GateDrop.com Marc de Reuver has been with the F&H Racing team as the rider coach for a number of years the Dutch based team have decided to leave the paddock after the 2024 season The good news is that de Reuver will still be in the paddock as a coach and working with riders He has announced he’ll be working with three riders in the GP paddock for the 2025 season and preparation for the season is already underway The three riders he’ll work with he knows very well as they’ve all had a spell with the F&H Racing team in the past Adam Sterry and Roan van de Moosdijk will be under the watchful eye of de Reuver “When I got the news from Harry Fase that F&H Racing would not continue in 2025 I was very angry with myself because I felt it as a loss that we didn’t reach the goals that we set together before we started in the winter of 2017 But I totally respect his decision and I have a lot of respect for Harry he helped me a lot during those 7 years with F&H Racing not only as a coach but also in life I would like to thank him one more time through here even when we were not in advantage many times we fight hard and sure surprised people with our performances I had/have an amazing relationship with family Fase and they will be missed in 2025” when one door closes new doors open that is life This is something I am very used to in my career I am honest I was lost a bit for a week but I got my mind up together quit quick First week I saw myself in a DHL van with some red/yellow gear on (laughs) “In 2025 I will work with Roan van de Moosdijk I know all three of them very well and achieved nice things together already in the passed I love the series a lot and I want to stay in there at all cost “I will also continue my work with the Dutch federation KNMV I coach our fastest kids in the 65cc and 85cc class In 2024 we took the world championship as a nation in Heerde and we had two podiums with Kash van Hamond 65cc world champion and Dex van den Broek third in the 85cc class that weekend was very emotional for me and I will never forget” We also caught up with the riders he’ll be working with in 2025 to get their thoughts: Getting the chance to work with Marc again is something I didn’t really need to think about Obviously he isn’t with a team anymore so that opened up that door We get along great and with his experience he is someone that can get the best out of me I had my best results with him in 2019 so he already knows me well We are in Sardinia now putting in the work ready for the season I’m really enjoying riding at the moment and can’t wait for the season to begin As many probably know i’ve worked with Marc for 3 years He helped me winning the EMX250 title and we achieved multiple MX2 podiums I really like his training programs and the way he sees things on the track is very special I think he’s the perfect guy to help me getting back where I belong I just need many hours on the bike as I haven’t ridden much last year But with the help of Kosak and Marc I am confident we can achieve nice things together I worked with him in the past and that was good I’ve already said that after that I worked with some other trainers but I didn’t get the same feeling like I have with Marc First of all we always had a good friendly relationship and Marc is kind of different than others He has such a good of a feeling explaining how to ride a bike and it is very special and easy for me as a rider when you struggle with things He can explain it so its easy for me to work it out and he gives me trust on the bike and pushes me on the trainings which I need I’m very happy to work with him since its an important year for me coming up I want to perform good and go for the ADAC Youngster Cup title and top three in the EMX250 series I feel like visit their doctor with abdominal pain with approximately 30,000 of them diagnosed with gallstones The standard treatment for these patients is a laparoscopic cholecystectomy the number of surgeries has increased exponentially despite the lack of clear international criteria gallbladder removal is one of the most common surgeries in the Netherlands yet it is not always effective against pain: about one-third of patients continue to experience abdominal pain after cholecystectomy The procedure has long been an example of inappropriate care In a 2019 study conducted by Radboud university medical center patients with abdominal pain due to gallstones were divided into two groups One group received the standard treatment of cholecystectomy while the other group received a restrictive selection strategy with surgery considered only after evaluating various pain symptoms The number of surgeries in the restrictive strategy group decreased one-third of patients in both groups still had abdominal pain researchers recommended caution with cholecystectomy in patients with gallstones and abdominal pain The researchers re-evaluated the patients five years later. The results of this study conducted in 24 Dutch hospitals are now published in JAMA Surgery explained: ‘We wanted to investigate the long-term effects of a restrictive strategy  to this surgery in this group of patients we contacted over a thousand patients by phone and we reviewed their medical records.’  The number of patients with pain had not decreased over the years: still only two-thirds of the patients were pain-free therestrictive strategy approach led to fewer unnecessary cholecystectomies we did not observe more complications from gallstones or surgery than in the other group It seems that a restrictive selection strategy is feasible but only for the right patients.’  For better insight into identifying the right patient group Radboudumc developed a decision rule in 2021 based on scientific research and patient data Surgeon and principal investigator Philip de Reuver stated episodic pain is a strong indication for surgery a previous abdominal surgery or the presence of other symptoms are reasons to be cautious about surgery.’ With this knowledge doctors and patients can make better-informed decisions ‘Patients with recurrent biliary colic certainly benefit from this surgery more than a third of patients with gallstones also have symptoms of dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome We should really rule out these conditions before proceeding with a cholecystectomy.’  De Reuver is starting a follow-up study on the effect of a lifestyle intervention in patients with abdominal pain and gallstones where the decision rule indicates that surgery would have limited benefits He expects the lifestyle intervention to improve patients' health about 65 patients undergo gallbladder surgery every day we save costs and capacity while maintaining the quality of life That’s fantastic,’ said De Reuver.  Early and precise diagnosis of endometriosis is crucial for women's health and quality of life Researchers are using hyperspectral imaging and AI to improve medical care for those affected 6 out of 10 people develop pain after a limb amputation Researchers now investigate whether a preventive relatively simple nerve surgery can prevent patients from experiencing this pain An automated pain recognition system using artificial intelligence (AI) holds promise as an unbiased method to detect pain in patients before This website uses cookies to give our readers the best website experience. But now, there also seems to be a counter-movement, with more focus on strengthening Europe’s own economy. The Draghi report touches on this as well I think the real question is: what is our digital sovereignty worth to us?” “The potential benefits of open-source software and reduced dependence on foreign providers might justify some additional costs Karlitschek believes companies will invest An open source alternative also costs public money especially when it comes to cloud services It takes big investments to set up and maintain a cloud service It can only work out if you have a lot of subscribers That is why there are only a few players who dominate the entire market have moved to cloud services because of the advantages of scale That’s why only a few players dominate the entire market if we want to develop a European alternative and scale it up But maybe that’s the price we need to pay for greater sovereignty and autonomy.” How long would it take to develop a European alternative  The companies that have that knowledge are there as well But beyond just developing open-source software we also need to think about implementation we mostly consume cloud services with automatic updates you have to handle this yourself or hire a company to do it Open source demands a more active role from the user.” you need to configure build own system from the available parts but with a clear architectural vision.” Would that be the responsibility of an IT department “It falls somewhere between IT and business operations It requires IT architects who can manage it at a high level you could outsource it to open-source software companies They don’t make money from the software itself but from customising it to suit your needs Just as you hire a company to create a website based on WordPress Open source isn’t necessarily free.” Will a European open source revival come from below or from above “Raising awareness is crucial for digital autonomy but European regulations don’t dictate how solutions should be implemented That requires a bottom-up approach—collaborating with organisations that build alternative platforms or provide complementary platform services A lot of this involves design-based research where we co-develop new platform models or business models.” but in the broader context of openness and platforms My favourite example is a platform for hospitality businesses that uses sales data The same data is valuable for suppliers as well But openness also carries risks—one café can see what another café is selling So even if you’re working in an open and bottom-up way you still need to be mindful of market dominance and privacy concerns – the same issues we criticise big tech for today.” open source isn’t automatically open and fair “Good intentions alone aren’t enough I firmly believe that the tension between openness and control will always resurface It’s a recurring theme in my field of digital platforms Even with open source and decentralisation these dilemmas never truly go away.” Mark de Reuver (1982) studied systems engineering at the Faculty of Technology Policy and Management (2000 – 2005) and then obtained his PhD on mobile service innovation in 2009 associate professor (2016) and then "I have been struggling for three-years to get the title in MX2 with a lot of bad luck and some things were my own fault," the Dutchman commented. "MX1 will be a new challenge and I think I can do well on a big bike; we will see." KTM have announced that Marc de Reuver and Tyla Rattray will form part of their 2006 attack on the MX1 and MX2 Motocross World Championships. 19-year-old Rattray has inked a fresh two season contract and is committed to the competition in which he started as title favourite this term until his unfortunate knee ligament injury, from which he is hoping to return at either the Grand Prix of England or the Dutch round at Lierop in early September. "I have decided to stay in MX2 because I am still young and there is time for me to move to MX1 or go to America in 2007," remarked the South African. "KTM have a good bike in MX2 and I know I can with the world title with the 250. KTM gave me the best contract out there and I really like the way they work; they make me feel like part of the family. I am happy to have signed and to be with them for the next two years." "The plan is to have three riders in MX1 and three in MX2," revealed team manager Toby Gustafson. "We have two already in Tyla and Marc and we are also talking with David Philippaerts, with is quite logical given his results, but nothing is signed and done at this precise moment." Marc de Reuver has seen his world championship hopes end early for the second year in succession after the factory KTM rider's injuries, sustained at last Sunday's German Grand Prix, were found to be worse than expected. After a 'strange' pain continued, Marc went to hospital yesterday (Wednesday) for a scan, where it was discovered that the Dutchman has broken the seventh vertebra in his neck - and will now need to wear a neck brace, which holds his chin static, for a minimum of eight weeks. Thus ends what could be de Reuver's last chance of a world championship, since he is due to move to the AMA series in 2005. In a cruel twist of fate, de Reuver's 2003 season was also ended by injury, in a Dutch championship race, at a time when he was just two points behind eventual world champion Steve Ramon. all our menus are designed for delivery.” “Basically everything that has to do with chicken Our Korean fried chicken brand ‘Out Fry’ is very popular in all the cities where we have an ‘Out Fry’ kitchen The brand that revolves around crispy chicken is even in the top 10 most popular delivery restaurants in all of France “I think the demand for high-quality delivery meals is simply very high Our lives are getting busier and fewer people cook for themselves ordering food is already the most normal thing in the world Last year we saw that 60% of them order food online more than once a week the more important it is that the food is high quality investors also see potential in Taster's delivery brands 50 million dollars in growth money was raised from investor groups LocalGlobe and Heartcore Capital for further European expansion and the costs and revenues for our franchisees New restaurants pay a start-up fee of 1,500 euros for their first brand and 1,000 euros for any additional Taster brands they on-board after completing a trial period and we set up an online environment for them Investment for equipment – if it is not already present – comes down to the entrepreneurs themself a restaurant that is affiliated with us generates around 15,000 - 30,000 euros in turnover per month In more mature markets like Paris or Brussels partners can even go up to a revenue of 100,000 euros revenue per month And they can usually expect to receive 15% to 20% profit.” Manna Homeless Society just got the helping hand it was looking for After reading in The NEWS that the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) and the City of Parksville had each denied requests to help Manna with a one-time donation of $5,000 Parksville resident Pieter de Reuver decided he would kick in the $5,000 Maybe it still helps a bit for going through the terrible things they go through,” de Reuver said De Reuver started the Pieter de Reuver Foundation in 2004 to assist groups and societies similar to Manna but he said he had trouble locating where the money really went de Reuver and his foundation have been giving scholarships and bursaries to Vancouver Island University students 10 RDN committee of the whole board meeting there was initial support for the motion that the 2017 budget include a one-time $5,000 cash donation to the Manna Homeless Society from the District 69 Grants-in-Aid Service when the RDN regular board meeting rolled around on Jan the motion for the one-time donation failed RDN board chair Veenhof said they didn’t know if the society wanted $5,000 from each government The City of Parksville came to the same conclusion at its Jan 19 meeting after the Town of Qualicum Beach had unanimously voted to contribute the one-time $5,000 donation to Manna This was also just after the RDN’s initial support for the society Leanne Salter had brought forward a motion to donate the money to Manna Mary Beil suggested that Manna had what it needed to get over its most recent crisis I’m thinking it’s no longer an emergency situation,” said Beil said if the RDN or the city had asked for information about where the funds were going “So you start out and you put your budget forward for the year but you don’t expect the environment to do what it’s doing Campbell said society would have had to take money from somewhere else within the society’s programs to try and cover it the society has spent about $40,000 in donations helping about 200 clients per week miserable year” due to the wet summer and fall and the “brutal cold and snowy winter.” A 35-year-old woman reported missing in the Netherlands since 16 June was actually found dead in Germany a day earlier Dutch police this week that they actually received the missing persons report on 19 June and an earlier statement noted the date of the woman's disappearance as being 16 June The day before she supposedly wandered off on foot an unidentified body was found in the Mainz-Bingen district of Münster-Sarmsheim The location is roughly 250 kilometers southeast of the woman's hometown of Reuver The woman's remains were burnt beyond recognition adding they assumed she died as the result of a crime they still had not established her identity so they used forensic medicine techniques to create a rendering of what she looked like They released this to print and broadcast media including television show Aktenzeichen XY Ungelöst in an appeal for information about the victim and physical description that was similar to what Dutch police said in June Once German police established the identity of the body they began working closely with Dutch police That led to the arrest of her partner this week on suspicion he was somehow involved "It is not yet clear if and in what way he may have played a role in the disappearance," Dutch police said "At the moment there are various scenarios and directions that need to be investigated and looked at further." Based on previous research, published in The Lancet in 2019 the authors already advised some restraint when it comes to gallbladder removal in this patient group The article in the Lancet shows that the restrictive restrained policy reduced the percentage of patients operated on (from over 75 to 68 percent) De Reuver: "That in itself is positive the number of patients who are pain free after one year does not decrease Possibly the restrictive policy even leads to a small increase in the number of patients who still have pain." The expectation beforehand was that a restrictive policy could reduce the number of patients with pain complaints because patients would ultimately receive the best treatment through such a tailored approach De Reuver: "We have to conclude that the restrictive approach does not solve the problem because a year after the procedure about forty percent still have symptoms There was a need for new research asking which patient benefits most from gallbladder surgery." In the follow-up study, recently published in JAMA Surgery, the researchers have now developed a tool that helps predict whether a patient will be pain-free after surgery Over 1,000 patients with abdominal pain and gallstones in more than 24 Dutch hospitals participated in this study between 2014 and 2017 The analysis of all patient data and the pattern of complaints before and after surgery led to a validated decision aid The analysis of all patient data and their pattern of complaints before and after the operation led to a validated decision aid can properly inform the patient and the surgeon about the chance that the patient will be pain free after surgery This makes the joint decision-making process before surgery even better." The delay in making the final appointment was attributed to the required "carefulness" due to the position being a "sensitive position of trust." However now that four months have passed since then this explanation has lost its credibility.  the following text appeared on LinkedIn: "Congratulate Saskia for starting a new position as Acting Representative of the Netherlands for Aruba and Sint Maarten." In response to questions from the editorial team a spokesperson for the ministry stated that the acting role is only for the summer period and that "the regular procedure continues."  The ministry's response does not address whether the candidate selected in March did not pass the screening or withdrew from the process nor does it explain why the appointment of De Reuver was not officially announced in the usual manner De Reuver herself has not responded to questions about whether she will commute between her workplace in The Hague and the office of the Representation in Willemstad.  Everything seems to indicate that this is an emergency measure It is worth noting that De Reuver combining her new role with being the Director of Kingdom Relations is not unprecedented Henk Brons did the same but in the reverse direction As the Representative of the Netherlands in Willemstad he also acted as the Director of Kingdom Relations He faced controversy after it was revealed that he received a 40,000-euro foreign allowance for 16 days of presence in Curaçao.  Arkenbout is still listed as the Representative even though he left the position a year ago.  Afgelopen week kwamen we in contact met WBA watcher en journalist van de Birmingham Mail Hij kwam er per toeval achter dat supportersgroepen van West Bromwich Albion en VVV-Venlo een vriendschapsband hebben Hij vond het zo interessant dat hij het tijd vond om er een artikel over te schrijven Om meer over de vriendschap te komen te weten kwam Danny bij ons terecht en hebben we wat vragen beantwoord They’re a second tier club from the South-Eastern province of Limburg in the Netherlands so what has VVV Venlo got to do with the Baggies It’s the pre-season tour in the summer of 2010 and Albion are preparing for their first season back in the big time It was a summer where we fans decided that we were going to finally establish ourselves as a Premier League side under the stewardship of Roberto di Matteo And after a resounding 3-0 win at Aggborough over Kidderminster Harriers the Italian’s team were off for a training camp in the Netherlands to get ready for the upcoming season West Brom had a pre-season fixture against the then top-flight side VVV Venlo at the De Koel stadium and are one of the oldest clubs in the Netherlands The ‘VVV’ stands for Venlose Voetbal Vereniging which loosely translates to Venlo Football Association They are known as the Good Old or Pride of the South to their supporters who watch their team at De Koel stadium and 8,000 capacity stadium which is also known as the Seacon Stadium De Koel has been home to a few well-known players in Europe such as current AC Milan midfielder Keisuke Honda and Nigerian international Ahmed Musa Current Southampton and Japan defender Maya Yoshida also broke into European football via VVV Around 400 Baggies fans made their way to De Koel in anticipation of getting to see more of the attractive football di Matteo had them drooling over the season before what they got out of the trip was much more than seeing their team win Ishmael Miller opening the scoring and new singing Gabriel Tamas got his first goal for the club but what was more fascinating than the result is the bond that was created between both sets of supporters during the game Di Matteo even pointed out that it was a great occasion for everyone who had made it to the game and praised the travelling supporters for their behaviour: “The fans have been unbelievable today There was so many here it felt like we were back home,” he said “I think the beer helped them enjoy the occasion I’m sure the bars inside the ground had a high turnover,” he added the Dutch and the Englishmen swapped contact details and Albion fans invited their hosts to come to watch West Brom at the Hawthorns To this day Venlo supporters make the 712 mile round trip to cheer on the Baggies They also bring banners to their home games sporting the blue and white stripes and ‘WBA’ graffiti can be found around the Dutch city Daniel van den Berg, who runs a Venlo supporters website thinks that the culture of football in both England and the Netherlands is key to the friendship: “The club cultures from VVV and WBA are very similar and that is why It will be five years this summer since the friendly and van den Berg would like to see the two sides commemorate that anniversary: “All of the VVV fans hope that there will be a friendly in the future “Actually last summer we hoped that they arranged it but West Brom went to the USA to have a campaign abroad We hope that it can be arranged next summer for the fifth anniversary,” he said Later that season a group of Venlo supporters came to watch the Black Country derby at the Hawthorns to see Roy Hodgson’s first game in charge and they weren’t disappointed thanks to loan-signing Carlos Vela scoring a late equaliser to silence the away support “The Venlo fans feel like they’re home at the Hawthorns!” Daniel van den Berg After that game Albion only went on to lose two more games that season and achieve their then-highest finish in the Premier League in 11th place and However Venlo suffered a different fate and that season the Good Old diced with relegation but ulitamtely earned survival in the Eredivisie by winning the relegation play-off eventually relegated back to the second tier of the Dutch league pyramid in 2013 after losing a relegation play-off to Go Ahead Eagles Venlo find themselves in 11th position after 26 games this season and are currently on a five game unbeaten run Albion and VVV fans continued to visit each others games Most recently the supporters of Venlo witnessed Craig Gardner’s winning goal against Aston Villa this season Also around 120 Albion fans watched Venlo’s derby game against Fortuna Sittard Over 100 Baggies fans are also believed to have membership cards with Venlo As well as the similarites of English and Dutch football Van den Berg also spoke of the differences: “The atmosphere is very good over there and it’s a beautiful stadium [The Hawthorns] “The only thing that they didn’t like is the fact there aren’t any grandstands where you can stand In our stadium where you can stand where ever you like and drink a couple of beers if you want,” he added He also managed to get the club the play the Liquidator before home games at De Koel something which is starting to creep back in to the Hawthorns every week Collaborations between two sets of supporters aren’t uncommon in the Netherlands Juventus and ADO Den Haag fans share a similar friendship Supporters of Polish club Legia Warsaw and Belgian fans of Club Brugge do too but these alliances aren’t publicised too often which is why I only found out about this last week and I presume that most of you are finding this out just now The Venlo supporters must be a friendly bunch as they also have a tie with German club KFC Uerdingen which sounds more like a fast food restaurant than a football club It’s a great thing when two sets of fans come together in unity for their love of football The closest thing we have to it here in England is when there’s a mutual hate towards rival clubs but even then there’s still rivalry during games and all friendship and allegiances go out of the window I’ll always be looking out for the VVV results from now on hoping they make their way back into the top flight of the Eredivise and establish themselves as a top club Bron: Albionsday Leuk stuk alleen werd VVV-WBA in Reuver gespeeld Klopt hebben we ook aangegeven maar de
