the current Slovak national team as well as former national team players and even foreign players Marek Mintal is well known from years ago - the former forward was even the top scorer of the Bundesliga in the 2004/2005 season The current captain of the Slovak national team and one of the best centre-backs in the world, Milan Skriniar worked his way from Zilina to Inter and then to PSG David Hancko, a mainstay in the Feyenoord defence, in whom Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, among others, were interested in the summer in another Zilina product. As is goalkeeper Martin Dubravka And we could continue with the players who appeared in Zilina's jersey and are now playing elsewhere in Europe. The aforementioned players could soon be followed by young star Mario Sauer - his four goals and five assists in 12 games are proof of that become associated with talent from Africa and have facilitated the arrival in Europe of many Africans who have managed to play their way into the starting lineup At the moment, Samuel Gidi is a pillar of the midfield alongside Sauer. Among the defence, Adama Drame is starting to show his worth as well Perhaps the ideal example of how football works in Zilina in terms of foreign footballers coming in is Jakub Kiwior His performances in Slovakia opened the way to a move to Spezia in Italy and from there to Premier League side Arsenal he has appeared in over 40 matches for the Gunners Incidentally, it is only a matter of time before a similar move can be made by, for example, Adrian Kapralik, who recently played on loan at Gornik Zabrze in Poland, and also national team player David Duris Zilina has won the championship seven times since the formation of the Slovak Republic the last time was back in the 2016/17 season Fans have been waiting for another big success for more than seven years Slovan Bratislava have taken on the baton as the league's big dog while Zilina have continued to produce talent in their shadow We can safely say that they paid for their policy of self-financing from the sale of their playing assets The management of the Zilina club understood this and made changes Peter Pekarikmskzilina.skTomas Hubocan has returned to the club. The thirty-nine-year-old defender left the Yellow-Greens in 2008 and returned fifteen years later. He was followed by Miroslav Kacer - the club captain. Most recently, after twelve years at Hertha Berlin, Peter Pekarik joined them in cooperation with experienced Czech manager Michal Scasny Scasny put together the dressing room and guided the players on the pitch to not only play the 'Zilina way' - offensive football - adding his stamp within a compact and organized defence the team has not lost even once - 12 games They have the best offensive record (29 goals) and the tightest defence (nine conceded) Zilina have started the season in unbelievable formFlashscoreAt the moment coach Scasny's charges are neck-and-neck with long-time giants of the league Slovan but their ambitions remain the highest as confirmed by their performances and deserved results Will the Nike Liga see a new champion after six years of Slovan Bratislava's reign Follow Zilina's next match with Flashscore. Hyundai Mobis has signed an investment agreement with the Slovakian government for the construction of a new plant to produce electric drive components The plant in Nováky is scheduled for completion by the second half of 2025 The supplier, which is part of the Hyundai Motor Group, wants to produce 300,000 power-electric systems for the European market per year there. Hyundai Mobis already has a plant in Slovakia, located in Zilina, right next to the Kia vehicle plant there. Nováky is around an hour and a half’s drive south of Zilina Hyundai Mobis defines ‘power-electric systems’ as ready-to-install drive units these consist of the reduction gearbox and the power electronics – the inverters that convert the direct current from the battery precisely and as efficiently as possible into alternating current for the electric motors Hyundai Mobis plans to invest 350 billion won the equivalent of around 236 million euros in the construction of the plant in Nováky – 250 billion won will be earmarked specifically for drive production Part of the supply chain has also already been finalised: this January Hyundai ordered motor cores (consisting of stator and rotor) from the South Korean steel company Posco Almost half of these will be delivered to a Hyundai Mobis plant in Slovakia starting in 2025 and installed in finished drive units we still assumed that this would be the factory in Zilina – but Hyundai Mobis is actually building the new plant in Nováky for drive production However, the supplier is also investing in Zilina with a view to electric mobility: a new assembly plant for brake systems for electric cars and airbags is to be built on the Zilina site for the equivalent of 64 million euros (originally 95 billion won). This rocky cliff, towering above the Váh River, has long been suspected of prehistoric habitation. Recent findings may reshape our understanding of the site's ancient history, writes the My Žilina website they examined the northern slope of the castle hill which in the past showed that this rocky cliff rising above the Váh River meander was probably inhabited in prehistoric times Archaeologists Zuzana Staneková and Marek Both embarked on a systematic investigation of the steep slope which has an inclination exceeding 45 degrees they conducted their research in several stages As reported by Považské múzeum (Museum of Považie Region) in Žilina were discovered from when there was a Púchov culture settlement on the hill undoubtedly guarding the waterway and the ford beneath Among the most interesting finds were spurs and iron bronze brooches for the fastening of clothing The mediaeval phase of the settlement is represented by finds comprising arrowheads for crossbows The most significant find is a silver coin of the Hungarian king Andrew II from the years 1205-1235 The minting date of this coin precedes by several decades the hitherto assumed date when the castle was built The discovery of the coin from the beginning of the 13th century indicates that the castle was probably built before the Mongol invasion of Hungary the finds will be exhibited in the archaeological exhibition dedicated to fortifications on display in Budatín Castle in Žilina established as the South Korean carmaker’s first overseas production base is on the verge of surpassing 5 million vehicles in cumulative production Since starting operations in December 2006 the plant has manufactured nearly 4.94 million vehicles as of the first quarter of this year Given the plant’s current production rate of over 30,000 vehicles per month it is projected to reach the 5 million mark early this month Reaching this milestone would mean the Žilina plant has produced 5 million vehicles in 17 years and 6 months since its production lines began operating This comes only three years and one month after the plant celebrated its 4 millionth vehicle in May 2021 The Kia Sportage stands out as the best-selling model produced at the Žilina plant The Sportage has gained significant recognition in Europe especially after the launch of its fifth-generation model in 2021 the Sportage sold approximately 145,000 units in Europe last year making it the second best-selling compact SUV in the region Despite being priced higher than many of its competitors the Sportage has successfully captured European consumers’ interest with its high-quality features the Sportage starts at 38,890 euros ($42,204) which is 1,740 euros higher compared to the Volkswagen Tiguan Kia plans to introduce new machinery and equipment and expand production lines at its Slovak plant The Slovak Ministry of Economy expects the planned expansion will boost the production capacity of the plant by up to 36 percent This would increase the plant’s annual production capability to around 450,000 vehicles Korea’s key industries to face downturns in 2025: BOK LG Uplus’ ‘U+2+’ membership surpasses 8 mn users KEPCO, KHNP clash over UAE nuclear plant costs E-mart to delist Shinsegae E&C with tender offer LG Chem halts PBAT plant operations over profitability conce.. LOOM will also serve as a public venue for community events designed to bring together diverse groups from across the city. In northern Slovakia, the city of Žilina took a similar step in mid-March with the opening of the Žilina Beacon – an integration centre situated on Horný Val Street – offering clear information and tailored support to foreign nationals. “This is another building block in Žilina’s commitment to those coming from places where life is difficult,” said Mayor Peter Fiabáne at the launch. “It’s not just about refugees from war-torn Ukraine, but anyone arriving in our city in search of help, belonging and a new home.” The city worked closely with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to establish the centre. UNHCR also contributed equipment and furnishings. Mayor Fiabáne said the message was clear: foreigners are welcome in Žilina. “At the Žilina Beacon, people will find not only assistance with housing and employment, but also support as they adapt to a new environment. We hope this helps them better understand the values of our city and country – and take part fully in community life.” Before the opening of the Žilina Beacon, a large-capacity centre operated on Horný Val Street, where the Slovak Humanitarian Council, a non-profit organisation, provided assistance primarily to refugees from Ukraine. 03 May 2025 18:30:00 GMT?.css-1txiau5-AnswerContainer{color:var(--GlobalColorScheme-Text-secondaryText2);}Slovan Bratislava won 4–3 over Zilina on Sat The current head to head record for the teams are Slovan Bratislava 28 win(s) Tigran Barseghyan is the competition's top scorer (20) Have scored 7 goals in their last 5 matches 03 May 2025 18:30:00 GMT?Slovan Bratislava won 4–3 over Zilina on Sat 03 May 2025 18:30:00 GMT.InsightsHave scored 12 goals in their last 5 matches Slovan Bratislava is playing home against Zilina at National Football Stadium on Sat Nigerian winger Ridwan Sanusi has officially joined Slovak club MŠK Žilina from FK Železiarne Podbrezová after completing his medical and signing a contract valid until June 2027. days It’s what the US calls a campus – no fewer than three Kia factories: car parts production and assembly and two engine plants Only a few hundred metres away is a vast supplier park – ‘household’ names (if you’re in the car biz) like Faurecia on the buildings – containing multiple component and module final assembly and just-in-time a few more hundred metres away is a huge training centre similar to the one located about the same distance from parent Hyundai’s Alabama plant in the US Build it and they’ll come – it’s clear from the surroundings the country of Slovakia and the city of Zilina have put in all the infrastructure Kia needs to manufacture and assemble its cars and it was notable during our new generation Ceed test drive and a large motorway project is under way which will no doubt help the automaker with future logistics This is pretty much a full manufacturing plant that stamps its own panels and makes more engines than it uses – 80 different pressings are made and the factory stores and accesses them with the help of a vast automated storage unit A Kia plant representative said 100% of the welds are automated using 360 robots and there is also automated measuring a claimed “unique” inspection system and two main body bucks covering the various Sportage The paint shop has a 360-degree rotate and dip tank Bodies are rotated through a forward somersault while immersed in the tank and the cars get a five-year paint warranty and 12-year anti-perforation warranty as standard So it’s imperative to get crucial rust-preventative primer paint into all those important little places – with the help of 80 sealing and painting robots Dwell time per final assembly station is one minute and the plant completes 1,400 cars a day There is plenty of automation with items such as screen fit and wheel nut tightening carried out by machines or robots There’s a small test track alongside the factory and every vehicle built is given a run on it – each factory driver does 40 tests a day Don’t let policy changes catch you off guard Stay proactive with real-time data and expert analysis Adjacent to the plant are two engine factories which ship half their output to the Kia assembly line and half across the border to the Czech Republic to parent Hyundai Motor’s assembly plant Gearboxes for Kias come in the other direction There are nine engine build lines in total processing block crank assembly and adaptor plate and a considerable number of robots are used in construction The two shops combined built 539,900 engines in 2017 and the tally since the factory opened is 34.5m and counting Suppliers include Nemak for cylinder blocks and heads Donyang Piston for piston sub-assemblies and Hyundai Kefico for module high pressure pumps Around 125,000 people are employed by the big automakers VW Another 250,000 are employed indirectly by automaking and the supply chain and the autobiz itself accounts for 44% alone of total Slovakian industry output Vehicle output in the country was 218,349 back in 2005 and 1,025,000 last year H1 output included 18% for the Russian Federation Zilina owes its origins to the mid-2000s when Kia established a policy of building cars in and for various markets that meant mid-sized three- and five-door hatchbacks and an estate to compete in the dominant C-sector It also opened up the possibility for the Sportage compact crossover to be made much closer to its European customers seen as important with the growth in sales for cars of this type which had become a member of the EU in 2004 an established automotive supply chain and a national government committed to helping new businesses Kia was given tax breaks and land incentives by the Slovakian government and has in turn worked with the authorities for the benefit of the local community The local authority has established that training centre close to the plant where Kia has provided the expertise to develop courses in such areas as computer These courses are available for all people across the region The factory has brought a much needed boost to Zilina Some 10,000 jobs have been created nearby with more than a dozen parts and components suppliers Employment at the factory was increased to 3,800 staff when the third shift came into effect in January 2012 and Kia insiders noted Zilina was completed ahead of schedule and the quality of the pilot production cars towards the end of 2005 was so good it decided to launch the then-new cee’d with a seven-year That confidence has been more than justified by the consistent quality of the cars made there Early cee’d models came off the line in 2006 2007 saw the first Sportage (generation two) the second generation cee’d entered production in 2012 Sportage generation four in 2015 and this year has been particularly busy with the third generation Ceed and updated G4 Sportage dubbed PE (Produced for European customers) which includes a new 48V mild hybrid version Local weather had to be taken into account when designing the factory as Zilina lies deep in the Slovakian countryside at the foot of the Tatra mountains – early to mid 20s C in the summer but winter temperatures dip to minus -28 C Winter lasts a full six months which greatly influenced the layout of the plant. The press paint and final assembly shops are constructed in a square so that cars and parts do not have to go outside at any point The engines assembled next door are delivered to the final line by overground tunnel This enclosed facility means that large exterior doors are not needed Volume 10 - 2022 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fenvs.2022.952577 Particulate matter (PM) is present in the surrounding air the tunnel can be described as a separate point source of air pollution from which PM pollutants spread to the portal parts and the external environment PM originates from the exhaust and non-exhaust processes of road traffic (brake wear This study deals with the specification of non-exhaust PM emissions in a tunnel environment where the primary source is road traffic PM measurements took place in the “Považský Chlmec” highway tunnel with a length of 2,118 m directly in the tunnel tube and near the tunnel portal PM measurements were performed using gravimetric and optical methods PM chemical analyses were performed using energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) The concentration of PM in the tunnel was on average: PM10 = 30.76 μg/m3 and PM2.5 = 15.66 μg/m3 and near the tunnel portal PM10 = 14.38 μg/m3 and PM2.5 = 8.74 μg/m3 The average traffic volume in the tunnel tube was 2,274 veh/24 h Chemical element concentrations in PM10 and PM2.5 were subjected to factor analysis (FA) and principal component analysis (PCA) to determine the origin of PM Two sources were identified for PM10 and three for PM2.5 Absolute principal component scores (APCS) in conjunction with multiple regression analysis (MRA) were used to determine the source contribution to the production of PM10 and PM2.5 The origin of PM from road surface abrasion was also investigated in the authors’ workplaces, along with the grinding of various asphalt mixtures under laboratory conditions. Various chemical elements have been identified in asphalt mixtures and PM. The most important ones are Ca, Si, and S. Ca and Si originate from different types of aggregates and S from the asphalt binder (Jandacka et al., 2021) On the one hand, the introduction of electric vehicles reduces exhaust emissions, but on the other hand, with increasing vehicle weight and the number of cars, non-exhaust PM emissions increase (OECD, 2020) monitoring the production of PM from road traffic particularly the share of non-exhaust PM emissions The research presented in this article contributes to raising awareness regarding PM emissions from road traffic PM measurements were taken in a tunnel environment, inside the tunnel, and near the tunnel portal (western portal) in the city of Žilina, Považský Chlmec Tunnel. The measurement in the tunnel tube was performed in the second parking bay in the direction of the eastern portal (Figure 1) Measurement location—tunnel Považský Chlmec near the tunnel portal 49°14′43.1″N (B) Measuring station inside the tunnel 49°14′51.9″N 18°42′56.8″E) and wind rose (map source: © OpenStreetMap contributors) PM measurements were performed to determine the concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 directly in the tunnel tube (PM2.5_IN PM10_OUT) and their elemental chemical composition (presence of chemical elements in PM) PM measurements were taken during two periods: before tunnel maintenance (1–7 October 2020) and after tunnel maintenance (12–20 October Measurements were taken across a total of 16 days Two methods were used to measure PM10 and PM2.5: the reference gravimetric (4x Leckel LVS3 devices) and optical methods (Fidas 200S and APM-2) 2x Leckel devices and an APM-2 device were used inside the tunnel 2x Leckel devices and a Fidas 200S device were used near the tunnel portal A reference method (gravimetric method) was applied according to the STN EN 12341 standard (2016) to establish the amount of ambient PM in the air Sampling was performed using three low-volume flow samplers (LECKEL LVS3 Two PM fractions were monitored concurrently: PM10 and PM2.5 PM was collected on nitrocellulose filters for 24 h (12 a.m.–12 a.m we obtained 16 samples corresponding to 24-h sampling for each PM fraction inside the tunnel and at the tunnel portal (32 filters for each PM fraction—in sum The nanocellulose filters had a diameter of 47 mm and the PM was collected at a fixed air flow rate of 2.3 m3/h the mass of PM collected on the filters was determined using microbalances calculated based on the known volume of air obtained during sampling (µg/m3) The PM2.5-10 concentration was determined as the difference between PM10 and PM2.5 All exposed filters (PM samples) were used for the elemental chemical analysis were taken to ensure the quality of the samples and PM concentrations We calibrated all of the measuring instruments as prescribed by the STN EN 12341 standard We quantified the total uncertainty of the method for PM2.5 consisting of partial uncertainties—the sampling of PM by a flow pump and weighing of clean and exposed nitrocellulose filters This method was maintained as accredited in the workplace A Fidas 200S optical measurement device was also used to continuously measure PM concentrations near the tunnel portal Fidas 200S utilizes the acknowledged principle of single-particle light-scattering size analysis and is equipped with a high-intensity LED light source (dp The sampling system of the Fidas® 200S was operated with a volume flow of approximately 0.3 m3/h The actual aerosol sensor is an optical aerosol spectrometer that determines the particle size using Lorenz–Mie scattered light analysis of single particles Although the optical measurement technique determines the particle mass indirectly (equivalence method) the empirical knowledge used in processing the measured data ensures an excellent correlation with the standard reference method We ensured the quality of the measured data using the Fidas 200S instrument by comparing the measurements with the reference gravimetric method (accredited test for measuring PM10 and PM2.5 in ambient air) The comparison measurements showed a high correlation coefficient between the measured concentrations of PM10 r = 0.93 and PM2.5 (r = 0.94) An Air Pollution Monitor (APM-2) was used inside the tunnel to continuously monitor PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations APM-2 used the light scattered by tiny particles (nephelometry) to directly and continuously determine the PM10 or PM2.5 concentration in the ambient air A highly sensitive scattered light sensor was located at the heart of the applied measuring method The photometer measures the PM10 concentration in the enrichment mode and the PM2.5 concentration in the normal mode The photometer is periodically supplied with filtered air for zero-point adjustment purposes using the switching device We ensured the quality of the measured data using the APM-2 instruments by comparing the measurements with the reference gravimetric method (accredited test for measuring PM10 and PM2.5 in ambient air) The comparison measurements showed a high correlation coefficient between the measured concentrations of PM10 r = 0.85 and PM2.5 (r = 0.94) The quality of the EDXRF measurements was verified by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) using an iCAP 7600 DUO (PlasmViewing- axial and radial) instrument (Thermo Fisher Scientific) ICP-OES was verified and calibrated using CRM standards from High-Purity Standards (HPS) the results of measurements of only those elements that were measured using the EDXRF and ICP/OES techniques and also part of the CRM standards (Filters standards HPS) were used The comparison measurements show a high correlation coefficient between the measured concentrations of the chemical elements Al r = 0.996 The concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 and their chemical compositions (chemical elements) were subjected to various mathematical analyses A data matrix measuring 17 variables × 32 measurements was constructed containing the concentrations of the elements and their respective PM fractions Multivariate statistical analyses were used across the scientific community to reveal the internal relationships between the variables studied they were used to detect the origin of PM from road traffic based on the presence of various chemical elements contained in the PM which may originate from different sources (road The tunnel environment is an ideal measuring point for studying the contribution of road traffic sub-sources to PM production We also used Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) which measures the linear dependence between two variables (x and y) This is also known as a parametric correlation test because it depends on the distribution of the data It can only be used when x and y are normally distributed The plot of y = f(x) is a linear regression curve Correlation () in the package PerformanceAnalytics and the function corrplot () in the package with the same name in R were used to display a chart of the correlation matrix A graphical and numerical display of the correlation matrix was created highlighting the most correlated variables in a data table in R These methods led to a reduction in the size of the original task; that is the transformation of the original variables (elements) into a smaller number of latent variables to preserve as much information as possible about the original data The results illustrated the interconnection of some elements in the data matrix along with the subsequent interpretation of their structure based on individual factors The main goal of PCA is to simplify the description of a group of mutually and linearly dependent correlated characters by a transformation method of the original characters of xj m into a smaller number of latent variables yj These latent variables possess more appropriate and comprehensive properties: their presence is less significant they capture and represent almost the entire variability of the original characteristics and their properties are mutually uncorrelated Latent variables are regarded as the main components and represent linear combinations of the former variables PCA was used to identify significant (applicable) principal components (PC) that were less than the number of original variables and sufficiently characterized the original variance of the data for subsequent use in FA thus reducing the number of original characters selecting the number of common factors is necessary before performing the analysis the so-called factor loadings are estimated for particular variables (pollutants) for a generated factor Factor loadings are expressions of correlations between particular variables and acquired factors Based on the values of the factor loadings it is possible to specify a group of variables for each factor and those that correlate with it in the closest possible manner the identified factor is appended with the extent of the impact on each variable by means of factor loadings The variables with the highest factor loadings for a generated factor are considered decisive even when interpreting such a factor A data matrix serves the purpose of input for calculations whose lines correlate with particular measurements (objects) and bars of variables; that is The variables to be used are those pollutants that can specify the anticipated PM sources To establish the appropriateness of the FA adopted here, the Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin (KMO) Kriterium (interval 0–1) and Measure of Sampling Adequacy (MSA) (interval 0–1) criteria were calculated (Dziuban and Shirkey, 1974; Kaiser and Rice, 2016) KMO values between 0.8 and 1 indicate adequate sampling this indicator is considered unsuitable; values < 0.6 are considered useful To approximate the contributions from specific sources of PM, the method APCS in conjunction with MRA (Guo et al., 2004; Song et al., 2006; Jandačka, 2015; Jandacka et al., 2017; Jain et al., 2018) was adopted The function princomp () for PCA and the function factanal () for FA were used in R and other auxiliary analyses were processed using R and traffic volume (RAIN—precipitation The decrease in traffic volume on these days was 45 % compared to working days The decrease in PM10 concentrations inside the tunnel on weekends averaged 5.3 % and PM2.5 at 13.1 % and total precipitation during measurements in the Považský Chlmec tunnel in the period of 1/10/2020–7/10/2020 and total precipitation during measurements in the Považský Chlmec tunnel in the period of 13/10/2020–20/10/2020 PM measurements in the tunnel and outside near the tunnel portal were affected by heavy precipitation, which was reflected in the lower PM concentrations (Figures 2, 3) Precipitation affected PM concentrations by wet deposition which also affected the distribution of particles inside and outside the tunnel (cleaner road surface The average decreases in PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations during the days with precipitation compared to the days without precipitation were 45.4 % and 42.8 % outside the tunnel portal and 25.9 % and 28.9 % inside the tunnel Standard tunnel maintenance and cleaning did not have a positive effect on the change in PM concentration The average PM concentrations before maintenance were as follows The average PM concentrations after maintenance were as follows: PM10_IN 32.8 μg/m3 Results of the regression analysis performed for PM10 and PM2.5-10 concentrations during measurements in the Považský Chlmec tunnel (IN—inside the tunnel OUT—outside near the tunnel portal) Chemical analyses of PM revealed the presence of some chemical elements of which 32 PM10 samples and 32 PM2.5 samples The following chemical elements were identified in PM: Al The total concentration of the elements on the filters averaged PM10_IN 365.8 mg/m2 Below is a spectrum displayed by the ARL QUANT’X acquired from the PM samplings, filters T29, T30, and T31, with the elements of interest identified (Figure 5) Spectrum of elements obtained by EDXRF in selected PM10 samples (T29 and T31) during measurements in the Považský Chlmec tunnel Average concentration of chemical elements in PM (milligrams of element per gram PM) during measurements in the Považský Chlmec tunnel The concentrations of chemical elements were also affected by precipitation that occurred during the measurements A decrease in concentrations of chemical elements >50 % found outside near the tunnel portal during days with precipitation compared to days without precipitation was recorded for elements Al The distribution of each variable is illustrated diagonally Bivariate scatter plots are displayed with a fitted line at the bottom of the diagonal the value of the correlation and significance level are shown as stars Each significance level is associated with a symbol: p-values (0 and 1) ≤> symbols (“***,” “**,” “*,” “.“ −1 indicates a strong negative correlation Zero indicates no association between the two variables (x and y) One indicates a strong positive correlation Results of correlation analysis of the concentration of chemical elements in PM obtained during measurements in the Považský Chlmec tunnel From the perspective of the interconnection of chemical elements coarse fraction PM2.5–10 was significant for the total fraction PM10 in this case Together with information about the representation of individual chemical elements in the fine or coarse fractions of PM the correlation analysis provides a critical view of the internal structure of the PM chemical composition from the point of view of identifying and determining the source contribution to the production of PM we can assume the origin of chemical elements and PM especially in road traffic-related non-exhaust processes The following section presents a detailed analysis of the source contributions to creating PM10 and PM2.5 Calculated MSA criteria values for variables in PM10 and PM2.5 data matrices PCA was performed to obtain information about the internal structure of the data and to determine the number of significant PC A crucial decision in the FA is the number of factors to be extracted which offers a suite of functions to aid in this decision any factor solution must be interpretable for it to be valid Scree plot for PM10 data matrix obtained by PCA analysis Scree plot for PM2.5 data matrix obtained by PCA analysis Plot component weights: PM10 (A); PM2.5 (C) Biplot: PM10 (B); PM2.5 (D) obtained by PCA analysis The interpretation of these PM10 and PM2.5 sources is based on the facts concerning the sampling point itself—the tunnel environment The sources of PM10 and PM2.5 in the tunnel are road traffic it is an ideal environment for diversifying PM10 and PM2.5 and determining their contribution to PM10 and PM2.5 Factor loadings of variables (chemical elements and PM) to factors (PM sources) for data matrix PM10 obtained by FA Factor loadings of variables (chemical elements and PM) to factors (PM sources) for data matrix PM2.5 obtained by FA The APCS with the MRA method was used to estimate the contribution of the identified sources to the production of PM10 and PM2.5 contributions from individually identified sources can be obtained These were calculated from the regression coefficients obtained by multiplying them by the average APCS value for each common factor as an absolute contribution which was converted from the total PM concentration to the percentage source contribution All variables (factors) are significant in the model (** or ***) and contribute significantly to PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations (Table 3) The coefficient of determination describes the proportion of total variance which can be explained by a linear relationship it has the value R2 = 0.83 and PM2.5 R2 = 0.97 which means that the linear relationship clarifies a sufficiently large part of the total variance The level of significance is negligible; therefore the use of the given model is sufficiently significant for PM10 p = 1.39e−16 and PM2.5 P = <2.2e−16 Results of the MRA model for evaluating the source contribution The average absolute factor contributions and the average percentage factor contributions relate to the average concentration of PM10 21.55 μg/m3 and PM2.5 12.20 μg/m3 from all analyzed data According to the results of the APCS analysis the sources of road wear and re-suspension contributed the most to the average PM10 concentration at a value of 10.34 μg/m3 representing a 48 % share of the average PM10 concentration Source: Brake and tire wear contributed to the average PM10 concentration with an absolute value of 5.14 μg/m3 representing a 24 % share of the average PM10 concentration The undifferentiated part contributed to an average PM10 concentration of 6.1 μg/m3 the source contributed the most to the average PM2.5 concentration which represented a 75.9 % share of the average PM2.5 concentration Source: Road wear and re-suspension contribute to the average PM2.5 concentration with an absolute value of 1.45 μg/m3 representing a 12.1 % share of the average PM2.5 Source: Break wear contributes to an average PM2.5 concentration of 1.43 μg/m3 This could be caused by significant precipitation during the measurement The concentrations of chemical elements reached higher values inside the tunnel than outside FA revealed a higher factor load of sulfur to the factor “road wear and re-suspension.” However a factor load was also identified as the factor “exhaust emissions and tire wear” in the analysis of PM2.5 essential to consider that the PM fraction of the FA and the analysis of the source contribution were carried out this is the first study dedicated to the quantification of PM properties and determination of source contribution using the methods presented in this particular tunnel in Slovakia we plan to continue PM research in the tunnel environment and extend the measurements to the number and mass distribution of the “tunnel aerosol.” We will also focus on organic compounds in PM (benzo(a)pyrene I'd take Pulis along with me to a Roadhouse-style bar brawl or a city centre riot 7.38pm: Funny what qualifies as a crisis these days All Chelsea need to do is win three games in a row and it will all be forgotten I do have some baseless doubts about this Emanalo character Find it hard to trust a man in designer glasses with ostentatious branding on the frames 1 min Chelsea kick off and they keep the ball for a bit as Zilina set themselves out doggedly in their own half for what might be a long 90 minutes Very nice Norwich City away kit they're wearing 3 mins I'm still not really sure what Ramires really does He's playing on the right of midfield here Maybe this is his moment to announce himself Maybe in years to come we'll talk wistfully about "Ramires' Match" who almost bursts through the middle but there are five yellow shirts barring his way And Andrew Rae is getting in the spirit of things: "Obviously Brian Clough to accompany me on a night out in Nottingham just anyone who punches Roy Keane to the floor must be handy in a bar fight/shooting/stabbing right?" It's a lovely thought Chelsea having all the ball and Zilina understandably cautious Sturridge cuts inside nicely and has a shot and Chelsea get their first corner Ramires fails to control the ball properly as Chelsea follow up and Zilina shuffle forward neurotically Peter Sheridan writes: "I would like to spend 2 consecutive afternoons on a large mound of salt with Rafa Benitez; on both days we wear all black cat suits with white collars and spend the first day rolling around blaming people for why he left Liverpool and spend the next day foretelling who will be to blame for his departure from Inter I would also like to berate Irish banking directors with Mick McCarthy." Second one: yes 12 mins Van Aanholt makes a nice break down the left but the ball runs out of play ahead of him He looks fast and strong and quite convincing so far Paul Szabo offers: "I'd take out for a drink every manager who's ever been unfairly fired when it was the owner's or players' fault .. 15 mins Van Aanholt puts in a decent cross form the left driving it towards the penalty spot but only Drogba is anywhere near it and that was a bit of a waste Sturridge is going to have to get a bit closer to the malaria-ridden goal ace Down the other end Oravec almost gets in behind the defence but is thwarted by the onrushing Turnbull This is looking fairly well balanced at the moment And Tom Shaw muses satirically: "I'd like to go shopping with 'Arry Redknapp using a credit card he'd borrowed off a rich mate We'd come home loaded but I wouldn't fancy the mates chances of eating again." I think I'd go to a small municipal park with Harry and feed the birds in companionable silence 18 mins Still very little in the way of chances for Chelsea with just some nice touches from McEachran to lighten a slightly turgid evening Nice ball in from Kakuta but again no one gets on the end of it partly because Drogba is hobbling about in the centre circle having hurt his ankle This could be a terrible moment for Chelsea It was a tackle from behind that seemed to catch him but it is a brillaint goal by the visitors some lvoely interplay between Bello and Jez who play a sweet give and go that ends with Bello flicking a sweet first time finish past Turnbull from the edge of the box That really was a nicely worked goal and a big test now for Chelsea's young players Wonder if Carlo has taken an unnecessary gamble here 22 mins Three thoughts: Turnbull seemed to be standing in quite weird place when that ball went in in a tailspin: three defeats in four and 1-0 down here And thirdly Ancelotti looks absolutely miserable stuck out there on his own right now 25 mins Not much in response yet from an unusually cautious Chelsea team There is that same absence of central drive and they could really do with Frank Lampard out there although that was a nice little move involving Van Aanholt but Sturridge can't get a shot in And Nikki in Los Angeles writes: "I'd like to spend an evening with José Mourinho but I'll keep the other details to myself just in case my boyfriend reads this..." Ah 28 mins Zilina doing quite a lot of attacking out there and they look fearless at the moment Nice break down the right by Sturridge who is very quick and who cuts in and shoots when he should have passed to the mosquito-ridden targetman in the middle Luke Crane notes: "Roy Hodgson would be my favorite falling asleep in an armchair in front of the fire wrapped up in a tartan blanket Premiership manager." Oh 31 mins Really great play down the right by the driving Majtan who cuts past Van Aanholt a little too easily jinks towards goal and hits a powerful shot from 12 yards that Turnbull palms away above his head Back down the other end straight away Sturridge gets a better shot in this time nipping past a largely invisible defender and forcing Dubravka to palm away Meanwhile Rai Skrupskis is also in a swoon over Jose "I'd like to have an absorbing dinner conversation with Big Sam and Jose Mourinho about how to coach good teams 34 mins Chelsea have had more of the ball in the last few minutes but without their usual scampering wide men there isn't quite the same penetration And Andrew Rae has a heartfelt plea: "I wish Ancelotti would at least think of everyone who bets money on Chelsea to win before he put's out the nippers 37 mins Malouda has a close range header that's straight at the keeper when he really might have buried that Moments later he wumps a left-foot shot just over the bar from 30 yards after some nice link-up from Kakuta and McEachran Van Aanholt then gets a nice cross in from the left but finds the empty space behind Drogba Finally a bit more Chelsea-like from Chelsea And Chuck Wooldridge writes: "Nikki wants to do to Jose Mourinho what Jose has done to football Organise him extremely efficiently in key areas 40 mins Chelsea are currently swamping the Slovak canaries here's one: Malouda shoots from just outside the box and sees his deflected shot trickle just wide of the post Suddenly Zilina are crawling towards half time like Audley Harrison after three rounds with [insert name of largely competent boxer here] Ian Copestake writes: "I like the idea of an obscure Chelsea bench Can subs still walk on or do they have to be bussed in?" 43 mins Zilina may have ridden the storm as they get hold of the ball for the first time in about ten minutes and have a bit of a romp about Jamie Woods offers: "I'd take Sam Allardyce for Wii Boxing Even though he'd bully me into conceding Mohammad Ali and then whine incessantly after a third round TKO" Zilina are just about deservedly in front on clear-cut chances made and they did score a lovely goal An oddly subdued Stamford Bridge and it could get a lot worse if it stays like this and Chelsea lose at home to a team that lost 7-0 last time out I'm off to get myself an unpleasant and ultimately regrettable hot beverage Back in a few moments with some insightful email-pasting-based analysis Ed O'Donnell is talking my kind of talk: "I'm sorry but if Ramires gets in the team on Sunday vs Newcastle it'll be ridiculous Apart from 1 performance vs Arsenal he has been absolutely dire can't seem to defend or track runners and is getting out-played by his 17 year old teammate and a bunch of no-name Slovakians Who on earth convinced us to pay £17 million for him Yuval Weber wonders: "Is this shaping up to be Ancellotti's Rosenborg moment?" Ah 49 mins Chelsea have pinned Zilina back and it looks like the two full backs are playing much higher up the pitch Zilina are defending really deep and this could be a difficult spell for them both leading to mass bundles in the Zilina area Graeme Hayes sighs: "I should like to watch a subtitled foreign language film with Kevin Keegan I think we'd have a nice time." It sounds really lovely Huge relief for Chelsea and it's Sturridge who gets it Kalou jinks inside on the right and puts in a cross that travels a long way gets a slight deflection and is tucked in by Sturridge taking a gamble at the - ahem - far stick combined with Zilina timidity and Chelsea really should drive on from here finding some space in the area and swinging in a shin high cross that Drogba just sort of flails at while performing a strangely listless kung-fu style scissors kick in the style of Paolo Di Canio in about 1998 Then he does some give-it-some gestures to the crowd And Scott W writes: "I'd like to spend a summer weekend at Rafa Benitez's house The sort of weekend you'd spend at the mercy of a long-distance cousin having popped up for a wedding or a funeral Moments of frantic activity spread around long periods of inactivity rather than prickly and self-absorbed..." It goes on for ages more and there's Ramires having a powerful shot from about 25 yards that flashes wide Kalou pops up on the right this time and gets in a nice cross He has looked pleasantly urgent since he came on Kevin Hunter muses: "my half-time research shows that chelsea have now had over 60 shots since they last scored a goal - is that some kind of record?" Did they 60 mins McEachran is having a good game by the way He looks like a good ball-playing midfielder with lots of confidence and a nice awareness Free kick to Chelsea 25 yards out on the left and Drogba is spotting it up for another punt into the crowd Which just shows how wrong you can be as it's a wonderful free kick head high and swirling all over the place and the keeper tips it on to the post 63 mins Kalou elegantly finds space on the break who flannels about and has a hopeful side-foot at goal And on cue Brian Don interjects: "Is it me or has Daniel Sturridge been the best player on the pitch for Chelsea He's been willing to run at defenders (as usual) and most importantly (in contrast to some of Chelsea's players recently - that means you Ramires) he seems to be playing with a fire under his belly." It's not you albeit they are trying to flog their way through ten defenders most of the time And John Powers seems to be kind of thinking aloud but somehow doing it in an email: "What the f*** is up with Chelsea Double winners last year and started the season at 60 mph Now they have lost three out of four and are struggling ridiculously at home to Zilina Is this all up to losing Wilkins or a combination of the injuries that have struck a squad that's really too thin behind the starting XI?" All good questions For the answers I refer you to about 100,000 words of current football newsprint-waffle 72 mins Slightly farcical scenes in the Zilina box as Drogba and Sturridge almost end up walking the ball into the net and finally Sturridge has a shot just wide Van Aanholt has just hit the post with the most powerful shot you're ever likely to see The post made a horribly creaky broken snapping noise Paul Southcott writes: "I'd like to go on a ghost train with Ged Houllier so I can see how much his eyes boggle when he's really seen something startling Or to a West Ham game where they don't look appalling I guess that'd have a similar effect." Sturridge gets an ovation and he's done very well tonight A lovely pass by McEachran puts Drogba in down the channe but very nice stuff from the pint-sized teenager Tom Shaw laments: "Maybe Chelsea are labouring because the players are as bored with these pointless stages of the Champion's League as the rest of us Oh for a return to the European Cup." Not sure the players would agree with that They were paid in penny sweets in the European Cup era Chelsea will still top the group with a point Zilina are vampirically excited about getting a point here and maybe this is going to be it now Having said that Zilina do have a spell of attacking pressure but a rather weak cross is easily caught by Turnbull He's got himself booked for an unsightly lunge Chelsea pass sidewyas for a bit then Van Aanholt which Drogba wumps over the bar using his feverish brow Moments later Malouda picks up a lovely touch from Drogba and hits the side-netting in a way that makes one half of the ground amusingly celebrate a "goal" and then go suddenly quiet Nate Elliot provides the voice of reason: "You and many of your readers seem to be forgetting that Chelsea have started seven squad players tonight - five of whom are 21 years or younger and one of whom (Ferreira) will always be shockingly poor no matter how old he is Asking why an experimental lineup with an average age under 24 aren't ripping apart the opposition would seem to completely miss the point of the exercise." Is suppose the point is: why are they doing that McEachran and Van Aanholt look like the real deal Chelsea 2-1 Zilina Malouda scores a well-worked goal from one yard stretching to volley home a fine Drogba knock down Chelsea deserve to win this - they have totally dominated the second half and Ancelotti has been brave with his selection Zilina look shattered but they have defended far too deep all half That goal was scored by a player practically on the goal line 89 mins Drogba has another toe-blast at goal from a free kick and nearly decapitates the wall and Chelsea are strolling now They look incredibly relieved and they will go through as group winners Scott W has a query: "I'm curious about the sports desk at the Guardian and the protocol for writing an MBM tapping out the MBM while you watch from the comfort of your sofa (or pub)?" Paul Doyle and I are currently inside a zeppelin stationed over mainland Europe peering down through twin telescopes and dictating copy via a satellite phone 90+1 mins Chelsea continue to yawn their way towards a very relieved victory And Mark Gillies writes: "I can't get Chris Murray's Mick McCarthy song out of my head I think it could be a hit." He's right I'm picturing it being performed by Duncan from Blue with a guest rap by Robbie Williams Chelsea win and go through and they deserved it too on that second half showing It's hard to argue with 15 points from 5 games and hopefully nobody will Some promising stuff from the Chelsea kids into the bargain About us | Advertise with us | Contact us Posted: 12 February 2020 | | No comments yet Representing a €160 million investment from ŽSSK the new EMUs will provide passengers with a wide range of modernised benefits Slovakia’s national passenger operator, ŽSSK has unveiled its new comprehensive electric multiple-unit (EMU) which was manufactured and provided by the consortium of Škoda Transportation and ŽOS Trnava consists of 13 three-car EMUs which are capable of accommodating 247 seated and 212 standing passengers – and 12 four-car trainsets with a total capacity of 343 and 285 standing passengers The estimated delivery period is between 2020 and 2022 Following the reveal, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of ŽSSK, Filip Hlubocký, said: “Now the electrical units are still waiting for a several-month approval process on the Railway Testing Circuit and, subsequently, on the lines of the infrastructure manager of ŽSR We are doing everything we can to get the first passengers on the new train before this summer season.” The new units are set to operate within the Žilina and Trenčín region Cadca-Zwardon and Zilina-Liptovsky Mikulas lines the new trainsets benefit from multiple features Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the Škoda Transportation Group said: “I am very pleased that today we are introducing the first single-storey electric unit for Slovenské dráhy in Vrútky Passengers will especially appreciate the comfortable seating air conditioning and stylish LED interior lighting The kits will also offer a clear information system with monitors ample space for transporting disabled people bicycles and easy and barrier-free access for all passengers.” , , By No comments yet All subscriptions include online membership giving you access to the journal and exclusive content By By , By Comment * document.getElementById("comment").setAttribute( "id" "a713b136635e9554d4545e7225b6789a" );document.getElementById("j0f0bb4fb4").setAttribute( "id" Write for us | Advertise with us Global Railway Review is published by: Russell Publishing Ltd.Court LodgeHogtrough HillBrasted © Russell Publishing Limited Website development by e-Motive Media Limited About 70 high schools students from Slovakia as well as international students based in Slovakia met for the second year session of the Žilina Model United Nations Conference in Žilina in the building of the Office of the Žilina self-governing region from 10 - 12 April 2013 and Secretary-General of ZAMUN 2013 Peter Kocian UNIS Vienna was represented through the virtual presence of Director of UNIS Vienna János Tisovszky via a  video message introduced by UNIS Vienna consultant Jana Hönschová Ambassador Sedgwick encouraged the delegates of ZAMUN 2013 to see themselves as architects of a better world and that the international community would not be able to protect peace and security without the United Nations Director Frelichová reminded everyone that there have been several significant Slovak nationals involved in the work of the UN since its founding and stressed that the Organization can be only as strong and effective as the Member States make it The Slovak UN Youth Delegate 2012/2013 Milena Dudášová made an appeal not to overlook the enriching and innovative potential of young people In his video message to the opening session UNIS Vienna Director János Tisovszky said that young people can make a crucial difference in building peaceful and inclusive societies at home and a peaceful and inclusive global order and that the United Nations is ready to be a partner in this The Žilina Model United Nations Conference ZAMUN 2013 was organized by students of the bilingual high school in Žilina Žilina self-governing region and UNIS Vienna.
