The southern Italian town of San Vitaliano, near Naples
has been suffering from a mysterious pollution problem in recent years
That was the battle cry Monday outside New York City Hall from Scott LoBaido
who staged his own protest against a proposed city ordinance that would specifically target coal and wood-fired pizza ovens
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection says the new rules would cut emissions by up to 75% and noted that wood and coal stoves "are among the largest contributors of harmful pollutants in neighborhoods with poor air quality."
"This common-sense rule, developed with restaurant and environmental justice groups, requires a professional review of whether installing emission controls is feasible," Ted Timbers (real name) of the city's environmental protection department told the NY Post
who describes himself a a "patriot" and "#1 freedom fighter," hit his breaking point Monday and started launching pizza like it was a modern-day Boston tea party
"The woke ass idiots who run this city are doing everything in their power to destroy it," LoBaido said as his protest began
"The world used to respect New Yorkers as tough
Give us pizza or give us death," LoBaido said before picking up boxes of cheese pizza that he then threw over the gate at city hall until cops stopped his protest
The protest went on long enough for LoBaido to make his point and then the cops gave him a court summons
If you think the war on wood-fired pizza is an isolated incident, let's not forget that Cleveland had a recent court case where a resident took a neighbor to civil court over a backyard wood-fired pizza oven
The neighbors said there was "physical discomfort caused by the smoke and fumes."
The amateur pizza chef won that court case
this pizza oven drama has been on woke minds for some time
If you go back to 2016, the Italian town of San Vitaliano issued a burning ban on businesses using wood
The solution: Businesses had to spring for filtration systems
And now you're seeing that put into motion in New York City
how do they think we are responsible for the pollution problems around here?" one Italian business owner told an Italian outlet
The wokes will just keep chipping away even if it's some guy slinging 100 pies a day in New York City
The pizza thing in New York also comes just months after the city declared it planned to start cutting "food-related emissions."

MANILA, Philippines – President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has asked high-profile lawyer Vitaliano Aguirre II to serve as justice secretary under his administration
Duterte’s fraternity brother and classmate at the San Beda Law School
He had only asked for an audience to congratulate Duterte for his victory but was told during the meeting that he had been selected. (LIST: Who’s who in the Duterte Cabinet)
is famous for being the lead counsel of Hubert Webb in the Vizconde murder-rape case
As the deputy counsel of the fact-finding investigation on the 2003 Oakwood mutiny
he conducted a direct examination of now Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and other mutineers in a televised hearing in Camp Aguinaldo
Duterte had earlier tapped Aguirre to represent him against the various petitions for disqualification lodged against him in connection with the presidential elections

Philippines – Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said fraternities cannot be completely banned because they are part of Filipinos’ constitutional right to form associations
Aguirre said the right to organize and the fight against violence should be taken into consideration in discussing the issue
(But of course we should all see that this frat is part and parcel of our constitutional right to form associations
that’s why we should weigh that – right to form associations and avoiding violence against students.)
Aguirre is a member of the Lex Talionis fraternity based at the San Beda College of Law
Amid calls to amend Republic Act (RA) 8049 or the Anti-Hazing Act of 1995
Aguirre said the law was already strengthened
“Actually pinatibay na and actually the law was strengthened and sa San Beda nga
meron kaming 3 victims na doon talagang ina-outlaw na ang frat sa amin
I don’t know with respect to other schools,” Aguirre told reporters
(Actually that law has been strengthened already. And in San Beda
we had 3 victims there and fraternities are already outlawed
I don’t know with respect to other schools.)
Some lawmakers, however, do not share Aguirre’s view. Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, a proponent of the measure, said the 22-year-old RA 8049 should be updated. (READ: What’s happening to hazing cases in the Philippines?)
Aguirre acknowledged that while San Beda has banned fraternities
students may still form groups or associations
“As a matter of fact there [are] so many frat officers convicted already
‘Yung experience naman sa (As for the experience in) San Beda
despite the fact [that] the formation or registration of frat [has] already been outlawed eh hindi mo maiiwasan ang pag-form ng association (you cannot avoid the forming of associations),” the justice chief said
“Palagay ko naman tama rin na hindi mo completely i-outlaw ang pag-form ng association kasi constitutional right ng lahat ng indibidwal ‘yan (I think it’s just right that we do not completely outlaw the forming of associations because that’s every individual’s constitutional right),” he added
