Knauf Insulation has announced the start of production of glass mineral wool at its Târnăveni factory
has invested over 140 million euros in the state-of-the-art production facility to transform the Târnăveni factory into the company’s most advanced technological facility in Central and Eastern Europe
The factory will have the capacity to produce 75,000 tons of glass mineral wool to meet the growing demand of customers in Romania and the entire region

In March 2022, Knauf Insulation officially became the owner of the former Gecsat S.A. mineral wool factory in Târnăveni. In the first phase of the acquisition, completed last year, more than 4 million Euros were invested in modernizing and revamping the existing plant, which the company took over earlier this year, to increase production from 7,000 tonnes per year of mineral wool to 10,000 tonnes.
