With a 9.00 backport of Elden ring circulating for Jailbroken PS4s
it has now become possible to mod the PS4 version of Elden Ring to some extent
A huge part of the popularity of Souls Games
This functionality is typically not possible on console versions
except for official mods shipping through an update
This has changed with today’s release from Lapy
This “Elden Ring Easy Mod” brings the following features
is “Only for inexperienced Souls players like me”:
Youtuber BrutalSam has a video showcasing the mod
that you might want to check to see it in action (video below)
Although Lapy didn’t describe exactly his process, he mentions he’s used Yapped Rune Bear
which apparently has done a good enough job for the PS4 version
It would be interesting to see if more mods for Elden Ring PS4 get released in the days or weeks to come
You can download the mod here
You will need the PS4 backport of Elden Ring
which is unfortunately a huge IP infringing package so we won’t share a download link here

Weakling stay off souls games if you can’t deal with the difficulty
yeah no that’s not how the souls community works if you can’t deal with the difficulty don’t play the game pure and simple plus souls player don’t care for weak worms like this person playing the same game as them it becomes git gud or *** off
Well 2Ceedz I couldn’t care less that they can do cool things I’m not trolling and it becomes the fact of can’t deal with the difficulty then don’t play the game pure and simple and as for being bored no I’m not bored souls players just don’t want people like this playing the same game as them but maybe that’s a concept that you don’t understand

PS4 Scene developer Lapy has released a new piece of homebrew: PS4 Player 3D is an MP4 Video player with support for 3D Videos
This is a first release of course so it comes with limitations (it only supports MP4 files for now
but this is a very promising tool and I’m hoping we’ll see some updates down the line
PS4 Player 3D is a Homebrew application for the PS4 that lets you play 3D movie files
It leverages PSVR (but this is not a requirement) for immersive 3D support
Dravszoo has a video demonstrating the application (at about 4:00 in the video):

Developer Lapy has released some pretty original piece of homebrew game today: Live Die Repeat
The game is using some footage of the Tom Cruise movie
with gameplay inspired by old arcade classic Dragon’s Lair
in which you had to try to find the right moves via trial and error
Dragon’s Lair was a popular arcade game in the early eighties
and is basically the grandfather of quicktime events
meaning the narrative is predetermined and the player has very limited influence on its progression. The game consists almost entirely of animated cutscenes
The player does not control the character’s actions directly
with actions determined by selecting a direction or pressing a button in order to clear each quick time event
with different full motion video segments showing the outcomes
Dragon’s Lair was brutally hard (after all
designed to make you insert coins constantly)
as you had to try and retry the events multiple times before “getting them right”
Lapy’s idea to re-implement a similar system with Cruise’s movie “Live Die Repeat” (aka Edge of Tomorrow) is genius: retrying stuff until you get things right is basically the whole plot of this “groundhog day” movie
the protagonist played by Tom Cruise finds himself in a time loop where he constantly dies in a battle against aliens
The move shows him progressively learning how to survive on the battlefield
leveraging this into a Dragon’s Lair clone is pretty brilliant

PlayStation Homebrew developer Lapy is back with a release
PS5-Xplorer is a Work-in-progress File Manager for your hacked PS5. The Tool is based on Lapy’s PS4-Xplorer
or delete files on your PS5’s hard drive
It also allows you to open some files such as text files and view their content
meaning it only has access to what the system lets it see… in other words only a handful of folders at the moment
this should really be considered only as a “test” release
Hopefully future releases will allow to do more with the tool
NanoSpeedGamer has a video that showcases Lapy’s homebrew below (at 3:10 in the video):

Lapy has published a minor update to his file managers for the PS4 and PS5
pushing PS4-Xplorer to version 2.02 and PS5-Xplorer to 1.02 respectively
These are minor updates and you can probably skip them unless you need the new “log” functionality
PS4-Xplorer and PS5-Xplorer are File Managers for your Hacked PS4 and/or hacked PS5. PS5-Xplorer itself is based on Lapy’s PS4-Xplorer

but with the ps4 security system > FW 9.03
It seems like PS4 and PS5 cannot leverage and inherit the same security exploits
The vulnerability used on PS5s for all these is literally inherited from an older PS4 exploit
And that is the only kernel exploit on PS5 publicly known so far
based on an old PS4 Kernel exploit (on 7.00 if I recall correctly?) that resurfaced on PS5 most likely due to a human mistake
It’s just that no *new* one has been disclosed for either console
not true…depends on how the exploit was performed and using what hardware component/software component….
most recent ps hacks have been all based upon protocols used or software ever since the ps3 really…
the big exploit release that i remember for ps4 was the 4.55 one…..it was the first exploit to really allow full access to the ps4 root system that allowed for most current games to be still played.
(before that you were stuck on mostly launch-ish titles from 2-3 years prior)
That exploit was mostly based around a webkit exploit that existed on the ps4 due to the consoles “sorta web browser” thast was a totally unusable browser instance really
That finally allowed devs to root around for the remaining needed kernal exploit needed for true full system access…with just the webkit exploit
you could mess around with the ps4….
heck i got ftp servers working right away) even without the kernal (aka you still couldnt load up any sort of custom launchers or cheat engines or such… but you could modify user level stuff…
moves moviesa to and from wirelessly…etc)
that exploit wasnt even discovered by a dev trying to jailbreak the ps4… it was actually Ian Beer i believe when working on ios jailbreakng… as the webkit was developed largely by apple… and in the extremely rare circumstance that apple shares its property and work
made the webkit availble to other companies (largely because apple deveoped it with help from google since google is essentially all things internet it seems
That webkit exploit introduced the ios 12 jailbreak eventually i believe it was…
the dev of the jailbreak (iqwertiuop or whatever) literally credits ian beer in his jailbreak announcement
The iqwertyiuop got interested in ps4… he goes “hmmm this webkit api looks familiar… contacted a ps4 scene dev and voila….userland exploit achieved…
just because the ps5 is on diff firmware revisiobs of the ps4
doesnt mean jack for exploits…just because theres diff hardware
doesnt mean exploits for ps4 wont work on ps5.
Heck the first “exploit” for ps5 dropped because of the 7.02 exploit on the ps4… (also still a webkit exploit i believe for access purposes.) it worked on both machines… only diff was the ps4 eventually also got a kernal exploit that worked on 7.02…the ps5
didnt because devs hadnt had time to find one yet cuz there hadnt been time (or consoles..you need multiple consoles to actively dev for kernal exploit cuz you prob will scxrew ish up while searching…
you need a userland exploit before you canm search around for kernal exploits cuz you cant explore and tinker with possible karnal access points without first being able to see those things at all…
and sometimes the kernal exploits dont get totally patched… they can still be done on later firmwares…
just no one really knows for sure until you get userland access back again for later firmwares…userland access is silly easy to fix on a quick small update on sonys side….usually
you cant jailbreak the console cuz you can longer run the kernal exploit dump since userland is gone again
a perfect example of this is the jb development between 4.55 and 7.02.
you could actually still jailbreak a ps4 in terms of the kernal…that was until liike 6.05 i believe
you couldnt run the payload cuz the first webkit exploit was shut off (until someone found a way to open it up again)……however,
sony finally patched the kernal exploit before firmware 7.0
Most llikely cuz it was rumored a new userland exploit was created in the wild by a dev and possibly getting released soon…
this meant that ps4 users willing to waIT on firmware lower than 7 waited there til new userland came around 7.02… that meant if you were still under 7
but you needed to wait for a new kernal vuln…
i went on a tangent..im sorry but everyone always gets this stuff way wrong and outr of context…
you are looking at a possible new exploit coming in the comings months for the ps5 on the new firmwares.
with theflow announcing he just got a 10k bounty from hackerONE and some unknown person getting a record $50k…something big dropped recently…
it was bad enough that they decided to just pull a nintendo switch (aka stupid f’in mariko switches) and just cease hardware productiion as is and roll out totally new stuff…(if the early slim relese was about dollars they would have changed the pro release date to…
99% positive this is all occuring due to a new massive kernal exploit….chances are the 50k one is a massive 0-day type kernal exploit…
that prob affects all current hardware used on any firmware…
kinda like the iphone checkra1n bootrom exploit that apple cant patch at all but only works on lower apple devices
the 10k onew is prob a new userland type exploit…
techincally the ps5 slim still has all the same guts….but they def changed some things inside…they had to (to reduce the size and still deal with the massive heat generateds on these consoles
the switch didnt say anything changed when they started pumping out marikos…
it was the same switch..but they made a slight change to a chip that had nothing to do with system specs and performance…
model revisions on most all consoles usually happen due to exploits….xbox had done this…nintendo….even sony many times before…
whenever you see a console getting “a new build revision update but zero changes in terms of performance or such
it 99% ofd the time turns out the public finds oout diown the line
the revision actually “coincidently” blocked an exploit
Do I understand correctly that if your game requires a higer FW it won’t run
games have firmware requirements baked into the actual game files
So say you have a game (ill use Mass ffect Andromeda as an example cuz its how i missed out on the 4.55 ps4 jailbreak)….there are minimum firmware requirements on it… usually the firmware needs to be released with the past year or so….sometimes longer
sometimes much shorter)they say its cuz the game needs access to stuff only privded in recent updates….sometimes thats true…most times its not…its an anti piracy tool
there is no way to modify or remove that requirement most times..,..not all games do this but most decent selling aaa titles do… the more in demand the title
the more strict the requirement usually is…sometimes some modders have gotten some games availble as dumps to run….but usually they arent the most popular games and usually the game loses tons of functionality asa result.
at all…or missing settings optiuons and such
the only way to play a new title with a new firmware requirement is to wait until a new kernal exploit for a higher firmware version came along…userland exploits wont solve this at all.
sometimes other typles of “hacks” come out that present workl around methods…
right after the ps4 4.55 exploit dropped… tons of peeps dropped onboard because suddenly like 3 years of games were playable again…
most game devs got much stricter with min firmware requirements….many game drops started requiring the newest firmware builds right away..not ones from omnths prior right after this exploit…
and instead of the proxy serving up a exploit for userland access came
instead it would create a system hook on the ps4 to call the proxy anythime a game was loaded up… you simply typed in whatever firmware version to “spoof” and voila….game booted up…
i used this myself to forcibly install games myself
cuz i wanted to holdout for a jailbreak in the 5-6 firmware gens as everyone kept saying the kerenal exploit still existed and just needed a new userland attack…aka guarenteed jb in the future…
that worked for like 6 months… the sony axed that hack as well
Does etaHEN work on all games or there are compatibility issues
and some compatibility lists are floating aroun
I am looking a about for any news on early ps5 firmware
I got a ps5 on firmware 2.25 so cfw with full hypervision exploit will be golden
but that might change as firmware files are already decrypted
I got a 2.20 and 3.10 can i run etahen on either
It’s as close as it gets to a CFW for the PS5
but if you think about what makes a CFW from a use case perspective
Edit for a more constructive answer: it depends what you personally define as a “CFW” and what aspects of that definition matter to you

Sony officially dropped Youtube Support from the PS Vita back in 2015. Although technically it is still possible to watch youtube on the PS Vita through the integrated browser, a native app is often more appreciated. This is what GrapheneCt‘s Netstream brings back
Version 2.00 and 2.01 add support for other ways to watch video content (FTP support)
NetStream is a PS Vita homebrew app that lets you watch Youtube on Sony’s handheld
Please read included PS Vita user manual for more information and controls
You can Download NetStream from the project’s github here. Please note that you will need to Jailbreak your PS vita in order to run this tool

GrapheneCt is one of my most favorite PS Vita developers
It only takes Youtube to roll out another update to kill this indie app
This is how it always has been in the past with YouTube on non-officially supported devices
Somebody makes an app to enable YouTube on an old device
then YouTube updates and the app doesn’t work no more till the app dev scramble out a fix
and then YouTube updates again and breaks the app again
and so on… and pretty soon the dev stops fixing his app and the whole thing just went dead again
That’s a fair statement…we can use it while it lasts I guess… For example I still used Vanced on Android despite it officially shutting down several months ago
thanks wololo for always bringing great info for ps5 and older game systems

I really like being able to update a game patch without all that manual work
Of course the only downside if that you can’t block Sony’s servers
I wish that when you change the DNS settings from Manual to Auto it didn’t delete the manual DNS entries
I am glad that save dumping is gone as saves I tried to re-import the game saw as corrupted
I can’t wait for the Itemzflow update for the PS5 that doesn’t require manually decrypting exe files
I know a new dumper is in the works but I don’t know if it includes auto decryption or not
there are some huge savings to be had on the German brand’s first battery-electric model
depending on how closely you look at the original and final prices
which equates to a discount of almost 25 per cent – about a quarter of the normal drive-away price
The biggest difference we saw on Mercedes-Benz Australia’s website while compiling this report was $38,736 (from an original price of $159,846 down to just $121,110 drive-away) and this was by no means an outlier
More than half of the advertised EQC vehicles were discounted by more than $20,000 and at least a dozen by more than $30,000
Discounts of this scale are rare in today’s auto industry these days and place the four-year-old EV in the same price territory as premium mid-size electric SUVs like the Genesis GV70 Electrified
Since then Mercedes-Benz has sold 1052 examples of the EQC – which now faces stiff opposition from the all-conquering Tesla Model Y
Kia EV6 and Lexus RZ – and released several new EVs including the EQA
But although it’s getting a bit long in the tooth now, the 2020 carsales Car of the Year Contender can still hold its own in terms of firepower and driving range
packing 300kW/760Nm and capable of covering up to 430km on a single charge
At the heart of its dual-motor powertrain is an 80kWh lithium-ion battery capable of being charged at up to 110kW when using DC power
Mercedes says this is enough to add 220km of range in about half an hour
But the pioneering EV will likely be the first Mercedes-Benz EQ model to be replaced and the second-generation EQC has already been spied testing in Europe
ahead of its expected reveal in Europe sometime in 2025
That means we probably won’t see it Down Under until 2026
by which time most combustion-powered Mercedes models – and all of its SUVs – will be available in EV form
and that the EQB will likely soldier on as the three-pointed star brand’s only mid-size electric SUV for the next couple of years
this isn’t another Xbox console exclusive making the jump to PlayStation — at least not yet — and not officially from Xbox themselves
as a PlayStation hacking and modding scene dev has taken it upon themselves to port over Ninja Theory’s latest title
to a PlayStation platform in a pretty unique way
as it isn’t running natively on the console but rather what the developer calls “simulated gameplay” that uses QTE inputs
They’ve been teasing it for quite some months, but PlayStation homebrew and app maker Lapy has finally released his newest project for the scene
It’s an interesting one that builds upon his previous Edge of Tomorrow game
They took the “simulated gameplay” concept they had there and used it to make a playable port for Hellblade 2 on the PS4
as it cleverly uses recorded gameplay that plays as a video file with triggers that allow inputs to play the video
But there’s also more work put into this than just simply being a video
as there are difficulty levels and a checkpoint system
with traversal and combat taking the form of QTE
A “health” system pops up during combat
in that if the meter drains and you aren’t fast enough at pressing the button
anyone with a hacked PS4 interested in experiencing the sequel can now do so
with the other four planned to be released later
Released in May of this year, you can read our review of Hellblade 2 on Xbox Series X|S here where we state
combat is heavily scripted and akin to a timing minigame
and you’ll have a hearty dose of yawns to go with the sounds of jaws dropping to the ground
but this is a trip that deserves to be experienced – a trip into a gorgeous but dangerous Iceland
but especially into Senua’s dark and twisted psyche.”
