The District Court of Noord-Holland handed down convictions against six men who were involved in a series of extremely violent robberies in 2020 and 2021 and two others suffered life-threatening injuries due to the use of a gun The harshest sentence was nearly 30 years in prison and the lowest sentence was closer to four years The verdict and sentences were read by the court at the Schiphol judicial complex in Haarlemmermeer on Monday Seven of the robberies took place in Noord-Holland The most severe sentence was given to 31-year-old Glenn V Prosecutors had called for a life sentence against him but the court said that was "not appropriate" in his case The court took into consideration that he was not out to kill people received the maximum prison sentence allowable short of a life sentence he will be placed under supervision due to the risk of recurrence Just as the Public Prosecution Service did the court holds him responsible for the violence committed with firearms he shot 72-year-old Sjaak Groot during a robbery in Berkhou He was also convicted of shooting two victims in the neck and chest during robberies in Avenhorn and Noord-Scharwoude His co-defendants include Rotterdam resident Ruviëni M. were given sentences slightly lower than what prosecutors demanded partly because the court did not believe the evidence they were involved in the shootings was strong enough The court spoke of a sustained and structured collaboration between the four men who were also guilty of participation in a criminal organization previously described by the Public Prosecution Service as a core group Two men who each participated in one home robbery received prison sentences of 6.5 years and three years and nine months respectively The Public Prosecution Service had also demanded that M spend time in mandatory psychiatric treatment at a TBS facility but the court did not see justification in imposing the measure in which the court paid separate attention to the enormous impact the robberies had Many victims still suffer from physical and psychological complaints the men have denied or remained silent about involvement in the crimes a European Leader in Cryogenic Components and Systems Archive HOUSING Located in one of the dyke villages of The Netherlands surrounded by water AB House is a renovation by Space Encounters that blends tradition and modernity retaining distinct characteristics while adapting to the changing demands of contemporary living AB House has been designed for a growing family in Broek op Langedijk Until the land consolidation in the early 1970s and Noord-Scharwoude were divided into hundreds of small islands accessible by boat a part of the islands has been declared a nature reserve and another part has become a residential area This residential area consists of individual pieces of land with a single-family house on it that is surrounded by water Fragmented volumes and dominant pitched roofs characterize the architecture of these houses Variances in the shape and size of the pitched roofs and window openings and differences in the brickwork set the dwellings apart from each other With challenges such as the transformation of the existing housing stock yet distinct example of how living in the countryside can be made more sustainable and adapted to changing demands for contemporary living One key starting point for the design of the renovation and transformation of the house was to keep the layout of the existing ground floor and to enlarge the house on the first floor by building up to the maximum volume as permitted within the urban regulations a new roof and first floor have been designed while the house retains the feeling of fragmented volumes on the ground floor The roof and first-floor extension cover the existing brick construction and stand on a striking black steel structure The steel mesh wrap of the first floor and white painted brickwork on the ground floor give each layer its own character and sense of unity regardless of the variations in the volumes Deep sight lines and generous openings in the ground floor volumes connect the kitchen while the first floor with a more closed facade and wooden interior results in a confined and warm atmosphere with bedrooms and the bathroom provides the house with its characteristic silhouette and ties the whole together traditionally a distinct feature of pitched roof architecture in arcadian areas yet whimsical architectural feature by way of a steel beam the house has been outfitted with abstract openings and prismatic forms in the black steel structure Precise detailing of the aluminum finishings and a restraint material and color palette make the different elements come together in the plan This transforms the one-dimensional house from the 1980s into a more layered and diverse piece of architecture that tries to fully absorb the qualities of the surrounding green and water-rich environment The result is a house in which tradition and modernity blend perfectly Project: AB HouseArchitects: Space EncountersDesign Team: Gijs Baks and Stijn de WeerdStructural Engineers: De 9-10 Because Guy Salens (THE PACK) had a broken ankle he asked me to travel to the northern region in The Netherlands This event was intended to (re)introduce the European motorcycle press to Zero’s youngest model After the official launch of the SR/S earlier this year the world got caught up in the COVID-19 pandemic aims to draw attention to this model again After a short introduction at Zero Benelux Headquarters and their Factory Service Centre in Noord Scharwoude (The Netherlands) we also had the opportunity to ride the SR/S and some other models from the Zero Motorcycles range A road trip was provided from more than 100 km through the province of North Holland where Zero Benelux is located During the route we had the opportunity to be extensively photographed by professional motorcycle photographers The Zero SR/S features a full fairing and a slightly longer subframe for more seating space for a passenger This bodywork should result in 13% more highway range I will briefly go through the specifications The SR/S features Zero’s air-cooled ZF75-10 engine with 81 kW (110 hp) and 190 Nm of torque The battery is the well-known ZF14.4 lithium-ion battery from the brand Equipped with fully adjustable Showa front and rear suspension radially mounted front brakes from Zero’s house brand J-Juan and a Bosch MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) which is emphasised by the absence of an exhaust is the average ignition lock with even the word “ignition” a keyless ride would have been more appropriate As usual with these kind of test riding in group we have a road captain in front and some photographers around us Driving away is easy: switch the ignition on The route crosses quiet narrow dike roads and busy tourist centers These locations were not chosen by accident but to emphasise the advantages of an electric motorcycle There were only positive reactions from the people present in the streets and terraces when we passed by with our group The seating position is touring / sporty with fairly bent knees The low-placed mirrors give you a clear and vibration-free rear view we stop several times for individual action photos on the road with the photographer lying backwards on the back of an electric motorcycle taking photos of the riders She says that she takes this position more often for driver photos of fuel motorcycles but that she gets off “green” afterwards through the inhaled exhaust gases The Zero is easy to steer over the dike roads and between the dune landscape in North Holland This is mainly due to the fact that there is no need to shift gears and to the always immediately available electrical torque The absence of much and fast rotating mass in the engine also makes driving easy The front brakes are easy to dose and provide good feedback After the photo sessions it is time for a little lunch the motorcycles are parked and again get a lot of attention from passers-by who all respond positively to the absence of noise and exhaust fumes In this mode you have access to limited power and torque which also comes in very dosed more than enough for easy driving with traffic the regeneration of the engine is the strongest No surprise that you have access to full power and torque in Sport mode This Zero had an added mode called “Beast” This mode gives you the full power but with a regeneration similar to the ECO mode These and other settings are extensively customizable via the Zero App The last part of the route is on a piece of motorway where we can be a bit more ‘creative’ A really fast speed did not work because of the crowds on this highway The road continues back to Zero’s headquarters where we (of course) had to return the motorcycles SOC (State of Charge) was 40% and the range was still 73 km This was a short and pleasant renewed introduction to the Zero SR/S with some beautiful action photos An extensive review of the SR/S will be published here soon Sign up for our daily Newsletter and supermarkets and greengrocers Coen Swager of TB&S and Tarno Schilder of Paul Leegwater do not quite understand why this is not the case This relatively new cabbage variety adds color to the fruit and vegetable shelf and is versatile That is what the purple pointed cabbage is called TB&S exclusively grows it both organically and conventionally “We introduced this variety a few years ago,” begins Coen “It’s a cross between a standard pointed cabbage and a red cabbage It gets its color from the red cabbage and its mild flavor from the pointed cabbage this family business also grows and markets standard pointed They have a total of 600 ha in the Netherlands and Portugal from which they supply fresh pointed cabbage and other open-field vegetables daily throughout Europe and organic purple pointed cabbage,” Coen says Purple pointed cabbage brings color to fruit and vegetable shelves Ever-rising interest from processorsScandinavia is an especially important sales market for TB&S’s (organic) pointed cabbage has only a third of the Netherlands’ population like adding it to salads.” The smaller 500-800g cabbages are almost all sold apiece; the larger ones go to processors The trendy purple pointed cabbage is also incorporated in vegetable mixes and there is increasing interest from the processing industry TB&S responds to that by growing slightly larger Violettis so they can offer more kilos to processors pointed cabbage consumption has been stable for years supermarkets are eager to expand their assortment has high hopes for organic and conventional purple pointed cabbage “It’s primarily its color that makes Violetti stand out but its versatility and ease of preparation make this vegetable special Pointed cabbage is great eaten raw in salads or starters but can also be stewed It’s quite a chore to prepare a whole cabbage organic purple pointed cabbages suit current trends perfectly healthy food that’s preferably ready in a flash you can very easily serve something tasty and unique,” Coen explains More and more processors are showing interest in this new cabbage variety that does not ‘bleed’ once sliced and available year-roundTarno Schilder of Paul Leegwater does not understand why retailers and greengrocers are not more interested in purple pointed cabbage either has always been big in cabbage and helps TB&S market its pointed cabbage “Organic and conventional purple pointed cabbage should really be standard alongside regular pointed cabbage You can’t compare this product to standard pointed cabbage or even regular red cabbage Violetti can quickly and easily be prepared in many ways and doesn’t ‘bleed’ once sliced That’s why purple pointed cabbage is so suitable for processing in vegetable packages and mixes It would be nice if many more retailers pick up this new vegetable,” he says Tarno points to a Belgian supermarket that offered three of TB&S’s cabbage varieties last summer: pointed That’s a wonderful way to introduce new fruit and vegetable products without sacrificing shelf space,” agrees Coen Violetti meets the ever-increasingly important consumer need for healthy often more attractively priced than the processed ones Organic supermarkets have always offered a slightly different assortment that is somewhat more focused on new and special products than their standard counterparts organic purple pointed cabbage fits perfectly in between,” Tarno says Good new crop expectedThe first Dutch purple pointed cabbage is available from mid-June while those in storage can be delivered until late March and Spain will follow and be available until mid-June Both organic and conventional purple pointed cabbage are available year-round Expectations for the new crop are good so far We’re eagerly anticipating the new harvest,” Coen concludes Tarno SchilderPaul LeegwaterDe Mossel 211723 HZ  Noord-ScharwoudeTel.: +31 226 362 200[email protected] www.paulleegwater.com  FreshPublishers © 2005-2025 FreshPlaza.com there's a new concept on its way to European vegetable shelves - the savoy pointed cabbage TB&S is growing them on a trial basis in Portugal "We're curious to see whether we can get these vegetables rolling in Dutch supermarkets," says Paul Leegwater salesman Tarno Schilder.  Introducing new vegetables at retailers is no easy task Think of flower sprouts and all those different lettuce varieties Supermarkets are very selective about their shelf space They're not very willing to include new products They far prefer high turnover and certainty of sales." They've developed a special display to promote the savoy pointed cabbages "The red pointed cabbages do very well as a promotional product too this product's sales are already more stable You can easily place such a display in a corner Such a campaign can contribute enormously to introducing a new vegetable to people We'd love to discuss this with supermarkets." The savoy pointed cabbage supply is still limited "We hope to have enough seed available in September We want to plant these on a larger scale in Portugal by the end of February 2022,  we'll have the first true harvest," continues Tarno we can quickly expand it to a year-round assortment We believe there's a market for these cabbages That can prove a purchasing limitation for smaller households." Violettis were sometimes criticized for being too round But TB&S farmers are getting better and better at making them more pointed also have to rely on the weather," concludes Tarno For more information:Tarno SchilderPaul Leegwater21 De Mossel1723 HZ, Noord-Scharwoude, NLTel: +31 (0) 226 362 200Email: [email protected] Website: www.paulleegwater.com  0 files Het Zwarte Gat met Renske Endel - NH Nieuws Bekijk de video voor het hele verhaal van Renske Endel in Het Zwarte Gat.
