Kuji-kiri are spots places where Naoe meditates
and tend to be tucked away in remote locations — which means that finding all Kuji-kiri locations in Assassin’s Creed Shadows mandates navigating some mountainous
we’ll go over what Kuji-kiri are and show you where to find all the Kuji-kiri locations in the game
Update (April 4): We’ve added additional Kuji-kiri locations
Kuji-kiri are meditation spots used by Naoe
and you’ll need to complete at least four to finish the first part of her storyline
Interact with a Kuji-kiri to trigger a mini-game with a button-prompt sequence
Various button inputs will appear on the screen
and you’ll have to tap them in the correct order in the correct timing to complete the mini-game
You’ll get one knowledge point for every Kuji-kiri you complete
that Yasuke won’t be able to play these objectives — you must switch to Naoe to start a Kuji-kiri
For the first four Kuji-kiri you complete will then automatically start a flashback quest
You must complete this quest (which will easily take between 10 and 30 minutes) before you return to the main open-world
Below, we’ll detail all Kuji-kiri locations we’ve found, organized by province, in the general order in which you go through these provinces in the main story
The first province in Assassin’s Creed Shadows contains five Kuji-kiri locations
which is more than you’ll find in the rest
You’ll find most of them in the hills east of Osaka
Take note that one of these Kuji-kiri locations is inside the Hideout
Since this one is particularly effortless to reach
they’re all fairly close to synchronization points
making them easier to reach via fast travel
the Kuji-kiri west of Shoryuji is the trickiest to reach
but there’s a road you can follow from the castle
No need to traverse that huge lake; the two Kuji-kiri locations in Omi
Neither is particularly close to a viewpoint
so there’s no treacherous climbing involved
If you’re up for a blast from the past in Naoe’s home region
the two Kuji-kiri locations you must find are located in the northeast and southwest
The one in the northeast is right next to Naoe’s house
The western province of Harima houses two Kuji-kiri locations
The one on Mount Sen is next to a viewpoint
but beware that the Kuji-kiri in the northwest is very remote
so it’s best to tackle it as soon as you’ve found it and save yourself a lengthy return trip
There are two Kuji-kiri spots in the eastern province of Yamato
is especially interesting if you’re looking to boost your Knowledge Rank
as it’s right next to a Temple with Lost Pages and a Shrine
both Kuji-kiri locations in Yamato are fairly close to a viewpoint
so you can easily teleport back if you’d rather tackle them later
You will find two Kuji-kiri locations in Wakasa
and the other is very close to Omi in the east
Beware that the one in the east is very remote
so it’s best to postpone a visit if you aren’t eager to use the Kuji-kiri spot right away
The northwestern province of Tamba has two Kuji-kiri locations
Both are quite straighforward to find since they’re not as remote as some previous locations
The eastern one is inside a town called Kameyama
and the western one is south of Miyazu Bay — just follow the road towards the south to reach this Kuji-kiri spot
The southernmost region in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
but the southern one is hard to miss if you follow the road along the shoreline
southeast of the Maruyama Shrine viewpoint
And that concludes this guide to all Kuji-kiri locations in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

How to find all of the meditation spots at the start of AC Shadows
What is Kuji-kiri and how do you unlock and find spots for this activity in Assassin's Creed Shadows? Kuji-kiri is an activity found in Assassin's Creed Shadows that Naoe can do
It involves finding a quiet spot to sit down and meditate
and is an important part of the individual questline called "Naoe's Journey," which spans a good portion of the campaign
This questline plays a significant role in the campaign
alongside your quest to hunt down the Shinbakufu
and engaging in Kuji-kiri is great for learning Naoe's backstory and life in Iga up to when you first see her at the start of the game
You can't just sit and meditate anywhere though
You instead have to look out for locations that will also display an orange icon illustrating a meditating figure
This icon also doesn't appear until you're near a meditation spot
though if you see question mark icons on the world map
it's quite possible that they might be Kuji-kiri locations
This guide will explain where you can find the four Kuji-kiri spots in the starting region of Izumi Setts
as well as what the Kuji-kiri minigame entails
These are all of the Kuji-kiri locations in Izumi Settsu:
This is the first Kuji-kiri you're likely to find as the shrine is en route from Makinoodera Temple
where you leave once you're fully recovered following the events of the prologue
As you'll be on the story quest to find Tomiko
and along that path you will discover Eboshigata Hachiman Shrine on your left
As you past the torii gate and head up the steps
the orange Kuji-Kiri icon should also appear
so head to that spot and sit down to begin your meditation
As soon as you've unlocked the hideout after reuniting with Tomiko
you'll discover there's actually a Kuji-kiri spot there
Just head to the very east side of the map and you'll find it on a small spot of land in a pond surrounded by waterfalls and a cherry tree
you ought to come across this one as you travel southwest and come to the sub-region Katano Foothills
Keep following this path and you will reach a place called Rolling Glen where you will find a Kuji-kiri spot in front of a Torii gate
and where you can also see Osaka castle in the far distance
The fourth one is a little out of the way from the others as you actually have to cross a river to get to it
It also doesn't have a specific location name but is technically in the sub-region of Nakayama Peak
though much closer to bordering with Amagasaki - in fact
there is a Kakurega safehouse you can unlock very nearby
If you go west from either Amagasaki Castle or the Amagasaki Kakurega
stick to the coast and you'll find the Kuji-kiri spot just as you leave Amagasaki over a small bridge
The meditation spot is under a tree and overlooking the sea
interact with it as Naoe and she kneel at that spot and get into a position to meditate
This takes the form of a rhythm minigame where button icons will appear in a diamond formation on screen (this can either be directional inputs
A ring will appear around an icon and you have to wait until it has shrunk around the icon before pressing the corresponding button
These rings appear in a clockwise direction
but will start to fade the more zen you get
You'll need to stay in sync to the rhythm and keep pressing at the right time until you start seeing kanji characters appear where the button icons once were
The visuals on screen will also start turning monochrome
displaying all the button icons again and forcing you to complete the mini-game from the beginning
be aware that your press counts as long as you do so when the ring is on the faint but thick circle around the button image
It's therefore better for your timing to be early than late
completing the minigame will flashback to her story before the events in the prologue
and you'll be thrown into a substantial playable mission
As the flashbacks occur in chronological order
leading up to the moment you first see her from the start of the game
it shouldn't matter what order you find these Kuji-Kiri spots
Completing Kuji-kiri will also earn you 500 XP and 1 Knowledge point
which you need to unlock Naoe and Yasuke's Mastery skill tree tiers
That's it for the Kuji-kiri locations in Izumi Settsu, which should also then allow you to advance the next part of "Naoe's Journey." For more on Assassin's Creed Shadows, check out our guides on how to change characters and whether Naoe or Yasuke is the better choice for you

Kuji-Kiri is a side activity exclusive to Naoe in Assassin's Creed Shadows
Kuji-Kiri are places where Naoe can settle down and meditate for a short period of time. It's also highly important to her storyline in Assassin's Creed Shadows as you won't be able to fully understand her journey unless you've visited some of the Kuji-Kiri locations
is that Naoe sure loves meditating up in the mountains
we've got a map of every Kuji-Kiri location in Assassin's Creed Shadows down below
We've also taken a quick look at how to complete Kuji-Kiri if you're yet to try out this side activity
If you'd like more assassination assistance, visit our Assassin's Creed Shadows tips hub where all of our guides are listed
Here are all of the Kuji-Kiri locations in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Credit goes to Map Genie for the creation of this interactive map - thank you for letting us use it
When searching for Kuji-Kiri locations in Assassin's Creed Shadows
keep an eye out for a circular mat with an orange icon of Naoe sitting down
it's time to sit down and begin meditating
The process of meditating is a simple button-pressing mini-game where you have to
press the buttons in the right order and at the right time
the buttons will begin to fade away (presumably because Naoe is entering a more meditative state) and you'll have to hope you've picked up on the sequence's pattern to succeed
The buttons will appear on-screen again to help you out before gradually fading into the background once more
For completing a Kuji-Kiri, you'll receive XP and one Knowledge Point. These are used to unlock new skills and can also be earned through other activities, such as finding the lost pages in temples like Byodoin Temple
It's also important to note that the first four Kuji-Kiri you complete will send you into a side mission connected to Naoe's past
so keep this in mind if you want to focus on the main campaign for a while
they are fundamental to understanding Naoe's backstory

Wallets belonging to the Kujira Foundation
which builds and contributes to running Cosmos-based Kujira
started to see their KUJI holdings automatically liquidated on Thursday as some of their leveraged positions on the protocol became bad debt to the tune of millions of dollars
The liquidations occurred as loans taken by Kujira from their publicly allocated KUJI tokens became undercollateralized during a period of general market volatility
Liquidations are the automatic closure of a trader’s leveraged position due to a partial or total loss of their initial margin
They can be stopped in time if a trader tops up funds to keep their position open

In a Telegram broadcast message on Thursday
a Kujira team member said the leverage positions were taken out in the hope they would drive value across the network’s set of applications
we thought the best use of a portion of ops funds would be to leverage and deploy across the ecosystem to bootstrap liquidity and activity,” a @team_kujira member wrote on Telegram
"We genuinely felt like this was the correct course of action.”
“Sadly this coincided with various attacks
Not trying to feel sorry for ourselves but just explaining the sequence of events
and it’s been a constant fight since these positions were created,” they wrote
Kujira had more than $124 million worth of funds locked at its March 2024 peak
The value was down to $50 million earlier this week and $35 million on Friday morning following the KUJI token liquidations
In a Friday post on X, the team said it would create a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) – an organization managed in whole or in part using a blockchain-based voting system – to take ownership of the Kujira Treasury and core protocols “with an initial mandate to safely reduce debt.” It said there was 14 million KUJI
“This DAO will also assume control of the configuration of the core Kujira Protocols,” the team wrote
this will create transparency over how these protocols run
and allow the community to propose changes that will be voted on by members of the DAO.”

The American entrepreneur tells us how she turned a side hustle into a business
Los Angeles-native Audrey Lamsam remembers the first time she sold a high-value item on eBay
she made $1,000 from her mother’s old Louis Vuitton bag and used that money to fund a trip to Europe
Fifteen years on and she is now living in Japan as the CEO and founder of Aitai Japan Inc
the company that owns the e-commerce store
“I’ve been buying and selling stuff online since high school,” says Lamsam
such as anime items from blog sites like LiveJournal or online stores
I’d resell them to someone who wanted them
It was very common to do this within the community.”
In today’s era where online shopping is the norm and tools like Shopify
it feels like a no-brainer to exchange cash for goods over the internet with strangers
But Lamsam’s beginnings occurred when many of these transactions were peer-to-peer and trust-based
Her familiarity with early internet shopping protocol helped her turn a side hustle into a business that now employs almost 20 staff members
Armed with a college background in economics
she also had the business acumen and skills to start her own company here
one of my hobbies was reading Japanese news and updates on anime and video games I liked and translating them for English-speaking fandoms,” says Lamsam
focusing on popular franchises such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts
I noticed there was a huge market for anime merchandise domestically that people abroad would also want as well,” she says
the communities I was part of placed a lot of trust in me
In her first few years, Lamsam juggled her day job in online marketing with her blog translating news while also buying and selling merchandise. As her platform grew — Lamsam now has over 120,000 followers on X
formerly known as Twitter — so did the demand for merchandise
The turning point for her side hustle came when she began to earn more from it than from the salary she received from her day job
which she quit after some soul-searching and risk assessment
The process of opening her own company and self-sponsoring her visa then began
Just like starting a business in any other part of the world
and that the income was going to be sustainable
Being fluent in Japanese meant Lamsam didn’t need to rely on an intermediary
She could consult directly with real estate agents and lawyers for her business
Aitai Kuji attracts a diverse consumer base from all over the world due to the mainstream success of anime
A business related to otaku subculture isn’t all just fun and games
Some of the challenges Lamsam faced are in the same vein as any other startup
“The shift from hiring friends to hiring actual people for my company was a challenge
We started off with just me and then my sister
When you’re building a business on your own
You just need people to start doing things immediately,” says Lamsam
“I highly recommend entrepreneurs to invest in human resources early on,” she continues
“People issues can be tough to navigate and
you want to create a happy environment where the team feels motivated and are working towards the same goal.”
business success isn’t just about sales figures
What’s important to her is to make an impact and hear that her customers had a positive experience
“I’ve been invited to several gaming and anime events as media
and official staff sometimes recognize me and tell me they’ve seen my content
They tell me I provide information about their IPs that maybe even they didn’t know about
These types of comments are very rewarding because they show that
the content I talk about does add value to the experience
“Aitai Kuji usually has a booth each year at Anime Expo in Los Angeles as well as other conventions too,” adds Lamsam
“I’ve been invited to various conventions as a guest
such as earlier this year at Katsucon 2023
Each time is a great experience as we are able to build a closer relationship with existing and new customers
The unfortunate reality of the industry is that it is very male-oriented
some business partners are surprised when they find out I’m the founder and that I’m also not Japanese,” says Lamsam
“Sometimes new clients prefer to speak to male staff
there are also business nuances that transcend language
“Foreigners tend to make the mistake of being very forward
Japanese businesspeople prefer to take their time to discuss and consider all possibilities
The best thing you can do is learn to adapt and keep your main goal in sight
The name Aitai Kuji comes from Lamsam’s own online username “Aitaikimochi,” which in turn is the name of a 2000s song by J-Rock band
“Aitai” means “to want to meet” in Japanese
represents the community’s desire to “meet” Japan and for the business to connect people with Japan through its goods and services
Next year marks the company’s ninth fiscal year of operations
“There’s still so much more we can do,” says Lamsam
“We’ve begun manufacturing products in the past few years and collaborating with official companies to develop exclusive items
Maybe one day we’ll even live up to our name and have kuji games of our own.”

“Everyone was so clean and respectful,” Trueblood recalled
“I don’t think I saw one piece of trash in the whole city.”
The trip taught Trueblood about more than just the cultural differences between the United States and Japan—she learned a bit about human nature
“One of my big takeaways from this trip was that it doesn’t matter who you are
where you live or what language you speak—we are all human,” Trueblood said
“The most important thing is to love one another
even if you’re halfway across the world or right next door.”

Following on with our Artist Interview series
we have Kuji who conjures up distinctive styled Jrock portraits with beautiful contrasting tones in both monochrome and vibrant colors
Kuji’s art has a certain softness balanced with sharpness from the pencils for the tiny details
so be sure to watch out for the textures of the hair in the artwork below
we’ll be talking to Kuji about restarting one’s journey for art after giving up school to work and support the family
I continued my education until 2nd year of college
I didn’t get to finish my studies as I needed to work for my family
I didn’t have the time to draw at all so my skills came to a standstill
I stopped working after a year and I got back to drawing again
This time I started drawing visual kei fan art
Back then I drew almost everyday since I had a lot of time
I tried using different mediums like charcoal
That’s when I believe I started improving a lot
Though until now I still continue to experiment in my methods in drawing
At that time I didn’t have any idea what visual kei was so seeing the GazettE for the very first time astounded me
They were so cool and I thought they looked like characters from a video game or anime
I never thought such beautiful creatures existed
From thereon I started looking for other visual kei bands and my interest in that genre grew
It wasn’t purely because of the visual look that attracted me to these bands but their music most importantly
They’re unique and definitely something I’ve not heard from other bands before
For me it’s very important to choose your subject carefully
but I also believe it helps to like the subject(s) you choose to draw because the motivation to finish comes easier
I’m the type who’d finish a fan art no matter what
There are times that I get demotivated but what I usually do to combat that is to distract myself for a while and then get back to drawing again
then I stop for the day and resume the next
there’s certainly a lot of great inspirations in the visual kei community
