Poland’s State Secretary and Ministry of Infrastructure
announced the order in a posting on social media on Thursday
“We are removing Russian scrap from our port
The state acts and ensures the safety of Polish infrastructure,” he wrote announcing the decision of the Ministry
Port officials said they have been trying for months to gain the authority to act to remove the tanker which was detained in the port in October 2017 after a failed Port State inspection
promised repairs to address structural issues identified during the inspection and to take steps to correct issues identified regarding the training and competence of the crew
the tanker has languished in the port while the owner declared bankruptcy in 2020
The media says the tanker recently twice broke away from its moorings
Port officials said tugs were able to secure the vessel but they too raised concerns about port safety
but the port said since a trustee was named in the bankruptcy and has occasionally checked on the vessel
it can not be officially listed as abandoned.
Port and government officials raised concerns about the lack of maintenance
They noted that the fuel cargo tanks have not been properly vented raising the concern of a buildup of explosive vapors
Media speculation in January also asked if the Russians might be using the vessel as a base of operations to spy on NATO
They noted the use of the port for military equipment including shipments into Ukraine of equipment from the West while also speculating if listening or recording devices might be aboard the ship.
The Maritime Directorate in Gdynia has now issued an official order for the removal of the tanker
It instructed the port to have the Khatanga removed from the port as quickly as possible but set a deadline of three months.
“The vessel poses a threat to the safety of navigation and is withdrawn from service,” the Directorate writes
the Port of Gdynia Authority has been obliged to remove the Russian ship Khatanga."
It is expected that the port will attempt to sell or auction the vessel
but it is noted that it is incapable of navigation under its own power
The expectation is that it will be sold for scrap

Poland’s Ministry of Infrastructure announced a recent order to remove an old Russian tanker that has been sitting at the Gdynia Port for over 7 years
which had been detained at the facility in October 2017
The 23,000 DWT product tanker Khatanga has become the centre of attention as it raises concerns over Russian espionage apart from security and maritime safety concerns as it has not undergone any maintenance for years
Port Officials stated that they had tried for months to get permission to get rid of the tanker which had remained there since it failed a port inspection in 2017
the Murmansk Shipping Company had agreed to undertake repairs to handle the structural problems pointed out in the inspection and also equip the crew members with the required training
the shipping company went bankrupt and since then the tanker has remained at the Port
the tanker has broken from its moorings twice
Port authorities have said that since a trustee was named in the bankruptcy which has seldom kept a check on the ship
The main reason for this step has been maintenance issues and the fact that it has not been operational
Its fuel cargo tanks have not been adequately vented
leading to a possible buildup of explosive gases or vapours
There have been discussions regarding the ship’s use by Russians to carry out spying activities on NATO since this port has been used for loading and unloading military supplies
including shipping of military equipment to Ukraine
There have been speculations regarding the ship being fitted with recording devices as well
Poland’s State Secretary Arkadiusz Marchewka announced in a social media post that they will remove the Russian scrap from their port to ensure the safety of port infrastructure
Gdynia’s Maritime Directorate’s official order says that the ship must be removed as soon as possible
The port will likely sell or auction the ship
but it is known that the ship cannot navigate using its own power
The Directorate has allowed port authorities to ask the tanker’s owner for reimbursement of costs for the entire time the vessel was moored in the port
The port authority would utilise the proceeds from the vessel’s sale to cover some costs and the unpaid dockage fee

A giant production that caused a sensation!
When I first heard that there would be an adaptation of Quo Vadis, a historical novel written by Henryk Sienkiewicz 130 years ago about the first Christians in Rome, I thought it was a pretty crazy idea; when I learned that it would be a cabaret/circus-style adaptation, I raised an eyebrow in disbelief.
After the first song about Nero's daughter, I knew: I had too little faith in Polish creativity. The show is genius.
From the costumes, the set design, the music, and the actors to the staging and dancing, everything is like a layer of the biggest cake of perfection you've ever tasted. And the good news is that it's zero calories.
As it is difficult to describe how impressive the show is, it is even harder to describe the actors and songs, so I will limit myself to sharing with you only my favorites.
The one and only Petronius (Marek Nedza): the fashionista of ancient Rome has such charisma that he could convince a statue to dance.
The Song of Acne (Karolina Merda): reverse dance sequences, so brilliant and so simple!
Dancers like animals, flowers, and human decorations.
Finally, the universalized message of this old text can be transformed into any time and circumstance, because greed, power, and passion are and have been the driving forces of history.
From the first to the very last minute, you will feel like you have hit the golden jackpot.
After a marathon of musical performances, I thought I’d take a breather at the dramatic theatre, hoping for a quiet evening. But lo and behold, I found myself swept away in a whirlwind of emotion and song—who would have thought?
You enter the club, leave your coat, and receive a headset with three simple buttons—on/off, channel, and volume. Excitement builds as you descend the stairs into the play’s venue. Though there are seating options, a huge crowd already stands, each person donning a headset of a different color that signals the channel they're tuned into—be it music or a podcast about slow life.
Monika Radecka just landed on the Wrocław opera scene — and it was a landing. Her debut as Cio-Cio-San in Madame Butterfly at Opera Wrocławska wasn’t just promising — it was powerful.
If you haven’t yet experienced the magic of Natalia Sikora, let me tell you—you’re missing out on something truly extraordinary. This phenomenal artist, who first captured the hearts of Wrocław two decades ago as the youngest winner of the Stage Song Review (Przegląd Piosenki Aktorskiej), has evolved into a fearless and uncompromising force in the music scene.

The Polish government confirmed that a Russian tanker
which has been docked in the Port of Gdynia for nearly eight years
Poland announced that following the removal
it will also seek compensation for the costs incurred during the ship’s time in the Port of Gdynia
the Russian owner of the ship went bankrupt and ceased operations in 2020
“We are removing Russian scrap from our port,” Deputy Infrastructure Minister Arkadiusz Marchewka wrote on social media following the announcement of the oil tanker removal
The Ministry states that the vessel “poses a threat to the safety of navigation”
told local broadcaster Kanał Plus that in recent months the ship’s moorings loosened during rough weather and it had to be secured by a tugboat

medieval Prague is streamed through the train's windows like a Netflix trailer
From armchair seats in private compartments
a city of Rococo castles and wide boulevards appears: the "Paris of the East"
mostly unscathed by Nazi occupation in the 1940s or socialist planning in the 70s
Moments later the train hums through a timeless Czech countryside
Onion-domed churches and frozen fishing lakes scroll past as the train sprints north
The recently launched route from Prague to Gdynia on Poland's Baltic coast operates four times daily
and takes travellers directly into Central Europe's most vibrant and less-touristed cities that were previously tricky to get to
It will entice international travellers who want to combine a city break with a rural experience
The term "Baltic Express" is an ambitious misnomer
Think of this new 878km connection not as one of the speedy plane-killer routes trending in recent years – like London to Amsterdam or Istanbul to Ankara – custom-built to compete with budget airlines
the eight-hour trip promises a scenic history tour through overlapping empires via some of the Czech Republic and Poland's most buzzing cities
this highly affordable and experiential journey allows passengers to hop-on and hop-off wherever they choose
My own journey started in Prague's Hlavní Nádraží station
the terminus looks like a cathedral to train travel with twin cupolas rising from its roof like Roman temples
The station was built in 1871 when the Austro-Hungarian Empire
laid train tracks around the empire as a way of weaving all trade and security through the empire's capital of Vienna
Nádraží Hlavní's main departure hall was decorated when the Czech Republic was under Soviet domination and is a socialist rainbow of primary colours
one floor above sits an original waiting room styled in Art Nouveau
while a soaring dome in this higher level overlooks Romanesque statues and polished brass rails
the fancy Foyer Café opened in an adjoining salon
serving Czech riesling and viennoiserie pastries high above the hoi polloi
It's a fine way to start a continental meander
After just one hour aboard the Baltic Express
The 100,000-person city exudes Czech charm
with church steeples shaped like space rockets and townhouses coloured every shade of pastel
Pardubice's Austro-Hungarian townhouses are as fancily familiar as in every empire city: Sarajevo
Yet I can count that day's tourists on one hand
Train Journeys is a BBC Travel series that celebrates the world's most interesting train rides and inspires readers to travel overland
Ironically, statues in Pardubice commemorate the birthplace of Czech aviator Jan Kašpar
Kašpar flew south from Pardubice to Prague
following the railway tracks now used by the Baltic Express
The mechanical efficiency of aviation has competed with the romanticism of rail ever since
I rejoin the Baltic Express an hour before sunset
The topography rises towards the Polish border in an undulating green sheen
hunting lodges and deep snows as the train climbs into the quickening night
only a choral chirp from passengers' cellular networks welcomes our train to Poland
I share my seating cabin with a woman named Marta Kortas who works in Gdansk's data analytics industry
"The train has made a new connection for me because I have friends in Prague and southern Poland," she tells me
The region of rural Silesia flashes past in the dark
where passengers can get off for thermal springs and salt mines
"I even dreamt I could move back and use the train to commute to my office a few days per month
Wroclaw and Poznan makes that dream much easier."
• A new night train connecting some of Europe's great cities
• Europe's stunning high-tech luxury train
• The Train d'Artouste: Europe's highest narrow-gauge train
Around 20:00, I alight, alongside Polish business commuters, to spend the night in Wroclaw
Wroclaw was the German-speaking city of Breslau
and its Teutonic-Gothic train station was designed by a Prussian architect
Poland's borders shifted west and the train station formerly known as Breslau Hauptbahnhof was renamed Wroclaw Glowny – although direct services still run to Berlin on tracks laid by the German Empire more than a century ago
I wake up to Wroclaw's whirling snow and reboard the Baltic Express for the third time
strolling along the length of the eight-carriage train to gauge the passenger make-up
occupied by everyone from Polish grannies to Czech work-from-homers
It's the mix anticipated by Jan Hrabáček of Czech national rail operator České Dráhy
"We already have a connection from Prague to Budapest and Warsaw," says Hrabáček
who helped develop the Baltic Express route
"So the idea of the Czech and Polish transport ministers was to connect the quickest possible route from Prague and Wroclaw to the sea." Tourism
will be the key summer driver: Czechs used to drive south to Croatia for holidays
"Czech people 'found' Poland as a destination because the beaches are great and the weather has become warmer."
The joy of the Baltic Express is that it affords a few hours in destinations one might otherwise overlook, like the Polish spa town of Kłodzko or the medieval city of Leszno. I make my penultimate pitstop in Poznan
a Polish cultural capital that has an old town square as pretty as any imagined in a Disney fairytale
I start in the square's Military Museum
where rakish Napoleonic tunics and dashing air force costumes – Polish soldiers knew how to dress – tell of a darker story
Poland has only enjoyed 50 years of independence in the last two centuries due to Austro-Hungarian
which makes the safeguarding of the country's culture during difficult times even more impressive
It has been reborn as a cultural space and shopping hub near the train station
a conductor I met the day before gives me a nod of welcome
The Baltic Express is starting to feel like home
A chef grills fresh gołąbki (pork-stuffed cabbage leaves)
her assistant spoons out pumpkin barley with kale and the waiter decants bottles of Łomża beer
The train catering company WARS holds a special place in Polish hearts
having catered on international rail routes from Irkutsk to Istanbul since 1948
It's a long way from a British Rail sandwich
A fellow diner is marketing consultant Karolina Paszkiewicz
"The trains Poland had 10 years ago were slow and cold," she recalls
where Paszkiewicz's clients are based
used to take nine hours from her hometown of Wroclaw
"Today it's four and half," smiles Paszkiewicz
"After you've eaten and opened your laptop
A whirl of seagulls intimates that we're descending towards the sea
The natural port of Gdansk has been Poland's window on the world for seven centuries
As a member of the Hanseatic trading league
the port city exported goods around the Baltic Sea between Hamburg
Visible from our slowing train are handsome wharf houses where beeswax
amber and furs could be winched up from passing ships
What makes the Baltic Express special is its sense of interconnectedness
travelling on tracks laid by Austrians and Germans that offers the freedom to eat
Experiential train travel has a new destination

Poland has finally reached its limit and will be removing a Russian Ship from their Baltic Sea port
The Polish government have confirmed that they are removing the ship which has been rusting away in the port for eight years. The ship called Khatanga was originally dumped back in 2017 when it entered the ports for repair
went bankrupt in 2020 and the ship has continued to take up space and decay in the Polish port with no sign of a resolution being found
The Deputy Minister for Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka was blunt in his summation of Polish plans for the ship “We are removing Russian scrap from our port.” The Polish government will now look to be compensated for the cost of the ship’s stay in Gdynia and for the costs of removing it too
according to a port spokesperson it could amount to €3.1 million in compensation
as after Murmansk Shipping Company went bust
an insolvency agency took over the ship and Gdynia port officials have lost touch with the company
In an earlier interview port authorities in Poland had said they had little right to remove the Russian vessel
They have now issued an adamant message that the ship will not sit in the Port for much longer
The director of the Maritime Office in Gdynia sent a message forcing the port’s officials to take the Khatanga away “immediately
The ship has been causing safety issues for navigating the waters but has also come loose from its moorings in strong weather
At one stage a tugboat had to secure the ship back in place
The Maritime Authority in Gdynia have been reported as saying that there are concerns about vessel’s security
as it may pose chemical and intelligence threats
The idea that a rusting ship might be a threat to intelligence
may seem farfetched but Gdynia is a key naval base in Poland and the Baltic Container Terminal where NATO has a base to move equipment from

GDYNIA (EuroCup Women) - Basket 90 Gdynia look to have all but sealed a place in the EuroCup Women Regular Season after sinking Spartak Noginsk 95-55 in the first leg of their Qualifiers tie.
Turning Point: There wasn't one, since Gdynia started red-hot in the opening quarter as they blasted their way into a commanding 30-9 advantage and coasted to their huge victory.
Stats don't lie: It was a miserable shooting night for Spartak Noginsk who didn't make a single three-point attempt in the whole game, while Gdynia got into double-digits for triples made.
Game heroes: It was a team performance from the winning side, although Victoria Jankoska, Kahleah Copper and Sofija Aleksandravicius stood out. Janoska top-scored with 22 points, Copper added 19 and Aleksandravicius completed a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards.
The bottom line: This was how to make home advantage pay by Gdynia and barring a spectacular collapse on Russian soil, they are set to realize their goal of the Regular Season. As for Noginsk, their capitulation looks like costing them any realistic prospect of advancing.

02/10/2024 - Agnieszka Holland’s film has scooped the Golden Lions at the 49th edition of the gathering
while the Silver Lions and the biggest haul of awards went to Magnus von Horn’s The Girl with the Needle
which had its world premiere at Cannes and was the most talked-about title of the 49th edition of the Polish gathering
Others considered the jury’s decision to be fair and just
also because Green Border – which wasn’t submitted last year
even though it was released theatrically during the previous festival – faced immense political backlash from the right wing in Poland
Holland’s film also won the Audience Award and Best Sound (for Roman Dymny)

On the 20th anniversary of Slovenia's last U20 EuroBasket title
finishing the Group Phase as one of just two undefeated squads left in the tournament
Slovenia cruised through their games against Montenegro and Iceland
while taking care of business in a close contest against Lithuania and in all three games
giving the team a much needed level of ball-handling and self-created scoring
The 1.85m Guard is an impressive shotmaker who can hit jumpers both off the catch and off-the-dribble
while also utilizing his gravity as a shooter to create driving lanes for himself and open shot opportunities for teammates
After a tenth-place finish in last year's FIBA U20 EuroBasket
finishing the Group Phase undefeated and outscoring their opponents by an average of 33 points
Almansa has made an impact for Spain with his versatile scoring profile
being able to finish pick-and-roll and transition plays like a traditional big man
while also showcasing his ability to drive the ball and hit midrange jumpers
One of the most decorated players in the history of FIBA youth tournaments
a U19 World Cup and three different MVP awards under his belt
Almansa and Spain are looking tremendously difficult to beat and could be up for yet another deep run at Gdynia
but ultimately fell in a close game to Greece
Much like in last year's gold-medal run at U18 EuroBasket
Jovic has been a key for Serbia during the Group Phase
finishing as the tournament's second-leading scorer
as the Serbian forward is shooting 57.6 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range
Jovic's efficient scoring and overall versatility will be extremely valuable for Serbia during the next stages of the tournament
as they look for their first U20 title in nearly a decade
France's bid to win back-to-back U20 EuroBasket titles hit a major bump on the road
as the reigning champs dropped their game against Serbia
France will now have to face a tough Germany squad in the Round of 16
setting up a Quarter-Finals match-up against either Montenegro or powerhouse Spain
as they have one of the most talented squads in the tournament
and Noah Penda is in the midst of a breakout campaign at Gdynia
The 2.02m forward has made an impact on multiple levels of the floor for France
while also contributing with his perimeter shooting and his playmaking for others
While Tunca had already been an important piece last year for Türkiye
both at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup and the U18 EuroBasket
the Anadolu Efes guard took a leap this year
becoming the true offensive engine of the Turkish team
Tunca is a big point guard who utilizes his combination of size
length and speed to get to the rim and shoot over smaller defenders
The 18 year old is also a creative ball-handler and playmaker for others
who can control the tempo of the offense and set up teammates to score
Türkiye will have a tough test in the Round of 16 against Lithuania
who is currently leading the tournament in points and is second in assists
could find himself in the MVP conversation
Lithuania's defense is having an incredible tournament
holding opponents to just 60 points per game on 30.7 percent from the field
The key for Lithuania in this area has been Motiejus Krivas
who is leading the tournament in blocks while also ranking in the top five in rebounds
The 2.18m center utilizes his massive size not just to wreak havoc on defense
but also to impose himself on the offensive end of the floor
creating possessions for his team with his offensive rebounding and drawing fouls at a good rate
Krivas has been a consistent contributor for Lithuania through his career in FIBA youth competitions and they will rely on his ability to dominate the paint to come out on top against what looks to be a tough Round of 16 match-up against Türkiye
Milijasevic's 20-point performance against France was not only instrumental for Serbia to claim first place in Group A
it was also proof of how vital Milijasevic's aggressive scoring mentality and tough shotmaking ability are in Serbia's scheme
The 1.89m guard is on an absolute tear at Gdynia
ranking in the top five in points per game
while dishing 3.0 assists per game against just 0.7 turnovers per contest
Despite dropping one of their games in the Group Phase
Serbia is looking like one of the top teams in the competition and with Milijasevic's offensive firepower
they could be one of the teams that reach the definitive stages of the tournament
Despite a close loss in the last game of the Group Phase
Israel finished atop their group and are keeping the hope of making their sixth-straight Semi-Finals alive
The key for Israel has been efficient scoring
as they lead the tournament in three-point percentage
while ranking in the top three in field goal percentage
and Michaeli has been the embodiment of said efficiency
averaging 14.3 points per game on 58.6 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range
Michaeli has also been productive as a defender
Despite Greece's 1-2 start to the tournament
Zougris has seemingly picked up where he left off from last year's tournament
where his performance earned him an All-Star Five nod
while leading the tournament in rebounds per game
The 19-year-old forward has provided Greece with strong screen-setting
prolific rebounding and powerful driving and finishing around the basket
Coming out of an incredibly tough group that saw them face reigning champions France
Greece will head for another tough battle against Israel
and they will need Zougris to continue making an impact in order to reach the definitive stages of the tournament
Murauskas is averaging a double-double on tremendous offensive efficiency
while also posting 3.3 assists against just 1.0 turnover per game
The 2.04m Forward has been impactful for Lithuania with his usual versatility
utilizing his ball-handling and shooting skills to contribute from the perimeter
but also his sheer size and strength to make an impact as a rebounder and interior finisher
Luck of the draw has Lithuania in the same side of the bracket as Türkiye
If Lithuania can make it to the Semi-Finals
they will be one of the most battle-tested teams left standing and definitely one of the candidates to win it all; something that's definitely possible with the dynamic duo of Murauskas and Motiejus Krivas
BlackRock and MSC are set to purchase Panama Ports Company from Hong Kong-based Hutchison for $22.8 billion
gaining control of 90% of Panama’s key ports
has long opposed Chinese ownership due to security concerns over military shipments to Poland and Ukraine. The deal also includes 80% ownership in 43 global ports
contributing to Poland’s 3.37 million TEU total
raised concerns over Hutchison’s ownership
as GCT holds land ownership rights rather than leasing from the government.GCT's proximity to defense cargo operations further heightened scrutiny

The Waterfront project in Gdynia transforms industrial land into a mixed-use hub
WBJ’s Morten Lindholm sat down with Vastint’s Project Manager
Janusz Tybuszewski to discuss the ongoing project
WBJ: Tell me about the background of the project
The Waterfront project in Gdynia has seen remarkable strides since its inception
the project aimed to walk the line between a modern
while at the same time honoring Gdynia’s rich heritage as a historic harbor city
if not for the devastations of war and communism
Gdynia would have been the largest port in the Baltic
the balance between expanding civic spaces
and maintaining the industrial and strategic significance of the port
complicated by divergent priorities between the local and central governments
the usual shift from industrial areas to vibrant
mainly because the harbor still plays a key role in Poland's strategy
While cities in places like Denmark have turned old industrial areas into cultural and leisure spots
Gdynia’s waterfront needs to take a different approach—one that honors its history while also making room for growth and modern development
The Waterfront project aims to reshape a historically significant area of Gdynia
turning neglected industrial land into a vibrant
and how does it honor Gdynia’s heritage while looking towards the future
The inspiration comes from Gdynia’s history
Gdynia was on track to become one of Europe’s leading harbors
It even surpassed Hamburg and Bremerhaven in cargo volume at one point
This was an incredible achievement for a city that was once a small fishing village
from a handful of fishermen’s cottages to a city of 130,000 inhabitants before World War II
is a heritage that deserves respect and acknowledgment
Our project builds on this history by providing the “missing piece” for the city’s urban plan
Gdynia’s city-center was detached from the waterline
Vastint’s Waterfront development extends the city center directly to the coastline
The new design blends architecture and functionality
offering an elegant yet practical combination of residential
this project reconnects Gdynia to its maritime roots while looking towards the future
How do you envision Waterfront contributing to Gdynia’s economy and its reputation as a business and leisure hub
Waterfront is where the fresh sea breeze meets the buzz of business activity
This special mix is at the core of the project
It brings together the energy of a lively city center with the calm of being by the water
making it different from other urban areas
This combination improves the everyday life of residents and workers while also drawing businesses looking for a prime location
Waterfront is more than just a place to live or work; it’s a lively spot that plays a big role in Gdynia’s economy and culture
The office spaces are designed to be modern and practical
offering a space that encourages productivity while taking in beautiful sea views
This mix of uses helps Gdynia grow as a hub for both business and leisure
creating an area that supports local jobs and fuels economic growth
and leisure functions ensures that Waterfront isn’t just a workplace or residential area—it’s a vibrant community
This blend supports Gdynia’s economy by attracting businesses
and residents who value a unique lifestyle
and this positivity feeds directly into the local economy
When is the project expected to be completed
How large is the residential community expected to be
and everyday conveniences designed to enhance residents’ quality of life
The first phase was completed in 2015 and included an 11,000-square-meter office building (known as the “bank building”) and a 200 room hotel
This phase alone created about 1,000 jobs and brought back life to the area
added 16,000 square meters of office space and 126 residential apartments
The apartments will be equipped with high-quality finishes
This phase also includes 20 service units to support various business activities
and office buildings totaling 6,000 square meters
The development will create space for over 3,000 people
A standout feature of this phase will be versatile spaces that can host all sorts of events
with the option to expand into an outdoor square for bigger gatherings
This will make the Waterfront the perfect spot for events like the Polish Movie Festival and the Lady Jazz Festival
The project is all about creating a lively
It will boost Gdynia's economy and turn the area into a buzzing hub for business
and range of amenities will make it a great choice for anyone looking for a connected
Could you share more about how the design of buildings and public spaces reflects the city’s maritime character
called the "Pearl of Modernism on the Baltic" during the interwar period
Maritime-inspired elements such as balconies resembling bosun's boots
long glazed corridors reminiscent of captain’s bridges
and a predominance of white facades—dubbed “Gdynia color” before World War II—captures the city’s nautical essence
The team at JEMS architectural firm has put a modern twist on these classic nautical elements
The building facades feature detailed piping that looks like yacht poles
and sharp angles inspired by ships slicing through the waves
we’ve created open squares connected by walkways
surrounded by local greenery like dune grasses and pine trees
I’d say the design prioritizes community interaction
with outdoor seating areas and interconnected plazas
These spaces draw people in so that residents and visitors can connect
and embrace the maritime character of Gdynia
Modern design and maritime heritage come together in something of an homage to what was
How the project’s design supports a relaxed
The Waterfront apartments are all about connecting your home to the seaside vibe
you can soak in the stunning sea views right from your living room
allowing the sea breeze to flow inside and blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living
The apartments come in two unique styles—Harbor and Yacht—both inspired by the sea

On Saturday the finals of the 29er European Championship
held as part of the 25th edition of Gdynia Sailing Days began
Each of the fleets managed to complete three races
In the Overall standings Ewa Lewandowska and Krzysztof Królik managed to secure the first place and in the mixed category
Just four points behind them stand yesterday’s leaders – Italians Alex Demurtas and Giovanni Santi
Third and fourth Overall place belongs to British crews – Finian Morris with Charlie Gran and James Crossley with Sam Webb
Poles Bartosz ?mudzi?ski and August Sobczak still reign in the U17 category
Second amongst the youths are Frenchmen Alexander Mostini and Raphael Allain
today’s wind was the strongest and most consistent out of all the days we’ve been here
so it was nice to feel the pressure rising amongst other teams
After the second race the wind died down a little
so it was difficult to keep up a good position and we unfortunately lost our good streak
we definitely learned that Gdynia is a pretty challenging venue to race in
We like it here and we’re looking forward to the final two days of the Championship” – summed up the British Finian Morris and Charlie Gran
Alicja Tutkowska and Alicja Dampc still hold first place amongst women with an impressive lead of 45 points over the British team of Annabelle Vines and Amelie Hiscocks
The rivarly is tighter between the second and third – a Finnish team of Una Heinila and Silija- Sophie Laukkaken
Second place in the mixed category currently goes to to Swedish duo of Selma Hard and Lukas Wolfgang
They hold a seven – point lead over the third team – Italians Giulia Bartolozzi and Pietro Rizzi
“After the gold fleet races we can definitely say that the level of the field is very high
which makes it harder for us to gain speed in stronger winds
We finished 15th in the first race which was good
however that was unfortunately followed by a bad 38th finish
In the end we managed to redeem ourselves with a 33rd place
so overall it was an okay day for us” said the Italians
Three more races are scheduled for Day 7 and 8 where the European Champions of the Mixed
Mens and Women’s fleets will be crowned on Monday 8th July
The Nations Cup award goes to the Country with the top three teams from at least two categories
As the second day of 29er European Championships closes
it’s the French team of Nolann Huet Des Aunay and Titouan Gresset who remain on the top of the leaderboard overnight
Summing up their day after racing: “We like shifty wind
so even though the conditions aren’t the easiest we are happy with them
In our home city La Baule we have a pretty similar venue
The FRA 3425 team managed to win four out of six races conducted today
“Our target is to be fast and secure the first position
For the moment we don’t have one true rival
the person we are competing with most changes every race
The real fight with one team will probably begin in the finals,” said the leaders
Second place overall belongs currently to an Italian team
After managing to secure first places in all three races
Alex Demurtas and Giovanni Santi place themselves just two points behind regatta leaders
What’s important to note is that the top two teams sail in different fleets and haven’t had the chance to compete directly yet
“Today was quite different from yesterday
with a big shift in wind direction from west to east
This caused some difficulties and changes in our racing
but despite that we still managed to keep our top 3 position
All of the teams competing here are very strong
The top 10 teams are on a very similar level to us
which keeps it interesting” – summed up the Italians
Polish team Bartosz ?mudzi?ski and August Sobczak are also leaders of the U17 group
as they won two races and came in second in the third
The conditions were very merciful to all Polish teams
which made sailing very difficult for people who are not familiar with it
Lucikly for us this is a pretty common wave here
so we were prepared and knew exactly how to deal with it” said the team
Mix teams category is led by Ewa Lewandowska and Krzysztof Królik whereas in women Alicja Tutkowska and Alicja Dampc take provisional pole position overnight
Friday marks the end of qualifying for all 138 teams
On Saturday all 25 competing nations will partake in the final series
Bronze and Emerald for the remainder of the regatta here in the spectacular port of Gdynia and the European Champions will be determined on Monday 8th July
The festival kicked off with a screening of Poland's Oscar entry
Under the Volcano directed by Damian Kocur
while 29 entries compete in the Short Film category
The prestigious Platinum Lions Award will be presented to renowned filmmaker Wojciech Marczewski
