On 14 November based on the results of research carried out at the National Veterinary Institute - National Research Institute in Puławy, the occurrence of the first case of ASF in wild boars in the Wschowa poviat, in the Lubuskie poviat, was confirmed. Two further cases were confirmed in the counties of Wschowa and Novosol, and in the Lubuskie voivodship in the Nowosolski poviat over the following four days. The cases were confirmed by the Polish chief veterinary officer who said the incidents were a reminder of the need to comply with the biosecurity rules by persons operating pigs in order to avoid the potential possibility of transferring the disease from the natural environment to the farm. Biosecurity measures are carried out by the competent authorities of the Veterinary Inspection and the Voivodship Crisis Management Center (WCZK).
