Bartlomiej Jurecki shares the story behind his shortlisted image from the 2022 Awards
Feb 20, 2020 | Law, Society
A trial that has been described as the “biggest ever” concerning an alleged paedophile priest in Poland has begun in Nowy Targ
has been accused of sexually abusing 22 boys
concerns allegations of sexual abuse between 2003 and 2012 made by 11 of the minors
seven of whom were under the age of 15 at the time
The statute of limitations has passed in the case of the remaining 11 alleged victims
According to a statement from the Nowy Sącz district prosecutor’s office
who was ordained in the 1970s and served as a priest in various villages in the highlands of the Małopolska province
The alleged crimes usually took place on camping trips
where the priest summoned the boys to his hut and committed the abuse
Three of the men allegedly abused by Marian W
as minors have since been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder
first earned the trust of the boys’ families
according to a reportage on the case by Onet
One victim told the website: “Unfortunately
in the mountains it was instilled into kids that the priest is an authority
a person one must not say anything bad about
It’s possible that this conviction still exists
which in my case made me ambivalent in my feelings and for a long time certain that no one would believe me.”
The matter came to light in 2018 when a man informed Tarnów diocese that he had been abused by Marian W
The diocese had been informed of similar accusations five years previously
but the alleged victim did not want to go to the police
was removed from pastoral work and faced a trial in the church’s ecclesiastical court
placed under supervision and sent for treatment
The lawyer for some of the alleged victims
said that in addition to the 11 victims considered in the trial and the same number discounted due to the statute of limitations
“we have no doubt that there are more
except that there is no civic culture of speaking about it here”
Nowak added that it was difficult for victims to come forward
or even to understand what had happened to them
“A priest builds a certain relationship
In this region…the priest is an authority…and it does not occur to anyone to tell their parents,” he told RMF 24
“The priest was moved from parish to parish and went unpunished
“In my view this is the biggest paedophile trial concerning a priest
because sometimes when a case goes public…a victim realises that he is not at fault
The Polish Catholic church has recently come under fire for its alleged failures in dealing with paedophiles in its ranks
It has responded by introducing measures including a new Child Protection Office to address past failings
admitted the church “has made mistakes in the matter of paedophilia” and that clergy were now being trained to “change how they think and act” on this issue
„W centrum troski Kościoła powinna być osoba pokrzywdzona, a nie ksiądz, który dopuścił się przestępstwa. Aby wyjść z kryzysu, musimy pamiętać, że wiara to nie ideologia i polityka. Kto te rzeczy miesza, kpi z chrześcijaństwa” – mówi mi prymas Polak. https://t.co/V6NhhXCFFD
— Marcin Makowski (@makowski_m) February 15, 2020
Nowak said he welcomed moves by the church to deal with cases of paedophilia
but noted that the victims had not received an apology
“On the one hand we hear lots of platitudes saying that the church is concerned
but…these people are not cared for at all
Nobody helps them or contacts them.”
The documentary Tylko nie mów nikomu [Tell No One]
which has been watched more than 23 million times on YouTube since its premiere in May 2019
outlined a number of cases of alleged child sexual abuse by priests and the church’s attempts to cover them up
are due to release a second documentary about paedophilia in the Catholic church late this month entitled Zabawa w chowanego (Hide and Seek)
And they are already raising funds for a third

Poles from the Podhale region flocked to the US in droves
But even those who never planned to return still refuse to give up their homes
“You could always tell which houses were American,” said Józef Para
who moved back to the Podhale after living and working in the United States for over thirty years
is largely recognised today as a tourist destination
for winter holidays among the Tatra mountains
became so popular among visitors that its imitations have even been investigated
dialect and music are distinct from the rest of Poland
and represent a remarkably-preserved and centuries-old Góral culture
opting instead to immigrate to the United States
The tens of thousands of emigrants took little with them
planning to someday return back after earning a living
And the homes they deserted remain a symbol of their absence in the Podhale
and an ever-present reminder of just how many people chose to leave
which has around 2,200 residents in the off-season
The snowy paths in the distance are ski slopes
many of these homes are still owned by their original residents
The majority of these owners plan to remain in the States
who lack a strong emotional attachment to the region
This experience is not exclusive to a few people
a village outside of the city of Nowy Targ
these wooden buildings are now in a state of disrepair
As the history of this culture hangs in the balance
the homes have become a potent reminder of emigration from the Polish countryside
and a source of local controversy as people debate what to do about them
The boarded up windows of an abandoned American mansion outside of Nowy Targ
Many of these houses never had any inhabitants
The first wave of abandoned buildings preserves a way of life that no longer exists
Large families lived in continually expanding houses
which often had stables attached to the side
raising animals and planting gardens themselves
sometimes selling their harvest for a disposable income
“Money wasn’t necessary here,” said Krzystof Szewczyk
who owns a bed and breakfast in the village of Białka Tatrzańska
“it was something extra.” These generations grew their own food
and bartered with neighbours if something was lacking
Many of the houses I saw had underground storage space
where the gazdy – as these landowners are called in the local dialect – kept potatoes
preserves and other foodstuffs to last them through the harsh mountain winters
and Szewczyk himself raises chickens and goats for milk
Even the construction of these buildings is tied to the land they come from
At the base of many of these houses are large
But the history of the land remains woven into these buildings
from the local wood that was used to build the outer walls
shaped by waters flowing from the Tatra mountains
Many of the rooftops are rusty and overgrown with moss
their sinking foundations slowly returning to the earth that they once came from
an English teacher raised in the village of Szaflary
had a personal connection to many of the houses that I photographed
Others he identified as the site of family arguments
as members disagreed about what to do with the houses they grew up in
“I remember when this house was being built,” he says as we pass an eight-room wooden mansion originally belonging to his cousin
Though he lives only about fifteen minutes away
who has now lived in the US for over two decades
It is impossible to enter any of the houses we pass
Although some have broken windows and graffiti
either out of shared respect or sheer difficulty
The stairways leading to them are often dangerous
as many of the wooden steps have fallen in on each other
The only signs of life are a few scattered beer bottles
left on the outside of what was once a stable
“I wouldn’t like to live here,” says Dziadkowiec as we drive through Gronków
and is blocked off during the wintertime for fear of accidents on the ice
a neighbour’s guard dogs chased us off the premises
Two abandoned houses next to each other in the village of Szaflary
Both of their owners have since left for the United States
Though they may be commonplace for those living in the region
some have started to view the abandonment of these houses as a particularly local phenomenon that needs to be addressed
aimed to document the clear and unique presence of America in the Podhale
and the void left behind in the empty homes of emigrants
She remembers economic emigration to the States as an “everyday occurrence”
Even if a family did not make the move themselves
which we associated with the smell of bubblegum
or shiny new gym shoes someone had sent us,” she said
When asked what is the most important aspect of her photography project
titled “This is All America,” Dogołowka answered simply
from which all of these buildings were formed
Some houses have been preserved as historical sites
including the museum of Tatra Folk Culture in Jurgów
But some homeowners are reluctant to apply for historical site funding
for fear that their homes will no longer be practical
One of two main churches in Białka Tatrzańska
is only open to parishioners in the summer
Local laws prohibit the installation of modern heating or ventilation systems
and the sites must remain exactly as they were
Traditional pants worn to this day for special occasions in the Podhale and in its neighboring Slovak region
This particular pair was on display at the Museum of Tatra Folk Culture in Jurgów
A second generation of homes was built with American dollars
sent back by emigrantsworking in the United States
A 2013 report from the Agricultural University of Kraków estimated that
in the villages of Czarny Dunajec and Poronin
one fifth of economic migrants invested in apartments or built a house
Mansions from the 1970s with up to ten rooms and traditional wooden houses built before the Second World War have little in common with one another
and Property Relations in Highland Poland”
Francis Pine described a pattern of inheritance among Górale which reinforces the constant need to emigrate
inheritances are equally divided among all children
resulting in what she calls “constant insecurity”
As the land is further and further divided
forcing its former residents to leave it behind and start from scratch
Górale have to leave their homes,” she wrote
Her sentiment is reflected in the traditional music
much of which has to do with the longing that comes with leaving one’s home
what will become of them?” The preservation of Góral identity not only concerns the question of what to do with historical artifacts themselves
but with the shared cultural history of loss
The broken windows of an abandoned building in Szaflary
where Dziadkowiec once had Sunday school classes
then everyone would have left a long time ago,” said Szewczyk
who runs a bed and breakfast in Białka Tatrzańska with his wife
The village has only 2,200 residents but has recently become a popular destination for skiers
Across the street from their business are large hotels
many of them equipped with saunas and spas
But this new construction cannot hide the fact that the culture so many tourists come to visit is disappearing
“There’s an entire street in front of us full of empty houses,” said Monika Szewczyk
scattered along the backdrop of the mountains
people who have come back from the United States to their family homes in the Podhale
Bronisława Para and her husband Józef returned to Poland after thirty-three years in Chicago
leaving behind their three adult children and numerous grandchildren
After working for years in factories and as a mechanic
Józef Para and his wife became disenchanted with the American mythos that was once presented to them
because I slept while working the machines
I barely had time to rest at home,” he said
reflecting on the time he spent in the States
One of several ski lifts in Białka Tatrzańska
one of the region’s major tourist attractions
though economically necessary for the region
remains more controversial among some of its residents
“A city with such a rich culture has now turned into a tourist trap full of plastic souvenirs,” said photographer Natalia Dogołowska about Zakopane
Krzysztof Szewczyk also owns his grandparents’ home in the nearby village of Leśnica
He admits that he has a sentimental attachment to the home
but does not remember the last time he went inside
Older generations do not want to see the homes where they raised their families torn down
especially in small towns where they will not sell for much
where they may see a hotel put up in its stead
Podhalan folk culture and tradition remain remarkably well-preserved
especially in comparison to many other regions in Poland
and mass movement abroad are threatening its future
we drive about twenty minutes from his bed and breakfast to the family home he still owns
and wooden banners on the inner walls of each room are engraved with the year in which they were built
His grandparents’ bedroom is falling apart
with uneven boards sticking out of the floor
and walls bordered with cobwebs and settled dust
Though people tend to stay out of these abandoned buildings
animals make their way in through cracks in the foundations
and their scratches and droppings remain after they leave
the house recalls a time that passed not so long ago
emigrants and visitors continue to try and hold on to
A reminder that part of them still remains in the lands where they come from

Ombudsman rules that hospital in Nowy Targ failed to tell Dorota Lalik
that her life was in danger and could be saved by an abortion
after reports reached the media of a pregnant woman’s death in a hospital in May
On Monday, Poland’s patients’ rights ombudsman, Bartłomiej Chmielowiec, said that the John Paul II hospital should have told 33-year-old Dorota Lalik that her life could be saved through an abortion
The hospital violated her rights by withholding the information
The woman died in the hospital in Nowy Targ
“No one told us that we had practically no chance for a healthy baby … The entire time they were giving us false hope that everything will be OK … that [in the worst case] the child will be premature,” Lalik’s husband told Polish media
“No one gave us the choice or the chance to save Dorota
because no one told us her life was at risk.”
In 2021, a 30-year-old identified as Izabela died in the southern town of Pszczyna in similar circumstances after being denied an abortion, sparking protests and drawing attention to the way a 2020 ruling affects pregnancies with complications
Abortion continues to be legal in Poland if the pregnancy poses a risk to the health or life to the pregnant person, or is a result of a crime such as rape or incest. However, in 2020, Poland’s constitutional tribunal judged as unconstitutional abortion due to foetal abnormalities
This ruling has had a “freezing effect” on Polish doctors
the lawyer representing the families of Lalik and Izabela
“This is another hospital death caused by the decision of doctors to deny access to a legal abortion
We again saw the doctors lie and deceive the family and wait passively as the patient died of sepsis,” she said
“The anti-abortion legislation in Poland is very restrictive,” Lempart added
“But doctors are denying access to abortions that are legal
Their interpretation of the law is stricter than the government’s.”
The Polish ministry of health has responded to Lalik’s death by asking “a team of experts … [to] issue more detailed standards” for obstetricians
“In Poland every woman whose health and life is in danger has the right to terminate her pregnancy
“Health does not only mean physical health
Lempart said: “It is difficult to say that this situation is just the fault of the government when doctors are refusing to perform abortions permitted by the law in cases when not only the health is endangered but even life.”
In 2005, the then-director of the hospital in which Lalik died reportedly announced that the hospital would not perform any abortion as the procedure contradicted “God’s law and the pope’s teaching”
No abortion has taken place at the hospital since at least 2018
the Polish media outlet Gazeta Wyborcza reported
is a local councillor of the rightwing Sovereign Poland party
which has been described as “Catholic-nationalist” and supports a ban on abortion
View image in fullscreenPeople take part in a vigil for Lalik
Photograph: Anna Liminowicz/The GuardianThe hospital has denied that either Wierzba’s political allegiance or the papal patronage contributed to Lalik’s death
“Since the protests in 2020 everybody in Poland knows the number to Abortion Without Borders [an organisation that provides abortion pills],” Lempart said
“But not everyone realised that if you’re pregnant and you go to a Polish hospital you might not leave alive
That you have to go prepared; you need to have a number to a lawyer and contacts with the media ready
and you have to keep fighting and arguing and not believe a single word anyone says because you might not stay alive
We want to raise the alarm: if you are pregnant this could happen to you
if you’re not prepared to fight for your life.”
Tesla has announced the winners of its Spring 2023 Supercharger location expansion
a decision made through a democratic process involving votes from Tesla owners
The company took to social media to thank everyone who participated in the voting process and revealed the chosen locations in a series of tweets
the winning locations for new Superchargers are Gatineau in Quebec
and four spots in the United States: Brick Township
Tesla owners in Poland can look forward to three new Supercharger locations in Radomsko
South Korea is set to have five new Supercharger locations: Yeongdeok-gun
Tesla decided to add three bonus locations for its global customers
USA; Bergerac in France; and Bangor in the United Kingdom are all slated to host new Superchargers
Announcing our Spring 2023 Supercharger location winners—thank you to everyone who voted 🏆https://t.co/pPPqbpSkCA
— Tesla Charging (@TeslaCharging) July 12, 2023
The next round of Supercharger voting is now available.
Tesla owners have the opportunity to vote on the company’s next Supercharger locations. This occurs every three months in a voting cycle, during which Tesla drivers can cast multiple votes for their preferred future Supercharger sites. The leaderboard is updated frequently to show the most popular proposed locations.
By voting, Tesla owners agree that the company may contact them regarding Supercharging developments.
Last quarter’s winner, chosen by Tesla owners, was Radomsko in Poland. The site received a hefty 7,692 votes and will be one of the upcoming locations for a new Supercharger.
Additionally, if any property owners are interested in hosting a Supercharger at their location to generate more business, they can apply to Tesla to become a host.
This unique voting system allows Tesla to make data-driven decisions about where to place Superchargers based on the needs and preferences of their owners, contributing to the company’s customer-centric approach. But the company already likely knows from its fleet data which Superchargers and areas have the most need for new locations.

It was noon in early 1942 as Johann Grüner approached the ‘German House’ in the Polish town of Nowy Targ for lunch
As a mid-level Nazi bureaucrat in occupied Poland
he enjoyed the privileges of power and the opportunity for career advancement that came with duty in the East
was one of the privileges enjoyed by the occupiers
he could hear a boisterous celebration within
a clearly inebriated Gestapo official passed by
a beer coaster with the number 1,000 written in red pinned to his blouse
today I am celebrating my 1,000th execution!’
the incident at the German House might appear to be a grotesque aberration involving a single depraved Nazi killer
such ‘celebrations’ were widespread in the occupied Eastern territories as members of the notorious Schutzstaffel (SS) and the German police routinely engaged in celebratory rituals after mass killings
heavy drinking was common at the killing sites
in pubs and on bases throughout Poland and the Soviet Union
a group of policemen charged with the cremation of some 800 Jewish corpses used the occasion to tap a keg
had the ‘honour’ of setting fire to ‘his Jews’ as he and his colleagues sat around the fire drinking beer
a Jewish woman recalled the aftermath of a killing operation at Przemyśl in Poland: ‘I smelled the odour of burning bodies and saw a group of Gestapo men who sat by the fire
singing and drinking.’ For these Gestapo men
‘victory celebrations’ proved to be the order of the day
and followed every killing action or ‘liberation from the Jews’
The role of alcohol in the Nazi genocide of European Jews deserves greater attention
While numerous studies from the social sciences have demonstrated the link between drinking and acts of homicide and sexual violence
the connection between mass murder and alcohol is under-researched
alcohol served several roles: it incentivised and rewarded murder
promoted disinhibition to facilitate killing
explanations of perpetrator motivation embrace a variety of instrumental and affective factors ranging from ‘ordinary men’ guided by peer pressure
obedience to authority and personal ambition
to ‘willing executioners’ imbued with anti-Semitism and racial hatred; however
alcohol consumption facilitated acts of murder and atrocity whether by ordinary men or true believers
In the early 2000s, Father Patrick Desbois used ‘ballistic research’ to find spent firearm cartridges in order to chart where SS and police death squads had massacred entire Jewish communities in Ukraine. Contrary to popular belief, he found that many of these killing sites were ‘in the middle of towns
in full view and with the knowledge of everyone’
Not only were these massacres conducted in public spaces
but non-Jewish Ukrainian witnesses often remembered the killers’ use of alcohol
Hanna Senikova observed a mass execution by the SS and policemen in her hometown of Romanivka
her aunt had been forced to cook for the perpetrators who ordered a banquet in advance of the massacre
Interviewed by Desbois in his book The Holocaust by Bullets (2008)
participated in a two-week massacre of an estimated 15,000 Jews
Westerheide and his accomplices ‘caroused at a banquet table with a few German women … drinking
while music played in the background during a surreal killing party described by Wendy Lower in Hitler’s Furies (2013)
the perpetrators’ use of alcohol provided a means for establishing camaraderie and lowering inhibitions as they proceeded with their gruesome task
While death squads celebrated among their victims’ graves in the field
local bars and restaurants also served as sites for celebrating acts of mass murder
where heavy drinking was often accompanied by songs that emphasised Nazi masculine ideals of hardness
one witness overheard a group of SS men ‘who had obviously just come from a shooting’ discussing how ‘The damned brains [of the victims] just squirted everywhere.’ Similarly
then a 17-year-old Polish girl working at a restaurant in Zakrzewo
testified that SS men routinely gathered there to drink beer and schnapps
and to celebrate after mass killings in the fall of 1939
singing and drinking were ritual acts of celebration
and served as mechanisms for promoting male bonding and identification with the group and its genocidal charter
After their transfer to Warsaw in January 1942
members of Police Battalion 61 established a bar outside the Jewish ghetto
The ‘Krochmalna’ bar not only provided a place for off-duty policemen to engage in ‘drinking orgies’
but also as a site of celebration and male competition with respect to murder
Individual policemen competed for number of Jews killed and bragged about their ‘scores’
These policemen were not alone as the men from other units also kept track of their kills
A former policeman with Police Battalion 9 testified after the war: ‘I also know that several [men] kept exact count of the number of people they had shot
They also bragged amongst themselves about the numbers.’ In the case of Police Battalion 61
the bar’s front door served as the unit’s tally board
with an estimated 500 notches arrayed in groups of five
designating the number of Jews murdered by its patrons
During a postwar investigation of the unit’s activities in Warsaw
one state prosecutor commented that ‘victory celebrations’ were a customary part of the unit’s ritual after mass executions
Another female witness described the distribution of the plundered possessions of the victims and the nightly celebrations: ‘The men sang
the women changed dresses three times in an evening
it was drunken revelling every day.’ At least for these men and some women
the killing field and the bar became sites for group socialisation and celebration in the wake of mass murder
While intoxication was not a prerequisite for genocide
it is clear that alcohol and drinking rituals were an important element in the celebration of genocidal massacre in the Nazi East – whether taken in shots from a table laden with smoked sausage and vodka
swilled from a bottle at the edge of a ditch
or consumed in post-execution beer parties
The SS man celebrating his 1,000th killing was not only intoxicated at his party
but in a real sense drunk with the act of murder itself

It took more than 24 hours for the Macias family to travel from Nowy Targ
Poland to Prince Albert but they are enjoying every second in Canada
Agnieszka and Marcin Macias are the parents of Prince Albert Raiders forward Krzysztof Macias
They arrived in Canada late last week and have been in attendance for the last three Raider games
Krzysztof’s mother Agnieszka says they have appreciated the warm reception they have received in Prince Albert
“I want to thank everyone because everyone is so hospitable here
It’s really nice and this is what I read about Canada and Canadians on the internet
When it comes to hockey it’s really fast
It’s much faster than we have in Poland
But it’s just incredible and it’s nice to watch it.”
Krzysztof Macias has made an immediate impact in the WHL since being selected by the Prince Albert Raiders 15th overall in the 2023 CHL Import Draft
Macias has recorded 16 goals and 10 assists
Macias currently sits in a three-way tie for fifth amongst all WHL rookies in goals
He also sits second in scoring amongst WHL import rookies as only Everett’s Julius Miettinen (Helsinki
Krzysztof says he has enjoyed having his family in Prince Albert
because they will be able to see for themselves what he has described via text messages and phone calls
“That’s going to be very special to me—not only hockey-wise
but life-wise—to see my parents here in Canada
It was like separate worlds back in Europe and here in Canada
so now it’s going to go together and I’m going to be able to see my family for two weeks straight and they’re going to see how it works here
I’m not going to have to describe to them what I’m doing because they’re going to know
they’re going to see what’s going on here
really helpful and I am so excited to see them soon and I hope they will enjoy me staying here.”
Macias is no stranger to playing hockey in a foreign country
The 19-year-old played five years in Czechia for both HC Poruba and HV Vitkovice starting in the 2017-18 season
Agnieszka says she was ecstatic when she heard the news that Krzysztof would get the opportunity to play in North America
we always repeated to him that he must be better than Czech players
When we learned that somebody wanted him here in Canada
Macias passed Marcin Kolusz for most points in the WHL by a Polish-born player when he picked up an assist on an Oli Chenier goal in Moose Jaw back on Jan
Having a successful season so far and helping a Raiders team in the middle of a playoff chase in the WHL’s Eastern Conference
Krzysztof says he is hopeful that his performance in the WHL ranks opens the door for more Polish born players moving forward
“I would love to see more Polish hockey players to play here and develop here
It’s going to be hard because we’re not so well known like Czechia or other European states
I think the Polish national team is doing a good job too
We’re playing in the top division this year in the World Championship
they will put Poland on the hockey map and it’s only going to go up with Polish hockey.”
Time zones have provided a challenge for the Macias family
With Nowy Targ being seven hours ahead of Saskatchewan Time
they are no strangers to watching Krzysztof in the wee hours of the morning
Agnieszka says she questioned the start time of the games at first
but has gotten used to the early alarm to watch her son play
even my teammates wake up in the middle of the night and watch him
The Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert is known across the WHL for having one of the most intimidating atmospheres
despite the building only holding 3,366 fans with standing room
one of the lowest capacities in the league
Agnieszka says they have enjoyed witnessing the Raiders play live in person because of the energy the fans in Hockeytown North bring to the experience
Many people are complaining that it’s a bit old
I was shown around by some people from the club
The ice itself is much smaller than in Poland
Maybe not surprising because I had known about it earlier
In the three games the Macias family have witnessed in person so far
the Raiders have gone 2-1 including a pair of wins at the Art Hauser Centre against the Medicine Hat Tigers and Lethbridge Hurricanes
Agnieszka says there is one more thing she is hoping for before their trip to Canada concludes
A goal for mommy as I used to say always so I’m still waiting for that.”
Krzysztof Macias is the first Raider billet they’ve welcomed into their home
Rob and Terrie Lindsay have been involved with the Raiders in other means for many years
Terrie has been involved previously in the box office
ticket collection and team store amongst other duties in recent years while Rob has served as the team’s long time public address announcer at the Art Hauser Centre
“We’re both very heavily involved and this year we decided to take the challenge and have a billet come stay with us.” Rob Lindsay says
“We were so lucky to get the young lad from Nowy Targ
Krzysztof didn’t waste any time in getting his billet dad to announce his name in the WHL
Macias deposited his first North American goal in the third period of a 5-0 Raider win over the Moose Jaw Warriors back on September 22
Lindsay says it was a special moment to announce the goal of a billet son for the first time
The two families are in constant communication thanks to technology
Agnieszka is an English teacher in Poland teaching students primarily between the ages of 15 to 19
Lindsay says not having the language barrier has made it very easy to have conversations via messages or voice calls
There are times when I’m working overnight
Despite first meeting the Lindsay family in person just last week
Agnieszka says she feels a close connection with them because of what they have done for her son in Prince Albert
“It’s awesome and it’s something I must mention that I feel really close to them
Terrie was laughing that Krzysztof often compares her to me
I’m really thankful to them because they treat our son like their own one.”
Krzysztof says he has enjoyed his time in Prince Albert with the Lindsay family and hopes to stay in touch with them long after his junior hockey career comes to a close
I’m very grateful that I could be billeted there
because they are helping me every time I need it
They are there for me every time I need them
so I’m very glad I came to that place
and I hope my relationship with them is going to last a very
