In a day of great significance for the history and culture of Terracina
important archaeological discoveries were presented
rewriting part of the past of this ancient Italian city
The event took place on Saturday afternoon as part of free visits to the excavation area of the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo and attracted a large crowd of citizens and tourists
conducted by the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture
have revealed surprising data about the evolution of Terracina
a city with a history spanning from the Iron Age to the medieval period
These investigations have confirmed hypotheses that had been proposed for years
were considered unshakable in local historiography
Researchers Francesca Diosono and Miriam Knechtel
along with the staff of the Città di Terracina Foundation
explained to attendees the new evidence discovered during the past months of excavation
One of the most surprising revelations is the confirmation that Terracina existed as a city in the 6th century BC
Terracina was not a Roman colony but maintained a friendly relationship with Rome
as reflected in the Roman request to the Carthaginians to “not touch Terracina” during the Punic Wars
This fact highlights the strategic importance of the city
which already had a vital port for trade at that time
including the export of high-quality wine to other parts of Europe
as demonstrated by finds of sunken ships off the French coast
Another of the most significant discoveries is related to the temples of the goddesses Feronia and Venus
the city developed around the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo
where a temple dedicated to the goddess Feronia was located
a second temple known as the Piccolo Tempio was built
a place associated with Feronia’s spring mentioned by Virgil in his writings
These findings confirm the existence of a well-organized sacred area from early times
with a network of terraces used for the production of ceramics
long before the monumentalization of the area
but retained the sacred area at the top of Mount Sant’Angelo
on the famous monumental terrace supported by majestic arcades
a large temple was built in the 1st century BC
which was long believed to be dedicated to Jupiter Anxur
new research suggests that this sanctuary was actually consecrated to Venus Obsequens
one of the most revered deities in the Roman world
seems to resolve a long-standing debate among experts about the true identity of the temple
work on the so-called terrazza superiore has revealed traces of a semicircular plaza and remains of capitals and columns
indicating the possible existence of another temple in this area
along with walls dating to the 2nd century BC
will require further studies and excavations to gain a complete understanding of its function and significance within the sacred complex
The event was widely praised by local authorities
president of the Città di Terracina Foundation
expressed his satisfaction with the success of the day: The new research allows us to redefine the history of Terracina and the surrounding area
and we are convinced that the sacred area of Monte Sant’Angelo still has many secrets to uncover
We hope that events like this become a tradition

The Roman Theater of Terracina was inaugurated
intact and original: all its constituent elements
but it has not been reconstructed or contaminated with modern material
The theater was therefore returned to the city on a day of celebration. After the greeting of the Mayor of Terracina
and the institutional greetings in the presence of the highest authorities of the Ministry of Culture
and the Mayors of the neighboring municipalities
there was a brief introduction moderated by the Superintendence’s Communications Manager Gilda Iadicicco
Director General of Superintendencies Luigi La Rocca announced from the stage that support from the Ministry will continue in order to continue the works that will allow the full accessibility of the theater
Superintendent Francesco Di Mario then took the floor
reconstructing all the work done and directed by him over the years that has made it possible to bring to light this Theater
a very rare example of an entirely original structure
the many people present were able to see images of what has been done over time
how the appearance of the Forum has changed
starting with the tragic bombing of September 4
On the big screen appeared the head of a statue
one of the last finds unearthed: a portrait of Julius Caesar that faithfully reproduces his face
also considering its excellent state of preservation
which also allowed for a photographic reconstruction of Julius Caesar
The portrait can now be seen in the nearby Capitolium next to those of Livia and Gaius
The opening concluded with a concert organized by the Fondazione Campus Internazionale di Musica di Latina with the Roma Tre Orchestra that began its performance by singing the Italian Anthem
“It was a great emotion to return this theater to its City
finally reuniting it with the Forum,” commented Superintendent Francesco Di Mario
with the cavea being restored to its original appearance by repositioning each of the limestone blocks
which among its many gifts also gave us this unique portrait of Julius Caesar
which will surely be talked about in the world.”
My training as an architect allows me to say
that our Theater is a precious and extraordinary jewel that joins the immense heritage of our City
marks a rebirth that is not only of the Theater but of the entire community,” concluded Terracina Mayor Francesco Giannetti

“Multifamily demand fueled rent growth of 15.75 percent in Ontario in 2021 and 8.91 percent rent growth is projected for 2022.” Green and IPA’s Greg Harris
and Christopher Zorbas represented the seller
Bridge Investment Group and procured the buyer
Cameron Chalfant and Jesse Zarouk of IPA capital markets arranged interest-only acquisition financing
“Terracina Apartment Homes is well insulated from the threat of future competition as most of Ontario Ranch is zoned for single-family homes
and new homes sell at top-of-the-market prices within 45 days,” added Garcia

An employee at a Naples senior living facility was arrested Monday
accused of molesting an elderly patient.
Collier County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Ganassin
73 — an employee at Terracina Grand Senior Living in Naples — after the woman’s concerned daughter installed a camera that captured Ganassin kissing the woman
putting his hands down her pants and up her shirt
The woman’s daughter reported “numerous incidents,” including finding a ripped off pair of adult diapers in the bathroom
Ganassin was found in the woman’s room with the door locked
Terracina Grand directors conducted an internal investigation
but they found inconsistency in one of the reporters statements and closed the case
Terracina Grand could not answer what those inconsistencies were.
“The safety and well-being of our residents is our highest priority,” Terracina Grand Director Tracy Hooks wrote in an email “We are fully committed to providing a safe and caring environment for our residents
We are aware criminal charges were filed against a former employee of Terracina Grand
We are fully cooperating with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in their investigation
after deputies informed Hooks about the incidents that the woman's daughter reported
Hooks found the camera system in the building had been tampered with
was disabled and the next day it was restored
A video showed Ganassin as the only one entering or leaving the area after the camera system was tampered with
Neglected: Florida's worst nursing homes left open despite history of poor care, deaths
Data: Florida's nursing home ratings
and Terracina Grand officials suspended him
He told deputies he is aware of the elderly woman’s dementia and admitted to kissing the woman at first but denied the rest of the allegations
When deputies showed Ganassin the video of him trying to remove the woman’s diaper
he admitted it was him in the video and apologized for his actions
Ganassin was arrested and booked through the Naples Jail Center.
He was also charged with criminal mischief.

one of the licensed tour guides from the Jewish community of Rome will launch her first jogging tour
The two-hour moderate paced run highlights the history of the Jews in ancient Rome — from their beginnings in antiquity and Christianity to the modern community of today
The goal of this light jogging tour is to make it possible for visitors to fit a moderate exercise routine while simultaneously enjoying a tour introudcing the Jewish history of Rome
Tourists love to hear about the stories of the Caesars
help us understand the Jewish history of the past
Storytelling from the Torah is the central appeal of Terracina’s jogging tour
as she stops at important historical ancient ruins related to the lesser known Jewish history of the eternal city
But what distinguishes Terracina’s tour from the tours of her colleagues is her remarkble ability to interject a fitness routine throughout
so her clients can manage to experience prayer
to experience Israel as pointing the way to such a wholesome tour
Tour participants will visit the Jewish Quarter (former ghetto) and learn
They will also learn about Rome’s Jewish community
meet some of the elders telling their life stories
and even have a chance to stop for a coffee and kosher treats
“I am very excited about launching my first jogging tour because
I like to encourage and motivate my women fitness tour groups about the physical and mental health benefits of running
benefits now viewed by rabbis as being part of the key Torah value of caring for one’s health
From brisk walking with some major pep in our step
to shuffling along to a light moderate jog
from modestly dressed women to reform and conservative women in athletic gear
bust’n a move from the Jewish Quarter ( former ghetto) up to the Capitoline Hill
and down through the major street of the Roman Imperial Road," explains Terracina
a healthy kosher diet and fitness are already popular in the USA and in Israel among women of all ages
work-out and go on fun running tours like mine
You do not have to be a ‘runner’ because I customize each tour accordingly to my participants
I can have a small group of 6 participants from 30-50 years of age who are all good walkers and keep track of all their steps
make sure everyone has their water bottles full of water and we begin in front of the Great Synagogue to begin our brisk walk around the Jewish Quarter (former ghetto) up to the theater of Marcellus
depending differing routes to suit differing abilities
we always return to the Jewish Quarter (former ghetto)
“My fitness excursions are from 2 to 5K and I like to keep it simple by making frequent stops along important archaeological sites that has a Jewish story
At each site I highlight some of the important historical events that took place among the Jews of Rome in the Greco-Roman empire and participants can take photographs and selfies
Terracina also shares her family’s history of what it was like to live in the ghetto before
She stops to show participants the original building where her father lived when he was a child right in the heart of the Jewish Quarter
So don’t forget to bring a good pair of running shoes to have an enjoyable and healthy time while learning about the Jewish history of Rome.
