It appears to have been filmed by someone standing in a hallway, presumably at the police station.  Frazier said Police Chief Daniel Thomas called him about another matter and also sent him the video. Frazier said he told Thomas to suspend Rivers immediately until he can go before the Town Council.   The video began circulating on social media Thursday. But by then action had already been taken against Rivers.   “That type of situation is totally unacceptable and won’t be tolerated in our municipality,” Frazier said in a telephone interview with KTBS.   In the video, Rivers could be heard saying his police chief is Black and he “hates Black people.” He then raises his voice while speaking to someone else in the room and said, “He don’t like (N-word). That’s what I’m trying to tell you. He don’t like (N-word).”  Rivers went on to say the chief was tired of the kids running the streets. Rivers used more vulgarity as he admitted to stopping the teens who are out late and questioning them. “I’m speaking the truth. Y’all can either accept me or leave me for what I say,” Rivers said.   Chief Thomas was not immediately available for comment Thursday afternoon. Frazier said he doesn’t know what caused Rivers to say what he did.   “I don’t know the circumstances. I do know we’re not going to accept his employment no longer,” Frazier said.   He expects to call a special meeting of the Zwolle Town Council in the coming days to take up Rivers' recommended termination.  Rivers is suspended without pay until then. He’s been employed with the department about nine months, Frazier said.  The Town Council’s regular meeting was held at 5 p.m. Thursday. But it was too late to have the Rivers’ matter added to the agenda.  Zwolle Town Councilman James Hubbard said a special session will most likely be called next week. He wanted to speak with the mayor and police chief at the council meeting Thursday, but neither men attended the meeting. Frazier was out of town. Residents told KTBS they have faith in the council, mayor and police chief to take the appropriate steps to terminate Rivers.  Local breaking news delivered as it happens. In their own home it was 1-1. The Zwolle team took the lead thanks to a goal by Dylan Vente, Alireza Jahanbakhsh made in the second half equal for the team of Robin van Persie. PEC Zwolle against SC Heerenveen was the match between the number thirteen and number eleven. For both teams the ideal chance of climbing to the left row. Although there are more hijackers on the coast: the gap between 15 and eight is only three points. Dylan Vente set PEC Zwolle on course early. Ody Velanas, who played for the suspended Filip Krastev, kept the overview and gave the ball on Vente. He scored his tenth league goal of the season. What followed was a first half in which both teams had the necessary opportunities. First Linday was dangerous for the Frisians, on which PEC from the counter was threatening. Vente just did not get the ball behind Van der Hart again. In the second half, the Zwolle team failed to maintain the threat of the first half. That sc Heerenveen made 1-1 a quarter of an hour after the break was therefore not surprising. Alireza Jahanbakhsh was able to score after Jasper Schendelaar initially rescued. (KSLA) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect allegedly connected to a double shooting in Zwolle Friday afternoon (June 7). On June 11, Sheriff Aaron Mitchell reported an arrest warrant has been issued for Jeremiah Deshawn Davis, 17, of Many. He’s wanted for attempted first-degree murder, illegal carrying and discharging of weapons, and aggravated criminal damage to property. Officials with the sheriff’s office say others involved were: Earnest McCray IV, 20, Maurice Shelby, 23, and others. The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office says the individuals listed above met up on Magnolia Street near Horton Street in Zwolle, when for unknown reasons, gunfire was exchanged between the group of males; bullets hit them and two cars. Shelby was treated for a gunshot wound and released. McCray is being treated at a Shreveport hospital for multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives think Davis also sustained a minor gunshot wound. The sheriff says Davis should be considered armed and dangerous. A cash reward is being offered for any information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information should call the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-256-9241. The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. on Magnolia Street. Officials say they found a Chevy with numerous bullet holes in it and several shell casings on the street. One person who was shot, McCray, was taken to Sabine Medical Center in serious condition, then flown to a Shreveport hospital. The second person shot, Shelby, wound up at the Florien Police Department and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later released after being treated. Two cars have been seized as part of the investigation, the sheriff’s office says. One was found on Magnolia Street, while the other, also riddled with bullet holes, was located on Allens Loop off Highway 474 near Florien. The 13th-placed team in the Eredivisie first made an attempt for this with the Dutch football association, the KNVB, but they were unsuccessful. A late goal from PEC player Nick Fichtinger was disallowed a month ago with a 1-1 scoreline because the virtual assistant referee had seen an offside during the corner that led to the goal. However, this is against the rules as a player cannot be offside from a corner, the KNVB quickly admitted the same. This led to PEC asking the football association to replay the rest of the match with a 2-1 lead for the club from Zwolle. However, the KNVB did not agree to this. “On Tuesday night, PEC Zwolle contacted The International Football Association Board (IFAB) and submitted an official protest against the wrongful use of the rules by the referee.” The club has also “requested that the situation be looked at and for the match to be restarted with a 1-2 scoreline.” RKC Waalwijk is currently bottom of the Eredivisie table and is in a fight to avoid relegation to the second division. They have eight points and are six points behind Sparta Rotterdam, who are in the relegation play-off spot. PEC also still needs the points, as they are six points ahead of Sparta. Yet he stayed loyal to PEC and though he has considered retirement before when the club were relegated back to the second tier of Dutch football in 2022 he knew he had to help them back to the top flight it wouldn't have been good to stay in the KKD [second division]," he says They were promoted at the first attempt by finishing second and after preserving their Eredivisie status this year he knew it was the right time to step aside But he did have doubt -- the atmosphere in the changing room after their 2-2 draw at Ajax saw second thoughts flit through his mind "It's hard to describe how amazing that feels if you're not there." his contract negotiations with PEC Zwolle "took one minute and we closed the deal" he felt like challenging the club a little The contract modifications began with a meal at the renowned three-Michelin-star restaurant De Librije; next year was a camping holiday with his family The third clause he thought up was a second-hand car for his wife The club sent him several options: he went for a white Peugeot with 55,000-odd miles on the clock The fourth clause last year was a round of drinks (a beer or coffee he says) for every supporter in the ground Bram van Polen with his family celebrating 500 games played for PEC Zwolle. (Photo by Rene Nijhuis/BSR Agency/Getty Images)But on Sunday he'll write the final page in this 17-year love affair His daughters will be delighted: near where they live on Saturdays the locals all eat fries -- the Van Polens have been used to their father's prematch meal of pasta and they'll be there this weekend to watch their dad's final match for the "Blauwvingers" ("Bluefingers") especially when things aren't going well with the club then it comes to me to talk with people at the office and with supporters I try to get everyone moving in the same direction in tough moments." Even after he leaves this weekend, it's clear Van Polen won't become a stranger to the club. As one fan wrote this week, a statue wouldn't be fitting for Van Polen as "nine times out of ten it's an ugly thing and that's the last thing we would wish for you. What is much more important to us is that you are retained by the club in a position that suits you." So Van Polen will stay in a role with the club, as a training director. "I'll start in August, and I'll work inside the club but also go and watch some other clubs for us too." He'll also work as a television pundit. There was a lot of excitement after news broke he was going to play a season with his local amateur side VVOG in Harderwijk, fans hopeful of one more glimpse of a bona fide Dutch cult hero. "It's only with my friends, we're just messing around," he says. "They all thought I was going to play for the first team, but no, it's seven vs. seven and we'll drink beer." When he filmed his leaving announcement, he did it in one take. The stadium was empty behind him, a sole spotlight above his head. He didn't like it. He loves the place when it's full and on Sunday, for one final time, they'll be seeing their club legend run out onto the field for his beloved PEC Zwolle. "It's difficult to talk about yourself, but I'm proud of what I've done. I think in a few years I'll be able to appreciate it more." So how does he see the past 17 years? How has he changed from the man who pulled on the shirt for the first time back in October 2007? He smiles, laughs, and answers: "I'm a lot prettier now." And how does he anticipate feeling on Monday when it's all done and he's no longer a professional footballer? "I think I'll have quite the hangover."
