A versatile assemblage of new interpretations and debuting product designs facilitated a dialogue on the value of authenticity at the Tortona Rocks district in Milan
by Zohra KhanPublished on : Apr 18
From international creatives and Italian multidisciplinary studios to fashion brands
this edition had something in store for everyone
named after the French pastry of ‘a thousand layers’
was known only through a small maquette found on Perriand’s desk
which originally didn’t come to fruition
perhaps due to its sheer complexity and limited technical know-how at the time it was conceived
The exhibition inspires with its free-spirited dialogue between a design icon who never received due recognition in her heyday and a brand that continually exerts effort to bring important artefacts of design culture—previously hidden in inaccessible conditions—to the wider audience
mouth-blown glass vases and ceramic tableware
The presentation also encompassed a gift shop where some of the pieces were available for purchase
Tartan by Paola Navone OTTO Studio for Braid
Reflective of Milanese designer Paola Navone’s unquenchable curiosity for new forms
materials and stories is her new outdoor collection
sofas and loungers find an ‘explosive mix of classic and contemporary’ in the collection
whereas the furnishing’s aesthetic—characterised by intertwining lines and colour—draws from the look and feel of houndstooth
true to the unexpected nature of Navone’s works
much like an exercise in intentional irregularity
A series of modular furniture pieces—ideated for both indoor and outdoor spaces—was presented by the Turkish company SNOC
titled Design Meets the Raw Beauty of Nature
sports sleek bespoke pieces in refined ash and natural teak wood frames designed by international multidisciplinary studios
‘allowing each piece to seamlessly adapt to different environments’

Dive into the highlights of Euroluce 2025 and explore all the design districts—Fuorisalone
Durini and beyond—alongside the faceted programme of Salone del Mobile.Milano this year
STIR brings forward the installations and narratives that shaped the dialogue around design’s role to inspire
which had either never been produced or existed only as prototypes
which include the Canapé de la Résidence de l'Ambassadeur du Japon
Table Mille-Feuille and Fauteuil Visiteur Indochine
were unveiled for the first time as limited editions
These pieces exemplify Perriand’s poetic rigour and forward-thinking vision, blending modernist sensitivity with artisanal spirit. Each item, reissued with dramatic flair, reaffirms her ability to harmonise form and function, nature and culture, art and daily life. The design exhibition reflects a desire to preserve and celebrate cultural heritage
Digital tools allowed audiences to shape their sensory environment
blending visuals and sounds to create a fluid
This participatory approach symbolised the merging of human creativity and technological innovation
emphasising the power of design to engage and inspire
IKEA’s return to Fuorisalone was a moment of reflection and transformation. Showcased at Via Vigevano 18, the exhibition presented a debut collection that combined classic elements with contemporary design
highlighting the brand’s enduring relevance
By illustrating how everyday choices could drive meaningful change
the exhibit focused on sustainability and accessibility
using innovative materials and thoughtful solutions to encourage a more conscious way of living
This dual approach underscored the potential of design in everyday life
skillfully coalescing functionality and social responsibility
Livintwist’s Belvedere collection by Matteo Ragni brought a nostalgic yet forward-thinking perspective to outdoor furniture. Inspired by the lightness of the 1960s, the furniture designs focused on emotional well-being and the need for digital detox in today’s hyper-connected world
encouraging human connection and relaxation
By featuring retro sensibilities with modern practicality
Ragni’s work offered a thoughtful reflection on how design can frame our relationships with time and space
Another exploration of outdoor living was found in TA Design’s Timeless Nature exhibition
meditative spaces designed to harmonise with the natural world
Through its careful use of materials and its celebration of nature’s rhythms
the installation demonstrated how outdoor environments can be both functional and calming
It invited viewers to consider how design can foster deeper connections with the environment
blurring the lines between the built and nature
Schindler's X8 initiative immersed visitors in the future of vertical mobility, shaping how movement is integrated within urban landscapes. Through an interactive installation by Studio Habits, the exhibition demonstrated how advanced engineering and creative design eliminate past limitations
opening up newer possibilities for architectural freedom and dynamic movement in cities
Abet Laminati offered a subtle but critical contribution to the district with MEG-H panels used for signage across Zona Tortona
Renowned for their durability and environmental resilience
these panels showcased the practical side of design
the panels enhanced the visual cohesion of the event
reflecting the importance of thoughtful material choices in creating a seamless and engaging experience
Gruppo Buoninfante’s X-ReM installation brought a focus on well-being through design. Featuring the innovative X-Bio mattress, the experiential showcase revealed how technology and material science could transform sleep quality. From advanced thermoregulation systems to energy-efficient recovery features
the installation emphasised the importance of design in promoting physical and mental rejuvenation
Tortona Rocks celebrated design as a dynamic and multifaceted discipline capable of reshaping societal narratives
The installations and projects presented forged pathways toward new sustainability and technological advancement paradigms
This edition reminded the design world of its capacity to inspire
leaving an indelible mark on Milan Design Week

the first in Casale Monferrato against Bertram Tortona
who has lost its place in the playoffs’ race and will try to make up for it
This game for Tortona is almost a last chance to stay in the race
But Olimpia cannot afford any missteps even if the priority is to enter the post-season with an healthy roster
In this game Leandro Bolmaro – with a protective mask – and Shavon Shields will return under minutes restrictions
Tortona won the first game between the teams in Milan
but in the standings it is four wins away from Olimpia
only winning and staying close to the teams ahead will matter

THEOlimpia Milan breaks the bank Tortona with a solid performance
EA7 keeps alive its hopes of earning home field advantage in the playoffs
then De Raffaele's team will automatically be out
defending aggressively and immediately taking the lead thanks to an enterprising Mannion
but Tortona's bench and above all the excellent percentages from the arc of the black and whites kept De Raffaele's team alive
with the feeling that the game was still all to be decided
Vital 7: in the first half the team clings to its offensive performance to stay in the match
it has a physiological decline in the other two quarters
Chicken 5: he misses one of the most important games of the season for Tortona
Gorham 6: dealing with Mirotic and LeDay is not easy
but he still manages to make himself heard
Baldasso 6: from the bench he gives the usual jolt with his scoring streak
but this time he is less precise than usual
Kamagate 5: he has a lot of difficulty especially on defense
where he too often gets trapped halfway in the pick'n'roll
while also on offense he makes some gross errors
Zerini 5: few minutes on the parquet for him
Candida 6.5: good at attacking decisively
he earns a couple of free throws and also hits accurately from the arc
Denegri 6: he struggles against Milan's physical defense
but still scores 8 points and finds the way to the basket
Biligha 6.5: He punishes his former team on a couple of occasions with a mid-range jumper and tries to match the intensity of his opponents under the basket
when the triples don't go in his presence on the court becomes ineffective
Weems 5: he remained completely out of the game
finishing with a 0/4 from the field and 12 minutes played
Mannion 7: His initial burst helps Olimpia to gain rhythm
he plays a decisive match closing in double figures
sometimes to the point of committing a foul
Brooks 6.5: Tortona gives him special attention and he never manages to get going
but he doesn't overdo it in trying to get into rhythm and is still a positive factor for Olimpia
LeDay 7.5: a constant presence on both ends of the court
Diop 6.5: He gives away some important extra possessions to his teammates and in general is much more active under the basket
finding some good two-man plays with his teammates on several occasions
Bolmaro 6.5: he returns and returns to battle any opponent
solid performance and without the slightest fear of various contacts
Ricci 6: He plays a lot of minutes as a 4 and holds up well on defense against Gorham and Severini
Shields 7: even for him limited minutes
but in the decisive moment he scores important plays
silent in the first two quarters but lethal in the third period

The Pinacoteca del Divisionismo in Tortona expands its holdings with an acquisition: Maestra di scena
a 1910 work by Umberto Boccioni (Reggio Calabria
Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo’s The Way of the Workers
The announcement confirms the Pinacoteca’s central role in the study and enhancement of Divisionism
consolidating its prestige in the Italian museum scene
exhibited in 1910 at his solo show at Ca’ Pesaro
represents a fundamental stage in his artistic evolution
The figure of Maestra di scena Adalgisa Maffi emerges with great expressive force thanks to the Divisionist technique
enriched by references to Northern Expressionism and Gaetano Previati’s luministic research. The entry of Maestra di scena into the permanent collection follows the acquisition of Il cammino dei Lavoratori
a preparatory study for the famous Quarto Stato
the museum enriches its exhibition itinerary
offering the public a broader view of the evolution of pointillism and its influence on the twentieth-century avant-garde
The official presentation to the Italian press will take place on Thursday
Maestra di scena marks Boccioni’s transition from pointillism to early expressionist and futurist strains
The painting reveals an extraordinary fusion of Divisionist technique and intense expressive research
The use of color and light defines a close
incisive composition that emphasizes the plastic power of the figure
The painting is placed at a turning point in Boccioni’s career
when pointillism was transformed into a language capable of conveying dynamism and emotional tension
Previati’s influence is evident in the luministic construction of the image
while the treatment of the face and gaze recalls expressionist suggestions à la Munch
the Pinacoteca recently welcomed Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo’s Il cammino dei Lavoratori (The Workers’ Walk)
conceived as a study for the monumental Fourth Estate
restores the social tension of the time with extraordinary power
advance toward a light that symbolizes hope and renewal
giving the scene an intense narrative force
The Way of the Workers stands out as an autonomous work
capable of evoking Pellizza’s symbolic vision with immediacy
the Pinacoteca del Divisionismo houses more than 145 works by the main exponents of this movement
The museum is configured as a point of reference for the study of the different declinations of Divisionist technique
from Symbolism to social painting to the luministic research that influenced Futurism
renovated according to modern museum criteria
allows visitors to follow the evolutionary path of Divisionism through thematic rooms dedicated to its protagonists and the various declinations of the movement
Among the artists in the collection are Segantini
A particularly important nucleus is that of the works of Pellizza da Volpedo
The works exhibited in the Pinacoteca cover a wide range of subjects
highlighting the many souls of Divisionism
One of the fundamental aspects of the movement is the experimentation with light and color
which finds expression in Segantini’s filamentous brushstrokes
Pellizza’s dotted drafts and Previati’s symbolist compositions
Another central dimension of pointillism is its social engagement
Many artists devoted themselves to depicting the living conditions of the weaker classes
developing a social verism that anticipated the civil commitment painting of the twentieth century
Longoni and Pellizza himself documented working-class and peasant reality with works that denounced the precariousness of life in the humbler classes
Divisionism is also distinguished by its ability to explore the landscape with a new sensibility
sea sunsets and country scenes are treated with a luministic attention that anticipates some Futurist research
would use pointillism as a springboard to develop their dynamic and visionary language
pointillism also opened up to Symbolist suggestions
investigating mystical and allegorical themes
Previati and Pellizza develop a pictorial language capable of translating spiritual visions into striking images
Tortona Rocks is celebrating its tenth anniversary with Unframed Design
breaking the mould with the traditional exhibition format and removing predefined themes to focus on creative freedom
visitors are invited to experience design spontaneously and on a personal level
turning uncertainty into an opportunity for discovery

It is possible that Kamagate's right hand touched Doornekamp's wrist
The contact does not seem to be so penalizing for Doornekamp who still maintains control of the ball
Pesic's whistle seems more gut than reasoned in terms of advantage/disadvantage
a technical foul is called – by the FIBA play by play to Kamagate – against Bertram
one point ahead and with two free throws to concede
even if the whistle is not particularly credible
probably – protesting quite blatantly – does not seem like the best choice
The 3 out of 3 of the Tinerfeños is proof of this
a referee will never go back on a decision like that
so if you really have to protest about something
in these circumstances it would be better (less harmful) to postpone the complaints until the end of the game
Leaving yourself more margin to win or tie (as happened) the match
To take a shot – even if desperate – 3 or more tenths of a second are enough

It's a Euroleague-style Tortona that is one shot away from victory against Partizan Belgrade

In the semifinal of the Preseason Tournament in Trapani
Walter De Raffaele's team doesn't give up a shot against the Serbian superpower
even coming back from -14 during the second half to take the game to overtime with a three-pointer with 3 tenths left on the clock by Weems and only seeing the masterpiece vanish on the very last shot of the match
with Zelimir Obradovic's men breathing a huge sigh of relief on Gorham's three-pointer that crashed on the rim on the overtime buzzer
after the basket that put the Slavs ahead with 22" to go by Brandon Davies
The great first half of the totem Kamagate (15 points and 4 offensive rebounds in the initial 20 minutes)
the rain of triples by Baldasso (6/13 from three at the end) in the fourth quarter to come back from 63-49 in the 26th
the tie at 82 with 1'20” left in regulation thanks to another important basket by Strautins
vital shortly after in conquering the offensive rebound and offering the ball to Weems for the triple that sent everyone to overtime
are just the iceberg of an excellent team performance that brought Bertram to a very close look at a historic success
Partizan Belgrade – Bertram Derthona 96-94 aet (16-11
“I have to say that on what I talked about during the presentation
that we had to respond adequately to the size
I had positive responses from the entire team
with an excellent defensive attitude and also the ability to come back from a double-digit deficit against a Euroleague team that can rotate many important players.
I think that asking for quality of execution and choices under pressure is a must at this time
but there are also extenuating circumstances due to the period of the season and this game gives us important ideas to know where to work
especially in the execution of some possessions that could have allowed us to bring home the game
this willingness to pass the ball is truly gold for us because we want to count on 12 players
we don't have stars but a system and this came out today
especially in a game in which we were missing an important player like Vital
there is a bit of disappointment for not having won
but on the other hand there were many good indications in the presence of a great team and its leader who certainly doesn't need my compliments"
A Treviso determined to close the salvation issue and archive a season well below expectations
not free from controversy between management and fans
pays the price of elimination from the cup
but cannot leave any points to try to stay in the loop of 8th place to guarantee access to the post-season
The Piedmontese seem to have their shooting wet and are too easily subjected to the speed of the changes in front of the home team
A thrilling final quarter with Tortona recovering 24 points (unthinkable partial score of 15-32) thanks to a spectacular Baldasso who
together with the very solid Vital and Denegri
A wasteful Treviso wins with a handful of seconds to go in full clutch time thanks to the invention and stubbornness of the only true leader on the banks of the Sile
also the author of an unsportsmanlike foul; then he remembers where he comes from and closes with 16 points and the bomb of the temporary overtaking of Tortona; great player
Chicken 6: decidedly subdued and lacking in creativity on an unusual evening for him
Gorham 5.5: Doesn't sting in attack and isn't exceptional in defense; sniper from the charity line (7/7)
especially in the defensive phase to contain the opposing ball carriers
a lot of substance; the coach could and should have used him more this season
he certainly deserves more space for the qualities he offers
Severini 6: applauded by the Palaverde; for him two bombs and a not exactly exciting match
perhaps due to the emotion of his return from ex
which is also the reason for his limited playing time
Billiards sv: too few minutes to be able to judge a player of his caliber
Weems 5: definitely out of phase; never gets into the game
and his absence is felt for too many minutes
Baldasso 8: someone shouts from the stands that "it's just his luck" ..
certainly aggressive and edgy on the field
on some occasions pardoned by the referees
But someone who puts 5 bombs in a row under the whistles of half the building and puts a team 24 points down back on track can only be a great player
One of those Italian talents that all need to be protected
Coach De Raffaele 5: the first half does not hit the right strategy to contain Treviso's firepower; the comeback is certainly more due to the quality of the roster than his tactical choices today
but the usual great determination at the ankles of the opposing playmakers
Talent to be developed calmly and with care
Masculine 5: had given hope in the series of winter victories
but unfortunately he confirms another inconsistent performance in the playmaking role; he holds the ball too much and tries too much to conclude alone and this does not help the offensive potential of the Run & Gun that Treviso could make the most of with its shooters
Deck 7: Surprise start in the starting-five
Tonight he chases away the ghosts he had been fighting for practically the entire season; he defends well and delivers a bomb worthy of applause
Midnight 6: decent test to manage the rotation of the tall players
Pilgrim 8.5: The “Falco” exalts in the cool Treviso evening; he plays as a true Pivot but with a touch of modernity
distributes assists and kills himself under the basket; gives two thrilling dunks; opened for the Palaverde a new practical roof renovation due to fallen tiles after the second attack on the iron
Well-deserved ovations for this working class hero
Olisevicius 8: Olisevicius's good cousin returns after injury; his head is clear
he imposes his game with charisma; 25 points with 80% from the field
The Baltic is definitely a man to start again from for the next season
it asserts cunning and physical strength against Kamagate's extra centimeters
but too concentrated in the few minutes that Vitucci leaves him; he deserves more space and a play that serves him properly when coming out of the blocks
the entire offensive dynamics of the game will have to be reviewed in order to capitalize on the potential of the Loco
Harrison in: There is nothing worse (sportingly speaking) to hear a player whistled by his fans as he entered the field
Perhaps the biggest gamble lost by Vitucci
A player of a higher rank when he was in adequate physical condition
but who knows how to be a leader and exalt everyone on the field if put in the right condition
Too bad for Treviso that in two years has not been able to integrate and exploit him properly
too bad for LBA basketball that has lost one of its best interpreters of recent years
Too bad for him because Treviso had given him the keys to the city hoping to find in him the leader for the change of pace
but he has not been able to adequately reciprocate
Bowman 9.5: he is not 10 because he goes out for 5 fouls
Without him Treviso probably would not be safe
An essential player in the economy of a team that
The Blackout Harrison has catalysed upon him the responsibilities of leader good Ky has always been ready to take the team on his shoulders in critical moments; it would be nice to see him back here next year too
a barrage of whistles at the beginning of the game
They say that the truth lies somewhere in the middle
Surely in the last games he was able to field a more competitive team (see Trapani)
it now seems like a marriage on the rocks that objectively has never worked
Too bad for the Venetian Coach who unfortunately failed to be a prophet in his own country
but nothing that could have affected the result
the first brand in Italy in the e-cigarette sector
will take center stage with an extraordinary event in the heart of the Tortona District
This event will be a unique opportunity to discover the world of KIWI
but also to immerse oneself in a sensory experience that blends art and technology
KIWI Vapor was founded in 2019 thanks to the vision of Vapour International
which launched the first KIWI Starter Kit on the market
the brand gained a solid position both in Italy and internationally
now distributed in 55 countries and over 45,000 points of sale
KIWI has continuously expanded its offerings
becoming a leader in the e-cigarette sector
always committed to ensuring the highest technological and safety standards
taking place in the vibrant setting of Design Week
is not only an opportunity to unveil the new KIWI GO+ Mini e-cigarette but also to explore concepts of design
and lightness through interactive art installations
The exhibition journey of KIWI Vapor revolves around three impactful art installations designed to engage the public in an immersive journey through art
Each installation explores themes that reflect the core features of the new KIWI GO+ Mini device
creating a narrative thread that connects the product to its user experience
transforms a completely white room into an explosion of fluorescent colors
A mysterious button labeled “Don’t press” invites visitors to interact with the environment
the room comes to life as the fluorescent colors light up
a clear reference to the powerful and consistent energy powering the KIWI GO+ Mini’s battery
The hidden energy expressed by the artist through light and color draws a clear parallel with the energy stored in each refillable Pod
uninterrupted experience—just like the KIWI GO+ Mini device
invites visitors to explore taste perception through a multisensory experience
the piece creates an infinite space of reflections
with mirrored walls that multiply perception
eight buttons represent the new KIWI Pod flavors
and each one activates a digital animation inspired by the artist’s iconic style
Each animation brings to life a vortex of colors that reflects the intensity and variety of KIWI Pod flavors
a neon sign reading "Savor the Flavor" floats among the reflections
creating a play of lights that celebrates the sensory experience of vaping
John Blond’s work not only explores the visual perception of taste but also its essence
making each puff of KIWI a unique and personalized experience
The installation plays with the concept of reflection
just as the KIWI GO+ Mini reflects the variety and quality of flavors
offering an experience that deeply stimulates the senses
Lost in Puff Paradise by Alvin transports visitors into a dreamlike world suspended among clouds
evoking the feeling of lightness delivered by every puff of the KIWI GO+ Mini
The installation is inspired by the 1000 Puffs the device can deliver
transforming the concept of lightness into a surreal environment
Alvin reinterprets his famous work "Sky is the Limit" by painting a melting heart on the wall
The color expands and blends with soft cloud-shaped cushions
creating a dreamy atmosphere where every movement becomes part of an escape experience
a neon sign reading "Lost in Puff Paradise" invites visitors to lose themselves in a world of freedom and lightness—just like the KIWI GO+ Mini enables one to escape daily routines
offering moments of pure pleasure with every puff
The art installations perfectly integrate the concepts of energy
which are also the central themes of the new KIWI GO+ Mini device
The inexhaustible energy powering each puff of this device is represented in Andy from Bluvertigo’s installation
while the lightness and euphoria of each vaping moment are explored in Alvin’s work
the flavor experience—a crucial aspect for vaping users—is celebrated in John Blond’s installation
which transforms taste into a unique visual and sensory experience
while being a standalone artistic experience
connects to the product through a common thread expressing the core values of KIWI
making the device not only a technological product but also a design object that stimulates the senses
KIWI Vapor’s event at Design Week is a unique opportunity to dive into a multisensory experience that explores how art
and design can come together to offer something truly innovative
with a lineup including artists such as Alvin
who will create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere
visitors will have the chance to enjoy an exclusive experience thanks to the collaboration with Santero
which will offer a curated drink experience to enrich the event’s atmosphere
Don’t miss the chance to discover the KIWI The +mini Experience from April 7 to 13 and explore how technology and art can merge to create an experience that not only surprises but also inspires
In one of the two advances of the 25th day of LBA, the Trapani Shark he also beat Tortona confirming itself at the top in the Serie A standings. The challenge ended on 91-101
with Repesa's team taking the win thanks to a great third quarter with the visitors leading 16-29
a fight broke out between Christian Vital and John Petrucelli which earned the Bertram player a one-match suspension
Let's analyze what happened then with the help of the ever-present Silvio Corrias
former Serie A referee present in our premium chat
View post on imgur.com
Baldasso's shot is just over a second away
Vital tries to rebound but hits Petrucelli
who cuts him off by almost turning his back
The ball ends up in Vital's hands - the final buzzer has just sounded - who throws it forcefully toward Petrucelli
Petrucelli comes back threateningly toward Vital
but the intervention of the referees and several "actors" of the match prevents the two from coming into contact
the game ends with handshakes and hugs and everyone in the locker rooms
Everything that happens must be reported in the referee's report
it will be up to the sports judge to take the necessary measures
Try to imagine this situation: the contact caused by Petrucelli (still 3 tenths of a second to go) reviewed with IRS (maybe a coach challenge for Act of Violence) is sanctioned as an unsportsmanlike foul
Vital sanctioned with a technical foul for throwing the ball at an opponent
Both sanctioned with a technical foul for the subsequent behavior and therefore removed from the field
All the substitutes and the staff of the two benches
who entered the field to separate the two: ejected
Since there was no physical contact aimed at hitting opponents
but only separation of teammates/opponents
the sanction for all these ejections is a technical foul to be charged to the coach and recorded in the scoresheet with "B"
Technical fouls will have to be compensated (recorded Tc) in chronological order
so the following would remain to be administered:
Since the free throw(s) of technical fouls must always be administered first
the game should have resumed with: 1 TL Trapani
Led by an extraordinary Pullen for numbers and efficiency
Giorgio Valli's team achieves the second consecutive home success and relaunches its salvation ambitions
9 of which were only useful to keep a thread of hope alive
The hosts reach +16 (60-44) when Pullen (28) and Green (20) put the arrow and Pangos finds a fundamental triple
then they manage the predictable response of the guests
soon on the bench with foul problems and rendered harmless for a long time
8,5: not only does he return to score 28 points
he also does it with far fewer shots attempted
a game of efficiency and leadership and words of a man who has definitively taken control of the team
6: difficult night shooting (0/3 from the perimeter) compensated with great defensive work on Kamagate and a lot of energy on the rebound
6: he never shows up in the offensive phase but runs like Usain Bolt in all the close outs he is called upon to do
despite a dull evening from the point of view of the numbers
7: Coach Valli starts him in the quintet and
involving his teammates who respond present
6: he earns a passing grade in his own half of the pitch
providing a lot of energy and fouling vital balls
between the first two quarters he offers flashes of absolute ballistic and entry talent
the corner becomes his territory and he finds an important triple also in the second half
activates the attack with 9 points at the start
then appears when needed; essentially poetry
6,5: he struggles incredibly against Kamagate and it shows
Valli keeps him on the field for the bare minimum
he scores 8 consecutive points that give the go-ahead to the new Neapolitan extension
putting his own statistics in the background
7,5: he reads the game impeccably and designs a plan that works perfectly
The Bentil-Zubcic duo sends Kamagate out of gear and allows the defense to focus on the perimeter
Totè is sent in when he can assert his qualities without opposition
De Nicolao in the quintet is a particularly spot-on intuition
then Vital's friendly fire forces him to sit on the bench
the PalaBarbuto gives him a long round of applause for his time in Naples
6,5: He deserves more but he wakes up too late and the oxen have escaped
5,5: score from distance lillardian and pushes the reconnection in the second period
fades in the second half under the opponent's pressure
5,5: a few scraps of the match that he wets with the triple
but also with the suggestion not to repeat it for longer
his triple front lights the last glimmer of hope
5: He quickly gets loaded with fouls and leaves the game
in the second half he lights up from the perimeter and hits the net several times
but instead he ended up getting caught up in the opponent's net
charging himself with fouls and fading away as the minutes passed
4,5: impalpable for long stretches of the game
he only finds a triple at the beginning of the fourth quarter
too little for someone who wore the national team jersey
he is more noticeable for some hints of nervousness on which the trio was lenient
5: falls into Valli's trap and does not resort to Biligha
Gorham's absence is felt but is not a sufficient mitigating factor for the colorless performance of his team and the lost confrontation with the opposing coach
BERTRAM TORTONA-EA7 EMPORIO ARMANI MILAN 68-85 (16-22; 36-41; 47-64)

First European commitment for Bertram Derthona which makes the Juventus fans suffer a lot
The reigning champions of the Fiba Europe Cup
they arrive in Casale with a great desire to win and a lot of physicality that will put De Raffaele's boys in great difficulty
The game remained balanced until the fourth quarter
when Bertram extended its lead over the Germans to a margin of +13 points
Tortona is at risk in the final part of the match due to a defense that is not up to the task
but they still manage to manage the Germans' attempt to come back
allowing Tortona won the first European match of the season with a score of 87-81
Vital 7: gives a huge hand to the team especially in the moments of greatest difficulty
fundamental despite the not excellent percentages
Chicken 9: at times you wonder why he plays for Derthona and not in the Euroleague
an uncommon quality makes him stand out above all others today
against a physically strong team he struggles a lot
Strautins 8,5: One of the best matches of the Lithuanian since he has been in Tortona
he makes very few mistakes and plays with incredible determination
Baldasso 5: poor shooting accuracy and little commitment in defense
Kamagate 8: without him the defense would have collapsed and that's exactly what happened when he was on the bench
14 points 9 rebounds and a whopping 5 blocks are not the stats of an ordinary player
Biligha 5,5: he often struggles despite some good plays
Severini 5,5: he takes little responsibility and maybe it's better this way
he gives a hand in all respects and he makes himself available to the team without taking unnecessary shots
He makes the decisive block that allows to close the game
Team practically completed at the end of June for Tortona
which led a market in which it focused on several interesting names which will be making their debut in Italy
The first of these to sign the contract with Bertram was Tommy Kuhse
84kg point guard arriving from Rasta Vechta in Germany
Born in 1998 with only two years of pro basketball under his belt
This last season in Germany was the one in which he revealed himself in a thunderous manner: 18.8 points

after an initial part of the season spent mainly in Austin in the G-League
showing only flashes of his talent and remaining on the pitch for just over fifteen minutes per game
He arrives with the task of being the director of De Raffaele's team
Which he has shown he can do excellently in the Bundesliga
ability to read the game and valuable scoring skills
With Christian Vital he will form one of the most interesting backcourts in the championship
They took place today quarter-final draws di Basketball Champions League
which saw among the participants Bertram Dertthona Tortona and UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia
The urn was not exactly benevolent for our two standard-bearers
who will face off in a double challenge Italy – Spain
The draw pitted Bertram Derthona Tortona and UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia against two top-level teams
the two Italian teams were paired against a Spanish team
the two Spanish teams were the finalists of the last edition
These finals will be best of three games and both Italian teams will start with the disadvantage of the home field advantage
Which means that a blitz on Iberian soil will be needed to reach the semifinals
Bertram Derthona Tortona will face La Laguna Tenrife
while UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia will face Unicaja Malaga
and will see both Italian teams playing away
This is the complete picture of the quarter-finals:
At the same time as the draw for the quarter-finals
the pairings for the semi-finals were also defined
The four teams advancing from the quarterfinals will meet in the Final Four on the weekend of May 9-11
there are several Lead Changes; the black and whites conclude the first 20' with a slight advantage (+8)
From the beginning of the 3rd quarter a change in intensity is immediately noticeable
Würzburg manages to recover the 8 points of disadvantage in just 6 minutes
on the other side Bertram redeems itself in the following 4 minutes recovering the partial lost
It was only after an intense final match that Bertram took home a ticket to the quarter-finals; Würzburg did not give up until the decisive layup by Paul Biligha, who closed the match giving Tortona a historic qualification. 80-74 It's the score at the end of the game
ALLIANZ TORTONA: Cissè 6, Brizzi 12, Lisini 2, Aprile 8, Farias, Albertinazzi 5, Fogliato 4, Korlatovic 8, Diodato 9, Bellinaso 3, Di Meo 8, Josovic 15. Today at 20pm we will challenge the winner of the match between Trento and Bergamo played yesterday evening.
In the construction of a very interesting roster
Bertram Tortona filled the starting 4 box with Justin Gorham
returning from an excellent season at Lietuvos Rytas
culminating in winning the Lithuanian title in the final against Zalgiris
A post shared by 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗮 (@derthonabasket)
203 centimeters by 100 kilograms, Gorham he is the classic prototype of an athletic power forward
capable of opening the field with three-point shots (3.2 attempts per game converted at 34%) and running on the counterattack effectively
after two seasons spent in Bonn (2021/2022) and toHapoel Galil Gilboa (2022/2023)
before moving to Lithuania during the current year where he also had the opportunity to compete in the Champions League
As an identikit he seems to be able to marry well with his future teammate
a long player with a strictly internal game
who will certainly benefit from the spaces that Gorham with his characteristics will be able to open up for him
he is ready to make the passes pay for the attention that the French center can attract to the opposing defenses
Twenty-sixth day in Sassari at the Palaserradimigni that hosts a combative Tortona looking for fundamental points for the playoffs
are mathematically safe and could think of catching the first eight
which instead sees the “train” of the top eight slip away
Cappelletti 7: as always he is the “mind” of Sassari
Bibbins 7.5: great game in attack with 19 points and 7 fouls suffered
Decisive in the important moments of the game
Weber 7.5: probably his best game since he arrived in Sardinia
His infinite energy is needed to score the last
He almost scores a double double with 17 points and 9 rebounds
Fobbs 7: excellent performance on both halves of the court: 19 points and a great defensive presence
Tambone 6+: as usual he is a central part of the Sardinian defense
in attack he does not take on many responsibilities
Veronese 6: He argues with his shooting percentages
Bendzius 6.5: In terms of percentages he doesn't shine
he struggles to find the right rhythm and misses many shots
but with a desire and intensity worthy of note
Vital 7.5: he is the best of his team: one of the last to give up and when Sassari extends
but with percentages that are not perfect (8/20 overall)
Chicken 6-: struggles a lot to handle the pressure of the "small" opponents and the 5 lost balls are proof of this
but struggles a lot against the Sardinian defense
In defense he fails to limit the various Bibbins and Weber
Candi 5+: tonight he is unable to express himself at his best both in attack and defense
He is limited by fouls (4) and plays just under 20'
Baldassarre 6+: in the second quarter he is the protagonist of Tortona's comeback scoring six points in a row
and then gradually fades away over the course of the match
Kamagate 5: despite having a clear advantage over the Sardinian tall players
he suffers from the physicality and intensity of his opponents throughout the match without being able to stand out as he should have
Severini 5.5: It's not his best game of the season either
He doesn't find much space and struggles to express himself except for a few flashes in attack here and there
Weems 5: performance that the Bertram veteran will surely not remember pleasantly
He fails to leave his mark on the game in any way

In four seasons of presence of Bertram in Serie A it has become a great classic of the top championship
at 19:30 at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris in Casale Monferrato the 22nd challenge in history will take place against Virtus Segafredo Bologna
valid for the 19th day of the Serie A Unipol
but some of Derthona's victories have had a significant specific weight
such as in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia 2022 in the absolute rookie year of the Leoni or the two home victories in the playoff series of last season that scared the then number 1 seed on the grid taking it to the decisive game-5
Even in the first leg at the beginning of November in Bologna
the men coached by Walter De Raffaele tried to make their voices heard
having the chance of the overtaking shot with less than ten seconds to go after a great comeback
only to then surrender 85-81 to the current third force in the tournament
Virtus has a 6-point advantage in the standings over Tortona
called first of all to strengthen its eighth place that is worth the playoffs with the 4-point margin over the ninth occupied in tandem by Treviso and Venezia
both of whom will face at home in the return match
FIELD FACTOR With the help of over three thousand home fans announced
the Bianconeri from Tortona want to interrupt the streak of 4 defeats between the championship and the Champions League
challenges in which even luck has turned its back on them with a series of point-to-point finals that have rewarded their opponents and with the knee injury that has sidelined Arturs Strautins for the rest of the season
a starter with 11 points and 5 rebounds in 22 minutes on average in the championship
The response that his teammates gave in the midweek Champions League challenge on the field of AEK Athens
lost in the final minute after a long balance
gives encouraging signs of the team's resistance for the challenge against Virtus and for Turin's imminent adventure in the Final Eight of the Coppa Italia
which will be inaugurated precisely from Tortona with the quarter-final next Wednesday at 18 pm against Brescia
with the winner awaited in the semifinal by one between Olimpia Milano and Virtus Bologna
BOLOGNA The Emilians of the new coach Dusko Ivanovic
who took over from Luca Banchi in December
characterized by the double home round of the Euroleague against Partizan Belgrade and Paris Basketball
In the last one against the French on Friday night there was the debut of the newcomer Justin Holiday
a veteran born in '89 with 700 NBA games under his belt
who temporarily took the place of the injured Will Clyburn
who will be absent tomorrow along with the Croatian center Ante Zizic
STATEMENTS “Virtus certainly needs no introduction
"I can't say the similarities and differences between the version with Banchi and the one with Ivanovic
as a basic system I think it has remained more or less the same
Shengelia remains the beacon and an untouchable champion
now there is the arrival of Justin Holiday
for us it will be important to impact in terms of energy
having the stimulus of having great champions in front of us
Without Strautins we lose an Italian player from the starting five
everyone's contribution will be needed and above all everyone is called to a sense of responsibility
mental and technical presence of each player in the squad
The moment is difficult in terms of results but not in terms of performance or competitiveness
Of course the group lives this period with great displeasure and desire to rebel
in a very difficult calendar both in the cup
where high-level matches are always played”

which can be transferred in terms of absolute and relative usefulness from Poland to Italy: first of all
and expresses leadership – fundamental aspect especially for the WDR defensive system
you can see how the prototype players are very similar
but of a significantly higher overall quality
is the one linked to minutes: a rotation of 5 guards
each with full citizenship in medium-high LBA (Kuhse-Candi-Vital-Baldasso-Denegri)
will keep intact the use that Vital has always recorded in his career (in Poland
there were more matches over 30′ than those between 20′ and 30′ on the parquet)
a partial return to Christian Vital “luxury specialist”
as could have been hypothesized upon leaving UConn
it is an intriguing prospect for Walter De Raffaele and Bertram Yachts Tortona
they find a Tortona poorly organized who initially makes some naive mistakes
the Bianconeri begin to better manage their possessions
looking for (and obtaining) well-constructed shots
we witness a match fromvery high intensity
mistakes and great plays are found on both sides
but the one to come out ahead after the first 20' is Bertram
The 2nd half follows the intensity that characterized the first
some events particularly heat up the spirits of the public and the players
Trapani is good at seize the moment with coolness
thus manages to build a good lead to take into the last 10 minutes of the game
The Granata managed to remain consistent even in the last quarter where, despite Tortona's valid attempts, they found victory for 91-101
Il Derthona Tortona faces the 2024-25 season with the aim of confirming itself at high levels and making even further progress in the playoffs
Let's see which roster he will try to do it with
Zerini 6,5: manages the defense of his own basket more than adequately
Boglio 6-: he enters when the match is already decided
Bertram wants the last available place for reach the Final Eight
Scafati on the other side fights for every victory that can distance it from the relegation zone
Throughout the first half the two teams they are equivalent
neither of them gave the other room to create significant partial advantages
thus bringing the score at half time to 47-50 in favor of the visiting team
The balance persists until Scafati manages to close the third quarter at +10
Bertram does not give up, the PalaFerraris and the players themselves warm up and try to reduce the disadvantage, until they reach parity at 91-91 with 1:53 left.MVP Vital score one sensational triple which gives a lead of +3 with 20 seconds to go, 13 seconds decides to do it again giving Bertram a spot in the Final Eight. It ends 99-94
