particularly with Niel’s mother but missed everyone so much that she returned to work for a few more years She loved visiting with family and friends phone conversations with her sister-in-law and catching up with people at Ream’s sometimes while Phil waited in the car wondering what was taking so long She faced many health challenges over the past few years that were likely very difficult for her She faced each challenge with the same grit determination and resilience that she had developed as a child instead they heard her thanking her caregivers and saying to them “I love you” each time they left her room Katherine has a deep faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ She loved the Christmas season and all it represents purchasing goats through the “Light the World” giving machines Christmas will forever remind us that because He was born Gathering was indeed Katherine’s favorite We find so much joy knowing that she is gathering with loved ones that anxiously awaited her arrival: her parents and perhaps the sweetest reunion of all with her little granddaughter We know she is saying to Elle exactly what she said to each of her grandchildren “Ding-dong dang-it” we are going to miss you but we find peace knowing that you will always be an ever-present gift in our lives 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Chapel Viewings for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m 2024 at Wheeler & Sundberg Funeral Home December 30 before the services at the church Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery Condolences for the family may be expressed on this page Enter your phone number above to have directions sent via text This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply Service map data © OpenStreetMap contributors 2024) – Orlando City SC has acquired midfielder Heine Gikling Bruseth from Norwegian side Kristiansund BK Bruseth will join the Lions via transfer as a U22 Initiative player signing a contract through the 2026 season with Club options for both 2027 and 2028 pending the receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC) "We’re very happy to welcome Heine to Orlando He is a young player with tremendous upside and we’re very excited to continue his development here in Central Florida,” Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi said coming in at an important time as we push for another appearance in the postseason We look forward to seeing him in purple soon.” began his professional career with Kristiansund during the 2020-21 Eliteserien season the same club whose academy he featured in Bruseth made appearances in 37 matches totaling two goals and two assists the midfielder had a loan stint with Levanger FK appearing in eight matches with one assist during that span Bruseth has appeared for Norway’s national team at multiple youth levels The Lions are set to resume regular season play on Aug traveling to face Sporting Kansas City in an 8:30 p.m TRANSACTION: Orlando City SC acquires midfielder Heine Gikling Bruseth via transfer from Kristiansund BK Bruseth signed as a U22 Initiative player through 2026 with Club options for 2027 and 2028 Teaching & Learning By Jeannine Huenemann | October 21 Will Sintyl attended the Congress of Future Medical Leaders an honors-only program for high school students interested in medical fields Cottonwood High School in the Granite School District is a long-time partner of the Utah State University STARS! Linjepartner for the delivery of overhead lines for the power from shore project at a recently sanctioned development in the North Sea offshore Norway the power from shore concept will secure a reliable and stable power supply to the Yggdrasil area with very low emissions This concept covers a new transformer station in Børdalen in Samnanger 11 kilometres of powerline and cable in Samnanger a compensation station at Årskog in Fitjar and a total of 255 kilometres of sea cable from Samnanger to the Yggdrasil area in the North Sea highlighted: “Linjepartner will deliver the 132 kV overhead lines totalling 26 masts from Børdalen to Gaupeholsmarka in Samnanger The company will also deliver the 300 kV tie-in to Statnett’s transformer station in Børdalen with two new towers.” the value of the contract is more than NOK 100 million (almost $9.4 million) This deal is expected to secure activity and jobs in the Levanger-based company for several years Aker BP received the power licence in April to connect Yggdrasil to the national grid in Samnanger While onshore construction work is expected to start in October the plan is to start delivery from Linjepartner that same month with completion by August 2025 remarked: “This represents the selection of the final major civil construction partner for the Yggdrasil power from shore delivery line we are in line with our execution strategy This is a good example of the ripple effects created in Norway by the Yggdrasil project as many as 50 people at Linjepartner in Levanger and sub-contractors will be under this contract and the company will also employ extra apprentices The ripple effects have been very important to us when selecting partners for the next major development in Norway.” Earlier this month, the Storting greenlighted the plans for the development and operation of the Yggdrasil area This NOK 115 billion (around $10.78 billion) development project is expected to contribute 65.000 full-time equivalents in Norway in the development and operational phase while the Norwegian share of the investments is over 65 per cent and Fulla located between the Alvheim and Oseberg fields in the North Sea The development concept consists of an unmanned production platform to the north – Munin formerly Krafla – a process platform with well bay area and living quarters – Hugin A formerly NOA – to the south and a normally unmanned wellhead platform on Frøy – Hugin B – which will be tied back to Hugin A The entire Yggdrasil area is expected to be controlled remotely from an onshore integrated interaction centre and control room in Stavanger. The development will be powered from shore contributing to low emissions of less than 1 kg CO2 per barrel Daily news and in-depth stories in your inbox The equipment and technical knowledge into realistic & innovative ideas The performance of new and existing jack-ups Now that a week has passed since the murder of 12 people with firearms in the hands of a lunatic in a movie theater in Aurora there are some useful conclusions to be drawn ~ The first set is (forgive me) philosophical because what happened there is not a tragedy homes and trailer parks all over the Midwest injuries and fatalities caused by earthquakes floods and tsunamis are tragic in the applicable sense of the word: They involve the infliction of pain and suffering by impersonal forces far beyond the control of any human being or Virginia Tech — or what happens almost any night of the week in New York or Chicago where a few media-hyped slaughters are far outdone by the continuous mayhem on the streets — is not a tragedy which in its most relevant sense is the intentional result of human evil working its will upon the innocent and defenseless And for those who think that the fact that the perpetrator may well be clinically insane makes what he did any less evil does not understand the moral truth that just as extraordinary acts of heroism or charity have spiritual resonance beyond the scope of the acts themselves are not subjective but objective realities and the agents that work for either end of the moral equation are part of the outcome as well as the process Machiavelli’s aphorism that “the end justifies the means” is a slogan that inevitably passes through a gate labeled “Arbeit Macht Frei” and ends up in the gulag and the lao-gai the ends are the means: Who we are dictates how we act and produces what we create but that does not make the things he does any less objectively evil or lessen the need to remove him from society ~ After expressing profound sympathy for the victims and their friends and families (and honoring the heroism of the three men who reportedly sacrificed themselves for their female companions by blocking bullets with their bodies) we should also recall what law professor Glenn Reynolds (who blogs as Instapundit) points out: There are two classes of people found at every such random incident And the best way not to be a victim is to have the ability to shoot back something denied those killed and wounded in Aurora by the owners of the movie theater itself Very few people are likely aware that there was another random firearm-related murder in Aurora just a few days before James Holmes opened fire was killed in a shooting at a church before an armed member of the congregation (an off-duty police officer) shot the perpetrator dead But firearms were banned from the movie theater showing Batman that night proving once again that “gun-free zones” are among the most dangerous places in the country as only criminals will have firearms there will never keep weapons out of the hands of such people Investor’s Business Daily pointed out in an editorial July 24 that “The gun-controlled Windy City is on a pace to have 450 murders this year an Aurora every 10 days.” And in the week from July 2 to July 8 “there were 21 murders in New York,” IBD said firearms possession by law-abiding citizens is also effectively banned) is a lot larger than Aurora But its citizens have one thing in common with the patrons of the Century 16 theater — they were not allowed to defend themselves.” Perhaps it’s time for survivors to start filing lawsuits to hold the theater’s owners responsible for preventing people from defending themselves by exercising their constitutional rights ~ We should also free ourselves of the false belief that any possible reform of our laws regarding the possession and use of firearms would make such incidents “impossible” in the future Timothy McVeigh killed 163 people with a rental truck filled with fertilizer solvents and widely used commercial explosives hardly things that people will ever be refused permission to buy said this week that the National Rifle Association has a “dominating position” in American politics — but does anyone really think that if millions of voters didn’t vote for politicians who supported firearms rights and against ones who didn’t it’s Americans’ love of liberty and support for the right to defend themselves and their families against the agents of evil that drives what remains of the “debate” over firearms’ civil rights in this country Barring the imposition of a new control regime by undemocratic processes (such as a new Supreme Court ruling overturning D.C which recognized that the Constitution protects an individual right to bear arms) that right is nearly impervious to legislative assault and will be as long as Americans keep voting the way they are now because it offers the only hope that average citizens have of defending themselves against those whose evil works itself out in assaults on the innocent a fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution from what (New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg) and other gun-control advocates have said that there is a mountain of evidence that gun-control laws not only fail to control guns but are often counterproductive For those people who still think facts matter it is worth presenting some of those facts “Do countries with strong gun-control laws have lower murder rates Britain is a country with stronger gun-control laws and lower murder rates than the United States and Brazil are also countries with stronger gun-control laws than the United States — and their murder rates are much higher than ours Israel and Switzerland have even higher rates of gun ownership than the United States “Even the British example does not stand up very well under scrutiny The murder rate in New York has been several times that in London for more than two centuries — and New York had strong gun-control laws years before London did but New York still had several times the murder rate of London.” we’ve seen some truly astounding things come out of this event Most have been too widely covered to belabor here but it remains astounding that a professional news reporter on a major network would so carelessly link a James Holmes found on a Tea Party website with the entirely different James Holmes who was the actual perpetrator Following the Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto who found several people with his name in trouble with the law I entered “Michael Harmon criminal” into a search engine and immediately was told that person had been arrested on July 14 for domestic abuse Anyone could have cited that fact and linked it to me, even though that Michael Harmon is 12 years younger than I am and lives in Oakland, Calif. In fact, a website, howmanyofme.com reports that there are 1,113 Michael Harmons in the country many of whom are likely less than stellar citizens And since I have used the term “Tea Party” in several columns So I’m just as vulnerable to a false linkage as the James Holmes libeled by Ross — a reporter whose reflex to check Tea Party sites the Democratic Party or even the Occupy Wall Street movement is what is most telling about his journalistic malfeasance Compounding the irony is that Mayor Bloomberg one of the nation’s most prominent Republicans-in-name-only actually called on police officers to go on strike until stronger firearms laws were passed it is worth it to him to have police violate their oaths (it is illegal in New York and most other places for police and firefighters to go on strike) to put more citizens in actual danger to get laws passed that will not increase public safety one bit As was noted as soon as he said it (and he has since retreated from his idiocy) all that would show is that people really are in charge of their own self-defense — a constitutional right that liberals like Bloomberg continue to deny to Americans unfortunate enough to live under their iron-fisted rule the Supreme Court has ruled they have no constitutional obligation to protect us from harm “When your life is in danger and seconds count make up such nonsense as the ideas Bloomberg and other gun-banners continue to spout Could anyone really be this disconnected from reality M.D. Harmon, a retired journalist and military officer, is a free-lance writer. it is certain people Guns cannot aim at something or someone by themselves; energy is needed in order to shoot at something or someone the people have a right to protect (self-defense) themselves otherwise the people are “sitting ducks” in the presence of danger The allege shooter in Colorado appears to have the same facial features as the allege shooter who shot the Congresswoman that photo editors for the mass media know how to touch up a photo so the perp Are you kidding; they are well-armed with lawyers The government will tell you what meds you take for your behavior; it will be illegal to stop taking them….OBAMACARE 101 There are countries with much higher levels of gun ownership like Canada and Switzerland–where you MUST have a gun; but far lower levels of mass violence >Their culture diminishes the role of violence in film and video gaming; while our’s finds much profit in it I can watch endless hours of mass murder on TV and find justification for ridding society of ‘bad’ people I don’t like >Having guns in public places is severely restricted; while having guns at home for protection is encouraged doing ‘stop n frisk’ is a violation of our civil rights; so all those backpacks carried by street people have a weapon of some kind in them >The Mass media turns an ordinary assault into a mass attack; like the NCAA did in stripping Penn State of all victories for over a decade…WTF One is not required to own a gun in either Canada or Switzerland; intentional falsehoods and making stuff up does not bolster your already misleading weak argument “The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good” The rate of gun related homicide in Switzerland in 2010 was an astonishingly low 0.52/100,000 I only said that Canada had a high level of gun ownership But I don t think we will get to a place of using this drug, at least based on this data, he told Medscape Medical News can you get viagra over the counter at cvs These preparations are pathogen- free and thus safe for human use 03 May 2025 11:00:00 GMT?.css-1txiau5-AnswerContainer{color:var(--GlobalColorScheme-Text-secondaryText2);}Strindheim won 2–0 over Rana FK on Sat Predicted lineups are available for the match a few days in advance while the actual lineup will be available about an hour ahead of the match This is the first time the teams are playing against each other Have scored 10 goals in their last 5 matches Who won between Strindheim and Rana FK on Sat 03 May 2025 11:00:00 GMT?Strindheim won 2–0 over Rana FK on Sat 03 May 2025 11:00:00 GMT.InsightsHave scored 4 goals in their last 5 matches Strindheim is playing home against Rana FK on Sat 24 Apr 2025 16:00:00 GMT?.css-1txiau5-AnswerContainer{color:var(--GlobalColorScheme-Text-secondaryText2);}Alta won 3–0 over Skeid on Thu The current head to head record for the teams are Alta 1 win(s) 24 Apr 2025 16:00:00 GMT?Alta won 3–0 over Skeid on Thu 24 Apr 2025 16:00:00 GMT.InsightsSkeid have won the previous 3 matches against Alta Alta is playing home against Skeid at SmartDok Arena on Thu Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree has gotten a lot of attention for her luxury trips to the Virgin Islands Now it appears Pingree’s not the only Maine politico who enjoys a Caribbean getaway from time to time According to financial disclosure forms filed with the U.S Angus King owns his own piece of paradise – a vacation home on St Pingree put her political ambitions on hold this year passing up a chance to run for Olympia Snowe’s senate seat so her good friend Angus could run instead Pingree and King have described themselves as close personal friends along with Pingree’s billionaire hedge fund husband Donald Sussman Sussman has used his residence in the Virgin Islands to keep from paying taxes on hedge fund management fees Now a group of Sussman associates has been implicated in an unraveling bribery scandal on the islands and many top-level USVI government officials Sussman has refused to comment on the issue so far and Pingree claims she has never met the officials involved It is unclear how deep the Virgin Islands ties between Pingree/Sussman and King are King’s campaign didn’t return requests for information Steve Robinson is the Editor-in-Chief of The Maine Wire ‪He can be reached by email at Robinson@TheMaineWire.com but they never fail to make a big deal out of the occasional family vacations that Governor LePage takes in Jamaica I love how the right wing defends Romney’s five houses and huge income but then attacks King for owning a vacation home when he bought that gas guzzling $100,000+ motor home; While half the country disappears I much prefer to take my holidays in October-December when the Norwegian weather is at its worst Another advantage in working during July is there's less distractions (client calls) meaning you get work done much quicker This leaves time for spur-of-the-moment activities I wanted somewhere easy to get to from Trondheim preferably on the train and with something of interest to see and then write about After a discussion with a few people who lived in the region The small town is located on the Trondheimsfjord the same body of water that touches Trondheim city centre Living in the city it's sometimes easy to forget that the fjord is one of Norway's biggest The town is part of the traditional region known as Innherred While there is no administrative region here anymore there is a tourist-facing organisation called Visit Innherred This means that when looking through the local tourist information brochure you are constantly trying to figure out if a museum is in Levanger or another town 50km away This obsession with boundary-drawing is one of the most frustrating things about the Norwegian tourism industry Innherred doesn't mean anything to an international visitor who wants to see a page of ‘museums in Innherred' and then have to spend ages figuring out which ones are near Levanger The town is part of Trøndelag the vast county that covers much of central Norway The primary form is the Trøndelag commuter line (Trønderbanen) that links major towns of Trøndelag with Trondheim and the international airport I'm a regular user of the train from the city centre out of the airport I simply stayed on the train for another 45 minutes or so The cost for the one-way trip was around 180 kroner double what it costs to get to the airport just a small coffee machine that takes Norwegian coins or debit/credit cards One of the most distinctive buildings in all of Trøndelag let alone Levanger this beautiful station building is the first thing you see when arriving on the train Opened alongside the station itself in 1902 the station building was designed by prominent Norwegian architect Paul Due After returning to Norway from many years working in American cities Due designed several notable railway stations The eye-catching stations at Hamar and Lillehammer are among his best work and there isn't a shop or any other services aside from two automated ticket machines The lack of services doesn't really matter however as the town centre is right there behind the building The compact centre of town is known for its old timber buildings helping Levanger retain a traditional charm It certainly gives the town a unique identity One of the main streets has been partly pedestrianised and there are a couple parks and other green spaces dotted around Levanger suffered from serious fires in 1846 each time destroying varying amounts of the wooden centre the town centre was always rebuilt predominantly with wood Many of the buildings standing today were built after the last great fire Something I only discovered upon my return to Trondheim is that Levanger is a member of the Italian movement known as Cittaslow Cittaslow's goal is to improvethe quality of life in small towns by slowing down its overall pace This is especially so with respect to how towns and cities use spaces The certification process involves 72 quality criteria which are divided into seven areas: Energy and environmental policies This explains a lot about the development of the coastal area of the town Either side of the town centre there are waterfront paths that are great for walking I visited on a random Tuesday and there were plenty of families about along with a few visitors staying at the smart-looking waterfront campsite The path in the photo above runs from the western end of the town centre. It passes the sports complex that includes the football ground home to local team Levanger FK and keeps going along the waterfront down to the new shopping centre play areas and the odd sculpture are placed along the way I took a stroll along the path from the central area to the relatively new Magneten shopping centre This was a much larger mall than I had expected and is obviously somewhere that people from the surrounding region use as their main shopping destination a large sports store and several other outlets in addition to the mall itself The mall contained the usual high street stores and restaurants and once again A couple of the cafes/restaurants opened out on the back of the centre by the water which connected the mall to the path and to the city centre don't miss out on the city centre either if you're in town for shopping There's a few interesting independent stores amid the usual names The small photo museum is free to enter I visited while the new Renbjørsommet exhibition was in process of being setup the exhibition will profile the chemist Harald Renbjør There was a temporary exhibition about a red cross photographer and some interesting camera equipment on display stone Levanger Church is a landmark at the very centre of the town the church is still in use today and seats about 550 people Unfortunately during my visit the church was covered in scaffolding so I didn't get the opportunity for any good photos the old stone church at Alfshaug is hundreds of years old If I'd been staying longer than a few hours, I would have taken the public ferry over to Ytterøy island. Ytterøy is known in Norway for its chicken but it's better known locally as an idyllic spot for holidays or lazy weekends It's also been known to leave Norwegians rolling on the floor with helpless laughter when foreigners try to pronounce it Originally from the UK, David now lives in Trondheim and was the original founder of Life in Norway back in 2011.
