"This is my first victory in the Grand Prix, of course I'm over the moon,” said a delighted Wasek, who didn't have the best conditions on either jump but was able to achieve the first major success of his career in a cool and experienced manner. "This was a very important victory for me and for the whole team, we need success. I hope that my jumps in tomorrow's competition will be as good as they were today,” explained Wasek.
Another exclamation mark from the US teamAfter third place at the Grand Prix in Wisla (POL) last week, the US team managed another podium finish today. After Tate Frantz in Wisla, Kevin Bickner made the US/NOR/EST team cheer with third place today.
Bickner had even been in the lead after the first run.“Those were good jumps today and third place feels really good. We are training hard and have good training programs that we are doing. Our team is developing really well and I am confident that we will see more good results from our team in the future,” said a delighted Bickner. In addition to Bickner, the other US athletes also impressed with Andrew Urlaub (8th place), Dean Decker (18th) and youngster Jason Colby in 27th place.
The team from France also performed extremely well. Ari Repellin and Enzo Milesi finished 11th and 12th, Jules Chervet was 16th. Even without a top 10 place, this was an outstanding result for the French team, which is making great strides towards the top of the world under the direction of head coach Nicolas Dessum.
Alex Insam now in the yellow BibIn the overall Grand Prix classification, the Italian Alex Insam managed to leap to the top of the overall Grand Prix standings with 10th place in the daily classification. Insam now leads with 213 points ahead of Stefan Kraft and Marius Lindvik (both 200 points) and Pawel Wasek, who made up 10 places with his stage win and is now in 4th place.
Surprise from SwitzerlandThe team from Switzerland also caused a big surprise. Swiss rider Felix Trunz finished in 5th place in the daily standings. Trunz placed well ahead of his team colleague Simon Ammann, who finished in 24th place today. However, Ammann is also clearly behind in training due to the numerous commitments that the 4-time Olympic champion traditionally has to fulfill over the summer.
The second men's Grand Prix in Rasnov starts on Sunday at 16:00.

I usually do better in winter,” explained the overwhelmed winner

We got on well with the new coaches right from the start and you could see that in the result for the whole team,” said a delighted Malsiner
who is now on the 4th place of the FIS Grand Prix overall ranking
Coach Harry Rodlauer explained after the competition: “The result is also surprising for us
especially because the Slovenian team was very strong here in training yesterday
We worked out our concept with the athletes after training yesterday
but the fact that they could do it so quickly surprised us all
You always need a bit of luck and we had that today with the good jumps
so it worked out in the end,” said a delighted Rodlauer
In addition to the day's winner Lara Malsiner and Annika Sieff in second place
Jessica Malsiner (19th) and Martina Zanitzer (25th) finished in the points for Italy
The best Slovenian in 4th place was Tina Erzar
while World Champion Ema Klinec and overall World Cup winner Nika Prevc finished 7th and 9th for Slovenia

Rasnov is gearing up to bring together individuals passionate about sustainable living for a unique experience
Here it will be hosted the Tiny House Festival – that promises to captivate attendees with its impressive showcase of innovative homes and engaging communal activities
The festival will showcase a variety of tiny homes designed for sustainable living. From DIY constructions to professionally built models, these homes maximize space while minimizing environmental impact. Visitors can explore the homes, learn about their design and construction, and get inspired for their own projects.
Attendees can connect with like-minded individuals and share ideas
Throughout the duration of the three-day event, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the showcased houses, examine the models, and gain insights into the design and construction process. Additionally, they can indulge in eco-friendly products and delectable treats available from food trucks, or choose to support local artisans by purchasing handmade accessories.
the festival’s program encompasses engaging workshops and informative debates focused on renewable energy
These sessions cater to both adults and children
providing valuable knowledge and discussions in these areas
The emergence of the tiny house movement, as it is commonly known, can be traced back to the United States during the financial crisis of 2008/2009. In the midst of a collapsing economy and a series of natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina, many people found themselves without homes, and it became increasingly challenging for young individuals to acquire new ones.
2020·Ski JumpingStefan Kraft won the second FIS World Cup competition in Rasnov (ROU) on Saturday
the Austrian claimed his 20th World Cup win ahead of the two Germans Karl Geiger and Constantin Schmid
26-year-old Stefan Kraft posted jumps of 103 m and 97.5 m and scored 270.3 points
"It was a very cool competition again today
I could further improve my performance compared to yesterday
We analyzed yesterday's jumps and it was always close at the take-off
I knew that Karl was in the lead and I was a bit nervous and felt the pressure because the two of us are fighting for the overall World Cup lead
I had to risk a lot in order to come in ahead of him and it's amazing that it worked out so well for me today"
Stefan Kraft has now equaled the number of wins of another great Austrian ski jumper: Andreas Goldberger also won 20 World Cup in his career
"Now I hope that Stefan will have more wins than me soon"
Karl Geiger came in second today and so it was a successful weekend for him
"I'm very satisfied with the second place today
Both jumps were good and it was a lot of fun
I can jump well on flying hills and on such smaller hills
maybe it's a bit easier for me on a normal hill because I'm very strong at the take-off
it's annoying that I wasn't really lucky when it comes to the wind conditions on the last three weekends
but the jumps were good and I hope I'll have some luck again in the future." In the overall World Cup
Geiger is now 118 points behind Stefan Kraft
today's third place was his first podium in the World Cup
so far two fifth places were his best result
"I didn't expect to finish on the podium today
I thought that I would be able to finish in the Top 10 on the normal hill here
It was a really good day for me and of course
I didn't jump that well in Lahti in the past so maybe I can do better there this year"
who was already looking ahead to the upcoming World Cup weekend in Lahti (FIN)
Three athletes set a new hill record of 103 m today
Gregor Schlierenzauer and Stefan Kraft will now hold the record on the hill in Rasnov until at least the next winter
Dawid Kubacki came in fourth ahead of the two Norwegians Daniel Andre Tande and Marius Lindvik
Willingen-native Stephan Leyhe was seventh
Slovenia's Ziga Jelar finished on a career-best eighth place and confirmed his strong shape
An important step for Severin FreundFor Severin Freund
it was a success to qualify for the final round in his second competition this season
Yesterday Freund narrowly missed the final of the Top 30
today he tied for 29th with Japanese Shohei Tochimoto
as it was always clear that many small steps would be necessary for him to return to the top
Austria's Stefan Kraft leads the overall World Cup with 1433 points
Dawid Kubacki moved up to third with 1067 points
The men's World Cup continues next weekend in Lahti (FIN)
The event on Friday in Lahti is a re-scheduled competition from Ruka
that had to be canceled there due to the strong win on December 1st

2022·Ski JumpingJapan's Ren Nikaido claimed the first big win of his career in the FIS Grand Prix in Rasnov
Nikaido has almost no international experience at the World Cup level so far
but he could show his potential with top results in the Continental Cup recently
The 21-year-old was already jumping very well in training and in the Super Team Event today
before his success in the individual competition
Nikaido also benefited from the fact that compensation points for tailwind wind are newly calculated starting this summer
Bulgaria's Vladimir Zografski was the half-time leader
Nikaido then proved to have strong nerves and posted a great jump
Zografski couldn't keep up with that and ended up third overall
The second place went to Poland's Pawel Wasek
who also showed a strong performance in Rasnov
injured his knee after the landing and was not able to compete in the final round
He was already struggling with knee problems during a training camp in Planica last week. The places four and fifth today went to the two Austrians Manuel Fettner and Daniel Tschofenig
who won the first edition of the Super Team event just two hours earlier (see report below)
The two Poles Kamil Stoch and Dawid Kubacki still share the overall lead in the FIS Grand Prix with 180 points each
Manuel Fettner could not seize the opportunity to take the lead today
but with 150 points he is currently third and still has the chance to win the 2022 Grand Prix in the final competitions in Hinzenbach (AUT) and Klingenthal (GER).Pawel Wasek was able to move up seven places in the overall ranking and is now fourth with 142 points

The two Austrians came in ahead of the teams of Poland (Stefan Hula
it was pretty simple: six good jumps and it worked with the win
we are both satisfied and it was really a lot of fun today
It was a bit more stressful than a normal team competition because there are only two guys on a team and everyone had to make three jumps
it's also really cool because if you are behind after the second round you still have to chance to close the gap and that makes it exciting"
for whom this was the first Grand Prix win of his career
Manuel Fettner claimed his maiden win just four weeks ago in Courchevel
Pawel Wasek and Stefan Hula showed a convincing performance for Poland
they came in 13.6 points behind the Austrians after six jumps
Today's competition was just a first test: "I think it was an exciting test that we can now build on
We will analyze the competition in the coming days and also collect the feedback of the teams before we make a decision about the future of this format
I'm very satisfied with how the competition went today"
FIS Race Director Sandro Pertile explained
The premiere of the Super Team Event was originally planned for Sunday
but due to a forecasted thunderstorm with strong winds on Sunday afternoon it was rescheduled to Saturday
The final competition in Rasnov is the mixed team event on Sunday morning. The Grand Prix then continues in Hinzenbach (AUT) next weekend
