Customers can expect not only a wide range of products
but also the opportunity to visit the store with their pets.
This is the ninth store of the retail chain in Vilnius.
"We strive to provide customers with the opportunity to shop quickly and conveniently and receive other everyday services
We are constantly looking for solutions that can improve customer experience
and we also follow international retail trends
It is for this reason that several years ago we decided to allow customers to visit all stores in the chain with their pets - four-legged visitors are also welcome in the store located on Dzūkų g.," says Akvilė Dobrovolskienė
The new store offers customers a wide range of fresh food and household goods
and visitors in a hurry can conveniently and quickly heat up their food
Customers can also receive all the usual services offered by Express Market: withdraw cash
A uDrop parcel machine will be launched in the store in the near future
The Express Market chain reminds customers visiting stores with pets must follow the rules of the Republic of Lithuania – keep their four-legged friends on a leash
carry them in their hands or in special bags designed for them
there are 37 Express Market stores operating throughout Lithuania
the emergency services received the call at 11:43 from residents of the apartment building on Dzūkų Street
The emergency services will have to survey the structure before allowing people to return
The people are now being housed temporarily in a nearby kindergarten
Police Commissioner General Artūras Paulauskas said that the 32-year-old owner of the apartment where the explosion took place was arrested
"Officers of the anti-terrorist operations team Aras arrived and carried out an initial inspection of the apartment
No explosive residue was found," Paulauskas said
The police chief said on Friday afternoon that he could neither confirm nor deny whether it was a deliberate explosion
"The initial data shows that the person was drunk
The owner of the apartment has not yet been questioned
officials will interview him as soon as they can," said Paulauskas
The police have now opened a pre-trial investigation
an explosion of a gas tank in an apartment in Vilnius’ Viršuliškės district caused part of a similar Soviet-era apartment block to collapse
the ability to quickly reach the city center while living close to nature become significant arguments
due to which more and more people begin to consider this area as a place for their dream home
Formerly abandoned industrial areas are successively transformed into residential ones
while at the same time their surroundings are rapidly changing
As envisaged in the ambitious "Vilnius connect" plan
green spaces will be created on Geležinkelios and Pelesas streets
Pedestrian connections between Naujininkai and Naujamiestis are also planned: the first - between St
the second one - between Algirdas street and Dzūkų street

lighting and cameras will be installed to ensure the safety of the space
The landscape of this area is also changing
The public institution "Vilnius City Parks" is preparing to manage the meadow covered with forest and bushes in the Naujininkai micro-district
It is hoped that after tidying up the so far abandoned meadow
drawing people's attention to the beautiful trees and bushes blooming here
it will become another place visited by the townspeople
The area is also easily accessible for cycling enthusiasts: in 2022
the construction of a bicycle path was completed
connecting this district with New Town and thus connecting it to the bicycle network of the entire city
others to watch airplanes take off and land
Kaminkelios street in the southern part of Naujininkai, dominated by individual houses, hills and huge green areas for recreation, attracts the attention of those looking for a new home. "GOEIKA Development

"More and more developers, businesses and new residents see the potential of this area. As Vilnius expands, Naujininkai becomes like a continuation of Naujamiestis, and seeing what changes are planned around, for example, Vilnius railway and bus stations, Vilnius airport
it is obvious that in the near future it will be one of the most modern and attractive districts for modern people"
director of the development department of EIKA Development

and other essential services to asylum seekers
foreign nationals granted asylum in Lithuania

Kulienė has worked in the night shelter since its opening and says that anyone can end up here – former pilots
“We have a variety of people staying at the shelter for shorter or longer periods of time: we also accommodate older people [...] who do not have any relatives and have nowhere else to go,” she says
“There are people who start their lives anew
The average age of residents is 40-50 years
[...] The mission of the shelter is to integrate them
[help them] be a part of the society rather than live in exclusion
to help people understand that life does not end here,” says Kulienė
Such help has allowed many residents to get back on their feet
Each resident also receives personal psychological assistance
according to the press release issued by the Vilnius City authorities. One resident of the shelter
came to Vilnius to look for a job with just one euro in his pocket
Having received information on where to turn to for accommodation at the Information Centre
Saulius has lived in the shelter for a month now
“I gave up my addictions and I'm currently working at a workshop [...] I am not ashamed of the fact that I live here – I understand that none of the people who live in the shelter ended up here voluntarily,” says Saulius
whose dream is to visit his daughter in Ireland
One of the current temporary residents of the shelter is Gžegož
who ended up in here because of his addiction
the 55-year-old man was treated at a rehabilitation centre
and now he lives in a shelter on Kojelavičiaus street
God knows were I would be now,” says Gžegož
and have been put on a waiting list for social housing
because there was a time when I did not want to live
The building that houses the shelter is currently in a very poor condition
“We desperately need to renovate the building
because we accommodate even more people during the winter
according to the Vilnius City Administration's press release
the renovation works will only start in October
Besides improving the existing facilities and adding more services
the shelter will offer social services with new integration programmes
The aim is to integrate homeless people into the society more effectively
The existing shelter premises will also be expanded in the course of the reconstruction to include 60 temporary and 40 long-term accommodation units
More than 2 million euros was allocated for the renovation
of which nearly 1.7 million euros come from the European Regional Development Fund
Local community protests temporary relocationThe night shelter residents will be temporary housed in Naujininkai area in Vilnius until the renovation is finished
the temporary relocation met resistance from local residents
tells LRT.lt that the public was not informed about the decision to house the night shelter in place of a liquidated children socialisation center
the community will try to prevent the night shelter from opening in their neighbourhood
“It’s a pitty that without looking at long-term and large initiatives by Naujininkai residents to improve the image of their neighbourhood
there’s again a proposal to set up problematic social institutions” in the area
Vilnius authorities emphasise that the night shelter in Naujininkai will be only temporary
the most problems arise when living in the sleeping areas located far from the center - Pashilaičiai
according to a representative study "Quality of Life" initiated by "Darnu Group"
The biggest challenges that the residents of these districts have to face are very diverse: from traffic jams
untidy sidewalks to the quality of green spaces and lack of services
the residents of the capital city evaluated their living environment according to the 5 most important aspects of quality city life: communication
The assessment highlighted significant features of Vilnius development and areas that lack attention
The offer of services looks the worst in the districts of Vilnius - the overall average assessment of the capital is just 6,3 points out of 10
Žvėrynas and Naujamiestis (6,9 each) rate the service offer in their district significantly better than the average
Pashilaičiai and Naujininkai (5,6 points each) and Paneriai - 5,5 points out of 10 lack the most variety of services
Recurring problems of the sleeping areas are the lack of leisure facilities
limited supply of educational institutions and sports and art clubs.
Darnu Group's research showed that although the city's transportation is rated the best
there is no shortage of challenges here either
the residents of Šnipiškii have the best assessment of communication in their residential area (8,4 points out of 10) and this indicator is significantly higher than the Vilnius average - 7,4 points
evaluate the communication in their district with 8,2 points
while the residents of Naujamiestis - 8,1 points
Verkii (6,5) and Panerii (6,4) have the worst communication
Typical problems noticed by citizens in the field of transportation are traffic jams
street traffic and lack of parking options
"We see that the XNUMXth century is facing the biggest challenges today
actively built or developed districts dominated by a single function - residential
In the districts closer to the city center
this problem is being solved little by little
leisure and commercial areas are being created there
director of corporate affairs and marketing of Darnu Group
because even the sleeping areas built in the post-Soviet era developed without a clear vision of the city
Territories expanded without new social infrastructure
creating an environment for irresponsible developers to build blocks in the simplest form without streets
as Vilnius expanded and its population increased
Out of all the townspeople, the residents of Pilaitė rate cleanliness and order in their district the best - even 7,6 points out of 10. Antakalnis ir Žirmūnas scored 7,3 points each
The overall average of Vilnius in this area is much weaker - 6,7 points
Naujininkai (5,8) and Senamiestis (5,7) are least satisfied with cleanliness in their district
The main cleanliness challenges are poorly maintained
uncleaned sidewalks and lack of trash cans
citizens living in Naujininkai (5,4) and Pashilaičiai (5,1)
Residents of these districts miss water bodies
"Green outdoor leisure spaces undoubtedly create additional value for the living environment
it is no less important to implement them properly and use their potential by providing them with additional functions
next to them or by properly integrating bicycle or pedestrian paths
spaces for sports or neighborhood - the inhabitants of the mentioned districts miss all this very much"
observes the director of corporate affairs and marketing of Darnu Group
residents describe the security situation in the city as average - it is best rated in Rasų (7,6)
Verkių and Žvērynas wards (7,5 points each)
Naujininkai and Šeškinė (6,1 points) rate this situation much worse than the Vilnius average (5,9)
Traffic accidents in the area or a poor neighborhood are the biggest concerns for residents in terms of safety
but the Vilnius Regional Architecture Council (RAT)
rejected it due to inadequate architectural quality
which assessed the project at the beginning of May
decided that "the project does not meet the architectural quality criteria".
"It is not possible to assess the (un)suitability of the project
because a broader vision of the area's development was not presented - the projected building functionally interacts with the buildings located on the adjacent plots
so a proper assessment of the project requires a comprehensive look at the situation," the conclusion reads
The Council proposes not to continue the development of this solution and to rethink the architectural idea of the building
submitting the project for reconsideration
as well as presenting the concept of development of the surrounding territory
evaluating the visual perspective of the building from the railway connecting Vilnius airport and the city
and organizing an architectural competition.
The office designer - the company "2L Architects" applied to Vilnius RAT for expert evaluation
according to the order of the builder "Darius ir Girėnos 20"
prepared the buildings on Darius ir Girėnos str
reconstruction and new construction project
it is intended to build two 7-storey buildings on the plot - 10,2 thousand
Commercial premises are planned on their first floors
and a three-story parking lot integrated into the slope is designed.
Avia Solutions Group told BNS Plus that it is currently waiting for the project proposals to be coordinated with the municipality
so the company does not provide details about the planned project.
we will definitely tell you more about this planned project," BNS Plus told ASG
"Avia Solutions Group" is developing "Aerocity" district with more than 50 thousand sq
It was announced that more than 2025 thousand people will work and live here in 8
ASG sold one of the Aerocity buildings to the Finnish real estate investment fund Titanium Baltic Real Estate for an undisclosed amount - the group had invested 12,5 million in it
Luminor loaned 12 million to the fund for this purchase
ASG continued to be the sole tenant of the building.
