British indie-pop band The Feeling have just announced their new single The Right Wrong and upcoming album San Vito
Frontman Dan Gillespie Sells describes The Right Wrong as a pop anthem that promotes self-empowerment and shedding the burden of societal judgement – a theme close to his heart
The track is a vibrant precursor to their seventh studio album
which marks nearly two decades of The Feeling’s presence in the music industry
San Vito was self-produced by The Feeling and recorded in Southern Italy’s Salento region
a location that inspired not only the album’s title but also its sound
The band reflects on the process as a return to their roots of creative collaboration
similar to their early days recording in a shed
known for their UK Top 10 hit Fill My Little World and the critically acclaimed album Twelve Stops and Home
continue to weave their narrative through their music
such as the West End hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
and various solo projects by the band members
The upcoming album San Vito delves into themes of relationships
representing the band’s current perspective and including exciting collaborations yet to be announced
including a performance at London’s KOKO venue

The 12-track album was written and recorded in a studio in the Salento region of Puglia
The LP’s name is influenced by the local town San Vito Dei Normanni
Frontman Dan Gillespie Sells told Chris: “We basically saw the studio and thought
because the engineer would set us up every day and then leave us to our own devices and we did what we love doing
but it was nice to be in Italy and it was nice to be away from all the distractions
And it was also nice to be in a proper nice big studio because they&#x27;re expensive in London and there&#x27;s not that many of them left
The facilities were incredible and the local musicians that we worked with were incredible as well.”

When Chris asked if the band change things up on stage during their tours to make things spontaneous enough to stay engaged
it gets spontaneous because I forget what I’m doing and they have to follow me!”

Bassist and backing vocalist Richard Jones interjected: “He missed an entire verse
Dan joked: “To make up for the night before!”
The band formed in 1995 and rose to prominence with their single Fill My Little World ten years later 2005
Recalling the days before they hit the big time
Dan told Chris: “There was a point in our career where we basically had nothing going on
and we used to play ten shows a week in various different ski places in different parts of The Alps
Richard added: “It’s where we cut our teeth
We learnt so many songs that it all went into our DNA.”
Dan went on: “The funny thing is that when we first went there
there was a lot of bands doing jangly rock songs
because that was what a lot of covers bands in the noughties were doing
