at the bottom of this page Following the December commemoration of the National Day of the Victorious Greater Poland Uprising in Bydgoszcz regional celebrations were held on Sunday (January 5) in Inowrocław and Pałuki won their freedom with the sword and here we bow our heads before these heroes,” said Dariusz Kurzawa The Inowrocław ceremonies began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Greater Poland Insurgent followed by reenactment group presentations and a gala in the municipal theater that included a concert by a military orchestra The events were preceded by a mass for the homeland at the basilica in Inowrocław “By honoring the heroic people of Greater Poland we emphasize that we in Kujawy and Pomorze regard the Greater Poland Uprising as part of our shared Polish path to freedom,” emphasized Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski who represented the Regional Self-Government during the Bydgoszcz commemoration These events took place on December 27 at the garrison church and the Monument to the Unknown Greater Poland Insurgent “We have a duty to remember that there is such a thing as the ethos of serving Poland May we not lack patience and humility in this service and may we unite both in the face of threats and in times when we must build the foundations of our nation’s success together we build upon the foundations left to us by our predecessors,” said Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski during his Bydgoszcz speech After Poland regained independence in November 1918 the territories of the Prussian partition remained under German control The visit of the renowned pianist and future Prime Minister Ignacy Jan Paderewski to Poznań inspired the people of the Greater Poland capital to assert their Polish identity In response to German provocations and counter-demonstrations quickly spreading across almost the entire former Province of Poznań The armistice signed in Trier in February 1919 did not halt the hostilities It was only the Treaty of Versailles in June 1919 that granted Poland most of the Greater Poland portion of the former Prussian partition Marshal's Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Poland (AP) — A Polish opposition senator whose phone was hacked with advanced spyware has filed a civil suit against Poland’s ruling party leader for slander over comments suggesting that he was placed under surveillance in connection to wrongdoing Hours after the news was reported Monday about Sen Krzysztof Brejza’s case against Kaczynski Polish prosecutors informed Brejza’s father that he was under investigation as a suspect and needed to appear for questioning Both father and son insist that they have done nothing wrong and accuse authorities of seeking political revenge They also believe the ruling Law and Justice party is trying to cast suspicion on them as a way to justify the use of the surveillance software a tool meant to fight terrorism and other serious crimes The hacking revelations have rocked Poland drawing comparisons to the 1970s Watergate scandal in the United States and eliciting calls for an investigative commission in parliament READ MORE: EU says Lukashenko using refugee crisis to ‘destabilize’ region, overwhelm Polish border Brejza called the decision to summon his father “revenge targeting the family” for the lawsuit and for revealing “crimes related to illegal surveillance of the opposition.” He spoke Monday at a news conference in parliament alongside his wife said he was delivered a letter informing him that he must appear for questioning as a suspect but wasn’t informed of what the case involves “I feel a little like the character from the Franz Kafka novel ‘The Trial.’ I don’t know what this concerns I can only guess,” he told the news station TVN24 Krzysztof Brejza was hacked multiple times in 2019 mostly when he was running the opposition’s parliamentary election campaign according to an analysis by experts at the Citizen Lab a research institute at the University of Toronto The findings were confirmed by technical experts at Amnesty International Citizen Lab found that two other Polish critics of the right-wing authorities were also hacked all three with Pegasus spyware by Israel’s NSO Group The Associated Press reported the hackings in exclusive reports based on the Citizen Lab and Amnesty International findings Kaczynski acknowledged Friday that Poland had purchased Pegasus describing it as a tool that many states now have to combat crime and corruption text messages stolen from his phone were doctored and OppCharge pantograph charging stations of 300 kW each supply 8 electric buses on the streets of the city Inowrocław took delivery of 8 Volvo 7900 electric buses (plus 8 hybrids) following a tender won by the Swedish company in March 2018 This is a one of the first implementation of the OppCharge system in Poland The company is an e-mobility charging infrastructure provider with 8 years of experience Reverse pantograph gives compatibility of charging regardless of the bus manufacturer And the charging by pantograph is completely automatic and does not require driver action Pantographs will power buses with hybrid and fully electric drive The three OppCharge pantograph charging stations represent the second order for Inowrocław realized by Ekoenergetyka-Polska: a plug-in type depot charger of 40 kW power was previously delivered Inowrocław is the next city on the map of Poland where Ekoenergetyka is providing its charging stations «It gives us great satisfaction that with our products we are changing public transport in Poland for the better – says Bartosz Kubik we are glad that we have contributed to the city’s goal of 100% ecological transport» «With the launch of our has received an order for eight fully electric buses and eight electric hybrid buses from Inowrocław in Poland It is the first order from a Polish city for both bus models from Volvo decided to update its bus fleet to become all electrified Volvo hybrids are already in operation in the city situated in northern Poland now they will be accompanied by 8 fully electric buses and 8 electric hybrid buses from Volvo The vehicles will be manufactured at the Volvo factory in Wroclaw All vehicles are scheduled for delivery in 2018.  “We are very happy to supply the city of Inowrocław with more of our electrified buses and contribute to their transition to an all electrified bus fleet We can now see that more and more of the world’s cities are choosing electrified city bus traffic in order to deal with poor air quality and noise,” says Håkan Agnevall The electrified buses are being sold as a turnkey package whereby Volvo takes care of all vehicle and battery maintenance The buses will have two charging options; fast-charging at the end stops via pantograph The charging stations will be based on the common interface OppCharge whereby the charging stations can also be used by electrified buses from other vehicle manufacturers too Energy consumption for Volvo’s electric buses is about 80 per cent lower than for corresponding diesel buses The figure for the electric hybrid is about 60 %.  Volvo has previously supplied its hybrid buses to Polish cities and Volvo 7900 Hybrids operate in Wrocław Volvo supplied 35 hybrids to Sosnowiec which now has the biggest fleet of hybrid buses in Poland Volvo has sold more than 3,900 electrified buses to public transport operators the world over The deal was signed on Thursday by Deputy PM and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at an /PRNewswire/ -- Over the last 1.5 years the CIECH Group implemented a series of improvements in the production of soda ash in the Group's Polish plants which account for the annual production of soda of nearly 1.5 million tons The activities resulted in smoother production a more efficient exploitation of raw materials in technological processes and a reduced rate of CO2 emissions per ton of soda ash produced The Group will continue its activities aimed at reducing CO2 emissions by around 30 percent in the period of the next five years vs year 2019 which in the face of rising CO2 certificate prices remains the main challenge for soda manufacturers Combined with the growing CAPEX aimed at reducing emissions this may lead to pressure on increasing soda prices on the European market Soda ash production is energy-consuming – in both Polish plants of the Group there are dedicated heat and power plants supplying process steam necessary for soda ash production Energy efficiency is one of the key determinants in terms of production expenses and the competitiveness of soda production over the last 1.5 years we have been working intensively to improve the efficiency of soda production The discernible reduction of unscheduled production outages the increase of the actual levels of soda production and the decrease of CO2 per ton of soda ash produced are amongst the results of our work which translate into real savings," says Dawid Jakubowicz President of the Management Board of CIECH S.A the CO2 emission rate per ton of soda in the Polish plants has seen a reduction by approx which enables savings of several million zlotys a year while the effective production capacity[1] has already increased by approx CIECH is taking advantage of the growing competitiveness achieved as a result of the activities in the Sales & Operations Planning area This allowed CIECH to use the production capacity and simultaneously optimize the amount of raw materials in the soda production process The result is a smooth production process and an appropriate level of stocks as we are in the process of implementing a plan to increase the efficiency of soda production including significant ventures such as the partial transition to gas in our Inowrocław plant as well as the development of 150 initiatives related to increasing the efficiency of our heat and power plants These efforts have an ample impact on the level of our competitiveness and reflect our determination to emphasize our position on the CEE soda ash market," says Dawid Jakubowicz which produced over 500,000 tonnes of soda per year CIECH focuses on the maximum use of the potential of the plants in Poland and Germany and supplying customers in Europe with soda ash The possible scenario of a further increases in the prices of CO2 certificates (which have tripled since the beginning of 2018) raw materials or capital expenditures for the "green energy transformation" may translate into an increase in soda prices on the European market "The entire soda production industry based in Europe operates under the same conditions and everyone is aware of the obligation to meet the ambitious objectives defined by the European Union higher CO2 certificates and raw material prices combined with investments related with decarbonization may be reflected in the prices this resource in Europe," emphasises Dawid Jakubowicz In order to reduce the level of CO2 emissions the CIECH Group is implementing a multi-faceted decarbonisation strategy which assumes modernisation of combined heat and power plants in Poland as well as the use of photovoltaics as a source of electricity and heat in the Group's plants CO2 emissions could be reduced by 30 per cent vs year 2019 "Although these initiatives differ in scale and implementation horizon they have one common denominator - reducing CO2 emissions and thus improving CIECH's competitiveness and implementing the idea of sustainable development of the entire Group as part of our strategy," sums up Dawid Jakubowicz Apart from issues related to the reduction of CO2 emissions CIECH is intensively implementing solutions involving the optimization of the production process through digitization in order to increase efficiency through Advanced Process Control solutions or the use of neural networks the soda plants are implementing the so-called insourcing strategy (resigning from third-party subcontractors and relying on the Group's own resources) of repair and maintenance processes for production lines through CIECH Maintenance a company operating since the beginning of the year The CIECH Group manufactures light and heavy soda in two plants – Inowrocław and Janikowo The production capacity of these factories stands at 1.5 million tons per year the German soda factory located in Stassfurt produces approx The total soda manufactured by the CIECH Group gives it the position of the second largest producer in the European Union with a strong standing on European and global markets and with a stable strategic investor (Kulczyk Investments) The company exports its products to over 100 countries around the world CIECH manufactures products of the highest which are further used to produce articles which are essential in the everyday life of people all over the world it combines a modern approach to business with the tradition of production which dates back to 1882 the company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and on one of the largest stock exchanges in Europe: Börse Frankfurt More information is The Inowroclaw CHP plant consists of four OP-110 coal fired boilers and provides energy to the Inowroclaw Chemical Plant The CHP plant is in the national transition plan in Poland for compliance with the IE directive and will have to comply with tight annual emission ceilings for sulfur dioxide nitrogen oxides and particulate starting in 2017 Valmet's scope includes the delivery of a common wet limestone based flue gas desulphurization (FGD) installation to desulphurize the flue gases from all the four existing coal fired boilers It further includes the delivery of a selective reduction catalyst (SCR) system to be installed into each boiler for denitrification of the flue gases Each boiler will also be equipped with a new rotating air preheater and new flue gas fan to further extend their lifetime The wet limestone FGD installation is planned to be in commercial operation in June 2017 The first SCR installation will be operational in June 2016 and the last in October 2018 "The advantage of our FGD solution based on wet limestone is the relatively low cost of the limestone sorbent and the production of commercial-grade gypsum that can be used in a wide variety of applications in the building industry Wet limestone FGD is also a well-established technology with references worldwide and proven reliability," says Frank Ligthart - Senior Sales Manager CEN at Valmet Information about the customer CIECH Soda Polska S.A is a 100% subsidiary of the CIECH group and operates two soda plants located at Inowroclaw and Janikowo in Poland It is the only company in Poland that produces dense and light soda ash It also manufactures wet and dry evaporated salt Other products manufactured by the company include The main customers are national and international glass manufacturers fodder industry and pharmaceutical industry Solution Sales Manager Environmental Systems Valmet is the leading global developer and supplier of technologies Valmet's vision is to become the global champion in serving its customers Valmet's services cover everything from maintenance outsourcing to mill and plant improvements and spare parts The strong technology offering includes pulp mills as well as power plants for bio-energy production Valmet's advanced automation solutions range from single measurements to mill wide turnkey automation projects Polish Mi-24 pilots have trained on the simulator of the said helicopter for the first time in 2018 For pilots of all types of aircrafts such as helicopters simulator is a standard part of the training for those who sit behind the controls of the Mi-24 - it was not and no company in Europe has met the requirements of the 1st Land Forces Aviation Brigade (1 Brygada Lotnictwa Wojsk Lądowych) which is in charge of the air bases equipped with Mi-24 in Inowrocław and Pruszcz Gdanski we have tried to find a provider of such training Even a suitable tender inquiry has been submitted no one came forward," says Lieutenant-Colonel Krzysztof Kwiatkowski commander of the 1st Helicopter Assault Squadron of 56th Air Base in Inowrocław a company providing training in the Mi-24 simulator at its compound in Petrovac (Macedonia) it turned out that the device is adapted to the more modern version of Mi-24 In order to check whether the training makes sense and how the simulators look like Lieutenant Colonel Krzysztof Kwiatkowski and Lieutenant Colonel Marcin Kurandy commander of the Aviation Action Group at 49th Air Base in Pruszcz Gdański The basic difference between the Polish Mi-24 and the version called Alexander concerns displays in the upper pilot cabin (Mi-24 has two cabins: the upper one is for the first pilot - the crew commander and the lower one is for the second pilot - the operator) pilots have decided that the simulator will be suitable for training "Main analog instruments were left in the simulator booth speedometer and variometer are located in the simulator in exactly the same position where they are in the Polish Mi-24 says the commander of the Inowrocław squadron Many more differences have been discovered in the lower cabin of the helicopter "Instead of a station to control the weapons there are two displays and a mission computer so the training is difficult for the co-pilot," says Lt A total of about 50 pilots from 56th Air Base and 49th Air Base went to Macedonia in 2018 Why the training did not cover all the pilots serving in both bases when we did not yet knew that the training would take place how to modify the course in the future and how to diversify the missions I can count on such tips from pilots who already have some experience" The Mi-24 helicopter simulator located at the training compound in Petrovac is an FMS (Full Mission Simulator) From the outside it looks like a large sphere some images corresponding to the mission that the pilot performs are being displayed The airmen emphasize that the flight in the simulator is very realistic it tilts the same way and gives the impression of moving in a circle Jacek Janowski from the 56th Air Base in Inowrocław The center has also a simulation control center Macedonian and Polish instructors are watching - while standing meters away - what pilots are doing inside the sphere "The Macedonians were rather responsible for the technical maintenance of the simulator but we were the ones to decide on how the mission should look like Each movement of the pilot is being recorded so in real time we saw which devices he turned on Polish instructors do not have such possibility because the Mi-24 is constructed in such a way that pilots from the first and the second cabin cannot see each other Instructors cannot control whether trainees are being focused on right instruments "Sometimes a procedure in the simulator was failing and it turned out that the pilot was watching the wrong indicator For what emergency situations have the pilots trained for "When the hydraulic installation fails - first the main one one of the most important tasks of the pilots is to control the helicopter The problem is that the installation is responsible for control assistance so in order to safely land a three-ton helicopter on the ground Sometimes you need the strength of two pilots in order to pull the control stick" It is difficult to train such situation in the real world as is the case of the event of a fire of engines - one of the most dangerous failures "In the simulator it looks the same as in reality so we receive information about the fact that we have a fire a system that loudly informs about a failure I look at the control devices of the power unit - if there is a fire I can see how the engine temperature is rising" Pilots perform next steps listed on the checklist you can control the situation" - one of them says The pilot checks whether the fire extinguishing tank has worked and then turns off the burning engine I go to the next point of the protocol - a flight with one engine.. And then to the next - an emergency landing" but during the first flights in the simulator even experienced pilots have crashed the helicopter they are all as important as the knowledge of procedures because these are the situations that carry a huge risk We do it at a safe height and at a safe distance everything happens by surprise and in the least comfortable conditions" some of the procedures are being practiced on the ground Turn on the lights and turn them off again.. The pilot memorizes and masters these activities but there is no adrenaline and stress" says the commander of the Inowrocław squadron The CRM (Crew Resource Management) - that is crew's cooperation in emergency situations - has also been practiced it was supposed to be a training for crew commanders only but it turned out that the simulator can also be used in pilot-operator training" "They learned that their role during the flight is very important," adds the commander of the Aviation Action Group responsibilities must become divided between the two pilots "The number of stimuli that the crew commander is experiencing is so high that at some point the other pilot has to take over some tasks - from reading points from the checklist to the helicopter control Then the crew commander has time to deal with switching turning off or switching on further devices in his cabin Due to the fact that in the Mi-24 they are not only in the cockpit in front of the commander he may find it difficult to turn them off and simultaneously look ahead help of the co-pilot is very important in such cases" How experienced pilots benefited from the training My chances of surviving the malfunction of a helicopter have increased I know that if something would happen to me in the air I will have what I have practiced in the simulator before my eyes" says Lt "There is no way to train for all emergency situations during the real flight I had a small amount of hours spent in the air at that time because I finished the School of Eaglets only a year and a half earlier have allowed me to happily land in a casual area so nobody paid any attention to mistakes thant I have made And such knowledge is very important for pilots and the simulator gives us the opportunity to obtain it" Pilots admit that it would be best to train more frequently Since there is no chance of that to happen But the training program will be slightly modified training procedures in emergency situations to be a surprise for the pilot in training so that he cannot be prepared for a specific situation" that in 2019 all pilots of this machine will undergo training in the Mi-24 flight simulator "Training in Macedonia has already been included in their individual training plans" The route will include cities such as Wrocław There will be four daily departures – three during the day and one at night The journey from Prague to Gdańsk is expected to take around 9 hours A ticket for the longest stretch of the route is expected to cost up to 73 euros According to rynek-kolejowy.pl PKP Intercity has not yet reached an agreement with the Czech Republic regarding the addition of a sleeping car or couchette to the Baltic Express The restaurant car will only be available on the Polish section of the route Polish State Railways (PKP Intercity) will operate a total of 505 long-distance connections A new feature will be additional services from Przemyśl located near the Polish-Ukrainian border in the southeastern part of Poland to the northernmost areas along the Baltic Sea coast Nowy rozkład jazdy od 15 grudnia to aż 505 połączeń dalekobieżnych PKP Intercity – o 51 więcej niż rok temu.
