Leonardo Earlier this year, Fiat announced they were increasing production of the Panda by approximately 20 percent to meet customer demand as the model was a “market leader in Italy and the segment leader in Europe.” This pushed Fiat CEO Olivier Francois to confirm production at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant would continue until at least 2027 It seemed like smooth sailing ahead for the city car that’s been a staple in Italian garages for decades More: Fiat Still Can’t Sell The 500e, Extends EV’s Production Halt The work stoppages are set to begin on November 11 and will apparently stretch over several days throughout the month. This will impact Panda production as well as engine assembly The move comes shortly after Stellantis hit the brakes at the Mirafiori plant, which builds the Fiat 500e as well as the Maserati GranTurismo. The former model has struggled, but should be aided by the introduction of a new hybrid variant in late 2025 While the production stop suggests lackluster demand, the Panda has actually been doing fairly well. In July, Fiat noted the model was the best-selling vehicle in Italy as it generated over 63,500 sales for a 21% year-over-year increase. Despite this, Stellantis said the pause was necessary as they’re facing a “path requiring difficult choices and offering no easy solutions.” This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks The action you just performed triggered the security solution There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase You can email the site owner to let them know you were blocked Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page Today FIAT has presented the new Fiat Pandina special series. new investments  that have made it the most technological and safest ever I also have another reason to celebrate Panda today: in fact we have decided to increase production by 20% to meet customer demand in Italy and Europe Panda continues to be market leader in this country and segment leader in Europe: and it is also the sole A segment hybrid in the Group.” the iconic and inspirational Fiat FX It's Official: Porsche and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Tie the Knot then the Dodge looks a lot closer to the Alfa Romeo than perhaps anyone expected the Italian brand's crest in the steering wheel center cap is replaced by Dodge's twin slashes and the steering wheel has been stripped of the large curved paddle shifters the Tonale showed on its debut There's still a start/stop button on the steering wheel but where the Tonale has a driving mode dial on its dash this supposed Hornet has another start/stop button Dodge's push-to-start buttons are usually on the instrument panel so our guess is that the wheel is a holdover for testing the parking alert buttons and Italian Tricolore flag on the Alfa Romeo are replaced by three different buttons That hybrid powertrain would show a year after the vehicle's launch the Hornet anticipated as a 2023 model with the Tonale's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder That engine could get the same 256 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque as the Tonale or be boosted to satisfy Dodge's performance credentials The Alfa Romeo Stelvio with the same engine makes 280 hp and 306 lb-ft The PHEV version could work the same 272-hp powertrain which had been experiencing too many delays in delivering products and services Lean techniques first helped identify the cause of the missed deadlines — mainly bureaucratic logjams the newly empowered staff eliminated nearly all the delays down from around half of all orders just two years earlier That is helping to drive up customer satisfaction levels at Avio Aero which should burnish the company’s bottom line.“We haven’t bought any new machines or spent any more money,” Ficano says “It demonstrates the sheer power of lean.”  One of the 15 control centers where kaizen participants gathered to dig into the problem of missed deadlines the power plant of the Eurofighter Typhoon Operators also put the same engines through their paces in one of Europe’s largest engine test rooms which is located on the site.Pomigliano d’Arco always appeared to be a flourishing plant But the pace of production masked problems simmering below the surface he and his team received an unpleasant surprise when they dug deeper into the numbers Missed deadlines were almost as common as met ones “Our people on the shop floor were also unhappy and becoming unwell as they chased delays,” Ficano adds.Inverting the PyramidWhile management acknowledged that it had little insight into the cause of the problems it was well known that it often took up to two weeks for even minor supply chain issues to be addressed Managers decided to look into how to change the cumbersome approach. They first employed a generic management tool designed for fixing misfiring supply chains It pointed the finger at frontline workers Ficano and his fellow site managers disagreed with that diagnosis — they believed that Pomigliano d’Arco’s army of discouraged operators was a symptom of the site’s inefficiencies “We didn’t want to start by blaming people as it was not the point indeed,” says Ficano.  A view of the Pomigliano plant’s engine test cell and service and repair buildings a lean workout to drive immediate process improvements The word kaizen is Japanese for “continuous improvement,” and kaizen meetings typically involve several days of intense The participants at Pomigliano d’Arco included operators who drew “value-stream maps” of the site’s convoluted problem-solving processes on a whiteboard. The problem was plain to see: Issues took an eternity to travel through Pomigliano d’Arco’s thicket of bureaucracy If a machine operator on the shop floor encountered an issue such as a 3D printer glitch or supply delay they would inform the manufacturing manager who would relay the problem to a business leader who would pass it on to senior site management It was like a game of broken telephone: “After so long the nature of the problem when it arrived was never the same as when it started,” Ficano says.Reimagining SpaceIt was obvious that operators needed a fast-track channel to quickly escalate and eliminate their issues Pomigliano d’Arco lacked places where employees could gather and feel comfortable “We learned that the inability to raise issues in the first place was our real problem,” says Ficano “That helped us to build a system whereby everyone feels psychologically safe speaking up.”Kaizen participants agreed to install a network of 15 control centers across the three production arenas and enough space for a small audience.  Site Please enable JS and disable any ad blocker has confirmed that the Fiat Panda will continue to be produced at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant until 2030 which was initially due to end at the end of 2026 Tavares also stated that the current version will be adapted to comply with European emission regulations and will continue to be produced until the end of the decade Stellantis will invest a large sum in this model which continues to top the sales charts in Italy together with the “old” Lancia Ypsilon will soon cease production and make way for the new generation which we recently had the opportunity to see for the first time in white bodywork The Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d’Arco also produces the Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet. The American brand’s car has achieved excellent sales in the United States in the first quarter of 2024, selling 10 times more than its Italian “twin” the old and new generations will remain on the market together for many years considering that they will be in two different market segments and will not compete with each other The new generation of Fiat Panda will in fact be very different from the current model which will become a large SUV and undergo a radical transformation The decision to continue production of the Pandina is a wise one especially in view of the agreement to reach a production of one million cars per year Alenia Aermacchi delivered today the fuselage to the ATR consortium to be assembled in Toulouse to build the 1000th aircraft The ceremony was attended by the company’s top management and the employees who have been engaged in the ATR programme for many years In the next few days the 1000th ATR fuselage will leave Alenia Aermacchi’s Pomigliano d’Arco production line where it was made and equipped with the landing gear before being shipped to Toulouse Headquarters of the Italian-French ATR Consortium In France it will be assembled together with stabilisers engines and other components followed by delivery to the final customer Alenia Aermacchi’s Chief Executive Officer and Responsible for Finmeccanica’s Aeronautics sector has declared: “The results just achieved are  tangible evidence of how much Alenia Aermacchi believes in the regional aircraft’s market in which we are present not only with ATR - a joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi (50%) and EADS (50%) - but also through the collaboration with Sukhoi for the Superjet 100; the partnerships with other important players of this sector in the field of aerostructures; the participation in the “Clean-Sky” programme a project promoted by the European Commission whose target is to study the configuration of the future’s commercial aircraft on improvement of the fuel efficiency and on acoustic impact reduction This important achievement – Giordo has underlined – proves once more the excellence in terms of human and technological resources that is concentrated in our production sites of Southern Italy” With 1,000 fuselages and stabilisers built ATR is in the ‘Top Ten’ of the  world ranking for the most successful commercial airplanes in  civil aviation history every 20 seconds an ATR takes off in the world: over 800 million passengers have been flying with this aircraft since the programme started with a backlog of 224 aircraft continues to  lead the segment of  regional turboprop air transport up to 90 seats Such commercial success proves how airplanes’ performances operational flexibility,low-cost and very low environment impact still now represent – after over 20 years from the date of the activity’s beginning – a reference point for the industry of air transport thanks to the excellent characteristics of the project and to the continuous technological updates The current production standard is represented by the -600 series with new digital avionics certified on May 30th 2011 and delivered starting from July 2011 more comfortable cabins and reduced CO2 emissions per passenger The new internal set up is made by the multiple-award-winner “Armonia” cabin Alenia Aermacchi’s role in the ATR programme JSESSIONID - D2EA654880EC469240D3EBF065DC3C47.lcsgepalsv146 BIGipServerPool-nuovo-sito-prod - 151654666.20480.0000 f5avraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa_session_ - MKHPECKGHGLMJCGIIPCEHDPMILHMKBEJPEMHKABAIEHDFNOJAENBODNHFMPPJHNBJKADNAMJGNLCBKFBNFCAOOLMBADIOBGICIGNKLIODKGKHCJHPJNEDAPFBOPODCAB We thought that 'Pandina' would become the new official name of the Fiat Panda until the electric car arrives (on 11 July 2024) The Fiat Pandina unveiled today does not replace the range of the Italian bestseller in its entirety but represents a special series (not a limited edition) with the richest and most comprehensive equipment Specific details are added to the bodywork and the interior is more technologically advanced A series of new features that will be available, as an option, on the rest of the Fiat Panda range as Oliver François (the company's number one) points out is destined to be produced at Pomigliano d'Arco until at least 2027 Based on the Cross trim level, with its off-road look, the new Fiat is distinguished by the 'Pandina' lettering found on the black covers on the lower part of the doors and on the rear side windows The Panda snout can also be seen on the alloy wheel trims and the new body colours For the rest, everything is identical to the current Panda 1.55 high and 2.3 wheelbase) to the general appearance A complete Fiat Panda that wants to stand out from the crowd but the few that remain offer 'big' technology a point on which the Panda has suffered in comparison the 7-inch digital instrument panel with various graphics is available on the city car flanked by a new central screen (also 7 inches) for the infotainment system The display size is the same as that available today, but in terms of hardware, some elements change, such as the USB socket (type A), which is moved to the centre in a lowered position, with four touch-sensitive buttons on the sides to call up certain menu items on the fly. The steering wheel is also new, with a design very similar to that of the Tipo On the spokes are a number of physical buttons to control the various instrument and infotainment screens This is where the Fiat Panda 2024 takes a big step forward traffic sign recognition and cruise control are available as standard on the Pandina 6 airbags and rear parking sensors complete the equipment The Fiat Pandina is powered by the usual 70 PS 1.0-litre mild hybrid combined with front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox but we do know that the new special version will be positioned at the top end of the range The New Jeep Compass May Not Come to the US The Toyota Corolla Looks Even Better With White Wheels Fiat Panda vs Kia Picanto: Citycar challenge The New Audi A6 Plug-In Hybrid Has a Decent Electric Range build quality and all your hopes and dreams went to die Their cars should have come with a sticker that said "Made With Pride in You Don't Want To Know." This story was originally published on June 25 NATO took care of the Yugo problem once and for all in 1999. Still, while they used to build terrible cars, things have changed according to Aetost: I get the feeling that the strike was ordered by some begrudged ex-Yugo owner they cleaned up the ruble and kept producing the Yugo Their tenacity paid off and eventually the plant (and the company) was bought by FIAT and is now renovated and considered among the company's best sites Suggested By: JayHova Sounds like it used to be one hell of a party for the workers at this plant Suggested By: jbh Just blame the unions if your Camaro falls apart, says Stig-a-saw-us-wrecks: Biscayne were all assembled here at various times Site of one of GM's longest labor dispute at 174 days the city of Norwood lost 28% of it's tax revenue Suggested By: Stig-a-saw-us-wrecks The reason why you can't find an Alfasud anywhere despite them building almost a million. tapzz: Built as a brand new plant in a mafia-ridden area near Naples southern Italy in the '70s to produce Alfa Romeo's Alfasud compact The workforce had no experience of car building given that there were 700 stoppages on the line when the 'sud was being built Body shells of craptacular soviet steel were left outside to rust before they were even painted The output was so bad in build quality Alfa still hasn't lived down the consequences even though the 'sud was generally hailed as the best handling car of its day and one of the best car designs of the '70s Certainly the best example of a car design as good as the factory was crap Suggested By:tapzz Well, you can write a book on this one. Loping Camshaft sums it up: It was an embarrassment to American manufacturing and called "the worst workforce in the automobile industry in the United States" Only to be reopened by a joint venture between Toyota and GM It was Toyota's first plant in the US and they wanted to see what it was like running a plant in the US versus Japan GM wanted to learn some of the more efficient Japanese manufacturing policies and implement them at other factories the Ponitac Vibe was killed and the plant was shut down in '09 only to be resurrected by our South African overlord Suggested By: Loping Camshaft They were right. It wasn't a Golf. themanwithsauce: From 1978 to 1987 it languished around as a facility that made the rabbit and rabbit pickup along with some Jettas at the end of its time as a VW plant However the rabbits they made in AMerica were nowhere near the quality of the German made Golf The workers were assembled as a mix of those from the UAW plants in Detroit and a large pool of unemployed labor VW picked the ones that had been out of work for the longest Because the VW plant was paying LESS than the Detroit plants but was also represented by the UAW there was a strike for equal pay within the first few months of the plant opening Walkouts were common and dispute over minorities plagued the plant for its entire life the plant began life with a strike and then lurched from problem to problem before closing It gets better – stamping facilities were 4 hours away in Virginia Parts were rushed via private jet sometimes to keep production going because the plant needed to run at 85% capacity to break even It was outdated when built and had poor quality labor in a plant that lacked automation in an era where robots and machinery were replacing the excessively large and unreliable labor force It is absolutely impressive that VW was brave enough to come back at all Westmoreland was a textbook case of how to do everything wrong when you make a new auto plant Suggested By: natrat They fixed everything by kicking it as hard as they could until the part was roughly in line. Then, they tried to sell them to you SheikhБлять also heard rumors about a North Korean connection: You have no idea how crazy the Zwickau factory actually was they flew out North Korean workers from Pyongyang once a week (one of Air Koryo's only flights to the West at the time) to work on the assembly line It is a testament to their skill (and fear) that Trabant 1.1s exist and appear to be the most strangely polished models of Trabi Suggested By: Maxton86 Remember the Volvo P1800? Well, you want the S version because it was built in Sweden instead of Scotland, along with many of the Chrysler-Rootes Group cars. ranwhenparked has more: It was constructed specifically to build the Hillman Imp (full disclosure my dad's British expatriate friend had one for decades) Chrysler wanted to build the car at their existing factory in Ryton With Scotland's shipbuilding industry essentially dead (partly the idea was to replace it with car production Chrysler was denied the necessary permits to expand the Ryton plant but was given generous subsidies to build a new factory in Linwood and really needed to build the car somewhere All their suppliers were still located in England Linwood was basically in the middle of a vast no-man's land for the auto industry which led to high transportation costs and frequent parts shortages The local workforce was inexperienced in car assembly which led to poor quality and low productivity (the rush to get production going was also to blame Turnover was high and labor problems were rampant – there were over two dozen strikes in one year alone The factory operated deep in the red throughout its existence and was ultimately closed in the mid '70s after only 13 years in operation Suggested By: Fl1ngstam and ranwhenparked John DeLorean might have had a clue about building cars, but his Irish employees certainly didn't. DennyCrane knows what the problem was: it was relatively cheap labor with tons of tax incentives what it ended up being was hiring thousands of people who had absolutely no clue how to build a car with inadequate training leading to tons of quality issues They had to perform extensive quality control testing afterwards Suggested By: DennyCraneDennyCraneDennyCrane They built it the wrong way around and they left their garbage all over the place Luckily, My X-type is too a real Jaguar's X-Type wasn't built there: The British had to sacrifice a few historic brands to get over this Suggested By: My X-type is too a real Jaguar Welcome back to Answers of the Day – our daily Jalopnik feature where we take the best ten responses from the previous day's Question of the Day and shine it up to show off It will probably take many more years to see a new Alfa Romeo Tonale on the market but this doesn’t stop digital creators from imagining what a new generation would look like The YouTube channel Mahboub 1 hypothesizes what could be the style of a future generation of the famous C-segment SUV This digital creation imagines the model with some design elements from the recent compact SUV Alfa Romeo Junior all future Alfa Romeo cars should share the same design language We’re referring particularly to the front and rear which are broadly very similar to the Junior Obviously, some of these elements could already be used in an update that might arrive in a few years, to ensure family feeling with the rest of the Italian automaker’s range, given that apparently the new generation of Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia which will debut in 2025 and 2026 respectively will have many elements in common with the Junior we assume that in 2026 a restyling of this model could arrive which had started really well in the market but which in 2024 doesn’t seem to be recording particularly flattering sales data Alfa Romeo Tonale is produced at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d’Arco in Italy along with its American twin This model is also experiencing a decline in demand and therefore the hypothesis of a restyling doesn’t seem so absurd At the moment, Dodge Hornet is struggling in the market and is among the slowest-selling cars in the United States The latest Stellantis sales data for the third quarter of 2024 also indicate that the situation is worse than expected and could cause further discontent Perché Rocco Cannavino ha soggiornato per lavoro sull’isola d’Ischia e da lì ha ripreso e modificato il tipico cornetto a doppio impasto Ischitano: pasta sfoglia lievitata senza zuccheri unita a una pasta brioche a lunga lievitazione Altri lievitati da gustare presso il Lab Store: Buondì (ovale di pasta brioche vanigliata con crosta di crema di mandorle e zucchero in grani) ricco di gocce di cioccolato fondente 65%) Patacchione (pasta sfoglia Zio Rocco unita a pan di nocciola briochato Doppiasfoglia (pasta cornetto sfogliata all’italiana ad alta idratazione) Girasole (pasta brioche arricchita con giro di crema vaniglia in superficie) Danese (pasta brioche sfogliata al burro con crema gianduia e granella di nocciole tostate) Intrecciok: Intreccio di morbida e profumata pasta brioche Patacchione: Pasta sfoglia Zio Rocco unita a pan di nocciola briochato Buondì: Ovale di morbida pasta brioche vanigliata con crosta di crema di mandorle e zucchero in grani vale a dire la versione crema spalmabile dei prodotti firmati Zio Rocco presentato nella trasmissione “Cuochi e dintorni” di Alice Tv Tag: Il tuo indirizzo email non sarà pubblicato email e sito web in questo browser per la prossima volta che commento Δdocument.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value" Questo sito utilizza Akismet per ridurre lo spam. Alfa Romeo announced that the Tonale had already accumulated more than 35 orders This data is the result of the sales that the Italian SUV has reaped in the European and Japanese markets because the US is expected to arrive until the second quarter of this year it is interesting to emphasize that its production is circumscribed to the Pomigliano d'Arco center so that shares assembly plant with the already mythical Panda Fiat is already gradually reducing the production of the Panda at the same time that it increases that of the Tonale despite this production reduction in the utility line they will have to open a new shift for the afternoon The objective of this measure would be none other than to increase the production of Tonale to output the entire set of orders that would have accumulated without still taking into account the Dodge Hornet… Yes because the all way of the house of the ram will also be assembled in the center of Pomigliano The data to take into account is important Pomigliano's annual production grew by 34% last year 2022 to reach 165 thousand units which this year could be many more thanks to the 400 extra units per day of the second shift during the first year of life of the Alfa Romeo Tonale its sales volume remained in Europe at around 11.171 units We will have to see when it arrives impact on the American market and how much damage does (or not) his clone brother Hornet do him..
