Udinese put a dent in Cagliari’s confidence and hopes of securing top flight status with a bizarre goal Thomas Kristensen scored with his belly
The Sardinians were ready to celebrate after their 2-0 victory away to Verona all but guaranteed Serie A safety, though Yerry Mina was still out of action. The Friulani ended their run of five consecutive defeats by holding Bologna 0-0
but Kingsley Ehizibue and Martin Payero sat out bans
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.
Roberto Piccoli had a big chance when running onto the Zito Luvumbo dinked assist over the top
his angled drive skimming the base of the far post
Udinese took the lead moments later when Sebastiano Luperto failed to cut out a ball down the right
so Rui Modesto pulled back from the by-line for Oier Zarraga to sweep in from eight yards
Cagliari replied when Antoine Makoumbou floated a great ball over the top
which Nadir Zortea controlled with one touch
sweeping into the far bottom corner with his left foot on the second
Keinan Davis stung Elia Caprile’s gloves from the tightest of angles and Sandi Lovric couldn’t keep his effort down on a Davis lay-off
Udinese restored their advantage in unusual fashion
as a Hassane Kamara corner kick took a series of tiny deflections off Davis and Oumar Solet until Thomas Kristensen bundled it over the line at the back post using his belly
Jose Luis Palomino just failed to connect with the Mattia Felici cross
then Piccoli wasted a counter-attack firing over when sent through by Alessandro Deiola after a Gianluca Gaetano back-heel flick
It is Udinese’s first Serie A victory in over two months

Carter is a 45-kilogram German Shepherd and only a year old
He can sprint for an hour and match the speed of Zemura’s scooter
are typical of a day off in Udine and how life has changed over the past two years
Zemura has integrated into the Italian culture
He is far removed from his family home in Kent or the quiet suburbs of Bournemouth
which he left in the summer of 2023 to join Udinese
The city of Udine has a different way of life
with coffee and wine drinkers populating the stoney streets late into the night
“I don’t have a girlfriend so it wasn’t like I was going to have a child any time soon
Carter has given me company and responsibility
He has made me grow up because moving from my comfort zone to a new country was going to require that.”
He was living on his own in a three-bedroom city centre apartment yet felt stuck with his own thoughts
I was with my own thoughts and decisions and I spent a lot of time thinking about training or performances in games
Zemura’s time at Bournemouth ended acrimoniously
Against the backdrop of faltering contract negotiations
the left-back was made to train with the under-21s
Reasons behind the failure to agree to a deal were complex and based on Zemura being an academy graduate who
despite being instrumental in their promotion-winning Championship campaign of 2021-22
was still on his first professional contract
Zemura had been picked up by Bournemouth following his release from Charlton Athletic in 2019
His acceleration into the first team was unexpected and a consequence of making use of opportunity
when Bournemouth were entering a period of transition
incoming manager Scott Parker was without a senior left-back
Zemura forged an exhilarating partnership on the left flank with his best friend Jaidon Anthony
underlaps and an athleticism few could match
Zemura made his Premier League debut at 22 and while Bournemouth retreated
to a less free-wheeling style which was not inclined to his attacking surges
the full-back registered 19 top-flight appearances
had game time not been scuppered by the contract issues
“The club had to do what was right for themselves and I had to put myself first,” Zemura says
“But it was never easy because I was playing all the games
fans sang my name and I was living my dream
I respect them and they are smashing it right now.”
Moving into the free agency market was unforeseen and as surprising as his eventual destination would be
Zemura carried an attractive profile; he was 23
experienced and possessed qualities that chimed with a modern-day full-back
“I first had the idea of moving abroad when I knew it wasn’t gonna happen with me at Bournemouth,” he says
‘How do I grow and not be seen as a young player who came through the English academy system?’ I wanted to distance myself from that bracket
This move was about enjoying football as much as I can before it finishes
I can be forever proud for taking that leap of faith.”
A British-born player migrating to Serie A has been a well-trodden path of late. Italy has welcomed a flurry of Scottish imports
tending to be impressed by the professionalism and knowing they often came at a lower cost
The Scots thriving in Italy: 'Everyone was surprised I actually had good technique'
but a Zimbabwe international through his family
Free agency meant Udinese viewed his signing as financially viable and background character checks returned favourably
Zemura wanted to challenge himself away from insular surroundings
not only in a football sense but embracing a lifestyle abnormal to him
Living in Italy provided greater maturity and
would help become a more well-rounded left-back
with defensively specific work complementing his marauding style
though I’m proud of myself for coming through adversity,” he says
I wasn’t playing much and kept thinking ‘Oh
was this the right decision?’ But then I just kept my head down and things fell into place.”
Zemura started 10 league matches in his debut season
yet was made increasingly difficult by Udinese’s flux
In their 29th successive season in Serie A
they staved off relegation by two points after three different head coaches
including World Cup-winning captain Fabio Cannavaro
“I found training tough at the start,” the 25-year-old says
“We had an interpreter and the previous coach (Gabriele Cioffi) was an Italian speaker
so I would always be standing next to the interpreter just to make sure I didn’t make a mistake in knowing what he wanted to do
“Udinese said to me: ‘When you do interviews
So I’ve been doing lessons for over a year with two different tutors
I’ve got a few other team-mates from non-Italian countries and we are in groups learning.”
Early turbulent waters have steadied on the pitch with Udinese mid-table and Zemura starting five of the last seven league matches. He was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Atalanta
“If you think football is just going to be smooth and you play 38 games a season and nothing bad happens
On-field improvements have translated into his life away from football
Zemura has moved and now lives in a more serene
“You see the water on the streets and even in Udine
it’s very peaceful and I love the simplicity of it
I see everyone having a glass of wine to finish their day.”
He explains how increased precision has been the key area of refinement
having recognised opportunities to venture into dangerous crossing positions are far rarer
“The Premier League is way more transitional,” he says
how you work the 10-v-10 on the pitch and how you can include your goalkeeper as an extra player to give you the advantage
You’re waiting for the opposition mistake to capitalise
“You have to be precise in the final action because there are few goalscoring moments
I have to be decisive in my timings of movement and the final cross
It’s not the same connections as at Bournemouth
where I would have a winger and the left No 10 in front
I’m now the furthest forward and it’s mostly wing-back vs wing-back because you are playing against another back five
“I played against Roma and directly against Paulo Dybala and thought
He wasn’t rapid but his mind was five steps ahead of everyone else
The ball was never out of his reach — he was unreal.”
He has always shared an enthusiasm for education
making the challenge of learning another language less daunting
He studied sport science and physical education at Canterbury Christ Church University and remained interested in English and history
“I did a year there and passed,” Zemura says
“I would have training and travel from London to Canterbury and would turn up at the back of the class.”
Zemura was once considered for a scholarship that would have led him to one of the eminent universities in the United Kingdom
Everyone asks me if I knew I was going to be a pro footballer
I was 22 and had played 50-plus games at Bournemouth but when my contract was coming to an end
I’m good with words and want to release a book when I’m older
History is fascinating because so much has happened before us
I often think about the Great Fire of London in 1666
but I have always known specific dates because I loved reading about them.”
Zemura ends the interview by asking The Athletic his own questions
They range from this writer’s experience of playing football and
to journalism and various forms of writing
While some of his aspirations post-football are being mapped out
Zemura hopes to return to the Premier League one day
“But joining Udinese in the first place was probably the best decision I’ve ever made.”

MN: Predicted XI for Inter-Milan – Back to Udine for Conceicao | OneFootballSempreMilan
AC Milan will revert to the team that smashed Udinese
with Sergio Conceicao looking for his second trophy
The win in Udine was probably Milan’s best all season
simply due to the fact that the team displayed everything it needed to
quality and excitement were the big three takeaways from that game
So, it seems Sergio Conceicao will revert to that team against Inter tomorrow, according to Milan News
As the report suggests, Mike Maignan will start in goal, and for the third game in a row, Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic are the expected defensive trio – though reports suggest Malick Thiaw could start
Though the wing-backs are expected to be more defensive in this system than they were in Udine
Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic are seemingly given options
with Conceicao refusing to overlook the pair
Tammy Abraham is expected to start currently

Matera’s suspension means he will miss Argentina’s next test match
Los Pumas face Italy in Udine on November 09
That match will be the second of two wherein he serves out his suspension
The 31-year-old Matera will be able to play for Argentina against Ireland on November 15 in Dublin and against France on November 22 in Paris. He debuted against Chile in 2013 and presently has 107 test caps

Period samurai drama to open theatrically in 2025
Milan were almost perfect in an eventual 4-0 win away against Udinese in Serie A on Friday night
despite a worrying head injury to goalkeeper Mike Maignan
Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders made for an entertaining evening at the Bluenergy Stadium
Milan were without right-backs Kyle Walker and Emerson Royal
which led to a switch in formation from a 4-2-3-1 to a 3-4-3 with Fikayo Tomori
Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic across the back
and Luka Jovic was preferred to Tammy Abraham
You can see how it unfolded on the Football Italia Liveblog.
ITALY – APRIL 11: Rafael Leao of AC Milan celebrates after scoring the opening goal during the Serie A match between Udinese and AC Milan at Stadio Friuli on April 11
(Photo by Alessandro Sabattini/Getty Images)Milan had an immediate chance to get ahead straight from kick-off
as a long ball over the top caused confusion between Thomas Kristensen and Jaka Bijol
where Maduka Odoye stopped him from 10 yards out
Mike Maignan also tried the route-one approach in the early stages and found Rafael Leao with a perfectly-placed 90-yard pass
but the Portugal international was unable to apply the finishing touches
While Udinese had a couple of half-chances midway through the half-way stage
it was Milan who went in for the break with a two-goal advantage
Leao claimed the first with a wonderful first-time finish from a central position on the edge of the area
bending an effort away from him and into the far corner with his right foot after a good bit of work and lay-off from Youssouf Fofana
The Rossoneri advantage would be doubled less than three minutes later
as Pavlovic rose highest in the area to get a head on Christian Pulisic’s corner
which might have gone in off the shoulder of Oumar Solet moments before the half-time break
The second half got off to a troubling start when Mike Maignan came out and tried to clear a tricky ball with a header outside of his area, but collided heads with Alex Jimenez and briefly lost consciousness.
The whistle went immediately, even though Udinese were through on an open goal, and the Frenchman was stretchered off. He was conscious by the time he made it into the tunnel.
UDINE, ITALY – APRIL 11: Mike Maignan of AC Milan injured during the Serie A match between Udinese and AC Milan at Stadio Friuli on April 11, 2025 in Udine, Italy. (Photo by Alessandro Sabattini/Getty Images)Jimenez was later replaced on the 75th minute, just shy of 20 minutes after the incident. It was surprising that he had been allowed to continue in the first place. He left after a signal from Tomori that he needed to come off, and walked off in a visible daze.
Still, Milan were not distracted, and seeled their victory shortly afterwards with a wonderful Theo Hernandez goal.
The Frenchman was involved in a one-touch passing move on the halfway line, and was freed by an Abraham flick, which sent him through on goal with all the time in the world to pick his spot. He fired in at the near post for 0-3.
UDINE, ITALY – APRIL 11: Theo Hernández of AC Milan celebrates after scoring his team’s third goal during the Serie A match between Udinese and AC Milan at Stadio Friuli on April 11, 2025 in Udine, Italy. (Photo by Alessandro Sabattini/Getty Images)It only got better from there, as another slick Rossoneri counter attack saw Rafael Leao chip Okoye and Reijnders poke it home on the goalline in what was the Dutchman’s 10th goal of the season.
Christian Pulisic thought he had made it five for Milan with a few minutes to go, but Tammy Abraham was too eager and got the slightest of flicks on the American’s effort, which meant that it was ruled out for offside.
Milan now sit one point off eighth place with nine Serie A matches left to play this weekend. The Rossoneri have six games of their own remaining before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
For Udinese, this was their worst defeat of the season, and this is now the first time that they have lost four consecutive Serie A matches in three years.
Leao 42’, Pavlovic 45’, T. Hernandez 74’, Reijnders 81’.
Milan the better team throughout. Pavlova and Theo were very good. Maignan absolutely smashes into little Alex and somehow Maignan comes off wor5e 😂 Lightweight Mike.

Rounding out this multifaceted portrait of Asia are works about women’s empowerment(Her Story, Like a Rolling Stone, China), an aging population(Teki Cometh, Japan), social marginalization(Hear Me, Love in the Big City, South Korea), and civil rights(Sunshine, Philippines). Each film is an open window on an issue, a dream, a conflict, told with the tools of popular cinema, but often with a depth that defies expectations.
Among the titles on the program are Tsui Hark’s Shanghai Blues - a restored classic celebrating yesterday’s diva - and Daughter’s Daughter, an intense family drama that tells the mature face of a director capable of looking at the present with lucidity and tenderness. FEFF 27 thus proves once again that cinema is also memory, reflection and recognition of artistic greatness.
The film is already considered a cult among festival fans, and its screening will be one of the most anticipated events. Between laughter, surprises and reflections, the FEFF confirms itself as the ideal place for those who love cinema capable of breaking the boundaries between genres, languages and cultures.
Making all this possible are, as always, main sponsors Credifriuli and Amga Energia & Servizi - a commercial brand of the Hera Group - who support one of Europe’s most significant cultural events in the panorama of film festivals.
In addition to the exhibition, the anthology The World of Round Slots, the first Western collection of Mizuki’s unpublished short stories and writings from the historic “Garo” magazine, will also be published. This is a unique opportunity to explore a complex and fascinating fictional universe where the boundaries between the real and supernatural are constantly blurred.
This section is not only a tribute to genre cinema, but also a reflection on the function of the monster in popular culture: that which is scary, that which is excluded, that which reminds us of who we are or who we might become. A celebration of diversity, tradition and creativity that spans the entire Asian continent.

Milan Player Ratings vs Udinese: Leao Runs Show in Udine | OneFootballThe Cult of Calcio
Milan strolled to a scintillating 4-0 win at Udinese to temporarily close the gap to fourth-placed Bologna in the Serie A standings. Despite recovering from a 2-1 loss at Napoli, tonight’s emphatic performance at the Bluenergy Stadium may have come too little too late for the Rossoneri faithful
Tired legs after an intense 1-1 draw against Inter in midweek Coppa Italia action failed to throw a spanner in the works as Milan delivered arguably their best performance under Sergio Conceicao
Despite waiting for the opening goal until late in the first half
last season’s runners-up tore Kosta Runjaic’s side apart in Udine
Rafael Leao opened the scoring with a delightful first-time effort from the edge of the box to break the deadlock in the 42nd minute
outjumping Jaka Bijol inside the six-yard box to meet Christian Pulisic’s corner-kick delivery and put Milan in firm control of the match
Milan lost star goalkeeper Mike Maignan to injury at the start of the second half as a nasty collision with Alejandro Jimenez forced Conceicao to bring on Marco Sportiello
The Frenchman’s withdrawal didn’t derail the team’s morale as they continued to dominate the game
Theo Hernandez scored a ‘vintage Theo’ goal in the 74th minute to triple the visitors’ advantage before Tijjani Reijnders completed Udinese’s fiasco on home turf with his tenth Serie A goal this season
but a fifth consecutive top-four finish looks highly unlikely
The French keeper only had to make one challenging save in the first half
but it was a stunning reflex to thwart Kingsley Ehizibue at 0-0
The Englishman’s stuttering form luckily didn’t come to the fore in Milan’s new-look formation
though his showing hardly brimmed with confidence
No-nonsense defending from the Italian center-back saw him make several routine interventions and help Pavlovic neutralize Lorenzo Lucca
The goal was a fitting reward for the Serbian defender’s brilliant performance as he made light work of the in-form Lucca
Milan fans had to wait for almost four months for this moment
Theo returned to his rampaging best down the left flank
reminding everyone why he’s one of the world’s elite full-backs
In addition to his usual defensive contribution
the ex-Monaco midfielder registered an assist to cap off a promising performance
Though the Dutchman often scores a ‘highlight-type’ of goals
as he only had to turn the ball home from point-blank range
the young gun fared reasonably well in defense
His tricky feet and acceleration made him a threat in attack
Had only Milan had Leao in this kind of form the whole season… The Bluenergy Stadium had the pleasure of watching one of Europe’s finest wingers at his best
the USMNT forward wasn’t as influential as in recent outings
A lack of service in the box must have frustrated the former Fiorentina striker
fighting tooth and nail for every possession

a Neolithic-era settlement dating from the 7th millennium B.C.E.
the earliest forms of pottery production associated with grain processing
have been discovered by archaeologists from the University of Udine
called the Rectangular Mudbrick Building and the White Building
located on top of a hill and belonging to the elites of the time
were also found in the nearby settlement of Asingeran
These findings represent the most significant results of the excavation campaign conducted this year as part of the Asingeran Excavation Project
sponsored by the University of Friuli in collaboration with the Dohuk Directorate of Antiquities. The project aims to understand how early agricultural communities
evolved into complex settlements characterized by a division of labor and a hierarchical social structure-a prototype of modern society
The excavations are concentrated in the Navkur plain
Research by archaeologists from the University of Udine will continue with laboratory analysis of ceramic finds
paleobotanical remains and DNA recovered from the two sites
thanks to collaboration with the Universities of Bologna and Padua and the National Museum of Denmark
The results of these investigations will make it possible to reconstruct both the social organization of the early communities of Asingeran and the surrounding area and the subsistence farming practices adopted locally
the project is being developed by the Department of Humanities and Cultural Heritage Studies at the University of Udine
“The information obtained at Asingeran and at the new Kanispan site is exceptional,” stresses Professor Iamoni
professor of Archaeology and Art History of Ancient Western Asia and the Eastern Mediterranean
“At the former site the two large buildings indicate the presence of elites; at Kanispan the traces of the earliest forms of ceramic production are combined with the processing of grains that were grown in the area.”
The Asingeran site was first identified in 2013 during a field survey conducted by the University of Udine as part of the PARTeN project
Excavations revealed extensive and uninterrupted occupation from the Neolithic Ceramic to the beginning of the 3rd millennium BC
with a significant phase of resettlement in the second half of the 2nd millennium B.C.E
“The site is a case study for investigating the patterns of land occupation and the emergence of socio-economic complexity in the Eastern Upper Tigris area and
in Northern Mesopotamia,” Iamoni explains
Excavations at Asingeran also unearthed modestly sized stone dwellings dating to three different phases of occupation during the Middle and Late Ottoman period (1500-1800 AD)
ovens for cooking food(tannur) and a kiln were found
A close game was expected but Italy never looked like maintaining their good run of form and Argentina, despite missing several regulars with Pablo Matera, Marcos Kremer and Santiago Chocobares all missing, ran out easy winners
The Italians were not helped by the loss of full-back Ange Capuozzo to injury early on and Argentina were 17-0 up before the half-hour
cut the lead to four points with a penalty try and a penalty on either side of the break
The comeback never materialised though and Argentina ran in another five tries in the second half with Italy too easily losing possession and allowing the opposition in time and again
Fly-half Tomas Albornoz scored 20 of Argentina's points
including a try when he raced away after his side again capitalised on a loose ball
and Italy's Giacomo Nicotera scored what would only be a consolation try
Argentina crushed ItalyFlashscoreCapuozzo went off after six minutes
with Argentina already ahead from an early penalty before scoring an easy try after 11 minutes
Juan Cruz Mallia pounced on a loose ball as Italy's passing broke down and the fullback raced down the right wing
skipping past the chasing Louis Lynagh to score
Franco Molina made a great catch to set up another Argentina attack and when Paolo Garbisi failed to gather a loose ball Gonzalo Bertranou went over in the corner
A penalty try awarded by English referee Matthew Carley and the resulting yellow card for Juan Martin Gonzalez for illegally collapsing the Italian maul gave Italy a glimmer of hope
Carley later showed his sense of humour when he went to ground after getting too close to the action
jokingly signalling for the TMO before saying only his pride had been hurt
At 17-13 the home fans could have been forgiven for thinking Italy were about to come good but in the 49th minute Argentina's Joel Sclavi broke from a maul to go over and eight minutes later they were in again
Italy lost possession under the Argentine posts and when Lynagh failed to gather the clearance kick upfield
Albornoz's speed took him over for the try which he duly converted
and with 11 minutes remaining Nicotera finally got some points on the board for Italy with a try but when Allan missed the conversion it left his side 36-18 down
Matias Alemmano's try with seven minutes to go ended any Italian hopes and with the hosts down to 14 after Lorenzo Cannone's yellow card
there was time for one more Argentine try with Bautista Delguy finishing off a well-worked move
Italy will now face Georgia in Genoa next Sunday while Argentina travel to Dublin to take on Ireland on Saturday

A Nations League football match between Italy and Israel will be held on Monday amid tight security in the north Italian city of Udine
against the backdrop of the Middle East conflict
Security barriers have been erected around the two hotels hosting the Israeli and Italian footballers as well as around the Bluenergy Stadium where fans will be filtered by police in a high-security "red zone"
Only 11,700 tickets have been sold - out of a stadium capacity of 25,000 - for the Nations League match which is scheduled to kick off at 20.45 local time
Thousands of people are expected to gather in the centre of Udine for a pro-Palestinian demonstration a few hours ahead of the game
with security chiefs dividing the city "in half" to avoid any connection points between the two events
"Israel are a good team that can play football so we have to keep our balance and organisation" - Italy's coach Luciano Spalletti told reporters on Sunday
before addressing the ongoing conflict - "I think there are many Israelis who do not want the war and we must convince some others that this is something that must end."
The Azzurri are top of their Nations League group with seven points from three games after last week's 2-2 draw with Belgium in Rome

The Juventus Men's First Team left a tricky away fixture at Udinese with three points secured
there were plenty of positive signs as the Bianconeri enter the final stretch before the November break
Khephren Thuram found himself in dangerous positions twice near Maduka Okoye’s goal
with his best chance coming in the fourth minute when he narrowly shot over the bar
but what stood out was their timing—they knew precisely when to pick up the pace and threaten
Kenan Yildiz connected with a cross from Nicolo Savona but missed the target
setting the stage for the opening goal a few minutes later
set off and attempted a brilliant solo effort that hit the post and deflected off a luckless Okoye into the net
with the path of the ball set to take it away from goal had it not bounced off the goalkeeper
creating their only real chance of the half at the 21st minute
with Michele Di Gregorio producing a fantastic save to deny Keinan Davies
with Di Gregorio stepping up again against Martin Payero two minutes later
The visitors were rewarded with a second goal in the 36th minute
the woodwork was involved - this time with Yildiz striking the post before Savona tapped in the rebound to make it 2-0
which closed the first half on a high note for Juventus
Udinese came out with a more aggressive approach in the second half
but the goal by Davis was ruled out due to a foul on Federico Gatti
who unintentionally obstructed Di Gregorio in the process
Di Gregorio was pivotal twice more around the 75th minute
he made a brave punch to clear a cross aimed at Jaka Bijol and
showcased quick reflexes to deny a header from Davis
Udinese’s last real threat came in the 82nd minute
as Lorenzo Lucca headed the ball off the crossbar
Dusan Vlahovic created their main offensive chances in the second half
then linked up with Timothy Weah in the 68th minute after a play initiated by Yildiz
only to see his shot saved by the Udinese goalkeeper
Teun Koopmeiners nearly capped off his return to the starting lineup with a goal of his own
but Okoye once again blocked his shot following a counterattack orchestrated by Samuel Mbangula
The match ended with a convincing victory for Juventus
who can now look forward to their upcoming Champions League clash away at Lille with confidence
Often bewitched and almost always hostile, as precedents, especially the most recent ones, say.
In Udine it's never a walk in the park: Bologna knows it and the people of Bologna know it, who have seen it all in Friuli, between illusory victories and heavy defeats, not least last season: a 3-0 post-Christmas defeat without a fight that certainly marked the heaviest defeat in the year that led to the Champions League, as well as perhaps the ugliest of the Motta era.
And today won't be a walk in the park either, especially after a vigil marred by the injuries of Ndoye and Holm, who really aren't wanted these days.
It will be up to the rossoblù on the field to return to send the right signals to fuel the enthusiasm of a week that the city and fans will hardly forget, full of joys and triumphs. Perhaps taking inspiration from those who in this stadium gave flashes of authorship, for afternoons and evenings to frame.
February 2002, it's raining, or rather, pouring, on the "old" Friuli. Guidolin's eleven, until then very fragile away from the Dall'Ara, turns out to be cynical and biting thanks to Cruz, who decides it after 12 minutes. From that afternoon on, it will be a beautiful Bologna, at least until that ill-fated 5th May.
March three years later and the story is similar, with the rossoblù in the Europa zone. Four minutes and Zagorakis witnesses the Tare kiss, enough for the three points. But it will be the last joy of the season, closed with the bitter and daring relegation in the play-off with Parma.
Winter 2004, the market gives Mazzone the Japanese talent Nakata. In his few months under the Two Towers, Hidetoshi does not fail to deliver masterstrokes, such as the one in the Friuli icebox: a free kick from almost midfield that fools De Sanctis, sealing a nice hat-trick against Spalletti.
Of the Roman goalkeeper in rossoblù there are only negative memories, including relegation. Except one, that time on the Saturday before Easter in 2013 when he saved a penalty from the specialist Di Natale, giving his team a point. On the rest of his adventure here, no comment.
Valentine's Day 2016, Donadoni on the bench and Destro in attack. The Ascoli striker will be the match-winner, with an iconic celebration under the away fans' section. It seems like the beginning of a fairy tale, but soon after, an injury will arrive. And it will be love-hate until the farewell.
