local residents cleaned and tidied up the Ananyiv Jewish cemetery
The local cemetery is in a very dilapidated condition
many graves and tombstones have been destroyed
the deputy of the Ananievsky regional council told about it on his Facebook page
about 12 trucks of garbage and tree branches were taken out
and a large number of bushes that were cluttering the graves were cut down
The Jewish cemetery in Ananiev has existed since the last century
Once this city was a county town of Kherson province
The Jewish population was engaged in the manufacture of clothing and trade
there were 5 synagogues in Ananiev that existed before 1930
numerous strikes by the Soviet authorities
and later the executions of the German occupiers
led to the almost complete extermination of the Jewish population

the city of  Ananiev has preserved a lot of architecture
which testifies to the residence of numerous Jewish families in the city
There is also evidence that there were two Jewish cemeteries in the city
