It has grown into one of the world's largest registered Angus herds
with 2500 females on the 7000-hectare property 50 kilometres south of the Russian border
Last weekend marked another significant milestone
with the Black Angus Farm No 1 stud holding its first annual on-property production sale at Sever Agro N's Karabalyk property
The sale attracted 150 people including some from Almaty which is 2000km on the southern border
46 bulls sold to a $3650 high and averaged $3250 in Australian dollars
The sale featured progeny of bulls from four leading Australian studs bought in the 2013 selling season
The bulk of the genetics were from the DiGiorgio family's Sterita Park stud
Also represented in the catalogue were sons of bulls from Te Mania
with the first successful bidder taking them all at $3200
