(ABC 6 News) – Kelly Holkesvik doesn’t remember the last time she participated in an easter egg hunt
The fun Holkesvik is referring to was the kind only people over the age of 21 could participate in
such as the dozens who hunted for Easter eggs in the adults only egg hunt at Shar’s Country Palace
Some people were just finishing Easter plans with their family
while others marked the adult egg hunt as the sole activity for the holiday
Regardless of people’s reasons for popping by
many had a blast at the bar enjoying time with their friends and hunting for Easter eggs
Throughout the bar plastic eggs were hidden full of money
Susan McHugh said the event is in its 15th year and keeps growing
“It used to be a couple people would show up and we’d hide thirty
forty eggs and now it’s one hundred fifty eggs,” McHugh said
The people at the bar love it as they sit around drinking adult beverages
munching on the sought after candy and noodling around with the trinket toys they found
The excitement around the event is no surprise to McHugh
She said it brings out people’s inner child
“They’ll be kind of scouring around the bar looking for the eggs before they’re even allowed to pick them up,” McHugh said
people stuck around to throw darts and chat
McHugh read off raffle numbers for bigger prizes
the event brought people together for some classic Easter fun that can make any adult feel like a kid again

From dressing up her boys to investing in timeless versatile pieces
mom of two and co-founder of Suki Jewelry Shar Cabigas on how motherhood has gently yet profoundly reshaped her sense of style
This is an excerpt from the MEGA May 2025 Stylephile
Shar Cabigas has mastered anticipating sudden shifts in her routine
from last minute work meetings to spontaneous playdates and evening commitments
She has learned to build her everyday wardrobe around this unpredictability
opting for outfits that transition effortlessly from day to night
she sticks to her go-to formula: a button-down with relaxed jeans or tailored trousers or a tee with a midi skirt
usually paired with low-court heels or ballet flats
so I always have an oversized blazer or jacket on hand
It’s both my comfort layer and style staple
I start with my two favorites for accessories: my reset engagement ring and a signet that never leaves my pinky
I’m currently into quietly impactful pieces and a roomy bag that fits everything—from snacks to a few toys to my laptop!”
RELATED: Bella Racelis: Timeless, Authentic, and Ever-evolving
the pieces she has been reaching for these days reflect where she is in life: grounded
or a pop of color can instantly refresh a classic look.”
“(Motherhood) taught me to value versatility
without ever compromising who I am,” Cabigas reflects
She describes her style as “finding harmony between restraint and creativity
In 2018, she and her husband Aaron co-founded Suki, the fine jewelry line that has become a favorite among celebrities and stylish millennials
Managing the brand as its co-founder and marketing lead is profoundly intimate and personal for Cabigas
who sees Suki as an extension not just of her personal style but of who she is as a person
and creating jewelry that lasts—pieces that layer into your life
and say something about who you are without the need to speak.”
Cabigas and her husband’s creative collaborations go beyond the brand they built together; they also manifest when it comes to dressing the entire family
whether it’s the power couple’s color-coordinated ensembles
or the family’s monochromatic winter outfits
“Styling my children has become a creative outlet for me—surprisingly therapeutic
I genuinely enjoy children’s clothing and love the art of mixing prints
Getting them dressed and ready is another story

Artist Shar Coulson understands the healing power of art firsthand
When she was diagnosed with endocarditis in 2021
Coulson underwent emergency open-heart surgery that likely saved her life
During the first month and a half of her recovery
she created a single drawing each day on Canson paper based on what she describes as hallucinations that danced behind her closed eyelids while heavily sedated in the days immediately following the surgery
“What remained imprinted in my mind were pulsating shapes in vivid color that brought unexpected calm during a critical time.” These memories flowed from mind to paper in the months that followed
resulting in “Night Sight,” her title for the series
Coulson feels as though creating art hastened her recovery
and what came from that otherworldly experience is the work now on view at the International Museum of Surgical Science
evokes a visual similar to what Coulson saw with her closed eyes
giving each a jewel-like quality that engages the viewer and encourages studying one piece at a time
The drawings themselves are exquisitely delicate
their white pencil lines almost thread-like
with patches of color that seem to spontaneously appear or to bleed through the paper
who is known for her organic forms that lean toward the botanical and vibrant
in waxed and chalk-pastel pencils and acrylic paint are almost miniature in comparison
The subtlety of this work initiates a new genre for her
a way of making work perfectly suited to both the materials and space at hand while she was recovering in bed
think for a moment what it would be like to “see” through your eyelids
or to see images with the inside of your eyelids as a screen on which they are projected via the lights beyond them
one wonders if the lights of the ICU filtered through her lids
creating the cobweb-like elements and the spreading color
if the medication was partly responsible for the hallucinations
the museum has curated an assortment of items from their collection of coronary objects and models
as well as video and didactic materials from Rush University Medical Center
The fact that February is National Heart Month makes this exhibition immediate and appropriate
and those viewing the show are richer for it

The Thorm Mausoleum puzzle involves three paintings and a lot of traps
Let’s get started and solve this puzzle
press a series of buttons beneath the three paintings in the following order:
The paintings adorn the walls of a tomb at the very back of the mausoleum
straight ahead from the doors you enter through
One shows Moonrise Towers, another a grieving man next to a corpse, and finally a mighty king sitting on a throne. Disarm the traps you'll find dotted around the tomb first (use Baldur's Gate 3 companion Astarion for this
if you're less proficient with traps and lockpicking)
If you don't disarm the traps and make a mistake
the room will be engulfed in thick black smoke and you'll have trouble moving around
but keep going around and pressing the buttons in the above order until all paintings glow blue and the walls either side of the last painting draw back
Now you can take the elevator down to the Gauntlet of Shar to continue your adventure - you've just completed the Thorm Mausoleum puzzle!© GamesRadar+

I am interested in the Tigard City Council position as I am passionate about contributing to the community where I live and enhancing the quality of life for all residents
This role presents an opportunity to make a tangible impact
shaping the future of Tigard through thoughtful policymaking and my commitment to serving the community through public service
I have always been committed to community development and civic engagement
I have been actively involved in various local initiatives and organizations that aim to improve our city’s infrastructure
Serving on the City Council would allow me to leverage my experience
diverse perspective and dedication to effect positive change on a larger scale
and while I won’t delve into the darker aspects
it gave me a clear understanding of just how fragile the support systems we depend on can be for the most vulnerable
as an adult who’s come through that experience
I want to use this perspective to serve the community by advocating for more inclusive policies
and what are you proposing we do about it?
Addressing Affordable Housing: The most pressing issue facing the 2024 (and ongoing) Tigard City Council is the lack of affordable housing
This challenge is critical because it directly affects the quality of life for many residents
and impacts the overall social fabric of our community that reverbs without limitat Without affordable housing options
and local businesses struggle to attract and retain workers
This domino affect makes it harder to entice and keep businesses and residents attracted to Tigard
We need to continue to move residents of Tigard from being “severely rent burdened” to long term affordable housing
I will continue to work with our local and regional counterparts to address the various degrees of affordability
I will continue to push zoning measures to be inclusionary and that there are rent stability protections for those who continue to rent
I will continue to support streamlining the development process and reduce regulatory barriers and lastly
engaging with the community and bringing awareness and transparency on what is being accomplished.

SHAR witnessed its market capitalization skyrocket to over $50 million before crashing by 95% within hours of its launch
This sharp decline has drawn the attention of the crypto community with accusations of insider manipulation and market control or a “classic rugpull scheme”
On-chain investigator ZachXBT took to Twitter to reveal that the potential rugpull in SHAR token is linked to a coordinated effort involving a conspiracy group and key opinion leader (KOL) manipulation
His findings have stirred concerns about the ethics and transparency in the project’s promotion
ZachXBT said that over 50 tier-1 crypto KOLs have been associated with the SHAR project and they have shilled the token to their millions of followers
He also said that a number of KOLs from this list have deleted their promotion tweet for SHAR soon after the rugpull happened.
An earlier report from Lookonchain revealed that the insider wallet dumped 500 million SHAR tokens – equivalent to 50% of the total supply – in a single transaction
resulting in profit of 19,620 SOL or approximately $3.38 million
This massive sale was a key factor in the price collapse with wiping out 96% of SHAR’s market cap within hours
one of the suspect 0XSun admitted to collaborating with the SHAR project but emphasized that his involvement was not purely motivated by promotional fees.
I definitely don’t want fans to lose money
My original intention was to cooperate in promotion and publicity on the premise that I was optimistic about the project
it would be a win-win for all three parties.” 0XSun said on Twitter
it is really hard to prevent the project party from doing evil
both KOL and fans were victims and had to fight each other
while the project party reaped the benefits.”
The sudden crash has sparked outrage among investors
many of whom are demanding answers and compensation
this incident serves as a stark reminder of the volatility and risks associated with memecoins and the importance of due diligence in the crypto space

This choice near the end of Act 2 has huge consequences
Act 2 of Baldur's Gate 3 picks up the pace
After fighting your way through the Shadowlands and delving into the Gauntlet of Shar
the source of Ketheric Thorm's immortality is revealed
and it's up to you to either kill the Nightsong or wield her as a weapon of light
this story arc has massive implications for her—do you want her to stay a follower of Shar
The choices you make will have massive consequences going forward
so beware of spoilers for this section of Act 2
(Image credit: Larian Studios)(Image credit: Larian Studios)The cheesy Balthazar strategy (easy) If you've left Balthazar alive to help you discover the secret to Ketheric Thorm's immortality
he'll show up here to take the Nightsong back to Thorm
a very easy way to beat this fight: ambush him using stealth before he can get monologuing
simply sneak your party behind Balthazar (shift + C on your keyboard) while he's distracted and attack him
you might be able to smite him to death during the surprise round
there's another layer of defence: Counterspell
he'll open with an uninterruptible Animate Dead
which summons an entire horde of skeletons that turn the fight from a butchering into a genuine boss battle
he'll cast Animate Dead in full view of your spellcasters
which means your caster will need to succeed on a difficulty 16 ability check to counter it
Quicksave beforehand in case you need a mulligan—this is a cheese strategy
Balthazar turns from a fierce adversary into a complete chump
While it's a very D&D approach to simply jump the DM's big bad while their back is turned
you might want to take on the fight as 'intended'
letting Balthazar cast Animate Dead turns the fight into a proper brawl
Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals
Having both a Paladin and a Cleric makes this fight a lot easier
While Balthazar can't be thwarted with Turn Undead
and Divine Smite's bonus d8 against undead still applies to him
so your number one priority is to run him down and kill him
He has an aura that makes his skeletons resistant to physical damage
an arsenal of spells like Ray of Sickness that can reduce your damage
he's very fragile and will go down to a couple of turns of focus fire
keep his skeletons busy with Channel Divinity: Turn Undead
The mages are the biggest threat after Balthazar
as some come equipped with a Sleep spell that forces you to spend one of your four actions per round to shake your allies awake
as the destroyers/defenders will try to shove you off for a one-hit kill
it's just a matter of mopping up the field
then deciding what to do with Shadowheart and the captive Nightsong
if you let Balthazar take the Nightsong back to Thorm
so to let some necromancer run away with her is a massive betrayal
The first conversation options here are misleading
you might feel tempted to argue with her right away
none of these options actually seal the Nightsong's fate
and pushing too hard will make things worse
Don't give up on yourself" has a difficulty of 30—as Gale might put it
This check is impossible to beat without maxed charisma and persuasion expertise
If you keep pushing after failing this check
take a breather and respect her initial decision
getting through to her and giving you a golden opportunity to turn her back to the light
The persuasion option here has a much more manageable difficulty of 21
and Shadowheart will throw the Night Spear into the void (don't worry
casting Enhance Ability (Eagle's Splendour) before entering dialogue is a great way to ensure success
you can let Shadowheart kill the Nightsong
This has some gnarly consequences for the people back at the Last Light Inn
Shadowheart will become the leader of the Sharran church and a Dark Justiciar
slaying the daughter of Selune causes her magic to falter
While you might be tempted to kill the Nightsong and remove Thorm's immortality
rest assured that there are no negative consequences to freeing her in Act 2
so freeing the Nightsong breaks that connection and earns you a powerful ally
Harvey RandallSocial Links NavigationStaff WriterHarvey's history with games started when he first begged his parents for a World of Warcraft subscription aged 12
though he's since been cursed with Final Fantasy 14-brain and a huge crush on G'raha Tia
He'll sink his teeth into anything that looks interesting
He also plays a shelf load of TTRPGs in his offline time
Don't ask him what his favourite system is
You'll need to pass Religion and Arcana checks to get the +2 bonus
You can sacrifice a memory of your choice for an ability score reduction
you can sacrifice your Forbidden Knowledge condition instead
Use Remove Curse to get rid of that -2 afterwards
Sell some memories for an ability score bonus
you probably spent far too long exploring the room
before giving up and abandoning the broken mirror
The good news is that there's another Mirror of Loss in Act 3 and you can actually interact with this one properly
If you've been to the House of Grief in the Lower City to complete Shadowheart's quest
you'll find this mirror in the Chamber of Loss on the lowest level of the cult's headquarters
the mirror will bestow you with an ability score buff
here's how to use the Mirror of Loss in Baldur's Gate 3
Once you interact with the Mirror of Loss in the House of Grief
you'll need to pass one of two possible intelligence-based skill checks to understand its purpose:
Recent updatesYou can bypass this skill check entirely by first reading a "hastily written note" in the Night Orchid Cave located at (X:-377 Y:-1697) behind the Cloister of Sombre Embrace armory beneath the House of Grief
you should also pray to the mirror by passing a Religion check (Difficulty Class 25) before you offer up one of your memories to it
sacrificing a memory will allow you to trade -2 in one ability score for +2 in another
you might want to stack the odds in your favour by using Withers to temporarily respec the desired character's Intelligence as high as it can possibly go
having your party members cast Enhance Ability (Fox's Cunning) on that character
and having both a Bard and a Cleric on standby ready to use Bardic Inspiration and Guidance to help out
You can also make sure to go to the mirror with four Inspiration points to-hand
It's worth noting that you only have access to the top memory response if you've read the Necromancy of Thay and acquired the Forbidden Knowledge condition
The Deception choice also won't result in any bonus
After you've received your -2 in a chosen ability score
Once you've got both -2 and +2 in your chosen ability scores
you can use the Remove Curse spell from Shadowheart to get rid of the -2
which appears in the form of the Stolen Vigour condition
It's worth noting that if you aren't able to pass the Religion check praying to the mirror
it'll only give you -2 in an ability score and no bonus
you should definitely choose to sacrifice your Forbidden knowledge from reading the Necromancy of Thay
as that will let you choose a +2 even if you failed the Religion check

Jimmie Mongoo wears his son's favourite footy shirt while relaxing at home
after long shifts operating a crane at a mine
It's one way he can feel close to Brenton
his 37-year-old son who has been missing for almost a year
"His hobbies were watching the football
especially the Hawks … so I wear it every time I'm home," explained Jimmie
Brenton Shar vanished from the coastal Western Australia town of Geraldton
about four hours' drive north of Perth
The disappearance of Brenton has devastated his parents
partner Kasey and their two young daughters
Jimmie Mongoo’s son Brenton went missing from their home town of Geraldton in Western Australia
Jimmie's bond with his son had strengthened after Brenton moved back to Geraldton five years ago
Their relationship as adults deepened after a disconnection during Brenton's childhood
Jimmie spends most mornings driving around town looking for any clues that could lead to his son's whereabouts
"It hurts a lot for me to just be doing it every day
I just break down thinking whether I'm going to find anything or not
and how I will react," Jimmie said behind the wheel of his ute
Jimmie Mongoo is still searching for his son Brenton
Brenton and Kasey had been together for about five years and had two little girls under the age of three
he was staying at his dad Jimmie's house
he goes to his dad's and cools off and then comes back home," said Kasey
Kasey and Brenton had been together for about five years when he disappeared
Brenton had dropped past his home with Kasey to pick up some groceries before heading back to his father's
she had no reason to think this would be the last time she would ever see her partner
"Last I knew he was watching a movie [at Jimmie's house] and having some food and resting up on the couch," Kasey remembered
There's a moment from that evening that haunts Kasey
a puzzle she'll never be able to unpick
Brenton’s family say he was last seen near this service station
"My phone was ringing … I answered it
It was about 9pm that night when Brenton left his dad's house with his two nephews to buy cigarettes from the service station down the road
Jimmie says the last time he saw Brenton was walking down this road
Jimmie suspects Brenton may have gone out to buy drugs
He was worried his son's mental health had been going downhill
The next morning no-one could get in touch with Brenton
Kasey knew straight away something was wrong
This was totally out of character for the man she loved
"He's a person that always has his phone charged
and he always texts back or rings back … I always knew where he was," she said
driving around town looking for any sign of her partner
Kasey Burns says she and partner Brenton would text every day before he disappeared
"I went out searching everywhere pretty much
searching high and low … but no one's seen Brenton," she said
there are differing accounts of when the family contacted the police
WA Police told the ABC the first record on file of the family raising concerns occurred five days after Brenton went missing
But Jimmie is adamant he went to the police station to report Brenton missing the day after he disappeared and the response was dismissive
"The guy that I was talking to at the counter
the officer there … what I got off him was
just another blackfella," Jimmie said
Brenton Shar’s family feel they were treated dismissively by local police
The distraught father said the police assumed Brenton had "just wandered off" and was "visiting friends"
Relief came to the family when they heard Brenton had been spotted in town
information that Jimmie shared with the police
Brenton Shar was 37 years old when he disappeared in Geraldton
and two days later when Brenton was still nowhere to be found
the family raised the alarm again with the police
As the days rolled by with still no sign of Brenton
his partner Kasey desperately continued to follow every possible lead
"I couldn't sit home without getting up and coming down and searching
When she heard someone thought they'd seen him by the beach around the time he went missing
Kasey Burns says she searched day and night for her missing partner
and I found his shorts," said Kasey through tears
standing on the beach for the first time since the difficult discovery
"I was just looking and started singing out for Brenton
I just felt like my soul left my body."
Kasey was hopeful this clue would lead to some answers
It took another nine days for police to confirm through CCTV and witness accounts that Brenton was wearing similar shorts the night he disappeared
A pair of missing man Brenton Shar’s shorts were found by the beach in Geraldton
Police divers arrived from Perth the following day to search the area
who told her the search had been unsuccessful and they were back to square one in their search for Brenton
"When [the police] rang me and told me on the phone
his family drove the streets of Geraldton looking for him
Kasey remembers the last conversation she had with detectives
"All the evidence they have leads into the ocean," Kasey said
this is just another painful detail that doesn't add up
"I've never known Brenton to go to the beach by himself … not at night time," she said
Brenton's loved ones are not only Indigenous family searching for a missing loved one
calling for more government and police resources to help find them
leading a protest march through their hometown of Geraldton
they can help other families struggling through the same ordeal
Hundreds of people marched in Broome in July last year
calling for answers after the disappearance of several Aboriginal men in Australia's north-west in recent years
"And for other people to notice," he added
Indigenous men are over-represented in long-term missing persons cases in comparison to non-Indigenous men in almost every Australian state and territory that records this data
At least 150 Indigenous men are missing long-term across the country — but the true number is likely much higher
as this figure does not capture every jurisdiction
the police could not supply the ABC with data
both citing the challenges to accurately record the Indigenous status of a missing person
it's impossible to determine the full scale of the problem
Greens Senator Dorinda Cox argues the collation of Indigenous status would help to understand the problem
guide preventative action to do something about it
what that means is that the family then go looking for their own answers
They are self-funding rallies and searches
which in 2025 is just unacceptable in a country as rich and as progressive as Australia."
Senator Cox says there's a story attached to every person that disappears
Senator Cox is now calling for a federal investigation into missing Indigenous men
what is the impact that's happening for successive victims and also their families?"
Remembering the people behind the numbers — brothers
uncles and cousins who are loved and missed drive the senator's call for an inquiry
There are at least 150 Indigenous men missing long-term across Australia
that's part of a community … there's a story that's attached to that," Senator Cox said
"There's a story about their life that they've lived and their life that every one of their family members
Brenton Shar’s family describe him as “full of laughter and fun”
Jimmie Mongoo remembers Brenton not as a missing person
always wanted to joke with his family and friends and everything
he really loved his children," he said
Brenton was close with his two older brothers
"The three of them grew up together… couldn't tell them apart
They used to be called the three amigos because they were always together," he said
Jimmie misses Brenton desperately and often sits on the verandah with a cup of tea
hoping his son will one day wander up the street
Jimmie Mongoo describes his sons as the "three amigos"
Tucked away in a lab in Canberra among hills and ridges with walking trails
forensic teams from the Australian Federal Police have what they say could be the key to solving some of those long-term missing persons cases
The potential for closure rests with the more than 700 unidentified human remains currently held by police and coroners around Australia
members of the public may come across items
be concerned that they could be of human origin," said Joanne Cameron
who is Acting Assistant Commissioner and Commander of Forensics for the AFP
Commander of Forensics for the Australian Federal Police Joanne Cameron says more missing persons cases could be solved by analysing unidentified remains
Over a four-year period up to 2024, the AFP's National DNA Program examined 99 unknown human remains, solving 19 long-term missing persons cases, however none are believed to be Indigenous people.
"A majority of those cases were actually solved through DNA analysis, so matching [a] DNA profile which was recovered from the remains against reference samples that were provided by the families of the missing persons," said forensic biologist Michelle Spiden.

Federal government funding for the DNA testing program ended last year. The remains will now only be examined on a case-by-case basis when requested by police or coroners.
"As we work towards helping identify those human remains … I have no doubt we will find closure on some of our long-term missing persons cases," Ms Cameron said.
"The unambiguous loss that families feel while they wonder what happened to their loved one can never, ever be understated."
Brenton's father and partner continue to search and hope, but the emotional toll is high.
"As his father, I felt like it should have been my thing to find him," Jimmie said during one of his searches for his son.
Brenton's partner Kasey shared her heartache, knowing her two girls will grow up without their dad.
"He was a fun dad, always playing and interacting with the girls," she said.
Brenton’s family say his young daughters still wonder where he is. (Supplied)
Their two and three-year-old daughters aren't quite old enough to understand that Brenton most likely isn't coming home, said Kasey. They still ask where their dad is hiding.
"They're wondering where Dad is because they always look for him in the house. They look for him still," she said.
Jimmie describes his granddaughter searching for Brenton under the beds.
"She came up and grabbed me by the face, and just stared in my eyes and said, 'look, Pop, where is he now?'" he said, with a sad laugh.
WA Police told the ABC's Indigenous Affairs Team that from the time the family first raised welfare concerns, it conducted "extensive inquiries" into Brenton's whereabouts, which included patrols, drones, and reviewing CCTV.
"Many hundreds of investigative actions have been and continue to be undertaken by police to determine Mr Shar's whereabouts," it said in a statement.
In those crucial early days, Jimmie felt there was little communication from the police.

"I've never really had any information that they were doing all this stuff, and as far as I'm aware, myself and my family were doing it all," Jimmie said.
WA Police told the ABC in a statement that it remained committed to finding answers for families of missing persons and provides regular updates to families throughout an investigation via phone and in-person meetings.

the associated security risks are shared among the four protected areas,” said Mosello
The workshop provided an opportunity to present
discuss and validate findings from an ongoing study to assess the baseline of illegal logging in Shar/Šara Mountains and Korab Massif Area
assess the security implications for populations and ecosystems
and provide targeted recommendations for regional stakeholders
examples of international initiatives to tackle environmental crimes were provided from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute
"By bringing together representatives of park management authorities and municipalities of the protected areas
and hearing from them about challenges and opportunities for co-operation in the area of climate change and forest governance
the OSCE and its partners are ensuring inclusive approaches within this pilot initiative
Through interactive discussions at the workshop
we have identified key areas for joint action and co-operation among stakeholders
which will provide a basis for future joint activities," said Ellen Baltzar Mossop
The workshop concluded with a visit to the village of Rabdishta
where participants could witness first-hand the work of park rangers in relation to sustainable forest management and the prevention of illegal logging
This workshop was organized within the framework of the OSCE extra-budgetary project “Strengthening responses to security risks from climate change in South-Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia”
which is implemented by OCEEA in partnership with adelphi and in close collaboration with the OSCE field operations
Shar Simpson (R) is the only child of actress Sigourney Weaver and theatre director Jim Simpson
Actress Sigourney Weaver might be best known for portraying Ellen Ripley in the Alien franchise
but she’s always said that it wasn’t her best role
In fact, her best and favourite role of all time is that of mother to her child, Shar Simpson
“[Shar] is absolutely the most important thing to me,” Weaver previously told The Guardian
Simpson is the child of Weaver and her husband Jim Simpson, who is a theatre director. The couple married in 1984 and welcomed Simpson in 1990.
Simpson is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. They’re currently an adjunct assistant professor at the Digital Storytelling Lab at Columbia University School of the Arts.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Albright Fashion Library (@albrightfashionlibrary)
Weaver told The Sunday Times that Simpson teaches “digital storytelling
misinformation” and is “someone who is excited about AI and not frightened about it.”
Not only is Simpson a professor, they have also dabbled in writing
publishing two Choose Your Own Adventure books – Eighth Grade Witch and Brooklyn Mermaid – under the pen name C.E
having designed haunted houses and collaborated on immersive experiences involving AI in the past
Simpson told VoyageLA: “I feel like my work is about those in-betweens
“There is so much complexity and depth to the unknown — the fragility and tenderness of ambiguity
I denied myself that space for a long time both in terms of my work and my personal identity,” they continued
Simpson also has a dual master’s degree at the California Institute of the Arts in writing and interactive media
choosing not to follow in their parents’ footsteps
“They’re not in the industry, bless their heart. It’s a nightmare for parents in the business when their child says, ‘I want to be in show business,’ because we really know what it entails,” Weaver told Parade in 2019
Despite not wanting to be a part of Hollywood
Simpson appeared in The Guys alongside their mother
The Guys is a film adaptation of an Anne Nelson play wherein an editor helps a fire caption write eulogies for members of his team who died during 9/11
Simpson played Weaver’s onscreen child in the movie and their father Jim play Weaver’s onscreen husband
Simpson’s one and only foray into acting – they seem to prefer teaching over the spotlight

2022 at 12:42 AM · I grew up in southeast lower Michigan
and I've been getting my violin strings and other accessories from SHAR for as long as I can remember
These days we have lots of places online to buy stuff
2022 at 01:23 AM · The Avsharian story is absolutely wonderful
And I love the fact that the people behind the business are all musicians
2022 at 06:31 AM · I've known Charles for well over 30 years
When we first met I was in my twenties and in Italy we were facing the same problem with prices of strings and accessories
I built a mail-order company with Shar as a model and Charles a mentor: maybe I reminded him of his 20-something self
Anyway it worked and we've been friends ever since
2022 at 01:46 PM · This is incredible
I knew that Charles Avsharian was a top notch musician from a little story in one of Arnold Steinhardt's books (probably "Violin Dreams") and it's great to read all these details

Bring Shadowheart back to the Cult of Shar
The House of Grief is an important location in Baldur's Gate 3's Daughter of Darkness questline
since it effectively marks the final sequence of Shadowheart's story
as you help her reckon with the past and face the Cult of Shar who raised her
Despite it being such an important quest step
it can be quite hard to find the House of Grief
or the Sharran lookout who Shadowheart mentions you should locate in Wyrm's Crossing
I spent a long time running around the area before I found the lookout
I'd already found the House of Grief in the Lower City
but hadn't realised it was the headquarters of the Sharran cloister
I'll explain where to find the Sharran lookout in Rivington
as well as how to get to the House of Grief
and what's worth investigating while you're there helping out Shadowheart
Get directed to "Investigate the House of Grief" by talking to one of two characters:
You'll find Ferg Drogher in the east of Rivington(Image credit: Larian)Talking to him will direct you to the cloister(Image credit: Larian)When you first arrive in Rivington during act three
you can find the Sharran lookout on the east side of the village
but he won't talk to you unless you speak to him
making it quite hard to figure out he's the lookout among all the refugees gathered
Speak to him with Shadowheart in your party
and you'll progress her Daughter of Darkness quest
you'll have access to the Lower City—the main area of Act 3
This is where you can find the House of Grief in the far northwest corner of the region
It'll take you a while to trek across the city
especially if you're easily distracted by NPCs and quests
but once you find the Baldur's Gate waypoint
head south until you reach the statue of Balduran
then go north across the bridge to find the House of Grief itself.
Sean MartinSenior Guides WriterSean's first PC games were Full Throttle and Total Annihilation and his taste has stayed much the same since
When not scouring games for secrets or bashing his head against puzzles
you'll find him revisiting old Total War campaigns
or still trying to finish the Horus Heresy
The Flawed Helldusk armour is a decent set
Plunder this rare metal to help your pal Karlach
which sees you repairing the engine in her chest
While you should find a fair bit of Infernal Iron if you're treasure savvy, it's more comparable to Soul Coins in terms of its rarity
so it can be helpful to have a few collected already if you want to progress the quest
I'll run through the Infernal Iron locations I have so far
plus who you need to see about fixing Karlach's engine
Infernal Iron is an important part of Karlach's companion quest. As you might know, the Tiefling barbarian has an infernal engine inside her, and while it makes her a great fighter, she does run a little hot. If you go and visit the Tiefling smith, Dammon
in the centre of the Emerald Grove settlement
he'll explain that the engine is actually going into overdrive and will kill her
unless you repair it with some of the rare metal
You'll need to locate some and bring a piece back to Dammon
He'll repair Karlach a bit and then tell you to meet him in Baldur's Gate later in the story
by which time he'll have more solutions to Karlach's problem
You can then find Dammon again during act 2 at the Last Light Inn with the other Tieflings
where he'll accept another piece of Infernal Iron to repair Karlach fully
It's also worth noting that if you Save the Emerald Grove and you haven't spoken to him with Karlach and started the quest to find the Infernal Iron
you won't be able to repair Karlach with Infernal Iron or talk to Dammon
though it's unrelated to all this Infernal Alloy stuff
2024Baldur's Gate 3 Gameplay Walkthrough - The Gauntlet of Shar TrialsThe Gauntlet of Shar is an important location in Baldur’s Gate 3 that is used for several Side Quests and the main story in Act 2
our handy BG3 guide below details a comprehensive walkthrough for finding the Gauntlet of Shar
as well as solutions for completing all trial puzzles
2024 at 12:27 PM · Interesting to hear that you
has a background both as a violinist and as a journalist
I think that that kind of explains how you can manage this site violinist.com so well
You have the knowledge of two very different worlds and that is a great combination
2024 at 08:02 PM · I was lucky to begin my intro to the violin in the 1st grade of my elementary school in Nashville in 1935
A part of the excellent music program at the time included the opportunity to have violin lessons before the beginning of the regular school day
I retired from the San Diego public schools in 1989 after 37 years in public education
During these years I saw music education being cast aside every time there was a need to reduce the cost of educating the children
I had continually fought for keeping good music programs in the schools in order to raise the revered test scores of the students
My efforts never succeeded and music education
particularly instrumental music continued to be reduced over and over
If we could only get good music programs back in the schools not only would interest in playing be increased
but also Math and general education test scores would rise
In recent years experiments in several schools and school districts have proven the point
I am proud to say I 've continued to be a supporter of these programs
A few years ago a local school district put out an appeal for instrument donations which could be repaired and then loaned to low income students
I quickly donated the fine little 1920's German 1/2 violin on which I had learned
It was difficult to give it up after all those years but I was happy that it might be the reason some child might become the new Heifetz
I'm now 95 and still hoping these things can happen
Getting good music programs back in the schools is the only step that will truly make a difference
