NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]y) to just above room temperature by finely adjusting the Fe concentration (y = 0.82) With increase in the cell temperature (Tcell) Vcell of the NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.82 (NCF82)/NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.9 (NCF90) cell steeply increases from 0 mV to ~120 mV around 320 K Our observation indicates that the thermocell with use of phase transition is a promising energy harvesting device NaxMn[Fe(CN)6]0.83 (MCF83) and NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.9 (NCF90) The NMF83/NCF90 cell shows a thermal voltage of Vcell ~ 40 mV in the thermal cycle between TL (=286 K) and TH (=313 K) The tertiary battery extends the application range of the battery materials from energy storage to energy harvesting (or independent power supply) The reported |α| is order of 1 mV/K at the maximum indicating that a more elaborated exploration is indispensable to obtain much higher-Vcell Another drawback is that Vcell is not constant but is proportional to ΔT (=TH − TL) Such a temperature dependence (T-dependence) of Vcell is unsuitable as power supply for the IT/IoT devices Schematic structure of NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]y (Co-PBA) in the (a) low-spin (LS) and (b) high-spin (HS) phases The LS–HS phase transition is triggered by cooperative charge transfer from Fe2+ to Co3+ which causes spin state transition of Co from LS Co3+ to HS Co2+ Fe takes the LS configuration in both the divalent and trivalent states The phase transition accompanies significant increase in the cell volume reflecting the larger ionic radius (0.75 Å) of HS Co2+ we can expect a significant variation of the redox potential (V) at the LS – HS phase transition in Co-PBA we demonstrated that the usage of the LS–HS phase transition of Co-PBA (NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]y) qualitatively improved the device performance We set Tc of the LS–HS transition to just above room temperature Vcell of the NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.82 (NCF82)/NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.9 (NCF90) cell steeply increase from 0 mV to ~ 120 mV around 320 K Our observation indicates that the tertiary battery with use of phase transition is a promising independent power supply for the IT/IoT devices We found that Tcu and Tcl linearly increases with y and approaches to room temperature at y ~ 0.81 We finally concluded that NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.82 (NCF82) is the best composition for our experiment Temperature dependence of the lattice constant (a) of NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.82; (a) x = 0.00 Open and closed circles represent the data obtained in the warming and cooling runs (a) Phase diagram of NaxCo[Fe(CN)6]0.82 against x Open and closed circles represent upper (Tcu) and lower (Tcl) critical temperatures The red and blue curves are just guide to the eyes The broken curve represents calculated charge transfer (qCT) from Fe2+ to Co3+ at the LS–HS transition Open and closed circles represent a in the HS and LS phases (c) Charge curves of the NCF82 film at various temperatures qCT linearly increases from qCT = 0.54 e/Co at x = 0.00 to 0.82 e/Co at 0.28 and becomes constant (= 0.82) With further increase in x beyond x = 0.46 qCT linearly decrease from qCT = 0.82 e/Co at x =  0.46 to 0.00 e/Co at 1.28 These x-dependent behavior of qCT positively correlates with ΔTc and Δa We note that the no phase transition is observed in the x region where qCT < 0.5 e/Co which is in the LS phase at 300 K are ascribed to the redox reaction of Fe and Co the higher-lying plateau of NCF82 in the LS phase is reasonably ascribed to CoIII[FeIII(CN)6]0.6[FeII(CN)6]0.3 + 0.6Na+  + 0.6 e− ➔ Na0.6CoIII[FeII(CN)6]0.9 while the lower-lying plateau is ascribed to Na0.6CoIII[FeII(CN)6]0.9 + Na+  + e− ➔ Na1.6CoII[FeII(CN)6]0.9 V in the higher-lying plateau significantly drops by about 150 mV The potential drop cannot be ascribed to the sample deterioration because the charge curve returns to the original value at 283 K the redox site of the higher-lying plateau is considered to be Co because the valence state in the HS phase is NaxCoII0.54+xCoIII0.46−x[FeIII(CN)6]0.82 (x < 0.28) or NaxCoII0.54+xCoIII0.46−x[FeIII(CN)6]0.82 (0.28 < x < 0.46) Such a switching of the redox site causes the potential drop as observed This hypothesis, i.e., the redox site switching, is supported by the vibrational spectroscopy in the infrared (IR) region (Fig. S4) the CN stretching vibrational mode is observed around 2080–2020 cm−1 in the lower-lying plateau while an additional band appears at 2200 cm−1 in the higher-lying plateau The former (latter) bands ascribed to the CN stretching vibrational mode in the [Fe(CN)6]4− ([Fe(CN)6]3−) units the redox cites in the lower- and higher-lying plateaus are Co and Fe the corresponding mode is observed around 2240–2200 cm−1 in the higher-lying plateau while an additional band appears at 2080 cm−1 in the lower-lying plateau the redox cites in the lower- and higher-lying plateaus are Fe and Co the IR spectroscopy indicates the redox site switching at the LS–HS phase transition (a) Schematic illustration of tertiary battery redox potentials of cathode and anode materials (b) Charge curves of the NCF82 film at various temperatures (c) Charge curves of the NCF90 film at various temperatures Closed triangles in (b) and (c) represent the actual x values of the pre-oxidized films for the tertiary battery (d) Schematic illustration of Vcell against Tcell Tcu and Tcl are the upper and lower critical temperatures Thermal cycle of the NCF82/NCF90 cell: (a) Warming process from TL (=283 K) to TH (=323 K) in the open circuit condition (b) discharge process at TH at constant current at 0.7 C (c) cooling process from TH to TL in the open circuit condition and (d) discharge process at TL at constant current at 0.7 C Vcell and Tcell are the cell voltage and cell temperature Q is the extracted charge per unit mass of NCF82 lower limit of the voltage was set to 80 mV upper limit of the voltage was set to 0 mV Open and closed symbols represent the data obtained in the first and second cycles Broken arrow in (c) schematically represents the variation of Vcell during the change and discharge process at TL at the rate of 0.7 C Vcell returns to the initial value (~0 mV) after the charge and discharge processes at TL which is 2.9% of the discharge capacity of NCF82 x of NCF82 (NCF90) returns to the initial value (~0.1) The electric work (WL) at TL is 0.7 meV/NCF82 The unexpected phase mixing at TL is probably ascribed the distribution of the chemical composition among the crystals in the film. In Co-PBA, Tc of the LS–HS transition is significantly sensitive to the y value (Fig. S1) One percent increase in y increases Tc by ~ 10 K It is interesting that the residual HS phase is eliminated by the charge and discharge processes at TL In the charge process of the tertiary battery the anode film is reduced to the initial as-grown state In the discharge process of the tertiary battery high-y particles (in the HS phase) with lower-V are selectively oxidized to CoII3–3yCoIII3y−2[FeIII(CN)6]y and become electrochemically inert the redox potential is dominated by the low-y particle in the LS phase after the charge and discharge process at TL Let us roughly evaluate the thermal efficiency (η = W/Q where W and Q are the output work and input thermal energy) of the NCF82/NCF90 cell The input thermal energy is C (TH − TL) + H where C and H are the sum of the specific heats of the anode and cathode materials and latent heat for the phase transition We neglect the specific heat of the electrolyte since the amount of electrolyte can be minimized in a battery We used calculated C (=4.16 meV/K) of ideal Na2Co[Fe(CN)6] in the high-temperature limit (the Dulong-Petit law) H (18.3 meV) of the NFC82 film at x ~ 0.1 was evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) which is 11% of the Carnot efficiency (ηcarnot = 1 − TL/TH) between TL (=286 K) and TH (=313 K) We demonstrated that the usage of the LS–HS transition of Co-PBA qualitatively improved performance of the tertiary battery Vcell of the NCF82/NCF90 cell steeply increase from 0 mV to ~120 mV around 320 K the demand for the chemical and physical uniformity in the electrode material is much severer in the tertiary battery with use of the phase transition than that in the conventional secondary battery To realize the chemical and physical uniformity improvement of the sample synthesis is under progress The charge/discharge curves of the Co-PBA films were measured with a potentiostat (HokutoDENKO HJ1001SD8) using a three-pole beaker-type cell The electrolyte is aqueous solution containing 17 mol/kg NaClO4 The charge/discharge rate was about 0.4–0.6 C The upper and lower limits of the redox potential were 0.20 and 1.1 V vs The mass of each film was evaluated using thickness We confirmed that the actual densities of the NCF82 and NCF90 films were 0.98 and 0.58 of the ideal density The discharge capacity (=104 mAh/g) of the NCF82 film was closed to the ideal value (=105 mAh/g) for the Na intercalation from x = 0.0 to 1.28 The discharge capacity (=140 mAh/g) of the NCF90 film was closed to the ideal value (=127 mAh/g) for the Na intercalation from x = 0.0 to 1.60 For the ex situ X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) the magnitude of x of the NCF82 film was controlled by the charge/discharge process in a beaker-type cell The active areas of the films were about 1.0 cm2 The magnitude of x was evaluated from the extracted charge under the assumption that Na1.28Co[Fe(CN)6]0.82 is in the discharged state and Na0.00Co[Fe(CN)6]0.82 is in the fully-charged state The XRD patterns of the x-controlled NCF82 film were measurand in the θ−2θ geometry with use of with an X-ray diffractometer (Rigaku The film was attached at the cold heat of a cryostat whose temperature was controlled liquid N2 and electric heater The X-ray source was the Cu Kα line at 40 kV and 40 mA A Si monochromator was used to reduce the scattering by white X-ray Typical measurement time of XRD pattern is 10 minute/degree We note that Co-PBA will deteriorate if left at high temperature (>350 K) for a long time only the T-dependence of the (002) reflection in the cubic cell was investigated The lattice constant (a) was calculated with use of Bragg’s law We fabricated a two-pole beaker-type tertiary battery cathode and electrolyte are the pre-oxidized NCF82 and NCF90 films and aqueous solutions containing 17 mol/kg NaClO4 Pre-oxidization of the films were performed at 1.01 V against Ag/AgCl in aqueous solutions containing 17 mol/kg NaClO4 The x value is ~ 0.1 for both the NCF82 and NCF90 films we concentrated our attention on the voltage jump of NCF82 (anode) at the phase transition the NCF90 (cathode) was regarded as the fixed point of the redox potential the film area (2.0 cm2) of cathode is much larger than that (0.25 cm2) of anode to minimize the variation of x The thermal cycle measurement consists of four processes: (a) warming process from TL (=283 K) to TH (=323 K) device temperature (Tcell) was slowly increased from TL to TH in the open circuit condition Tcell was monitored by a Pt resistance thermometer in the electrolyte the thermally-charged cell was discharged at 0.7 C The discharge rate was defined by the NCF82 film Tcell was slowly decreased from TH to TL in the open circuit condition In order to obtain the purely LS phase without residual HS phase charge and discharge processes at TL were performed at the rate was 0.7 C The upper and lower limits of voltage was 0.70 and −0.04 V The lower limit of voltage (=−0.04 V) was determined so that x becomes the same value after the (c) discharge process at TH the thermally-charged cell was discharged at 0.17 C An slow-moving storm has been dumping intense rains on northern Japan sending residents to shelters and disrupting traffic during a Japanese Buddhist holiday week The storm was once Typhoon Maria but has weakened with winds now blowing up to 72 kph (45 mph) It made landfall near Ofunato City in Iwate prefecture Monday morning and was expected to cut across the Tohoku region as it moved northwest at 20 kph (12 mph) according to the Japan Meteorological Agency The Fire and Disaster Management Agency said no damage or injuries were reported so far but authorities have cautioned about the risks of flooding and mudslides from a relatively rare storm in the region and advised 170,000 residents in Iwate and neighboring Aomori and Miyagi prefectures to go to shelters Iwate prefecture said about 2,000 people actually took shelter early Monday Prime Minister Fumio Kishida vowed that the government would quickly provide information and support to residents in the affected areas The prefecture started an emergency controlled release of water into a river to keep a dam from overflowing calling on about 8,300 riverside residents in the towns of Osanai and Kuji to take shelter due to possible flooding from the discharge Up to 46 centimeters (18 inches) of rain has fallen over the past two days in the Iwate city of Kuji and up to 25 centimeters (9.8 inches) more rain is forecast through Tuesday morning A woman who was at a Iwaizumi shelter told NHK that she came early as she learned a lesson from the last typhoon The storm was affecting travel during the Obon holiday period in which people commemorate their ancestors and domestic flights at several area airports have been suspended or delayed has been swamped with orders from around the world since being mentioned in a social world since being mentioned in a social media post by baseball star Shohei Ohtani Inquiries have been pouring in to Oitomi Inc. which makes traditional nambu tekki iron kettles at its workshop in Ohtani’s hometown of Oshu Ohtani posted photos of an iron kettle and the message “thank you” on his Instagram account The kettle apparently had been a gift for Ohtani who plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the U.S The photos showcased the company’s Miyabi one-liter iron kettle which costs ¥24,200 and has a blue color similar to that of the Dodgers’ uniform which symbolizes gradual prosperity and the lid’s knob is decorated with a chrysanthemum shape The kettle reportedly is popular as a symbol of luck the company was inundated with orders and inquiries from Japan and overseas The five Miyabi kettles that were in stock quickly sold out and Oitomi’s online shop was accessed over 300,000 times in the three days after the Instagram post The kettle producer’s firm had previously recorded about 3,000 hits on a busy day Customers placing new orders now face wait times of about a year which I’ll keep as a family heirloom,” a 65-year-old company employee in Sendai said with a smile “I’m looking forward to it arriving a year from now.” “I’ll be really happy if an item from [Ohtani’s] hometown becomes a regular part of his daily life I hope this will be an opportunity for people around the world to become more interested in nambu tekki ironware.” also has become much more widely known since Ohtani expressed his fondness for yogurt that the company produces In an interview published on a company website in January 2023 Ohtani recommended the yogurt by name and added I think it’s the best in the world.” The yogurt was well-known in the prefecture and popular for its springy texture and natural sweetness that came from raw milk sales through Iwaizumi Holdings’ online site saw a dramatic seven-fold increase “It was an honor to have the world’s best player say our product was the world’s best,” said Yuichi Sakashita a public relations official at Iwaizumi Holdings and we’ll continue supporting him from Iwate.” The “Ohtani effect” was also epitomized by a samurai helmet made by Marutake Sangyo Co. The helmet made headlines when Ohtani wore it during a home run celebration when he was playing for the Los Angeles Angels They became popular as gifts sent to people who make a donation to a local government under the furusato nozei donation system the Satsuma-Sendai government collected a total of ¥29.15 million from 29 donations Our weekly ePaper presents the most noteworthy recent topics in an exciting © 2025 The Japan News - by The Yomiuri Shimbun The best Styles in Haikyuu Legends change depending on the role you want to play for your team Haikyuu Legends is the latest in a long line of exciting anime adaptations to hit Roblox and gain a rave reception from players Based on the hit volleyball manga and anime Haikyuu teams of 6 players take each other on in a classic match with each athlete taking turns serving the ball before leading up their team’s attack or defence You need to set the ball up for your teammates to spike over the net playing with a careful strategy and enough restraint to avoid hitting the ball too far and out of bounds as you level up and play with and against higher skilled players Haikyuu Legends becomes a challenging test Just like in Blue Lock Rivals players in Haikyuu Legends can use their random spins to collect different “Styles” These Styles are based on different characters from the manga and unlock different stats and special abilities you can deploy in-game There are 4 rarities of Styles in Haikyuu Legends: Common the odds of collecting each type of Style is 62.5% meaning you’ll really have to beat the odds to land a high-tier Style so of course you can spend Robux on “Lucky Spins” which remove Common Styles from the pool and boost the odds of Rare You can get a few free Lucky Spins from our Haikyuu Legends codes page so you know what you’re spinning for here’s a list of every Style currently in Haikyuu Legends what character they’re based on and their stats you first need to think about your playstyle Do you like to stay close to the net and block enemy attacks with good Set and Bump to keep the ball alive for their teammates to spike then you can start the game as the basic Hinoto Or finally if you want to be the player who puts the final touch on the ball to score then you need a Style with high Spike like Uchishima No part of this website or its content may be reproduced without the copyright owner's permission VG247 is a registered trademark of Gamer Network Limited only volleyball players can join in on the Boys’ Volleyball Teams Joint Practice but this year everyone is welcome to check it out at Arts Chiyoda 3331 x JUMP SHOP event is being held for the 4th year in a row and it’s loaded with awesome collaborative goods for Haikyu! adenomatous polyposis in whom no APC mutations were found by Sanger sequencing we identified a novel APC mosaicism at a spliced donor site (c.834+2 T>C) in his leukocytes The detection of APC mosaicism using NGS can be useful in providing appropriate genetic counseling and surveillance of at risk family members as well as the proband target resequencing may be of great use when a patient has a typical clinical phenotype of a hereditary disease with a known causative gene mutation but has neither a family history nor any pathogenic alteration detected using Sanger sequencing or the multiple ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) method We explain here how we detected a novel somatic mosaicism in the APC gene in a patient with sporadic FAP using NGS For APC messenger RNA transcription analysis RNA was extracted from proband blood samples with a PAX-gene Blood RNA Kit (QIAGEN Germany) and converted to first-strand complement DNAs using the superscript first-strand synthesis system for reverse transcription (RT)–PCR (Life Technologies RT–PCR was performed using the primer set 5′-AGGTCATTGCTTCTGCTG-3′ and 5′-CCAGAAGTTGCCATGTTGAT-3′ the mutation was potentially capable of resulting in an extended amino acid translation at intron 7 We detected an RT–PCR product using electrophoresis that was transcribed into an aberrant mRNA with intron 7 (e) Direct sequencing followed by TA cloning revealed that the c.834+2T>C mutation induced aberrant transcription and produced a truncated APC protein the zygote forms three germ layers: the ectoderm Because peripheral blood originates from the mesoderm and the colonic mucosa originates from the endoderm the mutational event in the proband must have occurred at least before the separation of these two layers we speculated that the mutation in our case occurred at an early stage of segmentation since all the germ layers form at almost the same early stage (~3 weeks) of embryonic development although we did not test the APC mutation rate of the germ cells (sperm) the recurrence risk for the proband’s children may be low (<50%) judging from the low APC mutation prevalence in his normal colonic mucosa This information may be useful for the decision-making process of the client if he hopes to have more genetic counseling when he wants a child we identified a novel somatic APC mosaicism in a patient with a mutable allele fraction of 12.7% in his peripheral blood using NGS Because an understanding of the accurate diagnosis of somatic mosaicism for probands with FAP will be of great use for clinical practice such as surveillance and genetic counseling our finding should accelerate the application of NGS in clinical practice Inherited variants of MYH associated with somatic G:C-->T:A one sweet potato flavor contains the same kanji KitKat partnered with a famous pastry chef for this Aomori apple range While peanut KitKat is relatively common abroad The delightful prefecture of Ehime is famous for its abundance of oranges a special orange specific to Japan and widely produced in Ehime so prefectures could have a connection with each other This resulted in 47 KitKat designs for each prefecture all saying “Have a Break” in different ways but luckily there is a sweet strawberry variety for Kyushu Fukushima is sadly known for the 2011 nuclear disaster with ¥10 (about seven percent) from each bag going to the ongoing disaster fund Gifu is the seventh largest prefecture in Japan with a renowned paper and textile-making industry Gunma is home to one of Japan’s only safari Station) for this momiji manju variety It makes for a perfect souvenir after you’ve visited the area Hokkaido is one of the most popular prefectures in Japan with so many collaborations from milk prefecture, known for its wagashi (Japanese sweets) This cherry blossom flavor fits the bill nicely Iwaizumi Yogurt is known for its delicious KitKat tried to recreate this back in 2016 with a fundraiser pack for victims of the earthquake the same year Kagawa is known for its art islands and proximity to the Seto Inland Sea This pack is Seto Inland Sea salt and lemon flavor Kagoshima is 2022 in conjunction with Kumamoto Castle black sugared donut flavor coated with white chocolate As Japan’s premier tourist destination it is no surprise that Kyoto has a plethora of KitKat collaborations We’ve plumped for the Uji roasted green tea variety here A little different from your standard green tea within Kansai and known across the country for the famous shrine The capital of Miyagi is Sendai picturesque city that’s known for zunda Miyazaki is located on the southeastern coast of Kyushu It produces the most incredible mangoes called sun eggs The beautiful prefecture of raspberries in Japan are comparatively rare Okinawa must be up there with the most KitKat collaborations most famously the purple sweet potato variety Osaka Prefecture is Kyoto Prefecture’s grumpy uncle, known for its wild, friendly locals and okonomiyaki, which alas do not lend themselves to KitKat flavor pairings. Instead, we’ve chosen Uji matcha Saga is known for its ceramics and great seafood mandarins and strawberries are also famous Saitama Prefecture is known for its proximity to Tokyo and is a great destination for cherry blossom viewing in less crowded areas than the capital Can you spot the tiny Moomin-like character on the front of this mint-flavored pack Shiga Prefecture is the location of Lake Biwa The prefecture is so proud of the blue color of the lake it sells many things in blue including blue curry and blue rice Shimane Prefecture is known for its yaki-manju a baked version of the traditional manju snack we have KitKat’s bakeable version for Shimane One of the most infamous KitKat flavors in Japan…Shizuoka Prefecture is known for its wasabi Japan is very particular about the region its fruit comes from many people will have their own favorite areas for each type of fruit an overwhelming number agree that strawberries from Tochigi Prefecture are the finest Tokushima Prefecture is best known for its Awa-dori dance which attracts hundreds of thousands of dancers during the obon holiday in mid-August This period also happens to be peach season the area with the most collaborations is Tokyo From rum and raisin through to all types of alcohol Tokyo is popular with tourists and KitKat lovers alike Its most enduring collaboration must be with Tokyo Banana We’ve taken a little creative licensing with this one The whisky barrel-aged edition was available in limited places Toyama is known as the city of wakame because they consume so much Wakayama produces delicious plums that are perfect for Japanese plum wine KitKat brought out a Japanese plum wine flavor one this year Yamagata Prefecture is said to have the best cherries. And it just so happens that Mount Fuji is (partly) in Yamanashi Prefecture This is currently on sale in many stores in Japan as of October 2022 will please even the most demanding of palettes Each prefecture from Aomori to Shizuoka can claim to have its own funky type of KitKat 8 that in the event of a huge earthquake along the Japan Trench or the Chishima Trench it will issue an alert warning of the potential for follow-up earthquakes The government calls them “subsequent earthquakes,” a term coined to differentiate them from the weaker aftershocks typically felt after a big quake The new alert is part of the government’s preparations for a possible magnitude-9 earthquake that may strike one day which experts estimate could cause as many as 200,000 deaths the alert will urge residents in affected areas to take stronger disaster-prevention measures for a week due to a risk of subsequent earthquakes with an epicenter in or around Hokkaido or off the Sanriku Coast the Japan Meteorological Agency and the Cabinet Office will hold a joint news conference two hours after the quake and issue an alert on the ground that the possibility of subsequent earthquakes is higher than usual Municipal governments will then notify their residents through available media municipal governments in Pacific coastal areas from Hokkaido to Chiba Prefecture will be asked to strengthen their disaster-prevention measures These areas could face the risk of tsunami 3 meters or even taller and a quake with seismic intensity of 6 or more Residents in the affected areas would be asked to prepare to evacuate the area immediately once a tsunami alert is issued such as checking evacuation routes and packing emergency items to carry with them But issuing the alert would not necessarily mean that a big quake would follow Trains would not be asked to suspend their operations and businesses would not be asked to close Residents would be asked to make their preparations as they carry out their normal lives as usual Major quakes have frequently struck the area along the Japan Trench and Chishima Trench in the past That includes the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake The notion that a new alert is needed was driven by some grim projections if a magnitude-9 quake hits the Japan Trench in winter late at night it projected that 100,000 people would die In addition to the damage caused by tsunami many people living in cold weather regions would also likely die from hypothermia But if disaster-prevention awareness is improved and more people evacuate to safety early on the total number of deaths would be reduced to 47,000 from a Japan Trench quake and 44,000 from one in the Chishima Trench If people make use of buildings designated as emergency evacuation shelters in the event of a disaster like this experts project deaths would be reduced by a staggering 80 percent The central government said the likelihood of a huge earthquake occurring in the Chishima Trench in the next 30 years ranges between 7 and 40 percent so it sees the need to strengthen preventative measures as an urgent matter But it is incredibly rare for such subsequent earthquakes to occur within a week of a quake that is magnitude 7 or larger There is only a 1 percent chance of that happening anywhere in the world the central government has zeroed in on the fact that a magnitude-7.3 quake struck off the coast of Sanriku two days before the 2011 quake Not to mention that massive earthquakes can occur in unexpected ways occurs every two years or so in the estimated epicenter area Ocean trench megaquake now seen as a very real threat Northern Japan towns struggle to prepare for event of a megaquake Giant tsunami in distant past offer gloomy picture of fate in store Please activate elderly and a dairy factory in Iwaizumi Town that had both sustained damage from the typhoon the Prime Minister visited an evacuation center and then went to Iwaizumi Town Hall for an exchange of opinions with Mr I want to again express my sincere condolences to everyone who lost their lives in the typhoon I also want to extend my sympathies to the injured as well as to everyone who was affected by this disaster I have visited the areas affected by the disaster here I have seen for myself the great damage done to the important production facilities of factories I felt once again just how tremendous the damage was I also heard compelling stories from people who are being forced to live difficult lives as evacuees and felt a renewed conviction that we must do everything in our power to return people to lives that they can once again live with peace of mind I want to put all of our efforts toward the construction of emergency temporary facilities The restoration of livelihoods is also important I decided to implement special measures for recovery operations related to cultivation facilities for aquatic wildlife and plants I understand that there are a variety of situations related to the state of damage Taking into account the various situations and conditions we will take a flexible position of ‘doing everything that the Government can possibly do,’ and exert every effort for the reconstruction of livelihoods We will exert every effort on that matter as well with a sense of urgency and a focus on putting people’s lives first.” Firefighters carry elderly people on their back to rescue from an isolated area in MinamiFurano bringing heavy rain and mudslides. [Photo/IC] TOKYO - Nine people were killed when floods inundated an old people's home in Japan taking the death toll from a typhoon battering northern parts of the country to at least 11 Police found nine bodies on Wednesday in the nursing home in the town of Iwaizumi in Iwate Prefecture in the north of Japan's main island of Honshu but it was not clear when their home was flooded It was also not clear why people there had not been taken to safety before the storm struck The nursing home is located near a river and was partially buried in mud and debris when the river overflowed its banks We are not sure what preparations the facility had taken," said a prefectural government official who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media The town issued evacuation preparation information on Tuesday morning which is to inform elderly or disabled people who take time to evacuate was not as strong as an evacuation warning Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream the Rail Wars! television anime series in North America The first episode ceiling painting of dragon in Kisho Jinja (weather shrine) that appeared in an important scene of the film Yamamoto said that he happened to see a ceiling painting of dragon in a hall of Hofuku-ji temple in Soja City Okayama Prefecture when he visited the temple for another job As he had been asked to create a ceiling painting for the film he told Director Shinkai about the painting of dragon The ceiling painting in the film was inspired by this painting of the temple Yamamoto was also responsible for the layout which was usually drawn by the director or the supervising animator or the key animator Shinkai told Yamamoto to do several retakes Director Shinkai also asked Yamamoto not to draw the eyes of the dragon too strong Yamamoto struggled to make the eyes gentle not like glaring eyes of dragons painted by Kano school painters but like those of dragons painted by Hasegawa Tohaku he was able to answer the director’s request by slightly adding black Yamamoto also had to rack his brains about the clouds He got an idea from clouds depicted in Chinese paintings and the shapes of clouds at the feet of Fujin and Raijin (wind and thunder gods) statues in Kyoto’s Sanjusangen-do temple and the painting was completed Yamamoto used two different types of paints He first drew with poster paints and put a white acrylic paint on top of them the picture looked like a digital image when it was shown in different angles by camerawork I think that helped it blend in with the entire film.” pointed out that such linking between artists’ names and their signature depictions were often seen in the history of Japanese animations Yamamoto recollected a memorable episode with Director Hayao Miyazaki about cumulonimbus called “dragon nest” appearing in Castle in the Sky The cumulonimbus appeared in the scene from a moonlit night till dawn Yamamoto pointed out that cumulonimbus would collapse in the night A typhoon is approaching and it is animation.” The scenes were thus created adding that cumulonimbus now does form in the night just as depicted in the film due to the recent climate change Yamamoto often goes out to take photographs because he wants to feel the temperature He combines them with the photographs and incorporate them into the production When he was working on Princess Mononoke (1997) Iwaizumi noted that this way of composing background art for animations is similar to the technique of Chinese landscape painting which combines actual landscapes of various regions to depict a foreign land He also said that painting styles could differ according to environment even by the same painters Northern Song paintings tend to be sharply defined due to low humidity Southern Song paintings are blurred due to high humidity Yamamoto looked back on his six-month stay in Los Angeles as rays of light shone through crisp and dry air white buildings looked yellow and their shadows blue The talk moved onto how to draw clouds in animations he draws different types and shapes of clouds depending on seasons and scenes “Cirrocumulus in late summer or early autumn is particularly difficult,” he said Iwaizumi said that stories of many animations seemed to take place in summer “Most of animation audience are middle and high school students many animations depict typical boy-meets-girl stories I suppose summer is somehow exhilarating and there are summer holidays.” Digressing from clouds and skies for a moment especially a scene from Whisper of the Heart (1995) in the winter background created by Yamamoto where the protagonist was slurping hot pot udon noodles with a friend’s grandfather warming themselves in a room Iwaizumi mentioned that clouds and skies vary by time of day Yamamoto said he draws sunrise and sunset differently They are similar in color but slightly different in tone Yamamoto renders a sunset sky in smoggy color as the air is stale in the evening He draws a sunrise sky in clear color as most of people are asleep during the night and the morning air is crisp and clear “Sunsets in big cities are completely different from those in my hometown Yamamoto also differentiated skies even at the same time of day according to the characters’ feelings The typical examples he cited were two sunsets from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time In the scene where the protagonist was cheerful he painted the sunset using a technique called dry brush that he learned in the United States applied white paint as highlights using sakuyo-fude (a very fine brush for Nihonga Japanese painting) and blurred with dry karabake (a wide brush for Nihonga) An airbrush was normally used to spray paint but some art staff members in the United States thought that would make the picture powdery and smoky and create an ominous atmosphere They therefore developed the dry brush technique water was sprayed with airbrush to moisten the paper partly paint was applied to the moistened area with a brush and the outline was blurred Yamamoto learned about this technique when he was in the United States and began to use it in his production In the scene where the protagonist was tearful he painted in the traditional method and finished with karabake He tried to create an embracing and soothing atmosphere Yamamoto drew the sea of Iki he visited recently He first applied water to the paper on both sides using a brush hira-fude (flat brush) for watercolor and karabake used for Nihonga He also demonstrated a drawing technique using a ruler when shading the clouds He completed the picture in about one hour while he was talking about various techniques and “100 landscapes of Goto,” his lifework to draw 100 paintings of Goto This talk session showed that there are tremendous variations in the way clouds and skies are depicted I could imagine Yamamoto working on each scene while staying considerate towards the story It was amazing to see the process of creating a vivid depiction of a beach in the summer sun with clouds floating over the horizon only in one-hour demonstration such as a folksy old town of Osaka in Downtown Story: The Movie (1981) towns in flames by an air raid in Grave of the Fireflies (1988) and the mystical forest of Shishigami All of those scenes must have been created after careful deliberation about the stories and the characters’ feelings It offered a rare glimpse of the world of background art which tends to attract less attention than characters Bermuda reinsurer PartnerRe yesterday revealed that it expects to book $169 million in catastrophe losses in its third-quarter For some people, the most fun thing about anime fandoms is shipping. If you enjoy imagining your favorite characters falling in love, Haikyuu!! is a great choice. Though there are few canon couples there are a wide range of popular Haikyuu! ships that have fans producing endless amounts of art we'll be counting down some of the best Haikyuu! From popular couples who are on most people's top 10 best Haikyuu! ships lists to slightly more obscure ships Iwaizumi x Oikawa and Akaashi x Bokuto are hands down one of the most popular pairings in Haikyu! and Lev x Yaku are less popular among the fanbase Take a look below and vote for your favorite Haikyuu! Akaashi and Bokuto's relationship is one of the most popular ships in the fandom Akaashi understands Bokuto better than anyone else does Bokuto is easily dejected when things don't go as he expects them to The rest of his team tends to ignore him or get irritated when Bokuto gets moody Akaashi actually tries to figure out what might lift his spirits he's also incredibly perceptive and is often able to figure it out. While Bokuto might not be as intuitive about Akaashi his genuine enthusiasm and excitement for volleyball and other aspects of life is something that Akaashi finds truly valuable. Can love bloom between two people who are constantly calling each other nasty names but they've been close friends since they were kids They're consistent sources of support for each other When Oikawa needs to rely on his team more The two have great respect for one another as teammates It's not hard to imagine those deep feelings evolving into love. it's hard to deny that Kageyama and Hinata's relationship is at the core of Haikyuu!!. The two of them began their relationship as rivals they constantly strove to surpass each other this got in the way of working together - they were prone to shouting matches and even physical fights the combinations they came up with together proved integral to their team's strategy They saw each other as both friends and indispensable partners - with a lot of ups and downs in the process The development of their relationship over time is part of what makes it so great If you love the childhood friends-to-lovers trope While these two were growing up together, Kuroo taught Kenma how to play volleyball since he disliked having to work so hard for something he was only half-heartedly interested in But as he began to experience the joys volleyball had to offer Another important element of their relationship is Kuroo's protectiveness - he knows Kenma has issues with both anxiety and stamina so he's always looking out to make sure that he's doing okay While the fandom does ship Tsukishima and Yamaguchi with other people their relationship is the most popular one for either character by far when Tsukishima stands up for Yamaguchi when he's being bullied Yamaguchi follows Tsukishima around like a puppy and defers to him constantly - but as their relationship evolves When Tsukishima gets so pessimistic that he refuses to try hard at volleyball Yamaguchi is the one who persuades him to put in effort Yamaguchi might love Tsukki to the point of practically worshipping him Tsukishima makes it clear that Yamaguchi is much more talented than he thinks he is That's why it's a healthy relationship - it's not one where one person dominates another it's one where they both help each other be better. Daichi and Sugawara are shipped by a large portion of the fandom Both of them are third years who have been through a lot of ups and downs with their team they've been able to stay relaxed and cheerful The two haven't had any dramatic or life-changing moments together but it's their stability and reliability that makes them stand out Rowan Blake is a contributing writer for Ranker who specializes in writing about the vibrant world of anime His lists explore topics like supernatural series and intriguing character personality analyses Rowan's favorite shows include Naruto and One Piece he collects rare manga and anime collectibles He is especially interested in Studio Ghibli films and the evolution of anime character archetypes Vote for the Haikyuu!! characters who are most like their MBTI personality types 2025 36 itemsRanked By2.8K votes414 votersVoting RulesVote for the Haikyuu!! characters who are most like their MBTI personality types are well-acquainted with the dynamic personalities that bring the series to life each character adding their unique flavor to the thrilling volleyball matches The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) provide an intriguing lens through which to understand these beloved characters shedding light on what drives their actions both on and off the court The series' lovable protagonist Shoyo Hinata embodies the vibrant and spontaneous energy of an ESFP with his infectious enthusiasm and relentless drive to improve effortlessly rallies his team and captivates audiences with his charismatic leadership and strategic acumen often serving as the unsung genius behind Nekoma's success Explore the MBTI types of other popular Haikyuu! characters and see how they enhance your understanding of their personalities INTP (The Logician) - Kenma is a setter for the Nekoma boys volleyball team Although it seems at first that he doesn't care much for volleyball it is shown that he does find the sport fun and is a key player of the Nekoma team due to his strategical thinking He is known for being a friend to Karasuno's wing spiker Hinata ENTP (The Debater) – Kuro is the captain and middle blocker of the Nekoma boys volleyball team He has always had a love of volleyball and has consistently played both for fun and competitively from a young age He is the reason why his friend Kenma developed a passion for the sport and helped Karasuno's Tsukishima to improve his own skills at blocking ESFP (The Entertainer) – Nishinoya is the star libero on the Karasuno boys volleyball team Despite his short height he is a key member of the team and has initiated many plays that were essential to Karasuno's success INFJ (The Advocate) – Sugawara is the vice-captain of the Karasuno boys volleyball team He is also a setter and pinch server on the team ESFP (The Entertainer) – Hinata is a spiker and blocker on the Karasuno boys volleyball team As a child he saw a member of the Karasuno team called Small Giant who was the star player despite his small stature He was inspired to pursue the same sport and school so he could achieve the same things INFP (The Mediator) – Yamaguchi is a middle blocker and a pinch server on the Karasuno boys volleyball team He is a close friend of Tsukishima's although Tsukishima seems annoyed by him half the time Although he doesn't have immense volleyball talent as compared to the other first-years he cares about the sport and later becomes captain of the team I’ve been waiting for him to make an appearance for months the flashback in Haikyuu chapter 395 is from five years ago meaning that the Iwaizumi we see in “The Lucky Ones Part 2” is almost the Iwaizumi from the first part of the manga I’m curious about what everyone was doing during the years we didn’t get to see and I’m just happy that at last we’ve got a lead on what he chose to do with his life And can I just say I love that he chose to go into sports science considering how many fics I’ve read where he does that “The Lucky Ones Part 2” has a focus on Ushijima but it also highlights one of the great things about Haikyuu!! This series makes you care about all of the characters – even the main team’s rivals – and it displays a level of sportsmanship and camaraderie that we all should strive to achieve Iwaizumi and Ushijima meet up in California only about one year after Aoba Josai’s crushing defeat at the hands of Shiratorizawa – again But this doesn’t color the way the two interact at all; in fact Iwaizumi is thrilled to see someone he knows Now they’re united by a shared love of the sport that defines their high school experience elevates themselves by pushing others down there are a few teams that use underhanded tactics to get an advantage but the majority of the players seek to better themselves and their opponents isn’t it more satisfying to beat a good team than a mediocre one That is the crux of Haikyuu chapter 395 a powerhouse player from a powerhouse high school is suffering defeat on the national stage and irked by it He’s trying out some new moves because his old standby of just having a cannon for an arm isn’t working as well in a professional league – even if he is a southpaw I choked up just a little with that last panel of Ushijima thanking his father for protecting his left-handedness.) Iwaizumi shows him some clips to help motivate him seeing the guy who repeatedly beat you get his butt kicked is a little demoralizing This is just one more example in a long line of Haikyuu! characters helping rivals improve – like Bokuto mentoring Hinata It’s also a perfect example of “big fish where a person who is the best at something in high school goes to the next stage and realizes that they aren’t so special anymore For almost the first 200 chapters of the manga He’s very stoic and intimidating (read: awkward) and gives off the impression of being cold and emotionless so it was actually quite nice to see him genuinely humbled by his inability to make waves internationally despite being one of Japan’s top players “The Lucky Ones Part 2” did a better job of humanizing him than probably any other depiction of him up to this point This chapter also marks the return of Tendo (although the official translation got his first name wrong – I don’t know a “Satoshi”) but many people have been anxiously waiting for him to pop up I gather they didn’t anticipate the loss of his iconic hair I do find it odd that he is the only character My only concern is how quickly it seems the end is approaching We’re already almost done with the third set and I just don’t want this match to end Have you read Haikyuu chapter 395 Become a Sponsor on Patreon! The official Shonen Jump+ website has revealed that a new Haikyuu spinoff manga will debut in the magazine on May 13 and is described as a “high-tension club activities comedy” that will focus on the rival schools featured in Haruichi Furudate’s original story There is precious little news about Haikyubu! so far other than the brief description and the associated preview image Considering the manga is being drawn by a different artist it is unknown the extent Furudate-sensei will be involved in the project While VIZ Media simulpublishes the current manga on the same day it’s released in Japan there’s no mention of whether or not VIZ Media will be publishing the spinoff Pictured in the image are Oikawa and Iwaizumi from Aoba Josai It stands to reason that those three schools at least will be a part of the new Haikyuu spinoff Oikawa and Iwaizumi are my lock and home screens on my phone so I fully support any and all opportunities to see them in action again And my love for Bokuto and Akaashi knows no bounds so learning more about them will be amazing But I hope we can expect to see some of the other rival school as well especially those who didn’t get as much development in the original manga due to the length of the matches I would love to see more about Kukagawa’s giant first year Hyakuzawa As for Haikyuu!! season 4 we’ve got less than five months until the kickoff event when we’ll hopefully get an official trailer and release date The Haikyuu spinoff launches in just a couple of weeks What schools or characters are you most excited to see By Epic Dope Staff No Comments on Top 10 & Most Skilled Wing Spikers In Haikyu!! whenever I see the completed status of the manga and I keep rereading the chapters for the nth time. While rereading them I realized that we never got the answer to who exactly is the most skilled spiker and even if I aspire to be as badass as them I know it’s pretty unrealistic for me; that’s the reason why I have always loved spikers I thought its high time I appreciate my favorite position and made a list of Top 10 spikers in Haikyu! Is it our precious Hinata Shoyo or someone amongst the top three aces of the nation? Izuru Nozawa is the Wing Spiker of Kamomedai High not much is known about Izuru as an individual but it’s for a matter of the fact that he is proficient in spiking and receiving His technique and game sense are great; moreover Hajime Iwaizumi or more popularly known as Iwa-chan is Aobajōsai High’s ace and wing spiker Ask the BL readers; you will find at least five people out of ten who have read a doujinshi featuring Iwa-chan; my man is quite popular One needs a level-headed person to be around a chaotic bunch like Toru Oikawa which is why Iwa-chan is Oikawa’s childhood best friend and ‘pillar.’ Due to his dependable personality Oikawa is seen setting to Iwaizumi whenever he feels that he’s in a pinch Iwa-chan is also flexible enough to make unfavorable components advantageous Hinata Shoyo has time and time proven that ‘short people got the real game.’ all of us can agree that Hinata is one of a kind starting from zero basics of volleyball to participating in the national level that It’s just out there to surprise everyone Hinata deserves his titleーthe Ultimate Decoy You never know what he might pull off; he’s that unpredictable which is why the current Hinata has not reached the level required to beat the five aces Takeru Nakashima and Hinata belong to the same fanboy group as both of them idolize the Little Giant Takeru was the captain of the Wakutani Minami during his third year in high school League Division 3 team Kiniro Sports Jumper in the manga after the time skip period Takeru’s gameplay is similar to the Little Giant; he can instantly change the angle at which he hits his spike Even if Hinata cannot be the next Little Giant Hoshiumi is considered the closest person to become the next Little Giant Hoshiumi’s short stature doesn’t stop him from beating his opponents He is Kamomedai High’s ace and outside hitter His jumps are high enough to get past blockers who are comparatively taller than him and setting make him an exceptional all-rounder this man doesn’t get the hype and respect that he honestly deserves Aran needs to be given special treatment just for dealing with the Miya twins and my man is sick and tired of their chaotic energy Only anime gods know how he hasn’t lost his cool yet Aran is also amongst the elite group in Volleyball sport He can easily spike above a three-person block Bokuto screams more shounen protagonist than any shounen protagonist Bokuto barely misses the criteria to be acknowledged as the top three aces in the nation Bokuto could be as strong as the top three aces as he is a top-notch all-rounder player. Most of his teammates are annoyed or envy his insane stamina level and Bokuto utilizes his athletic abilities to defend or offend depending on the circumstances Bokuto has mastered his straight shot that often hits the edge line Ushijima is the type of genius that Oikawa would hate; he was the number one ace in Miyagi Prefecture and ranked among the country’s top three aces at the time His strength lies in physicality that makes his spikes powerful His straightforwardness makes him a unique rival; Ushijjma wouldn’t play brain games or anything He has reached this point with sheer hard work and talent I would say Wakatoshi Ushijima is underrated and one of the elite characters in Haikyuu and probably that’s the reason why he takes sarcasm and jokes literally Wakatsu Kiryuu screams home to me; his self-doubting traits are genuinely relatable he is one of the nation’s top three aces and captain of the Mujinazaka High team But what makes him reliable is his sense of responsibility Kiryuu never lets his underconfidence control his growth Kiryuu’s core strength relies on his legs His spikes are considered to rival Ushijjma in power enabling his hit to pass through a three-person block easily Kiryuu is proficient in jump serve and receiving Clean Freak who might steal your lover’ would be here when you read the title of this list the entire fandom became a simp for him (including me he is cute) Sakusa is amongst the top three aces of Japan and I’m not the one saying that it’s Motoya Komori; he stated that Sakusa had no weak points Due to his special condition—hypermobility Sakusa has abnormally flexible wrists that enable his spikes to spin like crazy Since the ball would generally ricochet wildly and his fantastic game sense makes him a formidable opponent Our talented team of Freelance writers - Always on the lookout - pour their energies into a wide range of topics bringing to our audience what they crave - fun up-to-date news All content cited is derived from their respective sources. What’s the most crucial part of a volleyball team If Karasuno’s revived side is anything to go by it’s all of these players working in cohesion that’s vital to any team Every team relies on the ace to get the ball across the net while the ace relies on the rest to keep the ball moving the ace is one who inspires their allies; secondly they should hit any ball to their utmost ability!’ An ace is more than just their skills and physique and how reliable they are as the team’s primary attacking force (I’ve made this list considering only the aces we’ve come across till before the time skip that follows the Spring Finals is based on the level they’ve attained by the end of the manga) Date Tech’s easy-going ace Futakuchi might be an average ace at best handling the juniors and keeping the team together Despite admitting he used to be quite the handful Futakuchi still believes there is such a thing as ‘too serious.’ However he still takes responsibility when guiding the newbie setter Koganegawa which makes for some hilarious interactions between the two Wakutani Minami High School’s volleyball team might not have stood out much during the series Nakashima is not only the team captain but also an excellent ace Nakashima too was inspired by watching the Little Giant on television Despite Karasuno’s reputation by the Spring High Preliminaries Nakashima wasn’t intimidated in the slightest he was excited to face a team as unpredictable as them and didn’t miss a beat assuring his team they would win The vice-captain and ace of Aobajohsai’s volleyball team hasn’t had enough screen-time to leave an impression on viewers considering Seijoh’s reputation as one of the top teams in the prefecture Iwaizumi is nothing short of a reliable spiker Iwaizumi’s confidence and resolve shone most when he scored the final point against Dateko– smashing through Koganegawa’s block and simultaneously winning the game for Seijoh he made sure Oikawa focused on the game at hand rather than worry about the possible upcoming one against Shiratorizawa Iwa-chan often keeps Oikawa’s antics in check while also making sure the setter takes care of himself Hoshiumi is the spear of Kamomedai’s defense-focused team Hoshiumi stayed under the radar for much of his high school years Hoshiumi may lack power due to his small stature but he more than makes up for it with his speed His strongest suit is his ability as an all-rounder able to spike receive or set the ball when the time calls for it Hoshiumi’s reputation and skill skyrocketed– He seemed to spike the ball through even the tiniest of seams against the Adlers with the same perfect form to fool blockers since high school Hoshiumi may not overtly reassure his teammates but being the versatile player he is his presence on the court is a reassuring one Aran Ojiro may not possess a quirky trait that sets him apart from the rest on this list but the Inarizaki ace has all the essential qualities of an ace when it comes down to it and power– Aran has everything one could desire in a hitter not to forget excellent floor defense skills So it isn’t hard to see why he posed such a significant threat in the match against Karasuno Aran also gives off a sense of excellent stability as a spiker He’s shown the ability to stay focused on what he needs to do and make sure he’s able to spike the ball if it comes his way He spends much of his time close to the net instead of scrambling around trying to do everything Aran was sadly overshadowed by the Miya Twins which is a shame since he’s definitely among the top spikers of the series Despite having power that outclasses all the spikers on this list so far and an intimidating jump serve to go with it Asahi’s been held back by himself for most of the series His performance fluctuated earlier in the series as he struggled with anxiety and self-esteem issues Asahi finally proved his worth as an ace of high caliber smashed through even three-man blocks through sheer brute force or even feints if the situation called for it Asahi always plays the entire game and is usually the first to benefit from Hinata acting as a decoy As with much of Mujinazaka’s players Kiryu stands out due to his athleticism and has earned himself the reputation as one of the top aces in the country Together with being freakishly strong and having a powerful spike Kiryu too tends to crumble under the pressure of being the ace very often which might leak into his image of being unreliable Kiryu shouldered the offensive burden of Mujinazaka Kiryu didn’t have the best team surrounding him but still managed to stand out as one of the best aces and carry his team to the Nationals one of the best all-rounder players of the series Although his power isn’t on par with that of Ushijima Sakusa more than makes up for it by putting a nasty spin on both his spikes and serves Sakusa excels at receiving– particularly bumping serves which makes him reliable both at the front and back of the court While Sakusa’s abnormally flexible wrists give him an edge while spiking and serving hypermobility can also be a considerable liability in sports which is possibly why Sakusa is the careful germaphobe we all know him as It would have taken a large amount of discipline Bokuto is the embodiment of an ace purely because of how he inspires his team and others like Hinata Although his spikes might not be as powerful as Ushijima Bokuto’s strongest suit is definitely his ability to manipulate angles and spike balls through even small seams and gaps it’s not hard to see why the Fukurodani ace is unstoppable when he’s on top of his game check out this cool Reddit post of what Bokuto’s cut shot looks like in real life!) Although he struggled with consistency in high school Bokuto’s demeanor improved significantly to a more permanently optimistic one following the Spring Nationals Bokuto’s antics often forced the rest of the Fukurodani team to stay focused and keep it together and consistency easily set him apart as the best ace in Haikyuu Ushijima’s left-handedness further gives him an edge over opponents by making his serves and spikes insanely challenging to receive It’s a no-brainer that Ushijima was among the top three aces in the country in high school– the man is literally unstoppable as a teen and only gets better after the time skip Not only does he score nearly half his team’s points but he’s also mentally tough and collected Ushijima is easily the most reliable ace in the entire series and can always be counted on to hit the ball with all he’s got is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate Its publication in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump began in February 2012 with 42 collected tankōbon volumes released Hinata Shoyo is a highly passionate boy who wishes to follow the steps of his idol ‘The Little Giant’ in the field of volleyball Hinata’s resolve is unbreakable as he faces gruesome defeat at the hands of the ‘King of the Court,’ a genius prodigy setter Kageyama Tobio in middle school Hinata’s dreams take fruit as he enters high school He joins the declining volleyball team of Karasuno High and is appalled to find the very same Kageyama as his teammate The story follows the revival of Karasuno High and the unity they maintain to pave their way for nationals All content cited is derived from their respective sources.
