semantic interoperability for public administration the theme of the conference will be "Linked Digital Public Administrations" public administrations exchange data with each other and with citizens and businesses interconnect their systems and link their data as they do not have to provide the same information several times these registers hold data of immense value for the public making these and other data produced by public services available and linkable with data from other sources This provides opportunities for large-scale data analytics machine learning and artificial intelligence Palace was the place to see and be seen The site of grand balls and lavish receptions to jostle for favour with the king and queen The visitors’ court suits and large gowns panniered with whalebone ceremony today and you’ll find scenes that wouldn’t look out of place in the royal court 300 years ago “The court has been replaced by the red carpet as the key sphere of fashionable influence and fashionable display,” says Claudia Acott Williams a forthcoming exhibition on the subject at Kensington Palace The 3m-wide silk mantua worn by Helen Robertson of Ladykirk to a ball at Holyrood in 1760 and co-curator Polly Putnam while they were watching the Met Gala in 2018 “Seeing these celebrities being manoeuvred out of their Mercedes Sprinter vans onto the red carpet by a sea of attendants who then arrange their gowns around them made us think there’s something here,” says Williams “The 18th century was also the moment of the birth of celebrity culture in the way that we understand it now thanks to the expansion of the print press which created an obsession with notable names and a fashion press that was commenting on what was being worn at court.” diamond and sapphire necklace and rituals of red carpet preparations with those of Georgian nobility where elite members of the royal court would be invited into the monarch’s state bedchamber to watch them dress “It always seems completely bizarre to people but we’re all fascinated by the Vogue ‘Getting Ready with’ videos that show celebrities preparing for these events,” says Williams pointing to Kendall Jenner’s behind-the-scenes video of her before the Met Gala The show will also feature designs by a new generation of names such as Harris Reed and Edward Crutchley whose sumptuous green lurex and crinoline gown from his SS22 collection echoes the hoop petticoats and status-signalling court mantuas of the 18th century “While we might tell ourselves that the days of aristocratic exclusivity are something of the past in reality we have just continued this in a different guide,” says Crutchley who drew inspiration from the queer culture of London in the 1720s for his collection “The red carpet is the same thing as the staircase at Kensington Palace You only get through the door if you know the right people and have the right outfit on.” Edward Crutchley’s SS22 lurex and crinoline gown © Historic her court clothing would have been chosen by her mother so this was her stepping out as a woman in her own right and rebranding herself on her own terms.” such as an extraordinary shimmering silver exclusive red carpet events and the parallels between past and present use of dress “All this protocol and ceremony is about showing reverence and respect for the institution,” says Williams “Those rules might have changed dramatically but the thing that persists is the idea of clothing as a way of showing respect for the environment that you’re in and dressing to impress or dressing to express fundamental characteristics of an entity in a context-neutral manner.’ The Core Person Vocabulary does so ‘capturing the fundamental characteristics’ Natural persons are one of the main actors in the GDPR: the data subjects Core Vocabularies allow for their use in many different domains and so can address the GDPR needs of organisations operating in different domains: private or public sector The GDPR incorporates a new right to data portability to receive the information we have provided to an organisation ‘in a structured commonly used and machine-readable format’ It also gives us the right to send that information to another organisation and to ask the originating organisation to transmit our information to another one on our instructions Core Person Vocabulary would address the requirements of the GDPR when answering data portability requests they enable interoperable systems that facilitate the transmission of personal information as the right to data portability mandates in the GDPR Expanding and developing this brief thought, in SEMIC we have developed a Study on the potential of Core Vocabularies to support the right to data portability under the GDPR It examines the use and application of Core Vocabularies and the Core Person Vocabulary  as  a  potential  enabler  for  the data  portability right  contained  in  the  GDPR and  how  public  administrations  in  the  EU  could  comply  with  these  provisions using them This is but one example of the relationship between the GDPR and semantic modelling or metadata management; there are still plenty of options to explore regarding this relationship I hope you find our contribution interesting and valuable we are looking forward to your comments and insights on this and other aspects of data protection and semantic interoperability Anticipating a significant market recovery in the second half of the year Infineon is now about to increase its production capacity the company manufactures power semiconductors in Villach (Austria) and Kulim (Malaysia) the company now will gradually add manufacturing capacities by returning a 300mm production line to service in Dresden This production line formerly was owned and operated by memory chip maker Qimonda which filed for insolvency a couple of years ago Infineon bought the facility back and put into service again as a highly automated production line The move will boost the company’s production capacity for power semiconductors to 40.000 waferstarts per week (in 200mm equivalents) Even though Doctor Doom is one of Marvel’s most unique and intriguing characters we’ve yet to see him properly brought to life on the big screen With the Fantastic Four joining the MCU soon let’s hope the ruler of Latveria doesn’t end up like his 2015 counterpart we can always fill that void with Doctor Doom collectibles This Dr. Doom statue is part of the aptly named Heritage Collection from Semic Studio Victor’s likeness is based on the classic 1960s design that originated from the legendary Jack Kirby That look comes in the form of a wide mask with prominent features (like the triangular nose and wide grimace) and the signature green cloak and gun holster on his belt Size-wise, the polystone statue isn’t as tall as I was expecting. Rather than being 12″ tall, Victor Von Doom only stands at 10.23″ in height based on the specs seen at the Big Bad Toy Store if you want to own this guy and live in the States then the BBTS will be your best option since Semic Studio is based overseas Doom will run you $359.99 and is slated to arrive during the third quarter of 2023 The statue will be part of a minimal run of only 399 copies so I cannot tell you much about the quality of their products Doom is on the pricier side when it comes to collectibles on the same scale I’d hope he’s a quality product If you want to see Doom’s sculpture being done, check out Ficat’s Instagram page. have considerable information resources in our public administration we can increase the value of knowledge capital and we can develop better services for our citizens and make administrative procedures more efficient and more transparent That is why it is important to work together in unity in the EU to advance interoperability,” said Senior Adviser for Legislative Affairs and Head of Unit Sami Kivivasara "The European Commission's Digital Agenda for Europe is also based on the premise that we must be able to make better use of information between the Member States Besides closer cooperation between the Member States the public and private sector also need to work together more closely” Director General Gertrud Ingestad from the European Commission continued open data is promoted actively and in a networked way “Finland’s profile is that of a forerunner in digital public services and interoperability We have been active in the ISA2 programme that promotes interoperability International comparisons also show that we have made progress in opening up our data resources; in fact high-quality data resources are one of Finland's strengths so that the Member States can work together more closely we need common practices and structures in the Member States and wider use of existing best practices,” Autere said The conference was co-organised by the European Commission's ISA² programme and Finland which holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union until the end of the year Snellmaninkatu 1 A, Helsinki PO Box 28 About the site Data Korea and China is rapidly narrowing and China's NAND flash manufacturing capabilities have reached almost the same level as Korea's China has virtually turned around Korea in terms of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) technology which is an essential component in the artificial intelligence (AI) era A research team led by a Chinese studies professor at Hanyang University analyzed the latest HBM research trends using the "Web of Science," an academic research database Chinese academic institutions listed a total of 169 papers in the HBM sector China has published 2.5 times more papers than Korea Although Korea accounts for 90 percent of the global HBM market it has been overtaken by China in basic research "It means that China is accumulating more academic achievements than Korea in the core semiconductor field," and added "Chinese chip companies including Changsin Memory (CXMT) will increase their HBM self-sufficiency rate to 70% by next year through mass production of HBM2." In fact and Tung Fu Microelectronics have completed the development of HBM2 Tongfu Microelectronics has delivered HBM2 to Huawei "The gap in memory technology between Korea and China is likely to narrow from the previous 10 years to less than a few years." the CXMT share in the DRAM market was 5% last year The absolute system of Samsung Electronics TrendForce predicted that China's share in the memory market will account for 10.1% in the third quarter of this year CXMT has developed memory DDR to DDR5 designed to speed up data transmission the technology gap between Korea and China has been shortened to about three years An official from a semiconductor company explained "We can afford to take a breather due to the U.S government's massive checks on semiconductors with China," but added "China's pace of semiconductor technology development is so fast that we can never rest assured from years ago."
