its first factory in Poland After construction is complete – currently scheduled for 2024 – the factory in Ksawerów a suburban municipality near the city of Łódź in central Poland is expected to employ 3,000 people by 2030 “The decision to locate the new factory in Poland has many benefits: it will give Daikin access to the largest pool of skilled workers in Central and Eastern Europe access were installed in Europe amid an energy crisis and green transition that increased demand for heating sources independent of fossil fuels Daikin estimates that the figure will reach 3.5 million by 2025 Heat pumps work rather like air-conditioning in reverse transferring thermal energy from outside a building to the inside estimates that they replaced 4 billion cubic metres of natural gas in Europe last year avoiding about 8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions While EHPA figures show that heat pump installations increased by 38% across 16 European markets last year according to the Polish subsidies, including under the government’s Clean Air programme and, as of this month Daikin’s investment in a heat pump factory was hailed by development minister Waldemar Buda – who attended the becoming the main element of the region’s economic development One of the most spectacular projects in the region is the new heat pump factory of Japanese technology giant Daikin whose value is estimated at EUR 300 million will be opened in Ksawerów near Łódź in the very near future It will be Daikin’s first plant in Poland and one of the most modern production complexes in Central and Eastern Europe This investment will create as many as 3,000 new jobs by 2030 which will significantly affect the local employment market and economy The production of heat pumps is a response to the growing demand for green heating solutions in Europe also supporting EU regulations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions The Łódz Special Economic Zone attracts many Japanese companies such as JTI Polska in Stary Gostków and Takeda are also operating in Łódz but  outside the zone Further projects from Japan are to be announced in the coming months Procedures for issuing a decision on support for new investments are underway which only confirms that interest in the region among Japanese entrepreneurs is constantly growing as an importer of Japanese electronics and technology is also developing the export of its products to Japan Local companies from the Łódź Voivodeship are increasingly establishing cooperation with Japanese food chains presenting their production and complement existing European production bases in Belgium According to Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki Daikin’s investment is the largest of a foreign company in Poland in recent years This investment comes on top of €840m announced last year by Daikin This brings Daikin Europe’s total investment amount to €1.2bn by 2025 Daikin Europe president Toshitaka Tsubouchi said the company
