things have begun to ramp up with only a few days remaining to make moves
In a recent update, it was reported that Sarpsborg rejected the initial offer from Celtic for Ørjasæter of around £4.4 million
The updates continue to come in regarding Ørjasæter however, as most recently sporting director of Sarpsborg Hampus Andersson provided information regarding their stance on a transfer.
According to Eirik Nesset Hjelvik
Andersson said to TV 2: "We expect that there will be offers for Sondre in the next few days which we will have to make a serious assessment of."
This is a hugely positive sign for Celtic as they continue to pursue the 21-year-old winger
as it shows that Sarpsborg might be willing to consider a deal
and are viewing the transfer as a real possibility
The possibility of adding another winger is an intriguing one for Celtic
as they have brought back Jota from Rennes in this window
and already have Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn on the wings
the potential for Maeda to move to striker if Celtic were to get Ørjasæter rather than bring in another striker such as Kvistgaarden is there
having additional cover on the wings could never hurt
and bringing in competition to attempt to sort out the striker position is not a bad idea overall
The current understanding is that Sarpsborg would be looking for approximately a £7 million transfer fee for Ørjasæter
which is no doubt a substantial figure for a player who has only 32 matches under his belt at his current club
he has been exceptional in the playing time he has received
registering six goals and seven assists in those 32 matches
and has shown immense promise for a youngster
With Kyogo Furuhashi heading out for Rennes
adding a youngster to the forward line in his place for the long-term future does make sense
as much as it is difficult to replace his exceptional production over three-and-a-half seasons in a Celtic jersey
we will see where the eventual final bid lands between Celtic and Sarpsborg
whether they find a middle-ground fee or the Hoops end up being willing to pay the asking figure for the winger
It might end up affecting the Kvistgaarden situation as well
Predicted lineups are available for the match a few days in advance while the actual lineup will be available about an hour ahead of the match

— The Colorado Rapids announced today the club has loaned goalkeeper Marko Ilić to Sarpsborg 08 FFin the Eliteserien in Norway
“Marko is a talented goalkeeper with a strong reputation particularly back in Europe
This move will provide him with the opportunity and game time he needs to regain his sharpness and return to the type of form that saw him break into the Serbian national team,” said Rapids Sporting Director Fran Taylor
enters his second season with the Rapids after completing a permanent transfer in July 2023
Originally joining the club on loan from Belgian Pro League side KV Kortrijk in February 2023
Ilić spent the entirety of his career in Europe
He logged 71 appearances across all competitions during his three seasons with De Kerels
Ilić began his career with Serbia’s Vojvodina at age 17 before joining fellow Serbian SuperLiga side Voždovac in 2018
He made 61 appearances across all competitions and recorded 19 shutouts with Voždovac during his three seasons with the club
Ilić represented Serbia in a friendly against Jamaica on June 7th
He has also featured for Serbia at the youth level
Sarpsborg made it to the quarter finals in 2023
and calls Sarpsborg Stadion its home ground
Sarpsborg led the club to the quarterfinals of the Norwegian Football Cup in 2023
TRANSACTION: The Colorado Rapids loaned goalkeeper Marko Ilić to Sarpsborg 08 FFin the Eliteserien until July 15th
Sondre Ørjasæter: Sarpsborg 08’s Refined Playmaker by Jaden Dakwa
Sondre Ørjasæter can affect football matches even when he does not score
Ørjasæter’s best attribute could be his football brain.
He makes very intelligent decisions on the pitch
Football intelligence can often be described as a subjective value
Some people will argue what the best decision to make on the pitch in a given scenario is
Some people will say a player should have made a different decision.
Ørjasæter’s decision making is more objective
His intelligent awareness is rooted in fact
There is evidence of his situational acumen
He has created 11 big chances and ranks sixth amongst all Eliteserien players
Ørjasæter is playing close to two key passes a match on average
and has been a key creator for Sarpsborg 08
The combination of his football brain and his technical ability could help him to have a long career in European football
These skills are serviceable and attractive to many teams across the world
Speed of play is often a vital factor in performance for the best leagues in the world
The promising element is that the 20-year-old takes risks in the final third while also retaining the ball
He completes 2.1 successful dribbles per game on average
and has a 52% completion rate for dribbling.
Vinicius Junior completes 2.8 successful dribbles per game
He has a completion rate of 43% for take-ons
More take-ons attempted could provide a higher risk of their completion rate declining
This is not a comparison of play styles between the two players
Vinicius Junior has learned this throughout his maturation process as a player
He is releasing the ball off of his foot on some occasions quicker
but of course he is a winger that thrives off of creativity
Ørjasæter usually thrives off his first touch and ball control
He speeds up and slows down to shift his body weight past defenders
a player can use directional touches outside of the path ahead of oncoming defenders.
Many diminutive playmakers such as Eden Hazard and David Silva were apt at shifting their body weight to glide past defenders
but the speed of play is once again a pivotal factor.
Ørjasæter can be hazardous to opposition in tight areas and also in expansive patterns of play
His speed is a threat on counter attacks and in transition
The goal he scored against current league leaders
is a reminder of his attacking prowess with gaps to play into
Ørjasæter got into a foot race with an opposing defender and ran into open space
He received the ball via a deflection after a through ball from Daniel Job
He used a fake shot to stun the goalkeeper and coolly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper from close range
Sarpsborg 08 are currently seeking a finish in the top half of the table
The club has finished in eighth for three consecutive seasons (2021
The 2024 season will culminate on December 1st
The club is only one point removed from eight place club
There are 16 teams in the division and eighth place would cap off a decent season for the club
Ørjasæter is the most valuable player on Sarpsborg 08
The closest player does not even reach 17% of the estimated value Ørjasæter has
The second most valuable player is Aimar Sher at €900,000.
Ørjasæter is the third most valuable player on his international side
his market value sits behind young stars Sverre Nypan and Andreas Schjelderup.
His form for Norway U21 has not been as prolific
in six appearances he has no goal contributions
It is important to note he has never played a full 90 minutes for the team
Ørjasæter will be turning 21 in less than two weeks and he has ample time to become a major contributor on the international stage
Ørjasæter is usually deployed as a left winger
There could be a role for the youngster as an attacking midfielder or deeper in midfield
Due to his technical ability and playmaking he could help to dictate play at the center of the pitch
He also has a fantastic passing range for a winger
Some wingers are content with usually playing short passes
He is able to play long balls to help switch the play and point of attack
but fundamental tools will usually always stick with a player
His crosses into the box are usually put into very good areas
He often attempts chipped balls past opposing back lines
Clipped balls off the ground onto incoming runners into the box
These passes are effective in transition or against low blocks
There are very few weaknesses in Ørjasæter’s game
He does well to use it in crossing scenarios when he attacks the byline
he may be ready for a move to an even bigger league
and website in this browser for the next time I comment

Celtic move for Norwegian winger Sondre Orjasaeter | OneFootballThe Celtic Star
It has been reported tonight that Celtic are in talks with Norwegian club Sarpsborg over their winger

This comes after the same source, Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, revealed that discussions with former left-back Kieran Tierney are progressing really well and there is hope on all sides that a deal can be done to bring th4 Scotland international back home to Celtic Park soon
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has triggered the move for winger Ørjasæter
who was first rumoured to be of interest to the Scottish club back in December
The player has had quite the meteoric rise in his homeland of Norway
where he has climbed through the ranks to make it at a top-flight team in the form of his current employers
Only signed this time last year for the club
the 21-year-old has been garnering interest from various quarters in Europe and is clearly highly-rated
Red Bull Salzburg have previously been credited with an interest in him and the Norway U21 star has plenty of potential to develop into another top Scandanavian footballer
It looks like Brendan Rodgers might be the man to help mould the attacker into a top-class operator like he has done with so many other talents
Sondre Orjasaeter of Norway during the UEFA European Under-21 Qualifier playoff football match between Norway and Finland on November 19
No figures have been mentioned as of yet but no doubt the more the story unfolds, the more information like that will become public. (It’s now £7m – see update below). For now, Celtic are working away in the background trying to get deals over the line and streamlining the squad at the same time
Perhaps the injuries to his wingers has prompted Rodgers and the recruitment team to step up the ante in the signings this month

FC Groningen reinstated their lead within ten minutes of the equalizer
Bart van Hintum played a good long ball to find Larsen in the edge of the opponent’s box
Larsen used great chest control to bring the ball down and then he slotted it into the bottom left corner to win the game
“Jørgen has been phenomenal this season
His ability to find the back of the net and his work ethic on the pitch have been crucial for our success
He’s shown that he can be a top striker in the Eredivisie,” said Danny Buijs
Matheus Cunha: The Brazilian Diamond Shining Brighter than Ever for Wolves
The club saw him as a key addition to bolster their attacking options and contribute to their ambitions in La Liga
He was integrated into the squad quickly and started 20 matches in his first LaLiga season
He contributed 4 goals and 4 assists and adjusted to the new environment very well
Playing in a front 2 with the Spanish veteran Iago Aspas helped him learn and improve
Larsen was one of the best players for Celta in the Copa del Rey
He is a natural goalscorer and his ability to get to the right place at the right time is great
Using his physique and good control Larsen is great at scoring and creating in tight spaces in the box
His ability to time runs and get in behind or in between opposition’s center backs is the sign of a great poacher

Iago Aspas: The Heart and Soul of Celta de Vigo
created 24 chances and had 173 touches in the opponent’s box
This indicates that he’s a great asset for the team in all areas
Wolves have completed the signing of Larsen for a €30 million package from Celta Vigo in the summer of 2023-24
With good crossers of the ball in Rayan Aït-Nouri and Pedro Neto Larsen is signed for the sole purpose of putting the ball in the back of the net
I’m really happy to be here” and his new manager Gary O’Neil highlighted the importance of Larsen’s addition to the squad
describing him as Wolves’ top target for the striker position
He praised Larsen’s character and work ethic
and puts a lot of work and running in for the rest of the team.”
Mario Lemina: Wolves’ Gabonese Midfield Enforcer
Jørgen Strand Larsen will look to impress in his first Premier League season and will have the added pressure of being from the same nation as Erling Haaland. Wolves will aim to finish higher in the league and he could be an important piece in the puzzle for them.
With players like Alexander Isak, Dominic Solanke and Ollie Watkins showing that it is possible to score a good amount of goals despite not being in top teams every striker in the league will aim to replicate them. Larsen has the potential to be a world-class striker and the transfer to Wolves gives him a perfect opportunity to showcase himself in the most-watched league on the planet.

The Hoops have been tracking the Norway U21 international since December
with the 21-year-old catching the eye after an impressive season in the Eliteserien
who has two years left on his current contract
has attracted interest from clubs in France and Italy
Celtic are looking to get ahead of the competition as they attempt to bring the talented winger to Parkhead
has acknowledged the bid but made it clear the Norwegian side are determined to hold onto their prized asset until at least the summer
Speaking to Sky Sports News
Andersson said: “Sondre is and has been a highly valued player for us
“Our main goal is to not sell him this window and keep him for at least to the end of the season.”
The Honduran winger has struggled for consistent minutes and has been linked with a move to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano
although a proposed loan deal recently collapsed due to FIFA restrictions
with Sarpsborg reluctant to sell mid-season
Celtic may need to increase their bid to tempt the Norwegian side into parting ways with their rising star or wait until the summer
I don’t think it’s mid-season in Norway – their season goes February > December
He likely means they think they can get more money in the summer

Celtic are reportedly eyeing a move for highly-rated Sarpsborg 08 winger Sondre Ørjasæter during the January transfer window, according to Norwegian news outlet, TV2Sport.
The 21-year-old has caught the attention of several clubs after an impressive season in the Eliteserien
but Sarpsborg appear reluctant to part ways with their young star
has publicly stated his desire to hold onto Ørjasæter
saying he wants to keep the player at the club “for as long as possible.”
combined with the potential financial pull of a transfer fee reportedly in the region of £7 million
Ørjasæter’s pace, technical ability, and versatility on the flanks make him an attractive prospect for Brendan Rodgers
who is keen to add more dynamism to his squad
The wingers stats argues the 21 year old’s case of being a promising talent with 28 appearances for Sarpsborg 08
With Celtic juggling domestic success and European challenges
the addition of a player like Ørjasæter could provide much-needed depth and creativity in wide areas
Anthony Joseph has claimed Celtic have made an opening bid
it would represent a significant investment from the Hoops in an area of the pitch where we aren’t in desperate need of reinforcements
Whether Celtic are willing to meet Sarpsborg’s asking price remains to be seen
but Ørjasæter’s name is one for fans to keep an eye on as the January window unfolds
It’s a striker we need in this window
if we got a striker then having another wide player would be a good addition

A Colorado Rapids Community Since July 2010
Burgundy Wave
COMMERCE CITY – On Friday
Colorado Rapids confirmed that they have loaned goalkeeper Marko Ilić to Sarpsborg 08 FFin the Eliteserien in Norway
until July 15th. There is no option to buy
This move comes after Colorado acquired Zack Steffen on a free transfer over the offseason. Adam Beaudry has signed a Homegrown contract as well and is well regarded within the organization
Steffen is going to start every first team game for which he is healthy
Beuadry is a sufficient backup who can then play for Rapids 2 in MLS NEXT Pro
He joined Colorado on loan with an option to buy while his parent club battled relegation in Belgium
He alluded to not being happy off the field when there
William Yarbrough retained his starting spot for much of the year
Colorado negotiated a new deal with reportedly one of the highest transfer fees in club history
He finally knew his future and his family was settled joining him in Denver
Marko Ilić or William Yarbrough? Ilić seemed optimistic about staying with Colorado Rapids when he spoke to @Burgundywave back in April. There's competition and a decision to make as the Rapids look to sort the future of the goalkeeper position:https://t.co/cFPCi42DCd pic.twitter.com/hVHzQuPHMU
A knee injury for Yarbrough gave the Serbian a chance to be the uncontested starter
He had the lowest xG of any MLS goalkeeper in 2023 per American Soccer Analysis
He’s trying to get back into the Serbian national team
He needs to play in order to work through his weaknesses in goal
He joins Sarpsborg right before the start of their season
so he should have time to get settled off the field
He didn’t really get that coming to Colorado
Getting back to Europe probably helps his stock too given the surface level reputation of the Rapids internationally
It’s hard to see how he becomes the regular starter for Colorado while Steffen is at the club
it’s not clear Colorado will be able to break even on selling him back to Europe
this move kicks the can down the road and makes an amicable ending more plausible
This is another deal by this Rapids front office that seems to be an overspend that might take multiple years to move on from

It’s actually less than a full week to go until it slams shut on February 3 and Brendan Rodgers‘ side still have business to do
The manager has always wanted attackers this month with two wingers on the list of priorities as well as a striker
One wide man has already arrived in the form of the returning Jota while the forward hunt has been pushed to the front of the to-do list following Kyogo’s move to Rennes
Kyogo posted a heartfelt farewell to fans on social media and had his now-former teammates sending him well-wishes
But no sooner had the Japanese departed before attention again turned to incomings rather than those who had departed
67 Hail Hail told you yesterday how Celts had lodged an official bid for Sondre Ørjasæter of Sarpsborg 08 in the Norwegian top flight
We also told you how Lille in Ligue 1 have submitted a rival offer for the promising 21-year-old with his club believed to be holding out for close to around £7million
been accepted by the Eliteserien outfit but Celts will hope their negotiators and money-men can get the deal over the line
made his and the club’s stance very clear on Ørjasæter as he revealed they do not want to sanction the player’s exit this month
they hope to keep the winger in Norway until “at least” the end of the 2025 season in November as he is so valuable to their success hopes
Sondre is and has been a highly valued player for us,” Andersson said when approached for comment by 67 Hail Hail
“Our main goal is to not sell him this window and keep him for at least to the end of the season.”
Ørjasæter hit six goals and provided seven assists in 2024 and he is capped for Norway at under-21s level
The Colorado Rapids are lending goalkeeper Marko Ilic to Norway’s Sarpsborg 08 FF through July 15
The 26-year-old Serbian made his MLS debut in 2023 and started 13 matches for the Rapids
posting two clean sheets and giving up 28 goals
“Marko is a talented goalkeeper with a strong reputation particularly back in Europe,” Rapids sporting director Fran Taylor said
“This move will provide him with the opportunity and game time he needs to regain his sharpness and return to the type of form that saw him break into the Serbian national team.”

Jota has already arrived as one of two wingers but it is the other wide player the Hoops are having some issues in securing
Sondre Ørjasæter
is the playmaker the club wants in the door before Monday night’s deadline
We told you how Celtic’s first Ørjasæter bid was submitted earlier this week
They also face competition for the Norwegian wideman with Champions League outfit Lille also having submitted a bid for the Sarpsborg 08 star
Now, though, 67 Hail Hail can exclusively reveal that the Norwegian outfit have rejected the initial approach from Celtic for their talisman
It is understood the Hoops went in with a bid of around €5.25million which equates to close to £4.4m
But that was booted into touch by his club
Sarpsborg are holding out for closer to the £7m range but would have reservations about selling him in the January window regardless of fee
We told you how their sporting director, Hampus Andersson, had made it clear the club do not wish to let the player go this month as he is too important to their chances next season
Sondre is and has been a highly valued player for us
Andersson appears to be a man of his word to the Sarpsborg support following Celtic’s rejected bid but it is not yet known whether or not the Scottish Premiership giants will return to the negotiating table
They are also holding discussions with Brondby over Mathias Kvistgaarden who has been scouted this season by Celtic talent-spotters
Eintracht Frankfurt remain in pole position for the Dane but £10m would likely do it for Celts should they wish to splash out
The 21-year-old winger impressed in the 2024 Eliteserien season
and providing five assists for a Sarpsborg side that finished 12th in Norway’s top flight
Celtic’s interest in Ørjasæter has been well-documented
but Sarpsborg are said to be holding out for £7m and are reluctant to sell this month
Sarpsborg sporting director Hampus Andersson confirmed that more offers are expected in the coming days
“We expect offers for Sondre to come in the next few days, which we will have to make a serious assessment of.” [Eirik Nesset Hjelvik]
While Sarpsborg are keen to resist bids this window
Celtic remain in talks as they look to strike a deal before Monday’s transfer deadline
Celtic will have to decide whether to meet Sarpsborg’s valuation or look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements
The Hoops have already brought Jota back to the club and are still active in the market
with Luis Palma set to leave on loan to Olympiacos
Ørjasæter is seen as a long-term option for Celtic’s attack
but whether a compromise can be reached remains to be seen
and Celtic will need to act fast if they want to secure the Norwegian winger before the window shuts
Today, the Bhoys face Ross County with only one fit winger in Hyunjun Yang
Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn are injury doubts and could miss out on participation in the Highlands
Luis Palma hasn’t travelled with the group due to a family bereavement, while James Forrest remains on the sidelines for Celtic
Imaginably, Parkhead chiefs realise the gravity of the situation amid a heavy fixture schedule
Additions are needed to avoid this scenario becoming a regular feature in the coming weeks
Stepping up the hunt for reinforcements, Brendan Rodgers has acted and supporters will be waiting on tenterhooks to see if his latest pursuit comes to fruition
According to Sky Sports
Celtic are in talks to sign Sarpsborg winger Sondre Ørjasæter as interest begins to mount in the exciting Norwegian from around Europe
Alongside the Bhoys
Nice and Fiorentina are also keeping close tabs on his situation as his form in the Eliteserien doesn’t go unnoticed
UPDATE: Sarpsborg are understood to be looking for a deal worth £7m for winger Sondre Ørjasæter.Talks are ongoing between Celtic and the Norwegian club.Fiorentina, Parma & Nice are also interested in him. https://t.co/Mrh6h4XjFc
Sarpsborg won’t be rolled over in any pursuit for their star man
who they are demanding a fee in the region of £7 million for before permitting any sale
Ørjasæter registered six goals and seven assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for the top-flight outfit
He has also been a regular in the Norway Under-21 set-up as of late
As pointed out by Joseph, Celtic have been interested in Ørjasæter since last month
with RB Salzburg another reported suitor in the hunt to sign the 21-year-old
the Bhoys have an excellent relationship with Scandinavia and it is a market that the club should be looking to explore due to the potential to find hidden gems within relatively close geographical proximity
Ørjasæter can be convinced that Parkhead is the correct environment to take his next career step
The Oslo-born man would definitely earn regular minutes due to injury problems in the wide berths and potential outgoings

"Before anything else happens everybody shakes hands," he says
"Norwegians are very courteous and it shows respect – but you can also learn a lot about someone from their handshake
whether you'd want them alongside you in the trenches or if you might need to bin them!"
Deane is joking but the man who, back in 1992, scored the Premier League's first goal
takes his inaugural managerial job absolutely anything but lightly
"I'm more passionate about managing than I ever was about playing," says the former Doncaster
"Football management is all about solving puzzles and there's so much satisfaction when things go right
Coming to Sarpsborg is probably the best thing I've ever done."
What sets Deane apart is his desire to win in style
Sarpsborg possess the smallest budget in the Tippeligaen
and survival is the overriding aim but their manager aims to accomplish it courtesy of a gameplan based on clever
"We're in the results business so I don't want to be seen as someone whose side played fantastic football while always losing to the top teams but you get a lot more satisfaction if you follow your principles," says the 45-year-old
whose side stand second from bottom in the Tippeligaen
"Avoiding relegation is vital but I'm proud of the football we're trying to play
I believe it's essential for clubs to have a brand
Everyone recognises Swansea's brand."
As Swansea headed for League Cup glory last season
Deane embarked on the biggest adventure of his life
finds new paths," is a Norwegian saying and by boarding an Oslo-bound flight last January a man capped three times by England did precisely that
An hour's drive from the Norwegian capital
twinned with Bethlehem and Berwick-upon-Tweed
Surrounded by vast tracts of woodland and situated close to the sea
its attractions prevent Deane from being consumed by his workaholic streak
"I live by a lake and I'm sitting here in my house looking at it and wondering whether to go out in my little boat tonight," he says
is the main thing but I love the way of life here."
The only drawback is the cost of living; something which has seen Deane's girlfriend notice a marked improvement in his cooking during her visits from the UK
"The pleasures of eating out quickly wear thin once you've seen a few bills," he says with a laugh
"My culinary skills have come on no end."
By taking himself "out of my comfort zone" his horizons have widened
"We can become a bit insular in our views in the UK
I think that's partly why English teams don't do so well in tournament football
we're too much in our comfort zone," he says
"Embracing another culture has been good for me
At first I had my guard up but the people here have so much integrity
I realised I didn't need to be like that."
Appointed in mid-winter before a Tippeligaen season which runs from March until November
"But the winters are cold; when it drops below -10C we train indoors."
No matter; he is simply delighted to be wearing a managerial tracksuit. "I wanted to be able to use my coaching badges," says a "Kick It Out" ambassador who has previously criticised the apparent lack of meritocracy which, shamefully, has sometimes seen black coaches struggle to secure jobs in English football
He did not apply for sufficient managerial posts at home to detect whether he was personally affected
"It's very important that things are fair and doors are open for everybody
I don't want to have to rely on somebody saying I should be given a chance
A believer in mandatory coaching qualifications
he also appreciates the benefits of an extended academic education
"Quite a few Norwegian players have degrees," he says
"It's something I'd like to see more of in English football."
A diversion into academia led him to Sarpsborg
Deane was appointed director of football at Leeds University
helping its teams enjoy unprecedented success
he also established an international academy for football and education
It was during a Scandinavian recruitment drive that he learnt of Sarpsborg's vacancy
Three exhaustive interviews later the board had bought into Deane's thoughtful
articulate vision and he was en route to Ostfold County
Having regarded an interlude at Benfica as a highlight of his playing career it felt good to be an expatriate again but a little English mentoring has proved beneficial
"I never played for him but I pick the phone up to Peter Taylor (the former England Under-21 coach) for advice," says Deane
he's got integrity and he's been fantastic with me."
Out on the training pitch Sarpsborg's manager applies arts acquired from a litany of former bosses
discipline and commanded respect; when he spoke everyone listened," says Deane
"Dave Bassett's always seemed to know when to put an arm round me and Alan Pardew's training sessions were the most enjoyable I experienced
he made things very interesting which is something I try to do now
"I'm still learning but I never want to turn into one of those managers who meet players in the corridor and look straight through them." Unless they have a limp handshake
