The unidentified human remains recovered last week in a desert just south of where a 17-year-old St George boy went missing nearly two years ago are cause for concern for some of his supporters.  Some members of an online group supporting Macin Smith's location efforts were alarmed upon hearing deputies couldn't identify the few human remains they found on Thursday much less give an age range or other demographic to rule Macin out "I think a lot of people are particularly worried about this one and with good reason," said TaeLynn Johnson George does make your heart stop a little." The remains were recovered on the Arizona Strip along County Road 101 According to a Mohave County Sheriff's Office news release deputies found the "lower half of a human jawbone and some long bones."  Macin left his home for school on the morning of Sept the story of his disappearance and his family's relentless devotion to "bring him home" has spread across the globe.  More: Unidentified human remains found in desert south of St. George especially in select places like Sacramento California, where the family has received promising tips from offering to lead searches in their own cities or to suggest search tactics The narrative behind Macin's disappearance aired on the television show "Disappeared," which caused the online Facebook group to grow exponentially It now boasts of more than 40,600 members.  More: Possible Macin Smith sightings give family 'cautious optimism' who's also been heavily involved in the investigation behind the scenes said many people were trying to post information about the human remains on the page but she said she's more comfortable with "hanging back" while everyone waits for more information "There's no need to send the group into a panic unnecessarily," she said adding that she herself had posted — but later deleted — a message about the remains on the page hadn't yet heard the news out of Mohave County when Johnson shared the story and allowing every possible lead to be posted to the public page just creates muddled confusion for everyone involved "People start confusing facts and speculating spending way too much time on spurious angles and not enough on the real tasks at hand," Johnson said.  MCSO public information officer, the remains are still at the medical examiner's office pending autopsy.  More: Macin Smith's mother still hopes to find missing son alive "What's unique about this is that our deputies couldn't really gauge whether they were old by many years or had been out there for six months," Carter said "It can take months and months before they're able to determine anything." Identifying herself as a layperson and not a trained investigator computer technicians and other entities advised her to keep the vast majority of her search efforts out of public view Johnson said she hopes to be able to reinstate her post about the human remains to the page for the sake of its members' morale "If I can help soothe anyone's worries by providing information or even jotting a few words of encouragement I'm waiting to hear back from the family." The overwhelming response to any new information on the page "speaks volumes" about Macin and his family More: Local group to stage 14th search for Macin Smith But also significantly valuable to Macin's hopeful return home are the relentless efforts orchestrated by strangers who belong to the Facebook group.  Follow reporter Emily Havens on Twitter, @EmilyJHavens, and find her on Facebook at facebook.com/emilyjhavens GEORGE — Macin Smith disappeared nearly four years ago from his home in the Little Valley area of St and despite numerous search efforts by volunteers and professionals there has been no trace of the 17-year-old boy George police say the case is still considered an “active missing persons investigation.” But while police are exploring the possibility that Macin ran away from home court documents indicate that detectives have also been exploring the possibility that Macin was murdered The Deseret News has collected and reviewed nearly a dozen search warrant affidavits filed by St George police in 7th District Court over the past couple of years regarding the Macin Smith investigation Several of the warrants state that police are collecting evidence to investigate “the crime or crimes of criminal homicide.” Some of the warrants openly raise questions about the actions and statements from Macin’s parents — including allegations that Macin's parents never called detectives for updates about the case that they didn't participate in searches for their son and made inconsistent statements Throughout the investigation there have been discrepancies between what Macin's parents “Throughout the investigation there have been discrepancies between what Macin's parents These discrepancies all point to the fact Tracey and Darrin know more information surrounding Macin's disappearance then they have disclosed,” police wrote in an affidavit dated June 21 Investigators were concerned enough about the parents' alleged inconsistent statements that they placed a GPS tracker on Darrin Smith's pickup truck for at least 60-days — and possibly longer — to monitor his movements according to an affidavit originally filed in March of 2017 but it did not become public until last month in an effort to preserve the integrity of the investigation Smith told the Deseret News Wednesday that he did not know he had been monitored by police But he said he welcomed the scrutiny because he believes it will clear his name "I’m actually glad that they did put that on my vehicle because I’ve got nothing to hide,” he said Tracey Smith concurred that she was unaware of the GPS monitor until this week "I guess nothing surprises me at this point I’m not opposed to any of that,” she said Wednesday "The sooner they would investigate us the sooner they could move on and hopefully find a trail to where Macin is I don’t think I’m shocked at anything anymore And if that’s what it took to rule Darrin out The warrant was approved just before a nationally televised program on the Investigation Discovery network about Macin’s disappearance aired “I know individuals are known to return to the scene of a crime,” the warrant states “Based upon the totality of the circumstances and the fact Darrin has admitted to continuing to search on his own I believe there is enough probable cause to issue a search warrant to place a mobile tracking device … upon Darrin's 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab truck.” What evidence was collected was unknown Thursday The warrant was approved to track Smith for 60 days George police have not confirmed whether they sought an extension on that but did say this week that Smith is no longer being monitored George police spokeswoman Tiffany Atkin said Wednesday that no one in the Macin investigation is considered a "suspect" right now But detectives believe there are persons of interest who may have more information about what happened "Anyone that had any association with Macin or may know what happened to him and tried to find out if they have that piece of information that would help us find him,” she said Any time that we have asked for him to come in and speak with us the Smiths and their six children moved from Canada to St George in order for Tracey Smith to pursue a job opportunity His father told police that he had taken Macin’s cellphone and laptop away from him as punishment for watching anime sometime during the night of Aug the Smiths believed Macin got up and went to Desert Hills High School as normal “Darrin went and knocked on Macin’s door to ensure he was awake Darrin went back into his bedroom and went to sleep Darrin and Tracey both said they thought they heard Macin in the kitchen prior to him leaving for school,” according to the June 2017 search warrant And then we both heard Macin leave," Darrin Smith recalled this week "And then I got up and I took the cord out of his room because I wanted to see what he was looking at at 1 in the morning And I either looked at it right then or I looked at it when I got back from the gym We were both laying in bed when we heard him leave.” School administrators said Macin was never at school that day His parents reported him missing that evening after school was over and he did not return A lot of people think Macin was doing really well until his father came home and then he flipped out A search of Macin’s room revealed he did not take any personal items with him His wallet was found in a desk drawer in his room she discovered a three page handwritten letter from Macin stating he did not want to live any longer Macin berated Tracey and Darrin,” according to a search warrant affidavit Investigators searched Macin’s laptop and found “internet artifacts for an extensive amount of anime When I searched Macin’s laptop for deleted content I found a word document that talked about Macin trying to kill himself I found searches for anime pornography,” a 2016 warrant states The Smiths told police that Macin had attempted suicide before due to depression while the family lived in Canada Darrin Smith told the Deseret News that in the weeks leading up to Macin's disappearance he was trying to prevent his son from falling back into the depression he was in when he attempted suicide in Canada "A lot of people think Macin was doing really well until his father came home and then he flipped out "Macin was consistently getting worse by going in his room all day So I was concerned that he was going to … it had to turn around,” he said "It wasn’t that I am this mean father that was going to come home and set him straight I was worried about him that he was falling into the same traps that led him to try and commit suicide before." police have served numerous warrants seeking information from cellphones They have tracked down possible sightings in several states that turned out to not be Macin we have researched every lead that we’ve been given but no one is actively pursuing anything,” Atkin said "We’re looking at all aspects of what possibly could have happened to Macin Our job as police officers is to find out what happened to him and not narrow it down to one thing,” she continued "I think it’s a difficult case and frustrating The part of the timeline that has raised the most questions during the investigation revolves around Darrin Smith's trip to VASA Fitness on the morning Macin disappeared A search warrant from December of 2016 says that after Macin reportedly left for school Darrin Smith’s membership card was used to check in at VASA Fitness at 7:45 a.m Macin’s bus was scheduled to pick him up at 7:41 a.m. The Smiths lived about 10 minutes away from the gym Atkin admits there is a "little bit" of a discrepancy in the timeline between when the parents said they heard Macin leave the house The Smiths said they learned of the VASA discrepancy last year when Darrin Smith was questioned for hours by St "I don’t understand what the discrepancy would even mean," Darrin Smith said raising the possibility that VASA's time stamp could have been inaccurate why wouldn't they believe his wife was as well Tracey Smith said at the time Darrin Smith went to the gym no one knew that their son would not return that afternoon and that it would turn into a nationally publicized investigation So knowing exact times was not something they were paying attention to We’re not thinking this is going to be sealed in stone because you don’t think you’re a suspect when you’re giving information 'This is what went on that morning,'” she said Do I think it’s a deal breaker or something that’s going to break the case I think it’s a guy who just went to the gym after his son went to school." George police decided to track Macin's father was because he was allegedly giving inconsistent statements and statements that raised red flags Police spoke with a retired police detective — a member of the Red Rock Search and Rescue group that had assisted in searches for Macin — about the conversations he had with Macin’s father He said the father “had specifically told them he had never seen/heard Macin on the morning he ran away Darrin agreed Macin could have gone missing during the night,” a warrant states Police also noted that during large-scale searches for Macin on Sept “neither Tracey or Darrin called or showed up to check in on the progress of the search despite special accommodations being made for Tracey and Darrin on scene … (The search and rescue member) advised this was not typical behavior exhibited by parents and family of a missing person.” video shot by KSL-TV of the search during those two days shows the parents huddled together in a blanket with a group of volunteers The Smiths say they were at the search and other searches they say they were told by the head of the search operation not to participate "I don’t want you to be the one that finds Macin," Tracey Smith said they were told "We were instructed not to go out." who were interviewed separately for this article believe this person with the volunteer rescue organization — whom Tracey Smith said she did not want to give "name recognition" — was an attention-seeker who came into the case believing he already knew what happened ‘The parents do not search for the child.’ He says we have a mobile home that you sit in there and you wait while everybody goes out and search So we showed up to the search in the morning and I said ‘I don’t want to sit here,’ so I went home I went home and cried the whole time that they were searching And then (the search and rescue member) comes on there and says you couldn’t stop me from searching for my son.’ And I was told "I feel like he came in to the case with a bias and a scenario already written out,” Tracey Smith added George police started treating them differently because of information from that man with regards to how they were treating us and how we were talked to and the support that after a while just kind of became non-existent,” Tracey Smith said "When I found out what some people were saying I want to take a lie detector test 'cause I want to prove I had nothing to do with it.' I was also the one that called up police and said I want to sit down with you because there’s a lot of things that have been going around and I want to clarify them,'" Darrin Smith said "I called them up 'cause I heard some discrepancies and I sat down with them for four hours Because I didn’t want there to be any discrepancies I think I tried really hard to make sure there weren’t any inconsistencies." George police arranged for him to take a polygraph test with an independent contractor and what (the person giving the test) told her is that I passed,” he said Smith said he also took a second lie detector test with investigators at the St Atkin emphasized Wednesday that both Darrin and Tracey Smith have been very cooperative with police George detective investigating the case wrote in the December 2016 warrant — filed a year and three months after Macin went missing — that “neither Tracey nor Darrin has ever called me to check on the status of the case since Macin was initially listed as a runaway on 9/1/2015 I have also not heard from any of Macin’s siblings regarding the search or status of Macin’s case.” and the fact Darrin Smith was going off on his own to conduct searches the detective sought to have the GPS tracker placed on his truck "Because then they could tell how many times I went out searching for my own son on my own I definitely wouldn’t be out searching for him by myself so they have record of all the places I went and all the hours I spent searching for him "As far as me being investigated for homicide I just don’t understand what they could be thinking I was the one who called police the night he didn’t come home I was the one who invited them into my home to search for him I’ve done everything I could to try and find Macin and help the police So I don’t understand how they could think that." Tracey Smith said once they talked to police they were able to give explanations for all of the alleged inconsistencies in their statements she said she texted and emailed the lead detective regularly but did not want to call her to bother her she assumed if there was significant new information in the case When Darrin Smith was interviewed by police last year "He was able to just explain them as very logical and nothing to be suspicious about,” she said But I can attest to you that Darrin is not a sociopath He very much has a conscience and he’s a good dad And it’s just been incredible the criticism It’s like they’re blaming a family that has been traumatized And they can investigate for the rest of our lives they’re not going to find anything or malice in the family." She hopes that between the lie detector tests and the extensive interview with her former husband that police now have enough information “to clear us completely." The search warrants note that "due to the lack of any (credible) tips and sightings of Macin since his disappearance … and the suicide notes found on his laptop and in his room But police are no closer to knowing what happened to Macin Even though the case is still considered active detectives are only investigating new tips that they receive Even Darrin Smith is at a loss for what happened "I have no idea what happened to Macin we’re going to find him close by,'” he said I started thinking maybe something horrible happened to him." The Smiths divorced in May 2018 after more than 30 years of marriage Tracey Smith still lives in Washington County while Darrin Smith lives in Salt Lake County they conducted what they called their last search for Macin But Tracey Smith said they will never give up on Macin and she is thankful for those who continue looking "I am a mother who has been humbled to her very core I’m continually amazed at the people who show up and give their time,” she said "We have people who show up and continue to support us when we feel like things are drying up and we can’t go on anymore.” Smith also hopes that if anything good has come from her son's disappearance George police have improved how they have investigated missing persons cases since Macin's disappearance She believes police missed opportunities to collect evidence in the early part of the investigation because of inexperience she and her then-husband didn't know what to do and weren't getting any guidance from any authorities "We really felt alone at the get-go,” she said And I know we have been criticized a lot for and this within the first couple of days?’ Well And also you’re not sure if your teen’s going to walk in the door that night or the next morning "You can’t predict that it would go on days and days and months sit on a memorial bench made in honor of the missing teen L-R: Macin Smith’s grandmother and mother sit on a memorial bench made in honor of the missing teen Kaitlyn Wilson speaks at the unveiling of a memorial bench made in honor of Macin Smith at Crimson Ridge Park helps unveil a memorial bench made in honor of Macin Smith File photo of Macin Smith’s school portrait Supporters of Macin Smith gather at the unveiling of a memorial bench made in honor of the missing teen the teen who went missing over three years ago a physical representation of the enduring effort of an entire community committed to finding him families and supporters of Smith gathered at the newly constructed Crimson Ridge Park on 3000 […] families and supporters of Smith gathered at the newly constructed Crimson Ridge Park on 3000 East at 5:15 p.m to witness the unveiling of a custom-made memorial bench in honor of Smith The specially designed metal bench features a bright-eyed a depiction of what he looked like as a 17-year-old when he went missing from his St After Smith left his home that morning and never returned an extensive search effort was launched with supporters from across the country His disappearance has since garnered international attention as police, news media and an abundance of supporters continue to look for clues. The investigation into Macin's disappearance George Police Department and with assistance from other agencies and individuals in the area has yielded some information Bratt-Smith may have never known about her son.  an administrator on the Facebook group "Help Find Macin Smith," said she looked into an iCloud back-up of Macin's devices and uncovered song lyrics he had written that Bratt-Smith had never seen before.  "There were pages and pages of poems and song lyrics I was so happy to uncover for (Bratt-Smith)," Johnson said.  Macin enjoyed video games and board games with his family He's smart and creative and was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bratt-Smith said Macin spoke to their congregation just two weeks before his disappearance.  off the cuff with no preparation and had the whole congregation laughing," Bratt-Smith recalled.  But things haven't always been easy for Macin.  Macin experienced some bullying during his pre-teen years due to a mild speech impediment and he presented with symptoms of depression He was close with his mother and most of his six brothers and sisters.  After a dispute with his father over using his electronic devices Macin attempted to run away while the Smiths were living in Canada in 2013; however Macin returned home two hours after he had fled the residence.  Bratt-Smith described Macin's mental health status as "suffering in silence," and there were some warning signs that things weren't "right" with him What Macin's parents first called self-observing introverted behavior evolved into some worrisome patterns when he chose to stay home more than they would have wanted.  "I think every parent wants their kids to be engaged in a peer group and be social but his preference was to be home with us and do his own thing," Bratt-Smith said.  Bratt-Smith said she could relate to Macin on a deep level and shortly before his disappearance the two had been discussing his senior year and a trip to Disneyland that was scheduled upon graduation Other than a note addressed to his parents Bratt-Smith found in his wallet several days after he disappeared Macin left no clues to help SGPD detectives in their investigation.  What's puzzling to investigators is the simple bare-bones nature of Macin's case which the Smith family has chosen to keep private, described inner turmoil he felt and ended with two words that stood out to Bratt-Smith: "I'm done."  SGPD detectives and the Smith family have not ruled out suicide but with 14 searches under their belts many of which occurred in the desert area surrounding Macin's home the likelihood of that scenario is becoming less and less believable for Bratt-Smith "For him to take off and for us not to be able to find a body yet .. a high percent are found in the perimeter of their home," Bratt-Smith said.  several decomposed human remains have been found in Southern Utah within recent months which has led officials to focus Macin's case in the direction of recovering bodies rather than live leads.  "The most recent thing has been these bodies," Bratt-Smith said "We haven't had any live leads recently that I can even think of."  and anyone else who may have information leading to his whereabouts have been interviewed by SGPD His electronic devices and online accounts have been searched and are being monitored by police.  Nearly every box in Macin's case has been checked Choli Ence said she's had multiple people call in to report specific details about a homeless person or stranger on the street that leads them to believe they've seen Macin including his extraordinary height of 6'4" and his slight speech impediment.  "We're told to look at any tip," Ence said "We have our own perceptions and view people differently There's different features of Macin that others key in on and see in people." Ence said there's not much to follow up on and a lot of the tips contradict each other One of the most important things is to look for consistency.  "If people think they have information, I'd rather have it be able to follow up on it versus them never reporting it," Ence said. "It seems unsubstantial to them but maybe that's the missing piece."  "I believe wholeheartedly it's going to be that one person," Bratt-Smith said "I will take what we can get and be grateful for it." Macin's case has been featured on a popular daytime television show on the Investigation Discovery Channel "Disappeared." Bratt-Smith said every time it airs Bratt-Smith described a phenomena called "piggy-backing" that happens when a lead is reported in a specific area.  "I feel like publicity regardless of whether it turns out to be valid or not is good for Macin," Bratt-Smith said the Smiths need that closure," Johnson said.  What began as a small Facebook page established to organize local searches and get Macin's story to the forefront of locals' minds has turned into a massive group that boasts of more than 50,700 members The page is full of messages from Bratt-Smith that she writes as a public diary of sorts sharing details and photos of Macin's upbringing Macin's Army members frequently share tips and potential leads they come across.  also works to organize its members and equip them with materials such as BOLO fliers (be on the lookout) and more with the basic details about Macin's case in order to inform the most people they can.  "I think we're getting more creative as far as where donations can go," Bratt-Smith said adding that the campaign has decided to allocate funds to mobile billboards next.  The troupe is planning to change their Facebook profile pictures to Macin's photo or a Macin's army graphic as a form of a cyber push to bring more awareness to his case on the anniversary of his disappearance.  online advertisements and other basic search efforts have been supplemented by more odd-ball ideas like painting rocks and leaving them on trails or writing #MacinsArmy on dollar bills.  If there's an event Macin might be interested in attending like a Comic Con or convention that matches his interests Johnson will rally people in the army who live in that area and ask them to carry out specific duties.  "It's honestly probably 70 percent behind-the-scenes work and 30 percent in front of the public eye," Johnson said "It's where I'm contacting agencies and making calls establishing those contacts because it's not what you know; it's who you know." Johnson said the page receives around 10 unique leads per week along with many repeats perhaps one when the "Disappeared" episode has aired again Johnson said she serves as a filter on the page for SGPD and Bratt-Smith "Only one or two posts out of 1,000 end up going to (Bratt-Smith)," Johnson said Since Macin's case presents with very few facts is that he's not staying away of his own choice," Johnson said "From what I know of Macin is that he wouldn't do this and intentionally stay away I think he's alive and he needs us."  How 2 years changes a family Living in a world without knowing the welfare of one of her children was something Bratt-Smith never expected she'd live through "We have to get up everyday with it being our new normal," Bratt-Smith said.  The drive to find a missing family will always be there but the most difficult part for the Smith family has been not knowing how long they'll have to live without a resolution.  Bratt-Smith said she and her husband were looking for two different things during search efforts around the time Macin had been missing for one year Darren Smith was looking for a body while she was looking for a walking One possibility Bratt-Smith said is that Macin is being held in a "compromising position," where perhaps the worst has happened "Perhaps he got involved with some very bad people and they didn't want to get caught and did something illegal," Bratt-Smith said.  "Whether we find him tomorrow or further down the line we are going to find him," Johnson said. "That's a fact." Anyone who has information leading to Macin's return home is instructed to contact SGPD at 435-627-4300. There is a $10,000 reward for any information regarding his whereabouts. Tracey Bratt-Smith recalls a conversation she had with her son "I remember him saying if he ever ran away it would be to California," Tracey reminisced She said she told him she hoped he wouldn't run away you think of these conversations as being insignificant more than 660 miles away from his hometown according to some civilians who claim to have seen him in that area At least three people have claimed they've spotted Macin who went missing at age 17 in September 2015 in the Natomas (northwestern) area of Sacramento None of the individuals who said they saw Macin, now 18-years-old, took photos, so it's still unknown whether or not he's actually in the area. However, authorities in Sacramento have been pursuing every lead, and even local news organizations in the area have helped spread the word. On Twitter, the Sacramento Fire Department tweeted, "Please be on the lookout for this missing young man from Utah," along with a photo of Macin The potential sightings have been reported on the "Help Find Macin Smith" Facebook group which has more than 25,000 members and is administrated mostly by Tracey and other family members Tracey refers to the group as "Macin's Army." Tracey said she was "cautious" upon hearing her son might be just a couple of states away Since most of the Californians are relatively new to the Facebook group more of them are likely to find someone who matches Macin's description because "if you're looking for something you're going to find something," Tracey said In addition to the three possible sightings She told her that she interacted with a boy in August The woman told Tracey the boy she spoke to was "huge and sweet." The boy approached her on the street "What stuck out to her was that it was in Sacramento in the summer The woman told Tracey that she only had a $20 bill The young man told the woman he didn't want to take more than he needed Tracey said she isn't 100 percent on board that the doppelganger was Macin since it's hard to tell solely from a stranger's description but she said it does provide her further evidence and hope that he may be alive "It just seems too coincidental that we have three totally unrelated people one who didn’t even know about Macin prior to her interaction with him to say they saw my son in this specific area," Tracey said I have to look at that and be serious about it because it’s never happened before Closure is the ultimate thing the Smith family seeks I think people get the wrong idea that we want to coerce him," Tracey said "They think that he obviously doesn't want to come home did he go and harm himself and do something permanent we hope he's doing well and he's thriving." His parents found a vague goodbye note in his wallet two weeks after his disappearance Although it contained no clues to his whereabouts Tracey said it was a "note of intent of harming himself," detailing frustration and feeling like he wasn't heard or appreciated Red Rock Search and Rescue has continued its involvement in the case and it conducted a couple of searches in November There is a $10,000 reward for any information leading to Macin's whereabouts Handfuls of posts on the Facebook group detail strangers' hopes that Macin will come home some even claiming they've had dreams that "today is the day." The group has also brainstormed ideas together and some have posted altered images of Macin that show what he might look like with long facial hair Tracey said Macin's Army is literally what's kept her going "It's knowing that we're not alone," she said when we were going door-to-door and realized how many people weren't aware and didn't know his story even in our own area But the recent potential sightings have instilled renewed hope in Tracey and her husband Shortly after the one-year anniversary of Macin's disappearance Tracey said she looks for a walking teenage boy while Darren looks for a body "Darren had a dream this week that Macin came home "That was before he was aware of the recent activity This are happening subconsciously with him The events of this week have recharged my optimism and renewed my hope that he's possibly alive." family is grieving their missing son more than three years after his disappearance but a park bench dedicated in his name is helping provide some closure and hope.  Since his disappearance multiple searches involving several agencies and hundreds of volunteers have led to no concrete clues or evidence of his whereabouts.  TIMELINE: Alleged events surrounding Macin Smith's disappearance community members and supporters of the effort to "bring him home" gathered at Crimson Ridge Park located at 3000 Crimson Ridge Drive, for a short program and dedication of the park bench Monday evening The metal bench was donated to the Smith family by a local business The bench's blue color is also significant because, not only is it Macin's favorite color, but it is the color the Facebook group "Help Find Macin Smith" has adopted for branding and outreach purposes.  said it was the most beautiful bench she has ever seen.  "This is a gift that I couldn't possibly express how much this means to us as we go forward and find some peace and joy in our lives," Smith said as far as meaning to my family and any of Macin's loved ones This is an amazing gift that will be utilized through our lifetimes."  Smith said she provided the dates and phrase on the bench but she didn't know what the overall concept would look like in the end The idea to memorialize Macin in a respectful way was born around the time his family and community members last searched for him in September "My girlfriend suggested we might want to do something but doing something that can provide a little more closure," Smith said one of the administrators of the Find Macin Smith Facebook page said she hopes the bench is a place for people to come and think about him "It's hard that we're here for this situation but it's nice that we gathered everyone who loves Macin so much and cares for him," Wilson said.  Macin's family has been open about his struggles with depression He was shy, and  while he tried to manage some symptoms of depression in his teen years Smith previously told The Spectrum & Daily News he was "suffering in silence."  said his team wanted to create somewhere Smith could visit and visit her son.  "We also wanted it to be a place for other people who are fighting with what Macin was dealing with," DuCrest said.  Smith emphasized the bench does not symbolize finality or that they are "giving up" on finding his whereabouts.  "I'm still hopeful that someday I'll get that call I'm hoping that those who feel alone now have something to connect with and know that they aren't alone in their struggles Referencing the date engraved on the bench Smith said that date signifies the day Macin knew he wasn't alone referencing the thousands of followers on Facebook who collectively call themselves "Macin's Army."  "I guess initially I was thinking I'm never going to give up looking for my boy," Smith said "I don't want to. It's a constant effort to keep getting back up again but I'm going to show Macin that we'll keep getting back up."  Macin Smith: an unsolved missing person case 3 years without Macin Smith: Community gearing up for search to find clues, human organizer and administrator of the Help Find Macin Smith Facebook page "Our main goal right now is to get more volunteers," Martin said The two locations were hand-picked by Macin's mother weather conditions at the time of his disappearance and the fact that they've yet to search these specific areas several rain showers caused flooding in St which is why there's a focus on searching along the Virgin River in Bloomington and down toward Sun River.  "He may have gotten washed away," Martin said Volunteers are searching along the wash in Little Valley because it's very close to Macin's home Call her at 435-674-6214 Two years and seven months after he left his St. George home, the one thing known to be true about Macin Smith's disappearance is that he was never seen or heard from again Smith — who went missing when he was a 17-year-old high school student — is now 20 years old and his whereabouts remain unknown among his family police detectives and the community at large.  Perhaps the most perplexing aspects of Smith's case are that he seemingly left with the clothes on his back his electronics have given little information to detectives and there have been zero confirmed sightings of him.  Smith's story has reached the hearts and minds of citizens across the entire United States. The Facebook group "Help Find Macin Smith" has reached more than 55,700 members and his family and investigators say his episode on the Discovery Channel's "Disappeared" television show sparks interest from viewers across the nation who have never met Smith or even visited Southern Utah.  Although detectives recently found new information to access on Smith's electronics, few developments have been made since the most recent ground search in two locations near St. George was executed, with no direct leads, last October.  his family and investigators are narrowing down what might have happened to Smith on the day he went missing: Sept and they reported hearing the garage door open and close as if he was heading off to catch the bus to school — it was around 7:40 a.m Smith's mother had unplugged the home's internet router sometime after her son was in bed so he wouldn't be tempted to stay up late using his electronics on a school night found Smith using his electronics after his curfew, and confiscated his laptop computer and cell phone Smith's parents relinquished those devices to the St George Police Department after he was reported missing Choli Ence previously told The Spectrum & Daily News very little information to aid the investigation was gleaned from his texts But other helpful information may be on its way according to a video Smith's mother posted on the Facebook group Tracey Bratt-Smith has recently taken a step back from engaging with online users and speaking directly with The Spectrum & Daily News for personal reasons.  "I'm in possession of a hard drive from the police department," Bratt-Smith Said in the video "They downloaded something onto a hard drive and we're in trying to figure out how to get information from that."  Although an initial look into Smith's devices didn't reveal any clue as to where he went When information is deleted from a desktop computer the file can still exist on the device's hard drive some of that electronic information can get re-written or deleted when new information is saved onto that device requiring a separate system to sort and access the information that cannot be found on the device itself.  an administrator of the "Help Find Macin Smith" Facebook group Smith's family and contributors to the investigation have been conducting their own research on the information from the hard drive "We are trying to un-encrypt them to see what we can find out through independent research," Gailey said In addition to sorting through the electronic information Bratt-Smith said in the video she's working with a case manager with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to digitally create a photo of her son that demonstrates what he might look like now that he's 20 years old.  and his brothers and sisters from when they were aged 20 years are combined with Smith's photo from his teenage years.  "They mesh it together and add it to (Smith's) original photo to come up with something that looks like what he looks like now," Bratt-Smith explained in the video post the case still isn't taking any clear direction.  "Unfortunately there really isn't anything to report," Gailey said "We're just hoping that someone knows something and will come forward."  Police detectives and Smith's family receive reports of sightings Gailey said some of the psychics have said Smith is dead.  that he's buried 6-feet under gravel close to his home town "Ninety percent of his doppelgangers are in the California area."  The family has also received tips that Smith was seen in Washington But because there's typically not enough information to follow up on the lead namely a photo or video of the person in question most of these types of tips are ruled out by other means.  The way Gailey sees it is there are two scenarios that seem the most likely: First Smith is being held against his will.  "There's always the possibility that he does not want to be found but I do not believe that's in his nature," she explained "He was a mama's boy and accustomed to a certain lifestyle I personally do not believe he is homeless and simply just not contacting his family."  both of those theories are simply speculation. Nothing — not even the theory that Smith is deceased — has panned out "The only thing that has really changed is that we have been able to rule out a few of the mysteries of potential sightings," Gailey said Shortly before saying "goodbye" to the tens of thousand Facebook users who would perchance see her video Bratt-Smith had one request: Reach out to 20 people in honor of Smith's 20th birthday.  "Reach out a hand of fellowship and love to each other and making sure everyone in your circle has support and love and appreciation," she said." Much to his surprise, he found that both macinsmith.com and macinsarmy.com were available for purchase “I thought, well, macinsarmy.com could not possibly be available there’s 52,000 people on their Facebook (group),” he said The fact that both domain names were still available indicates a lack of interest on the part of those who are supposedly still trying to locate Smith “It just tells me that they’re not looking a close family friend of the Smiths who serves as an administrator for the Macins Army Facebook page says nothing could be further from the truth George News the “Help Find Macin Smith / MacinsArmy” Facebook group which was started years ago by Macin’s uncle Keith Bratt and Macin’s mother Tracey K who said she spends several hours a day operating and administering the Facebook group said she routinely receives submissions and tips from the many hundreds of people that are active on the social media platform Another volunteer runs a related Twitter account based on what the group posts on Facebook Regarding the age-progressed images Oedy sent in Gailey confirmed they didn’t meet admin approval to be posted on the group’s Facebook page his father and brother were unable to really grow facial hair,” she said “It is very unlikely that he would or could ever look like this.” “I feel bad if Bob Oedy felt slighted by this,” Gailey added it’s false advertising to portray Macin in a way that we do not believe he looks.” she said Macin’s family has come to terms with the idea that he is unlikely to still be alive we truly believe we are looking for a body and not an ‘age progression’ Macin,” Gailey said Oedy’s photos were given consideration and followed up on adding that all submissions are thoughtfully evaluated by the group’s administrative team hundreds of people submitting things like this and not everything is going to be acceptable to us This page was started by his uncle and mother and I assist in running it how they choose.” Oedy said his intentions are not to cause harm but to simply help solve the case and find Macin the last thing I want to do is add anybody’s pain,” he said “I just feel like some of these questions have to be answered I think the reason (this case) resonates is because it doesn’t add up.” Both of Oedy’s websites are filled with numerous photos of Macin Smith along with links to previous news stories and television programs He also provides a timeline of events of that fateful Tuesday morning on the first of September 2015 when Macin failed to show up for school at Desert Hills High School A list of 30-plus questions casts a skeptical eye on the various details and circumstances of the case and the people involved “It’s time to take another look at the case and a more aggressive investigation,” Oedy states in the written introduction to the latter video one of the videos prompted an emphatic disclaimer in response from Macin’s Army Twitter account support or recommend these alleged theories claims or statements made by this YouTube video.” Oedy said his amateur research has also had him looking into Macin’s interests in music Oedy said he came across a video taken by a participant at Sabakon Anime Convention in Las Vegas Sept Oedy says he believes one of the convention attendees shown during the video resembles Macin Smith Gailey emphatically dismissed Oedy’s claim and said the tall young man seen in the video wearing a wig and red costume is not Macin Smith “I can absolutely identify that this is not Macin,” she said noting that the man in the screenshot has “a large nose and nostrils Gailey also made no apologies for the Macin’s Army Facebook page being used to share information about other missing persons several people to date have credited the page’s help in successfully finding a loved one “We do not ever want someone else to feel as hopeless and hurt as we do,” Gailey said Even now, five years later, interest remains high in the Macin Smith case, Gailey said, noting that the Investigation Discovery television channel is still airing its episode devoted to the case, titled “The Silent Son.” “That always generates a new crowd,” Gailey said “I actually spend several hours a day working on this cause Most of my days are filled with following up on photos and thoughts that people send me.” we are doing important things in the background,” she said adding that group members conduct small independent searches on a regular basis our desert search generated 110 physical volunteers some who traveled from out of state,” Gailey added referring to a search conducted in September 2019 Despite their markedly different opinions and ideas both Oedy and Gailey appear to share at least one thing in common: a fervent desire to find Macin Smith 4 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds at the time of his disappearance A St. George Police spokesperson confirmed that the Macin Smith case remains active and open. Select an option in the top menu Night Shift and here we set when we want to activate it according to our own preferences, or we select manual activation. If your Mac Night Shift is not supported, you can use the app Flux With the arrival macOS 10.14 Mojave also saw the arrival of Dark Mode transforms your interface Macu to dark colors as it is really better to look at a dark interface at night than a light one You activate the dark mode in System preferences you only need to click on the appearance at the top Dark we currently have to switch between skins manually I hope that in future versions macOS we will see an opportunity that will give us the appearance MacIt automatically adjusts to the current time it is definitely not pleasant when you switch from dark mode to a bright desktop full of bright colors you can take advantage of the new dynamic wallpaper feature Dynamic wallpapers change based on the time of day your desktop will display a light wallpaper Dynamic wallpapers can be set in System preferences Here we move to the column Desktop and saver If you decide to set an image as wallpaper just double-click on it right click and select an option Set desktop image Safari will soon support the option to display websites in dark mode but currently this option is only available in betagreen Safari which strips the web page of ads and all other elements and displays only text with images In case you have macOS If you set a dark theme the reader mode will also be displayed with a dark background You can simply activate the reader by pressing tlačítka in the upper part Safari you can also change the size and style of the text which is located to the right of the URL address so you can use the dark mode of the page directly from YouTube Just click on the top right of the screen your profile icon and activate from the drop-down menu Dark theme I just hate that I have to click on it again on every page and it "flashes brightly".. of course for an appropriate amount of money - increased to incredible levels Apple Mac mini It dates back to 2005 and was the first low-cost model released after Steve Jobs returned to the company It became a kind of affordable entry point into the Apple ecosystem for customers who had deeper pockets or didn't want to invest astronomical amounts in Apple products right away Macintosh The SE/30 from 1989 is one of the best black and white compacts MacintoshIt had a 16 MHz 68030 processor customers could choose between a 40MB and 80MB hard drive The Pismo PowerBook was a computer that managed to raise the bar for other laptops The 200 Pismo PowerBook was one of the best Apple G3 laptops bringing users USB konewhich and Apple's revolutionary FireWire It was released at a time when Apple it wasn't so obsessed with getting rid of all sorts of ports yet The iBook became a kind of iMacem in the world of laptops It stood out from the line of ordinary portable computers primarily for its unusual design but also for the ease with which it could be connected to the Internet It was one of the few at the time to offer Wi-Fi tooneactivity another innovative feature was the ability to automatically "wake up" whenever the user opened the computer openly claimed inspiration from Apple's iconic iPod It was the first time ever that Apple introduced the concept of placing all internal component computers into one single flat panel Iconic ultralight and ultraa thin aluminum laptop taken out of its envelope – who wouldn’t know it The world was a laptop that Apple called it "the thinnest laptop in the world," literally enthusiastic Although MacBook Air did not achieve the performance it offered MacBook Pro has become a very popular work machine in many industries With Unibody iMacI am AppI managed to come up with the perfect recipe for iMac Your all-in-one aluminum unibody iMacy was introduced by the apple company in mid-2007 At that time iMacThey weren't as thin as the ones we know today but the public was thrilled with the innovative design The first PowerBook 100 also contributed to the revolution in the field of portable computers With those Apple has been experimenting for a long time – just look at the above-mentioned Macintosh But the Portable – “7,1” series of PowerBooks brought about a real change and became one of the most important in Apple’s history PowerBooks contributed significantly to Apple’s revenue of $XNUMX billion and thus to one of its most successful financial periods Macintosh II is a great example of how a sequel can bring the original to life "Two" was released three years after the first generation MacintoshIt boasted massive hardware improvements and the option of a color display One of the few—perhaps the only—downsides of the “two” was its high price iMac The G4 came with an incredibly large display for its time It is still considered one of the most beautiful Macs at all: elegant which at the time seemed like a revelation 1998 was the year the world said "hello" to the revolutionary iMacat the G3 iMac The G3 completely changed the way we think about what a computer should look like It was the perfect celebration of Steve Jobs' return to the Applu as well as a demonstration that a personal computer does not necessarily have to be a beige plastic combination of a monitor and a case First place in the top twenty ranking Mache rightfully occupied Macintosh 12K its performance was not particularly impressive Macintosh But the 128K clearly defined Apple's vision for consumer computing Whether it was the graphical user interface or the appealing design the 1984 Apple machine has made an indelible mark on computing history You don't have permission to access the page you requested What is this page? The website you are visiting is protected. For security reasons this page cannot be displayed but over 9 years have passed since 17-year-old Macin Smith vanished from his home in St Macin was a senior at Desert Hills High School When he didn’t come home after school it was discovered that Macin hadn’t attended school that day—or even boarded the bus that morning a style of Japanese animation typically aimed at adults It was common for him to stay up late watching anime on his phone or iPad so his parents usually unplugged the Wi-Fi router at night to encourage him to sleep Darrin took away Macin's phone and iPad they heard Macin getting ready for school as usual The day seemed normal until Macin didn’t return home George Police and filed a missing persons report They initially hoped Macin was just upset about losing his iPad and was "blowing off steam," expecting him to return later Macin left without taking his phone or wallet making his disappearance even more perplexing Macin's mom and aunt found a note tucked into his wallet Although the note hasn’t been fully disclosed to the public it led his mom and aunt to believe he may have committed suicide His mother mentioned that the note stated he was "done." However the meaning of that phrase remains open to interpretation George Police pointed out that most people who intend to commit suicide typically leave a note in a visible place for their family to find The note was also not addressed to anyone specifically a man approached two women asking for change to catch the bus The women gave him change and later learned about Macin Smith's case They both strongly believed that the man they encountered was Macin Smith The man also reportedly had a speech impediment had the women call Macin’s phone to hear his voicemail and they confirmed that the voice matched the man they met at Panda Express the security cameras at Panda Express were not recording during that time with horses and cadaver dogs scouring around 50 square miles around Macin's home in St FEATURED ON 'DISAPPEARED' ON MAX: Macin’s case was featured on an episode of the show "Disappeared," which you can watch on MAX (formerly HBO MAX) mentioned that some people believe he was involved in his son’s disappearance Both of Macin’s parents took polygraph tests George Police have never confirmed whether they passed maintaining that the investigation remains open I started to believe that Macin was no longer alive suspecting that he may have taken his own life With no trace of Macin or his remains within 50 square miles of St I believe there’s a chance he is still alive It seems unlikely that someone would travel far away just to commit suicide The absence of any remains leads me to think he might have left and is living somewhere else But why hasn’t he contacted his mom after all these years Could it be embarrassment or fear of legal consequences but I don’t believe Macin took his own life I think someday we will uncover the truth behind this mysterious cold case in St If you’ve seen Macin Smith please call the St When he didn’t come home after school it was discovered that Macin hadn’t attended school that day—or even boarded the bus that morning MACIN'S L...\nRead More it's been over 8 years since 17 year old Macin Smith disappeared from his St When Macin didn't return home from school it was discovered that Macin didn't go to school Macin was a big fan of Anime, style of Japanese film and television animation It was common for Macin to be up all night watching Anime on his phone or iPad so his parents would usually unplug the wifi router at night time to ensure Macin would actually go to sleep the router was not unplugged and around 1:30am He discovered Macin was in his bed watching Anime took the phone and iPad and told Macin to go to sleep they could hear Macin getting ready for school It felt like a normal day until Macin didn't return home George Police and filed a Missing Persons Report They were thinking (and hoping) that Macin was angry about having his iPad taken and was "blowing off steam" and would return home later Macin didn't take his phone or wallet when he left Macin's mom and Aunt found a note tucked into Macin's wallet That note has never been fully released to the public but it has been stated that his Mom and Aunt believed he had committed suicide His mom mentioned the note said he was "Done" George Police believed MOST people that commit suicide leave the note out for the family to find and don't necessarily hide it for people to see The note was also not written to anyone in particular There have been many people who have claimed to have seen Macin a man approached two women asking them for change to catch the bus The two women both gave him change and he was on his way they learned of the Macin Smith case and were both adamant the man asking for change WAS INDEED Macin Smith They even mentioned that the man had a speech impediment Tracy had the girls call Macin's phone to hear his voice on his voicemail and they confirmed that voice was the one they heard from that man at the Panda Express Panda Express' security cameras were not filming during the time There have been SEVERAL search parties with horses and cadaver dogs searching around 50 square miles of Macin's home in St Which leaves even more questions than answers there was an episode of Disappeared about the Macin Smith case You can watch this show on MAX (formerly HBO) Macin's episode is Season 8 Episode 2 Darrin mentioned that people believe he killed his son Both Macin's parents took a polygraph test George Police never confirmed if they passed or didn't pass and called it an open investigation still I started to believe Macin wasn't alive anymore and that he probably committed suicide With NO SIGN of Macin or his remains within 50 square miles of St It seems strange that someone would go far away to commit suicide would you decide to hitchhike out of town first Would you decide to walk 30 miles away THEN commit suicide I don't believe someone would do that The fact that NO REMAINS of Macin's have been found in the area I believe he got away and is alive somewhere why would Macin not return or call his mom after 8 years Fear of charges being pressed for disappearing But I don't believe Macin took his own life I believe we will someday have answers to this wild cold case here in St Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was in town this weekend for WWE Smackdown at The Delta Center The Rock has been known for his professional wrestling career that dates back to 1996 Many know his catchphrase "Can You Smell What The Rock Is Cookin'!?" Others know him from his acting career where he's reached the highest point of stardom anyone can reach While in the ring at WWE Smackdown at The Delta Center The Rock took the mic and congratulated the crowd in Salt Lake City "The Rock has got some good news to share.. tonight it is official you have broken an in-door attendance record you broke the all-time record for the largest gathering of trailer park trash The Rock has ever seen!" Johnson continued to berate the crowd in Salt Lake "Are you sure you want to boo The Rock finally you and your 50 wives will have a story to tell You'll have a story to tell your 600 inbred grandchildren one day!" You may recognize his name from his VERY St George Famous store/restaurant that's still around today But what gets him on the list of HOTTNESS is a couple things What's hotter than helping our community Karl was Mayor for 12 years (1982-1994) and the city EXPLODED with him at the helm George went from 7-square miles to 60-square miles and 10,000 in population to 50,000 in population Teeth in the 60's were usually like the Spice Girls: They're all different colors The teeth and hairline get Bill on this list with zero questions asked He looks like he just hid a body somewhere on Pine Valley Save some scary but sexy features for the rest of us it's either the best dream you've ever had or the worst nightmare you've ever had made the trek across the plains as a 1-year old baby That's SHOCKING that he even survived George to be one of the first families to ever live here But the biggest reason she's on this list has been her fight with cancer She had her own battle with Breast Cancer and she's come out on top It was VERY COOL and I've loved her ever since She's also used her platform to encourage women to get their annual mammograms https://wchsutah.org/towns/st-george-mayors.php Believe it or not, it's been over 8 years since 17 year old Macin Smith disappeared from his St. George home and never returned.
