Tom Morello and Thomas Raggi gave a searing rendition of the MC5's Kick Out the Jams
before joining his son Roman for a live performance of their single Soldier in The Army of Love
Tom Morello and Måneskin have become consistent collaborators
with the Rage Against the Machine guitarist lending his guitar skills to the Måneskin track Gossip last year
Their collaborative spirit shows no sign of stopping
joined Morello on stage at Castello Scaligero di Villafranca in Verona
Morello brought out Raggi for a searing rendition of MC5's Kick Out the Jams
accompanied by vocalist Delila Paz from The Last Internationale
The result was a hard rock spectacle in which Raggi truly held his own, trading riffs and solos with Morello. According to a review by Rock Nation Italy
we were all caught up in witnessing this erotic act between Morello and his guitar
and Raggi didn't play the Måneskin character – even though they played Gossip together – but he got into character
“My 13 yr old son Roman & I rocked our new tune SOLDIER IN THE ARMY OF LOVE at an Italian castle in Verona last night
Roman’s fans went wild!” wrote Morello in an Instagram post
[my son Roman] was putting in his eight hours a day
A post shared by Tom Morello (@tommorello)
“So I've been relegated to be the rhythm guitar player in the family now. But no, one day I was walking by his bedroom and he was playing these awesome drop D heavy riffs
‘I just came up with 'em.’”
When it comes to Raggi, the Måneskin guitarist previously joined Morello on stage in June at London's Electric Ballroom for a rendition of Gossip and Kick Out the Jams
calling them the “standard bearers of rock'n'roll for a younger generation.” “When I heard that there was a rock ’n’ roll band from Italy that was blowing up around the world I was like
Come on.’ Then when I saw them play live I was blown away
I got to jam with them at their studio in Hollywood
they connect with their audience in a deep and meaningful way
and if you’ve seen them play live the crowd goes off
It looks a lot like some of the big bands of the ’90s.”
“That is called ‘playing the s**t out of the guitar!’”: Bruce Springsteen
Steven Van Zandt and Smokey Robinson join forces on their own rendition of a Motown classic at the 2025 American Music Honors

RFSceneryBuilding’s latest release takes us back to Italy
with the release of Verona Villafranca Airport
Verona Villafranca Airport (LIPX) serves the city of Verona
The airport’s history dates back all the way to WWI
and nowadays is visited by a wide range of European carriers with mostly seasonal destinations
RFSceneryBuilding’s recreation of Verona Villafranca Airport comes with a rather small feature list
but the airport itself does not appear any less complete because of that
The previews show an accurate and up-to-date terminal building
night lighting and apron clutter to make the scenery more immersive
The surrounding areas have also been slightly touched by the team with a few custom buildings in it
RFSceneryBuilding’s Verona Villafranca Airport is available for €15 from SimMarket

My wife and I took our two kids on a long-awaited trip from our home near Aviano Air Base to Parco Giardino Sigurta
arguably the most beautiful garden park in Italy
as soon as the Italian government relaxed its coronavirus restrictions
when Nicolo Contarini bought the property near Verona and farmed it
a new owner came up with a plan for building a romantic English-style landscape garden
Several of the buildings in the 150-acre park
It passed between owners and into ruins until local doctor and businessman Giuseppe Carlo Sigurta bought it in 1941
tripled its size and passed it on to his family members
Walking along the paths and taking in the abundant flowers and greenery are great ways to experience the park if you’re up for the hike
Hourly bike rentals and a train ride help cover more ground
or splurge on a golf cart for 18 euros an hour
complete with an English-language recorded guide
Among the highlights is the avenue of roses
where bushes full of the flowers line the walkway
you’ll get a beautiful view of the Castello Scaligero
located in the nearby town of Villafranca di Verona
Some scenes from William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” used this castle as a setting
The castle is also open for visitors and provides beautiful views of Verona
All along the western edge of the park are grazing deer at the appropriately named Deer Valley
turkeys and ducks is a great educational opportunity for children
Perhaps another life lesson for kids awaits at the dog cemetery
where decades of Sigurta family pets are buried
The maze hedges include 1,500 yew trees and encompass more than 27,000 square feet
The maze is a huge hit and it seems to be busy all the time
that are expected to resume as the pandemic situation improves
The hour trip from the Army garrison in Vicenza and even the two-hour haul from Aviano are well worth making to see the park and the greater Verona area

Just as fireworks are not used at the Colosseum and Pompeii
the same should apply to the Arena in Verona: this is the line of Tinè
the group’s management has made it known that in case of a ban on the use of fires
Kiss might not play: it would in fact mean distorting the show.A decision that has caused much discussion: Roberto De Luca
the head of Live Nation Italia (the company organizing the date)
recalled that Kiss already performed on two other occasions at the Arena and both times made use of fireworks: “It seems to me that there is a storm in a glass of water
Superintendent Tinè does not bring technical arguments
He talks about preserving the stones and certainly not about people’s safety.” To try to remedy the problem
a meeting was also held last night between Tinè and the new mayor of Verona
Tinè complains that he received the technical details at the last minute and thus found himself unable to act in time by imagining a shared solution
so far they have always acted by way of derogation
and the Kiss case could be welcome to finally establish the rules of engagement for the Arena: “They welcome it if thanks to them,” said the superintendent
“we will finally arrive at a clarification by obtaining a result that raises the level of discussion
instead of having to proceed to yet another derogation.” The shows at the Arena are in fact regulated by an agreement between the municipality (which is the owner of the monument) and the Ministry of Culture (to which the Superintendency belongs)
and which should be rewritten: “we need a strong
clear and drastic line,” Tinè stressed
a sign of a lack of strategic attention.” In fact
the problem does not only concern the Kiss concert: if the hard line prevails from the new agreement between the Municipality and the Ministry
many other concerts involving the use of fireworks could be skipped
in addition to the closing ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics and the opening ceremony of the Paralympics in the same year
who in recent days has also been pressed by former mayor Flavio Tosi (“Tommasi has a shot of courage and stop the ideological no’s of the Superintendence,” Tosi told L’Arena
“with the no’s Verona risks losing great music and the best international artists”)
while waiting for the official response from the Superintendence scheduled for Monday
one can hope for a good outcome of the affair
will wait to the last for a very troubled concert
which was scheduled for the summer of 2020
then was postponed to that of 2021 for Covid-related reasons
then for the same reasons postponed again to 2022
national president of Sinop - National Syndicate of Pyrotechnic Operators
“in a very difficult period for our sector
still heavily tried by the bans put in place during the Covid pandemic
this episode only damages us further.” In fact
at risk are not only the spectators (who will come from many parts of Italy with the risk of not seeing anything if the superintendence remains firm and the concert organizers as well: the concert
has gone soldout and more than ten thousand people are expected at the Arena)
since the groups in concert that make use of fireworks always make use of local workers
the Villafranca di Verona hypothesis pops up: in fact
has offered to make the Scaliger Castle available to host the concert should the Arena show be skipped
has the capacity to hold the Arena audience and has already given fireworks shows

Fan-filmed video footage of Sebastian Bach's July 6 performance at the Rock The Castle festival at Castello Scaligero in Villafranca Di Verona (VR),Italy can be seen below
Bach recently issued an "open invitation" to the other members of SKID ROW's classic lineup to "get onstage and jam" during the vocalist's upcoming tour
in which he will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's self-titled debut by performing the album in its entirety
Asked if he has been contacted by any of his former bandmates about the upcoming tour, Sebastian told Consequence Of Sound: "I haven't heard back from them
I wish they could get along with my manager
and this is the 30th anniversary of the first record I ever put out in my life
Would I like to celebrate it with the other four people who put it out
But I'm also not going to wait around any longer — because I don't know how much longer I have
During a June 6 interview with SiriusXM DJ Eddie Trunk
Bach invited "any original member in SKID ROW" — that is
guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo and bassist Rachel Bolan — to "get onstage and jam" during his upcoming tour
Affuso — who left SKID ROW in 1998 and claims to be "the only former member that keeps in contact with all former SKID ROW bandmates and is still good friends with them all" — subsequently responded to Bach on Facebook
Bachreplied to Affuso
It is not currently known where Affuso will perform with Bach
although it seems likely that the guest appearance will take place during Bach's September 25 show at Sony Hall in New York City
Affuso has previously reunited with Bach to perform classic SKID ROW songs on at least two occasions — a 2011 show in Poughkeepsie
New York where Affuso played "I Remember You"
and a 2016 show in the same city where he played "Rattlesnake Shake"
Bach has been a vocal proponent of a SKID ROW reunion
a prospect continually shot down by Sabo and Bolan
reunion rumors peaked after the British festival Sonisphere featured the band's logo prominently on a leaked poster
but Bach later told the Boise Music Examiner that his former bandmates "did not want to do it." For his part
Affuso has said that he would not rejoin SKID ROW unless Bach also returned to the group
the group resurfaced with vocalist Johnny Solinger
After an eight-month stint with former TNT vocalist Tony Harnell — who Bolan said last year was a "really bad match" that "just didn't fit" — SKID ROW recruited former DRAGONFORCE vocalist ZP Theart
who has toured with the group for the past three and a half years
Theart will appear on SKID ROW's forthcoming Michael Wagener-produced studio album
which will mark both the group's recording debut for Golden Robot Records and the conclusion of its "United World Rebellion" trilogy
During a June 15 interview with Finland's Kaaos TV
Sabo confirmed that he would not accept Bach's latest overture

In a five-star review, NME‘s Rhian Daly called the new song, which features backup vocals from Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo
“a sun-kissed ode to starting anew and doing it in one of the best places for it – soaking up the rays on a glorious beach.”

“I had never heard Primal Scream in my life
I’d been told to check them out,” she said
“I wrote the song on the piano and then we realised it sounds a lot like ‘Loaded’
It’s just one of those crazy things that they just were the spiritual forebears of the song.”
Primal Scream have since said that they “love” Lorde’s single

Black metal pioneers VENOM performed at this year's Rock The Castle festival on Friday
Fan-filmed video of the concert can be seen below
VENOM formed in 1979 in Newcastle Upon Tyne
Coming to prominence towards the end of the new wave of British heavy metal
VENOM's first two albums — "Welcome To Hell" (1981) and "Black Metal" (1982) — are considered a major influence on thrash metal and extreme metal in general
VENOM's second album proved influential enough that its title was used as the name of the extreme metal sub-genre of black metal
The band classic lineup trio of Conrad "Cronos" Lant
Jeff "Mantas" Dunn and Anthony "Abaddon" Bray recorded two further studio albums
"At War With Satan" (1984) and "Possessed" (1985),and live album "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" (1986)
CELTIC FROST and MAYHEM as major influences
they are one of the most revered bands of their generation
VENOM are still fronted by original singer/bassist Cronos and headline festivals all over the globe and continue to release new music
In a 2018 interview with Consequence Of Sound
Cronos stated about his band's influence on subsequent extreme metal groups: "I really like to think of VENOM as a catalyst rather than inventors
I've always been — from being young — a fan of what you'd call 'rock music.' From THE BEATLES to THE [ROLLING] STONES to THE WHO
through [LED] ZEPPELIN and [DEEP] PURPLE and everybody
My mum's brother used to play guitar in a country-western band
so I've always been around instruments and music
I've never really gotten into any of the electronic stuff when it came along in the '80s
I didn't really see how that was working for me in any way — I just like a drum kit and a guitar."
He continued: "When people used to ask back in the day
'It's all the best bits of the bands that I love.' So
then I'm going to wear a leather jacket and a pair of leather pants
And if KISS have three flashpots on the front of the stage
And if Ozzy Osbourne is going to sing about the devil walking down the street
then I'm going to be the devil walking down the street
It was taking all of the great things that I loved
and encompassing all of these ideas into a new thing
That's why I always used to wear the big Doc Martens — that was my punk heritage
"And just putting some aggression back into the music," Cronos added
heavy metal has always been 'the devil's music.' They always say the devil has the best tunes
and I was bit frustrated at leaving school and being told that rock music was dead
and it had its day and everybody was finished with it
when the New Wave of British Heavy Metal started in England — which became IRON MAIDEN
and all these bands — I wanted to create something different from that
I appreciated that they were very heavily influenced by the ZEPPELINs
and were trying to keep a hold of this '70s vibe
but I wanted something that was kind of a cross between SABBATH and MOTÖRHEAD
Something more aggressive — with a bit of SEX PISTOLS in there
was released in December 2018 through Spinefarm Records
VENOM is not to be confused with VENOM INC.
the band featuring Mantas alongside ex-VENOM bassist/vocalist Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan
“Yellow Road" could not pass by Verona in any way ..
Ancilla - grandmother of Luisella Benedetti
bought two holdings with vineyards: La Ghidina and Cadellora
in the heart of the production area of one of the most elegant whites of Italy
Planted on terrain typical of the Lugana denomination area
consisting of a clay silt as hard as rock when the weather is dry but that can turn into a slimy
Only 4 of the 17 hectares of property around the cellar are planted with vines
Ancilla Lugana cultivate the international varieties
And now it is no accident on the black and white map only two colored icons
In the upper left corner (red mark) is located literally on the shore of the famous Lake Garda
and the other (the yellow house) is located slightly south of Verona
These badges are the vineyards of the Ancilla enterprise
As the connoisseurs of the wine business write: the climate is one of the most favorable: the proximity of the lake prevents the build up of moisture
ensuring good ventilation and an excellent day-night temperature range
This time we were interested in purely practical things
because the places are very familiar in classical literature and some of us
maybe swim in the thermal springs of Sirmione
And today Luisella owner of the winery Ancilla Lugana answers our questions…
1 - The history of creating your favorite white (yellow) wine
its grapes came from the youngest vineyards
Now its vineyards have reached an even better time
Lugana Ella is pale straw-yellow with the greenish tinges typical of Lugana wine
grapefruit and ripe citrus fruits stand out
fresh and well-balanced in the ratio between sugar residues and acidity
2 - Do you prefer (it's important for you) the color of the wine
Is your first sensation and give you the idea what are you going to drink
This wine was dedicated to my mother (Maria Teresa Rossi is the name of my mother)
4 - Your choice for the "Yellow Road" (you can give 1-2 wines)
Ella Lugana DOC and Maria Teresa Rossi brut
5 - You can offer (photo) the most beautiful view (favorite point) on vineyards or the surrounding landscape or photos of thermal springs
6 - Do you take part in the cultural life of the town Sirmione
I take part more in town of Verona than Sirmione
Of course I participate to all the event of Lugana wines in Garda Lake area but my winery is in Villafranca di Verona and the vignards are in Sirmione and Villafranca di Verona
7 - If the "Yellow Road" passes through Sirmione
your menu: dinner in (and how much it will cost the tourist)
If you’ll arrive in Sirmione I suggest a dinner and stay in Palace Hotel Villa Cortine
8 - Which white wine producer (from Italy or another country) would you recommend for the "Yellow
i’ll recomend Lugana wine of Ancilla of course (J) and Revi Trento DOC

A dBTechnologies VIO L212 active line array system
complemented by VIO S218 active subwoofers
was the main PA for Italian artist Caparezza’s outdoor 2018 tour
For the debut date at the Sherwood Festival
the PA setup consisted of two hangs of 16 VIO L212 top modules
with an additional eight VIO L210 modules used as front-fill and 24 VIO S218 active subs in a cardioid configuration
controlled remotely by the Aurora Net software
“I had the opportunity to listen to the VIO L212 while it was still in the testing phase,” commented Antonio Porcelli
FOH engineer for Caparezza’s live shows and head of audio for the production for the tour
“I have to say that this system won me over immediately
even though I had never worked with dBTechnologies systems before.”
Porcelli continued: “In the following months I got to know dBTechnologies better as a company and I was impressed by the team of people behind the product
both for their competence and willingness to work together with customers
I knew that VIO was the perfect system for the big venues in Italy
and therefore also for Caparezza’s outdoor tour
I had the opportunity to experiment and explore the potential of the PA system in a non-standard context
Now I can say that I made the right choice and that VIO L212 is the best system we’ve used so far for any of Caparezza’s live shows.”
