Sunday They won 15 of their 18 league matches but three goalless draws meant they missed out on the title by a point. His overwhelming emotion, however, is pride. “In the last few games, all the teams just wanted to score against us, so they were using five or six attackers in the last 25 minutes,” he says. Read more“They knew they’d lost the game but they just wanted to burst the bubble for us there was just a lot of shouting and screaming when we did it Everyone has seen the social media and newspapers all over the world have been calling It’s been a long season but you can see they’re happy and they finally understand what they have done.” Their season is not over yet as they are competing for promotion via the playoffs and have already come through the first round – winning 8-2 on aggregate finally conceding – and they are halfway through a two-leg promotion/relegation decider against Strövelstorps GoIF/IF Salamis The first leg ended 1-1 and the second leg takes place on Sunday Johansson says: “We’re too good for division four so we need to go to division three to develop the players That is another unusual aspect to Ängelholm’s achievements. They are in their first season after rebuilding in the bottom tier with a new squad, having previously played at a higher level before losing players to other clubs. “It’s a young team,” Johansson says. “They’re only 15-17 years old and it’s the first senior season. I’m really surprised that we did this well. I couldn’t dream of it. They have had an amazing journey.” Those youngsters include the 17-year-old goalkeeper Nellie Bengtsson, who played the entire league campaign without conceding. She told the Swedish newspaper Helsingborgs Dagblad: “It is quite difficult to take in what is happening right now. It is crazy that we have received so much attention. That is not something we thought would happen. “It all started with someone seeing a video on TikTok that she put in our group chat. Then we’ve seen posts on Instagram and other places. It is great that we managed to go through the season without letting in a goal. If you think about it, it is quite easy to concede. One mistake is enough and the ball goes in.” Bengtsson has been learning from the club’s goalkeeper coach, Matt Pyzdrowski, who played for the American clubs Chicago Fire Premier and Portland Timbers, as well as for Ängelholm’s men’s team. Bengtsson saved a penalty in the campaign and Johansson recalls her tipping one effort on to the crossbar when he had been certain their clean streak was about to end. “Nellie has done some incredible saves. She’ll develop into a really good goalkeeper.” Free weekly newsletterNo topic is too small or too big for us to cover as we deliver a twice-weekly roundup of the wonderful world of women’s football Ljungbyheds IF let in 14 goals but scored significantly more than Ängelholm and the only time they dropped points was in their games against Ängelholm who also drew 0-0 twice with third-placed Västra Karups FK “We beat them [Ljungbyheds IF] 1-0 and then we played away [in August] and they parked the bus “After that game we were disappointed because we knew they were probably going to win the rest of their games let’s go for keeping the zero intact and not losing’ The girls really liked that idea and after that we just fought like hell.” The club’s men’s team are coached by the former Wigan Groningen and Sweden centre-back Andreas Granqvist who Johansson says has been a big help to him adding to the women’s team’s playing style that has ensured all their shutouts: “The secret is how we want to play football and keeping the ball under pressure on the opponents’ side So it’s been really hard for teams to even get a goalscoring chance.” Oliver Kapanen started his SHL career a bit sluggish as he adapted from his time in NHL with the Montreal Canadines This led to a break up of what was supposed to be one of the top lines the line is back together and it will be interesting to see if they can find the chemistry we all expected them to have at the start of the season Hållander and Dahlén are the top two scorers on the Timrå this season After having watched Timrå’s top line for 20 minutes I am reminded of Kapanen’s line last year There are quite a few similarities: Kapanen plays centre in the defensive zone but defers to the other players on the offensive side of the game He often takes the position at the offensive blue line wall to help out with zone entries and when the play is in the offensive zone Kapanen goes hard to the net and looking for quick shots or rebounds letting the others run the possession game and drive play he wasn’t in the wrong position once Timrå didn’t get a power play in the game but past viewings show that Kapanen is the net-front presence with the advantage Kapanen was in high spirits after the game when he met up with me starting off with a laugh and “I knew you’d be here today.” It was something that made the interview a bit more informal than normal an example is when he described his breakaway goal as “I panicked and I tried to do something One reader pointed out to me that Kapanen sometimes switches sides in the face off circle using a backhand draw sometimes and forward draw other times There seems to be no pattern with it and Kapanen explains it as “it’s usually on my weak side When I first saw it in Liiga last season I was like ‘what is that kid doing.’ It was pretty shocking Kapanen is scoring at a pace not really seen from him before At the moment he has 25 (12G-13A) points in 26 games He is close to a point-per-game player in a league that isn’t known for its scoring and especially with a lot of the points coming at five-on-five play Kapanen was honest as he explained what has changed “Just the overall game,” he said “The start was pretty hard and I was struggling a little bit with my own game Now I am getting used to it and structural wise I know what to do I can just focus on the strategy of things and that is a safety net The legs are starting to feel good and finding chemistry with my line-mates.” When asked about the similarity between the lines of last year and this year Kapanen answers “It’s a big part of today’s hockey I say that if you are not the first in the zone someone else has to do that job I think it’s really good that we can trust each other to do that I feel so much confident doing that.” When I speak with Timrå’s coach Olli Jokinen after the game he praises his young player “He’s been our key guy since he came back and so I’m not surprised I think as a coach the expectations are higher and higher all the time and he’s a good kid “We continue to want him to be better without the puck hard player to play against because for a young player when he goes to NHL that’s the role he is going have When you go to the NHL you either have to be a big time scorer as in a first-round pick but if you’re a player like Oliver that wasn’t a first-round pick… Coaches like that 200 foot game that you can play both ends and you can play with the puck but you can also defend and he’s been taking good steps this year.” not just as a player but as a coach and as scholar “He has good company and Hållander is an unbelievable player,” Jokinen continued “He’s definitely playing in the wrong league right now He’s been to the NHL but to me he’s the best player in this league and he’s definitely been an MVP for us.” What does Kapanen learn from playing with Hållander and Dahlén I think with Hållander as an example it’s his heavy stick Oliver is kind of trying to do the same things but then at the same time both of them can be down low as one helping to be out Dahlén is obviously the huge offensive side of things We have certain requirements without the puck and he’s been really buying in and improving I think they have that good inner competition in the extra practices They’re competing against each other; who scores more goals When we do the individual training they have high standards so they keep demanding more from each other.” Kapanen’s offensive production is also a standout for his coach “It’s very impressive actually because this is a tough league To get points because there’s no specialty teams whatsoever in this league there was only one penalty and that was too many men on the ice and I found four or five penalties for both teams easily The games are kind of low scoring games so there’s a lot of five on five It’s not like in [the] NHL where you get a wide entry from the blue line and you get one step in the middle you’re in a good scoring chance over here you’re too far off to score so it’s impressive.” The one question is if Kapanen can play centre in the NHL and that question still lingers in my mind The few scouts that I have spoken with say the same thing and think the future in the NHL is probably on the wing for Kapanen You can hear my comments and reflections from during the game and then the full interviews with Oliver Kapanen (starts at around 7:30) and Olli Jokinen in the podcast below: October 2024] – Construction has officially begun on Sweden’s largest in-store farm at ICA Maxi Ängelholm the home squad as he rifled in a wrister off an odd-man rush with 6:47 to play in the middle frame and Jakob Ihs Wozniak added another on a second-chance opportunity to make it 5-0 after 40 minutes. earn a place in the CHL Though their roots can be traced back as early as 1921 Rögle Ängelholm didn’t officially form as a bandy club until 1932 The team took home their first bandy title in a regional cup 16 years later in the spring of 1948 but their history has been checkered with successes and failures sice Since the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) was formed in 1975 they have continued to teeter-totter between Sweden’s top leagues ever After being relegated to Sweden’s second-highest league in 2013, the club regained their position in the SHL in 2015 where they have remained since This season they topped their previous best finish Cam Abbott was hired on mid-season to take over head coaching duties the former Rögle winger split his brief playing career between the North American and European leagues He spent the majority of his time in the Swedish Hockey League where he skated for six seasons – one with Rögle and five with Luleå including playing with the latter during the inaugural 2014/15 CHL season where they lifted the European Trophy Abbott understands what it takes to win and what it means to the fans: “It allows our great fans to share a new experience supporting our team as we compete against new opponents.” To win Rögle must compete at the top of their game as some of these opponents boast impressive resumes from their time in the CHL Success has been synonymous with Swedish teams in the CHL; look no further than the Frölunda Indians who boast four CHL titles in six appearances Skellefteå have played in every season save for the 2017/18 campaign while both Luleå and Färjestad have participated in four seasons each. Regardless of who Rögle plays Abbot believes facing fresh competitors and their varied playing styles “will prove a valuable experience for our coaches and players.” He also sees it as “a fun challenge to start our journey as a group during a new season.” Maintaining this mindset could prove beneficial for Abbott and company as they set their sights on fall we’re excited to see Rögle Ängelholm in action and hope they can continue Sweden’s trend of strong international play New additions such as former Frölunda netminder Gustafsson accumulated 3 CHL championships during his time with the Indians and sports the experience needed to compete at this level Another name worth noting is Vancouver Canucks prospect and two-time winner of Goal of the Year Sweden is already stunning fans in the SHL and looks to be a pivotal part of Rögle’s future going forward this new chapter in Rögle’s history isn’t just about highlighting the team’s top talent it’s also about “showcasing Ängelholm and our club as a terrific place to live and play.” The turnkey contract for the double-track railway development on the development of the double-track stretch Ängelholm-Maria station including the technical areas of bank construction Expanding the entire West Coast line to double tracks will enable trains to run more frequently and with shorter travel times “We are proud to be part of such a large infrastructure project The new double-track railway will make it easier to commute as a great deal of goods currently transported by road can be transferred to railway transport instead,” says Lisa Kullendorff “We are pleased to have been entrusted with the development of another important stretch of the West Coast line together with the Swedish Transport Administration and our partners It is an exciting project including a wide range of technical disciplines and once completed it will contribute to a better infrastructure,” says Kenneth Wahlqvist The redevelopment will also mean increased safety for pedestrians and cyclists as the level crossings where roads and railways meet will be replaced by grade-separated The planning period is estimated to cover the next two years We are 17,000 devoted experts within the fields of infrastructure operating across the world to create sustainable solutions for future generations The construction and installation of the very first in-store farm in south of Sweden and in the Scania (Skåne) province is sealed It is Ica Maxi Ängelholm that has its sight set on becoming self-sufficient in case of leafy greens and herb besides being able to offer its customers an exciting holistic shopping experience Ica Maxi Ängelholm completed a major renovation that resulted in a completely brand-new and modern store Among other things such as new cooling devices wider aisles and even a broader assortment they have a larger fruit and vegetable department that is ready to host an exciting new project They are taking another leap forward with investing in their own in-store farming unit from Swegreen – We strive to offer a range of locally produced alternatives and sustainable products to the best of our capacity With Swegreen's ‘farming as a service’ solution we had the opportunity to have ambitions of providing our customers with what they desire on top of an exciting shopping experience The fact that they will be able to shop the crops and vegetables that grow in the store and just behind a glass wall feels sensational!’ says Maxi Ängelholm’s store manager Sebastian Damréus Sebastian and his co-workers had heard of hydroponic growing technique earlier but were pleasantly surprised and fascinated when they came across what Swegreen has to offer – We were totally surprised that Swegreen's growing solution could give us the opportunity to grow so much in just 60 square meters The fact that it also produces greens that both tastes better and are more nutritious than traditionally grown alternatives is obviously a big plus Add to that the whole sustainability aspect and we felt that this is something we needed to investigate more closely A decision which in its own turn led to Ica Maxi Ängelholm signing a contract to obtain Swegreen’s current largest growing platform ‘Freja’ Ica Maxi Ängelholm will be able to grow and harvest up to 450 crops per day – Although the climate here in south of Sweden is somewhat favorable today we are completely dependent on imported fresh vegetables and crops’ Sebastian laughs and continues ‘Something that we could decrease significantly now that we will grow our own greens and herbs It is of essence to be able to contribute to max our sustainability with everything from reduced CO2 emissions to growing in a completely controlled and circular system that has a minimal environmental impact’ – We don't have a date set today but will sit down soon and plan for the installation We are glad and proud to be involved in establishing Skåne's first in-store farm hope that more and more could see all the benefits of such systems inside retail stores and restaurants and join us in a movement towards a more hyper-local food system’ Liiga side Tappara Tampere became our second Finalists after a convincing 3-0 win over Red Bull Munich on Tuesday night That means they will face already qualified Rögle Ängelholm in the all-or-nothing battle for the European Trophy on 1 March at 19:00 CET in the Catena Arena in Ängelholm This will be the first time either team will play in a CHL Final who have six seasons of pan-European hockey under their belt could have a slight advantage over newcomers Rögle due to their experience On the other hand, Rögle have scored more goals so far this season and boast a better win percentage compared to their Finnish rivals Tune in regularly for all our content leading up to the big night.  We are on Instagram, Facebook and 11-2 record and beating Tappara Tampere 2-1 in the Final The team from Ängelholm has been playing in the country's top flight consistently since 2015/16 and recorded their highest-ever finish of third at the end of the 2019/20 season - beating their previous high of sixth in 1994 The club was founded in 1932 as a bandy team which is why they're known as Rögle BK (for 'Bandyklubb') The team's current Head Coach Cam Abbott and his twin brother Chris Abbott (who is Rögle's General Manager) are the only two people to have won the CHL both as players and coaches The duo first became CHL Champions during their time with Luleå (2014/15 CHL Champions) and won their second CHL as coaches in 2021/22 Rögle Ängelholm beat Tappara Tampere for the second time in a row this week to take a one-goal lead into the Return Game of their Quarter-Finals series in the Champions Hockey League The Swedes scored three in the first half of the game before a third-period comeback by the reigning Liiga champions seriously threatened their win The 2022 CHL Champions wasted no time in getting into the game - just over two minutes in, Oskar Pettersson broke to deadlock to score the first goal of the game, before Linus Sandin added the second only a couple of minutes later By the midway point of the game, Rögle were 3-0 up, thanks to an Oskar Stål Lyrenäs goal in the second period.  "I think we played a good game overall," summarised Anton Bengtsson after the game "we played two great periods and headed into the third period with a three-goal lead."  "Then I think we stopped playing like we did before, they stepped up their game too and scored on their chances but we have a 3-2 lead going into the Return Game." scoring two goals in four minutes to get within one goal of tying the series. But the 2022 CHL Champions were able to hold back the Finns to maintain their one-goal lead in the series "I think the main issue was us playing a little sloppy," analysed Bengtsson, "but a hockey game can change fast - you have to play 60 minutes of good hockey to keep the score This game we were good for only 40 minutes." Tappara and Rögle faced each other in last season's CHL Final Rögle won the game 2-1 to lift their first piece of major silverware "We know how they want play their game and that experience is important to us," he said "now we are going to Finland and we are going to try to win that game too." "We want to advance in this tournament," ended Bengtsson Tappara will host Rögle in the Nokia Arena on Tuesday 13 December at 17:35 CET for the Return Game Rögle Ängelholm's journey to the Semi-Finals stage of this season’s CHL is in no small part down to the contribution of forward Ludvig Larsson.  The 26-year-old centreman has made a big impression in his first season with the SHL-outfit and his team-leading 13 points have helped propel CHL debutants Rögle into the competition's Semi-Finals.  A depth forward who packs a punch offensively Ludvig Larsson’s performances for CHL contenders Rögle have not gone unnoticed.  Want to vote for Larsson as your LGT MVP? beat Tappara Tampere in a heated CHL Final last night to become 2021/22 CHL Champions We caught up with Head Coach Cam Abbott after the final buzzer to talk about the game and what winning the European Trophy in front of a sold-out crowd in Ängelholm’s Catena Arena felt like “We’ve got a real solid and strong team here in Rögle,” he said I’m really happy for the guys today.” the Finns were unable to break down Rögle’s strong defence again as the biggest game of the 2021/22 season ended in Rögle’s favour they pushed us in a certain way,” said Abbott our guys showed their calmness and made sure we stayed within our game plan.” Winning the CHL is a milestone for Rögle - lifting the European Trophy represents their first major piece of silverware and an important moment for Abbott who alongside his twin brother Chris (Rögle’s Sports Director) has been at the reins of the SHL club since 2017 What’s next for this club on the rise “We’ve been on a bit of a journey,” started the Head Coach but the determination players have shown to come back to Ängelholm to play here and work together through problems and issues and overcome disappointments like losing the SHL finals last season and not being able to play in the CHL in 2020/21 has been really important.” “We’ve approached the CHL with the expectation of winning from Day 1 and I’m not surprised we’re here,” concluded the 38-year-old Canadian who together with twin brother Chris is the only person to have won the CHL both as a player (playing for Luleå Hockey back in 2014/15) and as a coach ChromoGenics AB (publ) They currently sit in second position behind Skellefteå AIK Could winning the European Trophy give them a boost in their domestic season it’s going to help us throughout the year,” concluded Zaar Looking to sell your car? just celebrated its 20th anniversary this summer even if its first road car came out 12 years ago It is still therefore a young company however this Swedish company keeps creating a buzz with incredible products and a couple of records broken over the years we got a chance to visit the factory in Ängelholm… Text : Maxime JOLY - Photos : Étienne ROVILLÉ A couple of exotic supercars and hypercars come out every year Some small manufacturers take their chances with little luck while others have found success but also of Donkervoort in the world of low-flyers Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not the only famous Swedish genius… There is another name to remember: Christian von Koenigsegg he managed to produce a prototype called CC for Competition Coupe The prototype was shown at the Festival de Cannes Four more years were necessary to propose a second prototype at the Paris Auto Show in 2000 The biggest event that changed the company was a phone call that Christian received from a German asking him to buy his car The final version was presented in Geneva in 2002 and production started on September 11th of the same year…  Ängelholm is a city of about 20.000 inhabitants It is easy to reach because it is along the highway to Göteborg and also close to Helsingborg which is directly linked to Denmark by ferry Therefore you have two choices to go to Koenigsegg’s because you can also cross the Øresundsbron between Copenhagen and Malmö They moved to the former factory of the Swedish Air Force and made the promise to place a Ghost (symbol of the Air Force) in each car produced there This terrible event is also the cause of the low number of CC8S being produced (only six) as now Koenigsegg can use the former runway to test their cars This goes from the tiniest interior detail to the engine (in-house designed and assembled at the factory but produced in England) There is a dedicated room for the carbon fiber monocoque production another one for the assembly of all the parts of the chassis one more for the engine and more for the transmission assembly and painting station To give you an idea of the time spent on each car and why it costs so much remember that each engine takes between three and four weeks to be completed The interior takes a month of work while painting is another 1000 hours’ effort Engineers work in this huge open space and you can see Christian going from one post to another in an amazing simplicity I forgot to mention the two “secrets” rooms where a part of the 60 (and soon 80) employees work on the future of the company This complete organization will change in order to be able to produce more cars and fully satisfy the demand from clients that keeps growing Christian von Koenigsegg’s ambition has always been simple and can be rephrased in one sentence : making the world’s best sportscar This is something that caused the Swedish man to be the source of many jokes at the beginning but now he has had his revenge…  His philosophy has always been to make a car as light as possible the American homologation of the CCX (dubbed internally “first world car”) made it 100 kg heavier than the CCR the One:1 is Euro6 compliant !  The work on the weight-saving is possible thanks to the intensive use of carbon fibre particularly in the monocoque chassis The amazing Dihedral Synchro Doors are also made from this material The other characteristic of a Koenigsegg is the total absence of plastic if no convertible has ever come out from Ängelholm factory Records are part of Koenigsegg’s history The first one occurred at the Nürburgring in 2005 with a CCR when the CCR beat the McLaren F1 with a top speed of 388 km/h that Koenigsegg made the history books!  The CCX and the year after it broke there the speed record the CCR also reached the most important top speed in the Nürburgring CCX also broke many other records until 2009.  It is in 2011 that new records were broken by the Agera R It would be too long to list them all but there a couple of speed and brake records among them Now time has come to beat the Nürburgring once again… This is why Koenigsegg offers it on its cars The first one to use it was the CCXR in 2007 Another first for Koenigsegg is the camless engine just waiting for a launch date to be announced…  Koenigsegg quickly got famous but it is the Agera that definitely made the company what it is now it was elected Hypercar of the Year by Top Gear it has been enhanced with Triplex suspensions and new gearbox The Agera also played an important role in the Need for Speed movie.  Koenigsegg is probably the most incredible and the most interesting company in the car industry all the while being faithful to the principles of small production it represents everything you can expect of this kind of company: a well-built car Christian von Koenigsegg found the perfect crew to help him Friendliness and seriousness are what you can remember of Koenigsegg AB… Many thanks to Christian von Koenigsegg and his team for their welcoming and their disponibility  Voir la galerie photos KOENIGSEGG FACTORY VOIR NOTRE CHAINE Irish budget airline Ryanair announced the closure of six
