to Vito and Maria Mossa in Sannicandro di Bari
and grandmother. She emigrated from Italy to Canada with her parents in 1951 and then to the United States in 1960. Rose lived in New York most of her life
and lastly Bedford. She moved to Danbury in 2021. Rose and her husband Martino were founding partners and operators of Racanelli's Pizza & Brew restaurants
a long-time Westchester landmark. Her greatest passions in life were cooking
taking care of the flowers at her restaurants
studying the bible and attending the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Brewster
Rose is survived by her four sons: Alex of Pleasantville
New York. She is also survived by her four daughters-in-law
and Brooke. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Martino and her parents Vito and Maria
Family and friends are invited to Pleasant Manor Funeral Home
2024 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation. Rose will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Martino who predeceased her on April 10
2011 in their family crypt at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne
2024 at 11:00 AM. If you plan to attend the funeral on Saturday
please arrive to Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the main office at 11:00 AM.

passed peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side; she was predeceased by her husband Francesco Cianciotta in 2001

and Enza (Paul) O’Donnell and loving grandmother to Domenic (Maria) Novielli
Michelina was a proud great-grandmother to Angel Connie
She was one of 7 siblings and was raised in a one room house by a single mother
Needless to say she came from humble beginnings
She was fortunate enough to be working as a house keeper for a wealthy family in Bari during WWII
The family treated her like one of their own daughters and while working there she learned how to read
proper etiquette and gained a strong appreciation for family
Family were people you cared about or people in need
they did not need to be related…the war taught her that
Lina moved to Toronto with her daughter Maria in 1952
Francesco and Lina opened their home on Berkley Street as a boarding house to new Italian immigrants
They helped dozens of families establish roots and start a new life in Canada
Lina will fondly be remembered by many extended family and friends for her kindness and generosity

She was full of energy and referred to as Nonna Dynamite
but most of all she loved her family; she would always put our needs
We are saddened to not have her here with us any longer…she was our Mamma Michelina
on what would have been our Dad’s 92nd birthday
Our only solace is that her passing was peaceful and that she left us to reunite with the love of her life and dance with him on his birthday

the family will be gathering for a private visitation and service
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday April 9th at 10:30am and will be available by webcast
