belt-it-until-it-breaks attitude they have towards building and racing cars
the sense of community that encourages the wild and ingenious
the badass names they give their creations
I recently met up with lifelong ‘rodder Kaoru Koshimizu to check out his Evolution Ray
a C1 Chevrolet Corvette with a fully reworked powertrain and running gear
Tucked away in a suburban area of Yokohama
Koshimizu-san runs a bar and a taiyaki shop alongside his automotive interests
At the bottom of the hill is his first garage-turned-workshop
which houses Koshimizu-san’s original-condition C2 Stingray
you’ll find delicious fish-shaped sweets filled with sweet red beans
The aircraft hangar-style kit was shipped over from the States and built by Koshimizu-san himself
Koshimizu-san’s first car – a 1969 C3 Corvette that he purchased when he was just 20 – is parked next to the C1
He can’t explain where the desire to drive an American car came from
I guess for a kid in Japan during the 1970s and ’80s
a Corvette was the AC/DC to a Nissan Fairlady’s Air Supply
Inspired by the race cars built by Greenwood Corvettes and the like
Koshimizu-san has widened the C3 with a modified kit from the US to accommodate 13-inch Halibrand wheels in the rear
It’s powered by a 427ci big block V8 with four Weber carbs mated to a Doug Nash 4+1 transmission
we couldn’t terrorise the neighbourhood in it
This is what I’d come to see: Koshimizu-san’s C1 Corvette
It’s the grandfather of two-seater American sports coupes
right up to the current twin-turbo 1,064hp ZR1
fibreglass-bodied C1 Corvettes were about as sporty as a sloth in a swimming pool
Their anaemic 235ci straight-six engines were far from exciting
and rudimentary drum brakes made them hard to stop quickly from speed
Handling was nothing to write home about either
no surprise considering the driveline was a parts bin collection from various passenger cars
a 265ci small block V8 and 3-speed manual transmission saved the Corvette from extinction
but it wasn’t until ’65 that disc brakes became standard
Petite proportions and delicate details like the rear fins made its shortcomings somewhat forgivable
especially after the newer models had redeemed the Corvette name
you’re a slightly eccentric interior designer who runs a bar and a taiyaki shop
a hydraulically operated clamshell front end and a boot with an electric motor might be a nice little project
The C1’s bonnet originally hinged forwards
but Koshimizu-san has taken that further and turned the whole front end of the car’s fibreglass body into a single piece
revealing the first of many performance upgrades for the Evolution Ray
Replacing the rear leaf springs and solid axle is a fully custom pushrod suspension system
Because the C1 never had mounting points for independent suspension in the rear
Koshimizu-san was able to start with a blank slate
He also wanted to create some kind of party piece in the rear to match the party in the front
The front end features a custom-mounted C3 chassis frame with bespoke control arms
The new suspension components would have little meaning if left to their own devices
so Koshimizu-san has tied the front and rear together with a hidden roll bar
and the clamshell opens to reveal a 383ci big block Chevy V8 fed by twin Demon 650cfm carbs that sends 500hp to a Richmond 5-speed transmission and C3 diff
slung right down onto the floorplan with the chopped glass windshield not shielding any of the wind
I don’t think this car is winning any prizes on any autocross days
The engine torque makes the car feel like it’s ripping itself apart at even the lightest of throttle
the raw visceral energy of hot rodding – living on the edge and enjoying every oil-soaked minute of it
More stories from Japan on Speedhunters
even though I have never been interested at all in C1s
I really enjoy when you guys document the place the car lives in as well as the cars themselves
His place is definitely a cool hang out spot
Two minor technical nitpicks:1) The 265 small block Chevy came out in 1955
It grew to 283 cubic inches in 1957.2) The 383 is still a small block Chevy
It's commonly called a "stroker"; just a 350 block bored 0.030" with a 3.750" stroke crankshaft from a 400 small block Chevy
Someone recently said the journalists here don’t know their stuff
They don’t know anything about engines or classifications
When your audience is correcting you you should be cutting them a check or firing your staff
Man this has to be the baddest C1 I have ever seen what a car
rolled into a Japanese burrito of Route 66
and styles on all the mooneyes like Rob Roy
The C3 steals the show for me though...(heart emoji

In the opinion of Kill la Kill creator Kazuki Nakashima
while there exists a growing opposition among audiences to the concept of ‘risqué’ anime fan service
he and his fellow creators “should dare to take on the stigma” and keep including such content in their works
RELATED: Disney Plus Japan Exec Admits Anime Industry Making “A Shift Toward More Acceptable Expressions” In Order To Appeal To Wider Audiences
Nakashima, who in addition to the Studio Trigger original series is also known for penning such fan-favorite productions as Gurren Lagann, Promare, Kamen Rider W, and Kamen Rider Fourze, offered his thoughts on the titillating topic during a May 2024 interview given alongside series director Hiroyuki Imaishi to Japanese news outlet Febri in reflection of Kill la Kill’s 10th anniversary
At one point met with the observation from the outlet’s Shotaro Miya (as machine translated by DeepL) that the production of the over-the-top and bombastic style of the fashion-centric seinen series “was only possible because it was [made] 10 years ago”
Imashi confirmed his host’s assessment and admitted
we have to think a little more about what we can’t make
the exposure of skin,” to which Nakashima added
” I think even I would have to restrain myself from doing a full-body depiction of Mako.”
“I don’t think today’s audiences would tolerate a ‘peek into a bathroom’,” he added with a laugh
“I would have to make an excuse for it more carefully
‘This person’s life is at stake!’ Like that.”
“Wouldn’t it be better to just cut the bath scene?”
“if you ask me if the bath peeking scene is interesting after all the logic I put into it
I would say it’s not that interesting
RELATED: ‘Naruto’ And ‘Bleach’ Anime Studio President Rejects Idea That Anime Should Conform To Western Standards: “If You Make Animation With That In Mind, It Will Become Increasingly Boring”
Turning his thoughts to the general discourse surrounding fan service
the storied Japanese entertainment writer light-heartedly asserted
‘I don’t understand,’ but we don’t want them to feel unnecessarily uncomfortable
people’s immunity will be weakened and they will all die
there is a way of thinking that we should dare to take on the stigma and transmit harmful things.”
‘This is what we need to do for the sake of humanity’s immunity’,” he playfully continued
but we will die with a stigma for the sake of humanity
There is a way to do it with that kind of feeling.”
Putting a final bow on their conversation with Miya
Imashi ultimately joked back to his Kill la Kill partner
I don’t want to perish if I can help it”
It should be noted that despite his exaggerated language
Nakashima doesn’t actually think fan service is vital to the survival of the human race
the storied writer’s joking take is meant to convey the idea that
the more artists have to ‘sand off the edges’ of their creations
the more boring they will ultimately be – and if that becomes the norm
As proven by the currently creatively-bankrupt state of the Western comic book

As the Japanese whisky industry marks its centenary
former Suntory chief blender Seiichi Koshimizu has co-founded an online salon to share the spirit’s story with the world
This promotional feature was created by the Whisky Magazine team in partnership with Japanese Whisky Membership Community
“It’s really about sharing the narrative behind the craft of Japanese whisky,” Koshimizu says
“There’s a need to increase awareness and be a platform for culture makers.” Members can expect exclusive content
interviews with the leading lights in their fields
deep dives into the philosophies of blending
and access to gatherings – virtual and in-person.With its rich and fascinating history
Japanese whisky has won fans all around the world
“We developed by learning from Scotch whisky,” he continues
“But over time we’ve developed our own culture and ways of drinking – for example
That’s what we will centre with our new audience.”
Koshimizu is perhaps the only person who could found such a society
Japanese whisky wouldn’t be what it is today without him
He started his career in Suntory’s research department in 1976
before moving to Yamazaki Distillery in 1985 and becoming a blender in 1991
before being awarded the title of chief blender Emeritus in 2014.Under his watch
Suntory has been named ISC Distiller of the Year multiple times
Creations including Hibiki 30 Years Old and Yamazaki 12 Years Old have won countless trophies
with the latter becoming one of the world’s most sought-after and valuable whiskies
Koshimizu himself was inducted into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame in 2015
becoming the first Japanese recipient of the honour
His private creations include the Yamazaki Single Malt Premium Red Edition Genmu
a vatting of exquisitely rare Yamazaki parcels from the 1960s and 1980s
It sold for a remarkable HK$496,000 (£50,600) at auction.Yet
When asked what his biggest achievement has been so far
he says: “Making good Japanese whiskey is not about one man
I’ve just loved being there.” And now he’s bringing more people into the fold with The Japanese Whisky Membership Community
What’s so special about the new Community is that it represents a meeting of minds
Those who join will immerse themselves in not just the world of Japanese whisky
but how it blends richly into other facets of Japan’s rich and abundant culture
too.“We also want to encourage a collaboration between the many aspects of traditional crafts,” Koshimizu continues
and wants to share the long tradition of ceramics being used as a spirits drinking vessel.“Ceramic subtly changes the flavour,” he explains
ceramic will bring a really different drinking experience.” To this end
Koshimizu and the other co-founders have worked together with a traditional Japanese ceramic artisan of Bizen
a province famous for its pottery of the same name
to create a very special whisky cup that presents an alternative way for enthusiasts to enjoy their favourite spirit
it’s indicative of how the Salon will enrich members’ experiences of whisky enjoyment
He speaks with a deep passion for the Japanese category
It’s about sharing and creating more custodians for the future
“We spent about 20 years establishing the reputation of Japanese whisky
A central philosophy of the Japanese Whisky Membership Community is preserving the category for the future. To this end, the group will support two vital projects: the preservation of Japanese oak trees and research into the development of lower-alcohol whisky.Known as mizunara
Japanese oak has become increasingly celebrated for the flavour it imparts to whisky
as distillers all around the world are increasingly using this precious material
cooperage-worthy mizunara has become increasingly rare
The situation is made more challenging as the trees take at least 200 years to reach maturity
“Everyone’s looking for mizunara these days
meaning it could be easy to destroy the environment,” Koshimizu explains
“Conserving forests is a way of sustainably enjoying the whiskies.” A portion of Japanese Whisky Membership Community fees will be donated to tree-planting initiatives hosted by the local Agriculture and Forestry Promotion Office of Kofu City
It takes place in the Yamanashi prefecture
which is not only home to the Hakushu Distillery
Koshimizu is also pursuing the development of lower-ABV whisky which offers the same flavour and
“The basis for starting the project is because I’m getting older,” he shares
“I’m not able to drink like I could when I was young
But I want the taste and texture.” There will be many others who are excluded from whisky because they don’t drink alcohol for a range of reasons.Fees will also be used to support the work he’s founded in this area with a research institute in Yamanashi Prefecture
He notes that there’s no guarantee that studies will be successful – but he says he wants to support it in any way he can

you’d be familiar with the various workshops scattered around the outskirts of the complex
in an unsuspecting building Koshimizu Motorsports hides some truly remarkable gems
Koshimizu Motorsports – more commonly known as KMS – is synonymous with AE86 tuning
When Yoshinori Koshimizu founded KMS 30 years ago
and that’s resulted in cars that are still actively raced to this day
Koshimizu-san has shifted more towards AE86 restoration work but
most of the cars that leave KMS still receive some of the signature performance upgrades he’s famous for
I first stumbled across KMS back in 2018 on a holiday in Japan, catching a glimpse of an AE86 through a half-shut roller door. Being the over-enthusiastic tourist I was, I stuck my head in to have a look and received an overwhelmingly warm welcome from Koshimizu-san. I wrote about this brief visit in my first-ever Speedhunters article
But it was a particular car at KMS that made a return visit so important
Koshimizu-san pulled out an arsenal of keys
swinging open the garage door to reveal Keiichi Tsuchiya’s original TRD N2 AE86
he explained how KMS are still the caretakers of this iconic machine
I spent more time taking in the details – namely the numerous old school TRD parts and plaques
It’s not often you get to spend a good amount of time up close and personal with a relic like this
and other details like the special TRD Nardi steering wheel
Stack dash and TRD striped seat are drool material for an AE86 otaku like myself
While the car still does make very occasional outings
it spends most of its retirement tucked away at KMS
it was cool to spot evidence of some spirited driving splashed across the rear fender
Koshimizu-san showed us through some of the current customer AE86s he was working on
The cars are conveniently lined up in order of completion
giving you a good idea of how much goes into these restorations
The furthermost two-door coupe had recently been treated to an entirely new front clip from a donor car after a small circuit mishap
Koshimizu-san’s motorsport-driven approach means each of these cars receives a seam-welded engine bay
reinforcing chassis that in the earliest AE86s are now 40 years old
Each of these builds receives a completely refreshed 4A-GE
either 20-valve or a classic 16-valve depending on the customer’s preference and requirements
These are usually paired with one of KMS’s iconic exhaust manifolds
With each of these restorations taking approximately 18 months to complete
fitting and part is either replaced or restored to factory new
As AE86s begin to demand even higher prices
shops like KMS have become more and more busy
with many chasing that OEM+ restoration that we see on similar chassis like the 240Z and GT-R
Once I acquire an AE86 of my own here in Japan (I promise
I’m almost certain I’ll be spending some time at KMS

Commemorating the release of the Spice and Wolf Holo Wedding Dress Ver
The first volume of the Spice and Wolf light novel was released in 2006
and the 19th volume ( Spice and Wolf XIX Spring Log II ) that fans waited eagerly for was recently released on May 10 in Japan
the light novel introduced countless fans to the fascinating journey of traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence
The Spice and Wolf series has gained incredible popularity and was able to celebrate its 10th anniversary
one name that always comes to mind is Holo (voiced by Ami Koshimizu)
Her notable usage of oiran (courtesan) speech
and the secrets she holds within make her the perfect heroine who mesmerizes not only Lawrence but also the readers and viewers
A special Holo Wedding Dress Version Figure was released to commemorate the series’ 10th anniversary
To learn more about the figure and also the charm of the original light novel and anime
animate Times conducted an interview with Ami Koshimizu
the voice actress who played the role of Holo
and this second part focuses on the reasons why people love Holo so much
Koshimizu to gain an understanding of who Holo really is
Spice and Wolf won the Silver Prize of the 12th Dengeki Novel Prize
the light novel focuses on economics as well as a new type of fantasy without swords and magic
The story shows the adventures and businesses of Kraft Lawrence
the protagonist and also a traveling merchant
and Holo the wise wolf a sweet girl with wolf ears and a gorgeous fur tail who refers to herself as the “God of Harvest”
Spice and Wolf has earned its own TV anime series
Its contents are popular around the world and have been translated into English
a website filled with special content such as the new Spice and Wolf Spring Log story and Spice & Wolf New Theory: Parchment & Wolf has been launched in April 2016
Spice and Wolf 10th Anniversary Project Holo Wedding Dress Ver
May I?” Their incredible journey began with those words
and flourished into a beautiful love story
in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Spice and Wolf
the culmination of their tale is brought to life with the Holo Wedding Dress Ver
Praising others based on their own standards
── Let's turn our attention to Holo's charm now
We know the 10th anniversary figure was redesigned and modified based on the feedback of many fans
Could you tell us why people love Holo so much
Koshimizu: I think her adorable appearance - as well as her distinctive ears and tail - contribute to her popularity
The fact that she has lived for an extended period of time
and is capable of truly understanding others also makes her attractive
she wouldn’t have been able to gain complete control over them
I think Holo is capable of choosing the best perspective or approach for each person out of all the perspectives and approaches that are available
She chooses her words depending on who she’s talking to
she’s able to instantly find words that make the most sense to whoever she’s talking to
Talking to someone like that must be very enjoyable
and it would simply be a pleasant experience
she bases the praise on their standards instead of her own
I think that’s an extraordinarily attractive and also unworldly trait of hers
It goes to show just how many people she has seen over her time
The idea of choosing words that are most appropriate for the listener may sound like a form of deception
The ability to effectively convey the thoughts from the bottom of her heart is one of Holo’s charming points
The gap between her image as an excellent communicator and the vulnerability she shows when she’s eating is quite charming
── She sure does become vulnerable (laughs)
Koshimizu: I think another major reason why the audience loves Holo is the extent to which they can relate to her
The feeling of loneliness is one that always stays with Holo
Although she was able to become friends with a man like Lawrence
she’ll still be lonely someday since her lifespan is much longer
There are still times when we are lonely even when we have someone close to us
those sudden feelings of loneliness are what makes Holo a character that we can all relate to
I have a dog that I love as much as I would love my own child
Although I wish we could be together forever
I think people who treat their pets with that much love would know exactly how Holo feels (laughs)
That trace of imperfection also adds to her charm
The fact that we can replace parts of what she feels with our own experiences and relate to her is what allows Holo to fascinate so many people
but she also shows traces of imperfection and emptiness
it seems like Holo is filled only with elements that would make people like her
Koshimizu: Holo doesn’t only appeal to men; she’s the type of character who’s loved by women as well
being able to choose words wisely to avoid hurting others is an important skill in developing and maintaining relationships
You’d expect her to have this really mature image
Then she goes on to show off her childlike and innocent smiles that are absolutely irresistible (laughs)
A decade of hard work── When the anime series was being broadcasted
you stated that Holo could not have romantic feelings towards Lawrence
the two are sharing their last scenes together as a married couple
I thought Lawrence’s life expectancy would be the wall that separates them
Holo would maintain her appearance without change
and Lawrence would be the only one who continues to age
I thought the more pleasant times they shared together
the more painful their eventual separation would become
I also thought that even if Holo did like Lawrence
she wouldn’t take the step forward and approach him about it
and the story about their future is also being put together
I believed that their future would be filled with difficulties
but I wonder if they’ve already decided to simply enjoy their time together and worry about sadness when it arrives
and the time they can spend together is only available until it’s all gone
Maybe those ideas helped Holo make up her mind about it all
She has this special opportunity to live during the same time period as Lawrence
so she might as well thoroughly enjoy the happiness that’s available to her
I’m sure Lawrence is the one who made her think that way
The two of them even have a child now (laughs)
── Holo and Lawrence have gone on to run their own bathhouse
Lawrence did mention at the beginning of their story that he wanted to have his own store
Koshimizu: I never thought Holo would be able to stay in one place
the act of settling down must pose plenty of hardships
I’m glad that Holo and her family are now able to find happiness for themselves
I want to congratulate her for a decade of hard work
Being played by Holo (laughs)── The image of Holo at her memorable wedding has been presented in a brand new figure
Koshimizu: I have a bit of a taste for figures
and I must say that it looks really well made
Figure enthusiasts value the face of the figure a lot
It doesn’t matter how you look at this figure
Holo’s face looks just like it does in the original illustration
I know it’s difficult to transform something that’s two-dimensional into something three-dimensional
Koshimizu as she fixes her sights on the figure)
Koshimizu: Regardless of which angle you look from
an obstacle that’s generally present is is the fact that figures don’t look like the character from certain angles
I know this figure was revised based on fan feedback
and I think the result shows those efforts very well
The feeling of the ears and the airiness of her hair have all been recreated
You might think you can see under her skirt
but you can’t see it from any angle (laughs)
That’s something that’ll really get your heart pumping
Koshimizu: Little details like that fit Holo’s character perfectly
I’m sure she’s teasing us by leading us to believe that we can see it and then refusing to show it off
Koshimizu: It’s a figure of Holo for us to enjoy
but it almost feels like we’re the ones being played by her
── The figure also allows us to imagine the position from which Lawrence is watching his bride
The grassland base that comes with the figure it great
It makes me think about how their wedding must have been held in a beautiful scene of greenery
I’ve already come up with plenty of stories about this figure (laughs)
Lawrence can only watch Holo from his place
but we have the freedom to see her from any angle we want
a message to all the fans who have continued to support the Spice and Wolf series
Koshimizu: Even after its 10th anniversary
the original animation doesn’t feel old at all
I think Spice and Wolf is a fantastic series that offers something different as it ages
I believe the series never becomes old-fashioned because it is a representation of Holo herself
Some fans may have been there since it all began
and some may have only learned about the series recently
Some may have been children when the series started
It doesn’t matter when you started following the series since I believe Holo has the same amount of love and appreciation for everyone
I hope the fans will continue to age and mature with the series

A special Holo Wedding Dress Version Figure was released to commemorate the series’ 10th anniversary
During the rather troublesome dubbing process
she received help from an unexpected source..
Spice and Wolf 10th Anniversary Project: Holo Wedding Dress Ver
Quality that even surprises Ami Koshimizu
Figure has been released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Spice and Wolf
You already had the chance to enjoy it during the photo shoot
You took a few pictures with the figure today
Koshimizu: I’m not that great with pictures
so there were a few moments where I wasn’t sure what to do
I’m honored to have such fantastic pictures taken
──You were asking the photographer for instructions the whole time
Koshimizu: I was completely stumped by the idea of “freestyling” my poses (laughs)
I’m always a little unsure when it comes to photo shoots
Koshimizu: The staff members helped me out a lot with their magic… (laughs)
Food that looks appetizing enough to actual affect diets
──Since we’re commemorating the 10th anniversary of Spice and Wolf
it would be great if you could tell us about your memories of the series
the most memorable part of the anime has to be the scene about coins
The one where Holo explains how even the same coins can have different values based on factors like credit and how much gold they really contain
and I struggled quite a bit as I reviewed them
I would get confused with all the names and types of coins there were (laughs)
I still remember it like it all happened yesterday
Another memorable scene would be the one where Holo trades fur (*1)
Lawrence stored the furs he purchased with apples to remove the odors
By branding them as special furs that produce floral scents
he was able to sell them at much higher prices
I remember thinking about how much the smell of furs would change if they were infused with the scent of apples
*1: From episode three titled "Wolf and Business Talent" in the first season of the anime
claiming that she wants to help cover her expenses
──That scene showed us just how amazing Holo truly is
there are also the apples and the potatoes
steamed potatoes (*2) used to be mainly for festivals when you eat them together with lots of butter
I was able to realize how wonderful they are
and I discovered that they taste amazing with salted fish… “Holo
there are all these delicious things available now
Salted fish are the best!” are among the thoughts that go through my mind when I’m munching on potatoes (laughs)
*2: From episode two titled “Wolf and Distant Past” from the first season of the anime
Lawrence prepares steamed potatoes for a hungry Holo
She was so hungry and ate so quickly that she ended up choking
Spice and Wolf continues to influence my diet and what I eat
There’s something about the series that gives me cravings for a certain something whenever I start thinking about it
Everything that is shown in the series looks so good
Honey-dipped peaches and everything else all looked fantastic
──I guess the anime series was filled with what we now often refer to as “foodporn”
──Were there any other things that really made an impression on you
Koshimizu: The series wasn’t just about the food - the characters were charming
and I liked Diana (Dian Rubens) that Akeno Watanabe voiced as well
it was almost certain that she would be a witch
I remember wondering what kind of character she actually was
she changes the way she presents herself depending on who she’s facing
All of this is different when she’s presenting herself to women
Holo intentionally shows off her cunning side
so it’s like a female battle that she only engages Diana in
──The different ways Holo interacts with other characters was also a notable part of the series
there was also that time when Fermi proposed to her
the challenge I had to tackle was deciding how I should voice Holo
When we were recording the scene where she became emotional and argued with Lawrence
I spent a long time thinking about how much emotion I should let her show
*3: From episode 3 titled “Wolf and the Gap that Cannot be Filled” in the second season of the anime
Fermi Amarti proposes to Holo after falling in love with her at first site
Lawrence and Amarti end up in a duel over pyrite sales on credit
The enjoyable process of thinking about how to fill the role
──Let me ask you a few questions about the series’ tenth anniversary
Please take a look back at the past ten years and tell us how you feel
I do remember the Spice and Wolf series as one that started a while ago
but I don’t think Spice and Wolf ever gets old
Holo looks gorgeous no matter how much time goes by
time is certainly affecting how I look… (laughs)
Koshimizu: I didn’t completely stop voicing Holo after the anime ended
I’ve had quite a few chances to participate as a guest character in various game apps recently
I can’t help but wonder how things will turn out since it’s been such a long time
I also feel like I can deliver the oiran essence of how Holo speaks much more effectively now
Koshimizu: I don’t think I’ve fully mastered it
Maybe the oiran way of speaking just fits me better than it did when I was only twenty-something years old (laughs)
I guess I was able to experience the fun that aging can offer
This isn’t something that’s possible in just any role
──It could be a feeling that is exclusive to actors and actresses who have played the same role for a long time
Koshimizu: I think the feeling differs from that of “continuously playing a role for ten years” and “playing the same role for the first time in ten years”
When you play a role little by little over a span of ten years
the actor or actress experiences the same passage of time as the character does
even if the fundamentals of the character don’t change
there are still going to be traces of maturation or evolution
When you play a role that you had ten years ago again for the first time
The character is frozen in time while the actor or actress continues to age
The tone and quality of my voice haven’t changed
but the amount of experience I have is different since I’ve accumulated ten years of it
When that extra experience is shown through how I voice Holo now
things become complicated since I don’t know how the audience will react
I can find things that I wasn’t capable of doing at the time
The decision between keeping everything the way it was before or voicing Holo with the skills I have now is a tough one
Koshimizu: I’ve been told before that I’ve gotten the character wrong when I try something new in my voice acting
──That difference might be due to the fact that characters grow in the minds of the audience
Koshimizu: It may be due to the so-called “memory adjustments”
If actors and actresses can continue playing the same character for ten years
they can make gradual changes over time and without anyone noticing the differences
but nobody will tell them that they’ve got the character wrong
but I enjoy thinking about how I should approach each role
things can get pretty rough at times (laughs)
Holo came out of nowhere and helped me out
──Tell us how you feel about who you were at the time
Koshimizu: The parts that required all of my energy before would probably be challenging even now
I’m referring to the adjustments and consideration needed to decide how I should present the character
Coming up with a plan that maintains the proper emotional distance between me and the character - and doesn’t go against any part of the scene - isn’t an easy task
Will I be able to provide the perfect voice for Holo now
──Holo is a character who shows different sides of herself
and I personally have been impressed by how you were able to accurately voice each of those sides since the beginning of the series
Koshimizu: The role of Holo always came with numerous options to pursue
so I would often struggle when I voiced her
the oiran way of speaking itself was a challenge
There are opportunities where you can be exposed to the language
but it’s not something that people can regularly experience or use for themselves
I felt as if Holo was trying to set me free from my troubles when I would observe her and her expressions in the videos we used to check our voice recordings
but she would pop out inside my head and help me out at times (laughs)
She would assure me that she knows how many options are available and encourage me to just try
Holo served as my source of emotional support numerous times
and that might be why she has such a lasting impression on me
we were able to learn about just how special Holo is to Ms
The next part will feature discussions about why people love Holo so much
as well as more details about Holo’s charm
we are giving away an acrylic keyholder autographed by Ami Koshimizu

Showing off his latest creations at Harajuku's Blum & Poe this spring, Koshimizu's work consists of ordinary pieces found in daily life but incorporating geometric shapes, and is often handicrafted, practical and pleasing to look at.

The official website for the Bungo Stray Dogs television anime announced on Wednesday that Ami Koshimizu (School Rumble's Tenma Tsukamato, Code Geass's Kallen Stadtfeld) will play the character Kōyō Ozaki
Ozaki's special ability is "Konjiki Yasha" or "Gold Yasha," the title of a book by real-life author Kōyō Ozaki
Previously revealed new characters include:
The first 12 episodes aired in April to June, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan
The "battle action" story centers around a league of literary figures with supernatural powers. For example, in real life, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa wrote acclaimed stories that inspired Akira Kurosawa's Rashōmon film and the Aoi Bungaku Series anime's Jigoku Hen (Hell Screen) arc
he has the power to transform and manipulate his cloak into a monster-like entity
some of these writers solve mysteries as part of the "Armed Detective Agency," while others appear as antagonists
Yen Press announced in July that it had licensed Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa's original manga

She misses holidaying in Hawaii and thus brought a slice of island life to S’pore via Aloha Avenue
An island paradise perhaps not as well-known to Singaporeans as nearby haunts like Bali
but one that deserves the attention of beachgoers nonetheless
While 30-year-old Momoko Koshimizu from Tokyo isn’t one of Hawaii’s immigrant-descended inhabitants — roughly 14 percent of the island’s population has Japanese ancestry — she sorely misses time spent holidaying on the island after relocating to the United States for seven years at the age of five
She now lives in Singapore because of her job in the oil and gas industry
Her Hawaiian-themed café Aloha Avenue in Haji Lane
Expect Hawaiian staples like poke and loco moco
as well as standard café grub such as pancakes
She’s also serving smoothies and other beverages sourced from Hawaii
including beers and Kona coffee (a type of Arabica bean cultivated on the island’s slopes in the Kona region)
All photos cannot be reproduced without permission from 8days.sg
who still holds a full-time job in the client support department
“It’s hard to describe the feeling of life there
That’s what I wanted from [Aloha Avenue].” It’s a vibe that she feels people would appreciate in the hustle and bustle of Singapore – which is why she invested $60k into getting the café up and running
Haji Lane is hipster central thanks to IG-worthy murals and grungy façades all around
wouldn’t look out of place in Sentosa – it’s unabashedly bright and cheery with décor that’s evocative of a beach club
all-natural vibe thanks to a combination of wooden furniture
with plenty of natural light streaming in from the storefront window
The second floor of the unit is dedicated to ad-hoc rentals for dance and yoga sessions as well
Momoko says business after the recent dine-in ban was lifted hasn’t improved
“The crowd in Haji Lane is almost [nothing]
There is Aloha Avenue-themed merch like tote bags and T-shirts for ardent fans of the café – which double up as props for photos
if the ukulele (a gift from a friend) and faux-leis aren’t enough for your IG shots
Aloha Avenue dishes out familiar Hawaiian faves like poke
along with café fare like salmon rolls and pancakes
“I’m planning to revamp the menu with some vegan or vegetarian options,” the Japanese lady boss (who doesn’t do the cooking herself) says
“As well as some desserts - we’re thinking of shaved ice.” Expect to fork out $30 per person if you’re getting booze as well
Loco moco is quintessentially unpretentious Hawaiian fare – a ground beef patty
fried egg and rice drenched in a brown onion-y sauce
Aloha Avenue’s version doesn’t quite hit the mark
The patty lacks the sear that’s necessary for flavour
It’s also under-seasoned toward the centre and strangely cut up into chunks instead of being left whole
the fried egg with runny yolk and crispy edges is good
Though Aloha Avenue used beef when 8days.sg visited
note that Momoko plans to change the item to vegan loco moco (made with plant-based NEXT meat) soon
Deep-fried garlic-marinated prawns served in a coconut half-shell-esque wooden bowl
There’s nothing particularly Hawaiian about what’s on the plate – a couple of reasonably fluffy pancakes
mixed fruit and sweetened whipped cream with honey to drizzle over
“We wanted to include something that’s popular with everyone
A bit like the California roll,” Momoko says
Another reason for including the roll – Singaporeans’ love for salmon
which has always baffled Japanese folks like herself
The sushi rice roll is bundled with salmon
then dressed with an aromatic mix of chilli
Now this is a dish that Hawaii is known for
Raw tuna chunks marinated with sesame oil and soy sauce fare nicely against the acidity of tomatoes and sliced raw onions
It’s mellowed out somewhat by the avocado (which could be a tad riper
Tangy and salty-savoury with a nutty whiff of sesame — the yummiest thing we had here
A reasonably thick yoghurt-and-strawberry-based smoothie punctuated with tropical flavours courtesy of the pineapple and banana
We dig it — it’s a great drink to cool off on a hot day — though the banana flavour somewhat drowns out the subtler pineapple and strawberry tang
Instagrammable new cafe with an exotic twist
While some of the Hawaiian classics like the loco moco are middling
the poke and garlic shrimp are tasty enough picks for lunch
Aloha Avenue is at 51 Haji Lane, S189244. Tel: 8010-1183. Open daily except Mon, noon - 10.30pm. More info via Facebook, Instagram, or website. Delivery via Grabfood

The same cast voiced the drama CD adaptation and the read-aloud version of the light novel series
a fighter in a war that humans and demons have waged for 15 years
The humans have infiltrated the demons' territory
but Hero is separated from his three companions before he enters the castle of Maō (Demon Queen)
Yūsha confronts Maō alone about the destructive war that the demons have imposed on humans
Maō tells him that the war has created a reason for humans to work together and improved human society overall
She convinces him that humans would fall into a bloody civil war without their battles against the demons
Touno Mamare began the story as an online novel on the 2channel forum before Enterbrain began publishing the series in 2010
Its first five volumes have sold over 450,000 copies
and there are also Episode 1: Nire no Kuni no Jo-Mahō Tsukai (The Sorceress of the Country of Elm) and Episode 0: Sakyū no Kuni no Yumi-zukai (The Archer of the Country of Dunes) spinoff novels

Elon Musk’s Twitter post raises suspicions of him playing The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls
Publication date of the original Japanese article: 2021-01-13 20:18 (JST)Translated by
who has a history of posting tweets that cause a stir
posted an image on Twitter of a character named Sachiko Koshimizu from a game titled The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls
players take on the role of a producer in charge of training girls to become successful idols
a world-famous billionaire posting an image of self-proclaimed “cutest idol” Sachiko quickly got the attention of other players
Even some Japanese news media outlets took notice of the tweet
leading to a round of speculations on the social media platform
Hey you …Yeah you Queen …You’re gonna make it! 💕💕 pic.twitter.com/LrqdIrbIyd
Elon Musk is co-founder and current CEO of the American automotive company known as Tesla Motors, Inc. According to an article in Forbes
Musk was officially declared the richest man in the world as of January 8
with an estimated net worth of around $189 billion USD
Musk is also known for causing a commotion on Twitter from time to time with his often poorly thought-out tweets
These have even included a number of tweets containing anime- or game-related content
he posted a fanart image back in 2019 of the character known as 2B from NieR: Automata
When another Twitter user replied and suggested he should give credit to the original artist
“I wish people would stop crediting artists on twitter when any fool can find out who the artist was in seconds
It’s destroying the medium.” This led to backlash from the online community
Another example of his careless Twitter posts occurred in 2018 when he jokingly tweeted that he was “[…] considering taking Tesla private at $420[…]”
The fallout resulted in an SEC investigation and a $20 million dollar fine
Sachiko Koshimizu is one of nearly 200 idols available in the social network game The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls
Sachiko is known for her absolute confidence in believing she is the cutest idol of all
Sachiko was first introduced on January 13
2012 and is still one of the most popular idols in the game
she earned the 12th-place spot in the 9th annual Cinderella Girl General Election

Elon Musk tweeted an image of Sachiko which includes the caption
You’re gonna make it.” He also typed the caption out himself in the tweet
but changed the word “king” to “queen.” After seeing his post
Japanese Twitter was abuzz with users posting messages such as
“So that’s who Sachiko Koshimizu’s producer was,” and
“Looks like Bandai Namco Entertainment’s stock went up thanks to this tweet.”
イーロンの呟きの画像の方の文言で検索かけたら イリーガルりあむグッズ引っかかったけど これなんのミーム文言なんすかね?https://t.co/R5zgTGAEbv
You’re gonna make it,” does not seem to be a major meme
Twitter users were also quick to notice that there are very few examples of the image of Sachiko Koshimizu posted by Elon Musk online
leading to rumors that he may have created this particular image himself
this particular image shows up only a few times
and many of those have captions written in Spanish
There is one example of the caption “Hey you
You’re gonna make it,” being used with an image of Riamu Yumemi on a coffee mug (this is most likely unofficially)
but it is more than likely this meme is not a mainstream one
Judging from the kinds of posts Elon Musk has made in the past
it is hard to imagine him taking a screenshot and editing it himself
this very same image seems to have first appeared online toward the end of March of 2020
The screenshot above is from a Facebook post on March 28
2020 by an account known as Weebs and Their Memes
The image’s caption and composition match that of the one in Elon Musk’s post exactly
Musk also has a history of reposting images created by others without offering any context
the existence of the aforementioned coffee mug seems to indicate the caption used in this image is some kind of minor internet meme
it’s probably safe to say that Musk’s tweet of Sachiko Koshimizu is a repost
[UPDATE 1/13/2021 8:31 PM] Twitter user @dadanpo_imas discovered an even earlier example of this image being used in a Facebook post in November 2019 originating in Mexico
Elon Musk has been known to post tweets relating to Japanese anime—Your Name and Neon Genesis Evangelion to name a couple—as well as games. (Nlab/ねとらぼ Article) It is also interesting to note that January 13
is the same day Sachiko Koshimizu was originally implemented as a character in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls
The odds of this being a coincidence are quite small
so even ignoring the question of whether or not Elon Musk himself plays as Sachiko Koshimizu’s producer in the game
it seems quite likely that he is at least familiar with who Sachiko is and what game she is from
Who would have imagined such a stir could arise from the world’s richest man crossing paths with that of The Idolmaster Cinderella Girl’s self-proclaimed cutest idol

With tenure expanding eighteen years, Fujifilm Australia’s COO, David Marshall, is suing the organisation’s Chairman and Chief Executive for ageism, seeking up to $1 million in compensation, alleging they terminated his employment for “being too old”
Mr Marshall launched legal proceedings in the Federal Court against company CEO Takeshi Yanese and Chairman Nobuhiko Koshimizu
Reports state Mr Marshall was ‘mysteriously ousted’ from Fujifilm in July
Mr Marshall’s statement of claim states that since May of this year, Fujifilm actively excluded him from high-level client and executive meetings. In addition, he states they disconnected his email and moved him to smaller offices
Mr Marshall also affirms that Chairman Koshimizu and other Fujifilm executives repeatedly made discriminatory remarks surrounding his age of 59
Marshall alleges in 2015 at a Melbourne restaurant, Fujifilm CEO Kevin Masud stood up and pointed at him, laughing whilst remarking
“Dave is too old” in front of senior clients
The allegations go on to state

directly stating it was seeking a “young

Ultimately, Mr Marshall states that Chairman Nobuhiko Koshimizu’s behaviour
often done in the presence of CEO Takeshi Yanese
culminated in the dismissal of Mr Marshall
Fujifilm’s Chief Operating Officer is set to depart in early October
and as part of his legal proceedings is seeking up to $1 million in compensation for loss of income and benefits
Marshall’s 2013 contract is reported to encompass the following remuneration package; $430,000 in salary per year
Mr Marshall is also seeking $100,000 in damages for “distress and suffering”

As for the voice of Yinlin in the original Chinese voice over
we couldn’t find any information on her other than her name is Xiao Liansha
We’re unsure if this is her first voice-acting role or if she’s played in anything else in the past

Home » Ghost of Tsushima » Ghost of Tsushima Gosaku Armor Location Map – Key Locations
Gosaku’s Armor is one of the outfits in Ghost of Tsushima
You’ll get it as a reward for completing a certain mythic tale
and you’ll have to find six Gosaku keys to do it
Some of those keys are in the later areas of the game
so you won’t be able to get the armor quickly
If you’re wondering where to find the outfit
this guide wil show you Ghost of Tsushima Gosaku’s Armor location
The Key of Koshimizu is found in the Kushi region in Toyotama
you’ll need to rescue the hostages at Koshimizu Farmstead
The seventh Masako tale will bring you here at one point
defeat the Mongol guards in the garden and rescue three hostages
you’ll need to rescue all three hostages
The last hostage will give you the Key of Koshimizu
and you can get it without liberating the farm
This Mongol-infested settlement is located in southwestern Toyotama
This time you’ll have to rescue four hostages
while the other two are a bit deeper into the land
which means the hostages can easily get hurt
try dealing with some of them from stealth
The Key of Yagata is kept as a treasure at Yagata Farmstead
The third rescued hostage will give you the key
after thinking it was Gosaku himself who saved them
you’ll need to defeat an enemy with a sticky bomb
but the groups are not close to each other
so you don’t have to worry about pulling two at the same time
You’ll get the next Gosaku Key from the Kuta farmstead
If you follow the path southeast from Golden Temple
The main objective is to rescue three hostages
The bonus one is to defeat five enemies without taking any damage
Having those technique points invested in stealth makes it much easier
The Key of Ohama is in an Izuhara settlement – Ohama village
It’s in the southwestern part of the first map
as the orange color spills over from the sky onto the landscape
you’ll need to defeat five enemies in a row without taking any damage
and enemies not being clustered in one spot
This Mongol-occupied place is in the far southwestern corner of the Izuahara map
Rescuing the third one will net you the last key
There’s also a super easy bonus objective – to defeat an enemy from above
