Marie woman is organizing a night where singles can meet each other in person instead of on dating apps.  Alysha Jordbro has a fun evening planned next month when she will host Resolution Romance Speed Dating with 30 local singles at Mane Street Cafe and Lounge Jordbro decided to organize a speed dating event after noticing that meeting people in real life is almost non-existent now.  “Most people rely on online dating to find their partner and it’s often not successful . it can take a really long time,” she said in an interview with SooToday The Resolution Romance Speed Dating night is recommended for people who are between 30 and 45 years old “It is going to be set up like speed dating in the movies There will be 15 tables that everyone gets to rotate between so you get about three minutes with each person.  “Every table will have some conversation starters to help the conversation flow,” Jordbro said.  Each participant will receive a card with everyone’s name on it you check off ‘yes’ or ‘no’ if you’re interested in seeing them again.  “This will eliminate the pressure of having to ask anyone for their number or if they are interested in going on a date,” she said.  There will be a break mid way through for people to mingle and at the end of the night they will turn in their date cards.  “Within a day or two I will reach out to everyone to share their matches and contact information then it’s up to them to set up their first date,” Jordbro said She said there will be no pressure or judgment because "everyone will be there for the same reason looking to hopefully find their person." "The advantages of meeting someone in person are possibly experiencing a spark if there’s chemistry right away," she said.  "Being able to read non-verbal cues through body language or overall demeanour can really give you a good feel of someone right away meeting in person can also encourage people to be their true selves which can be challenging when communicating online."  Jordbro was also inspired to organize this event by her background in behaviour therapy.  but she’s hoping to organize more speed dating events.  “Hopefully it’s a success because I’m already planning more events for different age groups like 21-plus and adults on the autism spectrum,” Jordbro said.  Tickets for the Jan. 25 event are around $33, which includes a drink ticket, and are available here. all tickets for women are sold out and there were some tickets left for men There is also a waiting list in case people decide they can't attend after all has placed a significant carbon capture and storage (CCS) project on hold.  The company cited an immature market for carbon capture as the primary reason for halting the project which was slated to begin operations in 2028.  The project aimed to capture up to 150,000 metric tons of CO2 annually from the Jordbro biomass plant for storage in the North Sea Less than a year after submitting the environmental permit application Vattenfall announced the suspension of the large-scale BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) project Vattenfall stated that while the project planned to capture biogenic CO2 from the Jordbro combined heat and power plant the current market conditions are not conducive to its successful implementation due to significant uncertainties and a lack of economic viability The Swedish media outlet SVT initially reported the decision which Vattenfall clarified was not a definitive termination The company emphasized that the environmental application would remain active and that the project could be resumed if market conditions improve Vattenfall has been exploring CO2 capture technologies at its Swedish combined heat and power plants since 2021 the company’s history with CCS projects dates back further Vattenfall invested billions of Swedish Kronor in capturing and storing CO2 from its coal-fired power plants the company opted to divest its coal-fired power plants selling Nordjyllandsværket in 2015 and its German plants the following year Relevant: Sweden Launches BECCS Reverse Auction Call the EU and its member states have renewed their focus on CCS technology with increased support.  Denmark recently earmarked $4.1 billion (DKK 28.7 billion) while the Swedish government recently approved a $3.2 billion (SEK 36 billion) grant for carbon capture projects Vattenfall has determined that the market for CCS is still not mature enough for the Jordbro project to proceed The company had initially planned to store the captured CO2 likely at sea in the North Sea or potentially on land women than men Alysha Jordbro, founder of No Swipe Society is organizing a Dancing Through the Decades Speed Dating event on March 29 at Mane St The event aims to provide an alternative to online dating apps for older adults seeking companionship “Hearing so many people struggle with online dating apps gave me the idea to host in-person speed dating events,” Jordbro said “While that event was being advertised I had several people over the age of 50 reach out to me requesting an event for their age group.” The upcoming event is designed for 40 participants Jordbro has noticed a significant imbalance in bookings “The strong demand for women for this event reflects a common trend in the dating world,” she said “Women over 50 are often more proactive about seeking new social connections while men in the same age group may be more hesitant to put themselves out there in a structured dating setting.” Jordbro is implementing new strategies to attract male participants “I’m planning on doing more advertising in male-dominated spaces and offering discounts if they attend with a friend,” she said No Swipe Society announced a “buy one The event’s format will combine speed dating with social activities followed by two rounds of speed dating mixed with dancing Participants will have the opportunity to meet 20 potential matches with each speed date lasting about five minutes Jordbro’s first event started with a 30-plus age group she expanded to cater to the 50-plus demographic “I figured if people in their 30s were struggling with online dating people in their 50s must be in the same boat,” Jordbro said She remains optimistic about the event's potential I had multiple participants let me know that they connected with their matches and went on first dates.” Jordbro handles most of the planning and advertising herself Café and Lounge for the assistance in creating a “wonderful evening,” for participants but the two for one option for men makes each ticket $27.96.  Notifications can be managed in browser preferences. Two gangs are reportedly fighting over drugs and weapons, and this month has seen a sharp increase in fatal shootings in the northern European country, which has a relatively low crime rate and is considered a very safe place to live. Late Wednesday, an 18-year-old man was shot dead in a Stockholm suburb. Hours later, one man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting in Jordbro, south of the Swedish capital. Early Thursday a woman in her 20s died in an explosion in Uppsala, west of Stockholm, that police are treating as murder. Swedish media said the woman who died was likely not the intended victim and that the real target was the house next door. At least two of the three deaths were linked to a feud between criminal gangs, Swedish media reported. Two gangs — one led by a Swedish-Turkish dual national who lives in Turkey, the other by his former lieutenant — are reportedly fighting over drugs and weapons. National Police Commissioner Anders Thornberg said Thursday that the gang feud was “a serious threat to the safety and security of the country.” In the whole of 2022, 116 people in Sweden lost their lives to deadly violence, covering murder, manslaughter and assault with a lethal outcome, according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention The latest fatal shootings bring the death toll from gun violence in September alone to 11, Swedish broadcaster SVT noted. That would make this the deadliest month for shootings since police started keeping statistics in 2016. Speaking Thursday on Swedish broadcaster TV4, Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer said,”It is a deeply tragic development. I understand that people feel anger, fear and sadness.” Magdalena Andersson, leader of the opposition Social Democrats, called for the military to be sent in. She told Swedish radio that the military could free up police by carrying out some transportation and guard duties. Strömmer said that it was “not relevant to deploy the military,” but that he was prepared to listen to all parties when it comes to solving the wave of violence. Four people have been detained on suspicion of complicity in the fatal shooting in Jordbro. Police said that two people have been arrested over the Uppsala explosion, which was so violent that the facades of two houses were blown away. The blast wave could be felt by seismic monitoring stations some 20 kilometers (12 miles) away, the TT news agency said. “We assume that those who have been affected by the incident have nothing to do with the national conflict,” said Catarina Bowall, a senior officer with the Uppsala police. “This is one of the worst explosions in the area,” local police chief Ulf Johansson said. Uppsala, some 60 kilometres (37 miles) north of Stockholm, has been the scene of many feud-related shooting and explosions. Earlier this week, two powerful blasts ripped through dwellings in central Sweden, injuring at least three people and damaging buildings. The center-right government has been tightening laws to tackle gang-related crime, while the head of Sweden’s police has said that warring gangs have brought an “unprecedented” wave of violence to the country. The new data centre consists of two data centre containers located at Vattenfall’s biomass-fired district heating plant in Jordbro, south of Stockholm. Vattenfall provides the infrastructure and the secured site space, Cloud&Heat Technologies runs the operations, contributing together to a CO2-free computing process. “The demand for high-performance and low-cost computing capacity is increasing rapidly, especially for Internet of Things & Artificial Intelligence applications. Our new data centre at our pilot site in Sweden is ready for operation for customers expecting cost-efficient, reliable, and fossil free computing capacity,” says Birger Ober, Project Manager at Vattenfall. Given the increasing importance and demand of green IT, Cloud&Heat Technologies and Vattenfall aim at enhancing this project and providing more prospecting solutions to promote further sustainable data infrastructures.
