Back then we had mainly LND (an implementation of a Lightning node) and talking to LND from a browser was and still is actually super complicated,” he added After some time, Bumann and his team at Alby created a wallet API which can be used to integrate Lightning payments into any application Think integrating Lightning payments into your favorite podcasting app to help you get paid as a podcaster Alby also provides its users with an LNDHub which allows them to plug in and manage multiple Lightning accounts via one interface and node Many use the Alby browser extension wallet as a custodial wallet, but users can also use it in a non-custodial fashion with Alby Hub which enables users to connect to Alby via their own node or pay a small fee to have Alby run a node for them we move in a direction where it’s easy enough for people to run their own nodes and their own wallets,” said Bumann “Anything in between is an intermediary step.” Alby has something for everyone from new users to the most advanced which is part of the reason why it’s gained so much traction in just two and a half years On that note, Alby has grown faster than even Bumann and his team anticipated, prompting them make setting up an Alby account invite-only for the time being so that they can keep up with demand — a demand that should only grow as Bumann and his team implement Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) While Bumann acknowledges that Lightning is “still very small” and believes that we’re still in a “research phase” regarding the Layer 2 and its use cases, he sees Nostr Zaps as a great use of Lightning Bumann and the team at Alby found another way in which Nostr could help further Lightning adoption They saw that they could use Nostr relays to send requests to pay Lightning invoices. And so they created a protocol called Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) in conjunction with the team from Amethyst Alby has been prepping for the release of its new wallet which will harness the new and unique capabilities that NWC gives it “We are currently about to launch our new self-sovereign Lightning wallet focusing on NWC,” said Bumann “It’s a new wallet that focuses on NWC as a protocol to interact with the wallet It’s different from the typical wallet that has a send button a receive button and a transaction list,” he added Then they can give certain permissions to certain applications and allow You can send a certain amount of money in my name Here is a subscription service that I allow to pull $10 from my wallet each month’ — things like that.” Bumann went on to share that a non-custodial Lightning wallet that accepts and dispenses payments in such a manner would be impossible without NWC He added that the protocol isn’t necessarily optimized for human use it was designed primarily to be connected to other applications and he believes this will “make many more applications possible.” “It’s a wallet that’s optimized for being always on because one of the limitations we have with Lightning is that you have to be online to receive and send [sats],” said Bumann “Especially if you want to automate things in other applications ‘Optimize for that.’ The user doesn’t need to interact with the application You get it running once and that’s it,” he added This type of wallet can run from your desktop the users’ data and keys will be encrypted by nothing more than a password While Bumann and the Alby team will be fine tuning NWC has it’s rolled out — which will include the release of an NWC mobile app — they’ll also be looking at further ways to take Alby into the future Bumann noted that Alby still doesn’t have a plan to release its own mobile app as mobile UI is not well-suited for the integrated UX Alby offers via its browser extension product He says that implementing Bolt 12 is “definitely on the list,” though it doesn’t seem to be his highest priority He’s also paying attention to burgeoning ecash systems like Cashu and Fedi and considering how he might be able to incorporate them into Alby he and the team at Alby are paying attention to the feedback that they get from users in efforts to improve their product “[Customer service] is also needed because the whole thing that we do is really early,” said Bumann and even Bitcoiners that are excited are still facing problems.” Bumann and the Alby team work to alleviate these problems in two ways: [we] trying to make it easier for users to get around these rough edges to get on the Bitcoin and Lightning train somehow,” he said it’s just super important for us to identify where are people struggling We see it also as like it’s a bit of a collaboration with the users,” he explained a project that’s grown by leaps and bounds in almost no time at all he’s remained humble and in touch with those he serves “It’s very important that the developers that are in the code and building the features get the user feedback or are close to the user feedback,” said Bumann [do customer service] and we all still do it.” Bitcoin Magazine is the oldest and most established source of trustworthy news information and thought leadership on Bitcoin Madhuri Dixit Nene's gorgeous ethnic looks World Penguin Day 2025: Best spots worldwide to spot these intelligent creatures Mrunal Thakur’s captivating looks in a saree Rare Pictures from the sets of 'Andaz Apna Apna' 10 insects that look like leaves or sticks 10 things no one tells you about raising a toddler Rubina Dilaik’s Best-Dressed Moments from Laughter Chefs 2 Samantha Ruth Prabhu's gorgeous ethnic looks Shruti Haasan stuns in black as a timeless muse for the camera Our Privacy Policy has been revised. - a dark blue 1965 Mustang He put his love of working on machines to use with his job at Hotsy hot water cleaning system for large equipment vehicles Elizabeth Leyba and wooed her with his charming good looks quick wit and funny Polish jokes (being Polish he knew many) not to mention he had a cool muscle car—a 64 ½ Mustang that he loved Joe also learned how to paint cars at this time He and Elizabeth decided to test out Joe’s skills on her ’73 VW bug Together they went after work to a paint booth and took the chrome off the car and sanded it all down and painted it a beautiful burnt orange color They decided to take a road trip in the “new” car and visited Disney Land and Sea World in California and a day trip over to Tijuana The following year they went to Las Vegas for a short trip with Elizabeth’s parents.  he and Elizabeth were married in August of 1982 From there he was stationed at Ft Lewis/McCord military base for two years Hawaii where they enjoyed the wonderful food the many beaches and flea markets and the spirit of Mahalo Elizabeth gave birth to their first child at Tripler Army medical hospital while they were stationed on the island of Oahu in 1984 After Joe’s tour in Hawaii the family returned to Colorado where Joe and Elizabeth were blessed with their second child in 1987 they started their civilian life with their two children Elizabeth and Hollie (Victor would be born a couple of months later) made a road trip to Tennessee to see Elizabeth’s family then on to Florida to see Joe’s aunt Elizabeth and Hollie made a quick trip to Disney World while there Joe always loved doing family activities like going to the zoo going fishing in the mountains with the kids and their cousins or going to the Renaissance festival and other fun outdoor activities Joe would take the kids to Washington Park and show them how to catch crawdads with just a hook and piece of liver When the kids were little Joe loved showing them how to pound nails in a piece of wood or use a ratcheting screwdriver Other times he would get model kits and show them how to put them together Back in the day the kids would go with him to Cripple Creek casinos and Joe would keep them well supplied with coins to play the children’s video games A few years later Joe attended Emily Griffith and received a degree in computers Hollie Amber Justice Kuznicki and Victor questions every Wednesday at TribLive.com in a column that also appears in the Sunday Tribune-Review Q: What’s the story with Alby Oxenreiter He hasn’t been seen for about a year on WPXI-TV I’m wondering if he decided to retire early because of his health condition Rob: It was a year ago this month that Oxenreiter had open heart surgery, including the replacement of two heart valves Oxenreiter has not retired from Channel 11 “Thanks to everyone who has expressed concern,” Oxenreiter said “I’m making progress and feeling positive but still working through some lingering issues My health and recovery continue to be my only concern.” Q: I’ve been a fan of “Masterpiece Theater’s” “Miss Scarlett and The Duke.” I was surprised to read that Stuart Martin continue when one of the title characters leaves They have written his character out in the storyline but in a way that the character could possibly return sometime in the future Or perhaps bring in a new character who can fill in as a new Duke Rob: Earlier this year PBS announced the show will be retitled “Miss Scarlet” for season five once it becomes Duke-less The series will add actor Durant Pritchard as Alexander Blake who “Masterpiece” describes as “a handsome former soldier and respected detective inspector who joins the force at Scotland Yard to replace William “The Duke” Wellington who has gone to America he meets private detective Miss Eliza Scarlet (Kate Phillips) “He’s not particularly shocked by a woman working as a private eye so Eliza takes this to mean she’ll be given more cases,” the “Masterpiece” announcement continues “But their relationship gets off to a rocky start since Blake has decided not to allow private detectives to aid in his investigations As Blake and Miss Scarlet cross paths at various crime scenes across London they can’t help but develop mutual respect for one another Q: I know that watching a show live can contribute to its ratings I’m curious about the impact of recording a show Does recording a show contribute to its ratings does it have to be watched in a certain amount of time Rob: The only way Jonathan’s viewership would be counted is if he became part of the Nielsen panel and Nielsen hooked up devices to his TV that measured what he watches recorded TV and on-demand TV would be recorded by Nielsen I’m pretty sure you do have to play back the recorded episode for it to count as being watched (There are multiple metrics for how long after a live event that playback can be counted; “live plus seven [days]” is pretty standard but Nielsen also measures — and networks do sell ads based on — viewership of programs played beyond the first seven days of an original telecast.) Most people watching TV do not have their specific viewing counted; just the folks in the Nielsen panel (for May 2024 that was 1,131 homes for households in Western Pennsylvania and 935 people in the age 25-54 demo) Nielsen then extrapolates from that sample to approximate the average viewership of a program You can reach TV writer Rob Owen at rowen@triblive.com or 412-380-8559 Please include your first name and location Stay up-to-date on important news from TribLIVE 1-800-909-8742 © 2025 Trib Total Media | All Rights Reserved About Us Advertise Career Opportunities Contact Advertising Contact Circulation Contact Newsroom Contact Us Feedback Request Correction Resource Center Scholarship Opportunities Send Letter to the Editor Send News Tip Subscribe Subscriber Services Blog eFeatures Email Newsletters eTrib Facebook Home Delivery Instagram LinkedIn Marketing Minute Store Locations TribLIVE App - App Store TribLIVE App - Google Play X (formerly Twitter) Arts & Entertainment Best of the Best Business Directory Circulars Contests Coronavirus Lifestyles Local News YaJagOff Obituaries Opinion Our Publications Photos Real Estate Sports Video Weather Cookie Settings Privacy Policy Terms of Service New Zealand age group international goalkeeper Alby Kelly-Heald has kept a clean sheet in his first team debut for Wellington Phoenix Kelly-Heald (19) was brought into the starting line-up to replace Josh Oluwayemi between the posts and helped his side earn a point in their scoreless draw with in-form Sydney Alby Kelly-Heald’s appearance also meant he played in the same side as twin brother Lukas Kelly-Heald with the pair becoming only the third set of twins to appear in an Isuzu UTE A-League match After losing five of their last six matches the Phoenix side clearly set out to starve Sydney of goalscoring opportunities The nearest Sydney came to scoring was when referee Shaun Evans awarded a penalty midway through the second half when forward Patryk Klimala took a tumble when tackled by young Phoenix defender Isaac Hughes The penalty decision was reversed after a VAR review Defending champions Auckland United are ready for strong competition at the OFC Women’s Champions League..
