It is one element of the family owned company's plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from worldwide manufacturing by 48% by 2016
Duck and Mr Muscle has put in place a range of energy and carbon management measures at Europlant – its largest European manufacturing hub
The company has installed an 80-metre wind turbine that supplies 50% of the site's annual electricity needs
and has built an electric train and track – powered by the wind turbine – to transport goods and raw materials around the site
It has also made room for a packaging supplier to operate at the Mijdrecht site so that packaging is made locally and transported to the warehouse via the electric train – reducing supply chain emissions
a switch to compressed gas technology for Glade® aerosol products has resulted in a 10 tonne reduction in liquid petroleum gas from the manufacturing process
making SC Johnson Europe's largest supplier of aerosol products using this technology
At Europlant – which produces air fragrances and pest control products – wind-generated electricity has eliminated 2,100 tonnes of green house gas emissions annually
The site has also achieved zero waste to landfill
The initiatives support SC Johnson's five-year global sustainability strategy
which also includes a goal to source 33% of its energy from renewable sources by 2016

Photo: Politie.nlFour people have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a call centre where criminal gangs could make phone calls in an effort to con people out of money and other valuables
took place on July 12 but has only just been made public
Police found two studios in the space plus scripts that the conmen could use while making their calls
The four men arrested all come from the same area and were aged 19
Police suspect the gang has conned at least 45 people but declined to say how much money is involved
Nor did they say whether the gang was posing as police officers or were using some other form of scam
So far this year police have received over 3,400 reports of people posing as police officers to get their victims to hand over money
They have also arrested 167 people in connection with similar cons

When the owners of Dutch marketing firm Loyals told their full-time employees they would get an extra day off every week with no salary cuts
While everyone was pleased with the idea of working 32 hours weekly instead of the more traditional definition of “full time,” they could not initially understand how they could possibly finish their tasks at hand
But as the end of said month nears everybody at the company in Mijdrecht has embraced the change
says company co-founder and co-owner Gillian Robles
"We see that people are getting a lot of energy from their extra day off
but we do not yet have insight into actual figures," she told NL Times
"Studies into four-day work weeks also show these results
Loyals were inspired to try this experiment by Perpetual Gardens
a New Zealand company which transitioned to 32-hour work weeks with positive results in 2016
She said it took significant planning and an examination of different possibilities over the course of 2019 before her firm was ready to do the same
"We announced it to the team around Christmas
and we are now working on the test month."
The 32-year-old's marketing company specializes in brand management
Started in 2016 after several businesses merged together
it now has around 100 employees at offices in Mijdrecht and Zoetermeer
or 40 hours weekly were all reduced down to a 32-hour week for the February experiment
The company has documented the month with a video blog which can be followed on Youtube
so that is why we started the vlog: to show them and everybody the positives it brings,” Robles said
she said Loyals did not undertake the experiment simply to inspire other businesses to do the same
She asserted that organizations need to discover this on their own
According to Robles it is only a matter of time before the shorter workweeks become a social norm
the way we balance our work life and private life need to change too
It is not a matter of if this will happen but when.”
The company said it will announce the results of the experiment in early March
Robles said she was "98 percent certain" the reduced hours strategy would continue
The Irish citizens are wanted in connection with alleged murder/manslaughter and conspiracy to commit murder
Neil FetherstonhaughSunday WorldTue 3 Jan 2023 at 11:59Two Irishmen who feature on Interpol’s Most Wanted List have been made subject to “red notices” issued by the international police organisation
which are a formal request to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition
have been issued for James Staurvik and Conor Vincent D’Monte
is wanted by police in the Netherlands over his alleged role in the murder of Dutch man Adam Sawaryn Radowslag
The 31-year-old was killed at his home in the town of Mijdrecht on October 7
who was 28 at the time had been using the false identity “Niall James Byrne.”
Staurvik became a prime suspect after several witnesses claimed they saw the two men arguing shortly before Mr Radowslag’s death
His red notice gives details that he speaks both Irish and English
D’Monte (44) who faces one count of first degree murder and three counts of conspiracy to commit murder in Canada
had been a fugitive for 11 years until his arrest in Puerto Rico last year
had been living for years under the name of Johnny Williams
but was known to have used at least four aliases during his time as on the run
He was wanted over his alleged role in the 2009 shooting of Kevin LeClair
a gangster in the organised criminal mob the Red Scorpions
who are based in British Columbia in Canada
D’Monte also faces charges of plotting to kill two other gang members
we reported how D’Monte is believed to have been the leader of the British Columbia chapter of the criminal organisation ‘United Nations’ (UN)
also known as the ‘United Nations Global Union’ (GUNS)
Canadian authorities say the ‘The United Nations’ is named for the diverse ethnic origins of its members and includes Canadians of European
which uses other names such as ‘Canada United’ or ‘Canadian United’
began operating in the Vancouver area of British Columbia
and in recent years had managed to expand throughout the rest of Canada
D'Monte who has been described as "of Irish origin" in local newspaper reports
fled in 2011 from justice in his home country after facing charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to murder one or more people with firearms
including the notorious Bacon brothers and their associates
British Columbia are suspected of multiple firearms and drug trafficking charges and have been implicated in a rash of homicides that took place in the Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver area
Canadian authorities allege that D'Monte was involved in the murder of Bacon brother associate
a high-ranking member of the Red Scorpions gang who was gunned down outside a shopping mall on February 6
The El Vocero De Puerto Rico newspaper reported that
D'Monte (44) was arrested during a traffic stop in Isla Verde by the Violent Offenders Task Force of the US Marshals Service
Authorities don’t know exactly when D’Monte arrived in Puerto Rico
but they believe he had been using the alias ‘Johnny Williams’ in the island for at least several months
The six-foot-one-inch fugitive settled into a rural
eastern mountain community near El Yunque rainforest
living in a house in front of a street with no name in a working-class neighbourhood
It has also been established that while hiding out in Puerto Rico
D'Monte collaborated with the non-profit entity Karma Honey Project
those who met D’Monte said he never made any efforts to hide
He even met with Puerto Rico’s agriculture secretary and a local senator and was invited to the governor’s mansion last month for his role in trying to save honeybees after Hurricane Maria
“The guy fooled us all,” said a Puerto Rican businessman who said he met D’Monte in the early days of the pandemic after being added to his WhatsApp group
He revealed that D’Monte was known as ‘Johnny Teeth’
because his teeth were so white and straight
The businessman described D’Monte as a “tremendous sales guy” who was very jovial
“It struck me that he didn’t have Facebook or any of those things because he truly was a great networker,” the businessman said
When he was working on the Christmas toy drive
D’Monte messaged his WhatsApp group warning they were 500 presents short
The former gangster said he that he was “grinding” to get donations as he noted that the prices went up 40 per cent at the toy distributor warehouse
“It’s like a Netflix story,” said Antonio Torres
chief deputy US Marshal for the district of Puerto Rico
D’Monte is currently in a federal prison in Puerto Rico where he is awaiting extradition to bring back to face justice
His public defense attorney declined comment
but she noted in a court hearing on Thursday that D’Monte
because of his Canadian and Irish citizenship
had requested that the consulates of those countries be notified
