For example, Barcelona is a blend of bold florals and musk that entices and was inspired by flamenco. Casablanca was visualized as the Moroccan fig trees that grow in this landscape and the unisex ability this lush fig has in perfumery. Fragrance can be transportive, and we wanted this first collection to play on the idea of travel When working with perfume and fragrance notes I kept coming back to the idea of the intentional spaces and the feeling of being on an extended vacation It all felt interconnected to being a New Yorker I wanted it to be luxurious but not pretentious so it felt right to bring luxe but down-to-earth pieces into the collection to wear while at home or during a chill day out This was very important to my Afro-Dominican culture Street style also has a cultural influence in the Black community I’ve taken those elements and brought them together to create a luxury space Working during this difficult time has been challenging both mentally and logistically it was jarring to create intentional ritual items in such an uncertain time and the landscape was so surreal during the height of the pandemic We lived in such fear that it felt impossible to create at times I really just focused on our core collection during that time and did not release any projects we worked on until recently raw materials have been scarce since the pandemic and this time has really pushed me to become very savvy in terms of sourcing I have at least two that are being formulated for an end-of-year release Both will play on earthy notes and aromatherapy elements which has been very exciting for me as I have pushed myself as a creative into the perfumery space We are looking forward to creating pop-up show room events for visual and sensory experiences so this is something we are really excited about We also are working on expanding on our candle collection to include limited-edition glass textures and fragrance to curate a line that is ever-evolving and inspiring There are more than 300 Salcobrand pharmacies scattered across Chile all of which are what you’d expect from a typical modern-day drugstore except for one: Botica Salcobrand on Plaza Aníbal Pinto where picking up a prescription is like taking a trip back in time The opening of a new Salcobrand pharmacy in Chile would rarely garner much attention. But when the Botica Salcobrand opened in a historic building on Plaza Aníbal Pinto in 2012, residents of Valparaiso This was all thanks to the design of the new drugstore one which recreated the look and feel of a pharmacy from the 1900s The Botica Salcobrand sells the same drugs and sunscreens as all the other stores in the chain but everything else inside reflects a bygone era The shelves and stands are all made of wood and atop the wooden counter sits an antique cash register typical of pharmacies from the early 1900s Even the staff is dressed in old fashioned uniforms and if you speak to the make-up department you’ll be invited to sit in and old barber’s chair to discuss your pending purchase It’s a real trip back in time and a stark contrast to typical drugstores with their bright lights and clinical aspect there’s a tearoom further inside where you can sit back The Botica Salcobrand on Plaza Aníbal Pinto is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m An old drug store full of mortars and pestles and medicines reputed to cure most any illness Entire apothecaries are on display at this Lisbon museum The young girl gained fame for her atypical size and was regarded as a curiosity by the Spanish aristocracy When this former hospital pharmacy closed in 2013 it already looked like a museum The oldest continuously operating pharmacy in Europe Overlooking the burial ground is a tower designed to prevent thieves from snatching the recently deceased The only museum about the history of dentistry in Canada The 19th-century pharmacy (now a used bookstore) was featured in James Joyce’s "Ulysses," and has changed very little to this day You are using an outdated browser. at its five locations by means of installing solar panels on its own buildings and LED lights in all locations namely Eagle Solar is a natural choice for Aruba where the sun shines 365 days a year.  explains that Botica Di Servicio is taking a leadership role in the switch to alternative fuels on Aruba noting that solar power saves money in the long run The solar panel installation on the pharmacy’s roof was a joint effort by Elmar NV each company contributing to the timely delivery of the project The electricity generated by the panels goes into the ELMAR NV grid crediting the company’s electric bill.   “We have installed 356 solar panels,” informs Van der Poel,“ that will generate 160,000kWh per year which is much more than Botica Eagle consumes and we will continue to install additional solar panels in all affiliated pharmacies.”  “Solar is the way to go,” Van der Poel,” concludes “and we are proud to be among the trailblazers of alternative energy sources on the remembered as one of New Zealand’s best dual code internationals and he has now looked back on his spell in Wales playing union with Llanelli Having made his name with the All Blacks before figuring prominently for a Wigan side who are still considered one of the greatest outfits in English sporting history Botica became one of the first global superstars to ply his trade in Welsh club rugby when the game turned professional At that stage Botica was a player ahead of his time and his arrival was a huge coup for the town of Llanelli and their famous rugby side “I was at Castleford in Super League and I had a few games for Orrell in rugby union when Llanelli came in and paid a huge transfer fee,” Botica remembers “Llanelli were very ambitious and they were a serious player in European club rugby at the time so I decided to join them “Stuart Gallagher became involved in negotiations and he was great Gareth Jenkins was the coach at the time and he was very good with me He’s a big character and extremely passionate Frano Botica’s exceptional talent was obvious during his time in Llanelli While Botica is unfairly associated with the financial turmoil which preceded his time at Stradey Park it is easy to forget just how much of an influence he had on Welsh rugby Here was a unique talent who brought a different level of professionalism to domestic rugby in Wales and who was known to win games almost single-handedly Botica added: “The games that really stood out were when we played French clubs in the Heineken Cup The French players used to say a few abusive things “I could speak French so I knew what they were saying There was one game against Pau at Stradey which was pretty mental There was abuse thrown around and punches going everywhere “I actually got headbutted in that game so it was pretty rough Back in those days they did whatever they liked “The rivalry was very strong and they were extremely passionate In those days Welsh rugby was extremely tribal.” Botica (centre) watches Wales train in 2017 with former forwards coach Robin McBryde (left) and son Jacob (right) Botica continued: “I was at Llanelli for 18 months and even though I absolutely loved most of my time there The new sponsor coming in didn’t want to inherit old debt I ended up leaving Wales having lost a lot of money “I want to make absolutely clear I don’t blame most at Llanelli I was extremely close to Stuart who was a good friend of mine while the players and all the staff were great.” Email: info@wru.wales Telephone: 02920 822 000 Conroy-Botica joins FEDERATION club Botica played for French second division side Perigueux en route to four years at London club Harlequins he endured a tumultuous period after Aaron Cruden's arrival last year He didn't know it then but fate was on his side Out of a job and fearing for his rugby future Botica jumped at a call from Oyonnax to be a late medical joker signing Who could have known that path would lead to this "Montpellier was probably the worst part of my career in terms of rugby and not knowing what the hell is going on it turned out to probably be the best move of my career in terms of being able to be the starting 10 and actually being able to run a team "I've always been the guy coming off the bench so Oyonnax gave me a new lease of rugby life and opened a fair few doors for me now." Botica led the Top 14 with 318 points last season - kicking around 90 per cent It's something I've done since I was five-years-old - I just love doing it." Despite Oyonnax losing the promotion-relegation playoff against Grenoble Botica's form saw him pip French first-five Julien Dumora and former NRL star turned Bordeaux midfielder Semi Radradra for the Top 14 award voted for by the players "I didn't think about getting player of the season and when I got nominated I was pretty happy with the way the season went for me but not happy with the team in general he joins the likes of former All Blacks Victor Vito and Byron Kelleher "There's a pretty elite class of players to have won it so I was stoked to be put in that category with All Blacks .. I knew it was going to be a tough season coming in and trying to make a mark against these teams and some of the players they have He always told me to buckle down and grind it out The 28-year-old former New Zealand schoolboys and North Harbour playmaker contemplated a move home but instead indicated Bordeaux could be the next stop on his roller-coaster journey "I've spoken to the coach there and I like the sound of their plans I'm just hoping I can go there and help them push into the finals "I obviously never played Super Rugby and I always wanted to know what it would be like to get a taste of that But then I bedded myself so long in England and France "I don't see any point in going back right now I'm still playing a high level of rugby over here .. and the money isn't too bad either compared to New Zealand died after an 11-bike crash at Oulton Park It’s been a year since Fred Botica and Lisa Shaw rebooted at 96FM Perth The pair launched their Botica’s Bunch for Breakfast show on July 8 last year and celebrated on-air yesterday with Fremantle Docker’s legend Matthew Pavlich Botica and Shaw began broadcasting together in 1997 and are the most successful Breakfast team in Perth radio history but in 2019 decided to return to the airwaves on 96FM and are Perth’s #2 Breakfast Show and website in this browser for the next time I comment Δdocument.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value" Click here to sign up to our free daily newsletter for the latest in radio, audio and podcasting news and jobs Krishna Botica in one of her three Asian restautants By RNZ Every time someone offered sympathy to restaurant owner Krishna Botica during lockdown she'd keep one thing in mind: "A city without restaurants and bars is not a city" as well as being the head of the Auckland branch of the NZ Restaurant Association She told Jim Mora on RNZ's Sunday Morning the survival of her business relied on her and partner Tony McGeorge to make decisions quickly The couple reduced their salaries by 75 per cent rented their house out to take the pressure off paying a mortgage which allowed them to focus on other decisions They stayed in touch with staff throughout "But we can pivot quickly and fill in the details later and that's what it seems to take to get ahead of this beast of a disease as well as keeping our staff employed."
