As Yanic Konan Niederhauser weighs his options
he'll have a chance to showcase his talents in front of NBA personnel
Penn State basketball's starting center was one of 44 players invited to the 2025 NBA G League Elite Camp
which will take place from May 9-11 in Chicago
Players invited to the elite camp will participate in strength and agility drills
select draft-eligible players from the 44 attendees will be invited to compete in the NBA Combine
started their journeys grinding at the camp
it's essentially a no-lose situation for the Swiss big man
who holds the cards with his ability to return to Penn State
If Konan Niederhauser does well at the G League Elite Camp
he could receive the positive feedback he needs to keep his name in the draft and turn pro
The best-case scenario for him would be to earn an invite to the NBA Combine
which would surely establish his new position as an upper-level prospect
or at least doesn't like the feedback he gets about his stock
where he would be a clear cornerstone and anchor for Mike Rhoades and the Nittany Lions as a senior
He'd likely start the year as one of the more sought-after prospects from the college ranks with the strong chance of improving it with his play in a high-major conference
Either path works for Konan Niederhauser as it hopefully ends in a place that's best for his career
'He's doing a great job': Penn State AD Pat Kraft voices support of Mike Rhoades
Given Penn State's current roster situation
Konan Niederhauser's decision to stay or go will be course-altering for the Nittany Lions
Rhoades will have his defensive anchor and centerpiece with experience to build a competitive team next season
There's still a lot of holes in the roster to fill - even with his return
But they'd at least have a reliable interior presence
it makes an already bleak situation even more so
With both Miles Goodman and Kachi Nzeh gone via the transfer portal
Rhoades will have to work some serious magic ahead of the 2025-26 season
Rising Penn State senior center Yanic Konan Niederhauser has taken another step in his NBA Draft journey according to a new report. Per Jon Chepkovich
the 7-footer is among a group of players to be selected to the G League Elite Camp
The camp is set to run from May 9-11 in Chicago with details on it’s significance. From the NBA:
“It is a two-day event that gives NBA Draft prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The athletes will participate separately in five-on-five games and strength and agility drills.
“A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine later on in the week based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp.”
Konan Niederhauser declared for the NBA Draft on April 2, maintaining his eligibility to return to college basketball for a fourth and final year in 2025.

Penn State's 7-foot forward whodeclared for the 2025 NBA Draft
has been invited to the upcoming NBA G League Elite Camp
The May 9-11 showcase in Chicago gives draft-eligible players a chance to perform in front of NBA personnel and perhaps earn an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine
Niederhauser is among a group of 44 players invited to the G League Elite Camp, according to USA Today Sports' Michael Scotto
Niederhauser was not invited to the combine but could earn a spot through the G League Elite Camp
Sources: The 2025 NBA G League Elite Camp list has been unveiled below. A select number of standout players from this event will also be invited to participate in the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. pic.twitter.com/ILTGJZrJ85
According to the G League
invitees to the elite camp will conduct drills and play in 5-on-5 games in front of NBA personnel
A select group of high-performers at the G League Elite Camp will earn invitations to the NBA Draft Combine
the premier showcase ahead of the NBA Draft
Niederhauser's performance at the G League Elite Camp will inform his decision about next season
In April, Niederhauser announced his intent to enter the NBA Draft but with a caveat: If he returns to play another season of college basketball
Niederhauser said he would do so for Penn State
That's significant for the Nittany Lions
who are rebuilding their roster for the 2025-26 season
I've decided to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft," Niederhauser wrote in a social media post
In case I decide to withdraw from the draft
I will return to Penn State for my Senior year
I'm excited to see what the future holds!"
Niederhauser is among Penn State's most important returning players
He averaged 12.9 points per game (second on the team) and led the Nittany Lions in rebounds (6.3 per game) and blocks (67)
He also ranked fourth in minutes per game (25.1)
"He’s very coachable," Penn State coach Rhoades said of Niederhauser after the regular season ended
He’s a guy who took great advantage of that throughout the summer and preseason
He had ability; we all saw that from day one
But I just think he picked the right place [in Penn State] that could utilize his skillset
the style of play and being a versatile big guy
His approach from being here from June of last year is a reason why he’s turned into the player at this level that he has
and I think he’s hungry to do it even to a higher level
The deadline for players to withdraw their names from draft eligibility is June 15

WASHINGTON – A landlord in Texas believes postal workers refused to deliver mail to her properties because she’s Black
causing some tenants to move out and others to miss bills
despite legal protections for the Postal Service for mail delivery problems
The case centers on immunity protections for the U.S
Postal Service for claims “arising out of the loss
or negligent transmission of letters or postal matter.”
Circuit Court of Appeals said that doesn’t cover a postal worker's refusal to deliver the mail
which is the heart of landlord Lebene Konan’s suit
Konan says postal workers withheld mail to some of her tenants because they did not like the idea of a Black landlord renting to white people
Konan said she submitted more than 50 complaints to the Postal Service before going to court
but the appeals court said the terms “loss,” “miscarriage” and “negligent transmission” don’t apply to Konan’s complaint
There can be no “miscarriage,” the appeals court said
That’s a different interpretation than three other appeals courts have used
And the Justice Department argues the ruling would allow someone to sue anytime their mail isn’t delivered on time
as long as they claim the delay was intentional
“Congress enacted the postal exception specifically to protect the critical function of mail deliver from such disruptive litigation,” the government’s lawyers told the court
Konan’s lawyers say refusal-to-deliver cases are rare
and allowing her lawsuit to continue would not cripple the Postal Service
The case is expected to be argued this fall

Penn State center Yanic Konan Niederhauser, a dominant 7-foot force who broke out for the Nittany Lions this past season, will test the professional waters this spring. Niederhauser has declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his one remaining year of collegiate eligibility, he announced on Instagram on Wednesday

who led the Big Ten with 2.3 blocks per game after transferring from Northern Illinois last offseason
averaged 12.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game across the 2024-25 season
His potential departure could leave Mike Rhoades scrambling for a veteran centerpiece to build around
If Niederhauser ultimately sticks with the NBA Draft route
he would become the ninth player to depart the Nittany Lions this offseason
Puff Johnson and Zach Hicks are all out of eligibility
Niederhauser would leave just four scholarship players from last year’s team on roster: Freddie Dilione V
Penn State is set to welcome three freshmen — Kayden Mingo
Mason Blackwood and Justin Houser — this summer
What should be promising for Rhoades is that Niederhauser has stated his intent to return to the Nittany Lions
if he doesn’t find a fit in this year’s draft
This was a topic of concern surrounding Niederhauser
who was a revelation in an otherwise disappointing season for Penn State
which finished the year with a 16-15 record
it’s just not recruiting guys that are out there
It’s having great conversations with your players on making sure
But you gotta control what you can control.”

The NBA officially announced that 106 players have filed as early entry candidates for the 2025 NBA Draft, which is held in late June
Penn State basketball fans will notice of their own among the candidates: center Yanic Konan Niederhauser
The 6-foot-11 big man from Switzerland announced his intentions to enter the draft at the start of April
6.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks on 61% shooting from the field for Mike Rhoades during his junior season
He's received a lot of positive buzz around his pro potential and is considered one of the more underrated prospects
Players that enter the NBA Draft early do not give up their eligibility
in order to retain college basketball eligibility
college players who have entered the NBA Draft 2025 must withdraw by Wednesday
That gives Niederhauser about a month to talk to NBA team personnel and determine whether or not it's a good idea to turn pro
The month also includes the NBA Draft Combine
If Niederhauser's Instagram post is any indication
he's approaching the draft process with an open mind
Should he impress teams in interviews and during the combine
it's all but certain he'll stay in the draft
But if the current draft projections are any indication
which will be beneficial for his draft stock and for the team's progress in 2025-26
especially after Miles Goodman and Kachi Nzeh both entered the transfer portal
Penn State basketball was missing one of its key pieces during the 69-61 loss to Minnesota: starting center Yanic Konan Niederhauser
The 7-foot junior big man was in a walking boot during the home game against the Golden Gophers
Head coach Mike Rhoades provided an update after the game about the injury sustained during a Sunday practice
Came down on his teammate's foot," Rhoades said
Konan Niederhauser had one of his best performances in the Return to Rec Hall game against Ohio State
where he scored 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting
Rhoades was hoping that momentum would carry into the game against Minnesota
More: Penn State basketball's Mike Rhoades' message: 'Nobody's coming to save us'
sophomore Kachi Nzeh got his first start in a Nittany Lion uniform
where he recorded three rebounds and a block in almost 17 minutes
Miles Goodman also saw some action as the reserve center
but he played the least amount of minutes among Penn State players
seeing the court for a little over 5 minutes
Rhoades elected to go small most of the game
with Zach Hicks operating as the biggest player on the floor at times
while Jahvin Carter and Dominick Stewart both seeing time in an extended guard rotation
Penn State is already missing one starter as Puff Johnson remained out due to a hand injury
And as a team that's on the outside looking in for the Big Ten tournament
losing another key player amidst the team struggling is far from ideal

There’s a big man on campus for Mike Rhoades
Yanic Konan Niederhauser announced he was transferring to Penn State from Northern Illinois last spring
averaged a little over seven points and four rebounds per game in his sophomore season with the Huskies
It was unclear what Rhoades and the Nittany Lions were getting in Konan Niederhauser except for the raw ability and untapped potential seen on film
The junior forward was never the center of discussion over the offseason
but he was expected to be a piece of the puzzle for Penn State to succeed in the Big Ten and throughout the season
the Nittany Lions’ starting big man has been arguably the best player for Penn State to start the season
Konan Niederhauser is averaging 15 points per game on 65.2% shooting in three games — better numbers than from his two years at Northern Illinois
He’s averaging a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game to go along with his offensive dominance
Konan Niederhauser’s offensive game has taken the next step
He hasn’t made a three-point attempt through the game
but the seven-footer can stretch the floor behind the arc
his impact on the court has been felt just as much
or just acting as a big presence inside the paint
opposing offenses have had a hard time neutralizing the Swiss giant
“[Konan Niederhauser] is back there to make a missed shot or block a shot
I thought he did a good job of running some stuff down
Everyone inside the program has said the sky is the limit for Konan Niederhauser
But there is still a lot to learn before Big Ten play begins and the grueling part of the season ramps up
he got in foul trouble early and played only four minutes in the first half
Konan Niederhauser still finished with 11 points and seven rebounds
but it was a learning moment for the new Nittany Lion
In Big Ten play or against tougher non-conference opponents
Rhoades will need Konan Niederhauser to stay out of foul trouble and on the court
Especially with true freshman Miles Goodman still out with an injury
the Nittany Lions are a completely different team
Rhoades knew it last year as he mentioned time after time how important it was to have an impact player in his starting five spots
Rhoades went out and got that player via the transfer portal
“[Konan Niederhauser] has a great feel for the game
He just has a great feel for how to play basketball the right way,” Rhoades said
growing pains will be inevitable for Konan Niederhauser and the Nittany Lions
there is a lot of buzz around what this team could do this year
and experience bodes well in college basketball
How well Penn State does this winter in a revamped Big Ten depends on how well Konan Niederhauser fits as a puzzle piece for Rhoades and his staff

Konan Niederhauser broke out last season after transferring from Northern Illinois
A post shared by Yanic Konan Niederhäuser (@yanic14x)
Good news and potentially bad news arrive at Penn State’s basketball doorstep yet again! Standout center Yanic Konan Niederhauser has declared for the NBA draft
The good news is Niederhauser did not hire an agent

If the feedback he gets from scouts deems another college season necessary
Niederhauser burst into the scene in the 2024-25 season

who is expected to be the centerpiece of Nittany Lions basketball next season
the 7-foot forward who started 29 games for Penn State last season said he plans to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft
Niederhauser said he will return to Penn State for his senior season
Niederhauser made the announcements in social media post
I've decided to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft," Niederhauser wrote in the post
The second part is good news for a Penn State basketball program that loses five seniors and has had three players from its 2024 recruiting class enter the NCAA Transfer Portal
Niederhauser is Penn State's top returning player in terms of minutes
points and rebounds and represents the core of coach Mike Rhoades' 2025 roster
Rhoades signed Niederhauser as a transfer player after the forward spent two seasons at Northern Illinois
Niederhauser made 26 starts during the 2023-24 season
averaging 7.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game
Niederhauser is originally from Switzerland and played with a German professional club team in 2021-22
"You hope when you bring in guys as freshmen
that they have urgency to get better," Rhoades said
"And I just felt really good when we were recruiting Yanic that he wants to get after it and work at it
Niederhauser's decision to return if he withdraws from draft consideration represents a huge offseason victory
The Penn State coach must rebuild another roster in his third season with the program
Rhoades' team also lost senior Puff Johnson to a season-ending injury after 17 games and now must refill a 2024 recruiting class that could lose three of its four players to the portal
Niederhauser and guard Freddie Dilione V are two of the players Rhoades needs to retain most
"He’s very coachable," Rhoades said of Niederhauser after the regular season ended
Niederhauser has some key dates ahead over the next 10 weeks. College players have until April 26 to meet the NBA's deadline for early entry into the draft
The NBA G League Combine is scheduled for May 9-11
and the NBA Draft Combine is set for May 11-18
the early entry withdrawal deadline is June 15
which means Niederhauser can attend the combines and decide his plans by mid-June
Penn State men's basketball coach Mike Rhoades will have quite a bit of work to do in reworking the roster for the 2025-26 season. Alresady with a handful of transfers to replace, Penn State may be in need of a new big man after Yanic Konan Niederhauser declared himself eligible for the upcoming NBA draft
"After careful consideration, I've decided to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft," Niederhauser announced on his Instagram account
Niederhauser also confirmed he will stay at Penn State as a Plan B in the event he takes his name out of the NBA draft pool
I will return to Penn State for my senior year," Niederhauser said
Niederhauser can participate in the NBA scouting combine for further evaluation of his draft prospects
Niederhauser can see that evaluation to make a better decision on whether or not the draft should come calling or if another year in Happy Valley will serve him well
Niederhauser averaged 12.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last season for Penn State
He would certainly be leaving behind some massive shoes to fill on the Penn State roster if the NBA ultimately does come calling

Krept and Konan flourish on the long-awaited follow-up to their Young Kingz mixtape
with an album that benefits from the hard yards and life lessons accrued from the heavyweight UK rap duo
2013’s Young Kingz mixtape was where things really began to take off
The project saw the duo – unsigned at the time – collaborate with the likes of Chip
hour-long flex of their fledgling lyricism
Helped in particular by the success of one of its singles, ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ – which received some transatlantic love via a remix featuring French Montana – the mixtape helped cement the duo’s entrance into the UK rap scene. As the highest-charting mixtape for an unsigned act, it preceded a Best Newcomer award at the MOBOs and
sure enough – sensing commercial opportunity like a shark smelling blood – the industry came calling with a record deal
(The pair have since spoken openly about the issues that stemmed from their contract
which failed to account for the impending streaming era)
with brash lyrics and occasionally clichéd beats
more focussed on the thrill of a good time than on leaving the listener with lasting wisdom
it felt caught between trying to gain underground credentials
and venturing down a similar commercial rap route to one of its guest features
and now the UK heavyweight rap duo – older
Play Dirty – return with the album’s successor
this sequel certainly shows that experience pays
The first notable aspect of Young Kingz II are the solo tracks – two apiece from each of Krept and Konan – as though each of their lives are now simply too grown-up
too complex to occupy the same space on every track
it unfolds like two road rap brothers working side-by-side
with one stepping back whilst the other spits his story
This one-to-one intimacy provides one of the album’s highlights midway through, with Krept addressing his daughter in ‘Nala’s Song’, envisioning her growing up and guiding her in a protective tone reminiscent of Eminem’s ‘Mockingbird’. (A testament to Krept’s evolution, he is now the founder of a multimillion-pound baby skincare line
also aptly named after his daughter: Nala’s Baby)
And whilst Krept pens a letter to his daughter
Konan makes peace with his late father: the Jamaican reggae and ska singer
Despite his claim that “keeping things bottled is a specialty of mine,” ‘Delroy’s Son’ sees Konan open up about his father’s later battles with alcohol (he died of cirrhosis of the liver); about trying to emulate his father’s successes (“Mum told me you performed in Brixton
well I performed in Brixton / Now when she drives past she can think of the both of us”); and taking the reins in supporting his mum
It may not quite have the heights of psychological insight as often penned by Dave, nor the storytelling of an album such as Knucks’ Alpha Place
but there is plenty to sink your ears into here; and to peel back the layers to meet the man behind Krept
‘New Snap City’, meanwhile, enlists longtime associate Chip, who featured on the original Young Kingz, to remind us of the growth of UK rap (“of course I’m fucking proud of the scene and where it’s come to”); whilst ‘Street Therapy’ calls on Potter Payper (who famously missed the release of his debut album owing to a prison sentence) in one of the album’s best features
But Young Kingz II isn’t simply one long introspection
‘Last Night In Kingston’ sees Konan rap over a menacing beat from producer AdotSkitz with the intensity and bravado we’re usually accustomed to in UK rap
and is itself a sequel to Konan’s 2017 freestyle
with some of the record’s most lyrically dexterous bars
as Ghetts jumps on the mic for a spot as similarly raged-fuelled as his venomous Avelino collab ‘VEX’
Young Kings II also pays homage to both Krept and Konan’s Jamaican heritage
with a feature from prolific Jamaican artist Sizzla on ‘Bedroom’ and dancehall star Popcaan on the sensual ‘Smooth Lovin’
A voice recording of Konan’s father adds a further sentimental layer
Krept and Konan clearly have a penchant for such small
Just as Young Kingz began and ended with the same titled track
the album’s sequel begins and ends with ‘Last Cards’ – this time with worldly spoken word segments from actors Damson Idris
It’s these kinds of pearly wisdoms that demonstrate Krept and Konan indeed have more cards to play
with their music having all the more depth and substance as a result of the lessons learned between their 2013 mixtape and now

Penn State forward Yanic Konan Niederhauser will enter the 2025 NBA Draft. However, he will retain his collegiate eligibility. In the event he opts to leave the NBA Draft, Niederhauser has noted that he will return to the Nittany Lions. He wrote on Instagram:
“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft. In the meantime, I will maintain my college eligibility. In case I decide to withdraw from the draft I will return to Penn State for my Senior year. I’m excited to see what the future holds!”
The 7-foot, 250-pound big man had a strong season at Penn State after transferring in from Northern Illinois. In fact, his averages went up considerably despite taking a significant step up in competition.
Konan Niederhauser averaged 12.9 points and 6.3 rebounds during the 2024-25 season. He was also a force on the defensive glass, recording 2.3 blocks per contest. Though he was fairly dreadful from 3-point range at Penn State (1-of-11 this season), he has shown range out to the arc in the past. He is a career 21.6% 3-point shooter, having made 11 in his career.
Penn State fans will be anxiously awaiting Yanic Konan Niederhauser’s decision. If he decides on another year, the Nittany Lions will get a valuable piece back in the frontcourt.
Penn State is in a state of flux right now, like many teams in college basketball. Along with Yanic Konan Niederhauser’s decision, the Nittany Lions are also contending with players hitting the transfer portal. Forward Miles Goodman has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal
He only spent one season with the Nittany Lions
Goodman made 13 appearances for Penn State this season, averaging 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per game. The 6-foot-11 forward had his best game of the season in Penn State’s blowout loss against UCLA on Feb
Miles Goodman played high school basketball at Southern California Academy (CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 99 overall player and No. 16 power forward in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3’s Grant Grubbs also contributed to this report.

“Music is like therapy, innit,” says Konan. “Growing up, we didn’t really have people that we could talk to about our things or situations, so when we can express our emotions through our art, it always comes out in such a beautiful way. I think that’s a big part of why we have built up such a loyal fanbase over the years – because we’re vulnerable and open in our music.”

Music is like therapy, yes, but Konan turned to the real thing in Channel 4’s Untold: Konan – Trapped in Trauma. The 2023 documentary saw the rapper undergo therapy for PTSD from the murder of his stepfather. He had been hesitant at first, but the pandemic convinced him. “I was there on my own going through the Covid period, and I just felt I didn’t feel as happy as I should with everything that I had accomplished, and I needed to get to the root of it,” he says.
Krept was encouraging of his friend’s process (“I was there witnessing certain things that he had to go through, and I know how difficult it was because I saw the effects more than anybody else,” Krept says).
As on stage, Krept and Konan have an easy chemistry. It’s rare they overlap in conversation; instead, each listens patiently to the other before chiming in. It’s a fine-tuned double act, a partnership of equals that is undeniably the product of decades of close friendship. It’s remarkable, really, that they’ve stayed together so long in an industry fraught with egos and money.
There are a number of factors to their longevity: genuine friendship for one, as well as shared goals and morals. “I also think just where we come from… it doesn’t make sense to get famous and then fall out over something that we never would’ve had without each other anyway. We’re both very logical that way,” says Krept. “And the plan was always to get big together anyway.”
We've had to unlearn certain behaviour from growing up on the road
“The only thing we argue about is who goes first on a song,” adds Konan. And how do they solve that? “It’s just whoever went second in the last one.” They both laugh. “Literally it’s easy. Logical. It doesn’t have to go beyond that.”
Neither of them like to dwell too much on what their lives would look like had music not worked out for them. “Sometimes you don’t want to know,” laughs Konan. “I don’t know if it would’ve been positive, so we’re just going to leave that one alone. But we’re here now, and we’ve made the most of this, and we’re going to continue to make the most of this.”
Truly they have. Inspired by Jay Z’s empire, Krept and Konan have started several businesses including a dessert eatery (the impeccably named Crepes & Cones), an events company, and an award-winning all-natural babycare line. Now, they’re opening a 15,000 sq ft “inclusive” supermarket in Croydon. “You know how your mum would always go to the World Food aisle in Sainsbury’s? It’s like that, but it’s the whole shop” is how they describe it.
The only thing we argue about is who goes first on a song
Things are improving, they both agree. “Rappers are represented way better now that there are people from the culture that are in the media,” says Konan. “And people have seen it long enough to understand it, so I think it’s in a good place. Man, obviously mistakes are still going to be made, naturally... [like] the media mistaking rappers for footballers. That’s always going to happen. That’s just how the game is, but it’s in a way better position than it was when we first came into it.”

Details of the injury and its extent are unknown at the time. Tuesday’s game will be the first Konan Nierderhauser has missed all season long, opening up opportunities for sophomore Kachi Nzeh and freshman Miles Goodman to take on larger roles
With fifth-year senior Puff Johnson already out with a right-hand injury, Penn State will have to adjust its game plan to guard Dawson Garcia, the second-leading scorer in the Big Ten.
