Note: This continues a series of 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES team previews on INDYCAR.com March 2 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding (noon ET 2024 in Review: The team had a decidedly different look with Romain Grosjean and Agustin Canapino the full-time drivers for the first half of the season Grosjean started strong by reaching the Firestone Fast Six qualifying round and starting fifth in the Firestone Grand Prix of St Grosjean finished eighth in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach The best stretch of his season came in June when he finished seventh in the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America and was fourth in the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca He ended the season in 17th place in the standings Canapino’s second season with the team featured starts in the first 12 races highlighted by a 12th-place finish in the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear Daly took Canapino’s seat for the final five races of the season Daly finished third in the first Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250 and was 10th in the season-ending Big Machine Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway Those results helped Juncos Hollinger Racing secure a valuable Leader’s Circle position for 2025 Daly’s other two races were the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge where he drove Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s Chevrolet to a 10th-place finish and replacing the injured Jack Harvey (neck) in Dale Coyne Racing’s No 18 Honda for the Hy-Vee One Step 250 presented by Gatorade Robb’s second season in the series was with AJ Foyt Racing highlighted by a 16th-place finish in the “500” as he led the first 23 laps of his career in the event Robb also led eight laps and finished a career-best ninth in the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway New for ’25: Robb stepping into the No 77 Chevrolet and Daly going full time in the No 78 entry gives the Indianapolis-based organization a new look for this season Keep an Eye on This: Daly desperately wanted another full-time opportunity in the series and declined an Indy-only opportunity to get this one it will be Daly’s only second year with the same team for all the races since 2017 Daly has received significant praise in recent years for his prowess on oval tracks and that’s deserved based on strong drives at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the short tracks and his best career series finish is a second in a 2016 race on the Belle Isle circuit in Detroit Little-Known Fact: Daly and Robb combined to lead nearly a quarter of last year’s “500,” albeit with teams other than their current employer Daly first got to the lead by passing Robb on Lap 27 and Robb twice took the lead from Daly (Laps 65 and 144) Daly has led the “500” in three of the past four years and has led as many laps at Indy in his career – 69 – as Josef Newgarden the winner of the past two “500s.” Gearing Up: Indy Roars to Life This Week with Sonsio Grand Prix Instant Recall: Racing is the first IndyCar team to embed digital advertising in its cars working with the Seamless Digital company that helped bring the technology to F1 in 2022 Elongated screens will now wrap around the inner aeroscreen area of the car enabling Juncos to display different messages from the team or its sponsors during races The technology will debut with this weekend’s NTT IndyCar Series season finale at Nashville Superspeedway on JHR’s No after Juncos worked with IndyCar in recent months to get approval Juncos has purchased an in-car camera position with NBC for Sunday’s Big Machine Music City Grand Prix meaning the broadcast will now show the area where the digital display will be several times during the race Juncos CMO Mark Myers said that the motivation behind the move is “we’re hungry at Juncos to be a tech-forward brand within the space to try to experiment with new technologies with performance as well as commercially.” Juncos is planning to integrate some of its sponsors into its digital display this weekend but also will have messages from the team like thanking fans for their support during the 2024 season The thought is that this could help enhance sponsor value Seamless started working with McLaren Racing in ’22 bringing the technology to F1 for the first time with a two-display screen near the cockpit that allowed sponsors like Google to change messaging midrace Majesticks GC in LIV Golf and it’s looking like to bring its technology to more mainstream applications like road cars and bike-sharing networks Seamless is also endeavoring to embed the technology into the helmets of drivers The biggest challenge in bringing the technology to racing is that the screens need to be light enough in weight to not impact the team’s chances of winning since a car that is heavier than it needs to be will theoretically go slower Seamless has also found that it’s tricky to be in F1 because F1 teams are routinely updating the bodywork and other parts on their car during the course of a season to try to improve performance so Seamless has at times had to “remake our entire system so it’s quite labor intensive from a development standpoint and that makes it hard to continue innovating the technology when we spend a large portion of time in more or less the same area of the car,” according to Seamless Digital co-Founder & CEO Mark Turner He sees IndyCar being more lucrative for the company as a result Turner also noted that there are different rules in IndyCar than F1 that will allow IndyCar teams to update the messaging they want to show on the screens live during a race whereas in F1 the messaging can only be pre-planned before a race That could allow for something like personalizing the names of a contest winner and announcing it on air via it being displayed on the screens The plan is to roll out more functionality with the screens on JHR’s cars next year Get quick access to your favorite articles Manage alerts on breaking news switch from Agustin Canapino to Conor Daly for the rest of the season) Juncos has been grateful for the stability and professionalism Grosjean provides.  Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet pit stop After a year’s absence, it has been back in the paddock for the past two seasons but in a disjointed manner. There were six drivers racing its two cars in 2023, and last year it reduced to being a part-time one-car entry mid-season after dropping Lindsay Brewer Juncos had signed Paraguayan driver MiguelMa Garcia and before that made two starts in Argentina’s premier TC2000 touring car series as well as trying out rallying in his home country To get open-wheel experience he had done single-seater testing in Europe Juncos has run two champions and won 19 races Its statement announcing the change in its 2025 plans read: “Juncos Hollinger Racing announced today the pause of its Indy Nxt programme Our commitment to excellence in motorsport requires us to make strategic decisions that align with our brand values While we have made the difficult choice to pause our Indy Nxt programme this decision allows us to concentrate our resources where they can be most effective “While stepping back from the Indy Nxt series temporarily the team will continue to evaluate opportunities for future participation in the series Juncos Hollinger Racing remains committed to its IndyCar programme and will announce future developments as they emerge.” Established in 2011 and previously found at PaddockScout.com Formula Scout is home to regular news and features from the world of junior single-seater racing tracking the progress of future grand prix stars We use cookies to enhance your browsing experience We use cookies to help you navigate efficiently and perform certain functions You will find detailed information about all cookies under each consent category below The cookies that are categorized as "Necessary" are stored on your browser as they are essential for enabling the basic functionalities of the site We also use third-party cookies that help us analyze how you use this website and provide the content and advertisements that are relevant to you These cookies will only be stored in your browser with your prior consent You can choose to enable or disable some or all of these cookies but disabling some of them may affect your browsing experience Necessary cookies are required to enable the basic features of this site such as providing secure log-in or adjusting your consent preferences These cookies do not store any personally identifiable data Functional cookies help perform certain functionalities like sharing the content of the website on social media platforms Analytical cookies are used to understand how visitors interact with the website These cookies help provide information on metrics such as the number of visitors Performance cookies are used to understand and analyze the key performance indexes of the website which helps in delivering a better user experience for the visitors Advertisement cookies are used to provide visitors with customized advertisements based on the pages you visited previously and to analyze the effectiveness of the ad campaigns Photo by: Phillip Abbott / Motorsport Images The native Hoosier was thrust into a last-gasp situation for the small organization at the end of the 2024 season, closing out the final five races in an effort to push the team’s No. 78 Chevrolet-powered entry, originally piloted by Agustin Canapino before a midseason divorce back into the Leaders Circle (top 22 in points) and crucial $1 million prize scoring two top 10s that included the teams first-ever podium (third) in Race 1 at The Milwaukee Mile A journeyman by the purest of definitions in North America’s premier open-wheel championship it’s easier to count the number of teams Daly hasn’t driven for than those he has is one where the synergy between the two is obvious “I’ve been through the ups and downs of raising money and through the ups and downs of different operations,” Daly said “I think we’ve seen when a team really believes in you Felix Rosenqvist is a really good example of that what happened to Felix Rosenqvist?’ Then the guy gets with Meyer Shank and the guy is on pole This is very much a team sport; you have to have all the elements with some of the best drivers in the world Daly can recall the last-minute call-up by JHR and how he hitched a ride on Alexander Rossi’s plane just to get his race seat from the Dale Coyne Racing shop so he could make it back in time to test in St and rightly so considering several team members were familiar faces at other stops in his career he won the 2010 Pro Mazda (now Indy Pro 2000) title with Juncos (prior to Hollinger's involvement) during his junior formula career “There’s a lot of make up this whole story of who this works and it’s still going to be a lot of very hard work,” Daly said “We still have a really tough time ahead of us but it almost made sense to get a shot at this; let’s get a shot at the full season and see what we can do together I really didn’t know if I’d have a chance like this again was not at all confident in it unless we won the Mega Millions or got drafted into some situation… I wasn’t really sure so to have a chance again is almost like a surprise.” Photo by: Jake Galstad / Motorsport Images The 33-year-old also sees how JHR are punching above their weight with no technical alliance in an era that has become commonplace for many in IndyCar.  “It is really impressive what the group has done by themselves,” Daly said “It’s very hard to do that in this current era because we’ve had the same car and the same stuff for a very long time but you’re in the ultra fine-tuning mode now and I think you also have to be realistic with things like these are areas we need to get better.’ And I believe that’s where they are focused the speed they showed at the Indy 500 last year in qualifying before the plenum events that hit a lot of the Chevy teams; Canapino was on for being in the top 12 The stuff that we were able to do on the short ovals is super impressive.” Daly is hoping to help elevate the team to a point that the tough days aren’t finishing 10th at a place like Nashville He noted how three-time series champion Alex Palou’s bad days are still top five results.  well we may not have had it today,’ but he’s finishing fourth,” Daly said “How do you make those tough days a little bit higher better and just bring an overall window of speed into a more consistently high range so just trying to eliminate those small things.” And the goals for 2025 are simple: make people remember his prowess on road and street courses - a statement to reflect on his Formula 2 experience - and win the Indianapolis 500 a race he currently carries three consecutive top 10 finishes I want to make people aware of why I even showed up here in the first place,” he said “What we did at Detroit and Watkins Glen my rookie year which Simon Pagenaud talked about on my podcast (“Speed Street”) not too long ago I believe that my focus is making sure that people are like ‘Hey.’ If we’re finishing in the top 10 on the road and street course and continually pushing to get better there because I feel that’s where people think I am weak for some reason “I know where we’re going to be on the ovals that’s not an issue for me; I’m the most confident there I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t go into the Indy 500 and be like the Indy 500 is a very big opportunity for us to succeed together especially because we got to test together in October They know a little bit about what I want and I know everything about what I want there.” 22 the colorful liveries for its two NTT INDYCAR SERIES cars in 2025 driven by newcomer Sting Ray Robb and returnee Conor Daly above) Chevrolet-powered cars will first race in 2025 at the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding on Sunday 13 a pause of its INDY NXT by Firestone program The team has fielded cars in the INDYCAR development series periodically since 2012 Juncos Racing won series drivers championships in 2015 with Spencer Pigot and in 2017 with Kyle Kaiser JHR fielded entries in 2024 for Ricardo Escotto and Lindsay Brewer. While O'Neill would not go into specifics on the drivers in consideration for the second seat to partner alongside Robb, it is believed the candidates are Conor Daly, Romain Grosjean, and Rinus VeeKay.  joining after the team parted ways with Agustin Canapino and helped vault the entry back into the top 22 in the standings and earning $1 million for finishing in the Leaders Circle Grosjean came over to the organization this past season and showed flashes of brilliance even vaulting them to a team-best fourth-place result at Laguna Seca And VeeKay became one of the more surprising names to join the list of free agents especially after having spent his entire IndyCar career — five years — to this point with Ed Carpenter Racing there is history between the Dutchman and JHR as the two united to win the 2018 Indy Pro 2000 title before finishing as the championship runner-up in Indy NXT the following season.  Although filling the second seat is high on the priority list for O'Neill he delved back into Robb's results from this past season and not only compared them to Santino Ferrucci "The main thing is that if you look at last year's results and then also we don't really know how good Ferrucci is," O'Neill said "We have to assume that he's very good from the results But the bit I'd like to go back to is that if you look at Sting Ray's results He had three mechanical failures to my knowledge and he was five points outside the 22nd place the first thing I guess you look for is to make sure you have two drivers that can finish within the sub-22nd position "He definitely didn't have the consistency that we can give him and also the knowledge of the engineering department the consistency within the pit stops that we can give him but if we can put our arm around him and get him comfortable in the team I think that he can produce decent results race by race What decent results means is trying to get into the top 10 but consistently finishing within the top 15 is where we would set our sights on to put the championship together." He first joined the team for the 2019 season in Indy Pro 2000 placing fourth in the overall standings before winning seven races en route to the championship the following year He moved up to Indy NXT with JHR in 2021 and placed eighth in the standings before switching to Andretti Global the next season where he won one race and finished runner-up in the championship.  That history together is part of what team co-owner Ricardo Juncos expressed to O'Neill further noting how the strong results were not necessarily instant but clicked as Robb gained more experience but he has taken three years to get there to win the championships," O'Neill said I'm not saying he's going to win the IndyCar championship but what I can say is that he's there to produce some decent results in year three which I think is better than better than the car he was driving last year." the formula that O'Neill wants to establish is having a pair of drivers that bring a level of funding that can help raise the floor of JHR especially with the possibility of a new car being introduced to the IndyCar Series by 2027.  While this likely means a more cautious approach as the team builds a more firm infrastructure across engineering and other departments the focus is more on the long-term future of the organization "The main thing is to stabilize the system but also have a little bit of a glide path into how we are going to tackle the new car," O'Neill said "We need to take a breath as a team at that point to come up with some form of structure The first thing we'd look into the structure is putting someone in place to understand how we're going to tackle the new project and also all the different dimensions the new car brings to us and disciplines that we have to learn stabilizing but also trying to move forward at the same time at a decent pace — not a silly pace — but also structuring the new car and facility to be able to facilitate that new program."  there is little aim to move to add a third entry exclusive to the Indy 500 and extend the team beyond its resources.  "While it would be great to run three cars I don't think it's worth stretching a team for that to earn a couple of hundred thousand dollars," O'Neill said "It's more sensible to carry on as we are building the team now But getting another 10-12 people in the house the thing that put the end to it all was that GM just didn't have that extra engine for us to take." INDIANAPOLIS -- Agustin Canapino and Juncos Hollinger Racing have mutually decided to part ways ending a relationship between the IndyCar Series team and Argentine driver that turned controversial when he took a brief leave of absence in June following a third social media firestorm in a year The team announced the decision Wednesday with a social media post on X and its website in which it commended Canapino for moving to open wheel racing and to the United States "Both Agustin and the team have worked tirelessly to learn and succeed throughout his time at JHR and we are extremely proud of what we have achieved together," the team said Canapino stepped away from the team in June before a race at Road America in Wisconsin after disputing claims that rival driver Théo Pourchaire had received online death threats from Canapino fans over an on-track incident between the two Arrow McLaren Racing wound up ending its technical and marketing relationship with JHR over the fiasco with both parties decrying any form of abuse or discrimination JHR said then it didn't believe Canapino was focused enough to race in the resulting fallout and replaced him with rookie Nolan Siegel Pourchaire had made contact with Canapino's No 78 Chevy on a late restart during the Detroit Grand Prix though the French driver received an avoidable contact penalty Pourchaire later wrote on social media that he had received death threats previously said that Canapino's passionate fan base had made threatening comments at times last season Ilott said he felt he never received support from the team over the online abuse and was released at the end of last season his best performance amid finishes of 15th or worse in 11 starts His last race was a 26th-place finish last month on Toronto's street course Long rumored to be a favorite for the open seat at Juncos Hollinger Racing alongside Sting Ray Robb -- one of the three remaining full-time seats in IndyCar Silly Season for 2025 -- Daly indicated in this week's episode that an opportunity is not yet secure Daly described the last couple months of searching for sponsorship as "one of the most difficult offseasons I've ever gone through I pretty much knew all I'd have was the 500 (with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing) I literally feel like I'm either in or so dead," Daly continued Daly's latest proposal with Polkadot asks the community to approve a $3 million budget for next season that would cover his participation in six IndyCar races The hope is funding for the other 11 IndyCar races would come from other avenues and together combine for a full-season IndyCar program for Daly Results from the proposal won't be known for another month leaving Daly either hoping for better results on the vote and prospective team owners willing to wait or the goodwill of Ricardo Juncos and Brad Hollinger to sign him for the budget he's already secured with the hope that more will soon be on the way -- and the willingness to fill the gap if it doesn't From May: What's Polkadot, and why is it sponsoring Conor Daly's Indy 500 car? We explain Incumbent Romain Grosjean has been trying to stay in the mix to snatch back his ride by attempting to secure JHR meaningful sponsorship dollars and partners they've been lacking since the team's return to IndyCar in 2021 Other drivers on the free agent market include Daly's former Ed Carpenter Racing teammate Rinus VeeKay The strain of the work and the unknowns of it all have been more than the typical grind for Daly and I can't focus on being a racecar driver currently There are people who are employed to sell sponsorship and it seems like the driver is the one everyone's reliant on," he said "The last few weeks and months have been excruciatingly annoying to where I should be happy to be working on something like this my entire existence is in other people's control and all I can do is present folks a reason to get behind me and say we're going to go compete.' We did it in a month's time last year and we'd like to have a full season's worth of time to compete (this year)." IndyCar silly season: Devlin DeFrancesco completes RLL's 2025 full-season IndyCar lineup whose best results of late have come in oval races Daly's 3rd-place finish in Race 1 of the doubleheader at the Milwaukee Mile, JHR's first IndyCar podium, salvaged a top-22 spot and proved to be maybe the underdog story of the season But with team co-owner Brad Hollinger no longer wanting to significantly prop up the team's budgetary shortfalls an extensive search this offseason for sponsors -- and drivers linked to sizable budgets -- has taken place Robb, who was believed to be wielding the largest sponsorship package on the free agent market, shored up some of those concerns with his signing last month but with full-season budgets climbing rapidly since the introduction of hybrid technology more will undoubtedly be needed to lift the team to being reasonably competitive as ownership continues to bolster its engineering and leadership groups Indy 500: Ryan Hunter-Reay returns to Dreyer and Reinbold for 500, teaming up with Jack Harvey Daly admitted on the podcast that in other years he might've simply welcomed a return to status quo and stayed with solid 500 machinery at DRR but the pull of the potential for a larger IndyCar opportunity less than two years removed from the full-time ride he was booted from by ECR midway through 2023 is something he doesn't yet want to give up on "I've essentially put all my eggs in one basket and either everything is going to be okay or a complete disaster and everything's destroyed," he said "And then I won't have any racing to do next year and I have no idea how these teams are going to sustain themselves at some point Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) and Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) have both struck new primary partnerships ahead of IndyCar’s Long Beach weekend MannKind will support the number 76 car of Conor Daly the only known US motorsport driver competing full-time with type one diabetes (T1D) The biopharmaceutical company previously partnered with Daly on a full-season deal in 2021 having first collaborated with the driver for the 2019 Indianapolis 500.  Root Insurance has also returned to a previous relationship by following Armstrong to MSR The firm was a primary sponsor on his car last season with Chip Ganassi Racing and remains a partner of the team in addition to this new deal Root Insurance will be primary sponsor at four races this year starting from this weekend “I look forward to sharing my T1D story through the renewed partnership with MannKind,” said Daly 76 MannKind Chevrolet in motion in Long Beach this weekend to show living with diabetes doesn’t have to hold you back.” “I’m excited to have Root back as a primary sponsor this year for four races,” said Armstrong “I have a great relationship with the team at Root and I’m looking forward to continuing the partnership Last year I scored my first-ever IndyCar podium with Root on the car in Detroit and hopefully this year we can add to those results starting with Long Beach.” Following this weekend’s race at Long Beach from 11th to 13th April both companies will return to their respective cars for the Detroit Grand Prix on 1st June MannKind makes its last appearance on Daly’s car at Gateway on 15th June while Root Insurance has two more outings as primary partner at Laguna Seca (27th July) and Nashville (31st August) Both firms have agreed full-season associate sponsorship deals Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) adds Sting Ray Robb to its driver roster for the 2025 IndyCar season While this will mark the third team in as many years in North America’s premier open-wheel championship for the Idaho native the pairing with JHR marks a reunion after the two previously won the Indy Pro Championship in 2020.  and we’ve had the privilege of seeing his growth as a driver first-hand during our championship run in Indy Pro” expressed Ricardo Juncos “This is more than a reunion; it’s a chance to pick up right where we left off and truly aim for the top of this series We’re committed to making this season a breakout year for Sting Ray as well as an extraordinary year for JHR as we continue to elevate our presence in IndyCar.” Robb spent this past season with AJ Foyt Racing earning his first-ever top 10 in the series with a career-best ninth in St He also led a career-high 23 laps in the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 before finishing 16th he spent the 2023 season with Dale Coyne Racing.   “We are delighted to welcome Sting Ray to the team,” said Brad Hollinger and we are eager to see what we can achieve together in the year ahead.” The 23-year-old Robb shared his excitement in reuniting with the team he found the height of his success in IndyCar’s developmental ranks “To be sought out by leaders like Ricardo Juncos & Brad Hollinger and a team as driven as JHR means the world to me,” said Robb “We share a vision for what we can achieve together and I’m honored to contribute to JHR’s continued growth Excited to see what we accomplish together with our ambition and the 'power of possibility'!" WEST ALLIS, Wisc. – Back when Conor Daly last stood on an IndyCar podium he was flanked by a pair of series champions in Juan Pablo Montoya and Sebastien Bourdais and jokes now that his 24-year-old self was still “trying to be elite.” Eight years later, he’s just trying to be an IndyCar driver at all Daly’s display of grit and guts that set a season-record with 51 on-track passes across 250 laps in his first visit to The Milwaukee Mile was the perfect encapsulation of why the 32-year-old Noblesville native hasn’t yet given up on the sport “I feel like I have a lot that I still want to do in this world The last couple years have been obviously really difficult for me in the situation I was in (at Ed Carpenter Racing) “But this group around me has been so supportive I know I can run at the front with these guys and the car gave me the opportunity to do that tonight.” IndyCar points picture: Series championship points standings after Milwaukee Race 1 Daly had logged three top-6 finishes through the first eight races of his first full-season IndyCar campaign with Dale Coyne Racing but over the next five years his racing career lacked stability as he bounced from another full-season ride with AJ Foyt Racing (2017) two seasons where he hopped around to make 11 total starts (2018-19) and two more where he split his time between Ed Carpenter Racing and Carlin but never firmly had his feet planted anywhere It wasn’t until a last-minute meeting during a leisure trip to Las Vegas that Daly secured reliable funding to land a full-season ride with ECR in a single seat as part of a multi-year deal And within 18 months, that home had imploded, as internal tensions and lackluster results eroded his foundation and left him dipping his toes into the NASCAR Trucks and Xfinity series, as well as the Nitrocross Championship, all just in 2023. By the time winter arrives, Daly will have driven for seven teams in six different championships he’s raced for 10 active teams during his career all but Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing though it generates plenty of flack on social media as young hopeful stars on the outskirts of the sport struggle to maintain rides has earned him the respect of virtually all of the paddock – displayed no better than the point 4th-place Santino Ferrucci made to seek out Daly and congratulate the JHR driver after he executed a pass on his bitter rival that sealed his podium finish with under 30 laps to go “I think it’s really impressive what we’ve done with this group It’s still a fairly fresh team from the last five I love this group of people they’ve brought together,” said Daly who pointed out that large swaths of JHR employees migrated over from Carlin when the latter sold off its IndyCar assets to JHR and left the sport Daly had been an oval-only driver for Carlin and delivered that team its first IndyCar pole in 2020 because it’s been a very unlucky year for them This is the first race we’ve been together where I haven’t been spun at least once Conor Daly World Tour: 7 days, 3 races, 4 cars, 4 states, finishes 14th in Pennzoil 250 for the 22nd and final spot – and was even technically out by virtue of a tiebreaker The 35 points from Daly’s podium finish sent the entry leaping ahead three spots into 20th with a pair of races to go this year Heading into Sunday’s Race 2 of the doubleheader Daly’s car sits 13 points clear of the cutline And even in landing that payday for Juncos and Hollinger Daly flatly admitted he’s by no means guaranteed to hold onto the ride beyond the Sept 15 season-finale at Nashville Superspeedway It’s no paddock secret that JHR is strapped for funding at the moment sporting a pair of black-and-green cars with very few sponsor stickers Three years into Hollinger’s introduction into IndyCar after having served as a major backer of the Williams Formula 1 team the American businessman has made it no secret he needs to begin to see progress with his investment that helped bring an intrepid Juncos back onto the IndyCar scene in 2021 Even the world-famous ex-F1 star Romain Grosjean hasn’t seemed to deliver the number of interested partners one might’ve expected during the sides’ nine months together Juncos confirmed to reporters earlier this month that he and Hollinger have been in talks with interested partners – including the father of sidelined IndyCar driver Devlin DeFrancesco – though it’s unclear what it could mean for the team’s future Daly, who landed backing this year from blockchain network Polkadot to run the Indy 500 with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, and whose support helped him make an Xfinity series start at IMS in July is uncertain whether that funding will be back for 2025 At a time when he seems to be finding some pace the finances are very difficult to make happen in this world,” Daly said “Thankfully I’ve got next week planned and the weekend after that with podiums come paydays for IndyCar teams – and as Daly seemed to hint stream-of-consciousness back-and-forth among Saturday’s podium finishers runner-up Will Power asked Daly if he was yet engaged to his girlfriend then I’ve got to get 40 more of these (podiums) then.” Robb will drive for a third different team for his third year in IndyCar Juncos Hollinger Racing has announced that Sting Ray Robb will join the team for the 2025 IndyCar season Robb has been on the IndyCar grid for the past two seasons competing with Dale Coyne Racing and AJ Foyt Racing in that time He has earned one career top 10 result at World Wide Technology Raceway but has struggled to land consistent results earning the Indy Pro 2000 championship in 2020 and competing with the team in Indy Lights in 2021 He will be reunited with the team for his third year in the top level series and we’ve had the privilege of seeing his growth as a driver first-hand during our championship run in Indy Pro” said Ricardo Juncos Robb’s signing fills one of two seats at JHR with the team’s second driver yet to be announced Romain Grosjean raced with the team last season and was partnered with Agustin Canapino before he was released mid-season Conor Daly stepped in to fill the role for the remainder of the year None of those recent drivers currently have contracts for 2025 and are available if JHR wishes to re-sign them Excited to see what we accomplish together with our ambition and the ‘power of possibility’!” and website in this browser for the next time I comment Δdocument.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value" Click here for full Drivers’ Standings The 2025 IndyCar Series season is underway, and Sting Ray Robb is with a new team Here's what you should know about Sting Ray Robb: St. Petersburg: 21st Thermal: 23rd Long Beach: 9th leading 12 laps; ties his career best finish Barber: 22nd Yes. He requested that the entire case be sealed and removed from the Wisconsin Court System's online records database Waukesha County Circuit Judge William Domina said it was "not in the interest of justice" to seal the case Another case in Milwaukee County was sealed last month That involved a different woman who had sought a harassment restraining order against Junco in 2020 Junco filed a lawsuit in federal court in February 2024 against the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Police Department accusing an officer of handcuffing him too tightly and fracturing his wrist after he was suspected of scalping Mexican Fiesta tickets on the Summerfest grounds The case was later dismissed after Junco failed to pay a filing fee More recently, Junco received local media attention when he said he began patrolling his neighborhood on Milwaukee’s east side during the middle of the night in response to an uptick in car break-ins and other property crimes complaining that "nobody was doing anything about it." Junco's other problems with the law occurred in Georgia as well as Orange Specific details on some of those cases were not immediately available Junco successfully requested that a restraining order linked to a decade-old dating violence case against him be dissolved He wrote that he had missed a 2012 hearing because he was "exhausted of dealing" with the "unfounded complaints" against him He added that he had no desire to contact the woman involved and "respectfully request this honorable court to clear my name regarding this matter." Court records show the woman was never served with the notice of hearing When asked why there were so many accusations against him spreading across multiple years and states the criminal justice system is not perfect as we know very well right here in Milwaukee." the type of people I've been attracted to," he said to this day that I'm sitting here talking to you I'm 41 years old and choose to remain single." From last season: Conor Daly’s back on an IndyCar podium in star run at Milwaukee Mile Daly will be looked at as a pleader whose performance will ultimately determine the trajectory of JHR's short-term future This project embarked upon by Juncos and Hollinger in the late-summer of 2021 already feels as if it's in its fourth unique phase in relatively short order: a one-car team with Callum Ilott that occasionally flashed competitive speed; two cars during a rocky season that featured more off-track storylines than on; and one that replaced the young hotshot Ilott with the notoriety of ex-F1 driver Romain Grosjean in hopes that his global popularity and Agustin Canapino's Argentine fanfare would generate sponsorship A team that rarely had sponsorship stickers in 2024, there's a reason JHR has a new lineup with Robb delivering what is believed to be the largest sponsor backing on the free agent market and Daly bringing the potential of a $3 million check from Polkadot his Indy 500 and NASCAR sponsor from the 2024 season along with other smaller deals he'd already accumulated as he navigated the murky waters of free agency yet again More: Inside Conor Daly's sponsorship package hopes with Polkadot In August, Daly was pitching the Polkadot community on a $7.5 million sponsorship package that would've seen him completely change his career path and race full-time in NASCAR's Xfinity series while only running the 500 in a one-off with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing After that program was vehemently voted down and with Grosjean simultaneously working in the background to cobble together new partners to try and keep a hold on his seat there were moments where it was unclear whether Daly's IndyCar career would continue he's found his fourth full-time home -- previously running with Dale Coyne Racing (2016) AJ Foyt Racing (2017) and Ed Carpenter Racing (2022-23) Should he manage to hold onto this seat for a full two seasons -- ECR cut Daly midway through his second full-time campaign after inconsistent results and intra-team tension -- or longer this opportunity represents one that seems to have the building blocks for a long-term partnership “Our main priority this year is to build upon the success we’ve seen in the team’s short three-year campaign,” JHR team principal Dave O’Neill said in a news release is set to take over 4th all-time in series starts without a win which came in 2022 in a season with ECR featuring a 5th-place finish on the IMS road course and a run to 6th in the 500 and one spot back of Ilott's 2023 performance that saw him unceremoniously cut deep into the offseason Only time will tell whether Daly can deliver the on-track performance off-track relationships and the funding that powers it all to rid himself of his 'IndyCar nomad' status ShareSaveCommentBusinessSportsMoneyIndyCar ‘Super Sub’ Conor Daly Hopes Juncos Hollinger Becomes FulltimeByBruce Martin I have been chasing race cars since adding to a run of poor results at a critical time in the pursuit of Leaders' Circle prize money Now Canapino and Juncos have “mutually and amicably” parted ways Canapino mysteriously did not take part in a test at Gateway last week Four of the final five races of the season are on ovals so Daly would be a strong choice to step in Canapino's #78 car is not in the top 22 in the entrant points standings for teams eligible for the Leaders' Circle Canapino's strong run at Laguna Seca last year helped that car sneak into the Leaders' Circle top 22 but it faces strong competition to secure a spot again in 2024 Please accept marketing cookies to enable YouTube videos which featured flashes of on-track promise and off-track controversy has come to a close after Juncos Hollinger Racing announced the pair's "mutual" and "amicable" parting with five races left in the 2024 IndyCar season Wednesday but also moving to the US and learning the language to join our series," the team said in a brief statement and we are extremely proud of what we have achieved together." 78 Chevy sitting five points out of the final Leaders Circle spot that would pay JHR team co-owners Ricardo Juncos and Brad Hollinger just over $1 million in prize money over multiple installments in 2025 For a team whose pair of rebranded black and green cars have been largely bare of sponsorship in 2024 the loss of such a significant amount of funding as costs continue to rise in the sport would likely be difficult After an up-and-down debut season in 2023 that he entrered with virtually no open-wheel racing experience Canapino delivered a couple solid results that suggested he and the JHR team were beginning to round into form after changes in the offseason Along with qualifying for the feature round at the $1 Million Challenge at The Thermal Club and finishing 10th Canapino finished a respectable 16th at St Pete to go with 15th at Long Beach and 12th at Detroit Canapino's status with the team took a turn in Detroit during which he suffered contact from Arrow McLaren rookie Theo Pourchaire in the hairpin that hosted much of the day's incidents Pourchaire was penalized for the relatively minor incident but it took Canapino out of the running for a potential first points-paying top-10 of his career fans of Canapino's lashed out at Pourchaire flooding his social media posts with vitriolic comments and threatening direct messages that both teams condemned whose fans had reacted similarly twice the year prior during run-ins with then-teammate Callum Ilott 'liking' some tweets that made light of the situation The Argentine driver eventually posted a statement of his own -- against the wishes of his team -- that both rebuffed the idea of abuse and hate online, but rejected the idea that Pourchaire had received such messages for the simple reason that he had not seen them Canapino also added that he had often recieved hate during his career and grew to ignore it and suggested others do the same After Nolan Siegel took over for the round JHR announced the following week that Canapino would return to the team for the upcoming Laguna Seca round "for the remainder of the season" -- a plan that would clearly change over the next four weeks ‘We had to do something’: Agustin Canapino takes leave of absence from Juncos Hollinger Results of 18th (Laguna Seca) and 22nd (Mid-Ohio) led to a trio of consecutive DNFs during the Iowa doubleheader and Toronto round The first two included a Lap 1 crash he was simply collected in and a mechanical failure but he went into the summer break completing just four laps on the streets of Toronto after tapping wheels with Scott Dixon during an early restart and sailing into the Turn 4 wall In Canapino's place last week during a private team test at World Wide Technology Raceway IndyCar journeyman Conor Daly manned the No 78 Chevy and appears a likley candidate to fill-in for some or all of the remaining rounds to try and lift the entry back into a paying Leaders Circle spot for 2025 who's watched this IndyCar season from the sidelines after a two-year start to his career at Andretti Global has long been understood to be in discussions with the team for a ride in 2025.
