The Italian authorities have a mystery on their hands after discovering two underwater holes in the hull of a Greek-owned tanker offloading at the port of Savona
Investigators are exploring terrorism or sabotage but will not rule out mechanical failures or previous collision damage.
The Port Authority for Savona in Northern Italy issued a statement confirming what it called “anomalies in the unloading procedure.” The crude oil tanker Seajewel (108,888 dwt) arrived in the port on Friday
February 14 from Algeria and was directed to one of the oil terminal buoys to begin offloading
the Aframax tanker has been operated by Greece’s Thenamaris since 2021
Port officials said the “anomalies” were observed overnight between Friday into Saturday and the supervisors as a precaution suspended the offloading operation
No spills or injuries were reported among the 23 crewmembers aboard
but they are seeking to verify the origin of the anomalies.
the crew aboard the vessel heard two loud bangs
They reported an ingress of water and a survey of the hull revealed two damaged plates
The inner hull held and there was no leak.
The Savona Prosecutor’s Office became involved and they also brought in an elite team of divers to inspect the underside of the vessel
there is a hole about a meter in length in the hull
The hull plates are bent inwards indicating an external force
and they found dead fish in the area near the damage to the hull.
Italy’s anti-terrorism unit has also become involved in the investigation
The prosecutor’s office is not providing further details and the shipping company also confirms an investigation is underway
They are not responding to questions if the divers found residue from explosives or how or when an explosive could have been attached to the hull
Media reports quickly traded the tanker’s past activities with the RussianTankerTacker online site showing the vessel had made frequent stops at Russia’s Novorossiysk and traveling to Turkey
Ukraine’s news agency was quick to report the vessel had transported Russian oil on at least three occasions
Ambrey stated that other vessels with "a similar trading profile" have also been damaged by explosions
They said the common element in the incidents was vessels involved in the Russian oil trade
Security is being maintained around the Seajewel
Local media continues to post pictures of the divers working around the vessel

03:52am ESTShareSaveCommentNicolo Savona has become a Juventus regular (Photo by Marco Canoniero/LightRocket via Getty Images)
When Luciano Spalletti named his squad for Italy’s fixtures against Belgium and France
there were three players included that the Coach had never called up before; Fiorentina central defender Pietro Comuzzo
Lazio midfielder Nicolò Rovella and Juventus full-back Nicolò Savona
All three have been in excellent form thus far in 2024/25
with Comuzzo catching the eye after breaking into the Viola starting XI despite being just 19 years old
he has helped Fiorentina keep four clean sheets in those games
shining both in Serie A and the UEFA Conference League
Rovella has been a regular in Italy’s top division for some time now
the Juventus youth product spending time with Genoa and Monza in recent seasons while also making three appearances for the Bianconeri
there can be no debate over the inclusion of Rovella
one of a number of players to thrive under new Juventus boss Thiago Motta after being overlooked by the previous regime
the 21-year-old joined the Bianconeri when he was just eight
working his way through the youth ranks before being loaned to the SPAL under-19s for the 2020/21 campaign
Rovella spent two seasons in Serie C with the Juventus reserve team
racking up 61 appearances before signing a new contract this past summer when the decision was made to add him to the first team group
they had been clear from the start in telling us that they were aiming to keep Savona with the first team even before the transfer window opened
both the club and Motta confirmed their plan to keep Nicolò for the whole season.”
Asked about the biggest strength of his client
Puglisi would reply that Savona “isn’t affected by pressure” before adding that “Every time he moved from one age group to another
as well as the hard work and focus that comes from his desire to improve.”
Those qualities have been on full display this term
with Savona making his debut as a substitute against Como on the opening day of the season
That was followed by his first start a week later
the full-back getting on the score sheet and unable to hide his delight at making such an impact
“To add being able to score a goal… I don't know if I’ll be able to sleep
so I'm very happy and I will enjoy this moment as much as possible.”
“he’s an emerging player and a regular starter for Juventus.”
adding that the player has “continued to train hard and commit himself
so the credit goes to him for reaching this level.”
with Savona praising the way he is being coached every day
telling reporters that Motta “tells me to relax and to play without fear
I almost didn't believe it; I'm really happy
I understand that it's not easy for the coach to make choices
we have already grown a lot since the beginning of the season; it takes time to get used to a new Coach’s methods
but with his form for Juventus earning him a call-up to the national team
Bianconeri youth product Nicolò Savona can now look to shine in the blue shirt of Italy
The investigation into the explosion of the Maltese-flagged tanker Seajewel—occurring two weeks ago off the coast of Savona
in the west part of the northern Italian region of Liguria—has grown increasingly complex
Initial enquiries by the Genoa prosecutor’s office opened a file based on the hypothesis of a shipwreck aggravated by terrorism
Investigators are delving into the type of explosive devices used in the attack
Further complicating matters is the striking similarity with the attack on the tanker Grace Ferrum
investigators are analysing surveillance footage to trace the movements of the suspected commando behind the attack
switching from Serie C to the Italian top tier this term
has attracted a plethora of admirers with Bayer Leverkusen and AFC Bournemouth showing serious interest
The 22-year-old, a product of the Juventus Next Gen academy, was promoted to the senior side last August when Thiago Motta was head coach
Savona’s impressive Serie C season last term saw him feature in 41 matches with two goals
He appeared as a half-time substitute in the 3-0 home win over Como on Juve’s opening day of the current campaign
Savona bettered that on his debut as a starter for Juventus
by scoring during the 3-0 triumph at Hellas Verona
Savona has also featured at center-back and as a right midfielder
His dogged displays in a Juve jersey have recently earned call-ups to the Italy national team under chief Luciano Spalletti
unless there is a significant offer tabled in the region of €30 million (US$34.1m)
Sidelined for three matches with a thigh strain
he was on the bench for Igor Tudor’s first match at the helm
Savona, who has made 24 Serie A appearances, has been subjected to bit-part roles under interim head coach Tudor. He was a late substitute against AS Roma and Lecce with just 15 minutes so far to show his silky skills
As Leverkusen’s Frimpong is attracting keen interest from Liverpool and Manchester United for a summer move
the German Bundesliga champions have targeted Savona as his potential replacement
Bournemouth are also a possible club for Savona. The English team got a bargain deal from Juve last July when Motta allowed center-back Dean Huijsen to join them for just €15.2m (US$15.7m)
It was a surprise that the teenager was shifted on as Juve had already refused to sell Huijsen to AS Roma
Bournemouth are biting at the bit to pounce for another cheap buy from the Turin titans
having recently made inquiries about Savona
Yet the final decision lies with Savona, who has been at Juventus since 2011. His Bianconeri contract expires in four years, although at the moment there’s uncertainty about who will be the Juve head coach next season
It appears that Savona will be constantly overlooked by Tudor for his 3-4-2-1 tactical system should the Croatian stay
Savona is renowned for being able to take on opponents and surge forward when playing in midfield
The youngster has at least been provided with a choice of possible escape routes
following Motta’s carefree attitude of offloading players who have since proved him wrong about their top-flight ability

Italian authorities are investigating a possible attack after two underwater explosions damaged the hull of the oil tanker Seajewel while it was unloading crude oil at the port of Savona
The incident occurred between February 14 and 15
and the cargo operations were immediately suspended
the crew members aboard the vessel heard two loud bangs during the night
A hull inspection later revealed two damaged plates and a hole about a meter long
Divers who inspected the vessel found dead fish in the area
which further raised concerns about an explosion
an Aframax crude oil tanker built in 2009 and sailing under the Maltese flag
The ship arrived in Italy from Algeria and was docked at an oil terminal buoy for offloading when the damage was discovered
including the Savona public prosecutor’s office and an anti-terrorism unit from Genoa
Savona’s port authority confirmed that “anomalies” were detected during unloading
leading to the precautionary suspension of operations
The local harbour master’s office stated that the vessel remains structurally solid
and there is no risk of oil spillage or pollution in the area
Investigators are considering various possibilities
The Italian coast guard and specialised divers from La Spezia have been deployed to gather more evidence
Media reports have linked the Seajewel to the Russian oil trade
with tracking data showing that the vessel made multiple stops at Russia’s Novorossiysk port in recent months
Ukraine’s news agency reported that the tanker carried Russian oil at least three times in 2024
This incident follows a similar case involving the Cyprus-owned tanker Koala
which suffered explosions while docked at Russia’s Ust-Luga port a week earlier
Russian authorities initially described it as an engine room blast
but security experts have suggested that the vessel may have been targeted with limpet mines
Maritime intelligence firm Ambrey Analytics has reported that multiple vessels linked to the Russian oil trade have been hit by explosions in recent weeks
The Seajewel has a clean inspection record, with its last Port State Control review in the U.S
in June 2023 finding only a minor issue with its fire detection system
The tanker is insured through the UK-based NorthStandard club
Thenamaris has confirmed its compliance with international regulations and is cooperating with Italian authorities
The company has not disclosed whether any explosive residue was found on the hull or how an explosive device could have been attached

Juventus may have extended their domestic winning streak and moved into sole possession of fourth place over the weekend
but the following days have not been kind when it comes to the growing injury list Thiago Motta has to once again deal with
Juve have announced injuries to both midfielder Douglas Luiz (again) and fullback Nicolo Savona
with Savona getting injured in the loss to PSV Eindhoven and Douglas Luiz having to come off after just 20 minutes of his substitute appearance this past weekend against Cagliari
Both injuries are not considered to sideline each of them for a significant amount of time
but both players are expected to miss the remaining games before the March international break
Here’s the update on Douglas Luiz provided by the Juventus press office:
Following the muscular discomfort suffered in the second half of the Serie A match against Cagliari
Douglas Luiz underwent medical examinations at the J|Medical this Tuesday morning
which revealed a low-grade lesion of the femoral biceps of the left thigh
And especially so for a player who just can’t stay healthy for any sort of extended period of time for much of his first season in Turin
And here’s the update on Savona
who was forced to miss Juventus’ win over Cagliari over the weekend:
who did not take part in the away match against Cagliari due to muscle discomfort in his right thigh
underwent diagnostic tests at the J|Medical this morning
The examinations showed an elongation of the femoral biceps of the right thigh
Douglas Luiz being out injured is just the latest chapter in what has become quite the failed summer transfer after his move from Aston Villa
This will be the fourth time that the 26-year-old Brazilian has been forced to miss time due to injury — which
is very much not what Motta and Cristiano Giuntoli had in mind
Due to his multiple injury stops and Motta trying to manage his workload
Douglas Luiz has been limited to just six starts and played a total of 807 across all competitions this season
Savona’s absence will only exacerbate the limited options in defense that Motta has been dealing with for weeks now
The young Italian defender has already been dealing with a sports hernia injury
and has seen his playing time take a quick downturn as a result
he hasn’t looked close to the player that was impressing in his first few months as a senior level player following his promotion from Juve’s Next Gen squad
the only natural fullbacks currently available to Motta are Andrea Cambiaso
Jonas Rouhi and January signing Alberto Costa
who still has yet to make his debut with the club following his move from Vitória de Guimarães
Now it’s time to see if he actually misses any games because of this
As Nicolo Savona walked to toward the Juventus bench after being subbed off in the 66th minute of Wednesday night’s scoreless draw with Aston Villa
there was certainly a “here we go again” kind of feeling
That’s just the natural first reaction you should have when we are in the midst of one of Juventus’ biggest roster crunches in a few years
There was, however, a bit optimism coming out of the trip to England that Savona’s removal resulted in nothing major rather than ..
we got the medical scans that Juve manager Thiago Motta said would take place
and thankfully that initial bit of hope was the right path to take
just because nothing serious has been found
that doesn’t totally mean Savona is clear of any potential missed time
Juventus announced Thursday that Savona has been cleared on any sort of injury after he was forced off against Aston Villa due to feeling discomfort in his right adductor
Like with Vlahovic’s situation in which he picked up a minor muscle injury during the November internaitonal break
Savona now enters the day-to-day zone in which Juve has been writing a lot lately when it come to injuries: “his condition will be assessed in the coming days.”
#Savona: escluse lesioni. #Juventus
That could mean he’s available to face Lecce on Sunday night
his potential absence will put even further strain on Juventus’ injury situation that currently saw eight players miss out against Aston Villa
with just four outfield players available off the bench
that would mean the only outfield players Motta would have available to him off the bench would likely be the trio of: Jonas Rouhi
That’s just even wild to consider even though Juventus just played a Champions League game with just four outfield players on the bench
but the only hope that Savona can recover in time so that the injury situation doesn’t officially get worse than it already is
we deserve some actual good injury news rather than just about everything that we’ve been seeing for much of the last couple of weeks
West Ham and Everton interested in Juventus’ Nicolo Savona | OneFootballGet Italian Football News
Serie A giants Juventus are considering a sale of defender Nicolo Savona and there is rising interest from West Ham and Everton
TuttoJuve’s Mirko di Natale has reported about the situation of the right-back and he has confirmed interest from Bournemouth in Savona
while stating that Bayer Leverkusen are also a leading candidate and they see the youngster as a replacement for Jeremie Frimpong
But now, West Ham and Everton are also interested in Savona and can consider making a summer move. The Hammers also hold an interest in Genoa’s Koni de Winter and it remains to be seen if they pursue a move for both Savona and the Belgium international
Juventus will consider a sale of the Italian if the right price is offered and as of now
they want a fee of around €25 million to sell him

GREENWOOD — In Bolivar-Richburg’s first game back in action since their clash with archrival Cuba-Rushford at St
they were taken the distance and much more by the Wildcats of Jasper-Troupsburg after an early head start by the hosts in white and black was erased in favor of a back-and-forth duel down the stretch
One overtime period wasn’t enough for the two squads
as both teams went to war one final time in double-overtime to officially set the record straight
Despite all the fight that the Wildcats continued to put against the Wolverines to remain tightly alongside them
the second and final extra session of basketball proved to be enough for the visitors in black and red to turn the tide completely
as they raced off on a massive game-ending 14-2 run of Jasper-Troupsburg to finish an incredible first game of 2025 with a 72-60 victory in Greenwood
“Jasper-Troupsburg really worked hard and they really brought that blue collar mentality that they possess,” Wolverines coach Justin Thomas said
“They hit a bunch of shots to go with it and that didn’t allow us to put them away when we wanted to
We had a lot of chances ourselves to try and put the game away
We didn’t get off the bus until later in the first quarter when we quickened the play with a string of points before cutting things down as time went on
Both teams crashed through the first half facade in a big way to open a first half that could have went either way
with the Wildcats providing the first quarter in explosive fashion behind a nearly quarter-long 15-2 run of Bolivar-Richburg (6-4) which included the game’s first seven points out of the gate
The Wolverines would go on to make up ground to close out the session
netting the last seven points in consecutive succession
They then turned the jets on in the second quarter with a massive run of their own
holding Jasper-Troupsburg briefly at bay with a 12-4 run to overtake the Wildcats in the driver’s seat behind a Kingston Loucks breakaway bucket with less than two minutes remaining in the half
The two foes dealt back-and-forth exchanges leading up to a go-ahead basket from Xavier Ramchuk just outside the arc to head into the break with a 24-23 lead
The second half saw both teams lay claim on a near-even performance from within each quarter with the Wolverines pulling back ahead in the third quarter before the Wildcats closed the gap back down once again to force overtime in the fourth
The back-and-forth pace carried into the first overtime
when the visitors clinged to a 58-55 lead with fewer than 20 seconds remaining on the clock
But after a smart workaround the court with possession
the ball landed in Landon Zver’s hands for a clutch game-tying three-pointer to ultimately force yet another overtime period
The action worked its way towards a 63-60 Wolverines lead down the stretch of what was the final frame of play of the night
as Bolivar-Richburg now took matters into their own hands to provide one brilliant finish to the contest — a 14-2 double-overtime elongating run of Jasper-Troupsburg which saw them net the last nine points uninterrupted to cap off a tough victory over the road
Bolivar-Richburg was paced by a breakout performance from Kingston Loucks
as he assembled his biggest game of the season to-date with a season-high 32 points — 15 of those points off five of the team’s 10 total three-pointers from the outer perimeter
who was held scoreless through the first half by the Wildcats
as he totaled 23 points — a concluding mark that included an absolutely glacial 12-for-15 outing at the charity stripe to aid in solidifying their victory
Brayden Zilker knocked down three more triples on his way to an 11-point performance to further Bolivar-Richburg’s cause on offense
The Wolverines are back home Friday night to host one of their toughest challenges of the season
as they square off with the Eagles of Fillmore in a 7:30 p.m
Totals: 23 16-23 72.JASPER-TROUPSBURG: James Ainsworth 12 3-6 29
HOUGHTON — A competitive first half between Keshequa and Houghton Academy was put on full display right from the start
with both teams wheeling and dealing baskets through the first eight minutes before the visiting Wildcats managed to create a halftime buffer zone going into the locker room on Wednesday
the team in black and orange went on to create a brand new ballgame
they took complete command of every angle on the floor
as they posted a gargantuan third quarter shutout of the host Panthers to extend their lead insurmountably towards what was shaped into a 45-31 victory
While Keshequa was searching for their answers down low
Houghton Academy (3-3) was able to construct an early first quarter lead behind a strong three-point game from the outer perimeter
as they scored all 12 of their points within the frame off three triples — two from the hand of Hoang Phung
who also chipped in with a 3-for-3 outing at the charity stripe
The Wildcats then began to funnel some momentum in their favor in the second quarter
garnering the edge behind the guidance of Aiden Upright
who had half of the team’s 12 points in the stanza to record a 22-17 lead going into the locker room
the visitors pulled out all the stops and cashed in on the game’s biggest run
as they capitalized on both ends of the floor to silence Houghton Academy completely
assembling what was a 13-0 scoreless jaunt to flip the game upside down in their favor and push their advantage out away from reach for good to secure the victory at game’s end
Gavin Martino rounded off the scoring for the Panthers with the remaining four points
The Panthers will look to spring back into the win column on Friday in Friendship
visiting host Friendship/Scio for tip-off at 7:30 p.m
HAMMONDSPORT — Wednesday night witnessed Andover/Whitesville carry over all the ingredients to produce yet another offensive thunderstorm once more back over the road in their latest trip
as they began to make it rain right away against host Hammondsport before the thunder and lightning settled in right behind it from that point forward to produce a season-high 95-point performance in the team’s 95-36 win over the Lakers
“I’m extremely happy with the effort from our boys tonight
We corrected some of the minor mistakes from the night before
and we got contributions from everyone right across the board,” Andover/Whitesville coach Jimmy Joyce said
“Colt (Calladine) and Brody (Vance) really dominated offensively
I was really happy with the way Ethan (Warriner) played
though most of his stats won’t show up on the sheet
Their best player is difficult to defend against
and I thought we played him well for the most part
This was definitely the win we needed tonight.”
The first three quarters saw Andover/Whitesville (6-3) put their nose to the grindstone on the offensive forefront
as they dominated play with a clamorous 26-8 run of Hammondsport out of the gate — a run that continued to blossom in size over the course of time
After adding more room in the second quarter
the visitors in black solidified their advantage once and for all with a 30-point third quarter that saw five different contributors all pitch in on the efforts
who led all scorers for Andover/Whitesville with a game-high 30 points
Not far behind him was Colton Calladine and his 26-point performance
James Miller-Young chipped in with 11 points
while Vinny Joyce established his dominance down low off the glass
Andover/Whitesville will look to keep their foot down on the gas come Friday night back home in Whitesville
CUBA — The season has officially hit the first full week of January and for just the second time on Wednesday
the Rebels of Cuba-Rushford have taken the court in front of their home crowd
who came right out of the gate tenaciously to hang right alongside their opposition
Cuba-Rushford tilted the balance of power in their direction permanently with a thunderous jaunt of the Bobcats to close out the half
garnering more than enough cushion to firmly hold their lead and send their home fans home with a 73-32 victory
“Hinsdale came out and pushed us around a bit on the boards and we responded really well later on in the second and third quarters,” said Rebels coach Pat Wight
“Giving up just one offensive rebound and just one point in the second
I was really pleased with the overall effort the guys had tonight
It was finally nice to get back inside here and play a game in front of this home crowd
This is only the second time and we’re already in January.”
The damage was done by the Rebels (7-3) in the first half of play
beginning with a tough 26-point frame in the first quarter they were granted following an early 10-2 run in the first three minutes to help set the tone
The offense continued to operate at high velocity entering the next eight minute session
as they buckled down and delivered the goods with a 23-1 run of the Bobcats to push their advantage into insurmountable territory for the remainder of battle
Three different scorers all eclipsed double figures to set the pace for the Rebels
with Carter Brown and his game-high 22 points and five steals leading the charge
Donovan Breckenridge was just a rebound shy of assembling a double-double performance
sinking four of the team’s five triples on his way to a 14-point game
Dean Frank recorded six steals and handed out five assists
while Eli Sleggs was strong off the glass with 10 boards — a team-high
Tyler Richards led the scoring with eight team-high points
Cody Hand was right behind him with seven points of his own
Both teams are back on the hardwood Friday night
with the Rebels welcoming in Genesee Valley/Belfast for battle in a 7:30 p.m
visit to Whitesville to take on Andover/Whitesville
CUBA — Fresh off a close victory over New Life Christian just 24 hours ago
the Lady Rebels of Cuba-Rushford maintained their winning edge come Wednesday night back inside the Wighthouse
as they started fast and never looked back to score their seventh victory of the season by a 49-10 count over the visiting Lady Bobcats of Hinsdale
A fiery and radiant opening eight minute segment for the Lady Rebels (7-4) set the stage for the entire evening ahead
as they pumped down on the gas pedal and did not let off of it to score a 19-2 run paced by the contributions of both Lily Tompkins and Lilly Farwell
who combined to score 14 of those points in the midst of the jaunt
Tompkins and Farwell each scored 13 points to power the Cuba-Rushford attack
Adding more help along the way was Arlah Shaffer
Hinsdale (0-6) was led by Lily Bushnell and her six team-leading points
Sarah Easterly rounded off the scoring with the remaining four points

the Lady Wolverines of Bolivar-Richburg were zipping along in the driver’s seat with wins in their last four games as they looked to continue their winning ways with a visit to Oswayo Valley
Despite points being rare to come by in the first eight minutes
it was a frame that saw the Lady Wolverines take care of business with the game’s first lead heading into the next frame of action
the tide was turned by the Lady Green Wave
as they put all the pieces of the puzzle together to net a stellar end to the first half with a big run of their opposition to put towards what eventually formed into a 43-12 home win
The Lady Wolverines (4-5) found a slight advantage in the midst of their first quarter battle with the Lady Green Wave
with Carmen Crowley helping establish the offense with four of the team’s six points coming from down low and at the charity stripe off a 2-for-2 outing
But then the door was slammed shut by the hosts
as Oswayo Valley turned up the heat and went on a 14-4 first half run to close out the frame with the 19-10 lead in their possession
The window of opportunity was opened once again by the Lady Green Wave to ensure that all the momentum was siphoned in their favor
as they went on to score nine consecutive points while holding Bolivar-Richburg scoreless from all angles on the floor in the third quarter to help finish off their victory
Crowley led all Lady Wolverines scorers with a team-high eight points
Emma Sisson and Sydney Faulkner each had two points
Bolivar-Richburg will regroup and return to action next Wednesday night with a 6 p.m
trip to Friendship to battle host Friendship/Scio

The first surprise promotion of the new season has arrived
The Juventus senior squad has officially doubled the number of Nicos it has on its roster
there’s no reason for one half of the Nicos to leave the building
Juventus announced Thursday that they have extended the contract of 21-year-old defender Nicolo Savona through 2029
Savona — who has been at Juventus since 2011 — has now officially been promoted to the senior squad after a strong preseason showing that clearly impressed first-year manager Thiago Motta enough to make this kind of decision
So while we don’t know what Savona’s role off the bench will be this coming season
he is now in position to potentially be the latest Next Gen promotee to break into the first team and get some minutes — especially with the squad so incomplete heading into the final couple of weeks of the summer transfer market
Nicolo Savona renews his contract and is promoted to the Juventus First Team ⚪️⚫️✍️Congrats
Savona’s versatility is something that surely has helped him stick and rise up the ranks in recent years
with the ability to both as a central defender as well as a right-sided fullback
In Juventus’ announcement of Savona’s new deal
they made sure to add that he is also capable of playing as a midfielder
although it’s been as a fullback in which Savona has played so far this preseason under Motta
Despite still being 21 years old — and he won’t turn 22 until the middle of March — Savona joins the Juventus senior team after gaining a whole lot of valuable experience in Serie C with the Next Gen squad last season
He appeared in 41 games in all competitions last season
playing nearly 3,600 minutes over that span
He scored two goals and added three assists for the Next Gen squad last season
Juventus have been enduring torrid times with injuries since the start of the season
with many considering it one of the main factors behind the club’s disappointing campaign
The Bianconeri have already lost their most reliable defender Gleison Bremer to a season-ending ACL injury back in October
while Juan Cabal followed suit shortly afterwards
Arkadiusz Milik has been suffering several setbacks since June
with his return to action being delayed on several occasions
a host of players have been dealing with muscle injuries
the likes of Douglas Luiz and Dusan Vlahovic
The management tried to add some depth to the squad in January by making four signings
but after establishing himself as a pillar at the back
Renato Veiga’s momentum was derailed by a muscle lesion suffered in the decisive clash against PSV Eindhoven
Moreover, Nicolo Savona became the latest to succumb to injury
The youngster has been dealing with a groin issue for several weeks
While he’s been trying his best to overcome the problem and avoid a stop
his condition worsened during Saturday’s training session
The 21-year-old should undergo medical tests on Monday morning to detect the extent of the knock
So according to IlBianconero
Juventus players have now suffered a whopping 25 injuries since the start of the season
varying between devastating long-term blows
the Bianconeri have had 177 combined absentees in their fixtures across all competitions
The source also reveals that out of 27 first-team players
only nine have yet to sustain significant physical problems
Fans and observers alike have been wondering about the club’s alarming number of injuries this season
While some believe it could be down to the technical staff’s training regime
others suggest the hectic schedule and the ever-growing number of matches during the campaign is to blame
