The Beliansky Express train operates on weekends
The last winter season was very good for the Beliansky Express train which runs around the High Tatras between Slovakia and Poland
almost 3,000 people - predominantly Poles - used it
thus confirming that the Slovak part of the mountain range is very attractive for the country's northern neighbour
The ratio of Poles and Slovaks was estimated to be 4 to 1
jointly operated on weekends by Slovak carrier ZSSK and Polish carrier Koleje Małopolskie
connects the town of Poprad below the Slovak part of High Tatras and the Polish town of Muszyna near the border
According to ZSSK spokesperson Dominik Drevický
three times more travellers used it this winter season than in the previous
The train will return in the summer and will operate between June 14 to September 14
two times a day on weekends in both directions
The departure from Poprad is scheduled at 7:29 and 15:29 with stops Kežmarok
The train from Muszyna will depart at 10:00 and 18:00
Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes
even more tourists are expected in the summer season
He also hopes that the train could become a regular connection as there is potential
for example adding a third train in both directions
as well as better connection to regional long-distance trains
there was a petition in regards to its regular operation
one supported even by the regional municipality

data about minimum temperatures from the previous night are already available
A server http://meteoprognoza.pl published an overview about the coldest Polish places in the morning of 27
December 2021 and surprisingly – these temperatures were even lower than in Slovakia
A title of the coldest place in continental Europe
won finally Czarny Dunajec elevated around 600-700 MASL
with a minimum temperature of only -24,9°C
Tylicz reported -24,3°C; Żubracze -23,0°C; Jabłonowo -22,8°C
Komancza -22,7°C; Wysowa -22,6°C; Stuposiany -21,6°C; Wierzchowo -21,2°C; Cieszanów -21,0°C; Tomaszów Lubelski -21,0°C and Muszyna -20.6°C
and temperature below -24,0°C very probably wasn´t measured
In the last days, before Christmas, -33,3°C was measured in Switzerland, but in 1200 MASL and not a very densely populated region of Jura Alps /https://mkweather.com/amburnex-combe-switzerland-333c-the-strongest-frosts-of-winter-2021-2022-in-continental-europe-so-far//
In Serbia, in the similar elevation, -23,8°C was before the Christmas measured /https://mkweather.com/karajukica-bunari-serbia-238c-balkan-eastern-europe-and-the-baltic-regions-with-15-20c-the-next-mornings-will-be-colder//
During an early December 2021 coldwaves, the lowest temperature was measured in southeastern France, -22,0°C /https://mkweather.com/220c-in-pontets-france//
Poland is therefore a winner of the coldest Winter 2021/2022 country from European mid-latitudes / continental Europe below 1000 MASL
If frosts below -25,0°C won´t appear in January or February 2022
this record should be recognized as the coldest measurement of the winter (and will be the coldest December 2021 temperature)
January 2022 is forecast to be relatively colder
Za nami kolejna mroźna noc. Tym razem stacje zanotowały spadki poniżej -20°C: Tylicz-24.3; Żubracze -23°C; Komancza -22.7°C; Wysowa-22.6°C; Stuposiany-21.6°C; Wierzchowo -21.2°C; Cieszanów -21°C; Tomaszów Lubelski -21°C; Muszyna-20.6°C; Czarny Dunajec -24,9; Jabłonowo -22,8°C pic.twitter.com/0Rgr2TaXjr

Exceptional cold nights are expected for NE parts of Germany into Poland next three nights. Minimum temperature is forecasted to drop well below -10 °C (locally even below -15 °C) thanks to the snow coverage and clear conditions. #Winter pic.twitter.com/1ao9GWnyYP
