The San Francisco 49ers are in the midst of a pivotal offseason for the franchise
CBS Sports recently broke down the NFL's top 100 free agents and it illustrates the importance of getting this offseason right for San Francisco
A quartet of 49ers free agents were among Pete Prisco's top 100 NFL free agents
That group of San Francisco free agents features cornerback Charvarius Ward
safety Talanoa Hufanga and guard Aaron Banks
Ward has indicated that it's likely he will be playing elsewhere in 2025
Greenlaw has been an anchor of the 49ers' defenses throughout his six-year playing career
Hufanga just completed his rookie contract and he has likewise been limited by injuries over the past two seasons. The USC alum has played in just 17 games over the past two seasons combined
Offensively, San Francisco would love to bring back Banks, but there's a tough decision to be made there as well. Can the 49ers re-sign Banks coming out of his rookie contract for a price that makes sense, or does the franchise opt to prioritize offensive line in the 2025 NFL draft
In comparison to the rest of the league, San Francisco was one of 12 NFL franchises that Prisco deemed to have four or more of the league's top 100 free agents. The 49ers joined the world champion Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts as NFL teams that Prisco featured with four top 100 free agents
The Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers each had six top 100 free agents per Prisco
49ers fans and the organization are hungry for an immediate return to championship contention
Though injuries played a serious part in derailing the 49ers' 2024 season
San Francisco certainly had its fair share of warts that need removing or repairing
After ranking third in the NFL in rushing offense in 2023
the 49ers slipped back to 12th in the league
Some of that can obviously be attributed to Christian McCaffrey playing in just four games and other injuries up front
but the 49ers clearly need to improve their offensive line
San Francisco plummeted from the league's No
3 rushing defense in 2023 to the 18th in the NFL this past season
As the front office looks to address some of those concerns
it will have to do so via a combination of free agency and the 2025 NFL draft
According to Over The Cap
the 49ers have $43 million in effective cap space
One mock draft calls for a massive national champion to team with the USC star.
The All-Pro wide receiver and the Lions gain Ohio State interior offensive lineman Donovan Jackson at No. 28 overall, with Pete Prisco of CBS Sports making that new prediction
Jackson is fresh off leading the Buckeyes to the national title during the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoffs.
Brown's team has multiple areas to address
But Prisco calls the Jackson selection a versatile need
And one that replaces one pivotal starter from the NFC North champs
USA; San Francisco 49ers cornerback Ambry Thomas (20) upends Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St
Brown (14) during the first half of the NFC Championship football game at Levi's Stadium
"We know how important their offensive line is to the success of this team
They lost guard Kevin Zeitler in free agency to the Titans
Jackson can play guard and tackle," Prisco said
"He moved to tackle last year because of injury and was good
Head coach Dan Campbell likely will love the swingman ability of Jackson. Campbell has built a gritty product on the football field featuring hard-nosed players
Brown is one who's embraced the new culture in the Motor City.
Jackson stands at 6-foot-4, 315-pounds and paved running lanes for two 1,000-yard rushers in Quinshon Judkins and TreyVeyon Henderson. Both also combined to score 24 touchdowns. Jackson also blocked for NFL QB prospect Will Howard -- who finished with 4,010 passing yards while taking just 14 sacks.
Jackson is ranked third for his position group by CBS Sports
He's also the 38th ranked overall prospect by the outlet ahead of the draft.
Only Patrick Mahomes and Myles Garrett rank higher, which is fair because Williams is the best offensive lineman in the NFL and the most valuable on the 49ers -- they're 3-6 when he doesn't play. He's not the most violent offensive lineman of all time, but he might be the most agile one, which makes him nearly impossible to beat in pass protection, plus he's outstanding at lead blocking on outside runs. He makes the entire 49ers offense work.
He's the best running back in the NFL and the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, but ranking him ahead of Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Travis Kelce seems rich.
He was the Defensive Player of the Year for 2022, but he wasn't even the best player on his own defense in 2023 -- Fred Warner was. So ranking Bosa ahead of Warner and Maxx Crosby and Chris Jones seems wrong.
This seems like a fair ranking because he's the best player on the 49ers defense and the best linebacker in the NFL, particularly in coverage. That being said, his run defense wasn't great last season.
Kittle still is the second-best tight end in the NFL, but that doesn't mean he's a top-40 player in the league. Last season, he ranked just third on the 49ers in catches. He's a complementary player. And he's not the blocker he used to be when he was in his 20s.
This seems ranking seems a bit too low. At this point in Aiyuk's career, he's clearly better than Kittle and Jaylen Waddle, both of whom ranked ahead of Aiyuk on this list.
This ranking seems way, way too low. Ward is one of the top cornerbacks in the league. He's better than L'Jarius Snead, who shut down Aiyuk in the Super Bowl. And when Ward and Aiyuk match up in training camp, Ward typically wins that matchup. He's a top 40 player in the NFL.
This seems fair. Samuel isn't the wide receiver he once was, but he still is a huge threat with the ball in his hands, which is why he scored 12 touchdowns last season.
This is far too low. It's still early in Purdy's career, but he should be ranked near C.J. Stroud, who's no. 38 on this list. I think most people would take Purdy over Kittle, Aiyuk, Ward and Samuel.

Week 1 of the NFL season is the most challenging when it comes to picking games
We think we know these teams as they come out of training camp and the preseason
You can't get anything from preseason games
so it's simply being reliant on the knowledge of the roster
especially when it comes to who is playing
Every year I say I hope to get off to a fast start with these picks
I like this week's card and I like a lot of dogs
So let's get it going right way with a good first-week showing as the dogs will be barking -- and some will win outright
Thursday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, fubo)
This first-ever NFL game in Brazil features two of the better teams in the NFL. The Packers found out Jordan Love could be their guy last season
but they were terrible against the pass last year
Packers take it as Love has a big night and the attacking new-look defense of the Packers plays well enough
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo)
This will be Russell Wilson vs. Kirk Cousins as both teams have new veteran quarterbacks
Wilson and the Steelers didn't look good in the preseason
but Cousins didn't play and is coming off a torn Achilles
The Steelers defense will be a tough matchup
but I think the Falcons will be able to turn over Wilson and get some short fields
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)
The Cardinals were a feisty team last season and will be even better in 2024. But this is a tough way to open, on the road against a Super Bowl contender. The Bills have a lot of new faces, but Josh Allen will still be Josh Allen
The Bears have received a lot of the hype this summer with the addition of Caleb Williams. But this will be his first start. That's tough for a rookie. The Titans will counter with Will Levis in the first game for new coach Brian Callahan
I think the Titans will keep this one close
This is a rematch of the game the Texans won in Week 18 to get to the playoffs last year. The Colts didn't have Anthony Richardson in that one, but he's back now at quarterback. C.J. Stroud will build on his 2023 rookie season
The Colts will hang around here and find a way to win it late
Both teams should be really good on offense
which will cause problems for the Jacksonville secondary
But the Jaguars will also score against a Miami pass rush that is missing some key players
The Jaguars will win it late with a field goal
New coach Dave Canales will try and jump-start quarterback Bryce Young in Year 2
but they have some line issues that could impact the offense
look for the Saints defense to limit Young and the Panthers offense as the Saints win it
They will force Darnold into a few turnovers
Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)
Jim Harbaugh will be making his coaching debut for the Chargers, which means a more physical team. Justin Herbert is back from his foot injury, but how healthy is he right now? Gardner Minshew will start for the Raiders
which gives the Chargers a big edge at quarterback
Harbaugh will win his first game as the team's coach thanks to a good game from Herbert
Bo Nix makes his first start at quarterback for the Broncos in arguably the toughest place to play
This will be the debut for new Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald
who throws a ton of looks at quarterbacks from the defensive side
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo)
Deshaun Watson has been banged up some for the Browns, but he will start at quarterback. The Cowboys have CeeDee Lamb back after his contract
Cleveland is a tough place to play for an opener
Look for the defense to attack Watson and turn him over as the Cowboys win a tough road game
This will be the first start for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Facing a Todd Bowles defense is never easy, but it's even tougher on the road in your first start. Look for Baker Mayfield to have success against the Commanders secondary here
Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC/Peacock, fubo)
Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN, fubo)
This is a long trip to play a team in an opener on Monday night for the Jets. It's a big-time challenge against the defending NFC champions. But the Jets have Aaron Rodgers back
He has struggled at times against the 49ers in his career
The expected return of running back Christian McCaffrey
the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year
is an enormous factor in this week's picks by NFL experts
The 49ers already have the NFL's second-ranked rushing attack and many analysts see the addition of McCaffrey putting that over the top and becoming the deciding factor in the game
One expert also sees edge rusher Nick Bosa being a problem for Baker Mayfield
there is plenty of praise for how the Buccaneers have played in recent weeks despite their losing streak
and especially in the wake of injuries to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans
Here's how the analysts at Bleacher Report put it:
"Tampa is in the midst of a three-game losing streak
those three losses came to opponents with a combined 20-6 record
have been good at making those games interesting in the fourth quarter
But Monday's performance against the Chiefs may have been the most impressive because Tampa Bay showed it can compete with the league's best
The Buccaneers are 5.5-point underdogs at home
in a game that will likely have a major impact in their postseason hopes
A majority of the experts think it won't go in the home team's favor
NFL.com – It's a five-expert sweep
though the Bucs draw praise for how hard they play

Most analysts expect a shootout on Sunday night at Raymond James Stadium
but there isn't much consensus about which team will come out on top
The Buccaneers are favored to win at home in Week 18 against the New Orleans Saints
and most national NFL experts believe they will capture a fourth straight division title
The Bucs and Panthers get together for a rematch of their Week 17 overtime affair
and the majority of NFL experts side with the home team to complete the series sweep despite a significant challenge from the visitors
are favored to prevail in Dallas on Sunday night
and various national experts have chimed in with their predictions
The Chargers are favored over Tampa Bay in Los Angeles on Sunday but almost all NFL analysts expect it to be a very close game
Most analysts think the Buccaneers are poised to continue their win streak in Week 14
though some are also high on Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell
Favored on the road against the 3-8 Panthers
the Buccaneers get most of the expert's approval in Week 13 but there is plenty of evidence that the game could go down to the wire
The Buccaneers are favored on the road against New York
and a majority of experts believe that is the right call in Week 12
The Bucs are big underdogs on the road against the undefeated Chiefs on Monday night in Week Nine
and their fourth-ranked scoring offense will draw a big challenge from Kansas City's strong defense
The Falcons are favored in an NFC South rematch in Tampa
and a majority of national NFL analysts agree with that assessment
The Buccaneers are home underdogs to a streaking Baltimore squad but do have some support among the national NFL analysts making their picks for this week's slate of games

After all, my picks stunk worse than a garbage dump. I know I am not alone since this has been a tough year for all who pick NFL games -- brutally bad
I went 7-9 against the spread last week, which isn't good, but I am still leading our NFL expert picks at CBSSports.com with a 30-31-3 record
That's how bad September was for all of us
I was 8-8 last week to even my record at 32-32
But now is the time when things start to crystallize a bit in the NFL
I have to look at the bright side: I didn't go 3-13 ATS last week like somebody I know
Bonus: Larry Hartstein, who is on a 49-25-2 ATS roll on Falcons games, has released his best bets for the Week 5 NFC South game against the Buccaneers. Hartstein is leaning the Over total but who is he backing to cover? Find out right here at SportsLine
Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET (NFLN, fubo)
The Vikings are undefeated and Sam Darnold is playing at an MVP level. But facing this Jets defense will be a real challenge. The Jets offense was lifeless last week in the loss to Denver, and Aaron Rodgers will face a tough test from Minnesota's attacking defense
His line had issues last week and will again here
It's close but low scoring as the Jets take it behind their defense
The Bears take it as the Panthers struggle to move it on offense
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)
This an enormous game for the Bengals. They can get right back in the division race with a victory here. Their offense has come alive with Tee Higgins back. The Ravens give up a lot of big pass plays, so that will factor here. The Bengals defense has issues, so look for a lot of points. In the end, I think Joe Burrow wins it
This is one of the best games of the week. The Bills are out on the road for the second straight week and didn't look good in losing to the Ravens. The Texans haven't been dynamic on offense, which many expected before the season. Look for Josh Allen to come in here and win a shootout with C.J. Stroud
The Colts have not won in Jacksonville since 2014, but this Jaguars team is reeling. At 0-4, this is a must win or they are truly done. The Colts don't know who will start at quarterback with Anthony Richardson dinged up. It could be Joe Flacco
This game features two bad teams, but the Dolphins are the surprise there. Without Tua Tagovailoa
The Pats have struggled the past few games
The Commanders are riding high behind rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, while the Browns are struggling with Deshaun Watson
This is a second straight road game for the Browns and they are really banged up
Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo)
Both teams are 2-2 and the Broncos are home for the first time in three weeks
The Denver defense has really impressed over the last two games and will play well here
but I think the Broncos will get the best of the Las Vegas offense
The Cardinals were blown out last week and the defense was bad. That's never a good thing when playing the 49ers at their place. Brock Purdy and Co
Look for a 49ers blowout as the Cards just don't have the players on defense
Bonus: The SportsLine Projection Model, which is up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception, likes the 49ers to cover against the Cardinals in Week 5. See the other picks the model is backing at SportsLine
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)
The Packers are coming off a tough loss to the Vikings with Jordan Love back in action
The Rams give up a ton of big plays on defense
The Rams are limited on offense with so many injuries
Bonus: The SportsLine Projection Model, which is up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception, likes the Packers to cover on the road against the Rams in Week 5. See the other picks the model is backing at SportsLine
but they will be rested having played last Thursday
so this could be a game for the Giants offense to show something
The Seattle offense showed Monday night it can score
Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, fubo)
The Cowboys are banged up on defense and the status of star pass rusher Micah Parsons is the big injury to watch. The Steelers lost for the first time last week with the defense having issues. I think the Cowboys will go into Pittsburgh and score enough to beat the Steelers as Dak Prescott plays big
Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, fubo)
Bonus: Before you make your Week 5 NFL survivor pool picks, you need to see which team the SportsLine Projection Model is backing. We can tell you the model is shying away from the unbeaten Chiefs vs. the Saints. Check out the surprising team to back in Week 5 right here.

The unity of the Church and the competencies of the Bishops’ Conferences
were among the topics addressed on October 15 and 16
during the meetings in the Paul VI Audience Hall for the second session of the Synod on Synodality
The four speakers at the briefing in the Holy See Press Office on Wednesday highlighted the role of theologian experts and canonists in this second session
along with the importance of discerning the consensus that moves the Church forward while listening to the Spirit
Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication and President of the Information Commission
“we have been discussing the final part of Instrumentum laboris,” Dr
“and the small groups have been working to present
with the speakers from the language tables
“the Church has always referred to the city
guided by the bishop in a close relationship with the territory.”
“the Church must live in the digital world,” taking into account “the dangers that exist.” From the groups
“attention to parishes as places of encounter emerged,” Dr
“But there is also a need to be creative and to imagine
to expand the places of our Church into other realms,” particularly the digital one
Synod participants had highlighted “the need to identify and strengthen existing synodal structures
in a gift exchange between local and continental Churches.” Regarding Bishops’ Conferences
but that it is still necessary to better define their status.”
Ruffini also reported that “the question of whether to delegate doctrinal competencies to the Bishops’ Conferences was addressed
as well as the importance of discovering the beauty of diverse cultures
He added that “the continental Bishops’ Conferences were seen as the appropriate place to weave synodality at the continental level” and “how to enhance the Bishops’ Conferences as levels of intermediate collegiality.” The Prefect noted that those who spoke were unanimous in recognizing “the importance of preserving the unity of the Church.”
“The ministry of the Pope in a time of globalization was discussed,” Dr
“and his service to unity not only of the Catholic Church but also regarding other Christians
as the highest moral and spiritual authority.”
In identifying the discussion topics and their priorities
the groups began by looking at the “Bishops’ Conferences in a synodal and missionary key: theological nature
the question is “how to reconfigure participation in a missionary key in a context of epochal change
in light of the phenomena of human mobility
and primacy united; the role of the Roman Curia in light of the apostolic constitution Praedicate Evangelium; universal synod
and particular councils.” The subsequent themes will include: “criteria for defining healthy decentralization
Pires highlighted attention to the evangelization of culture
acknowledging that everyone is part of a missionary land and noting the role of small grassroots communities that can make parishes more vibrant.
“the Synod has highlighted the need to adapt to cultural and digital changes
promoting a more synodal and missionary Church: the discussion emphasized the unity of faith and the Church's capacity to respond to contemporary challenges.”
The panel included an Italian priest and theologian
coordinator of the Synod's expert theologians and professor of ecclesiology at the Pontifical Gregorian University; Spanish priest
professor of Canon Law and Dean of the Pontifical University of Salamanca
a member of the Confraternity of Diocesan Priestly Workers
an expert in formation and vocation; Klára Antonia Csiszàr
Romanian by birth and Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Vice-Rector of the Catholic University of Linz in Austria; and Australian priest
theological consultant for the Synod Secretariat and lecturer at the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane
Vitali emphasized that the task of the four language groups of theologians which he coordinates (English
Italian) is to “re-read the proposals of the Assembly by identifying the emerging elements of consensus,” and to create collegial reports that indicate “to those who must draft the final text the points of convergence and those that are problematic.”
It is not necessary to seek out and highlight dissonant elements
It is the responsibility of the theologians
“to recognize the type of consensus that matures in the assembly
so that the text is consistent with what has been shared among the participants and with what the Spirit is indicating to the Church.”
The work of the four language groups is an example of a synodal style
the result of collaborative work among theologians that began in 2021
theologians interacted separately with the Synod Secretariat
As a member of the canonical commission of the Synod
Prisco highlighted that the work of canonist experts in this assembly is a collaborative effort with theologians
theology and canon law often walked on two parallel lines.” Instead
complementarity and collaboration are necessary
concerns “especially the second book of the Code of Canon Law
dedicated to the People of God.” The canonists’ commission
was formed out of a necessity expressed by participants: a group of canon law experts to accompany and evaluate the proposals of the Synod
“to identify possibilities for modifications or new norms that could improve canon law
Pastoral theologian Klára Antonia Csiszàr emphasized the importance of the theological contribution of the Forums
which “also involves knowing the other and allows for modulating the synodal culture in the Church.” Last year
one participant pointed out that “theology did not receive much attention.”
“It is evident today that theology is learning its role in the synodal Church and contributing to the synodal style.” These meetings “help regulate the basic melody of synodality
the theology of the People of God.” Because the theological academic community
“wants to support the birth of a synodal Church.”
Ormond Rush drew on the concept of living tradition
“living revelation is not just static truths but a continuous dialogue between God and humanity.” In his address
they are entering “the process of the living tradition of the Church
He emphasized that theology has the task of helping the Church convey God’s message to everyone
while also listening to the Sensus fidei of each person
the Church today must interpret “the signs
and how Jesus connects with the 21st century” with the help of theology
“is fundamental for a new understanding of God’s vision regarding human life today
New responses are needed to allow the Church to announce the Gospel convincingly in the new contexts in which it lives.”
Journalists at the briefing focused their questions on several points
including the potential decentralization of doctrinal competencies to the Bishops’ Conferences
the study and approval of modifications in canon law
Vitali recalled that “even the document considered the most restrictive regarding a possible transfer of doctrinal functions” from the center to the periphery
“namely the motu proprio Apostolos suos by John Paul II from 1998
actually states in number 21 that 'the bishops are authentic teachers and doctors of the faith for the faithful entrusted to their care,' and identifies specific competencies for them
such as overseeing the publication of catechisms for their territories
certainly after 'approval from the Apostolic See.' Moreover
there is also a significant provision in Praedicate Evangelium by Pope Francis in this regard.”
Vitali reiterated that “while they cannot create dogmas
bishops can address all that concerns doctrine
always ensuring they act in communion with the Pope.”
“there may be some newness.” Several points—such as pastoral councils or those of economic affairs
or bodies that foresee active collaboration among pastors
and laity—“on which the Assembly has found agreement
will be presented to the Pope in the final document
and might see an update perhaps by next summer.” Yet
as they will require further consultations.”
particularly from a theological perspective
that will likely not have definitive answers at the close of this Synod
such as issues related to gender or women's ministries
it means that the discussion must continue
not necessarily that it is closed forever.”
emphasizing “the synodal assembly provides horizon indications
which are expressed through consensus,” and that “the authority and credibility of the Synod must be distinguished from the duty of freedom of research for theologians
which may lead to consensus in the future.”
What is “clearly understood and present among the synodal fathers and mothers,” Dr
“is the attention to language: we are all aware that we are called to draft a final document that not only must be submitted to the Pope but also must be understandable to all the People of God.”
Csiszàr pointed out the importance theology is playing in the Synod and in the “exchange of gifts” between the traditions and experiences of Western and Eastern Europe
“It is always fundamental to keep the sensus fidei in mind,” seeking “to transform doctrine into practice and valuing the role of accompaniment and advocacy for human dignity that the Church can have towards the People of God.”
Rush—citing Vatican II—reiterated “revelation is a continuous dialogue between God and humanity” and theologians “can help the Church to continue its living tradition.”

Kittle discussed what he's looking forward to in 2021 and reviewed the changes he made to his offseason training routine
with a top-heavy list of 49ers making the cut
Four members of the 49ers were featured overall
including two in the Top 20 and all four in the top third of his list
Here's a look at where several members of the 49ers landed:
No. 16 – Trent Williams
His performance last season earned him his eighth-career Pro Bowl nod and a new contract to remain in San Francisco for the foreseeable future
"After coming over in a trade from Washington
Williams was dominant as the starting left tackle for the 49ers
He remains one of the league's best and was rewarded with a new contract that makes him the highest-paid tackle in the NFL." – Prisco
No. 17 – Nick Bosa
Despite missing 14 games in 2020 due to an ACL injury suffered in Week 2, Bosa continues to be recognized as one of the bright, young cornerstones of the 49ers defense. Since, he has been making noticeable progress from injury and is expected to make a return to the field in time for training camp
The former Defensive Rookie of the Year came off of a first season in the NFL where he racked up 9.0 sacks
two passes defended and an interception in 2019
Pundits expect the edge rusher to return to form with a clean bill of health in 2021
"He missed 14 games last season after tearing his ACL in Week 2 against the Jets
which means he will be back to wreaking havoc on quarterbacks." – Prisco
No. 22 – George Kittle
The 49ers tight end wasn't exempt from the 2020 injury bug
Kittle appeared in just eight games due to various injuries
but still managed 634 yards receiving and two scores
His abbreviated appearance would have had the tight end inline for 96 catches for 1,268 yards and two more scores last season
Regarded as one of the top tight ends in the game
Kittle is expected to bounce back from the 49ers lackluster campaign in 2021
"Injuries limited him to eight games last season
but he still caught 48 passes with two touchdowns
he's one of the two best tight ends in the game." – Prisco
No. 31 – Fred Warner
Warner rounds out the 49ers appearances as the highest listed linebacker (not including edge rushers)
Earning his first-career All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2020
Warner closed out the season appearing in all 16 games for the 49ers while leading the defense with 125 total tackles (ranked 10th in the NFL)
a sack and seven quarterback hits while coming off of his best season as a pro
"He is one of the best off-the-ball linebackers in the game
He is finally starting to get his due." – Prisco

On his 82nd birthday, the Cowboys were blown out, 47-9, by the Detroit Lions at home in a game that seemed far worse than the score
The Cowboys could have played with 12 guys on defense and still not stopped the Lions
It was the worst home loss for Jones as owner of the team. It also comes after home blowout losses to the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens earlier this year
Sure, they are missing a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball, talent that includes four players who would be in their front seven rotation, including star edge Micah Parsons
but there wasn't anything close to resistance against the Lions
As for the offense, it had no chance to keep up, but that side of the ball made its fair share of mistakes as well. It has no running game at all to help Dak Prescott. Ezekiel Elliott looks like a guard running
Jones said coach Mike McCarthy is safe for now
When do the Bill Belichick rumors start to intensify
The Cowboys are 3-3, but it feels more like a 1-5 team right now. They have been outscored in their three homes games by the score of 119-53. The good news is their next game is on the road after their bye week. The bad news is it's against the San Francisco 49ers
another high-octane offense that will test their beat-up defense
The Cowboys were my pick to win the NFC East -- they currently have the third-best division title odds at FanDuel -- but this team hardly resembles the one I thought we'd see
Maybe running it back from a year ago with virtually the same roster wasn't a good idea after all
Dallas is down to No. 17 in my Power Rankings this week, which is a far cry from being a division winner or a playoff team. After the 49ers, the Cowboys play at Atlanta, home against the Eagles and Texans and then at Washington
If they don't navigate that by winning at least two
and it would raise the Belichick talk to a higher level
The Lions just dumped 47 on your team -- and at home
It's hard to imagine a worse gag gift -- as in making him gag -- than that

The Bills have already punched their ticket to the postseason after dismantling the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13, 35-10
they have also already clinched the division title
many experts out there thought the Bills would fall off after letting go of a bunch of talent on both sides of the ball
as the Bills have been the same dominant team we've seen over the last handful of years
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the Rams improved their record to 6-6 on the season after beating the New Orleans Saints last week
the Rams are not guaranteed a postseason berth
They're sitting in third place in the NFC West entering this contest
will the Rams be able to pull off an upset over the the playoff-bound Bills on Sunday
Or will Buffalo take care of business against an inferior opponent
Sports Illustrated
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Bills 29
Prisco: "This is a long trip for the Bills after locking up the division last week. But they are playing for much more than that. The Rams are still in their division race, so this is big for them as well. The wayJosh Allenis playing
the Rams will have a tough time slowing down this offense
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News:Bills 28
Iyer: "The Bills cannot be stopped by the Rams' young defense — not with Josh Allen rolling and his offensive line protecting him well and also opening up the explosive running game for James Cook
Los Angeles continued lack of home-field edge burns it again."
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Bills 34
Bender: "The Bills are on a seven-game win streak
and they have scored 30 or more points in six straight games
They are still in the hunt for home-field advantage
so a let-down game on the West Coast seems improbable given the Rams are 3-3 S/U at home this season
Los Angeles allows 114.2 rushing yards per game this season
James Cook should have a big game here."
Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic:Bills 30
Cluff:"The Rams are fighting for their playoff lives
but the Bills are just playing at an elite level right now
Matthew Stafford and company won't be able to keep up."

The 49ers made some additions in free agency and as you may expect
it hasn’t changed what analysts think of that No
Now that free agency is winding down (well with most of the big names gone/traded) we can start to get a better idea of where teams are on that draft board. As you might expect, very little has changed for the 49ers
In his latest mock draft Wednesday, Pete Prisco mocks a name we’re all familiar with. The Arizona Cardinals take Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray and then the 49ers settle for Ohio State pass rusher Nick Bosa
the 49ers would end up with the best pass rusher and player in the class in Bosa
If any of you are hoping the 49ers can find a way to trade back into the first round late to get their hands on him
That’s going to take half their draft stock
It’s a nice consolation for the Bills who missed out on the Odell Beckham Jr
Mocks should be changing around as the weeks go on
but it seems like the big three pass rushers will be mocked to the 49ers in some way
Home » Sant’Agnello
another country awaits us for a warm welcome: we are talking about Sant’Agnello
We can describe its history as recent enough if we take into account the year it obtained the autonomy from Sorrento
the farmhouses around here have centuries-old history and only due to the wilfulness of the inhabitants of these ancient villages
Sant’Agnello gained its independence at the time
History of the struggle for independence is well described by the composition of the municipal coat of arms: five towers representing the five districts that compose the town: Angri
The motto that accompanies the coat of arms
“Post Nubila Phoebus” (After the clouds
the Sun) wisely indicates the patriotic spirit and the struggle for independence of the Santanellese (that’s the name of this people) during the pre-unification times in Italy
this town is the only one bearing the name of its patron saint
we are pleased to quote a popular saying related to this occasion: “In Sant’Aniello
nu passo ‘e pecuriello” (In Sant’Agnello
indicating the slow and progressive lengthening of the hours of light during the day
Today we know that the solstice is conventionally set for December 21
this ancient peasant saying testifies the need
to mark the phases of the year and it is evidence for a time that precedes the Gregorian calendar revolution
occurred in the last quarter of the sixteenth century
Sant’Agnello certainly is a perfect compromise for those who want to have a relaxing and peaceful stay without giving up the convenience of having Sorrento just a few minutes away by car or
it offers the opportunity of enjoying relaxing baths by the sea and taking part in events and festivals where you can taste typical local products
The tranquillity of the upper area of Sant’Agnello allows the visitor to admire the surrounding nature characterized by the typical Sorrento vegetable gardens and walks on foot in the heart of the Angri district – the ancient historic centre – is an indispensable experience for the eyes and mind
It is a unique sensation to walk in the labyrinth of narrow streets in the district and
admire the tuff and piperno portals of the ancient buildings
giving the visitors the impression of a magically crystallized time
how wonderful to see the horizon and then be able to look out onto the splendid terrace overlooking the sea
How wonderful to admire the tophaceous coast all around with ecstatic eyes and
it’s an experience that warms the heart

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports gives his most overrated player on all 32 teams
A little over a month ago, the staff all gave our opinions for the most overrated Chargers player on both offense and defense
just put out his list of his most overrated player on each of the 32 teams in the NFL
The NFL’s most-overrated players on each team. And most overrated is … a safety. Guess. https://t.co/fGjmqYQRLE
he selected Orlando Franklin as the Chargers' most overrated player
"The Chargers signed him to a five-year, $36-million deal last spring and he certainly didn't play up to that last season. He missed six games with injuries and when he was on the field, he didn't look like a top-dollar guard. After playing so well for the Broncos in 2014
he needs to get back to that form in 2016 or he will likely be gone after the season."
I also selected Franklin back in early June as my offensive pick
Franklin needs to get back to the level of play that earned him that $36 million deal
both for his sake and for the sake of the Chargers' offense
If he does turn his play around and gets back to the level of play he showed during his time with the Broncos
Franklin could turn around and find himself on the underrated list next year

for exuding withintelligence and love for the game
for always having a smile on his face and for being ready to make a joke
For having played a crucial role in Inter’s history as a lawyer
and for having suffered during the Second World War while serving as a member of the Alpini
and we've felt the absence of so much of what he had to offer; his jokes
and knack of knowing when to launch a stinging attack or to ease things with a warm smile
Last December Inter paid homage to Prisco on the 100th anniversary of his birth and the 20th since he had passed
Now Giuseppe Prisco - known to all as Peppino - is being inducted into the FC Internazionale Milano Hall of Fame
In what is the fourth edition of inductions into the Hall of Fame
this is an acknowledgement of Prisco's contributions - which equal that of Nerazzurri players - as he becomes part of a select group of individuals whose contribution goes beyond mere sporting achievements and includes off-the-field feats which go beyond mere fandom
Prisco has made his mark over the course of a century with the Nerazzurri
being dubbed 'the greatest Inter fan of all time.' He was a second lieutenant in the Alpini during a campaign in Russia
but at his core he was a diehard Inter fan
Adored by the San Siro faithful and opposition supporters alike for his smiling and joking demeanour
