – a huge and growing trend in menswear
combine to make some very different modern fashion
Imitation is not the highest form of flattery at Luis Figo
The famed Portuguese footballer presented his latest fashion collection in Pitti
and it was a blatant copy of Brunello Cucinelli
Luis Figo is not the only brand to have pinched Brunello’s aesthetic of soft tones
classy tailoring and breezy attitude – Eleventy and Seinse have copied a few as well
This new reality brings together six brands from the Italian textile supply chain under a single umbrella
The new entity’s birth was announced at the last edition of Milano Unica and includes all the acquisitions made by the Piacenza family running the historic Biella-based wool mills Lanificio Fratelli Piacenza and Piacenza 1733
"The acquisitions have allowed us to increasingly verticalize our operations
making us become fast and able to respond reactively to market needs
we have chosen to operate at a strategic level as a group
working in all realities in an integrated way
enhancing the peculiarities of the companies and maintaining the valuable workforce
Today we make it official to be a Group," said Vasiliy Piacenza
Vasiliy Piacenza is also one of the protagonists of Fashion Tabloid
a recently issued publication presenting a special feature dedicated to the T-Generation
those young entrepreneurs who are redesigning the future of made-in-Italy textile industry
"We wanted to pay homage to the origins of our history
a fundamental element of our realities," commented Vasiliy Piacenza
"After extensive research in family archives and documents
we found old photographs of the Felice Piacenza Woolen Mill School
"We were fascinated by the multiple symbols of the wool industry depicted on the facade of the school
including a wool bobbin and the monogram of the Lanificio Scuola," he continued
Both symbols were given a makeover by stylizing their image and drawing inspiration from the typeface of a well-known Piedmont region typographer
We believe it can be a trademark capable of adapting to new contexts
a spokesperson for a strong link with the group's roots," he added

Mass Propers for Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter:
says the Lord; whoever comes to me will never hunger
Preface II of Easter: It is truly right and just
but in this time above all to laud you yet more gloriously
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed
Through him the children of light rise to eternal life and the halls of the heavenly Kingdom are thrown open to the faithful; for his Death is our ransom from death
and in his rising the life of all has risen
every people exults in your praise and even the heavenly Powers
sing together the unending hymn of your glory
we believe that we shall also live with Christ
Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter: O God
who open wide the gates of the heavenly Kingdom to those reborn of water and the Holy Spirit
pour out on your servants an increase of the grace you have bestowed
they may lack nothing that in your kindness you have promised
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit

After taking part in the Crusades against the Albigensians
he used his inheritance to free Christian prisoners held by the Moors
He later founded the Order of Our Lady of Mercy (Mercedarians) beginning in 1218 devoted to ransoming Christians
John the Apostle was taken to Rome under the Emperor Domitian and plunged into a cauldron of boiling oil; by a striking miracle he came out safe and sound from this torture
This disposition to forgive did not die with St
but has continued to be one of the most characteristic virtues of the saint
Benedict as related in the Dialogues of St
that he was continuously and severely persecuted by a delinquent priest who lived in the neighborhood of the monastery
in order to protect the virtue and the vocations of his disciples
Benedict decided to abandon the site of his monastery and move to another location
He and his monks had hardly left their monastery when word was brought that the persecutor had died suddenly
Contrary to the expectation of the messenger who brought the news
Benedict broke out in loud lamentations that his enemy had died suddenly and had not had an opportunity to repent
The saints see so much more clearly than we the relative unimportance of the hardships and injustices we suffer in this world
and the importance before all else of the sinner's being converted and repenting of his sins
How long and how persistently we harbor grudges in our hearts against those who have offended us
How difficult we find it to forgive freely and from our hearts
Yet we proclaim ourselves to be Christians and to practice all the Christian virtues
Do we forget that our Lord told us that if we expect our prayers to be heard
and our sacrifices to be pleasing in the sight of God
and go first and make peace with our brother
Nor is the disposition to forgive our enemies peculiar only to the saints and martyrs of the ancient Church; nor should we expect it to be
and if His disciples were commanded to forgive their enemies in His day
Father Pro was executed in Mexico some years ago
he was asked by his executioner if he had anything he wished to do
or anything he wished to say before the sentence was executed
Father Pro said that there was; he wished to be given an opportunity to pray for his executioners and to give them his blessing before he died
During the persecutions in Spain during the late civil war
one of the religious who was to be put to death by the communists was led to his death with his hands bound
asked to be allowed to give his blessing to the members of the firing squad
It is said that the officer in charge of the guard untied his hands
and then swiftly struck off the hands of the priest with his sword
raised his right arm and traced the sign of the cross over the heads of his murderers
This is the true sign of the authentic martyr
the characteristic mark of the true saint of the Church
Who His own self bore our sins in His body upon the tree" (Epistle)
The redemption of man as accomplished by Christ might have been accomplished in other ways
but none of them would have been as perfect as the way Christ chose
God might have forgiven man outright without requiring any satisfaction for sin
This would have been a splendid manifestation of the infinite mercy of God
but it would have ignored His infinite justice
God might have refused redemption and forgiveness altogether
and this would have been in complete conformity with His justice
but it would not have satisfied His infinite mercy
Perfect redemption required that both God's mercy and justice be satisfied
Any act of satisfaction on his part would only have been of limited and finite value
An act of reparation offered by a divine person would have been adequate
since it would not have been offered by the offending party
The only possibility of a perfect redemption was for the divine person to become incarnate
could perform acts of infinite value; since he was a human being
He could act in the name of the human race
and offer an act of reparation which would be both adequate and authentic
But the martyrdom of the latter Apostle called for a scene worthy of the event
was not a sufficiently glorious land for such a combat
whither Peter had transferred his Chair and where he died on his cross
and where Paul had bowed down his venerable head beneath the sword
alone deserved the honor of seeing the beloved disciple march on to martyrdom
with that dignity and sweetness which are the characteristics of this veteran of the Apostolic College
In the year 95 John appeared before the tribunal of pagan Rome
the worship of a Jew who had been crucified under Pontius Pilate
He was considered a superstitious and rebellious old man
and it was time to rid Asia of his presence
sentenced to an ignominious and cruel death
A huge cauldron of boiling oil was prepared in front of the Latin Gate
The sentence ordered that the preacher of Christ be plunged into this bath
The hour had come for the second son of Salome to partake of his Master’s chalice
the boiling liquid lost all its heat; the Apostle felt no scalding
when they took him out again he felt all the vigor of his youthful years restored to him

XNL Piacenza-Centro per le arti contemporanee della Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano dedicates an exhibition to Giovanni Fattori
a central figure of the Macchiaioli movement and among the most significant artists of the nineteenth-century European painting scene: Giovanni Fattori 1825-1908
produced by Dario Cimorelli Editore and realized with the support of the Banca di Piacenza
in collaboration with the Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern Art
the City of Livorno and the Livorno Foundation
held on the occasion of the bicentenary of his birth and the forthcoming publication of the catalog raisonné edited by Giuliano Matteucci
aims to rediscover the figure of Fattori through a new key to interpreting the artist and his production
highlighting his originality and uniqueness in the context of 19th-century Italian art.Giovanni Fattori was able to excel in every artistic genre
From his early experiments with the macchia technique
which revolutionized the traditional aesthetic canons of the 19th century
scenes of peasant life and views of the Maremma
a region that embodied that rural world so beloved by the artist and contrasted with the frenzy of the modern city
Also prominent among his works are depictions of military subjects
both in the solemn and grandiose battles of the Wars of Independence and in the more intimate moments of garrison life
In the face of disappointment at the failure of many hopes placed in the Unification of Italy
his production is distinguished by the absence of celebratory rhetoric
It is precisely this consistency and authenticity that make Fattori one of the most significant witnesses of the Italian Risorgimento
A special focus in the exhibition will be devoted to his graphic production
consisting of etchings that demonstrate his ability to innovate artistic language through a technique complementary to painting
Thanks to the collaboration with theIstituto Centrale per la Grafica in Rome
unpublished drawings and etchings will be on display that aim to document the artist’s stylistic evolution and his impact on 20th-century Italian graphics
The exhibition also benefits from the contribution of the Matteucci Institute of Viareggio and Milan
which will provide a selection of works representative of Fattori’s production
from the “macchia” period to developments anticipating artistic trends of the following century
Fattori’s legacy profoundly influenced twentieth-century culture
as shown by critical essays and works by Ugo Ojetti
influencing directors such as Luchino Visconti
who captured his visual style in masterpieces such as Senso (1954) and The Leopard (1963)
The exhibition concludes with a section devoted to the contemporary
in which the work of photographer Elger Esser will offer an unprecedented visual reflection
characterized by a remarkable balance between landscape and historical memory
establish a profound dialogue with Fattori’s 19th-century naturalism
This comparison of different eras enriches the exhibition
The Art of XNL program is promoted by Rete Cultura Piacenza
which includes the Foundation of Piacenza and Vigevano
the Chamber of Commerce of Emilia and the Diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio

Gilmore 7,5: He plays a great first half and shoots with very high percentages
In the second half he has less of an offensive impact but gives his contribution on defense
Gajic 6+: he plays 12 minutes in which he scores a triple and also gives a good contribution on defense
Suljanovic 4: he plays only 4 minutes and scores two free throws
From Almeida 4: in 8 minutes of play he scores 3 points
takes as many rebounds but also commits three fouls
Oaks 5,5: It's not a brilliant performance from the captain
He makes several errors in shooting but still gives a hand in both halves of the field
Marks 8: MVP of the match with 23 points scored
He knows how to be dangerous and easily drinks defenders when he has the ball in his hands
Snakes 8: key offensive player for Piacenza
He finished with a double double of 15 points and 11 rebounds
Bartoli 8,5: He creates some great shots (17 points) and plays very well with his teammates (6 assists)
He also fights a lot under the boards and takes 6 rebounds
Coach Manzo 8: he plays every card available to chase the feat and keep hope alive
His team dominates the match from start to finish
fights hard in defense and the 9 balls recovered (considering that Piacenza lost nine and Brindisi recovered four) say a lot about the defensive intensity
he makes a lot of mistakes with the ball and almost never finds the basket
He gets 6 rebounds but on the court he seems to be non-existent
Laquintana 8,5: scores a very difficult bomb on the buzzer of the first quarter and from that moment he actually enters the game
Top scorer of the game with 24 points and among the best for Brindisi
He also takes 6 rebounds and makes as many assists
Arletti 4,5: He starts very well and scores 7 consecutive points in the initial phase of the match
in a short time he commits three fouls and is no longer able to make an impact
Of Cadia 3,5: perhaps his worst performance with the Brindisi jersey
given that the lion who fought giving his all under the boards today has never been seen
He plays almost 14 minutes but does not take even a rebound and his only basket comes in the last quarter of the game
Phantom 6-: He returns from an injury and plays for 20 minutes
especially in a game where the whole team struggled
Ogden 8: he spends a lot under the backboards
often the defense doubles him but he is good at making baskets with a high difficulty rate
the player from Brindisi with the highest minutes and at the end you could see that he was exhausted
recovers 7 rebounds and gives 6 assists to his teammates
Radonjic 7+: he throws himself on every ball and spends a lot on rebounds (7 recovered)
His teammates struggled to serve him with good offloads to allow him to shoot from long distance and he was forced to create the shots himself
Shoemaker 5,5: He also struggled a lot in this match from an offensive point of view
He missed several shots and lost too many balls during the management phase
Coach Bucchi 6-: conceding 56 points in the first half is a sign of a defense that is too light
the team increases the defensive intensity and in the third quarter we finally see a desire for redemption and they reach the tie
Then a couple of consecutive blunders and all the efforts made previously are wasted
It should be noted that they always have two players out due to injury

Coming soon is an exhibition in Piacenza and Cremona dedicated to Giovan Battista Trotti
The exhibition entitled Il Cavalier Malosso
A Cremonese Artist at the Court of the Farnese
was born out of the collaboration between the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese in Piacenza and the Diocesan Museum in Cremona and is spread over two venues
each focusing on a specific aspect of this late 16th-century painter’s production. In Piacenza
the exhibition will open April 10 and conclude July 13
a work of great historical and artistic value
depicting theAdoration of the Shepherds and dated 1595
have recently resurfaced on the antiques market
The discovery and reconstruction of this triptych was possible thanks to collaboration between institutions
who identified the current owners of the two side wings
and will focus on Malosso’s workshop
and drawings made by the artist and his workshop will be on display
along with a small selection of materials used by painters of the time
to provide an overview of the painting techniques of the time
the public will have the opportunity to witness live the restoration of a particularly significant work
discovering the different stages of the conservation process
The initiative is made possible thanks to the support of the Banca di Piacenza
but also provides valuable financial support
Also crucial was the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona
Mantua and Pavia and the Community Foundation of the Province of Cremona
which house an important cycle of frescoes executed by Malosso
testimony to his skill and versatility as a painter
As these rooms are currently home to the Parma Provincial Command of the Carabinieri and one of the RIS headquarters
the extraordinary access is made possible thanks to an ongoing dialogue with these institutions
The exhibition is accompanied by a single catalog
which offers an in-depth look at Malosso’s work and the artistic context in which he operated
enriched by an extensive iconographic apparatus and critical essays
is a valuable tool for understanding Malosso’s role in late 16th-century painting
so that's an achievement that won't be missed by us
but we know we've got three more games to keep building on that."

And will Joe Schmidt be tempted to stick around for Rugby World Cup 2027
Italy secured a solid 24-8 victory over Japan in a friendly match at the Beltrametti Stadium in Piacenza as part of their preparations for the WXV tournament
spending much of the opening 10 minutes in Italy’s 22
Their early opportunities went unconverted however with Italy’s defence holding firm
A handling error by Kawamura and a turnover forced by Muzzo and Giordano helped keep Japan at bay
Japan did manage to open the scoring in the 17th minute with a penalty from Otsuka to take the lead 3-0
Rigoni’s interception initiated Italy’s first major attacking threat
which led to a lineout deep in Japan’s half
After sustained pressure Italy broke through in the 30th minute when Rigoni set up Muzzo for the first try with Rigoni converting to make it 7-3
Ostuni Minuzzi added a second try shortly before halftime – sprinting past Matsumura to extend Italy’s lead to 12-3
A potential third try for Italy was disallowed due to obstruction
Italy continued to control the match after the break
Five minutes after the restart Ostuni Minuzzi capitalized on a misjudged bounce by Kagawa to score her second try – bringing the score to 19-3
Italy’s defence remained solid though as they effectively contained Japan’s attempts to respond on the scoreboard
Italy’s fourth try came on the hour mark through Muzzo who finished a break from Mannini to put the result beyond doubt
Japan managed a consolation try in the 64th minute when Matsumura crossed the line to make it 24-8
Italy’s next match is against Scotland in the WXV opener
The Red Roses might have racked up their 17th successive victory but there is much to work on after the latest win against the Black Ferns

Is the Queensland boss the right man to lead Australia forward
Northampton Saints found a way of beating the fabled Jacques Nienaber blitz and inflicting another 'horrific' Champions Cup loss on the Leinster giants
Warren Gatland forged a sense of togetherness in his 2013 Lions but faced personal 'vitriol' after leaving out a legend
Now why the heck would you like to see a “fish out water” in the 10 jumper for the AB’s
I'd say the shield should be given greater weighting then
Sevens is very unique though
More like golf where a team can have a storming tournament and then not so much the next tourno
The nature of it really means (which is great for the sport) that it's very unpredictable
it doesn't feel right that one tournament result defines the sevens season
Real winners were Argentina
The WHOLE season shouldn't be defined by one tournament
This is not one tourno but a SERIES of tournos
I just feel that's different to the playoffs of a SR/EPL/URC/Top14 season
Good theory SK
Super Rugby and the northern comps have different strengths and weaknesses and I'm not saying one is better than the other
However the length of the northern season means that you have to either rest your best players a lot or run them into the ground
which leads to the issue you've described
One of the things I like about SR is that the test players get a longer off/preseason and only have miss a couple of games
So they are match hardened without being overworked
Agreed
but I think he was saying that taking the kick for goal was 50/50
Now that’s a match up that’s way too close to call
but Saints absolutely have a great shot at the title here
Absolutely smacked of rotation
it definitely wasn’t appropriate and they totally underestimated Saints
All the commentary beforehand was entirely dismissive of Saints and it was poetic to see things play the way they did
RTE describing Saints as a mere “speed bump”
Kearney stating Pollock “had a target on his back coming to Dublin” and he would be better served “keeping his head down and learning his trade”
Horgan saying Leinster only needed to be at 80%
Jeez they even turned down the 3 to level and go again
and that’s despite having been taught the same lesson in previous tight CC losses
Didn’t you mention something similar in the Irish team attitude about a lax attitude pre France in March
what was Einstein’s definition of madness again
something about doing the same thing over and over and still getting the same result
Ps not sure at all Saints are best side in England and doubt they even win the 24 final without Obano’s 22nd minute red card
Ryan hasn’t been starting ahead of McCarthy for a while
either for Leinster or Ireland and RG was bought in for these games

Current record is 52-40 for the Springboks
The old adage holds - test matches are won up front…
Interesting article
Love certainly had impact at 10 against a very strong Chiefs side
goal kicking and general play enabled his team to beat them comfortably
If he can continue that form he would be an asset for the ABs so should at least be in the squad
Pretty well
The wallabies have a good record against the springboks
Ther has been some talk of ‘good cop bad cop’ with Joe playing the tough love role A
but Joe won’t be there for at least one year
esp with Les slated to finish one year after a WC in 2028
I think the choice reflects the current battle for power between Waugh and Dan Herbert
and you’re point of comp with Ewen McKenzie may turn out ot be all too accurate
It is not a chocie which will lead to unity of purpose in the long run
it will simply expose the flaws at the time of making it
The next idea to try might be fornting up with the first XV on those tough tours of SA pre-Champions Cup semi
Get them battle hardened upstairs for the tests ahead
Previous games with Lienster showcased the full range of his abilities though Tim
just have to give him the full 80 not half a bleedin hour
In that case you are wrong JW
Joe Heyes the toe-cruncher?😂
Lot of pressure on him to get it right as an Englishman coaching Ireland Chiefs
In fairness Eng’s D was far better by the end of the 6N than it was in the first half of the tourney Tom
ITALIAN club Piacenza have terminated their manager's contract after just ONE training session
A remarkable day began with sporting director Alessio Setsu being dismissed and replaced by Carlo Maria Zerminiani
One of Zerminiani's first acts as Piacenza chief was to appoint Simone Bentivoglio as the new head coach
Bentivoglio pleaded guilty to a 13-month ban for his part in a betting scandal which took place in 2011
And fans of fourth-tier side Piacenza immediately showed their displeasure at Bentivoglio being unveiled as their new manager
A protest was carried out by supporters during the head coach's first training session
They released a statement which read: "Piacenza Calcio announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract of coach Simone Bentivoglio
"The technical management of the first team is entrusted to Mr

five draws and four defeats from their opening 12 matches
The golden era of the football club came in the 1990s when they were promoted twice in four years and reached Serie A in 1995
before they were relegated back down to the second division in 2000
They did gain promotion straight back to Serie A where they spent a further two seasons - their last top-flight campaign ending in 2003

Cantu wins progressively every quarter and finally surpasses Piacenza for 87-68
sending the very young Beltrami and Viganò to the basket in the last minute
Against the last in the standings (still determined to play from here to the end) it arrives for theSaint Bernard water another one injection of confidence after the one – more massive for understandable reasons – of the midweek success at the last second against Cividale
At the end of the game we ask coach Brienza what would he take with him from the winning encore
in addition to the rediscovered condition in his means: «Being self-confident and solid in defense again to try to have our own identity and direct the game on the track that is most favorable to us»
tormented month I take with me the will of the whole team not to give up
the determination of the whole group in wanting to get out of the crisis period
In about ten days with Livorno (Cantù has already played for the 28th matchday with Cividale and will postpone the 29th matchday with Nardò to April 2
ed.) we must start again with the same face and the same optimism: it is the right attitude to make sure that things work
with the shooting percentages that then rise by reflex»
Without the injured person DeNicolao (another “bad” of the season with uncertain recovery times)
but also without any more worries and with a Moraschini (13 points
6 rebounds) excellent in alternating with Valentini (10
already against Piacenza a completely different attacking fluidity is seen for Acqua San Bernardo
The scoresheet also highlights the 18 points with 4 assists of the top-scorer McGee
the 10 points of Baldi Rossi and 13 with 8 rebounds Hogue
very skilled not only at finding himself in the colored area but also at finding the balls that wander there and transforming them into two points
1 rebound) less decisive also because less involved (but you can also read it backwards)
among the factors to find and add under the basket there is also Okeke (7 points
2 rebounds with Piacenza after the bench with Cividale)
In the press room coach Brienza talks about “Progetto Leonardo” and explains the development plan: «Leonardo needs to play after two years of stoppage
but of finding the rhythm of the match as is gradually happening
At the moment I'm satisfied and very confident»
Asked about what to add to the newfound confidence
even Captain Baldi Rossi he doesn't hold back in answering just as he didn't hold back in putting his face out there during the recent dark period: «The first thing is to be able to have steadiness during the entire 40 minutes
because even with Piacenza we initially had a swing in the result that we could have avoided
we have to be good at finding another balance in the team: Ricky is giving everyone confidence in his role as a playmaker
but obviously he plays it with different characteristics compared to De Nicolao and therefore it is also up to us to adapt to allow him to do it at his best and to continue to exploit his penetration skills»
Anything else to add to the newfound confidence
there is one thing: the calm of the environment
Acqua San Bernardo will have to face Livorno at PalaDesio
then go on an away trip to Udine and then host Rimini: a decidedly challenging “triptych”
which could relaunch Cantù towards the top but which against the current top teams in the class could also foresee some stumbles
will then be not to lose your cool: to also maintain confidence
CONTEMPORARY ART MAGAZINE SINCE 1980 More...
I always try to show that nature is both inside and outside of us»
It is a perfect synthesis of the multifaceted artistic creativity of Brigitta Rossetti (born in Piacenza in 1974 and spent a large part of her life abroad) who
thanks to a careful curatorship by Alberto Mattia Martini
presents the last decade of her artistic career at the Sala Mostre of Musei Civici in Piacenza and
Met by the writer for an artistic promenade in the heart of the path
Rossetti is keen first of all to show the wealth of subjects and actors who have collaborated in various ways on the project
consortia have contributed to creating a quality installation that is well above the level of a ‘small city’
designed by the artist together with the curator Martini
the gallery owner Giovanni Bonelli and the architect Stefano Orsi
installation view at Musei Civici di Piacenza
But what is eudaimonìa for Brigitta Rossetti and why are we faced with the last one
the word has two souls within itself: the good
And so by last we mean the final goal to be reached to obtain happiness as the purpose of life in its essential connection with nature»
it must be said after having observed the works exhibited at the Civic Museums of Piacenza
presents itself with countless guises that range from the romantic to the ritual
and still small elements here and there of a deceitfully stepmotherly nature
the result of a university career that touched on literature
the constant dialogue of a woman born and grown up in the countryside
The range of materials used by the artist in her creative process is very wide: acrylic
installations and medium-large canvases that are added to the photographic
sometimes contaminated by poetic and moving recitations of the artist herself
In this multifaceted universe there is the artist’s dialogue with herself
there is the need to bring back into fashion convivial rituals that have now disappeared
there is the awareness of the finitude of time and there is
The works are just over thirty and therefore
we proceed to a necessary anthology of what emerges with greater force
Vanitas is certainly an installation that attracts attention: two triangular and specular tables on which are placed objects in organic material separated by a wall of plasterboard and acrylic on absorbent paper – almost a technical feature of Rossetti – which
in addition to performing an engaging aesthetic function
we listen to the typical sound context of those who are at the table to feast: it is Lunch
a sound work that invites us to a moment of the day at risk of extinction
It is useless to look for a clear figuration in the works of Brigitta Rossetti
If there is a recognizable element in the large spaces covered in acrylic (often on the usual absorbent paper) or in the large photographic and vertical spaces
this element is the flower (or a hint of a flower)
in a declination that proposes elements of still life in a modern key
Another element of visual recognition is constituted by some full-bodied pigmentations on the surface
pigmentations that simultaneously create discontinuities and correspondences in the act of observing
The above is fully present in the two pictorial cycles entitled Lost Spring and above all in the grandiose cycle that gives its title to the exhibition
appropriately placed at the end of the museum exhibition path
Rossetti’s artistic urgency bursts forth with force
almost a vital cycle that the artist places on the canvas (energy in the creative process
They are large canvases that capture the gaze and immerse us in a dual reaction
on the necessity of the relationship between man and nature and on the many vibrant layers (Layers is the title of another canvas by Rossetti) of the human soul
The monumental Farnese complex that houses the museum rooms
having been born as a citadel and fortress
Brigitta Rossetti offers a sample of her (also) multimedia education
made up of the artist’s gestures and words
Rituals is an eleven-minute video composed of six acts in which we seem to immerse ourselves in the artist’s dreamlike universe
in the «creative void when there is nothing yet»
in a coming and going around a chair of an almost vestal who meditates on some personal objects from the past
the projection on the rounded wall of the tower perfectly matches the space of the movements in the video with the real one
We cannot leave this place without stopping in front of the large installation that
perfectly refers to the title given to it by the artist
is composed of a dozen wooden bases of different heights that
here too in layers that include expanded polyurethane and absorbent paper
is proposed as a set of works from urban windows
The window is an element that plays an important role in Brigitta Rossetti’s poetics: just as there is an inside and an outside of the self and of one’s own conscience
so there is an inside and an outside when our visual space is occupied by a window
embellished by a very interesting wall triad of Giardini pensili (Hanging gardens) (graphic works and cotton print)
dialogues with the sense of hearing thanks to another sound installation that refers to the chirping of cicadas (the title is Song of chicadas)
together we visit three other exhibition venues
but the owners’ willingness to open up to what is moving in art is now a must here in Piacenza
In the elegant and neoclassical lemon house we find ourselves in front of another piece from the Lost Spring project: the canvas confirms the strength of an artistic expressiveness capable of expressing the sublime and the beautiful
«is a piece of an ongoing project that wants to bring me closer to slightly more urban colors»
along the right nave of the Lombard Gothic Basilica dedicated to San Francesco
the theme of the Giardini pensili returns magnificently set up
with a triptych composed of almost imperceptible and reticular rectangles that dialogue perfectly with the liturgical silence of the place
The exhibition is accompanied by the digital catalogue of the same name
and I feel obliged to thank writing because it drives my life
I cultivate within me multitudes that lead me to investigate
and deepen every cultural and creative expression
always trying to be clear and documented in the contents

The region of Emilia Romagna is not only very much above the radar when it comes to Italy’s most celebrated foods; it’s smack-dab in the center of much of what we associate with Italian deliciousness
When pondering the great wines of Italy, rarely do the wines of Emilia-Romagna, long associated with sweet and fizzy Lambrusco and unremarkable table wines
we think of the heady and age-worthy wines of Piedmont and Tuscany
Enter: Colli Piacentini in the westernmost part of Emilia-Romagna
this hilly enclave (Colli Piacentini translates to “the hills of Piacenza”) along the border of Lombardy is dotted with medieval castles and vineyards that climb up the Apennine Mountains
It shares the same latitude as Turin in Piedmont and encompasses the five valleys of Val Tidone
What separates this area from other parts of Emilia-Romagna is the range of elevation and soil
Vineyards reach as high as 1,500 feet above sea level
with soils that aren’t fertile but are nonetheless rich in minerality thanks to red clay
while the region shares the same latitude as the Langhe
The resulting combination yields wines with body and power as well as distinct minerality and acidity thanks to the soil composition
It’s a story that’s been told many times before about a now-famous wine region: Area once known for mass-produced
low-quality bulk wines undergoes quality movement and is now the darling of somms
While the same story can be told about Colli Piacentini
Whether tasting the wines of the region or listening to its producers talk about them
terms like “unusual,” “peculiar,” and “curious” consistently come up far more than possibly accurate yet tired descriptors like “powerful,” “age-worthy,” and “top-quality” — words more typically associated with a hot new wine region
Colli Piacentini does not produce Lambrusco like the rest of Emilia-Romagna
opting instead for still wines of Gutturnio
a blend of Barbera and Croatina; Malvasia di Candia Aromatica; and Ortrugo
The fact that Piacenza is a border town — surrounded by the more famous regions of Tuscany and Piedmont — means it has taken much of its influence from others
perhaps originally creating a bit of an identity crisis of its own
While this could have caused the region to simply model itself after its more famous cousins
Colli Piacentini is instead taking the best of its neighbors and forging its own path with a small pack of innovators leading the way
Lucio Salamini, son of Felice Salamini, who founded Luretta — perhaps the most prominent symbol of Colli Piacentini’s renaissance — feels Piacenza’s border location has contributed in an important way to the region’s wine identity
“Colli Piacentini is remote and undiscovered
at the same time is at the center of the peninsula
and many commercial roads intertwine here; therefore it is at the center of a constant circulation of ideas and projects,” says Salamini
the new generation of producers are interpreting the area with great enthusiasm and a personal take
and the result is wines with extraordinary personality.”
Luretta’s self-described “disruptive and at the same time mysterious personality” promises to lure visitors with wines that are carefully produced
Salamino eschews typical local production methods in favor of traditional French techniques
and an emphasis on environmental sustainability
he aims to increase the body and complexity of the wines while still preserving the unique terroir of the region
creating wines that — in an interesting departure from chasing wine scores and critical acclaim — “stimulate curiosity.”
Others in Colli Piacentini have been on this quest for decades now. Long considered a pioneer of the region, La Tosa — run by Ferruccio and Stefano Pizzamiglio
who purchased the land in 1985 — has been cultivating the potential of the region since long before anyone truly recognized just how special the terroir was
in total contrast to the production in Emilia Romagna
six more producers) have been following the path of our territory
and by a rather hot climate,” says Stefano
Recognizing that tourism is key to raising awareness among consumers of these lesser-known wines
La Tosa also has a robust agritourism program as well as an on-site museum dedicated to the wines of the region
Torre Fornello in Val Tidone celebrates the rich history of Piacenza while also keeping an eye on the international market and consumer — producing wines from local grapes as well as offbeat and secondary grapes from other hidden-gem regions
“The main territorial and indigenous grapes are Malvasia di Candia Aromatica
which give rise to wines with so much personality and uniqueness,” says Enrico Sgorbati
“The result is to produce wines different from the usual
there is an unmistakable passion that comes through — you can almost taste the twinkle in their eyes
One wonders if some of these producers secretly hope the region remains a best-kept secret
“I want to take everything that is extraordinary in these soils and vineyards and combine it into a wine without excess,” says Salamini
my wines are like those people you miss when they leave rather than disrupting everything when they arrive.”
Pizzamiglio echoes this sentiment: “I hope that the fame of our region will grow
but always with harmony and balance,” he says
I would never want to see wines from my region (even my own ones) be sold at prices so high as to keep them away from true wine lovers.”
and the curious wine dreamers the region seems to covet
A wine region that unapologetically champions obscure varieties
produced with a minimalist approach to winemaking to be terroir-driven and food-friendly
be a tough sell outside of the local context in which they are made
New York-based Master of Wine Roger Bohmrich says the range of styles produced in Piacenza helps
“Only a portion of drinkers will be open to taking a chance on a wine they don’t know,” says Bohmrich
This favors a denomination such as Colli Piacentini
both still and sparkling.” Varietal labeling may also help these wines gain more international recognition
food and beverage director of Deep Dive Hospitality
hospitality industry to champion regions like Colli Piacentini more broadly
“The best way to get consumers excited about lesser-known regions is to put wines from those regions on restaurant and bar lists and on wine shop shelves,” she says
even among professionals in the wine world
that it’s hard to sell wines from anywhere besides recognizable grape-growing regions and by recognizable producers
the vast majority of wine drinkers are interested in trying new wines and expanding their horizons.”
Here are 10 wines from Colli Piacentini to help you expand those horizons

winning with a clear 97-76 against PiacenzaPiacenza remained in the game until halftime (43-43)
Piacenza was unable to react in the last quarter
and Cividale took the victory with authority
while for Piacenza Marks and Bonacini scored 16 and 13 points
Lamb 8: He was the offensive beacon of the team (21 points
making heavy baskets with high percentages
He showed composure on free throws and was ready in decisive moments
he was a point of reference in attack with his 17 points and managed the team's direction well
on the other hand he was a bit imprecise in shooting and lost a few too many balls
He took advantage of his opportunities near the basket and brought energy
It's a shame that his use was a bit limited by the fouls he committed
but the triple he made changed the inertia of the match
More is expected on both sides of the court
but since he has just arrived he deserves a passing grade
distributing some assists and scoring a couple of baskets
Marangon 7+: one of the most efficient in attack
He took few shots but he put them in with great confidence
He also gave a good contribution defensively
Berti 6: He played a match without too many flashes but solid
He made good use of the few opportunities he had in attack
He didn't shine on the rebound and could have had a greater impact on defense
Ferrari 8,5: a real presence under the basket (17 points
scoring with unreal percentages (7/8 from 2 pts) and dominating on the rebound
He brought intensity and confidence to the team
also showing a good hand from the free throw line
with a very solid performance in shooting and rebounding
Pigeon NV He only played a little over 2' so it's difficult to give him a rating
Gilmore 6: Piacenza struggled in the paint
and he tried to hold his own with a good rebounding presence (7 rebounds)
It's a shame that his shooting percentages weren't great (4/10 from the field)
He had a good start and scored with good percentages
but his limited minutes (14 minutes) did not allow him to have an impact
He was not very present in defense and the team suffered for it
Suljanovic 5+: had a hard time helping out in this challenge
He goes on the scoresheet with only 4 points
D'Almeida 6-: not a brilliant match from him
then manages to find some points even in difficult situations but it's not enough
Much more was needed to make the difference
Oaks 5,5: He started off well scoring from beyond the arc
Marks 6: he scored more than anyone else at Piacenza (16 points)
He forced a lot (20 shots attempted) with questionable percentages
he had to take on a lot of offensive responsibilities
but his performance never gave the impression of being able to change the inertia of the match
Bonacini 6,5: one of the most positive notes of Piacenza
He shot with reasonable accuracy and gave his contribution on the rebound
It was not enough to keep the team in the game
but his performance was more than sufficient
Snakes 6: he scores some important three-pointers and has a good offensive efficiency (11 points
Piacenza needed a jolt and he was unable to provide it
In Piacenza, the foil fencers also competed in B1, taking to the platform to defend the honor of the club after the team that two seasons ago had won A2 was dissolved due to the cessation of activity of its members. The Pistoia team is made up of three fencers: the young Giulio Bove and Damiano Martini and the master Nicola Melani. As expected, the team will restart from B2, but their presence on the platform demonstrated the attachment of these boys to the club colors.
The team championships, however, are not over as at the beginning of June there will be the most important event, again in Piacenza, with the A1 series championship in which the men's epee team will participate, which will take to the stage with Fabio Mastromarino, fresh under 20 world champion, Alessandro Ferrari, Lorenzo Bruttini and the welcome return of Marco Gori, absent in recent seasons for work reasons.
