Red Bull Cerro Abajo
the world’s largest urban downhill race
Chile for the 21st time in March and the action was intense
The course is a chaotic mixture of urban features including staircases
tight corners and even a small section that runs through a residence
The race is a time trial format, meaning the rider with the fastest descent wins. The course is extremely fast, chaotic and demanding, featuring stairs, wallrides, tight corners, and massive drops. The riders need razor-sharp reflexes, plenty of stamina to handle the brutal course, and an in-built confidence to navigate through the track at speeds of up to 40km/h. It’s all about balancing aggression with precision – too slow, and they lose time; too reckless, and they might crash out.

The student-led “April Antics” show is returning to Valparaiso High School’s (VHS) auditorium this weekend for a variety show unlike any other
This year’s show – “Turning the Page” – promises to once again demonstrate the incredible theatrical talent coming out of VHS
“April Antics” has been a mainstay of the VHS arts community since its inception in the ‘90s
providing students an opportunity to put their best act forward
It’s an important step in fostering students’ creativity
“The students take ownership of not just their performances on the stage
It gives students a chance to step into those leadership roles that they may not otherwise have an opportunity to have,” Director Molly Oros said
This year’s show has been in the works since the beginning of the year
when a theme is chosen and scripts are put together
everyone was excited to see the show come to fruition
“This is a unique show because it is student written and student directed
The writer team has been meeting since about November of last year pretty regularly to put together a script and come up with the concepts for the show
we auditioned actors and talent acts and have been working on integrating both into the show
“April Antics” lets students put on performances from multiple disciplines
performers had the chance to flex their talent in a way they might not get the chance to otherwise throughout the rest of the year
helped to set the tone for the performances
“We started with the book theme and thought about a library and all the different stories and places you could go with books,” Oros said
The student performers have been anticipating this year’s show since planning began
I really want to hear feedback about obviously my own scenes
because my peers have done a great job with both directing and writing their scenes
There's a lot of really funny scenes that I'm excited for people to see because I think they'll really enjoy it
I'm just excited to hear feedback about how the show looks in general from a costume and from a staging point of view,” said Senior Keira Ryan
the VHS performers are ready to present their hard work to the public
“April Antics” will run through this weekend with shows on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m
If you’re looking for entertainment while you support your local community
“I think that everyone will find something that they enjoy in this show and will find it entertaining,” Oros said

He was also proud to have a career with Waddell and Reed as a stockbroker and top salesman
Paul was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church
He valued his family more than anything and was his family’s biggest cheerleader in their endeavors

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Paul
I knew Paul through Mid America Decorating Stores
He was a very nice man always with a smile
So sorry to hear of the loss of Paulie and Bonnie
So many memories and love throughout the years
Prayers and love to their children and Fred and Karen
I just heard yesterday that Paul passed away
Then I read in his obit that Bonnie had passed away a month earlier
I'm not surprised that Paul couldn't live without Bonnie
He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man
Paul was fun to be around and we shared a lot of laughs when together
I was introduced to Paul nearly twenty years ago in a business setting
including the fire that took place at the business
I can honestly say that Paul was an excellent business man with very strong ethical character
I enjoyed meeting with Paul and the business he built over the years
