the whole business with the necklace made it plain why Celica chose her words so carefully when she contacted Glenn at the end of last episode
I figured that coming before the Queen so he could use his Fool's World spell would play into this somehow
His power prevented the necklace from detonating
Albert and Re=L prove to not be enemies after all
and while I didn't expect them to be quite so chummy
(Glenn is definitely going to have his hands full when Re=L joins his class
presumably as undercover protection for Rumia
if the opener is anything to go by.) The one big reveal is that Glenn isn't the only one connected to a Tarot card among the royal special forces
The scheme of trading places with Albert and Re=L was also clever (if hardly original); I suspected something was up with the second “what Glenn would say” comment
The scene toward the end where Rumia and Glenn reminisce over the time that he rescued her three years ago was also neat
though it raises the question about whether or not that incident led to her being cast off as dead
it just didn't feel like this plot came together in dynamic fashion for some reason
Maybe the pacing was a little too slow or the shot selection wasn't that sharp
this episode should have more punch than it did
and that's without bringing up the tired joke at the end about how Glenn can't get ahead even when he wins
the series is starting to build an intriguing story
and now I'm actually looking forward to more

Moving To Singapore? Essential Guide - Expat Living in Singapore
Moving to Singapore - learn about neighbourhoods
We help make the most of expat living in Singapore
https://expatliving.sg/jalan-rumia-house-chip-bee-holland-village-mrt-circle-line/
the chief scientific officer at Hummingbird Bioscience and Amber Mizerak
a media advisor to the US Embassy in Singapore
share with us why they are loving living in Jalan Rumia
part of Chip Bee Gardens in Holland Village
“Jalan” means road and “Rumia” is a type of tree that apparently produces a sweet to sour fruit that has a faint smell of turpentine
What’s a common myth or misconception about your neighbourhood
but our neighbours on both sides are Singaporean so there is a nice mix
Exact words you tell a taxi driver to get home
you may end up on the other side of town…)
We’ve lived in Chip Bee Gardens for three years out of the nearly seven years we’ve been in Singapore
we lived in Bugis in a remodelled shophouse
I convinced Jerome to move to Holland Village before COVID and we love it
I wrapped up a terrible job in relocation (not my calling!) and I was willing to go almost anywhere in the world
Jerome and his business partner were able to move their biotech company
Sometimes the occasional hornbill or yellow crested cockatoo
What’s the closest store to your front door
though not great “talkability” inside; you can’t hear a thing
If your Jalan Rumia was chosen for a remake of a film
I did see a dinosaur being filmed walking down the street next to a person with a TV for a head
so looks like this street is already famous
but is there anything you wouldn’t mind a little less of
They help water the plants if we are away and their cat likes to chill in our front yard
there are other neighbours who tend to burn a very smoky incense around sunset every day
We’ve compromised and they agreed not to do it a few days a week when we are working out outside
What’s the unofficial uniform of your Jalan Rumia
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen in Chip Bee Gardens
wild things still happen on the mean streets of Jalan Rumia
the other day a whole flock of hornbills made their way down the street
What are your three favourite places to eat or drink near Chip Bee Gardens
Two Men Bagel House used to have the best coffee
but we returned from Christmas break to find they have shut down and the space is turning into a vegan restaurant so that is disappointing
and Kamo Soba Keisuke has tasty ramen and a nice Japanese vibe
What are the best places to shop at in Holland Village
but we pop over to Cold Storage if we need anything – and recently a FairPrice Finest opened where Taste used to be
so that’s more functional with more useful items
which is convenient for little things for baking or for cheese
What are some fun or interesting things to do in Holland Village
Walking around the rich area nearby is fun
You can make it quite far weaving through the mansion-filled streets
in our back garden for sound healing sessions monthly
Chip Bee Gardens has such a good neighbourhood vibe so friends pop over regularly for barbecues
And sometimes you can find me wheeling and dealing free stuff around the neighbourhood like Steptoe and Sons
Jerome gets annoyed when I accumulate additional free stuff
I love the greenery and that we are close enough to shops
I am a little nervous about the large buildings going up in Holland Village and how that may change the ambience and the cost of living
I’d opt for the high-pitched pandemic dog to stop barking from the condo across the street
If the city gave you a million dollars to soup up your street
and knock down The Merasaga condo so I can see sunset and solve that dog-barking problem
that’s probably more like a 20 million dollar endeavour
What are your favourite Singapore spots for taking out-of-town guests
We like the view from the restaurants at Mount Faber
We also earned our boat licence during the pandemic so we can take friends out on the water
Underwater; we like to scuba dive once a month with Marlin Divers to Pulau Hantu
It’s a family-run business and great with small groups
We also like The Projector for weird and wonderful films

At least this time we get an inkling as to why the Researchers want Rumia so badly
which has always been left vague in the past
The episode ends before revealing any specifics
but what is said during the class tour of the alchemy research facility
combined with a reference to the Amplifier at the end of last episode
strongly suggests that Rumia's peculiar magical trait – which got her exiled from being a princess via fake death – is a necessary component in a forbidden form of magic that can effectively clone a dead person
Rumia's reaction indicates that she has probably pieced this together too
then the looming question is who the Researchers of Divine Wisdom are so keen to clone
The mage responsible for the floating castle
The later revelation that she's actually a convert from the Researchers adds an additional but unsurprising twist to the situation
allowing a way for her to be turned back and convinced to skewer Glenn and kidnap Rukia
this time other characters – most notably Albert – get in on the action with some impressive results
I also don't have a problem with Sisti being trigger-shy; after all
and firing on someone she regarded as a friend is bound to be troubling
this is all falling into a fairly standard anime pattern
so while this episode is fairly well-done overall

Spectacles is pursuing some goal in a roundabout way
we still can't rule out Rumia eventually being in danger
All indications are that this is Sistine's arc instead though
since she's the one in a bind by the end of the episode
and because of that we may not even see a return to whatever Elanor's up to before the season ends
because this week's plot is plenty interesting enough
the class duel set up at the end of last episode is resolved in a draw before the halfway point
so much to Leos's consternation that he challenges Glenn to a one-on-one duel
perhaps in part because Glenn isn't acting like her dream image of him
she confronts Glenn about it rather than letting the issue linger for multiple episodes – a welcome change of pace for this kind of series
Glenn's revelation of the truth probably won't be surprising
but he also got so upset by Leos trying to shut down Sistine's dream (which he respects
since by implication his own dream has become tarnished) that he reacted without thinking
The conversation they have on the wall is one of the series' best interpersonal scenes
and I was glad to see his reasons come down to more than just “I'm doing it because you're my student” logic
which Sistine doesn't buy when Glenn tries to laugh the whole thing off that way
though his ambition doesn't seem to be anything as grandiose or overtly illegal as I expected
Wedding Sistine is all part of a family power play for him
so he's not so much a criminal as just a bastard
and ready to blackmail Sistine into cooperating by threatening to reveal Rumia and Re=L's identities
That leaves things in a grim state of affairs at the end of the episode
a situation promoted very effectively by the ominous musical score
What all of this has to do with Angel's Dust – which we see come up in another scene – is still yet to be made clear
The cheap angle would be to drop that plot at Leos's doorstep
and I hope they don't because his wickedness of using Sistine as a tool is plenty sufficient to villainize him
I'm also very curious to see how this story will play out
The most reasonable expectation would be for Glenn to disrupt Sistine's wedding to Leos
but this series has shown at least some capacity to strive higher
this has been an unexpectedly enjoyable series so far
and I don't see that changing with the finale
spoiled the surprise of the big twist concerning her
which (unsurprisingly) also bore a similarity to Re-L's arc in her series
I do want to stress that my complaints are about the series failing to impress at this point rather than outright failing
with the details about Re=L's past coming out in an unobtrusive way
and the arc ends with a solid link to future developments for a change
via the completed spell data that Elanor has obtained
The all-too-common “I'll hold this guy off while you go on” routine played out in more sensible fashion
with Glenn actually having to maneuver around the baddie under Albert's distraction rather than the foe just letting him pass
Sistine's scene where she discourages the others from trying to get involved was also handled better than normal
Re=L's “sisters” were not a fearsome threat
and it was satisfying to see Re=L dispatch them herself
Allowing Albert and Glenn to get through their fights with relative ease was also welcome; having them dominate all the time would become boring
but they should be able to use their skills as trained operatives to breeze through lesser opponents
for this episode not doing anything that impressive
The face-to-face meeting between the Queen and Rumia was every bit as sticky a reunion as it should have been
The Queen reinforces the impression she gave us last episode
that Princess Ermiana being cast out and passed off as dead was more an act of necessity than anything she wanted to do
as she's clearly quite happy to see that Rumia is doing well
(Whether she actually believed that Ermiana's special nature made her toxic to the royal family is not made clear.) However
even though Rumia understands why it had to be done
she's still bitter and conflicted about the incident
It was no exaggeration in the previous episode when she said that she regards Sistine's parents as her own;she even goes as far as telling Glenn that she sees accepting her real mother as a dishonor to her current parents
Even discounting what happened three years ago
the Queen's behavior is at least partly to blame for Rumia's internal conflict
Putting her copy of the locket back on for meeting Rumia would have been a powerful symbolic gesture
so much so that Rumia interprets her not doing it as an additional rejection
The scene where she hashes out her feelings with Glenn is a great follow-up
the kind of thing that anime series often don't take the time to do right
there are two newer characters to bring into the picture
They're apparently former coworkers of Glenn who are none too happy that he left the assassination biz
her keen desire to attack Glenn could just be part of her personality rather than any specifically intense hatred for his betrayal.) However
despite the girl of the two attacking Glenn at the end of the episode
their words suggest that they aren't necessarily his enemies; they're still loyal to the Queen and distrustful of her Royal Guard – and with good reason
– so they could probably become grudging allies after a brief skirmish
At this point, this series is starting to remind me of A Certain Magical Index 2
with all sorts of deadly shenanigans going on in the background of what basically passes for a sports festival
despite a bit of goofiness at the beginning
that includes Sistine taking some cues from Mikoto Mikasa
I'd rather not see Sistine's attitude towards Glenn slide past mere appreciation
but there already seem to be signs of romantic feelings blossoming
the series has a very solid arc going right now

tells us about the connection between soil
rain and the climate is especially important for a grass-based economy like Ireland's
and this has remained constant through the time that I have been here
I used to get upset during the rainy season in India and could never romanticise rain as against what is shown in movies around the world
that made me fall in love with the rains here is the rainbow that appears after
I have probably seen more rainbows in the past three years than in my entire life
how many of us care to look at the soil beneath
Did you know that soil is regarded as one of the essential climate variables that can provide information about our past and future climate
The connection between soils and rains is especially important for a grass-based economy like Ireland's
Depending on the amount of rain and the specific characteristics of soil
the moisture content of soil changes and this can directly affect the health of a crop
Information on soil moisture is crucial for crop management and overall planning
This is not just true for Ireland but anywhere around the world
since soil moisture drives the need for interventions like irrigation scheduling
Information on soil moisture can be obtained through various ways
soil moisture would be measured by collecting samples from the field and then taking measurements in the lab
Such methods are time consuming and makes sampling of large geographic areas extremely difficult
This is where remote sensing technology has proved to be very handy and effective
Satellites that revolve around the earth can provide us with information that would otherwise be very difficult to acquire
Imagine a field on a hill slope and having to sample the field on a very wet day in Ireland or on a very humid day in the tropics
Satellites help cover large geographic areas simultaneously and are also cost-effective
Free satellite imagery helps PhD students like me carry out research seamlessly
bringing to the forefront important issues and their possible solutions
Soil moisture is one such variable that can be studied through remote sensing. The Sentinel suite of sensors launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) have been very instrumental in this regard
The Sentinel suite of Sensors provide optical and radar imagery in high spatial and temporal resolutions
This means you can look at your field every three to five days and notice any changes in soil moisture taking place from the comfort of your living room
Remote sensing data can help measure changes in soil moisture over time and this
when combined with in situ data and other meteorological data such as rainfall
can help us in knowing about its past and future trends
These trends provide important insights about changes in local and global climate
Since cloud cover is a major problem in Ireland, it limits the use of optical imagery at times, since optical sensors, like Sentinel 2, cannot penetrate through clouds. However, radar data, like Sentinel 1
can be very useful in such situations since it can see through clouds and can operate even at night
There are numerous such optical and radar satellites that make imagery available free of cost for research purposes and have since been instrumental in answering important questions about our surroundings
Soil moisture can be monitored effectively using both optical and radar data or a combination of the two. Predictions about soil moisture can help farmers take effective decisions about farm management strategies and achieve higher productivity
apart from appreciating the lovely flowers around or that bumble bee on your lavender bush
and know what you are holding carries secrets from the past

A good chunk of this episode involves Re=L getting accustomed to school life, with Rumia and Sistine as her guides and friends. This plays out against a backdrop of ordinary magic school activities, such as magical target practice and a field trip to an island for study at an alchemy facility. The latter conveniently gets used to up a fanservice quotient that's been surprisingly lax for the last few episodes
as all the girls don sexy yet tasteful swimsuits
Glenn even plays this off as the whole point of the field trip – which naturally makes him a god amongst the male students
although Rumia suspects this is his way of keeping the class distanced from military magic as much as possible
It looks like the Researchers of Divine Wisdom have other ideas about that
as Evil Maid shows up again to imply some dastardly scheme in the works at the end
but that's entirely divorced from all the more ordinary activities and frivolity
I'm not convinced that putting so much storytelling weight on Re=L was a good idea
since she comes across as a stock archetype: the petite combat-focused girl with a one-track mind and social awkwardness ripe to mine for comedy
The writing drops hints that there's some issue with her brother in the past
vaguely suggesting that she might have transferred emotions toward her brother over to Glenn
and there are hints of possibly bigger issues too
Albert's caution to Glenn about Re=L being “dangerous” and her emotional near-meltdown near the end of the episode are cause for concern
That at least gives some hope that the story will move in an interesting direction in her case
the series has shown some ability to step beyond its base elements
but that's going to be more difficult for this character
the execution in this episode is paint-by-numbers
The male protagonist rallies the horny boys while the girls look on with disgust (while disguising what may be purer motives)
There's even an opening training session framed as something vastly more sexual
the writing is in danger of making Glenn too much of a typical good guy
as if it's decided to set aside the “bastard” part of the title
but that doesn't mean he can't be a little more of an ass in the process
A professional arm wrestler from Abercarn has won a bronze medal at the International Federation of Armwrestling (IFA) World Championships in Rumia
finished third in the super heavyweight masters category at the tournament
which took place between December 2 and December 6
Known as “The Welsh Wolverine”
“No one from Wales has ever won a medal at this competition – I’m the first person from Wales to be at the world championships.”
The 43-year-old qualified for the tournament by winning a British Professional Armwrestling title in August 2018
But Bolt admitted that taking up the sport was something he never saw himself doing
Bolt did a lot of athletics before moving onto powerlifting
He said he sees it as a “natural progression”
was one of five members of the UK team at the competition
Bolt was able to fund the trip to Poland with sponsorship from Direct Healthcare Group
which is based in Western Industrial Estate
