Marie-Claire Daveu commented: “Sustainability has been at the core of Kering’s strategy and roadmap for years. Obtaining this prestigious LEED certification is another testimony of how we act to adopt sustainability best practices at every stage of our processes, from the design of a product to its delivery. I am proud of this recognition, and I would like to thank all of those who have worked hard to make our Trecate hub an example of highly sustainable building in Italy”. “These Platinum LEED certifications – declared [Benita Schneider, Head of Real Estate Asset Management Europe of DWS] – are further confirmation of our ESG focus and investment strategy towards high-level assets with environmental and sustainable features. Our Italian logistics portfolio is strategically important, and we are proud of these two new certifications given our ongoing focus on ESG criteria”. Obtaining two LEED-Platinum certifications - said Kay Killmann - represent only the beginning of the logistic hub’s sustainable journey at the Trecate location. Additional Platinum LEED certification for three office buildings is currently under review and aim for completion by the end of the year. This will include WELL certification, a protocol focusing on enhancing employees’ comfort and working conditions. The global logistic hub is equipped with the second biggest solar rooftop in Europe, with a capacity of 12.7 MWp, which exceeds by far the energy needs of the entire site. On top of the photovoltaic roof, the site has reached the highest degrees of LEED certifications thanks to a sophisticated reduced water consumption system, allowing a 50% reduction in water usage. The site is surrounded by 10 hectares of outdoor green spaces. A plan for promoting the biodiversity of the spaces, together with carbon sequestration through nature-based solutions and promoting the development of autochthonous arboreal vegetation, is currently in progress. The creation of sport and recreational facilities for the employees is also under way. Positive swabs were found after increased mortality occurred. The overview shared by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) mentioned a total number of 28 pigs that had died Positive swabs were carried out on 2 dead sows The 4th outbreak was also found in Pavia province The 5th outbreak began on 29 July and occurred near the town of Vernate where the infection was also detected on 24 July This was a relatively small farm which noted an increase in mortality in Emilia-Romagna region in the province of Piacenza This farm also noticed an increase in mortality and symptoms attributable to ASF in some animals now 23 farms have reported an infection with African Swine Fever virus ever since the virus reached Italy’s wild boar population in 2021 genotype I has been endemic on the island of Sardinia for decades Sign-in to our platforms to access our extensive research data and analytics and to connect to our industry experts Further divestments from the Majors are possible Alan is responsible for formulating our research outlook and cross-sector perspectives on the global downstream sector ExxonMobil’s recent announcement of the sale of its Italian and Thai assets is the latest in a series of divestment moves by the oil Majors But how much more rationalisation is likely Our report ExxonMobil exits Italy and Thailand: why assesses the reasons for ExxonMobil’s decision and looks at the potential for further consolidation by the industry’s key players Fill out the form to access the full insight ExxonMobil has sold all its Italian fuel and refining assets to private Italian fuel and mobility group IP The deal is due to close in mid-2023 and hands IP full ownership of the 134,000 barrel-per-day Trecate refinery (it already owned 25%) ExxonMobil has also agreed to dispose of its 65.99% interest in Esso Thailand That deal should go through in the second half of 2023 along with a network of 700 Esso-branded retail/service stations continue to supply both markets with branded finished lubricants and chemical products Trecate doesn’t align with the company’s strategic focus on petrochemicals and lubricants. Oil & Gas' PII Pipeline Solutions business has presented recognition awards to two of its valued customers following their pioneering use of MagneScan™ the next generation of MFL (magnetic flux leakage) pipeline inspection technology Exxon Mobil's Affiliate Refinery and Pipelines Company in Italy were recognized for projects successfully completed in the first quarter of 2009 Representatives of SARPOM received the GE award in Cramlington while Jayhawk was presented with the award at GE's Biannual North American Pipeline Conference in Austin The SARPOM inspection in Italy was from Trecate to Malpensa Intercontinental Airport (Northwest region) on a 6-inch diameter jet-fuel pipeline The scope of work implemented by GE was to detect corrosion as well as mapping coordinates acquisition The inspection was successfully completed in just four hours and 45 minutes with the expert field support of TECMA Pipeline Services Sarpom operates a network of 720 miles of liquid pipelines in Italy Pipeline Integrity Supervisor for SARPOM Italia said: "'To inspect this seamless steel pipeline we had three priorities: we needed the combination of three tools in one to reduce disruption to our operation; we also needed a very short arrangement of the system due to space restriction at the airport and we wanted better corrosion assessment than was offered by previously available technology We also had been waiting for a credible 6-inch mapping capability.'' The first new MagneScan inspection project in North America was performed for the National Cooperative Refinery Association (NCRA) in the state of Kansas and consisted of four sections of 6-inch products pipeline NCRA operates an 85,000-barrel-per-day refinery refined-products pipeline that runs from the refinery to Council Bluffs transports approximately 125,000 barrels per day of crude oil through 800 miles of pipeline transports approximately 30,000 barrels per day of crude oil through 250 miles of pipeline Pipeline Engineer at Jayhawk Pipeline said: "The four and each run was completed in less than 24 hours in standard configuration One of our requirements was related to the product speed inside the line making the run time at the upper specification of the battery life of the tool an excellent testing ground for this new technology." "We are very proud to have such strong partnerships with pipeline operators worldwide who trust GE to deliver leading-edge technology to secure the safe and productive future of their asset less operational disruption and reduced impact on the environment for cost-efficient compliance," said John Bucci General Manager of GE Oil & Gas' PII Pipeline Solutions Launched at the International Pipeline Conference in Calgary in September 2008 the new MagneScan inspection tool simultaneously maps the pipeline and checks it for corrosion using high resolution MFL sensors that deliver high-quality data to identify and locate metal loss and is suitable for GIS (geographic information systems) analysis Mapping data is integrated with inspection information during the run reducing the amount of post-processing required GE Oil & Gas (www.ge.com/oilandgas) is a world leader in advanced technology equipment and services for all segments of the oil and gas industry pipelines and storage to industrial power generation We also provide pipeline integrity solutions As part of our 'Innovation Now' customer focus and commitment GE Oil & Gas leverages technological innovation from other GE businesses to continuously improve oil and gas industry performance and productivity GE Oil & Gas employs more than 12,000 people worldwide and operates in over 70 countries GE is a diversified global infrastructure, finance and media company that is built to meet essential world needs. returns as “The Alliance” even though this is not a registered party and the four Alliance candidates maintained their independence although Alva Suckoo and Vincent Frederick took some time to declare their decision to run on the Alliance ticket they have not provided their own independent financial details The Alliance recorded CI$27,000 as a donation from Austin Harris but there are no further indications as to what other contributions were received from Alliance candidates who were not PPM members The reporting of Harris’ money as a donation to the Alliance obscures the source of the funds and how it found its way into the PPM party coffers remains in the opposition camp but has resisted officially joining the party his expenditure and donations have been consolidated into “The Alliance” declaration In addition, there is no mention in the PPM/Alliance declaration of the donations, in both cash and services, which, according to public statements by Alden McLaughlin at an opposition press briefing the party had given to other candidates during the campaign that are now in the PACT Government The observers confirmed that it was not part of their remit to examine the returns after the elections but Roberts noted that there were questions surrounding the issue of party submissions “We did not have the time or resources to look into that,” he said though they had seen the summary of the finances Roberts said the report looks at the different political forces at work and the idea of teams versus parties and what defines them but the Elections Act does not provide a framework for how parties are registered The observers found there was “a general appetite for improvement in several aspects of political life” Suggestions on how to modernize the system include forming an independent political commission that could adjudicate on disputes and set guidelines for elections in the grey areas not covered by the law The mission also highlighted the secrecy of the ballot box as an important issue that should be addressed having a serial number on both a counterfoil and the ballot presents an opportunity for secrecy to be compromised though they said they have no reason to believe that it was used by anyone to observe someone’s vote But as the numbers are in red ink and have only four digits beginning with a zero Roberts said that removing them would be a “positive step” added that the secrecy of the ballot is critical but if someone wanted to they could trace a voter to a specific ballot under the current system “We never actually saw this; it is a theoretical concept but it is certainly possible,” he said The observers were told that the reason for this is to enable verification that an elector’s vote has been cast and counted but they felt it was a small benefit compared to the risk that voter secrecy could be compromised While the observers have no power to impose or direct anything Roberts said he hoped that Parliament would give consideration to their report no government has acted on any of the recommendations put forward by the observer missions following the 2017 and 2013 elections when the CPA began sending people to watch and offer advice on how to improve democracy The governor also said it was up to the elected members to decide what they do with the mission’s report “We have a strong reputation in the Cayman Islands for holding free and fair elections and I am delighted that this one was no different,” Governor Martyn Roper stated when he received the report He said that in June the CPA virtual mission will produce their report “It will be for the government and Parliament to consider how they plan to take forward both sets of recommendations,” Roper added See the full report in the CNS Library and watch the press conference on CIGTV below: Tags: , , Category: 2021 General Elections, Elections, Politics Trackback URL | Comments RSS Feed After reading the Domestic Election Observers Report and Recommendations I advocate that the authorities consider strengthening the Elections Office by making it an Electoral Commission with investigative and prosecutorial powers or alternatively establish an Office of the Political Ombudsman with the same investigative and prosecutorial powers Some of the practices outlined in the Observer’s Report bear the hallmarks of behaviour tinctured with questionable if not corrupt practice Now is the ideal time to strengthen the regime and to ensure that the jurisdiction’s reputation for scrupulously free and fair elections remain unchallenged The amendments needed are numerous and long ovetdue However those recommended by the Supervisors past and present will never be implemented as long as MP’s have to vote on them The Elections law needs to be removed from their remit Some one could have erased all the ballots & changed the candidate selection Can we please just have a national vote so that every Caymanian voter can have a say in who gets elected The report is a sham and merely a tick the box exercise to cover the Governor’s behind The report and recommendations do not reflect the reality of the political process in the Caymans The campaign financial returns including expenditures and financing of campaigns have been excluded from the report demonstrates this is all a big sham to pretend everything is fine and dandy down here The pretense that everything is fine is precisely why these islands are doomed because no one in authority can afford for the public to know the truth Protecting the lies is the soup du jour of the Caymans This place is a banana republic without the bananas It’s almost like legitimate criticisms (such as the observation about shadow alliances) are being glossed over Austin Harris has $27k free to donate to the PPM The highly successful Austin Harris whose employment experience prior to being an MLA was as the director of an entity XXXXX and then as a talk show host Or is there some other multi millionaire Harris that I didn’t know about who is apparently willing to donate to a political party he is not even a member off Meantime if I try and deposit $10k into my bank account my bank wants a full account explanation as to the source of funds CNS you XXXd my comment about XXXX – its a matter of public record you know it sounds probable but I couldn’t find anything online and don’t remember it A individual voter can be traced to the vote they cast That’s the whole concept of the anonymity of the voting process out the window That’s basics guys – how come no one has noticed this before You want to able to register whether a voter has used their vote you cross them off the electoral list when you issue them the ballot paper It’s hard enough as it is to get Caymanians to register to vote or participate – now you are telling them that someone can work out who they voted for It’s theoretically possible but no one has direct access to the various pieces Highly improbable for someone to take the time and piece together the info Now what they did before the election was pretty important They mixed the postal and mobile votes with the regular votes for the count If an electoral district had 1 mobile voter and 3 candidates there is no way of keeping that result anonymous Simple solution would be randomising the ballot counterfoil numbers No way then to hypothetically back-count someone’s vote You are checked as a voter before you vote (necessary) and that each vote is counted can be checked (appropriate) but there is a disconnect inserted between the two processes Without the expense of moving to electronic voting Comment * document.getElementById("comment").setAttribute( "id" "a995e74e7b3d11e0d393e84096afdd8c"
