Polenergia decided to discontinue the project called H2 HUB Nowa Sarzyna: Green Hydrogen Storage
The Management Board of the company Polenergia S.A
(“Issuer”) informs that on 7 April 2025 it decided to discontinue the project called H2 HUB Nowa Sarzyna: Green Hydrogen Storage
for which a subsidy agreement had been entered into with the National Center for Research and Development (“NCBR“) under the New Technologies for Energy I competition (“Project”) (“Agreement” or “Subsidy Agreement”)
The subsidy agreement was entered into on 23 September 2022 by the Issuer as leader of the consortium
a subsidiary of the Issuer – Polenergia Elektrociepłownia Nowa Sarzyna sp
(“ENS”) and Wrocław University of Technology
Information on the signing of the agreement was included in the stock exchange report No
As at the date of the decision to discontinue the Project
the Project is in the second of the three phases provided for in the Agreement
Information on the commencement of phase two of the Project was provided in stock exchange report No
The current prospects for the Project’s implementation offer no chance to complete the tasks scheduled in the second phase within the specified timeframe
makes it unreasonable to continue work on the Project
include significantly longer delivery times and a limited availability of technological components required to implement the Project
the deliveries do not meet the time-schedule assumed in the contest phase
The Issuer also reports that following the a/m decision
in its capacity of the leader of the Consortium
submitted a request to the NCBR on 7 April 2025 to discontinue the Project
legal basis: Article 17(1) of the Regulation (EU) No

Siemens Energy and Polenergia signed a letter of intent pertaining to cooperation in the area of industrial application of high-efficiency cogeneration
as well as introduction of solutions that enable sustainable production and use of hydrogen
a leading producer and supplier of energy and gas technologies
decided to enter into a close cooperation for the development of modern technologies in the area of decarbonisation of the industry and the power sector
The outcome of their joint activities will be implementation of pioneer hydrogen technologies
which are viewed as technologies of the future
Both parties declare cooperation that will be focused on the Polish market that is in need of efficient solutions that curb the negative impact of business operation on the climate and the natural environment
Growing prices of electricity and emission allowances induce the energy-intensive Polish industry to search for mechanisms that could reduce the costs of electricity and thermal energy used in technological processes
with simultaneous decrease of the carbon footprint of products
Stabilisation of production deriving from the RES requires performance of modern low-emission projects based on natural gas
Flexibility of such technology will make gas installations the preferred option for increasing the installed capacity in the domestic electric energy sector in the years to come
Such solutions will also be a prelude to the introduction of pioneer hydrogen technologies
which Polenergia announced in its strategy for years 2020-2024 presented in May this year
which in the future will be used to supply our gas units,” says Michał Michalski
President of the Management Board of Polenergia
along with hydrogen storage tanks implemented in the Polish industry and on the market of Central and Eastern Europe
which would replace high-emission carbon assets
Siemens Energy focuses its activities on environmentally friendly solutions for the production of electricity
as well as in the field of energy storage technologies and hydrogen production for the needs of energetics and transport
we are building an ecosystem based on a partnership approach to joint projects on the domestic market
with shareholders whose strategy overlaps with the vision and role of the energy sector in the future
We are looking forward to cooperating with Polenergia in this respect,” summarizes Grzegorz Należyty
Studies are carried out around the world with hydrogen as their joint denominator and a carrier of energy
It may be produced in the process of electrolysis and thanks to this contribute to the reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases
Hydrogen produced in this manner may be called green only when electric energy used in the process of its production was also generated in an ecological manner
hydrogen may be stored in large quantities and for a significant amount of time
which will allow for satisfying the needs of the energy sector
According to the calculations and estimates of McKinsey & Company experts contained in the ‘Carbon-Neutral Poland 2050’
reduction of the net emission of carbon dioxide to zero by 2050
which is the deadline for meeting the goals adopted by the European Union
means that the decarbonisation of the Polish industry would have to speed up four times in the next 10 years
as compared to the pace of activities from the last 30 years
Becoming carbon-neutral will require additional investments in Poland
the value of which in the next 30 years may even reach EUR 380 billion
Potential benefits from decarbonisation will ensure energy safety by 80% drop in the import of fossil fuels
savings that result from a decrease of operational costs by EUR 75 billion
as well as development of new branches of economy that will provide almost 300,000 new jobs

Ryszard Sekulski came to Mielec in mid-1967 as a talented striker (his older brother Tadeusz Sekulski also played in the Union attack with Rajmund Kapuscinski
with unconventional dribbling and a good pass
he played a lot and hit the ball with the outside part of his foot
and many goalkeepers had problems after such unsignalled shots
not expecting that a goal could be scored from such difficult positions
he was nevertheless able to twist opponents on the left side of the pitch in such a way as to leave them behind
from which he was one of the first to go down
off the pitch he had no close contact with anyone
hardly ever coming to any events organised by the club
In his private life he was an excellent fisherman
able to come straight from the water to the club with a bucket of fish
He was very fond of cycling and did not own a car
He worked his way up the ladder with Zala from the 3rd to the 1st league
winning the Polish championship twice (1973
He is Stal’s top scorer (together with Witold Karas) in European Cups
His league appearances for Stal were 180 games – 40 goals (128 games – 21 goals in the 1st league; 17 games – 3 goals in the 2nd league; 35 games – 16 goals in the 3rd league)
In the Polish Cup: 20 games – 3 goals (4 games – 1 goal in the county); in European Cups: 10 matches – 3 goals; in the Intertoto Cup: 9 matches – 2 goals
His last game in Mielec was a match played on 28.11.1976
After leaving Stal and an episode in nearby Chemik Pustków
he was sent for a season and a half to Tarnobrzeg’s Siarki
from which he left as far away as Australia (for many years he gave no sign of life
nor did he keep in touch with his family; twice in the 1990s and in this century
where he found himself in the Melbourne-based Polish club Maribyrnong Polonia SC
One of his best matches at Stala was the duel on 16 August 1970 (just after Stala were promoted back to League 1)
in which he scored the only winning goal for Bytom Polonia
He is remembered in Mielec for his prolonged exchanges of balls with his left foot (long distance) together with coach Zientara
which sometimes allowed other Stali players to have more slack in training
In the recent memories of Adam Popowicz and Witold Karas
but not fully exploited footballing potential..
